Mr. Din can seem brash and hard, but he does it to weed out the people not committed to the class. You will see a complete difference in your perspective of government after this class.

Great class, good lectures. There is a fair amount of writing in the class, though Mr. Din is not an overly hard grader. Final grade consisted of 5 essays, a research project, 5 or so pop quizes, a mid-term, and a final. The mid-term and final were multiple choice. Lots extra credit offered. Key to doing well in his class is not procrastinating.

For essays be sure to put in your own point of view, helps alot in higher grades. MLA citation is very important.

Has high standards but he makes it very clear what he wants from you. I personally was able to look up the answers for the tests and made 40-50/50 on each of the tests. The essays and db forum were a bit harder and I definitely put more effort into this class than any other online class I have taken. That being said, though, he was fair and clear.

I took the on-line course during summer and it was one of the most challenging courses. The plus is that the class taught me a lot - the minus is that this professor tends to micro managae your attendance. If you can deal with that then you'll be alright.

This professor knows what he is doing. I juust finished his online GOVT class this summer (09) and I can tell you that his class is def. helpful! The class does require alot of reading and typing for essays but that is typical of a Hist/Govt. class! If you do what he says and maybe a bit over you will have an A for sure!

I had my doubts about this class, since I have no interest in government. BUT, he is an excellent professor. Definitely knows what he's talking about, and expects his students to be knowledgeable as well. Study, read the book, BE IN CLASS, and do everything he asks. No slacking, and you'll be fine.

Took the winter semester course. 3 essays, 3 tests, and a film project. Essays take some time but they are really interesting and so is the film project. Tests go by the book but aren't worth as much as the essays. So I didn't worry about studying for the tests and still made an A. Definitely take this professor!

Mr. Din really cares how you do. He is helpful and responds to email. I just took him for Govt2302 online and I was able to earn an A. There are three units. Each unit has a test, essay and board post. I did not do well on the tests and spent the majority of my time on the papers and board posts and did well on those. This is a manageable class.

Love Mr. Din's teaching method. Be ready to do A TON of homework but learn a lot. He is fair in his grading but show up for class and get the work done!!

Took this class on-line. If you read the syllabus it is self-explanatory. He is helpful if you ask. Plan on taking him for GOVT 2. He is fair and just wants you to do the work like every other teacher. If you have gotten this far in school then you are not in the category of a child left behind. I recommend him highly.

Mr. Din is very knowledgeable about the topic he teaches. You will find out the crystal understanding about how the political process works, but keep in mind that if you are lazy, you will get troubles on the assignment given. Grade A will be easy if you try your best.

There are three keys to earning a good grade in Mr. Din's class. First - disipline. You have to keep up and complete all the assignments on time (especially the Annotated Research Paper). Second - Organization. Mr. Din gives you a better grade if your thoughts are organized in a logical manner. Third - time managment. This is huge!!

I recommend taking this professor. This class has a lot of work associated with it, but the professor makes it extremely easy going as long as you read the book and follow his help links that he provides for students. He definitely wants you to succeed therefore he's really helpful as long as you ask for it.

I had Professor Din online for both required government courses. I have no interest in politics as a nursing major, but he helped keep my interest enough to get it over with. Took the minimester 4 week class and had 10 chapter tests, 2 discussion forums, 2 unit essays and 1 Film Project. I really enjoyed Mr.Din's class. His teaching format is very clear and precise. He communicates with the class clearly in his fun lectures and also through his emails. You'll have fun in his class as he will challenge you to climb higher than you've ever been. No tests, just some chapter quizzes and essays with lots of extra credits available.

This couse was online during intersession so exams and papers were due once a week. Prof Din gave access to paper topics and syllabus before official start of class. This was extremely help for me to slowly work on assignments and not become overwhelmed by the course.

Freaking best teacher ever, the dude sent me to Ohio to work on a campaign during the '08 elections instead of doing a research paper. He get's so involved in his instructing, you can't help but be drawn in. He is a teacher of teachers. Ridiculously amazing. Straight forward - no nonsense course. There are no tests; quizzes prior to each chapter (just read the chapter and you'll ace the quiz)and three essays. Prof. Din is quick to respond and grades are posted promptly. Grading on essays is objective.

I took is power course in Spring 2013 which was half online and half in-class. The topics and issues that he brings really helps both getting good grade for class and apply them in real life. His instructions are very straight-forward and only two out of four essays were required so you can learn what he wants from first submission.Great professor!

He is tough, real and doesn't play. Rough around the edges but he truly cares and really loves what he does. He opens your mind and gives 'Government' a diff. meaning. Totally worth the power course!!! Don't take if you're not willing to work hard.

Mr. Din is an excellent professor. His course and expectations are laid out clearly in the syllabus. He is firm, direct and passionate in his role. Choose Mr. Din if you want to be challenged and pushed to your very best ability. He encourages critical thinking and the application of your learning. Prepare to work very diligently in his class.

Instructor Din is a no-nonsense educator. He believes that the grade you earn is based on the effort that you put in. The course requires a lot of reading and paper writing, but that is standardized for the class, it is not instructor oriented. You MUST keep up with the class or you WILL fall behind, be diligent if you take this as a short class.

He was a great professor, however he did expect a lot and the research papers were the heaviest part of the course assignments. Papers are impossible if you procrastinate. Quizzes weren't hard as long as you read the chapters, and there were other minimal assignments as well as multiple extra credit opportunities.

If taking it as a 4/5 week class, make sure you make enough time for the assignments. Also, DO NOT procrastinate because the assignments take a lot of time and research. All in all, I thought it was great class, but it was not easy.

Professor Din is enthusiastic, responsive, attentive, and cares about the success of his students. You have to manage your time well, but you will truly learn a great deal in this class. I had to work very hard, but I'm so grateful I took his class. I have a better understanding of politics, and I feel like I'm a better citizen now.

Mr. Din was one of my favorite teachers I have ever had. His class is very challenging, but every single class was made interesting and enjoyable. Read the textbook to do well on the quizzes, and be able to write papers properly. He grades on your ability to formulate an opinion on something, and then be able to express your thoughts clearly. Doing this (along with showing up in class every day) makes this class an easy A. Anything less, however, and this class is probably hard.

But I ask you this: Do you really want to spend your educational career taking the easy route, depriving yourself of the knowledge that you pay for? It is only through these challenges that you will be able to reach your potential. If you feel up to the challenge Mr. Din will guide you.

Pay careful attention to the information in the syllabus regarding requirements for each assignment and leave lots of time for research. He is strict but also very fair.

This was a great class. Read the chapters and work the practices quizzes in the book. Essays are very important in class be sure to answer all the questions asked and formulate your own options on topics. Read syllabus and just follow the directions. I took it online and love it!

The professor is pretty good. He gave a lot of feedback on assignments, which he usually graded within a couple of days. Even though I took the online course, he did not seem detached from the class but active. There is a significant writing portion of the class, so if you're not good at research papers, I would brush up before taking the class.

I took Mr. Din's online class over the summer and it was a lot more interesting and engaging than I expected a community college Texas government class to be. His interest in making sure everyone succeeds is apparent by the helpful feedback he gives after every unit. His unit essays are very thought-provoking too.

More than one freinds have recommended his online class. It was organized and he doesn't move things around during the semester. I found directions on every topic to be clear. He also offers help with weekly reminders blasts and answer my questions promptly. I worked for it, but learned a lot about Texas.

This class was by far the most amazing experience I have had while here at Brookhaven !! Prof. Din is extremely organized with everything well put together, his assignments while hard made the course materials easy to comprehend. I took this course in a fast track online. This course was very difficult and very specific. In order to do well you must not procrastinate and work on the assignments giving yourself enough time. The writing assignments are very very specific so you must be very detailed at the directions. Overall, it was a difficult course but you can get a A.

Govt2305 was an awesome class, I learned a lot!! I took the Maymester course, which was very fast-paced; however, it was extremely efficient and as long as you keep up with the quizzes and put forth effort on the two papers, you will do well! He's a pretty easy grader, and really really cares about his students! Get ready for tons of emails though!

Hes not bad, took him for summer 1 online. hess very tough grader. will give you no credit if you have 1 or 2 mistakes which is ridiculous. but overall not bad. would take again if i had to...

I would recommend this instructor he was very clear in what needed to be done to pass the class and assignments were easy to comprehend. If you do the assigned readings and have a clear understanding of the material you will do very well in his class. He also helps you in applying what you learn in the text through the research for the assignments.

I have taken several online classes, so I feel Professor Din does an excellent job of "spelling everything out" in the syllabus of what he expects from this course and from the student. In addition, he reiterates it in emails throughout the course. But it is a 4 week course, so if you aren't ready to dedicate your time then do not take this course.

Download the video transcripts and read through it. It's a good summary of the textbook and search quizlets for this course. Alot of the questions are on the quiz so its a good idea to review them. Din always answers questions in a timely manner. Papers and discussions were super easy. Everything you need is in his syllabus so always refer to it.

He is extremely communicative and detailed when assigning work. However, be prepared to write essays. He puts very little value on tests, which are open book and easy, but the essays need to follow a very specific protocol. If you do not like to write, I would advise against this professor. If you do -- take him.

i loved his class! There were many great lectures and it was very educational to hear from him and other students during lectures. The class it's not easy but if you do the work and study you'll do fine. He is a great teacher! One of the best Brookhaven has to offer!

This man has worked for the government and knows almost every facet of the government. His lectures are phenomenal and packed with information. He is strict in his assignment criteria, so BE SURE everything is 100% perfect, he does not give exceptions to anything(no name, you get a 0, etc.). He is a wonderful and passionate professor/pedagogue.

I'm currently enrolled in Professor Din's joint class with history Professor Sinclair. The class has been amazing- Professor Din is so passionate and honest about government. He wakes the class up with his humor and real examples that start class discussions. He has conquered his job as an objective teacher who has to teach some touchy subjects.

This is the second government course I have taken with Mr. Din. He is super helpful and really clear. The quizzes are super easy because he cares a lot more about the essays (which in my online class there were only two- not bad at all). Good course overall. Would definitely recommend.

Professor Din was great, online class is 2 units per the 16 week course. Each unit consists of 10 quizzes and one unit project. He is engaged with the students/fully explains any questions/and gives extra credit. Allows you to work on your own without much oversight but is there if you need with all the help you request!

Professor Din is great, took Govt 2305 and 2306 with him online in mini mesters. It does involve a lot of reading, but as long as you follow the SYLLABUS you will be OK! He is super helpful sending e-mails reminding you due dates, remember all you gotta do is follow the SYLLABUS, it does involve a lot of work, but is definitely worth it :)

Din is a true "university style" professor. Expects a lot out of every student. If you are not willing to spend a lot of hours reading, writing essays, and researching then do not take this class. The material is not boring, neither is Din. I respect him immensely and the class is a lot of fun. Attendance is mandatory for grade, very strict rules.

Two chances at every quiz so if you don't get a 100 it's a travesty. As for the essays, follow directions, doesn't matter if you're writing is atrocious, doesn't matter if it's basically wrong, as long as you put enough sentences together to meet the length requirement it's a 100.

I was able to complete most of the course during my lunch breaks at work. The instructions were always very clear and helped me finish the course. I took Professor Din for an online class. I do not like Government. However, this class was easy as in, it is basic homework. You have to read each chapter in order to pass the quizzes and the answers come straight from the book. He is great at emails and will be very clear on grading criteria so you are never surprise.

My high school freinds recommended prof. Din from last semester, they said he is the best teacher for government. This was true, he is very interesting and has many fun assignments like movies, campaign stuff and the group project. He also gives extra credit and there is no tests. Nothing is easy, but he makes it fun.

Im glad I took prof. Din class this semester, he is funny and really goes in depth about whats happening in the world. Never a boring day, always had good lectures and videos. He will hangs out after the class to answer questions, giving many tips about essays and also sends many e-mails of reminders. My favorite class so far in college.

I took his class online, and although we didn't meet face to face he would make sure to remind us of everything that was due a couple times a week via email. Everything was clear and to the point. It was mostly quizzes on each chapter and two papers that had many topics to choose from (both very easy). Easy A if you do not procrastinate.

I took professor Din for 2305 GOVT and enjoyed it. He had multiple quizzes for each chapter that were not timed, and exams for each chapter that were timed. I took him online, look forward to taking him for 2306 GOVT. He had 1 major project that required research and proper citing but if you plan ahead, then you can pass.

Very easy Gov 2 class I took it during Maymester 2018. Chapter quizzes, one unit essay, and one final essay. That's all the class was. The chapter quizzes (open book) were super easy straight from the book and practice quizzes. (It is timed tho, so you don't have tons of time to go through notes). The essays are easy with academic sources.

I have nothing but good feedback on this professor. This course is fairly easy to excel in as long as you follow the syllabus and read the textbook. I greatly recommend this professor if you're one of those people that do better in essays than in tests. He's also a great communicator in advising students accordingly rather than ignoring your errors

I had a good experience in his am-gov express format class. It was a bit stressful if you don't plan ahead. 13 quizzes are easy and open book, but 2 major essays must meet his minimum requirements. If you lose credit for either one it can hurt your grade really bad, but he gives you all the information to pass and also great feedback on errors.

Professor Din is strict when it comes to properly citing essays, so make sure you read close instructions! Deadlines are easy to meet because he gives you enough time! Procrastination is not good when doing quizzes or essays. Passed the class with an A! And he sends e-mails often!

Took this course over winter break and it was easy! He sends a lot of e-mails and was very clear on his instructions. 2 test, 1 rough draft term paper, 1 final draft term paper. Notes were on a powerpoint and need to take online quizzes/ homework that you can keep on taking to get a 100 after each chapter. As long as you do the work, you'll be ok.

This is a great class because of the teacher. He will reply to a question the same day and will give a re-write for the first paper. The quiz is based on the book and unlimited until perfect scores. I just used his comments and reminders to get an A.

I failed the midterm exams when I took his online government class. He provided extra credit opportunities and gave me feedback on how to do better in the next exam. Professor Din taught a fully online course, without any formal instructional meetings, but he still managed to build a level of comradery within the class. About 30% of the grade is through discussion forum assignments, and the rest is from chapter quizzes that are very simple and directly from the readings. Overall, would recommend.
