Great professor. Explains things well and relates the subject material to students interest. Take this professor for Psyc100 or Psyc209 if you can.

Professor Ly is laid back and a cool teacher. She offers extra credit and tries to help you out if you are struggling. Her class is pretty easy and I would highly recommend her!

New but a really good teacher. She made all the lessons interesting and always put the slides up online and her classes are also on course capture. She's funny too. Gives extra credit opportunities. Tests are somewhat difficult with all the information.

The class is structured that a lot of points balance out the four exams. I received an A in the class and would take another class of hers if it was pertinent to my major. She is a nice lady. But this semester she was not easy. The first exam brought down everyone's grade. Answer choices on the exam sound all the same. You have to go to lecture to earn clicker pts.

I took this class thinking it was gonna be an easy A, it turned out to be more difficult that my other classes. Exams were tricky and required reading from the textbook. Do not take unless you HAVE to.

She works with children as part of her job, and this definitely spills over into her teaching style. She is also extremely nitpicky and will deduct points from test questions for vague phrasing, regardless of if the answer is correct. Not an easy class, but not extremely hard if you attend class regularly and pay attention.

She is a nice woman and definitely wants her students to do well. She is extremely helpful and spends significant time allowing students to get help if they need to. Her tests are pretty difficult, but you get to use an index card of notes. Attendance is not mandatory but there are random in class assignments and labs so you should definitely go.

This class really wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. Just go to class, take notes, and study. It's as simple as that. This was by far my easiest class. She gives extra credit and she even takes i-clicker questions from the notes and puts them on the test.

Professor Ly is really sweet and she really tries to be a good professor. I liked her class because she doesn't just read off slides and she gives really good examples i could relate to which made concepts easier to understand. Prof Ly is a very cheerful great professor. Clicker questions are easy, and you don't even have to get them right for credit. Don't listen to any negative reviews...you'd have to be an idiot to not understand her test questions. Do your reading and go to class and its an easy A. She makes you think, so just memorizing stuff won't cut it though.

She is very personable and easy to talk to. She encourages you to talk and really wants you to understand the material. She uses real life examples and is very relatable. I did get bored in her class a lot because she likes to stay on a subject for awhile but she's a good professor!

I really did enjoy the class and the things that I learned, but I felt like Ly could have made this class a lot easier. For a 100 level class there's a lot of reading and effort involved. There are honestly easier breadth classes you can take. I always found her assignments questions to be confusing, and it's probably what brought my grade down.

Read the textbook and do the assignments. She has a strict grading scale so do the extra credit she gives out.

I really like Dr Ly. She's a good balance of reasonable yet challenging. She's always enthusiastic in lecture, and is very helpful with answering questions. However, she really expects you to know the material, so you have to do your readings and GO TO CLASS. If you really pay attention in class, you can do well in her class, for the most part.

Dr. Ly is very helpful and will explain things for as long as it takes. There are a lot of online quizzes and prompts so read the syllabus to remember when they are. The tests aren't that bad and she gives you a chance to make up missed points.

Ly is an awesome teacher, and the class is really interesting. She does make it hard for an intro course though. Quizzes weekly that take a long time to get used to. Attendance is taken every class, but you only need to go to half to get full credit. Only way to do well on the tests is to read the book ON TOP of the notes. Definitely not easy

I really liked her lectures; she is very passionate about what she teaches and wants us to succeed in her class. Her exams test your knowledge on the material and requires you to be on your A-game at the very beginning of the semester (material that you learn on the first day of class will appear over and over again).

I started off not liking this class or Dr. Ly. But over time you will begin to get the hang of it. She is a good teacher and speaks without complicating vocabulary so you can understand the topics. I would take one of her classes again. PSYCH100 only has 4 tests but there are a lot of other requirements and quizes.

She's such a sweetheart and is there for you. She provides online printout notes that correspond with the lecture and are very helpful. It was never boring in my opinion.

I made the mistake of thinking I understood the material, and bombed the first exam. After that, I always went to office hours and ended up doing pretty well in the class. She cares if you seek help, but she won't run after you when she has over 1000 General Psych students in a huge lecture hall. Seek help, and your grade will show a difference.

Dr. Ly really cares about you and wants you to do well in this class. If you've had any statistical course in the past, then this course is an easy A and probably a waste of time, but it's a requirement for psycneuro. Just learn how to write what she wants and you won't have an problems.

Professor Ly's class is interesting, however she takes it too serious for a breadth requirement. READ the textbook, do the assignments yourself, and pay attention to clicker questions. Study a few days before tests and you're guaranteed a B.

Literally all you have to do is give a damn: pay attention to her lectures, skim the textbook and look over they study guide and you'll get an A on every test.

Dr. Ly was by far my favorite Professor! Yes, there is some tricky online homework based on readings, but her tests are mostly straight forward. I didn't read much and found some of the material a little difficult, but she goes over a lot during lectures so attendance is important! I went to her during office hours and she was really helpful!

Go to every class and take good notes! A lot of test questions are from homework and iclickers. Do not take if you are looking for an easy breadth but do it if you are interested! Put in the work and an A is possible

Dr. Ly is a great teacher, I never expected to learn this much in a stats class! Incredibly tough grader though, exams should be easy but if you don't use her exact phrasing you'll get points off, even if you're right. Also, not an understanding professor at all, if you're out sick and can't turn in an assignment you'll get a 0 no matter what.

She is the hardest grader that I have ever had. She wants you to be extremely specific in EVERY answer that you give and if you do not give the exact response that SHE wants, you will get points off. Do not take this class with her. She makes the material much harder than it should be.

Dr. Ly is one of my favorite professors at UD. Her class isn't super easy, but if you do the homework, study and pay attention, you can get an A. Dr. Ly is always available to help her students and is always clear about what will be on exams. The lectures are super interesting, even if you aren't that interested in psych.

I loved having Prof Ly! I would definitely recommend taking her honors section because she is really fun in that class. Her tests can be tough to get the hang of but if you're really clear you should be ok. There are 2 homework assignments/week which aren't too challenging. A lot of the people on here seem to say Dr. Ly as boring or condescending. However, Dr. Ly is an absolutely phenomenal professor! She's really funny and nice and while the class wasn't the easiest and there is a good amount of assignments, it's nothing you can't handle and, by the end of the semester, I guarantee you you will know more about psych

Dr. Ly is a really nice person! Her class is far from an easy A and it will require a lot of work. She looks for VERY specific wording on exams, which can be frustrating as it hurts your grade if you are not specific enough. The class goes by quickly and it is enjoyable. It would be a 10/10 if it was easier honestly.

I ended up picking up Psychology as a second major after taking this class with Dr. Ly! She makes class very interesting by showing a lot of videos and examples. You do have to read, but if you attend class she explains things very clearly and gives practice questions which make the tests much easier. She is also friendly and approachable

Professor LY is a great professor. She is super knowledgeable and gives great examples to make the content clearer. However, for just a 100 level class it is a lot of work. There are multiple assignments during the week which are not easy. It takes up a lot of time, but as long as you listen to lectures and follow her study guides you will be fine.

Don't depend on the study guide she provides to you!!! Her exam includes more stuffs that you expect.

Dr. Ly is a great professor. There is homework due every Monday and Friday but it's very manageable. Her lectures are awesome and if you pay attention in class you'll do very well on the exams. Of all my teachers I had this semester, Dr. Ly was the best. If you read the assigned readings before class, take notes, and do the homework, you will be fine. Her lectures match up with her study guides, so I was able to study from my notes for the exams. She is ready to help you if you need it and responds very quickly to emails.

The APA's and discussion posts are difficult so spend time and work hard on them. Exams are also kind of tricky, but she does allow a notecard to take exams.

Although it was not easy for an intro level course, she really is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her material. If you go to lecture, you will do well on exams, APAS are great to review for exam, plus you get a notecard for each exam. UD capture can become a life saver.

In class, Dr. Ly presents many examples that are the same on exams. Exact clicker and APA questions also are on the exams. I don't understand why people complain so much about her. If you go to class and read, you will do well. 4 extra credit options were also available and discussions were a grade booster. I've learned so much from this class.

You will have to put effort into this class- reading the chapters, discussions, APAs, and do the study guides for the exams (it's really helpful). If you do all that, getting an A isn't hard. If you take this class, be prepared to read. A LOT. She gives discussion posts and an online assignment every week, but drops some of the lowest scores. The tests are very easy and include some old material, but that shouldn't be a problem though since she reviews old material in class. This class was a breeze for me.

by far one of my favorite professors. she did such a good job at explaining her slides and made the material really easy to understand. the tests are really fair if you take good notes and do the apa's. shes a fair grader and provides a few extra credit opportunities. overall, she was a pretty ideal professor. would definitely recommend.

I really liked Ly. Before I came to UD I was told she would be tough. I don't think she's any more difficult than any other 3 credit course professor. I recommend really scoring well in the APA's as thats the only reason I have a B- and not an A. I didn't have to read a lot because her lectures cover everything. Literally write EVERYTHING SAID!!!!

Agnes is so sweet. She is so easy to talk to and genuinely wants to see her students succeed. Tests are definitely hard but she does anything she can to help you improve. If you pay attention in class, it will help. She gives great examples. Try on the homework and APA's because they really make or break the great. Great professor.

During her lectures write down literally every single thing she says. Especially her examples and charts. Then you can use the textbook afterwards for extra info. Its definitely passable but you will have to work. Also, be careful with the APA's and do ALL extra credit. It helps. Lastly, knock out the research participation as early as possible.

I am so happy I got put in her class for psych. A lot of people said she would be very hard and scary and I found she was super excited, energetic, and wanted to teach us with good spirit. Listen in class and write down what she SAYS and I promise the tests are easy. APA's are a little tricky now and then but most of the answers are online.

best professor to take for psych100 since she is the head of the psych advising department, class is a tad bit difficult for a 100 level but its worth it, go to class because she uses clicker questions for attendance but if you miss watch her ud capture, STUDY FOR EXAMS ATLEAST A WEEK EARLY

I took her class as a freshman and thought that she really gives a fair amount of works to an intro-class. Fast forward to my second semester first at UD. What she required us to go through is some of the most helpful preps for your future classes, like how to participate in a Canvas discussion, and how to take notes, etc.

Professor Ly is awesome for Psyc209. She takes her time to make sure that you really understand the concepts. Great for those who have a basic understanding of statistics. But, there is A LOT of work for this class. Homework is done in groups and if you don't come a day homework is due you get a zero. Aggie wants you to do well but you have to try.

I liked Ly a lot, actually. She was funny, engaging and knowledgeable. You got to read that textbook every week though to stay on track. APAs and Discussions were tough, but nothing you can't handle. Everything she taught was on the exam, and she explained stuff well. Just follow her lips more than her slides. She didn't write much on them at times

Course work is a extra and time consuming and exams are not easy. If you read the readings, do good on assignments youll be fine. She really cares about my individual grade even thought my class was like 300 people. Way too much work and expectations for a 100 level course. 3 assignments due weekly along with readings and pop clicker quizzes. exams are hard. Probably easier if your a psych major. I have friends with different professors for psych100 and they have less work with easier material and a higher grade. You can bring a 4x6 note card to her exams tho.

Dr. Ly is INCREDIBLE. The workload isn't bad. It's the same two assignments every week; an APA quiz and discussion. She's engaging, funny, and she breaks things down well during lectures. Sit in the front and participate and she'll learn your name. Exams aren't that bad if you study. Everything she tests you on is covered in class. She's the best!

The material she teaches in class is very consistent with questions on exams, and she posts on UD capture incase you miss a class.

Dr. Ly was my favorite professor this year. While, she does have two homework assignments a week the APAs you can google and get all the answers and the discussions as long as you try you get full credit. Her lectures are well thought out and she really tries to make class interesting. She drops 10 clicker days and does UD capture too. Got a 95%.

She is a nice professor. You will get an A if you pay attention to lectures and those iclicker questions. And study sessions really help a lot. This class has UD capture which is very helpful.

She provides all the materials you need to pass the class and makes it easy for you as long as you try. She assigns a decent amount of homework compared to other professors but it helps to balance out grades if you don't too well on the exams. There are study sessions too that give you extra credit and they are helpful.

One of the best teachers, she is always really clear in lecture and has a half group work - half lecture structure that emphasizes retention and understanding of the topic. If you put the work in you'll do well in the class. She's always available & has a lot of resources if you need more explanation on certain subjects.

Dr. Ly is great! Going in with knowledge of statistics is very helpful. You have 3 exams that build on one another and you can do test revisions for the first 2. You do group work once a week and most of the lectures are online so you have to watch them before class. If you stay up to date on lectures you will be fine.

Dr. Ly really cares about her students. I took PSYC100 during COVID-19 and she always asked us how we and our families were doing. Her class wasn't too hard. She has slides but doesn't write much on them so you have to listen. She takes clicker attendance but records lectures. A lot of homework, but nothing difficult. Just study and you'll be fine.

Class was moved to online during Covid-19 and it got easier online. Class is weighted heavily on exams and discussion posts so it's important to put effort into both of those. There is a lot of work but she gives 2% extra credit. Read the textbook because it HELPS A LOT for exams and discussion posts.

Dr. Ly is the best psych professor I've taken at UD. I also had her for PYSC100 and she's very considerate and understanding and really cares about her students. There is a lot of work that takes time and lots of reading but she organizes it well so it's all manageable. She's always there for her students in every way!

This was a great online class! We had one weekly quiz on the material, but you have unlimited time and it was open for two days. Her lectures that she posts are very good and go over everything in the chapter. Our final is a project so I never had to study for this class.

Weekly quiz, reflection, and discussion reading along with lecture and text reading. A lot of work but if you reach out she's willing to help. Also a final project not exam.

Dr. Ly is a really great professor, especially for an asynchronous online course. She posts videos to go over tough material and really breaks it down to make it easier to understand. She also gives you the opportunity to revise your work which is really awesome. You can tell she really wants you to do well, I would take a class with her again!

If it was easier honestly it probably wouldn't prepare you for further PYSC courses in your major. She is super nice outside of class and willing to give help, but the course is asynchronous self-paced. Extra credit opps too.

She posted a module for every week with video lectures, a discussion article, and a weekly quiz. The quizzes are definitely tough, so studying is necessary!

If I could take every psyc class w/ Dr Ly I would. She presented material in an engaging way & wasn't just constant lecturing. She connected our material to real-life events. Our participation was through typed discussions this made it easier to get participation points. We could redo our big assignments & get points back as well to show we learned

I had Dr. Ly for pscy100 and I couldn't say anything bad about my experience! Each week lectures were posted which sometimes contained video questions. As long as you take detailed notes, the weekly quizzes weren't bad at all. We also had discussion board due every Thursday, and basically was graded on thoroughness/completeness. Def recommend!

her online asyn. psyc class was great. it was clear what we had to do each week. she also offered lots of extra-credit and cared about her students. she gave us a week off because we expressed to her that we were stressed about midterms. no exams or essays. some quizzes were hard but u just need to study the textbook/lectures and you can get an A!

I really enjoyed Dr. Ly's lectures, she gives lots of examples to help students understand the material & she's happy to answer any questions. Super friendly. She takes the time to explain the material. The work load for her general psych course was a fair amount. About 3-4 assignments a week; but they're easy if you take good notes.

Professor Ly is very kind and always willing to help if you need it. Even though the class is asynchronous she is always available for office hours and email. There are a lot of lectures but they are good and she gives many examples to help you understand.

Dr. Ly is such a great professor. Although there are about 8 lecture videos per week, they are short and to the point. There is a quiz on that week's module every Sunday, but they are in place of exams. No final exam - just a reflection assignment as the final project. I can not recommend Dr. Ly enough, she is a great choice for PSYC100!

She was probably the most accessible teacher I've had--she had plenty of office hours and encouraged all students to meet with her just to discuss the course. She really wanted to make sure we understood the material.

Big focus on teamwork and the class is very structured and organized. She really cares about her students and offers a lot of office hours. Great professor and she made me really enjoy and actually learn and retain the information we were learning.

There's perusall assignments every week but they're easy, thought question responses every other week, a photovoice assignment due at the end of the semester, and two exams. My class was asynchronous but You are really graded on two things. Weekly quizzes (which were open notes) and Perusall Discussions. Believe me when I say this class was easy. But you really should take notes on the Lectures if you want to do good on the quizzes.

My class was totally online, but the lectures were really helpful, and the quizzes related to what we had learned in recorded lectures. There were quizzes every week, but if you took notes from the ones she had formatted, then you would do good in the class.

Took this class ASYN which was challenging since there was no meeting time, but overall from her videos she was a very nice professor. The material is easy as long as you watch the videos she posts. Lots of extra credit like once a week and most assignments took 10 minutes max. Final is a project and only weekly tests are given, all open note.

I've never had a professor that was so caring about students' mental health before! The class isn't easy and you definitely have to put the work in, though. Class is a bit easier if you've taken stats before, but she really gets you to understand the material inside and out, so I recommend taking it even if you have taken a stats course before.

Take this professor if you need PSYC100. As long as you watch the lecture videos and take notes you'll be good. Seems like a lot of work, but space it out and you'll be fine. She gives extensions and extra credit. The class is ASYN but she makes it so that you know exactly what has to get done each week. No need to get the textbook btw.

I LOVE THIS PROFESSOR WITH MY WHOLE HEART. The best professor I've ever had. She is extremely understanding and accessible to her students. The content of the class is very interesting but the weekly quizzes were very difficult. Definitely wish this class was held in person because I would've learned so much more.

Weekly videos, perusalls were annoying but easy to bs, the quizzes could be a little hard sometimes but ultimately not bad. The weekly reflections also seemed pointless. She's really nice though, the studies you have to do are also annoying.

This class was moved to asynchronous a week before the semester started and I'm thankful. The class is very content heavy that wasn't super difficult but if we had in person exams, it would be challenging. The canvas page was very easy to navigate and the grading was very fair. Try to take this class asynchronous or at least online if you can.

This class was asynchronous when I took it and I hated that. I felt like I was never on top of my work and always felt stressed, so if you ever take this class I would recommend find one that is in person. There was a lot of lectures that we had to watch that were up to 30 minutes long. In order to do well you had to watch those lectures.

Dr Ly is an amazing woman with a huge heart. Her psych 100 class this fall was amazing. She has 3 weekly quizzes which you get 3 tries on and a little blog you have to make 3 comments on. She has 3 exams, including the final, which are all open notes. There is an individual and group part of the exams.

Homework is the same every week: 3 short online quizzes and 1 online discussion. 3 exams throughout the semester which are online and open note. I recommend going to lecture even though it is not mandatory because information from class will be on the exam that is not sometimes in the textbook.

The class is easy if you go to lectures. The tests are open note so if you take good notes, you will do great. When I did have problems with her she responded promptly but was not super helpful in response. The homework has many attempts so if you put in the time it's easy. Overall a great class and an enthusiastic professor.

She is a lovely lady that that really thinks for us. We have small online discussions to write everyone's opinions which let me learn about other people's thoughts. The tests are all in canvas in two parts. The first part is done by yourself and the second part is done in groups, and the two parts are exactly the same! It is an enjoyable course.

A fantastic Psyc experience for a non-psyc major. She cares about her students and is very open with everything going on in the course and what is coming up/required soon.

She was good at lecturing, but I often found that she would talk about nothing the whole class, then introduce new topics at the end. Also, there was way too many assignments, especially at the end of the semester, for it just being a 100-level class. The exam are all open notes and there is a group portion as well.

Every week there are group homeworks which are not too bad, but they can be lengthy sometimes. I would say that the amount of effort you put in will be reflected in your grade.

Good teacher, nice person, and very easy to talk to. There is a lot of "busywork," but nothing too difficult. Explained everything clearly. Her slides are blank, so you need to pay attention in class and listen to what she says. She gives you a 24-hour grace period when turning in assignments, and she doesn't take off points for that.

Dr. Ly was a great professor, there was a good about of assignments each week but it helped pull up your grade. The test were hard-ish, stuff from the homework quizzes and notes. You do need to come to class to get the notes, but her lectures are very good and she gives bonus points if you participate. I would take her class again.

I want to preface that Prof. Ly is very sweet and I love her as a person. However, the lectures felt like we covered 1 lecture worth of material in 5 lectures, and the big exams were hard even when the mini exams were a breeze. Dr. Ly is genuinely such a sweet and caring person. There are not a ton of assignments, just a big project due at the end of the semester. Her class isn't necessarily hard, you just have to not skip and make sure you do the poll everywhere, she asks a lot of the similar questions on the exam. The exams are only MC and not super complicated.

I'm not really sure why so many ppl are complaining sm about her.The exams were literally word for word of what she told us. As long as you actually write down what she teaches and listen it should be super easy. And the projects directions were extremely clear, so again as long as you read them and listened to her directions, it was an easy 100.
