Prof Shaw is a excellent teacher. she is very understanding and always willing to help. her methods of teaching and grading is something that all math teachers should pick up! i am taking her again next semester for college algebra and cant wait. defiantly take this teacher!

Easy class! Hands out notes and you do problems with her, you get points for that. Homework is online, and her tests are from the notes! Really easy! Highly recommended!

I took this class online, and we use a program called my math lab. The class is very routine. The good thing about this class is that she offers lots of extra credit (3-6) extra credit points every WEEK and adds them on to your midterm and final exam grade. If math is not your best subject than she is the teacher for you.

Took this class online I am not good in math at all got a B. She is very helpful, quiz every week,and group discussions. She says you can take the quiz twice but I have taken quizzes three and four times. She really want you to pass. This is the best professor I have had thus far.

Although Ms Shaw asks more from students than other teachers with the same class, she is so helpful and encouraging, available to help you, and patient if you fall behind. She will work with you till the end. If her class is still open, sign on. You won't regret it.

omgosh! Dr. Shaw is amazing! I had to take intermidate 3 times, and FINALLY passed with her! She WANTS her students to pass. She makes it very hard for you to get anything under a "b" in her class and in all assignments. I hated math and always failed before her, and now im taking her again for college algebra! SO.. easy....and shes pretty hilariou

She was pretty good. I was so nervous about passing this online class but left with an A! Dude! Fa real tho! She will ALWAYS be there to help when u need it. The end of the semester gets a bit hectic tho. HW and Quizzes are ok. But u can do the HW again and again with diff examples to help until u understand. I shud have taken her for MAC1105 too.

Good teacher. About 20-30 hw problems and a quiz each week. Very lenient. Easy grader. I did very bad in math my whole life but did well with her. I thought I would fail the midterm and got an A. I have an A in the class too. If you need more time for assignments ask, she will give it to you. She is a really nice lady not much help via email.

Very lenient and understanding prof. writes back right away. material not to hard. easy directions. only con would be the three GROUP projects. i like doing things on my own, so having do work on something as a group was hard, especially if you're assigned with slackers. mid and final have to be taken in campus.

Very nice and lenient professor. She sincerely wants you to do well. Although the majority of the work can be done online, I did find the book useful when I needed more detailed explanations. There are 3 group projects, but I found them very helpful in understanding the material better. She gives exam hints so be sure to study those.

Dr Shaw is definitely a great teacher...She does everything in her power to make sure everyone passes..I had a lot happen to me this semester so I got behind and she gave me a lot of time to catch up. Very very nice person..>TAKE HER IF U CAN!! The group projects are kind of weird but good.

I am taking her for College Algebra and Stats. Her GPS system is great. You don't need the book, just the access code. A MUST TAKE! Math is my worst, now it's my best!

Mrs. Shaw is the greatest math teacher. I have never gotten A's in math until I took her. I had her for mat 1033 and now for mac 1105. Her tests are extremely similar to the review, she just changes around the numbers. She is very helpful and is easy to get an A!!

LOVE HER! I took her for MAT1033 as well and she is great. Her GPS system is so helpful, you don't need the book at all. So helpful, nice and very approachable. I missed a couple classes and the next class meeting day she took an hour out of her day to go over what I missed, one on one, before class. She needs to teach more advanced math! TAKE HER!

Dr.Shaw was my favorite teacher at VCC. I took her two semisters ago and loved her class. The class consisted of 4 test, online hw, and online quizzes. The hw was so simple and the quizzes were based on the hw. If you want to learn and be successful take her I have recieved A's in trig and prcal now and thinking about taking stas with her!!!!

I was never a math lover. But Mrs. Shaw was amazing. Although STAT is really hard and annoying, she made me understand it so well that i got an A+ on my final. I never got lower than a B on anything. Honestly, i know everyone says this, but if i can do it, you can for sure... of course you have to practice lol

This Stat class is not terribly hard but it will take a lot of time. Weekly group projects and a large stock portfolio due at the end on top of homework and quizes. The Professor is very nice and understanding but it is a large time commitment. Guaranteed A if you have lots of time for the 40 or so weekly problems + group projects.

Great teacher! Easy class if you do what is expected. If you do all the HW and little projects you will have a great grade no matter what you receive on the mid-term and final. I am bad at math and got a B+ in the class just for participating and doing what was asked of me.

She gives a lot of work but as others have said, if you do it, you will do well in class. Group projects a little difficult for online class but she seems to be lenient on grading them. I recommend this professor but plan on spending the time on the work.

I took the precalculus class online. I still have the binder edition of the bo0k if you need it. I'm taking this online. It requires a time commitment, but that is because the subject matter is not easy. If you do your homework and post your discussions on time, you should do well in this class, but if you're a slacker you're probably going to feel overwhelmed. Statistics isn't easy, but if you have to take it, take it with Dr. Shaw.

*This was an online course.* Dr Shaw is very well versed in math and teaching math. She assigns a ton of busy work, but it helps keep you focused on the class. Follow her advice and stay ahead by at least a week and you should do very well. I really appreciated her teaching style.

I took Statistics online with Professor Shaw and she was the most helpful teacher I've ever had. As an English major, math and I don't get along, but she was so accommodating. Took precalc online it's a ton of work, but I have an 88% going into the final. Very fast paced and time consuming. Would definitely recommend to get math out of the way, since she's a great professor.

I thought I was going to have difficulties in this class, but with the help of the teacher, PowerPoint slides, discussions, there is no way you can do bad. Just put the time and effort because it is a lot of busy work and stay on track with the modules and due dates. You will do fine if you finish on time and study the material. Highly recommend!

Took this teacher for STA 2023 and MAC 1140. All I can say is: Wow! What a great teacher! Love the homework, unlimited tries, and 30% of the weight. Discussions are easy, and if you explain yourr issues, she's very understanding. This has been my favorite teacher I've had yet...now she just needs to teach MAC 2311 ^_^ Highly recommended!

I would have expected more interaction from an online course. The school should actually have a listing of self-paced as opposed to online. This course was solely online and almost all self-taught. The power point slides were all right but I found the need to look elsewhere to get clearer explanations of things I did not understand.

I took the class online. Stats is NOT easy. However professor Shaw is fantastic! she replies to her emails quickly and gives extensions if you really need them. If you want to get an A you need to do your work in time. Do so and study the quizzes for the midterm and final you will pass! she gives extra credit if you do all of your work. Take her!

I took her online. She truly wants you to succeed. Dr. Shaw replies to your question the same day, usually within a couple hours. She gives a lot of work but if you do it then you're guaranteed at least a B. Show her you work hard and she'll work with you. A's are possible (I made a 90%). She gives extra credit as well.

Excellent teacher! Good online class. HW is in MML. Midterm and final are in Blackboard. She provides excellent PowerPoints and practice tests on the material. Very clear on due dates. Stay ahead and you will do fantastic in this course. Online textbook is included in MML, no need to buy a separate one. Work is easy with enough time set aside.

Statistics isn't an easy subject to me, but I actually found this course interesting because of prof. Shaw. She's very helpful and communicates well with her students. A lot of work is involved as well as time, but I understood most of the sections because of all the practice/homework we did. Great professor!

I took this as a 6 week summer course and it was a challenge. A LOT of work to do. That said, she was very helpful when I had questions and got back to my e-mails very quickly! Be sure to read the textbook thoroughly and you will be fine!

Precalculus Algebra is not an easy course, especially if taken online. That said, Professor Shaw was quick to answer any questions and was very helpful in directing me to the right answers and allowed me to figure stuff out for myself which helped me to retain the info better. She's great!

No professor I have ever had has cared more about my grade than Prof Shaw. Constantly gives extensions for homework on MML. Great lectures and reviews. As a result her test are really easy. If you try and show up you will get an A or B.

Dr. Shaw really wants you to successfully pass her course, BUT it won't be easy. There's group and class discussion posts that you HAVE to participate in. Towards the end it became ridiculous because it was just adding to a discussion that you really just did to get it over with. I didn't find it to be helpful at all.

First half of semester is rough - about 3 chapters/week. After the midterm (on which I got a low 70%) the workload decreased and became much easier. Weekly: discussion post, homework assignments, quiz, then 1 midterm & a final. Gave extra credit opps and was EXTREMELY helpful in saving my grade - from a C at midterm to an A. Amazing professor! Math is not my forte but she kept me motivated and gave me confidence. There's 2 modules (6 sections) due per week with about 10 problems per section and there's 2 discussions due per week too. This teacher is worth taking if you want someone who responds quick and wants to help you succeed. Offers extra cedit too! TAKE HER!

She encouraged me to finish strong and was available almost all the time to help answer my questions. You do have a lot of work, but she's very understanding if you fall behind.

Ms. Shaw is a very good professor and you can tell she wants you to pass and do well. Which is a good plus because some professors could really care less. She tries her best to make sure you understand. While I think she is a good professor it's kind of hard to understand her while she is teaching sometimes because of her accent. Caring professor.

So far professor Shaw has been awesome. She does not make you do busy work , instead she passes out a work sheet on the topic your learning and goes along and teaches it to you. I'm not the best at math but she's good at explaining stuff. She's also funny and sweet love her !!!

LOTS OF HOMEWORK!!! I took this class online full summer 2017. I'm no stranger to hard work, but I was overwhelmed. She helps some with deadline extensions. There was so much HW due that I'm not sure if I actually learned the material, I was just trying not to drown in it and get it done. Be prepared, especially if you work or take other classes.

Lots of homework, but her syllabus was super clear and detailed. The weekly discussions we're tedious on top of HW but I think they did help me learn the material. She grades quick and gives 2 chances to pass each section quiz.

Professor Shaw was a very understanding professor. If you want to take it online she gives you new modules every week along with quizzes. On top of that, discussions with four questions that you need to respond to. I took Professor Shaw for Intermediate Algebra in the Fall semester. She really wants her students to pass and gives them many opportunities to succeed by extending deadlines and offering assistance. You have to work for the grade you want but she explains things very well and this is the first math class I have ever recieved a B in(usually a C). Take her class!

I can definitely say that the time given was not enough, however, I did take this course in the summer (12 week course). The mid-term and the final are graded very heavily that anything below a B will make your grade go down by a lot. The professor does give good tips and will give a study guide for mid-term and final.

She does not really care about the lab. May not learn a lot but will get an easy A if you do everything before the final. She is HILARIOUS and so caring. Take her!

Professor Shaw's goal is for her students to pass. I took this class online, this class requires a lot of time. Every week there is 3 modules, 1 discussion and 1 10 quest quiz due on mymathlab. Although class is online midterm and final exams are taken in person and you must pass the final to pass the class. Prof gives opportunity for extra credit

One of my best&favorite Prof. She was always willing to help me with all my questions/emails. What I admire is the fact that I would get responses ASAP. That really help&made my learning exp funeresting. The class is very easy IF YOU READ. As someone who failed AP Stat in HS&thought it was hard. I thoroughly enjoyed this class & found it easy.

Theres A LOT of work: 12 modules and one due every week, along with a discussion. She gave us several extensions throughout the semester though. Shes very kind and is always posting reminders and responds to emails VERY QUICKLY (within hours, even on weekends). Good PowerPoints, and the textbook is on MyMathLab. DONT PROCRASTINATE, trust me.

Uses MyStatsLab access code for homework and quizzes, and that's basically gonna be where you teach yourself. A discussion post every week. Lots of material to get through, but it lightens up as you go. As long as you do the homework, it should be easy, just time-consuming.

Im not sure if its because I took this course as a hybrid but I found that a lot of the time I was teaching myself through all the homework she assigns through web assign. However, she does want you to do well. She gives plenty of chances to make up hw if deserving and is there for you if you need any extra help. She's super lenient and caring.

You're an idiot for not taking her class ESPECIALLY if you need the class for credit. Covid-19 in addition to my mother passing from non-covid related illnesses made my summer six-week course a rough time but this woman is so compassionate and gave me extensions. My class was mixed-mode, we only met once a week. Make sure that you finish the homework before lecture day. She goes through the material fairly quick. Take the class as a review for what you already went over in the homework. The professor is really nice and understanding. She wants you to succeed.

She is a good professor. This is an online class so she won't be very involved but she had a lab assistant that did Zoom weekly. There are weekly HW assignments and chapter quizzes. Easy A or B if you just do all of your work. Most of it is on MyMathLab and then discussions and Labs on canvas.

Even though there is a lot of homework and quizzes, this Professor makes learning the material a lot of fun. I definitely recommend anyone to take her.

mgf1106 Prof Shaw is amazing she responds quickly. She's encouraging. Weekly you have to do 4-5 hw's and a quiz/test you get 7 full days to complete and get 2-3 attempts (quiz) to get an 80 or better. for hw, 80 or better no limits. 4 tests total including the final. 8 discussions easy participation points. hw is more than tests. extra credit.

Shes a really good teacher. If you have a busy schedule shell help you and shes very flexible, gives a lot of opportunities including extra credit and she cares a lot. I was going to fail the class because I had some stuff going on, but she never gave up on me and I got an A. I absolutely recommend her!!! One the best teachers I have had.

There is a lot of note taking but she provides different resources and a lot of extra credit. I had a lot personal issues during this semester and she was so understanding and such an amazing help. She is a real gem of a teacher and long as you do what she asks you to do the class will be so easy

Literally the best she gave a lot of extra credit opportunities that really helped my grade. Definitely a lot of assignments that are time consuming but shes so helpful and answers emails extremely fast. please choose this professor you will not regret it.

/5 She assigns a lot of homework but will open it all up if needed, however, I honestly recommend doing it every week as intended because you get points off for it being late as well as it stacks up. Online class tests are Zoom proctored but exactly what the homework shows. Final cumulative but makes you show work. Lots of cool extra credit.

I took this class online in spring 2022. The class is pretty straightforward. Their are about 3-6 homework assignments each week which have 10-20 questions and a 10 question quiz as well as a weekly discussion. The only 2 exams are the midterm and final which are monitored with zoom. If you have any questions Professor Shaw always answers emails.

Greatest math professor at Valencia (for online students at least). She's so kind and accommodating! She offers plenty of extra credit opportunities and is willing to help you get the grade you deserve. 10/10 recommend!

Agatha Shaw is the first professor I have ever wrote a review for on #ratemyprofessor. She was excellent on communication and very helpful and understanding of my situations and very motivating. It is easy to feel consume by doing a math course online and its hard to be discipline and she understands that really well and gives alerts everyday.

She's so kind and intelligent. Quite a bit of work with at least 2 homeworks, a quiz, and a discussion post every week. I understood the material so it wasn't that bad for me, but if you feel like you will struggle with trigonometry, this class might not be a good option. Overall, she was great and the class was decent!

Professor Shaw was so nice and accommodating. All of the course work was online and she offered great resources for doing her extra weekly assignments. She had a great TA who had set zoom hours to help you get an A on all of the homework. She really cares about her students and really wants everyone to get an A in her class! Take her!

There is a LOT of homework! Expect to be doing homework nearly every day. Professor Shaw is very nice, but I learned more from the Pearson online platform we submit homework on than her tbh... Also, she uses honorlock and Zoom-proctors exams.

Professor Shaw is the sweetest math professor I have had. She emails you back quickly and cares about her students. Everything is done on MyLab with a few discussions but she does extend the due dates, but try to keep up because it is a lot of assignments but you have a whole week to do them. Take her you won't regret it ( I was an online class).

Super caring teacher right here, emails you back with great feedback and class is organized and she is ready to teach. Her accent and handwriting can be a bit hard to understand but she makes up for it with her great attention to detail. This teacher needs a raise, its not an easy course but she is very helpful indeed!!

She was very nice, but the class did include lots of assignments and does take up a lot of time in the week. She also responded quickly to emails and the quizzes were very similar to the homework assignments.

Professor Shaw is a caring instructor who provides detailed feedback. The class has a heavy workload, but using tools like Unstuck AI can make the prep more manageable. Expect lots of assignments, but the grading is fair if you stay on top of the material.
