Shes a very good teacher. Knows how to make a class interesting with the help of videos, slides etc. If you are regular and do all the assignments you can get away with an A
worst class ever.........i took this class in highschool but didn't get college credit for it. so i figured i would take it again and it would be easy since i knew everything......not so she is hard to understand and everyone left before class was over because it was horrible. her procedures are rediculous and does not treat students like adults
very thick accent, random test questions, moves too quickly
I dropped this class first week. I couldn't understand anything she was saying. Drop it while you can!!!

I don't know what everyone else is thinking. Shes extreamly helpful, all outlines, lectures and test questions are online for you to look at whenever you want. She speaks with passion and is always appriciative of even the most incorrect of answers given in class. If you have any interest in the class you leave with all your questions answered.

HORRIBLE professor, boring, thick accent, hard to work with, treats everyone like kids. in a 400 plus class she yelles at one kid for reading a newspaper...1 kid, come on that is ridiculous. She is extremely hard on testing and grading, and I think the worst mistake I made was taking her class. I wanted to take REL100, but I am sorry I did now.
I really like her class and think that she has a great personality. She does a great job of presenting the material. The class is not hard at all if you take the time to read the chapters and do the study guide that she provides. I think that others do not like her because she demands respect...what's wrong with that?

Lets see, can't understand atleast one word per sentence she says. Misprononces words all the time making anything besides the premade notes impossible to work with. Studders and spends a good amount of time saying "Uh" as she figures out the word she's trying to use. Expects more work that my other 3 classes combine (including Lab). SHE SUCKS
needs to learn english
I think the class itself is pretty easy. The teacher provides you with everything you need. She does require a lot from her students an quite nit picky. A lot of vocabulary and dates to remember. However, she does warn everyone at the beginning of the year, and provides every resource online. She does treat students like elementary students.
she's a good teacher hard to understand at times, but i'll get over it
this lady has one thick french accent. every once in a while she slips into french. but its cool cuz i speak french and understand what shes saying. but the class is pretty freakin boring.
not fun strict tardiness policy, boring ass heck.
Ok well she's really hard to understand at first cuz of her accent but you get use to it as time passes. Her lectures are soooo boring though!!! The good news is that the class is really easy if you do all the assignments, which are not hard at all. So basically its easy as heck, but extremely boring....unless you're into the religons like buddhism, hindiusm and stuff like that.
Wow talk about the accent. I from england and i have issues. Her test are mad crazy but u never have to go to class just check blackboard after class for attendance and have you ever heard of copy and past who the hell is gonna check 400 answers to see if u copied.
She is extremely difficult to understand because she has a very thick accent.I am a fan of an intellectual challenge in a class and enjoy working hard in school but her class is almost all busy work and there is a ridiculous amount of it and I hate that.
Hmmm let's see, Are we kids here??? I didn't think so, but apparently this HORRIBLE teacher does. She is way to strict on attendance, Laptop Use, how we pay attention in class (in a class of 400 people she will yell at 1...ONE kid for reading a newspaper). She has a horrible accent and spends most of her time saying "uh". This is by far the WORST prof. I have ever had. And her tests, no matter how much you study, just suck.
Only college course i have ever taken where i have been SEPERATED from my classmates and had to sit next to her desk... ill take the E
How anybody could complain about how hard this class is and that Dr. Kefeli expects too much obviously hasn't paid much attention in class or skipped the first day. While she isn't the best speaker in the world, her lectures are online (with a few typos, but that's better than not having anything) and the homework is so easy, as are the tests.
I didn't like it
You cant understand her, she is no help at all but everything you need to know is online. Just read the lectures online, show up to class ate just to take an attendence quiz and an A will come easy.
dr. kefelli is very hard to understand cuz of her french accent, but youll get used to it hopefully. she says the word "uh" a couple thousand times in class and her voice is kinda annoying. but good this is that her class is easy because homework assigments are online and tests arent hard. all in all its easy but shes kinda strange lol
she gives a lot of in-class quizzes and a lot of homework on blackboard. BUT she does give a lot of opportunities for extra credit

She is a very nice lady. She has a French accent but you get used to it quickly. This class is not an easy A. Tests easily take 8-9 hours of study (not all in the same day believe me) to get an A. The class is boring as she lectures the whole time and she reads off the powerpoint.
This class could be an easy A if you put in the time for it. All the lectures are online and the in-class quizzes aren't hard. The class is much easier if you go to it but its extremely boring as she reads off her powerpoints which you could just get off the web at home. But still go to class, trust me.
Taught Islam in the Modern World and refused to teach current events - only taught historical events, even though the majority of the class had already taken History of Islam; gave long, boring lectures - by midterm, half of the class was gone.
Very annoying teacher - has a shrill voice that grates on your ears, yells at students for trivial things, and gives boring lectures - worst of all, has a strict attendance policy, so you can't even miss class - bring earmuffs!!
Maybe Prof. Kefeli is different in REL 100, but in 365 shes excellent. Shes very nice and is very, lets say "diplomatic" with superfluous questions or incorrect answers in class. And I like the accent, anyone who can't understand it needs to get out in the world and get some culture. The whole world isn't American, so get used to it.
Prof. Kefeli is a great teacher, shes enthusiastic and intelligent. People complain about her accent, but I think it adds to the sound of credibility to whatever she says, and its not at all hard to understand. She puts everything online so its easy to keep up, but it is a hard class if you not interested and motivated. But she keeps it interesting
I can't say I agree with everyone else. I think she's quite articulate, and I enjoy her accent. It's not like anything I've ever heard before, but I've never had a problem understanding what she was trying to say. I enjoyed this class - read the book and you'll be fine.
IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND HER DUE TO HER FRENCH ACCENT. SHE CONSTANTLY SEARCHES FOR WORDS TO SAY AND FILLS IN THE SILENCE WITH AN ANNOYING "UH". A LARGE AMOUNT OF THE CLASS IS DONE ONLINE AND SHE DOES ATTENDANCE CHECKS. THIS CLASS IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANYONE THAT DOES NOT WANT TO PUT IN MORE TIME INTO THE CLASS THEN THEY SIGNED UP FOR.
Dr. Kefeli is actually quite a nice person if she knows you show up to class, do all the work, and make an effort to learn. She forewarns you on the first day that the average grade in her class is a C. If you can't tolerate a little hard work and taking time away from your binge drinking, that's not Dr. Kefeli's problem; it's yours!
I enjoyed Dr. Kefeli's class. While it is sometimes difficult to understand her, she teaches using visuals and movies that are interesting. If you do the webwork and flashcards, it's an easy A. I learned a lot in the class.
I really enjoyed Dr. Kefeli's accent. She puts everything on Blackboard, so I can review easily. And she's really helpful during office hours.
She is the best teacher I ever had at ASU! She is helpful and cares for her students.
Good teacher but material is a little difficult. If you do her study guides and memorize your flash cards you shouldnt get less than a B on any test. A lot of work but I learned a lot.
great prof, provided all her notes on line . . . learned a lot about Islam, Judaism, and Christianity
Great prof, she put everything online. If you read her lectures and power points, you should do OK. Hard class, though.
Don't take notes in class, just go off of her online lecture notes. Basically, show up to class and sleep until you have to do a video guide (her form of checking attendance), and just study her online lecture notes for the few days leading up to the exam and you'll be fine. Remember to do the online quizzes and questions.
She's really helpful. You have to work hard, but she has lots of study guides. Good stuff on line, if you read it, you'll do ok
She knows Russian really well.
Agnes is a nice enough woman and a good teacher, but she is hard to understand and the material is hard. She puts everything on Blackboard which helps some.
If you make use of the study guides the professor provides, the tests and this class ARE SO RIDICULOUSLY EASY. It is really pathetic how many people are saying this class is hard. Come on, ASU. Get with it.
Not too hard once you take her advice and make CARDS for the study guide :)
Excellent teacher. She cares a lot about students. If you don't understand something, you can check the lectures that are on line. She also is really helpful during office hours. I would take another class from her.
Dr. Kefeli's accent CAN be difficult to understand, but over the semester it's honestly impossible not to get used to. I would not suggest talking her 3 hour lecture (can you say, unbearable?), But that's not because she's a poor teacher. She has a passion for religions, & puts everything on the web. Just be prepared to do A LOT of memorization.
Go to classes, read a book or something during lectures, take video notes, USE THE STUDY GUIDE AND MEMORIZE, and i promise you will get an A.
Great informational class- the teacher's knowledge on the subject is impressive but she has an impossible accent! Strict attendence policy- go to class or risk failing! Tests and homework are very fair. I learned a ton in this class but the hardest part was decoding what she was saying through a thick accent.

This class is so easy, I finished with a 108%. Extremly boring however, I wanted to kill myself twice every week.
If you dont like to work alot this is definitely not the class for you, the readings are long, plus you have tons of homework, plus three papers to write. You can hardly make out what she is saying. the attendence policy is too strict and you have to write all three papers to pass the class. It was definitely not my peice of cake!!!!
Clear presentation on powerpoint, clearly knowledgable about topic. Critical analysis of writing assignments - she wants you to learn how to read and write, which is good. Good class for students interested in learning.
Clear presentation on powerpoint, clearly knowledgable about topic. Critical analysis of writing assignments - she wants you to learn how to read and write, which is good. Good class for students interested in learning.
This was hands down my worst teacher ever! She should be fired. She grades incredibly hard and does not help you get ready for test. She does post all of her notes but the exams are rediculous. Her own quote was as follows "This class is not only about religion but also about teaching you to write well." Yeah thats why its a religions course..
Demanding homework and accent but overall interesting teacher.
She is by far the easiest teacher i've ever had. She posts ALL of her lecture notes, powerpoints, and study guides on the web. Easy homework once a week that you post online (and can read the rest of the class's answers before you send yours in). Some online quizzes that you can use your book & notes for. Study guides go along with test. EASY!!
booooooooooooooooooooring
Very difficult accent. Interesting class but she was unnecessarily harsh for a 100 level course. She seems very mean and yells at students on a regular basis.
Easy class. She posts the powerpoints to the lecture online and you can use them to study for the exams. Assigns online quizzes which are easy and open book. She shows a lot of videos but along with them gives out a quiz on the video. She also assigns student discussion through back board as an assignment for each chapter.
Most people find her boring, hard to understand and mean. But frankly I think she is hilarious and she gives you plenty of chances to pass her class. I've taken religion classes for over six years now and I can tell you it's not the teacher that is hard its the course you're taking.
very demanding and time consuming the readings were extremely long and not interesting her pwpts are on blackboard and include 70+ slides each but they didnt help that much for the tests her accent is hard to comprehend and her lectures are sooooooo boring i couldnt count how many times i fell asleep i seriously wanted to kill myself in that class
She is very smart and knows what she's talking about but I cannot stand to listen to her lectures. Her study guides are very helpful when it comes to taking the tests. Also pay close attention to the videos, that's where I learned the most. I slept through many of her lectures and I get A's on the tests but it requires A LOT of cramming!
Class is super easy. She gives 20 points extra credit on all tests. Just show up and pretend to pay attention, read the book and do the study guide for tests and you will get an A. She gives lots of busy work though. Too much homework but it was all easy. Just google answers for the quizzes.
Easy! 20-30 extra credit ?s on EVERY test! Open book quizzes online. Extra credit clicker exercises usually on thursdays. Videos in class with quizzes online on Thursdays too. She posts her lectures and study guides online, just use those for tests. It's necessary to study for tests but overall its really easy! I only went thursdays and got an A.
I took the late class, which was 3 hours, bad idea because a lot of the class is elctures, btu she has movies and clips to show you to keep it interesting. She's very sweet and if you make the cards the tests are so easy. Highly recommned, just make sure you do all the little things b/c they add up
she ****ed my life i completed 100 points extra credit assigment i worked hard on it...i didn't sleep 3 nights and i did lot of research and she only gave me 5 points....she gives lot of homework and lot of assignment...i recommend you guys don't take her class
Does not take crap from anybody. She is very helpful as long as you are proactive. Do not expect to be able to fly by! Dry humor, very knowledgeable, she has a thick accent, which can be difficult to decipher sometimes, but just ask for clarification during office hours. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO DO THE EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT.
I am an Engineering major and this class occupied more of my time than any other class that I have. The class is not particuarly difficult, but she assigns an absolutely OBSCENE amount of work. There is an incredible amount of material, not worth the effort at all.
this is by far the worst teacher i have ever encountered. Hard to understand and unclear. also makes tests hard and assigns a lot of homework. stay away!!!
i hated this class. she knows her stuff but is incredibly boring. she also assigns an incredible amount of work and if you don't do absolutely everything you will get a bad grade. tests are hard. study guides are long and time consuming. if youre just looking for an easy humanities credit, do not take this class!
I really felt that she was approachable and knowledgeable throughout the course. The workload might seem to get steep, but, if you're willing to seek her help, it can be made manageable.
I don't know what all the complaining is about. Dr. Kefeli is very knowledgeable and she's very helpful. There are a lot of discussion board posts and quizzes but you will learn a lot. Her tests are not hard if you study and she offers a ridiculous amount of extra credit. I loved her.
She knows her material but the class is very difficult. The information is covered very quickly and requires a huge amount of time outside of class. If you don't go to every single class you'll fall behind. She is helpful if you go to her offic hours and she does give a lot of EC but the tests are WAY to hard for a 100 level class.
Definitely steer clear as an engineering major. This class will take up time better spent on chemistry of physics. As long as effort is put forth, an A is possible, wish I'd done one or two more assignments. Not incredibly interesting class, but you'll learn a lot.
She speaks with an accent but after the first couple classes you can understand her. She covers a lot of material every class so attendance is definitely mandatory even in the large classes. Seemed approachable and gave out lots of EC
I was really interested in studying world religion before I took this class. REL 100 is easy if you've ever taken a real class in your life, and don't let anyone tell you differently.Clay is alright but this class is horrible to sit through.I'd recommend getting your G credit through another course.
Gives TONS of extra credit, tests are 100 multiple choice questions + 25 extra credit. Has accent but is easy to understand after a week. If you put forth any effort at all you can get an A.
Okay, so the only reason i rated her very hard was because i was shooting for an A+ and in order to do that in her class you have to get a 100%. Honestly, she is not hard at ALL. She gives 25 extra credit points on each test, she gives an extra credit paper worth 100 EXTRA CREDIT POINTS (which i regret not doing). I pulled off A+ w/o doing the papr
horrible teacher, got Cs and Ds on all the tests. your only hope is the extra credit paper she assigns but if your computer crashes an hour before the paper is due and did the entire thing for nothing then youre in trouble! the only reason i got an A was because i studied an entire 24 hours straight for the final, who needs sleep!
Great teacher. She has lots of information on line. Her power points are accessible, and even her lectures. She's really helpful in office hours.
she has a heavy French accent, she is funny, and she is really nice
I think Kefeli is a really great teacher ! I love that all the information for her class is online.. it sucks that she enforces attendance but overall I like her teaching and the class a lot. I am dying to know what religion she is BTW...
Her accent is really difficult to understand and she gives a great amount of online work including video quizzes and discussion exercises. Also you need to be in class because she gives clicker points that will either make or break your grade. She also told us that she wasn't experienced in the subject matter and was unclear in answering questions
If you attend class and pay attention Prof. Kefeli is brilliant and has an abundance of information on religions. She does an excellent job with a huge section of 100+ students, and her clicker excercises help with the material. Lots of work, but very much worthwhile.
Did not enjoy this class very much, tests were pretty confusing. The only good part was that she made the clicker points extra credit which were like 4 or 5 points each class
Covers a lot of info in her class but very interesting! Has a French-American accent but easy to understand after a day or 2, your ears adapt. She's got a great sense of humor & is enjoyable to listen to. Make flashcards, go to class, do online HW. Up to 25 EC Qs on exams; no harm if you get them wrong - do them & study & you'll get an A for sure.
She is really annoying and hard to understand at times. It's such a shame because this class could actually be enjoyable. A lot of time and effort is needed so if your looking for an easy A do NOT take this class. If i did not have patience for her antics and the time to study outside class i would not have an A.
This class was very difficult and time consuming. There is a ton of online homework and the tests are 125 questions although she gives extra credit on the tests and clicker questions in class. Without her extra credit points I would have failed. I would not take this class if you are not willing to work.
This class has potential to be a good class. However, Kefeli makes it seem like a grind. Mostly memorization. As others mentioned, the tests are 125 points. The good news is tests are graded out of 100 points and there is frequent extra credit.
This is supposed to be a 100 level class, but it is far more work than it's worth. Tests are long to begin with, and the final has 200 questions. Upon filling out the study guide, it was 31 pages long in a word doc at 10 pt. font! Her accent is hard to understand, and she sort of just throws info at you and wants you to memorize.
Kefeli is a great prof. C'mon people stop saying its hard. Yes its a lot of work but if you go to class pay attention you won't do bad in the class. Do the work and study. Its just memorizing. I got an A+ in her class and didnt even study that much for tests. Lots of EC. Really enjoyed this class dont know why ppl complaining for it wasnt that hard
This class was interesting.. but the professor gives so much god damn home work and the tests are terrible.
The material taught in class is interesting however it is very hard from time to time to understand what she is saying because of he accent. Also expect to do a ton of work which usually isn't as demanding in other 100 level courses I've taken. The tests are very long and extensive; if you want to make a good grade showing up to class is mandatory.
Easy to get an A. The main key to that is attend class and do the extra clicker exercise. It'll help to get at least an B before Final test.
I liked this professor a lot, still talk to her from time to time. Very kind, and if you approach her if your having a hard time, during her office hours, shes easy to talk to, and very helpful. One of my favorite professors
I loved her and her class. She's hilarious and she tells you specifically what to remember for her tests and gives so much extra credit that it's kind of hard to do bad on them if you actually take some time to study before taking them. Definitely recommend!
Overall the class was not to difficult if you kept up with the readings and made note cards to study for the exams. However, the teacher is terrible, she is hard to understand, she treats you as if your in 1st grade, and she really does nothing to help you out in the class besides a few extra credit points. My suggestion, find a different teacher
If you don't get at least a B you're not trying. There is 25 extra credit on every exam and extra credit questions in class almost everyday. Read the chapters, go to class and you'll get an A. And her accent isn't bad at all. Super nice and funny.
She is such an adorable lady! The only excuse for not doing well in this class is not putting the effort in. She gives more extra credit than any class I've ever had. It was an easy A. She has a thick accent, but you get used to it quickly and can understand everything she says. The most important thing is not to miss the lectures.
A lot of work for a 100 level class but TONS of extra credit offered. She is the sweetest little french lady who you can really tell tries to help her students.
Pretty easy class. The tests have a lot of information and are a little hard but there is SO much extra credit it'll make up for the points you miss. I got a d and a c on the tests and still got an a in the class. Make sure to do all the homework though and go to class because she has extra credit clicker points.
I had Agnes Kefeli-Clay for Religions of the World my first semester at ASU. She knows the content, but does not convey it very well. I am very interested in religious studies, but she somehow found a way to bore me with every lecture. The tests cover more than she does, but there is a considerable amount of extra credit.
She is difficult to understand because she has a heavy accent and she doesn't convey the material well at all. The class is difficult and a nightmare i recommend taking any other professor other than her.
This course is very tedious. There is a lot of busy work, however, it is very easy. Her exams are very long and for the most part fair with a lot of extra credit. Her lectures particularly on Buddhism are some what disorganized. Make sure you read the chapters. They are interesting and will clarify her lectures. Come to Class everyday for ATD pts!
DO the flashcards!! I easily turned an A+ into a B+ by not studying or creating flashcards. Do not be fooled at first, as how easy the course is. She will give out extra credit left and right but in the end, not studying will hurt you!
Kefeli is an awesome teacher- approachable, straightforward and knowledgeable. This class is NOT easy, but if yu attend regularly and do what she recommends as far as studying, yu will pass and probably get at least a B. Getting an A takes serious interest in the topic and dedication to the MANY suggested readings.
This was the easiest introductory course I've taken. There is a ton of busy work but you do learn from it. Dr. Kefeli is super clear in lecture and really stresses the material you need to know. She offers a ton of extra credit in class, so definitely go. Do the busy work, go to class, and you'll know all the test material.
Thick French accent. Can not understand huge portions of her lectures! Overcomplicates easy assignments.
Dr. Kefeli is really clear and very helpful. She puts all her notes on the web, so it's easy to follow her. I like her cute accent!
She has a thick accent, but if you sit close to the front it is not difficult to understand her. She is very helpful and sweet, and as long as you come to class and do the assigned work the class should not be very difficult! Making flash cards really does help, and the "busy-work" is great because it adds padding to your grade!
Very easy to earn extra credits and have a good grade on exam probably because all questions are multiple choice! Many assignment! She is so funny!
Dr. Kefeli is such an amazing teacher, she has a thick accent but you get used to it after a couple weeks. I recommend sitting in the front in order to focus and listen during her lectures. She is very helpful and gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities. If you pay attention to her lectures and study you will do well in this class :)
Professor Kefeli is incredible! She is so passionate about religion, which makes class enjoyable, even when the material may appear dull. Her accent is easy to get used to and she is always clear while teaching. TONS of extra credit and LOTS of busy work, but getting an A in this class is not at all difficult as long as you put in the effort.
WOW! Hey lady, this is a 100 Level Introductory class!!!! Assignments galore! The class is ridiculously hard! We spent 3 weeks on Shintoism!!! Do not expect to ever leave before class is supposed to be over! Extremely hard to handle or understand French accent makes it even worse. Way too hard for a 100 level class!!! Avoid like the plague.
A LOT of work for a 100 class. She sends out an average of 5 emails a day. You can tell she is passionate about religion and overall she is a good teacher, but dont take this for an easy class. She gives out a ton of work and sometimes its not even worth it. (2hr video + 17 questions= 5 pts) She does give extra credit points on tests and clickers
For a person with 0 interest in religion, the material was very dry, and it's so hard to pay attention in class. However, the amount of extra credit offered is ridiculous. I managed to get an A in the class, and honestly don't know a thing about religion. A lot of busy work, including annoyingly long and in depth DB's. Sweet lady!
Easy.. If you do your work. There is a lot of assignments but they are easy if you don't over think them. She only looks for effort. As for test, study your note guidelines and you will do great. Show up to class for extra credit points, and readings are 100% nessary but they are helpful.
Honestly this class is so boring. I zoned out the entire time. She is so nice but so incredibly hard to understand. She assigns SO much work and the study guides are very long. If you thoroughly complete study guides you should be fine. Even if you don't, she gives TONS of extra credit. I got D's on 2 of the tests and ended up with a B.
Class was too easy. If you go to her lecture and halfway pay attention she gives the answers to tests. Notes are provided in her work book. She spams blackboard and holds your hand then entire semester. Annoying but super easy.
Too much work with lot of extra credits. Follow her instructions and pay attention to what she emphasize in the class. I studied only her lecture notes for the exams and got an A+.
PURCHASING THE TEXTBOOK IS POINTLESS. as long as you have her workbook, you don't need anything else.VERY THICK FRENCH ACCENT. definitely hard to understand at times. never really directly will answer your questions either.
Kefeli is a fantastic professor. You can easily land a good grade in this class IF you're serious about your studies. It's a lot of busy work, all you need is the workbook NOT the textbook, although it is useful. Her TA's are awesome as well. Very interesting class!
She is the nicest lady. This class is easy to get an A in but there is a lot of busy work. Do not need the text book, but you do need to buy the workbook. Kind of a boring class, maybe cause i'm not religious. 4 exams, weekly discussion boards. It's a good class for a GPA boost if you do the work,&study for tests
She is a very nice woman, and it is very possible to do well in the class. As many others say, there is a good amount of "busy work", which can be frustrating. But she offers so much extra credit that you can skip a few assignments and still get a high grade. Most of your extra credit will be earned in class, which will also help on tests.
The class is incredibly easy. She practically gives you answers to exams by how much emphasis she puts on specific topics. Attendance isn't really a big deal, unless you want extra credit(which is done with clickers). Textbook is totally unnecessary, just buy her workbook. It's amazing, it's her lectures in note form. No reason one should not pass.
Worst professor ever. Dumbest choise I ever made to chose this class.. So much assignments, and it's impossble to understnad anything of what she is saying.
Professor Kefeli is clear with her instructions. She puts all her lectures on the web, and her workbook is really helpful. The thing i really liked was that she motivates her students. Overall she is one of the best professors at ASU.
This class was really hard but it was well worth it. Be sure to come to class every day, pay attention, and do your reading in the workbook and the textbook. This course is not for slackers. Prof. Kefeli is passionate about teaching world religions.
Professor Kefeli is a sweet lady who really loves to teach world religions and is very helpful to students, especially during her office hours. She's very demanding and the tests are hard, but she offers a lot of extra credit, so it's possible to do well even if you are not so good on multiple-choice tests. She offers a lot of good helpful advice.
Dr. Kefeli is a good teacher who puts alot of effort into helping students. Her lectures are all on the web, and her workbook is very useful. Be sure to get the textbook and come to class, because she covers what will be on the test in her in-class lectures. One of the best teachers I've had at ASU.
Super easy class with a decent professor. It's just a survey class, so the material is not the most interesting, but she makes it as interesting as possible.
Great prof!
It takes much effort in memorization, but the professor tells you everything you need for exams. She's great! Really interesting, but fast paced of major religions of world. Easy if you put the work into.
I personally loved the class. She's hard to understand at first, but you get used to her accent.Go to the lectures and you'll get A's on the exams.
Very interesting course if you are curious about other religions. Kefeli is very intelligent and loves what she teaches. The class is very easy if you stay on top of assignments. Do the work and you get an A++. Tons of extra credit. Don't put this class of though, it will bite you in the butt! Many assignments, just keep up.
There is a lot of work for this class, but it's mostly easy. The tests are pretty much just memorizing the massive amounts of vocab. She gives so much extra credit!
If you show up for class, take notes, and work on the study guides she gives, it's not too hard to get an A. The homework is almost always opinion based interpretations on texts. Gives like 170 total extra credit points. Pretty interesting
lots of work but overall a pretty good experience
She's extremely helpful and very enthusiastic. She has high expectation of students. Her class is not easy but she's really helpful during office hours, so just come and ask questions, she'll answer everything.
Great teacher! Her classes are some work, homework every week, but she does a great job teaching the material and makes it real. Glad I took her class.
Awesome teacher!
Homework every week, but it's not hard to get an A. Take her class
Absolutely wonderful teacher! She is very passionate about what she teaches. The workbook will be your best friend, so you don't always have to go to class. Lots of simple assignments to make it an easy A. I definitely recommend.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. SHE GRADES USING AN "ABC" GRADING SCALE MEANING AN 89.99% IS A 3.0...THIS CLASS RUINED MY SCHOLARSHIP BECAUSE I GOT A 89.87% SO I GOT A 3.0 IN THE GRADE. STUDIED FOR HOURS FOR THE FINAL ONLY TO FIND OUT HALF THE CONTENTS OF THE FINAL WERE NOT ON THE STUDY GUIDE. VERY LAZY TEACHER. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Very nice person. I got a B+, so I know that she does give pluses. Be sure to use the workbook, do the homework and the extra credit.
She has a strong accent which makes it difficult to understand her. I depended mostly on the text book and lectures posted online to learn the material. READ LECTURE NOTES ONLINE FOR TESTS! This class requires a lot of self teaching and effort but she offers a lot of extra credit points. I would recommend this class only if interested in material.
Take this class. i'm an avg. student & i got an A. she gives so many little assignments that the tests don't count for much. And she gives a TON of extra credit! i got all Cs and one B on my tests. Her instructions are very clear. Funny, helpful, caring lady. be sure you are interested in religion though or else it will be boring. great lectures.
Very interesting course. I learned a lot about religions I didn't know much about. Lots of extra credit. Be sure to attend class regularly to get clicker points. Tests are very challenging, but the extra credit helps. The tests do follow the study guides. All the lectures are on line.
Great professor, very nice lady. The course is pretty interesting, too. I never knew that there were so many religions. Lots of extra credit.
Memorize and Regurgitate how hard is that?read notes, attended class for clickers, did the assignments. If you can't hear her move to the front. Her accent isn't terrible unless you sit at the farthest ends of the room.
Dr. Kefeli is an excellent instructor. This is a tougher course, but she makes it interesting and really tries to make sure we understand the material. I was afraid when I first took this course because there is a lot of required reading, but I am ultimately intrigued by the subject and I am very impressed by Kefeli and her TAs. Amazing course
Excellent teacher! I loved her. 100 level class, but semi difficult. Follows along word for word in work book which makes everything very easy.
Brilliant and funny!
Dr. Kefeli is awesome!
CAREFULLY read the mentioned papers in the book. And u will get A+.
I was told this class would be easy.. It's not! Just make sure to read everything and always check blackboard for assignments. good luck
Should attend class if you want to make it easier for yourself come test time. Skipping and still passing is possible but you will give yourself twice as much material to self-teach, not worth it. Just go to class! Dr Kefeli is funny and keeps her lectures interesting. She puts a lot of effort in to make the class as easy as possible.
TAKE THIS CLASS, YOU WONT REGRET IT Kefeli is an amazing professor, but this is no easy class. Be ready to study, pay attention in lecture, watch the required videos, and complete ALL the assignments. If you are truly present during lectures and do the required work, you can easily obtain a 100% or higher in REL100! But be prepared to work for it!
Absolutely hated this class. WAY too much work for a 100 level class. Attendance is "strongly encouraged" but she has in class quizzes almost every class period, so if you want to pass it isn't optional. Treats her students like they are 5 and is extremely condescending. Will not take another Religion class or another class taught by her.
I ABSOLUTELY hated this class. She is the worst teacher I have ever had. Way too much assignments due for a 100 level class and all she does is yell. The assignments are very hard as well. I will NEVER take a class from her again.
Professor Kefeli was very helpful! She does require a lot of work, but as long as you take pride in your work and actually do it, you'll succeed in her class! I highly recommend her!
Dr. Kefeli gives lots of guidance on blackboard . . . just about everything is posted, and she sends lots of reminders. Lots of assignments, but also lots of extra credit, which was helpful in my case. Kinda cute accent . . . she's pretty nice . . . I'd take her again
Pretty good class. I learned about religions I had never heard of. Tests are multiple-choice and pretty hard, but all the lectures are on line and there's a lot of extra credit and clicker points. Be sure to get the textbook and the workbook--you'll need them.
Super fun class. She is really passionate about what she teaches and will always help if you need it. She offer a lot of bonus points so you can get a c on all the tests and still pass with an A. Best class I have taken. Does have a lot of homework but you don't need to do it if you get an a on all the tests. TAKE THIS CLASS YOU WON't REGRET IT
Dr. Kefeli is an amazing professor. Her class is rigorous and she does give out a lot of reading quizzes, but it is very doable. She also provides study guides for tests and lots of opportunities to earn bonus extra credit points. She warns you from the beginning what to expect from her class. I definitely learned a lot in this course.
I really enjoyed taking Dr. Kefeli's class. I don't think she is given enough credit as far as the ratings on here go. She is always clear about what she expects and not once did I have to email her asking her to elaborate on homework assignments or what's expected. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students as well and she's pretty funny.
GOOD LUCK
She has a strong French accent and it was a little hard to understand her at the beginning of the semester, but it became very easy after awhile. I recommend sitting in the front of the class so you won't be tempted to mess around on your phone, because her lectures can get boring but they are extremely informative. She also offers a ton of XC
She is a great teacher! On average I would have to study an hour for her tests and I would get a+ on them. If you pay attention in class tests will be easy! Downside is that she would post so many online quizzes and make so many annoying BB announcements . But she is a funny enthusiastic person.
Kefeli can be alittl hard to understand @ times but is a great, kind, & helpful professor. Her exams are all multiple choice and usually have somewhere between 10-30 points EC on each 100 point exam. After the 1st couple weeks until the end of the semester she will have in class clicker?s that r all EC worth about 5-10 points. Easy & interesting HU
Dr. Kefeli is an amazing professor. She is very clear on her expectations and great at her lectures. If you go to class and read the assignments you'll certainly pass no questions asked. She offers all of her lectures in written form, AMAZING!
Her tests for Religions of the World are ridiculous. She tells you things in class that you must know for the exam and then she tells you to study the study guides online. Most of that information is irrelevant for the exam. Study guides are practically no help. If you want to do well you have to study from the work book and memorize her lectures.
A very helpful professor and tries really hard to make sure everyone passes. Lectures are long and put you to sleep but it's helpful for tests. There are so many extra credit opportunities and so while some assignments were hard you can make up the points with extra credit.
Prof Kefeli is one of my favorite professors. She gives loads of extra credit through clicker exercises in class so be sure to get a clicker and ALWAYS go to class or else you won't pass. Her lectures are boring so some but I think she's interesting. Do the required work and you'll pass without a doubt. She really cares about her students passing!
Took this as an online course and it is the worst online course I have ever taken. There is on average 11 quizzes a week with a cumulative exam at the end of the week of 100 questions and only 90 minutes worth 200 points. Lots of reading, videos 6 a week roughly 45 minutes each(you have to watch for quizzes). She takes all the interest and fun out
Easy class. Lots of opportunities for extra credit with easy hw and clicker points. Tests are easy and have 25 extra credit questions on it. Study guides cover all the material on tests. Definitely recommend
She is amazing professor. One things you must know if you plan to take her class. It is an easy A class once you work for it. Yes she gives lots of quizzes, but most of them are really easy. Plus she gives lots of extra credit by clicker exercises.
She walks you through everything and gives tons of extra credit. She is also a very easy grader.
Really easy A as long as you go to class and do your work.
Dr. Kefeli's class was one of the best I have ever taken because 1) it was easy 2) I genuinely learned a lot of information. She gives a few in-class quizzes, but tons of extra credit (200 pts. at least). All the work might seem intimidating but as long as you do the assignments she asks for, you will pass with ease. Also, she is super sweet.
Great & interesting class, and Dr. Kefeli makes it really easy to see what's going on with lectures and videos. She also gives literally hundreds of points of extra credit. You would have to fail every test to fail the class if you take advantage of the EC. And if you read over the workbook you really don't need to show up.
The course load may seem a lot at first but it really isn't. She gives you so many opportunities in her class to get extra credit that there's no way you can fail. She provides tons of info on the content on blackboard and you can totally get by without attending her lectures. She genuinely cares about the students and is very knowledgeable.
Dr. Kefeli made this class so interesting. Though I am not a Religious Studies major, she truly made this class the most interesting I have ever taken. Absolutely love her. If possible, definitely attend the review study sessions done by her former students. If you don't get an A in this class, you are beyond dumb. She offers so much extra credit.
Dr. Kefeli really works hard to make sure you learn your material - she even created her own workbook for Religion 100 - everything is very in depth - you will have to learn something if you take the class. My only con would be that for an online class, I probably spent up to 40 hours on her class alone, while taking two other classes
she is funny and great professor. You can easily get an A in the class due the extra credit clickers. You need her book for the crossword BUT YOU DO NOT NEED the other book because even if you have an online quiz YOU CAN FIND the answers in QUIZ LET.
I hated her the first few weeks of class just because of the amount of homework and quizzes. But honestly they're so easy and take 5 minutes. I ended up loving her and the class due to the amount of interesting information you learn! She's a bit hard to understand but no worries you get used to her accent. She only asks for respect in her class!
She is extremely passionate about all her lectures. There is a lot of reading of two different books with multiple discussion boards. The exams are long but 20 of the questions are normally extra credit. The reason I got an A+ was because of all the extra credit opportunities. Make sure you always read, come to class and bring your clickers.
Go to class and study group and you'll pass. She gives about 5 extra credits every class, really boost up the grade. The questions on the tests weren't tricky either.
I loved Kefeli. She makes the lectures interesting with her workbook, and humor. She also gives TONS of extra credit. There is usually 100 questions on the test but always 10-20 EC questions in addition to the 100. And everyday she gives 5-10 extra credit questions through clicker that you can discuss with others about. Overall, awesome prof.
The lectures are very long and tend to drag on, but as long as you show up, their is plenty of extra credit points she gives so its nearly impossible to fail or even get a C. She also has a pretty heavy accent so its sometimes hard to understand her.
Loved this class, very difficult because of her accent but also keeps you paying attention. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Great study sessions. Hard tests but studying daily helped a lot. Wouldn't recommend being absent what so ever, lectures everyday and extra credit clickers everyday.
I took this class my first semester freshman year and I would 100% recommend it for those looking for that humanities credit. Be ready to read and study, but there are so many extra credit opportunities, don't be too worried about missing a reading quiz.
Kefeli is awesome - so many resources available, even though you might not even need them. She puts the FULL lectures typed out online, and her powerpoint slides are all typed out in her workbook. There is extra credit offered literally every class during clicker exercises. Her accent is hard to understand, but the class is an easy A+!
Because of the ridiculous amount of extra credit, she is literally impossible to fail. If you're looking for an EASY A, would definitely recommend. was able to pass this class with a B never studying whatsoever, and bombing her tests. An A can be achieved with minimal effort. Just make sure you do ALL of the homework and quizzes and writing blogs.
She's a pretty funny professor and her class is honesty not hard at all with how much extra credit she gives through clicker questions I literally have a 102% in class right now. She is hard to understand some times, but its really not that bad. Easy A
Easy class and amazing teacher. Trust me, she's really nice.
Class is pretty easy with lots of extra credit. Hated her tho. Lectures were boring and worth going only because of clicker exercise and in class quizzes. Can barely understand her because of her accent.
She is nice, she has a heavy french accent so listening to her is hard. You have to go to class to pass because she uses clicker points as extra credit. Her class feels like it takes forever, torture. Many reading assignments and 3 exams over 8ish religions. If you are a freshman I would wait and see if u actually go to class or if you like skippin
Super teacher, very interesting class. She provides the lectures on line, and she's easy to understand. Very approachable and caring. Be sure to get the workbook and come to class for the in-class quizzes and the clicker points. I never knew that there were so many different religions.
Such a great Professor and knows her stuff ! She loves what she does and you can tell . Very caring and nice . 4 or 5 Test are 100 question including final. I failed almost all of them and passed with a B. So much extra credit GO TO CLASS ! she loves clicker points .
LOVE. I wish I were a religious studies major so that I could take more classes with her. She genuinely wants students to succeed, she makes lectures interesting and funny, and it's a relatively easy A if you show up and pay attention. Lots of daily extra credit with "clicker" device.
Dr. Kefeli is very clear and easy to understand. She provides the texts of her lectures on line, too. I was amazed by all the different religions I never even knew existed. Jainism will blow your mind!!!
Very fair, extra credit 90% of the time no surprises TAs hold review sessions before tests that basically have the answers
Her lectures take forever, but if you show up to class you can pass with a B just by doing her extra credit on the clickers. The tests aren't difficult, just make sure to go through your notes. Also, the books are definitely mandatory.
Dr. Clay's history class was fun and interesting. She was really passionate about what she was teaching. She has a workbook that she wrote herself that is used in class, There are also essay questions due periodically on questions from the textbook. You really have to work in this class to get the grade you want!
Sit in the back of class, pop in earphones, be on ur phone, and answer the clicker ?s. U dont hav to listen to her lectures in class. Study for tests by reading lectures on bb. Be wary of final. worth double exam points. can still fail it and get an A cuz so much Xtra credit. But do all the other assignments. Treat every point like a test question
I also took REL100 with Dr. Kefeli and they are very similarly structured. It is impossible to fail this class if you show up as she gives a lot of extra credit, mainly in the form of clicker questions (100+ points overall), which can be answered by looking though the notes. I recommend this class to buffer your GPA.
Kefeli is knowledgeable and a gives a thorough proper lecture while incorporating discussion. Her grading is fair, and gives a reasonable amount of reading and homework. I took two of her classes. Her instructions are clear. Her grading for essays are very strict but it does not hurt your grade much. Expect a good grade if you do all your work.
She is incredible, funny, and an overall great teacher. She has TAs who go through test-like questions before every exam and theyre almost the same to the real thing. Go to class, extra points on clickers, 10-20 extra credit questions on 110-120 question tests. Easy A pretty much with 1-2 days of studying before test and going to class.
For a REL100 class she sure expects you to know everything about world religions. I went to almost every single class, paid attention, did the homework, and studied for the test, and was barely scraping a C. She made it unnecessarily difficult for a 100 level class, plus you spend over 200 dollars on books. 100% not worth it.
Took the online portion of her course. It was easy. Never watched the lectures. Exams were easy. She gives so much extra credit. I made it out with a A. I didn't even do all the extra credit but you have to almost try to fail this course. I can't see anyone making less than a B+ with all the extra credit provided. Book helps too. Also she is nice.
She made religions really easy to learn about you just have to go to class and listen to her when she gives her lectures even though they're sort of boring. Also her extra credit clicker points are a life saver.
Easiest A. Course was inundated with extra credit. Almost all graded assignments are MC. $150+ for textbooks is a small price for the GPA boost. If you can read lecture notes that are WRITTEN FOR YOU, show up to class for the extra credit and in class assignments, keep up on online homework and have decent fact retention, a perfect HU/SB option.
The lectures were interesting and very helpful for the tests, and study guides basically told you everything that would be on the exams. There are TONS of opportunities for extra credit, which makes this class an easy A. Just show up and do the clicker exercises and easy in-class quizes and you'll get an A. Dr. Kefeli does have a thick accent.
Her lectures were pretty boring but I recommend going to class since she gives a lot of clicker extra credit points. She also gives about 15-20 extra credit questions on exams. GO TO THE REVIEW SESSION before an exam!! They are super helpful and the main reason why I did well in this class. Barely used the Molloy textbook, but it is needed.
She is very disorganized. Although this class is a fairly easy-A, there are so many quizzes and assignments and to be frankly some are just straight dumb. Asking college students to do crossword puzzles? Come on, you are better than this. Most exam questions are based on cultural stereotypes. So, yes, this is an easy class, but not educational.
SUPER BORING CLASS. but prof kefeli is funny from time to time. Clicker points are extra credit so go to class (you'll need it). Lots of homework but all on quizlet. Test are a hard if you pay zero attention (actually doing the homework helps lol)
I seriously don't know how anyone could fail this class. The amount of extra credit she offers is ridiculous. Overall super easy class, 4 big exams (with like 20 extra credit points), weekly quizzes/reading- but answers are in book or quizlet. She is very sweet and shows a lot of movies/videos in class that are very helpful. Would recommend.
In this class, you'll have to work hard in order to achieve an "A." Her class is based on discussion boards, quizzes and most of all her multiple-choice based questions. Before you go to class, you'll also want to read her class lectures, or else you'll have no idea what is going on.
Easy A, gives TONS of extra credit. The online homework is very easy but you need to buy all the textbooks ($200+ for all 4). She gives 25 extra credit points on each exam which is 100 multiple choice questions. Show up to the all lectures and you will pass with an A
The lectures are very boring but the class is an easy A if you show up. Lots of extra credit and the material is interesting. Lots of homework but its all easy and almost like busy work. One of the few classes where its possible to get over a 100% and a A+
She is really sweet and passionate about her profession. TONS of homework, 2 types of online quizzes (like we had 7 due all on the same day). Online discussion boards. You have to buy a NEW textbook for her class because it has cross word puzzles and other things in it. Spent to much money on textbooks for an elective class. She offers extra credit
Her lectures are very long and can get boring but she tries to make them as lively as possible. She gives a lot of homework but for the most part, it is simple. She does extra credit. Very fun and knows a lot about what she teaches.
She has an accent that you'll get used to after a couple weeks. SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT! If you go to the lectures, she emphasizes certain points to hint they will be on the exam. The exams are long and the questions are specific, but there's so much extra credit in the class that everything will balance out. If you have an work ethic, you'll get an A
She gives very long lectures, but they can be pretty interesting at times. There is a lot of extra credit given through clicker questions. Attendance is mandatory, and she enforces it by collecting in class hw at random times. While the class itself is very boring, Dr. Kefeli is a great instructor and I would definitely take her class again.
Dr. Kefeli gives very long, very dry lectures. But at the same time, you can tell she loves what she teaches and is very clear and specific about what she teaches you. As long as you show up to class and take the online quizzes, it's almost impossible not to pass. Get the clicker because she gives out a ridiculous amount of extra credit.
She is a really good teacher and she is passionate about what she teaches. She has a student that takes her own time to tutor at night. However, for a pre req, the amount of money you spend on textbooks is ridiculous. One textbook is just her powerpoints on paper with crossword puzzles.. (required book and expensive!)
She gives great lectures with insightful historical perspective. This class was the most interesting introductory course that I've ever taken.
Easy A class, weekly assignments, tests easy enough if you know whats on the study guide, lots of chances to redeem yourself with extra credit clicker questions
Dr. Kefeli's class was an interesting introductory course to world history, her assignment were never difficult. The tests were very easy to get perfect scores on if you stayed awake and came to class every day. She did a lot of review of the important things, offered extra credit and was very engaging. I really want to take a 300-400 lvl. with her
This course, in a typical week, has multiple quizzes and an exam. There are many lectures and you MUST watch them and take notes in order to make good grades. Overall, the content is not difficult, but you will need to set aside numerous hours for quizzes and exams.
All you need to do to pass this course with an A is watch the videos and take semi-extensive notes. Theres more than enough extra credit opportunities to make up for missed questions. Anyone complaining is simply too lazy to bother with school in the first place. This is NOT a difficult course. It simply requires a lot of time investment.
You should go to class because almost every class you have the chance for extra credit points. You receive a decent amount of homework but make a couple of friends in the class and do them together.
IF YOU LIKE BUSY WORK THIS IS THE PROFESSOR FOR YOU! SHE IS PASSIONATE AND SWEET HOWEVER LACKS AUTHENTICITY IN LECTURES AND DOES NOT MAKE SUBJECT INTERESTING. IF YOU ARE EFFORT ORIENTED THIS IS THE CLASS FOR YOU. THICK ACCENT MAKES IT HARD TO UNDERSTAND.
I ended her class with 107 extra points because if you go to class she offers LOTS of extra credit opportunities. Her lectures are boring but nothing unmanageable. She gives you lots of time to complete online homework, which can be tedious but is very doable (multiple attempts on most of it). Shes a nice lady and her accent is easy to get used to
You have to buy the book for the class, which sucks, but she doesn't deserve the low rating. She's got a thick accent, but her class is ridiculously easy if you show up to class. I earned over 100 points of extra credit from the clicker exercises, and if you go to the review sessions or just read the lectures she posts, there's no reason to fail
She's interesting and passionate about the subject, but I don't think she respects her students very much since we had to spend around $250 for her class alone. It's very easy to get an A if you do all the homework and go to class. You honestly don't even need to pay attention in class if you listen to the people around you or check the book.
She has a pretty thick accent but you will get used to it. Lots of extra credit opportunities, the clicker points in class are EC, last couple of questions on the test are extra credit. There is a study guide for the test which are semi helpful. The review sessions are helpful. 4 Test, which are pretty difficult but doable. Lots of online quizzes.
Kefeli is a good professor, albeit it might seem like a lot of hard work for a level 100 class. Stay on top of your assignments, attend classes regularly, and invest into a clicker. I passed her class with over 100% because of how much extra credit she gave out. It may seem daunting or intimidating at first, but you adjust in time. Don't slack off!
I'll be honest: I had her for her REL 100 class, and only took this class because I thought she would be an easy grader and offer extra credit like her other class. But she makes you work for that grade! An interesting class, with interesting discussions. If you put the effort in, getting an A is not an issue. Amazing class!
If you dont show up, youll miss a lot. Textbooks is good for remembering but dont rely on it
Great instructor. She does have a strong accent in the lecture videos, but you are still able to understand her. A lot of quizzes but they are simple. Many extra credit opportunities!
This course is interesting and fun but be prepared to read a lot. One other note, I took the course online and she did NOT have a "thick accent" as someone else wrote. Yes, she has a French accent but she is very understandable.
Dr. Kefeli is a phenomenal professor with a passion for religion. She has an accent but can be 100% understood. If you attend every class you will accrue an absurd amount of EC. Tests are long but reasonable, containing lots of vocab. Be prepared to memorize a good amount of terms. No cumulative final, good amount of reading. A/A+ is easy w/ effort
Great professor, very kind. Course is done hand-in-hand with the textbook, so it is absolutely necessary to get it. Homework due dates aren't spread out but bunched up on certain days, which can make it tempting to procrastinate. Get a head start on the DB's, as they're usually essay-length. Pay attention in class, no matter how boring it may be.
Outstanding professor. She gives a metric ton of extra credit so there should be no worries with your grade. She is one of the sweetest professors i've known and is always open to helping students succeed. She truly cares about her work and it shows in her lectures. There's a load of books so don't wait for reading. Please be quiet in class :)
Her class on HST 100 was great she made learning about different cultures very interesting and easy and she had a help that did reviews of each section before every test which was really helpful put in the effort and you will easily get an A in the class
I took this class online. It is well organized, her lectures are interesting, and the exams/quizzes were all multiple choice and not very difficult as long as you do all the readings as well as using her supplementary workbook. Takes up a decent amount of time, but is an easy A if you do the work and study. I definitely recommend her!
Her class was so fun and easy I miss her class already we had weekly homework assignments that were fair then we had to write a book report which was fair and she gave us a review session for her class which is just awesome take her you will not regret it.
You can find quiz and homework answers online and the exams are 100 questions in 75 minutes (ABSURD) but you can use your notes on them. Maybe not the best professor but I still like her to some extent. Attendance is through clickers throughout the entire lecture but as long as you show up and do the work you will be fine.
I really enjoyed taking this class! Dr. Kefeli is a great professor and the material is well presented. There is a good amount of work, but she offers a lot of extra credit.
She's a super sweet lady, that's that. If you want to enjoy a class for a teacher's personality, buckle up in the beginning because it will seem like a LOT, but honestly it becomes way better, so just stay and wait it out, for your own sake, I promise things get better. I genuinely have nothing bad to say about her, she's smart and entertaining.
This professor is very nice, however i feel as though i wasted money buying her special workbook that i used maybe twice. also i had to speed up her lectures to 1.25x speed because there was a lot of pausing and "uh". you have about 8+ hours worth of lecture videos a week and some quiz questions are poorly worded. * DO ALL EXTRA CREDIT! *
yes her upper level classes arent easy, but she recognises when a student is really trying. her assignments are long and seem difficult but she rewards you for effort. she can come across as cold, but shes sweet and helpful once you get to know her. ive had her for 3 classes and i enjoyed every single one. my favourite prof at asu by far.
Took this class online due to covid, she is the best prof you will ever have. It's an easy A because she offers so much extra credit and will also adjust the weight of the grades to your benefit. If you ever had a chance, take her. YOU WiLL NOT REGRET IT!!
Lots of work for a 3 credit class, more so a 7 week online course! May get overwhelming at times. However, she is very accessible. Not bad if you need an elective.
The class was super easy. The only thing I hated was she based everything off of the textbook that she wrote and you can only buy from the campus bookstore. I live overseas and the book showed up two weeks before the class was over. I still somehow got an A-, but I know I wouldve gotten an A+ if I couldve bought the book from Amazon
Such a good Professor, very passionate about what she taught. Very lecture-heavy, take notes on the lecture videos/notes, in-class lectures, and all quizzes it will help a lot trust me. Exams are open note/book but it will take a long time to look things up so reviewing is important. The class was so interesting and easy to learn from. Love her.
You can tell how passionate she is about what she teaches. She very accessible and always communicates with her classes. Lots of lectures and notes, but she keeps it pretty interesting (if you like history). I also really appreciated all the opportunities for extra credit.
My history 100 class felt more like a religion 100 class. If I wanted to learn about religion with history sprinkled in I'd take a religion class. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about her work. Religion and history are incredibly interconnected, but I took this class to learn history, not the intricacies of religions.
The book used isnt even a real textbook its more of a series of articles, crosswords for vocabulary words, coloring, matching games and lecture notes. You wont use 80% of it and its something she wrote herself. The class seems to be more about religion than history which makes it a little frustrating when I was expecting to focus on history.
Basically, a religion class like the other reviews talk about, but this class has more assignments than my 300+ level classes. If you take this class get ready to do a ton of work and DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!
Open-book tests, crosswords, and 130 question exams. Despite there being a lot to do, and being heavily religious (she's mainly a theology teacher, so I don't blame her), I learned a lot!
Be prepared for a LOT of work! However, the assignments and quizzes/exams are easy. Do all the extra credit and it will help your grade tremendously. Prof is very accessible and messages class on a daily basis. She is very encouraging and I would totally take another class from her again
There are so many lecture videos and lecture notes, but what Ive learned is you dont have to read and go through them all to pass. There is opportunities to get 10 percentage points of a higher grade with extra credit so dont worry about your grade. Be ready for lots of tests and quizzes though
Do yourself a favor and take this class! Although the class was lecture heavy, I learned much that I did not know and found the class enjoyable and easy to follow. The professor is kind and makes herself available to her students. She gives opportunity for extra credit so you don't have to over stress about messing something up.
Taken during my first semester as a returning college student after nearly eight years. Dr. Kefeli was an excellent professor and extremely knowledgeable and helpful in all areas. Her lectures are very clear and concise and she offers a ton of extra credit. Lots of reading and quizzes but I feel like I left the course having learned so much.
She is super thorough with her lectures and is very good at communicating due dates and answers to common questions.
Just an incredible amount of work for a 100 level class. 30 page lectures and multiple 30+ minute videos that need to done almost daily to stay on track. Not to mention that the textbook was written by the professor...
I believe Dr. Kefeli is a good professor but this class makes it hard to see that. I feel bad giving a harsh review because she's very helpful and quick to reply, but this class had the most amount of work I've had for any course. I'm an honors student and I've never had an upper division course have anything like this. Unreal amount of work.
Dr. Kefeli is an excellent professor and makes herself available to assist all students. The layout of her textbook is extremely helpful and the exams follow the lecture notes precisely. This course does require a lot of work but the material is interesting and for someone willing to put in the effort, an easy A. Lots of extra credit offered.
Take HST 100 online for an easy time. Assignments include simple open book quizzes on videos and written lectures, along with a bunch of extra credit assignment. Tests can seem a little overwhelming but they are also open book. Prof wrote the textbook and is required for some of the assignments.
She gives out soooo much work. You will have to do 10-13 assignments in less than a week. In one exam it ended up being 130 questions which is a lot in my opinion. She gives out the first exam after the first two weeks you have been taking the class so be prepared. The assignments could consist of 45 minutes to an hour long videos and book works.
Professor Kefeli provides SO much opportunity for extra credit! Though there is a lot of content to ingest, she provides fun ways to complete assignments (specifically completing crosswords)! Not a ton of reading, but a ton of video content to watch. Lots of quizzes and tests, but EVERYthing is open-book. Easily reached via email/Canvas message.
took her online class due to covid. So many lectures and a lot of quizzes but those were easy to find on Quizlet. Exams are 100 questions in 75 min but is open note. I took notes on docs and ctrl-F my way thru the exams! very easy! highly recommend. This class made me take religious studies as a minor.
In the accelerated A session expect a dozen quizzes weekly But the answers for all the quizzes are word for word in the lecture notes she gives you and no time limit so low key you can read for the answers. And there is one unit test weekly just watch all her videos on 2x speed and you'll be fine Also she makes you buy $150 of textbooks its a scam.
This teacher is pretty nice I'm not going to lie I feel bad giving her a harsh review, but the amount of workload is beyond tcrazy. It's really just too much personally for me and I don't feel like doing all that, especially the fact that I'm in upper division classes. Expect to buy a workbook it's required to do the assigments.
90 dollars for a workbook that the professor wrote?! She claims she can only give free access to the first 5 chapters and then its $90-100 for the rest. 10+ quizzes a week with anywhere from 5-40 questions. Long videos to watch plus lectures, dr. Kefeli is obviously passionate about her work, but i do not reccomend this class
Straightforward quizzes, interesting course material
Professor Kefeli is a great professor. I took her online HST 100 Class. It was pretty straight foward. you would watch videos and read a lecture take many tests after every activity. (so around 4-5 tests a week and 4 Major exams) Lots and lots of extra credit, really helps your grade if you do it. I would so take this class again.
Great teacher, it was an easy online course with lots of extra credit opportunities every week. Quizzes and crosswords every week. Around 10 assignments due usually on saturday or friday. Very easy class for credit.
take another REL class if you can
Dude, idk where all these comments coming from. 1st) You have to buy her book, 2nd)theres no way someone can get A in this class theres soo much quizzes that will bring your grade down like maybe 40 total & nothing on quizlet and then writing stuff, 3 heavy exams 130 questions each. I have no idea whos writing these comments. I M struggling lol.
If there's one review you're going to want to read. It's this one. Test/Quizzes: -18 modules and - 1 module = 5-7 quizzes with 5-25 questions. - 3 exams 130 questions Reading/videos: It's impossible to remember the information. Not a single person would pass if this has a lockdown browser. It's not going to be hard to pass, just a lot of work.
The course has lots of extra credit and open-book quizzes, but the workload can be heavy. Using unstuckstudy ai alongside the textbook helped me stay on top of the assignments.
For being an introductory level course this class was too much work, take someone else if you can. You are graded on 18 modules (chapters) with quizzes in each containing around 15-40 questions and a writing assignment worth 10% of your grade. There are 4 exams in total (1 is extra credit). She does offer 10% in extra credit on your final grade.
Great professor that gives you everything you need to pass with a high grade. The effort you put in will determine your final grade. This class is only "difficult" because there is a lot of reading, lectures, and quizzes in each module but if you take your homework seriously your exams will be a breeze. Overall the class was very interesting!
As an online professor, she is really good at giving consistent updates on how the students should tackle course load. The course I took was particularly easy, even with me skipping a chunk of assignments, with lots of extra credit opportunities if I wanted to do that. Very communicative & really lenient on how she grades. No complaints.
Dr. Kefeli requires everyone buys a workbook for her class, which she made. It not only includes bullet points of each topic, but it also has chances for easy extra credit which also helps with memorizing the content. She also includes entertaining documentaries. Best part of her class is every test is open book!
Ez A, GPA booster, Take the session A or B class to get done with it sooner.
Be prepared to spend a lot of time on this course. She does give a lot of time to get assignments done, but it is homework heavy. You HAVE to watch the videos and answer quizzes for each video watched. There is 1 paper, 4 exams, and extra credit. Wouldn't take again simply because the course load is a bit much. The professor is fine though.
she makes you buy an expensive ahh workbook full of stuff that she could've given for free take it only if you have to
The course is time-consuming, but definitely rich in quality. Dr. Kefeli uses every possible method to teach with a wide variety of materials like a physical workbook, video lectures, journal/news articles, and so many opportunities for extra credit. She's also super involved with daily announcements and is always around to helping when needed.
Great professor overall! Very encouraging and helpful. Lots of homework, but the tests are open note, so it makes it worth it.
