Such an extremely hard class. It will take away any and all free time you have. She has a very thick accent so its hard to keep up and the weekly quizzes are over things that she hasn't taught so google will be your best friend. The reviews are usually a hundred questions long. The test are extremely difficult. Avoid her if you can.

You can't understand her, she's very unhelpful, she gives a ridiculous amount of work, and her tests are impossible. I spent more time on this class than all other classes combined. 260+ question quiz due the morning of the final. The only extra credit is based on attendance to SI sessions, and you'll need to go to pass. TAKE ANYONE ELSE.

Dr. Chandler, while teaching "Biology for NON-MAJORS", believes everyone should, and will, be in the science field. She told a music major that the student wouldn't get anywhere in life. You can't understand half of what she says in her Greek accent, and, when she lectures (every class), it's a lesson behind the online homework.

Chandler was the worst professor I had this semester. She's hard to understand and her powerpoints and notes are poorly organized. Book is a must have in order to pass. Quizzes are awful. Each quiz takes at least 2 or more hours to properly do. Tests are hard and be sure to study everything because her study guides mislead you.

Don't bother. She is nearly impossible to understand, and can be rude. The online quizzes can take hours to finish, and she doesn't mention when there is one posted. Her long study guides don't help prepare you for her exams, and her power points are nearly 100 slides each. If you're looking to fail a class, by all means, take her then.

She is very, very, rude and sarcastic. She has a accent that is not understandable. She stutters. I studied very hard for this course and the tests were too hard, nothing like her reviews and it focuses on little things instead of the basics of biology like it should. If you want to fail a class, take Chandler. Her class is extremely difficult and her thick accent is very hard to understand. I know for a fact that over half of my class failed. The ones that were lucky enough to pass had to teach themselves because you will not learn anything in her lectures. Online quizzes took hours and were honestly no help.

Be prepared to get nothing out of her lectures. They are confusing and impossible to follow. Tests are very difficult, I passed one test. Online homework is time consuming and useless, just google all of it. The one good thing is she does give extra credit for attendance, this is the only reason I got a B in the course. Good luck... This is by far the worst teacher I have ever taken. She has the worst accent making it impossible to understand her and she has reading quizzes every week that can take about two hours to complete and her tests are for bio majors. My last test and final are also on the same day. DO NOT take this teacher you will definitely regret it.

Constantly late to class. On the first exam the test didn't even being until 30 minutes into the class due to Dr. Chandler's tardiness. Within the first class it was obvious her lectures wouldn't be very beneficial with her thick Greek accent and scattered thoughts. Very boring class. Don't recommend.

Her class is completely unorganized. The online quizzes have no relevance to the tests. All she does is read off of her ppts that are repetitive. She is rude and sarcastic when you answer a question wrong. She is a smart woman, but cannot teach at all, plus she has an accent. If you want to fail a class, take this one. Horrible experience. She's mean and sarcastic if you answer a question wrong in class, and she cannot teach. May take attendance every once in a while. Also, she is late to class every day if you have her TR at 5:00. Don't take this class with her.

I go to SI's and I understand everything yet the test are still ridiculously difficult. Her power points are scattered and she places Exam 4 same day as the Final. Very discouraging to science majors, a lot of my friend's having to change majors.

I don't generally complain about teachers, but I have to make an exception for Mrs. Aglaia. The biggest hurdle was not knowing what to expect for tests and the sheer mass of information (not covered in class) given through TRACS that she expected us to know. I showed up to every class, turned in every homework assignment, but I still struggled.

Avoid at all cost. What a waste of what could be a good class. Why does the university keep a professor that is so bad. You can't understand her and her goal is to fail students. Take an online class instead

I felt like her lectures were extremely simple compared to the tests she gave. I went to all of the SI sessions, never missed a class, read the textbook cover to cover, and still only made a C. Dr. Chandler really makes you work for the grade, but it's far from easy. She teaches pretty fast, but doesn't make it easier for you to understand, so you end up teaching yourself. If you take this class, I would start cracking up the textbooks and powerpoints and make sure you know every little detail.

She made a statement on my first day of class saying "I don't care to hear about how many of your grandparents die. they can't all die. therefore attendance is required for this class". She also would be late to every exam day.

I have to retake Bio 1 after transferring here and got stuck with her. My community college's Bio 1 professor was miles better than her. If I was a freshman I'd be ruined by this class. It's extremely time consuming and quiz laden; plus you'll have to teach yourself most of it. She will also patronize people who ask questions in class. Beware.

She can be funny, but is teaching higher level things. If you do not know much about biology do not take her class, SI sessions were not helpful in my case. She can be rude, and will call you out if she feels what you said is "stupid." I do not recommend this class. Thick accents should not be allowed for courses this difficult.

Chandler is god awful. You can't understand a word she says, she doesn't care about her students in the slightest, and she makes the class impossible. You HAVE to read and take notes from the book or you won't pass the tests. Do not take this class with Chandler, it's hard enough as is. Don't make things worse for yourself.

She has an accent that, after a while, becomes annoying. Make you sure you read your book and do her study guides and then some. It takes a lot of time to grasp how she will test you on the material. You have to know your stuff backwards and forwards. Attendance is randomly taken throughout the semester.

Dr. Chandler has a thick greek accent that is hard to understand and she flies through material as if we're just reviewing. Majority of her review material has nothing to do with what's actually on the test so good luck. I stopped going to class and started going to the SI sessions instead (they break things down for you). Do the extra credit.

The material of this course is really hard. Dr. Chandler basically makes you teach it all to yourself. There are quizzes due every Sunday night and the tests aren't really confusing (if you study). Chandler really does have a pretty thick accent but ya get used to it after a while. If you go to SI and study the book you can get an A!!

She has no sympathy if you don't understand a concept and does not explain material well during class even if you ask questions. Save your confusion for your SI. One of the most hardest professors I've taken at Texas State so far. She has a very thick accent that can be hard to understand. Lengthy homework due every Sunday and reviews (over 200 Qs that didn't really help) due on test days. SI sessions are helpful.

Hardest professor I have had so far. If you don't go to class, you simply won't pass. She uses attendance as extra credit and will take role RANDOMLY. Tests are very very very hard. Its really all self taught because her lectures are literally pointless. Everyone goes for the attendance.

Biology is already difficult but chandler doesn't help you at all. she gives you lot of study materials but her tests are too detailed and nothing helps. She also give a lot of homework. you have online homework due between 80-100 questions weekly. she only take attendance like 5 times each semester and if you go to at least 3 you get extra credit

For non bio majors (which most of the class was) this class was a joke. we had stuff on the reviews that the SI's didnt know the answers to. Hard to understand. Expects way to much from you given what the class actually is.

Hardest class i've ever taken. She speaks Gibberish, lectures over the most irrelevant information, and makes her test as tough as possible. The book is the only way I survived, and SI if it doesn't interfere with schedule. If anything the lecture will get you confused (especially if you're a non-Bio major). She is by far one of the WORST professors I've EVER had! Her weekly quizzes on Mastering Biology are tedious. Her accent is VERY hard to understand. She teaches this course as if it was for BIO majors only. Unless you're a Bio major and just get this stuff easier b/c it's what you enjoy than forget it, in her class you basically teach yourself!

This is how I got my A: Read and FULLY understand all the powerpoints, if you don't understand something then use the textbook and youtube videos until you completely understand it. Final is what saves your grade if you studied the basics. Extra points and some test questions comes from Masteringbiology. My friend got a B without opening the book.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This was one of the worst classes I've ever taken in my entire. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you better believe I showed up to every class because her lecture slides are not complete and are confusing. GO TO SI SESSIONS. They will be your life line. she was my last resort and i ended up having to drop the class bc i had failed the first two exams along with 80% of the class and she let us know that our chances of passing the class were slim at that point. she belittled at least one student every class. it got so bad to the point where nobody even wanted to try and answer her questions anymore.

Grades count for like your whole grade. Each exam is 16.8% the final is 33%. Attendance is not required, but she offer extra credit for attending. This course ends up being self-teach, since she moves really quickly you'll have to go back and re read the material. DO NOT TAKE UNLESS YOU HAVE TIME TO DEDICATE TO THIS COURSE (or pick an easier prof)

I thought back in 2016 I did rate Professor Chandler. Y'all it's 2018 and I took her functional biology class back in 2016 and the reason I've taken the time to write this is because her class is that bad. DO NOT TAKE! I've had challenges before, but for this class was so bad I stopped going to my lecture and attended another professor's lecture.

This professor do not explain properly, and what she asks to study in the reviews is not even on the test. She needs more teaching skills. She thinks that we already know most of biology, but we are there to learn not to review the material. She says these is just a review, because you already supposed to know this.

She is an okay professor. Her reviews are not like the test. Sometimes the unit quiz that is VERY LONG has some answers of the test's bonus questions (like 5). She's kind of hard to understand. Class does not get canceled. But, truthfully you have to study REALLY HARD for this class. Also, she takes attendance at random so make sure to go.

Chandler is an incredibly smart professor. She really does know what she is talking about. But she expects her students to come into her class already geniuses on her material. I felt like all of her lectures are just quick reviews over subjects that we had not studied before. I would not recommend.

Second time taking AP2. Of all the classes I have taken in my college career so far, this has been by FAR the worse professor I have every had. Lecture materials are textbook and youtube videos (not her own). Timed exams are unrealistic. Feel like she has set us up for failure. Only passing because I am using study materials from other professors

I took her for a summer class for Biology 1308. I had a difficult time in this class not because of the subject material (which was easy) but the requirements for uploading and submitting homework. I messed up submitting my homework because of how confusing the upload instructions were. I didn't realize I was doing it wrong until it was too late.
