She is THE worst teacher I've ever had! Probably the worstttt at ACC!! Absolutely Horrible teacher!! Our class was full at the beginning and in our last week we had 15 ppl max. All but 3 people failed the class. I do NOT reccommend her!! Yes this class is hard, but she is NOT worth taking!
wow wow wow no words ....... dont take a class with her....
DONT DO IT! She is very difficult to understand, and talks very fast. Doesn't give you reviews for lecture or lab tests, just says anything she said is fair game. Then puts 7 chapters on one test. Most of our class dropped after the first test where the class average was a 45. SPARE YOURSELF!!!!
She has a hard time speaking english, very hard to understand.weird techniques for teaching a class.WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HER....NEVER USELESS
OMG...DONT EVEN THINK... WASTE OF TIME. THIS WOMAN NEEDS THERAPY...NO JOKE!!!SHE IS SO MEAN AND RUDE..I CANT BELIEVE SHE SMOKES AND TEACHES ANATOMY...WHAT ....????????
She's a great person. But she has no sympathy when it cames to grades. dont take her its a waste of time and hard work
no comment
run fast....hahaha she is nuts dont take her. take dr.Cai he's the man....
Wow, this was the worst class I have ever taken. She is so knowlegable, but crams too much info on test. No review, anything(details)are fair game. Would not recomend.
expects way too much detail for the time allowed in labs. TONS to memorize for practicals with no review. you will take a cat down to the bones for dissection. also, dissection of organisms at almost EVERY lab. she's nice (as long as you are prepared for class), but extremely difficult!
horrible teacher. so unorganized. most of the lab homework isnt in the book or notes, you have to google it. she is demeaning and not clear. one of her questions on a test had multiple right answers. do not take this class
Unorganized
everyone is right about this teacher....run don't walk away from this one....dont take this teacher, worst mistake i made.
Summer class. Aglaia is awesome, strong personality, WEALTH of knowledge. INSANELY difficult. Lots of work. Disorganized, yes. Frustration d/t coloring hw, yes. YOU WILL LEARN SO MUCH!Anatomy will be a cake walk. You will either love or hate her. I love her! Prepare to dedicate LOTS of time. Light on book use. Take Aglaia only if you are dedicated.
Not very helpful when attending after hours study. No reviews. Lots of print outs. Expect a 3 ring 3 inch binder by the end of semester. Condenses many lectures into one test and lab test.
She is really not that bad. Her class is hard, but she is very helpful if she sees you making an effort. She was always available in the learning lab.
Dr. Chandler has high expectations, but if you are a dedicated student, you will LEARN so much from her class. She is also very helpful if you go to her at the learning lab. Although she provides enough notes for a 3-inch binder, I recommend you read the textbook if you want to make an A in the class.
Very Hard Class but you have to work at it. She was in the lab to help several times a week. Was always willing to answer questions in the lab. She has high expectations. If you take this class, I would suggest planning on at least 16 hours extra a week to keep up...
Very Hard Class but you have to work at it. She was in the lab to help several times a week. Was always willing to answer questions in the lab. She has high expectations. If you take this class, I would suggest planning on at least 16 hours extra a week to keep up... Do Not Miss Class or Labs!!!
Tough class but Dr Chandler is very helpful.
If you just enrolled with her, good luck to you, you will need it. It's a huge load, but having a crazy, unorganized teacher, definitely doesn't help! What to look for: 7 chapters per test, hard time understanding her accent, being off schedule, she's always behind! Making you feel dumb when you ask question. She is very knowledgeable, though.
Very knowledgeable but horrible teacher. Always behind. Our 2nd exam wasn't until 4/25 then our 3rd exam in addition to the comprehensive final and lab was 8 days later. Not helpful. She's always in the open labs but she's no help; she is merely present. She makes you feel dumb and belittles you if you ask a question in class or lab. Stayaway!
Key word "Intro". What in the world?? Do I use the book do I print all these pages and study????what??? It's sooooooo much even your mom couldn't catch up! Don't get me wrong she knows her stuff but that's the problem."She knows" we were trying to know". If you are on FA and need to keep your completion rate at 67%. RUN FAST!!
Dr. Chandler was very helpful to me. She is always in the labs available and willing to sit with you one on one. This class is extremely difficult and she does expect alot. But if you put your time in, don't miss classes and plan on spending and extra 15-18 hours a week to pass this class.Attend as many labs as you can and again don't miss class
If you're looking for an easy biology class you're in the wrong field. While this class was the most difficult of any that I have ever taken, Dr. Chandler thouroughly prepared me for the difficult courses ahead. Be prepared to make this course your job and get a study group together!
There is no getting around the fact that learning human anatomy in 4 1/2 months is overwhelming. Dr. Chandler gives a lot of homework but it actually helps you learn the material. Her tests are very fair and she gives you plenty of opportunities for bonus points. She genuinely likes her students and is available a lot in open lab. Great teacher.
She is an excellent teacher. Very helpful and gives homework that keeps you from falling behind. Her tests are very fair and not as hard as they could have been. I enjoyed her class and would recommend her.We were right on schedule all semester. She is very available in open lab or office hours for help. Stay up to date w hw and dont fall behind.
The other reviews have mentioned how Dr. Chandler is rude. I admit, she can come across as blunt sometimes, but it's just her style--she isn't being personal. She's a great professor, always willing to help and is SO very knowledgable. It's a hard class, so study a lot, but she's worth it. I worked very hard and got an A. Attend open lab.
Tough class. Must be in astudy group, going to open lab, and studying hrs a wk.I liked Dr. Chandlers teaching style but no reviews and she tells you 2 study everything, instead of just what's on the test, so sometimes it was hit or miss on what2 study.Homeworks/quiz's bring up grade~ tests hard but extra bonus questions. I got a b but others failed
Dont do it to yourself! I ended up having to teach my self everything because she doesnt explain things very well. This is a really hard class so you really need a great professor to talk you through it. She is really hard to understand which makes it hard to pay attention. Gives no review and tells you to study everything. The HW is way too much.
This is the hardest class you will ever take!! If you can, take it in summer school so you can devote ALL your time to studying. She is always late & the test aren't anything that you can prepare yourself for.Do the extra credit to pass..may the force be with you!
This class is hard!!!!!!!!! Do all the home works and extra credits, study A LOT!!!!!! . Use any online resources to help you study ex.youtube,google. Ect. Sometimes their explanation is less confusing.Go to the labs whenever you can. STUDY HER POWER POINTS and you'll good on the exams.
I have never had to drop a class in my college career until I took this teacher. Her tests were very overwhelming. She gave us 10 chapters on the first test with no review whats so ever. Plus, some of the questions on the test she did not even cover in class but expected you to already know it. She also puts essays on the test and grades too harsh
She THE BEST. Study the ppts, attend class & actually learn (not just to pass tests), have interest in the material, you'll make an A. She's helpful, responsive and funny. Take her if you're a strong student & like to get more info than just on the objectives (ask questions! she's easy to get sidetracked but the stories and knowledge are worth it!)
This class is pretty dang difficult to begin with, and Dr. Chandler does not help the situation. She is unclear, horrible at explaining things, and condescending. I only got an A because I worked my butt off and taught myself the material. She will not tell you what will be on tests, or offer any review. I suggest taking someone else.
I love this professor, she is hard and demanding, but if you put in the effort and time you will pass this class. Work load is heavy but how else do you expect to learn such a detailed subject. I'm taking her again for Biol 2304. You really have to try hard NOT to pass her class, you are given plenty of opportunities to make extra credit/points.
I wish I'd read the reviews before I signed up for this class. My biggest issue is that she puts questions on the exams over materials we never went over and that weren't in the textbook or in her Powerpoints. How are we supposed to study for something we haven't been taught or even told to teach ourselves? Frustrating. I'd take another professor.
I actually have great respect for Prof. Chandler because i can see she is really wants you to learn the material. She makes you work hard, but hey! what do you expect? This is A & P. You can't expect to be spoon fed. If you work hard and show that you are serious, you will pass. I will strongly recommend her if you are serious about learning.
Dr. Chandler is a good teacher. She will push you and will make you find the answer yourself. She will never just tell you. She's at open lab every weekend and will totally help you. She will also provide lots of extra credit. She does include a lot of material in each test so stay on top of it by reading and studying every day.
Overall a good teacher. She is extremely enthusiastic about anatomy, and generally cares about her students doing well. Gives easy questions for extra credit on tests. I studied the material very well and did not find the tests hard or confusing. Anatomy requires lots of studying, so if you don't study, the teacher can't help you.
Really brave woman knows her stuff, cares about her students well being. She teaches like a Havard teacher she awesome I highly recommend her to everyone who is not lazy of course. Ride in her train of knowledge and you will love her. Thank you for all the knowledge you have provided me.
Anatomy is a difficult subject, and there is a lot of information to get into the semester. The BIL class is definitely the way to go. The online material and self study style allow more time to digest the material. Chandler answered an email at 100 am in a clutch situation.
anatomy is just hard, so no matter what you will have to study your butt off. she is nice and helpful and really wants everybody to succeed. I took the BIL class and evidently all the material is the same across the board, so the prof really didn't have a choice in test material, etc.
Dr. Chandler is a very knowledgeable professor and does a very good job explaining things if you speak up. If something is unclear, KEEP ASKING HER TO EXPLAIN. She will continue to reword things and get out models until you understand 100%. She has open labs and is great at responding to emails. She is also pretty funny if you sit in the front.
very nice teacher do not go by the feedback she is not for lazy she is for hard working folks.
Avoid this professor if you can. Anatomy is a tough course however this lady does not help the situation at all. She is the one of the worst professor I have ever dealt with. Good luck to anyone who takes her class. Be prepared to teach yourself the material. No test reviews
She is a great instructor. You have to do the work and be prepared for class. Very helpful especially during open labs. Lots of opportunities for extra credit. Very knowledgable. I thought she was more than fair with grading. If you do the work she will help you make sense of it. I only wish I could take her for physiology
Good teacher the best i have ever had. She cheers up students want student to be good in their job. She teaches people to be elites
I don't usually leave reviews, but I really enjoyed Aglaia's teaching method. It was straight-forward, I loved her lectures (they were interesting and not too lengthy), and I really respected how knowledgeable she is. I think maybe she's gotten reviews saying she's difficult simply because the subject matter (human anatomy) is difficult.
If you take A&P with her, she will expect alot from you. There will be alot of, "you should know, it was on the assesment test" and "this is a flip course I can't baby you". You can be successful in this class but it will take alot of effort on your part and alot of free time to complete the work she gives you. Do not take if you have no time.
I am now a respected Neuro ICU Nurse. The first medical course I ever took was an 8 week summer Intro to A&P course with Aglaia. She is down to the point and to this day my amazing bodily knowledge of how it works from basic to in-depth is thanks to paying attention to everything she said for 8 weeks. Thank you Aglaia. Bless you.
I cannot say enough about her. She is amazing. Some people hate her which doesn't makes sense. She's a greek woman which may be overwhelming because of her accent but she is amazing! The material is hard but she curves towards the end and really cares about her students. Make sure she knows your name and that you have fun with her. She's awesome
Tips for success. SIT IN THE FRONT, talk to her a lot, answer questions, go to the open lab, show her you care. You will be fine if you study hard. She gives out some extra credit and curves the grades at the end. She wants to be treated like a human, not an evil professor because she's not. One of the hardest goodbyes I had. I took her both semest
Sense it's now Human Antony & Physiology you'll be learning everything all at once for each unit, reading is a must & before lecture. She is organized, she will tell you what the lecture & lab will be about. If you care about your A, you have to study for it. Have questions & she's available during office hours. I took her for A&P I & II
Dr. Chandler is amazing. She is incredibly intelligent, very caring and works her butt off. Some people are put off by the fact she is Greek, they don't respect the fact there are cultural differences. I loved her. She will help you and explain everything to you. Do your work before hand, do your reading, study and freshen up on older concepts
I'm a self taught learner, if you struggle in teaching yourself then this class isn't for you. Always be prepared before coming to class. Studying & reviewing is extremely important. Dr. Chandler is really knowledgeable and caring, but don't expect her to baby you. Go to open lab & take advantage of extra credit & of the comprehensive final exam.
Dr. Chandler was a wonderful professor. I worked for the A I earned but I also know the material better because she made me work for it. Having essay questions on a test for A&P was different from any other professors I took but it also pushed me to know the material better. Respect her, she deserves it. Get the book and come prepared.
I expected a great professor via these reviews; worst I've ever had. Teach yourself. Doesn't use class time to lecture (90% lab, 10% lec.) She's not available outside of class. Doesn't provide reviews. Don't expect to balance her class with others. Search her name under Texas State University; I wish I'd seen those reviews before taking the class.
"This course is a modified flipped classroom, requiring internet access. Students review content online before class and then during class work with other students to complete hands-on activities, case studies, assignments, and receive guided instruction. This approach allows students to spend more time interacting." Dissections are MUST!
AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS. Extremely tough exams and little to no feedback if you ask her questions. She reads the lectures in a super boring voice and gets into verbal confrontations with the students. You need to be prepared to learn everything on your own. I would say she's worthless as a professor but that would be too kind.
Check out her rating from Texas State; It is much more accurate as to what youll be getting from her as a professor.
Dr. Chandler is an intelligent, great and caring professor but she does expect for her students to behave like self sufficient adults.
If youre a lazy millennial than this teacher is not for you. If youre serious about mastering the processes of the human body than she is for you.
If you want to actually learn and not just memorize facts then this class is for you. Yes, you must spend a lot of time out of class to learn the material before going to class, but you will find that you will understand it better when she goes over the material during lecture. Dr. Chandler helps her students and expects you to be mature.
Dr. Chandler can be nice if she is having a good day. her course is any harder than any other professors. My issues is the way she talked to students, she will belittle you and talk down to you regularly. Saying things like you have an elementary mentality, or you act like you are in high school.
worst professor I have ever had. Wish that I would have checked here first. She gets annoyed if you ask any questions, and does not know how to answer them. Exams are HARD. There are so many better biology profs at ACC, save your time.
Ok, this is probably unpopular opinion, but I feel like I really benefited from Dr. Chandler's class. It is hard, but she teaches you something invaluable: how to learn, study, and remember. I feel like her class really changed the game for me, as far as how to think about concepts and relate them to one another. You will learn the material!
Dr. Chandler is incredible. She is a tough prof, no question, and expects you to be an adult and take responsibility for your learning. But if you do your part, she certainly does hers, and you'll learn like you never have before. From a curriculum planning standpoint, her course is one of the best-designed I've ever taken.
Shes really not as bad as these reviews say
Dr. Chandler is there to get stuff done. She does not sugar coat things, nor is she the friendliest professor. She would even sometimes talk down to the students and treat us like we were in high school. I got the credits that I needed from her class and that was it. She requires the textbook but I never used it and did very well in her class.
Havent finished the course yet but its already clear what an amazing professor I have in Dr. Chandler. I know that I am actually learning and pushing myself harder than I ever have and I love it!!!
I wish I could give 0 stars. I dropped the class which is saying a lot because I have never dropped and have taken other difficult classes. Retook this course with a different professor and got an A+. Chandler makes this class unnecessarily hard. She doesnt explain things clearly AND she gets angry if you ask questions. Worst professor ever.
If, you are not taking other courses, not working and are able to study 24 hrs for her class go for it. But If you are working taking other courses and demonstrate you understand the basis of the material you will get a C. She want's you to know the smallest details and correct spellings. Open ended questions are long and tedious on her tests.
Dr. Chandler is by far the best professor I have ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed her lectures and labs. There are no reviews for tests but this forces you to learn all of the material. I am taking her for A&P II this summer because I know she is the best. I did very well in her class but more importantly I retained the material. Great experience!!
She's not that bad! This is a flipped class so you have to do the notes before coming to class. This class is all about self-study. No test review but I feel her tests are not hard when compared to the concept. Extra credits a lot, I actually made more than the total points! Must have textbook to easily understand. 4* because of boring lecture.
Dr. C is not always great at explaining concepts. Often handouts given for lab didn't match up with the supplies actually available. Study guides take forever to complete and she doesn't like if you complete them with a word processor rather than pen/pencil. Many "critical thinking" assignments where the answers aren't just "in-book" knowledge.
Take her A&P II in this summer for 8 weeks. She's not good at explaining the concept but she's caring about her students. She provides all the materials for you to get a good grade but you have to work for it. Her tests are fair to those who take time to study. She offers a bunch of extra credit so you definitely can make more than the total one.
I took Dr. Chandler for A&P 1 in the spring and A&P 2 during her 8 week summer course. I strongly recommend taking her for both parts of the course like I did. I learned a lot and I made grades Im happy with. I respect/admire this woman for so many reasons. Im really going to miss her. Thank you Dr. Chandler <3
I took Dr. Chandler's Anatomy & Physiology I course during the 8-week summer session. Be prepared; it involves a LOT of work outside the classroom. That said, Dr. Chandler is very fair and recognizes hard work; with all of the extra credit points, my final grade was over 100. I enjoyed her class and I'm taking her again for A&P II in the fall.
Took over 8 wks. For me, it was at least 4-6 hrs a day of prep for lecture/lab (homework, guided notes, etc). Dr. Chandler's knowledge of this material is impressive, but she expects you to be prepared. Required work seemed overwhelming, but it allowed me to tell a story about the A&P (especially physiology) rather than memorizing it.
She yelled at us in every class. She would yell at us for not answering her questions but it was because we were all too scared to answer her questions or else she would yell at us. This class isn't TOO bad except for being yelled at. It's a flipped classroom so there is TONS of outside work. (27 page guided notes 2x/week)
I took both A&P I and II with Dr Chandler and have the greatest respect for her as a professor. You'll need to put in long hours to complete all assignments/case studies/virtual labs and study for quizzes/exams, but she offers extra credit and is very helpful in her open lab. I earned better than 100% in both classes, and learned a LOT. Love her!
Finished with a 101% and I will never take a class with her again. Childish, rude, hypocritical, impatient, tardy. Treats students poorly, fills class-time with fruitless activities/handouts, is unintelligible in lecture. Exam questions are vague, some require an artist to complete. Set aside 10-12 hrs./week for a study group and you will succeed.
I really enjoy taking her class, its completely straight forward. However if you are really sensitive beware! She will call you out and hold you responsible for being wrong in front of the whole class. I call that pure motivation while others may get their feelings hurt. If you thoroughly complete all assignments you will learn a lot! :) !
She knows her stuff and can answer any question, if you haven't asked it before. Class was online bc COVID. She is behind on technology, but tried to keep up. Test online are MUCH easier than her test in class. She is very rude and will not repeat what she has gone over.
Dont do it. She cares whether you learn the material, but she doesnt actually teach it. If you have questions in class, she yells at you and judges you for not knowing everything immediately. Youre expected to know it from the insane (literally unachievable) amount of homework, notes, modules, review quizzes, and tests (graded 3+ weeks later)
Quite possibly the worst professor I've ever had. She is unclear about instructions/expectations for the class, is incredibly rude to students for either not knowing the answer or answering something wrong, and is wildly unorganized (lectures are all over the place, and it takes 3+ weeks for her to grade exams). Avoid her at all costs!
AVOID. Wants you to learn and she knows her stuff but the insane amount of material presented is not possible in summer class. No test or class curves/exceptions/tiny bit of extra credit. Very confusing, unorganized online set up. Def take someone else if possible.
Took this during COVID. Chandler was very unorganized. She'd send emails at 12AM about what to review for the next class when our class was next morning at 8. She never had anything graded on time. Didn't find out what I made on exam 3 til class was over. Always talked to my classmates like were children/ idiots. Save yourself a headache and AVOID.
Take her as a last resort. Rude, unprofessional, unorganized, slow grader. If you read the text for 5 hrs/day you'll get an A. Her lectures are confusing and she takes personal offense if you don't already know A&P like the back of your hand. Yells at students who answer her Qs wrong. Then got angry at us for not answering her Qs. Cant win. AVOID.
I have mixed feelings about this professor. She asked us questions during class and would go after us if we could not answer her questions. However, she offered opportunities for extra credit. To do well on this course, make sure to study days before the exam because there is alot of information to memorize.
Took this as an 8 week course and would not recommend it if any of these are true: you work full time, you have children you need to parent, or you're taking other classes. This will be your full time job. I studied 5 + hours daily plus her class 3 hours in the evenings. Very difficult; I taught myself most things. Prof cares/is available to help.
She is a little difficult, but she does push you to think outside of the typical lecture questions. Just do the material ahead of time and follow the calendar she provides. Yeah she will email you at midnight for things that we will need the next day, but its also in the calendar! Studying is a must and yeah you have to know your stuff!
I would not recommend her. Shes very rude and just gets mad when you try to give her an opinion. Ive been reading a few reviews and they all sound about right. She treats us like idiots. The way she sets her lab exams are the worst as well. We tried telling her about using lock browser instead and she just kept getting bothered by it.
By far one of the worst professors I have ever had in all my years of being in school. Very rude, unprofessional, and discouraging towards her students. You will not know your grade in the class till the last week of class and spends more time talking about AP1 more than AP2. Please avoid her at all costs.
Dr Chandler was awful! Your tests are 120+ questions and 80 minutes (no joke), she yells at you the entire class because you didn't answer the way she wanted to hear, it's T-3 days until the semester is over and we have 6 of 38 grades in (so NO ONE knows their grade), she goes 10-30 minutes over class time, and I could go on forever...
Lab practicals are taken on both zoom and blackboard. Impossible to know what minuscule item the arrow is pointing to? Could it be more vague? How about using the anatomy models that we studied? Why try to trip students up? Isnt the premise of teaching to make the complex simple? She makes the complex more difficult. Avoid! 0rating. Terrible.
Dr. Chandler is the WORST professor I have ever had! She berates students when they answer in a way she doesn't like, is super strict, and extremely rude! Don't even get me started on the endless paperwork, homework, and confusing/disorganization of it all... I'm so confused on how to be successful in this class and Dr. Chandler will NOT help.
She gets upset and condescending if you don't answer her questions correctly when she calls you out in class randomly. The tests are based on the objectives, but with the amount of assignments we have to do, I could never find time to study- I work full time & the time outside of class was just to complete hwk. I took her for summer and had to drop
Dr. Chandler is very knowledgeable and knows her stuff. However this does not translate well to teaching students. She expects everyone to know everything even before class and reads off powerpoints. Assignments are hard to track and poorly organized. Not sure I learned much. Was THRILLED to get a C and be done with the class and move on.
I had to drop this class because it was so much work. Her tests are extremely difficult and theres no multiple choice or word banks for the lab exams, its all fill in the blanks. She was extremely blunt and can be rude to students in front of the whole class which made me nervous to participate. I would STRONGLY recommend using any other prof
Technology is a major issue disrupting learning. Black board not clear with assignments, labs not updated for online learning. The professor requires us to zoom are hands which takes 30min+ taking lab practical. The teacher can remove this issue completely with using respondus lockdown browser. In addition to test, there is no feedback on errors.
Bad at lecturing, just ignore them and use the textbook and slideshows. Basically, her salary is a waste of money; youtube is a better teacher. Often rude to students in online lecture. No idea what my grade is because nothing has been uploaded to blackboard and its almost the end of the semester. Labs are well organized and somewhat useful.
She always puts tests up late , never grades on time, isn't a good teacher overall
Take ANYONE else! Often publicly shames students in class. Not available outside of class except Saturday's and Sunday's, no exceptions. If you work weekends, she doesn't care. Lab exams are excruciating, will not use respondus, she makes you log into Zoom on your phone and Collaborate on your laptop so SHE can literally look over your shoulder.
She gave so much homework I kid you not for one week alone she gave 44 pages of homework. She has no organizational skills. I couldn't figure out how to turn in an assignment. When I asked for help she just told me to go to blackboard and figure it out. She also didn't send any information about the first day of class until an hour before the class
CHOOSE ANYBODY ELSE.. I'm glad I left
I DO NOT RECCOMEND TAKING HER COURSES. I took the 2401/1308 paired class. The way both of these classes were ran, graded, and organized was a nightmare. Absurd amount of printing, Weeks to get back test grades Absolutely no feedback on where your grade was. No respect of students time and other classes Class interaction is a nightmare.
She would give an overload of homework. I suggest only taking this class if you don't work, don't have any responsibilities, and aren't taking any other classes. You will fall behind and fail. I took a summer course and decided to withdraw because of the amount of work. You won't have time to study because you'll be too busy trying to catch up.
Do not take this class, she is unorganized, will make up due dates as she goes and they do not match up with the tests and quizes. Get ready for 10+ hours a day spent on this class and still no time to study due to the amount of paper work she gives you. If you have kids, a job, any obligations at all, you will not pass this class.
Professor Chandler would yell at us and berate people if they answered the questions wrong or were unsure-gave me bad anxiety. That being said, she is very knowledgable and its a hard class either way. I took this class when Covid first hit and had a lot going on, couldve gotten a higher grade if I had studied more-the tests are straight forward.
I took the paired 2401/1308 with Dr. Chandler for 10 weeks in the summer. I will say if you have any obligations it will be hard to pass this class. I worked the entire summer while taking this course along with 2 other courses and I'm shocked I made it through this class it was pure h***. The best thing you can do is get a good study group
Took her class after reading all the bad reviews and I am glad I did. She is passionate about the subject which can be perceived as "too direct" or "intense", which students who have difficulty being given strict direction will struggle with. If you're not sensitive, she's a great professor to have. Lecture tests online and lab exams in person.
Took her for both API and II because I like the layout of her course. Lecture exams online and practicals in person. AP II is more intense than I, and you have to study and stay on top of assignments and material to succeed. She cares about her students, so take advantage of office hours or after class for questions on class material or career.
She was effective at teaching the material. I enjoyed being in her class. She cares about what she teaches, and I will admit her tests were complex if you are not studying, but this being your last course on your final journey to your career, you need to understand the processes thoroughly! I would definitely take her as a professor again!
Do not take if you have a job and other classes. You will not know your grade (besides tests) until literally the day grades are due. There is so many notes to fill out (guided but like 70+ pgs/week). Her lectures are extremely unorganized and all over the place. Expect a rant almost every class period, taking away from class time.
She required so much paperwork that there was no time to work, study, or have any obligations.( i'm not exaggerating) She jumped from subject to subject with out any warning, expected everyone to follow along, and refused to record classes. If you have nothing else going on in your life and/or have a photographic memory, then you'll do alright.
First two exams are 93 questions long with 1 hour to complete.Last 2 exams are 160 questions long and also 1 hour to complete. The only way to pass this course is to do the extra credit quiz reviews for 20 extra points. She'll only refer you to the syllabus when you have a question. she responds quicker to students who are doing well in her course.
This professor is not for the weak. She expects you do put in the work and know your stuff. There is extra credit opportunities and plenty of tutoring hours available. I'd suggest this professor if you actually want to learn and take in as much information as possible. It might be hard for people who work long hours or have small children at home.
Dr chandler is very strict and may not be the professor for everybody but I feel as though she cares about your career and prepares you for success.
Dr. Chandler is always happy to critique her students, but is not very proactive when it comes to teaching actual course material. She calls her class a "flipped course" but this is a lie, she simply wants to be able to blame her students when they fail to grasp the material. Expect to write twice as many notes with half the support.
Dr. Chandler definitely knows her stuff, but she makes it really hard to learn any of it. She's frequently rude to students who answer questions (expect her tell you to *think* at least once a class), doesn't explain anything in her lectures without being prompted, and is extremely disorganized. Expect to be confused, avoid if possible.
took the paired summer class with Dr.Chandler, This class had a lot of easy graded assignments and notes. There is 1 lecture online, no lock-down browser &1 in-person timed Lab per unit. She gives some bonus questions & other extra credit. A conshe can be direct or blunt when responding to student's do not take it personal, she is overall a great.
I actually dropped this class in the first two weeks because I was having panic attacks from how Professor Chandler teaches and the workload. She is funny and very smart and I can see where some may excel with her particular style. However, if you are an anxious person who has a job, kids or anything else going on do not take this class.
She is AMAZING. she wants to see you succeed and will do whatever she can to help. She is a little loud but she is not yelling at you, she is just easy to hear :)
Dr. Chandler runs a demanding class, but if you're willing to put in the effort, it can be very rewarding. Utilize resources like study groups and platforms like unstuckstudy to stay on top of the workload. It's a tough course, but manageable if you're dedicated.
She comes off as abrasive but she is a really good teacher and cares about the material and CARES ABOUT THE STUDENTS. I really liked her and wish their were more teachers like her. If you do the notes, and homework and study for the lab exams you'll be fine. The lecture exams have a lot of questions but are very passable. Highly recommend Chandler.
I loved this class!Dr.Chandler is very passionate about what she is teaching and extremely knowledgeable.I would see her for office hours and she spent a lot of time helping me.If you show that you want to learn and ask questions she will help you until she feels like you understand.I learned SO MUCH in this class.I went on to take A&PII with her.
I took her for a summer class. I had a difficult time in this class not because of the subject material (which was easy) but the requirements for uploading and submitting homework. I messed up submitting my homework because of how confusing the upload instructions were. I didn't realize I was doing it wrong until it was too late.
Honestly, one of the best professors I've had. Especially because it was an accelerated class. learned my name by the 3rd class and had a personal connection with everyone. If you are disciplined you will do well in her class. she cares.
She is an amazing professor. This class does take a lot of effort, but is a really good instructor. As long as you put in consistent effort, you will do well in her class. She wants her students to do well and cares a lot. I took the paired BIOL & A&P class, and it was homework heavy but all of it was applicable for both classes.
I love this professor, she really cares. She has a lot of tutoring hours and extra credits. As long as you put in the work and don't fall behind you will be fine. And this is coming from someone who hasn't been in school for 8 years!
I took her online class and it was awful. The material is easy to learn but the way she wants you to submit the work is SO confusing. Had to drop the course a week before it was over because she refused to give me a good grade (even if I had most of the correct) if it was submitted on different PDF's or if she didn't like the way you submitted it.
Do you wish to feel belittled, cornered and confused? Then this is right for you! The professor by themselves is not bad (Personality 1:1 wise) , but their teaching style is disorganized modules playing where's waldo. Expect to be belittled once a class. You can learn more by going over what material she has in the modules than when she lectures.
