Honestly a super good professor who makes Chemistry really easy to understand and obviously cares about making it manageable for all students. Definitely cares about all the kids in her class, only thing that sucks so far are the labs, the in class part very easy. Does have iClicker daily but gives you the answer.

110% recommend her as your professor, she is very sweet, takes her time with you, explains the problems throughly, and is very nice with grades. She makes sure exams are as easy as possible for yall and she makes sure that you know everything you shold know before an exam. There are 5 exams total, a mini exam, exam 1,2,and 3, and finals. TAKE HER!!

Great professor! She cares about her student and always wants to help! Gives lots of resources that are very helpful on the tests. There is homework every week, but is for a completion grade. Highly recommend!

Dr. Karim was by far the best chem prof for me. She breaks down complicated subjects into easy-to-understand concepts and visuals. I retook this class with her after a super bad prof the previous semester and the difference between my grades was ASTOUNDING. She's amazing y'all.

For a chem prof she was super caring and genuinely wants the class to succeed. She works hard to meet students outside of class to help. Again, she's super caring and seriously just wants her students to succeed. Yes there is lots of homework but that's just the chem department, not her. Great prof and great at explaining topics.

Dr. Karim is by far one of the best Chem professor I could hope for. She is funny in lecture making it easy to pay attention. She gives really easy questions on tests and really cares about students. I reccomend sitting in the front because she talks to you between classes and tries to get to know her students. She is also very personable!!

She was an amazing professor, only reason I failed was because I stopped going to class after a while. She teaches so clearly, makes sure you understand before moving on the the sweetest most caring woman in and outside of class. I could not afford Aleks so she got me a free code for the semester and extended the due date for the previous ones.

Get this professor!! She has good lectures (knows how to teach), practice exams (that are the same as the exam) and is super available/flexible. Her office hours are very 1:1 with the students and she has the patience to explain it to you in simple terms. Exams are very straight forward in what she asks. I absolutely love her! She has been my favorite professor so far in college. She genuinely cares about her students and wants them to succeed. My biggest piece of advice is go to office hours and SI sessions even if you understand the material in class.

Coming into college, I hated chemistry and I was not looking forward to taking it. Dr. Karim changed that; her lectures are amazing and does an amazing job at teaching the subject so that we all can understand it. One of the best professors I have had. She is VERY kind, easy to talk too, and funny. She breaks down and teaches the material in a way that makes it SO MUCH easier to understand. Exams aren't too difficult, but you definitely need to study. She gives practice exams and a TON of practice worksheets. For the final, study the review slides!!!

She is literally the sweetest professor I have ever had at A&M!! It would've been an easy A if there wasn't a lab portion, but that's run by the Chemistry department and has nothing to do with her. She explains everything clearly, and you can tell she wants you to pass!! It's also NOT a flipped classroom like a lot of other Chemistry professors.

Admittedly, I took Dr. Karim's CHEM 119 as a senior - my third time taking the class. I had some issues when it came down to finals week, and Dr. Karim was beyond willing to meet with me so I could discuss my personal situation with her so that we could look at my grade and see what I could to improve. She genuinely cares for all of her students.

She's incredibly kind and always to assist, offering far more office hours than any other profs. Her reviews mirror the tests. The exams themselves are straightforward and easy. Moreover, she's generous with rounding up scores; an 80 on i-clicker turns into a perfect 100, and the same goes for ALEKS HW scores of 90. I wholeheartedly endorse her!

This professor was my all time FAVORITE! She has sweetest personality, and she is very compassionate when it comes to grades, and genuinely cares for all her students! She takes the concepts of Chemistry and makes it so much easier to understand. If you had Dr. Hawkins, who I also recommend for BIO 111, you would love this professor too!!

Dr. Karim is one of the nicest teachers I have ever had across the board. She was such a good teacher and so so sweet. She put so much emphasis on making sure everyone understood what she was teaching. She made it very clear how and when to access her outside of class and made a subject I've hated for years into my favorite class.

Along with this, when the average of our exams was low, she wanted to see what she could improve on as a professor before immediately blaming it on the students. If you're taking chem 119, you have to take Dr. Karim. She cares about every student and will do anything to help you succeed. Chem is hard in general, but she's funny and makes lectures engaging. She gives extra credit if the class did badly on a test and gives back points for questions if she thinks it was her fault we didn't know it.

She is an amazing professor. She is very respectful and truly cares for her students. All of the lectures are based on her notes but she goes into depth on every topic she covers and goes through the questions slowly to make sure you understand the concept. Overall I would take her course again.

Professor Karim is so sweet and caring and she always provides many materials to help you prepare for the test. I love her so much and will miss her! The only con I've noticed is that while similar, the reviews are much easier than the tests. Your grade comprises attendance, homework (ALEKS), lab grade, a mini-exam, and three exams.

Amazing professor, the class was very difficult though when it came to tests. The exams were very oddly worded and caused confusion for a lot of students. I would recommend this professor but it is essential that you study often.

Beyond being a VERY kind person, she is understanding of college students, and doesn't try to make her class unnecessarily hard. However, she is new to writing tests so some of the test questions were frustrating and the answers could be debated. That said, supplement your test grade with Aleks and iClicker. She's definitely the best Chem 119 prof.

Dr. Karim truly cares about her students, her teaching style really helps you grasp the material well, and she provides plenty of practice problems/practice exams that are VERY similar to the actual exams. Undeniably my favorite class I've taken my freshmen year and I can't stress enough how good Dr. Karim is.

Hands down, the BEST prof at A&M. Dr. Karim is such a caring instructor; she provides extra credit, practice sheets, multiple attempts aleks, and office hours basically all week because she wants you to understand and succeed. Wish she taught more than 119 so that I could take her class again. Was evident that she wanted nothing more than the success of her students. When the average on a test was lower than she was expecting, she believed it was because she didn't prepare us well enough and offered an extra credit opportunity in return.

Dr. Karim is super funny and creates analogies to make concepts understandable. She gives iClicker every day and shares the answers, but iClicker and ALEKS are weighted so you can miss some still get full credit. She is very young, but she relates to students well because of it. Her exam study packages provided so much review content for the tests.

I LOVE DR KARIM!! Best prof I've had! She's kind, hilarious, relatable and is a talented professor. She gave practice exams, no quizzes, 2 points of EC, and 3 office hrs a week which are life savers! There were 4 total exams at 12% each, so not too test heavy. This is probably her last semester at A&M so take her while you can!!

Dr. Karim is a younger professor who throws lots of funny references in her lectures. She is an amazing prof and really wants to see everyone do well in chem. Her exams aren't hard compared to other profs and she gives practice exams that reflect the actual exam very well.

She is a very friendly professor. She treats her students like her friends, even gives candy out when you answer the question right. She gave an extra credit assignment on the lowest exam score you had. Basically do the H.W, come to lectures, and you will pass the class.

Great professor. Course was very well constructed and exams were almost identical to the study guides. Lectures were easy to follow and understand. My class bombed our second exam, so she curved it and worked with us on the material to find where the disconnect was. Super easy course, just do the homework and study before exams and you're golden.

AMAZING PROFESSOR!! Seriously, if you have the opportunity to take her class, do it!! She goes out of her way to make sure that you fully understand the material. The exams are all multiple choice which is a game changer. She did provide us 3 opportunities for extra credit. The class consists of 3 exams and 1 final, attendance is mandatory.

Like most chemistry courses, she gives a lot of homework. However, Dr. Karim was one of the BEST professors I have ever had. She is incredibly kind, very understanding, and works hard to make her lectures understandable for everyone. She is INCREDIBLY humble for someone so smart and capable.

Lab is 25% of your grade and grading there is MUCH tougher than Karim. If you took AP Chem this class will be a breeze. Otherwise, study a little bit and you'll get it.

The worst part about the class was the fact that she wasn't teaching again next semester at A&M. That speaks a lot about her. She made her class easier than high school chemistry. I was lucky enough to take Karim's last class at A&M, so sad she won't be here to teach the spring semester because she was just THAT good of a professor honestly. So clear in her grading and offers credit where she can. Lectures are super easy to understand and always worked examples on the screen with us. Every lecture is uploaded on canvas too!

I hated chemistry in high school, and I found the subject to be quite annoying. Dr. Karim made the class worth coming to, even though attendance wasn't required, you would want to go to class. The lectures we're helpful, so helpful in fact that my friends in other classes used her lecture recordings to study. She's very sweet and makes funny jokes.

She made things easy to comprehend and there was lots of grace given with homework and attendance. I am so blessed to have had her as my first college chem prof, whoever gets her next is so lucky. She is the sweetest person ever and wants everyone in her class to excel. I loved going to her class and am so appreciative of how easy she made chem for me to understand. Never thought I'd type one of these but she was so amazing I had to!

I've never written one of these for a professor before, but I HAD to for Dr. Karim. She's truly one of a kind, you won't find many professors like her. She's the sweetest, most caring woman. I thank God I got her as my chem professor. I'm so honored to learn from her wisdom. She makes chem easy and enjoyable. I'll miss her so much!

TAKE HER. If you want someone who doesn't beat around the bush and ONLY TESTS you on THINGS YOU LEARNED, Karim is your girl. She is the greatest professor I have ever had the privilege of having and I will not budge on it. She makes it so clear what you need to know. She is funny, beautiful, kindhearted and truly one of a kind. I will miss her!!!

I absolutely loved Dr. Karim. She always gave little treats if you spoke up in class (not that I ever did). She provides practice exams and plenty of extra practice. She's always easy to reach, and she genuinely cares about teaching. I'm so sad she's leaving A&M

Where do I began with Dr. Karim. She is quite simply an amazing professor who truly cares about her students and is empathetic beyond compare. I skipped many of my other classes but consistently went to her class because she made learning chemistry fun. If you are reading Dr. Karim, you are truly a breath of fresh air compared to other professors.

Karim is awesome! She is funny, kind, and a great teacher. She wants you to succeed. HIGHLY recommend.

Dr. Karim is, hands down, the best professor at the school. She truly cares about every single one of her students and is one of the most caring people I have ever met. I'm so sad she's leaving TAMU, but if she ever returns, take any of her classes. She truly made an impact on my education here at TAMU and on many others!
