The most difficult instructor I ever dealt with.
I took his course in June summer session and liked it very much, very organized and all grading posted fast. If you send him e-mail, he will reply in less than one hour. Very good instructor, I liked him for online course.
his expectations are too high for community level but he is working on his bedside manner. call him on issues it makes a difference in his level of helping u
The professor opened his online class a few weeks early and that was a God send. I had to work hard for research on essays, but got A+.
You learn so much from his lectures. There is no time for slacking, but this class is worth taking.
I learned more about Government from Mr. Din in one semester than in my 12 years of basic education. Definitely not the class for you if you're a procrastinator though. Dont believe its possible to leave his class the same. (Unless of course, you're a day dreamer) I reccomend his course completely.
Mr. Din is one of the best professors at Brookhaven. He is always ready to help a student, but do not procrastinate in his class. Participation is a must, but he makes it fun and encourages your individual thoughts. He is inspirational, and dedicated to his students. I had no interest in Government, however, he has inspired me to be more involved.
Ahad is a professional on all levels. He has an extraordinary background in the subject. Be ready to read and study for quizzes which are due every other week, online. Writing is enjoyable and easy to get an A if you are prepared. Take this course if you are interested in Government.
This was honestly a really fun class to take. Yes you will have to read your Chapters and take every exam the best you can. The professors guidelines are perfect, if you follow what you are told you are sure to get a good grade. This class takes great thinkers so stay focus and you will pass with flying colors. Don't procrastinate!!
Mr. Din is an excellent teacher. The class requires you to work. Only take the class if you are committed to learn and improve your writing skills. The professor is always available if you have questions.
Mr Din's lectures are fantastic, especially since they are formatted towards open discussion; classroom video presentations are riveting and his assignments incredibly hard. A very inspirational instructor; I would take him again. Be warned: Take English 1302 writing beforehand! Knowing how to conduct research helps for the written assignments!
I took his class online in May which was like a 3-week course. I had to take a chapter quiz everyday after reading each chapter+ 2 essays & 1 final project paper. It was really challenging but he helped me through. I think in a regular semester class, it wouldnt be this tough. Would take him again! it's not easy but you'll get what you worked for.
If you fail his class, it is your fault. He is the best and never got scared by his numerous emails, they are keys to make easy A's so read them.
Mr. Din is an excellent teacher. He makes you aware of all his expectations on day one, and holds you to them. His teaching methods rely, more on essays and reports than it does on standardized testing. You will earn whatever grade you receive and you will be proud of it when the class is over.
It is A LOT of reading!! Be prepared to do research and write papers, DO NOT procrastinate on the assignments because it will cost you in the long run. He requires alot, but if you have any questions he's more than welcome to help.
Professor Din is one of the best instructors I've had. His class is well organized and he provides you with all the tools necessary to be successful in the class. As long as you do the readings and make sure to ALWAYS include 2-3 scholarly sources plus current events in your discussions, you'll make an A. I would recommend taking his class.
I took prof Din's class over the summer & had to drop the class, re-took his class in the fall & thank god I did. It was a lot easier meaning I had more time for his assignments. Great teacher, emails back asap, easy to talk to if you have questions or concerned with your grade. Easy A if you take time to do the work, quiz's are easy too. take him.
Due to illness in family and my own bad time management (start doing things early!), I was late submitting my work for Unit 1. There are 3 units, including a couple of essays and one long research paper. Even then, I was able to make up everything and earn an A because Units 1 and 2 were eitheror optional! Great, helpful, smart and cool professor.
Class is not easy but if the work is done you will pass. Make sure to use the RESERCH CENTER for your work cited it is very important in order to pass the class!
The most caring and engaged professor. He is very devoted to his job and it is very clear to see that! He truly cares about his students. I wish I had taken him in an actual on-campus class that lasted the entire semester (instead of the mini-mester I took) because I'm sure he is even more amazing in person. Highly recommend him!
Great teacher - I would recommend him to anyone. He is a stickler for his guidelines, but they are very well defined and if you follow all of his instructions, it would not be difficult to do well in one of his classes. He was also very helpful when I came to him with questions about a paper.
Great teacher
Grade consists of open-book multiple choice tests, discussion posts, and essays. If you have good reading comprehension you should be fine just reading without taking notes (the review material for tests helps a lot). Writing portions were pretty simple; he's just a stickler for the guidelines so follow those exactly. Easy A if you try.
Awesome professor. Always makes himself available. Also provides lots of resources in order to do well.
Such an amazing teacher! I am so grateful I had Mr. Din. I don't feel like I lost out by taking the online class at all. He was invested in the class, he communicated with students, and was exceedingly helpful when I needed assistance. I dreaded taking GOVT, but I had him for 2305 and 2306 and enjoyed every second of both classes. Take his class!!
Overall a pretty good professor- a perfectionist though. If you don't mind that and all the stress go for it. I find him to be a little petty when grading though. Good luck!
Professor Din is awesome! I took his online government class and I finished the whole thing in about 3 weeks. Don't get behind on the midterm paper or POTUS memo project because those do take time. He gives you great feedback & responds to emails/questions promptly. He is really invested in helping his students learn and grow.
I really enjoyed taking 2306 online with Mr. Din. He sent out multiple emails throughout the course for deadline reminders and tips on research outlets. The topics for discussions and papers were very interesting . The assignments were relative to current events which helped me apply the course material to my every day life.
seems to be really passionate about government. Allows you to work for the grade. Tons of research. came out of the class more enlightened and knowledgeable than i went in. I would recommend him not because its an easy class(its not) but because of the quality. Also gives good feedback on assignments.
I took Professor Din for GOVT 2305 and 2306 online and he is an awesome professor. The class consists of 2 units there's 3 chapter activities for every chapter, 2 discussion boards, and 2 essays. He is very precise and strict on how he wants assignments done. I learned so much in this class and would recommend it to anyone taking GOVT.
He is incredibly challenging, but also quite fair. His papers can be difficult, and definitely require full engagement. However, his grading criteria is also very clear, so you will recieve an 'A' if you follow all of the directions. Also, be sure to study before class, in case of pop quizzes. This is definitely a "university level" professor.
He is knowledgeable, clear on objectives and test criteria.
Took GOVT for fall/online, it was only 4 weeks and the professor really makes you work! He is very helpful and sends many emails to help the students. Essays are hard as well as DB. Make sure to use the research center! it is one of the keys to succeed in the class. Overall the class is very helpful and expect to lean a lot! Will take it again!
Professor Din was excellent at communicating with the class, sometimes sending several emails a day. This was helpful because the course was over winter break. He made sure to give us fair warning before upcoming due dates and he gave helpful feedback. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a government teacher.
Please do not take this professor he is the worst I had by far. He will wait to your last grade and give you a you a zero for a work you did really good and work had, he have no compassion with students, his instructions are completely confusing. I don't think he is a good professor never take him. Most of my classmates were disappointed with him.
I learned a lot in Professor Din's classes and would recommend him to anyone taking a online GOVT class. I had him for both GOVT 2305 and 2306. He was awesome! There are only 2 units with 3 chapter activities for every chapter, 2 discussion boards, and 2 major essays. He is very clear about what he wants on assignments and sends a lot of reminders.
Lots of essay writing in this class
He does not read the essays online due to the fact I turned in one paper that I did not try at all, and turned in last minute just to receive a grade and got an A. Then the last TERM project I turned in I tried hard, visited the tutor, emailed my paper to University students to examine, and turned it in and received an F. He grades untruthfully.
I was nervous but as long as you follow the syllabus you can pass the class easy with an A. I am not a government type student and passed with a "A". Quizzes are easy, get ahead and do the mid-term essay and POTUS project early and you will have no problem passing. Do not fall behind because deadlines are set but manageable.
Mr. Din was incredible! I actually looked forward to class each mon/wed. I hate history and government, but ended up learning a ton more than I thought was possible for a basic class.
Very dedicated and thorough professor. He gives great feedback on essays if you submit rough drafts ahead of time. All the course requirements are explained in great detail in the syllabus and his emails, so there's never any confusion. He sends reminders, so it's impossible to miss deadlines. It's a well-structured course that also requires work
Unnecessarily difficult. Thinks he's some revolutionary professor. He sends emails like the world is ending and the only way to save the universe is to send as many emails as possible.
He is a great online prof. He answered every questions quickly, sent advices and many reminders to ensure you can get a very good grade and even posted the class early for a short semester. I will take him again for the next class too, you can only fail if you don't try.
He grades tough, but will help you if needed. Don't be afraid to go into his office hours. If you put in the effort hell help you. At a minimum, you will know your rights at the end of class.
By far my least favorite professor I've had. He is a very tough grader and is not afraid to give a zero if he does not think that you met his expectations. I do not think he realizes he is teaching a gen ed at a community college. Would not take another course with him.
While he's a tough grader, the papers I wrote for this class really helped me learn about Texas government. Mr. Din is very, very helpful and is always available through email. His expectations are clear and as long as you follow all guidelines, you will do well. He outlines everything that you need to do to succeed. I recommended this professor!
I have taken government 2305 and 2306 with Professor Din and he is amazing. His work is laid out on the course syllabus and as long as you do the work you will pass. Please buy the book, because you will need it for your chapter quizzes. You will have two attempts to receive a perfect score. There's a midterm paper, a term paper and two discussions
Be prepared to stay on top of things. Read the syllabus carefully for submission requirements. Very stringent on minimum requirements.
Professor Din was a very good teacher, he would quickly reply to e-mails and was clear in his expectations regarding writing assignments. He often gave talking points with the topics which made it easier to write. He is very strict when it comes to requirements but if you meet them and plan ahead you will be successful in the course.
Gives opportunity to turn in drafts that he revises and let's you fix for a higher grade. Chapter activities were easy and straight forward. Quizzes can be attempted twice. A couple of essays throughout the course which expectations were very clear on what to do to pass. I took him for a flex summer class and Professor made it go by very smooth.
Professor Din is an absolutely amazing teacher. Even though the dates for work is on the syllabus, he emails you ahead of time just incase you forget.
If you're looking to take online Texas Government over the summer, choose Mr. Din. As long as you do the work to his specifications, you will get an A. Just stay on top of the two papers, two discussion forums, and chapter activities. He's a nice guy - even though I never saw him in person, he emails an enormous amount with tips for students.
Great professor! I took both government courses online with this professor, both went great! Great communication. As long as you stay up do date with your assignments and do not procrastinate, you are on your way to receive an A+.
He doesn't want to understand the students situation for late work and is not friendly at all. No extension for assignments No matter what and very sensitive and difficult about the essays. I was late 4 minutes to submit my essay and I lost 300 points and I got to drop it. Manage your time and work hard on your essays you will be OK! I guess :)
Online course taken for GOVT 2305. Always e-mails the class with specific information and brief messages of encouragement. Easy to get an A if you are willing to commit your time and manage it accordingly. Do not fall behind, especially if it is a 5 week course like mine was!
He is not afraid to give out a zero if you did not mention something in your work that he required that was not even on the syllabus. If you send him an email asking for help or have a question his reply will be "read the syllabus"even though the question you have isn't mentioned in the syllabus. He was not helpful and not specific. DON'T TAKE HIM!
Just don't take him.. he's honestly just awful You'll either fail or barely pass
Very clear cut in his instructions with the syllabus. Sends out -frequent- emails to give you encouragement and to remind you of deadlines. Strict on MLA standards. Don't get behind (in fact, get a jump start and you'll do great!) Stay on track, don't procrastinate and read your material! Not hard, just put in the effort and you'll easily pass.
The summer course consists of fourteen chapters worth of quizzes that are done through elearning. He also assigns two essays with various topics to chose from. Easy A if the minimum work is put into the class.
Professor Din's lessons are clear and his teaching materials are diverse: Chapter Quizzes, Mid-Term Essay, Memorandum, Discussion Boards, etc. Besides, he instructs exactly what he means, and just read your text books and you will able be to answer questions to his assignments that are based on text books. Also, do your research well on topics.
way to tough! He is not flexible at all and writing assignment are very strict. Expects you to do to much I have to take this course again bcz of this teacher. AVOID!!!
Mr. Din gives hilarious lectures that will make think! Comes off as being unapproachable (the coach in him) but he isn't and is willing to help! Tardiness on ANYTHING is a NO NO and one of his pet peeves! Don't waste his or your time if you can't commit to finishing your work on time or at all! Great professor though!
Professor Din provides you a clear and detailed criteria to be successful in the course. Therefore, do not expect any leeway and do not attempt to take shortcuts. STAY ON TOP OF YOUR WORK TO PASS. He is very knowledgeable in the subject, so you will learn something new everyday. Personally, he's one of the best teachers I have ever had.
For those who are eager to engage in a more thoughtful discussion, and truly appreciate this type of lecture, I would HIGHLY recommend Mr. Din. While the course load is heavy, his expectations are CLEARLY stated. I seriously had a blast this semester and will miss this class. If you want to learn and have a great time while doing it, pick him!
If I were you, I won't take this Professor, unless you are ready to work very hard. He is a tough grader, and you don't do discussion board like any other class, you can't communicate with your fellow student , therefore be careful. You feel like being in the army taking his class.. wishing you good luck
Mr. Din provided a very clear syllabus at the beginning of the semester. The assignments are divided into 2 Units. Each unit contains quizzes for each chapter, 1 forum posting, 1 forum response, and 1 essay. If you stay on top of the assignments for each unit, you will do fine. You'll read the entire book, but its an easy read.
Professor Din is a great instructor! I took his class for a wintermester and only had 3 weeks to complete the course. He has a very clear grading system, as long as you follow the criteria you'll be find. He sends out reminder emails often, and replies quickly to emails you send him. work hard on the POTUS project and quizzes and you'll pass with A
Pretty cool dude, super active with students and seems like he really cares about them and their performance. Really active with emails and updates class when things change and also offers feedback pretty regularly. Definitely the best online professor I've had.
I had taken this course during winter term. Although It was a short period to go through the course, but Professor Din had everything laid out nicely, and all info was clearly defined. In case you forgot, Professor DIn urged you on with his emails, provided great feedback and timely responses. Take this course with Din, it is a no brainer!!!
Never take professor, no matter what you do, you will get an F. His teaching methods comes from the army, so strict. Not compassionate in anyways with student. I will recommend you take another teacher. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Mr. Din was very clear regarding his expectations of this course, while the final essay may be difficult and seem impossible, if you follow his outline you will get a successful grade.
One of the toughest instructors I've ever had..
Very touch prof., lots of writing. His discussion boards are mini research essays. Book needed for quizzes. Anything written must contain 2-3 scholarly sources (internet information is not accepted so the research can be difficult). I do not recommend this teacher unless you have enough time to research information inside limited scholarly sources.
This is hands down the worst professor that I have ever had. He makes you not want to try at all because he gives out 0 so easily. I wrote a paper and part of my citation was cut off so he gave me a 0- the same grade he would have given to someone who did not even do it. He is what you call one of those "teachers in power."
I taken a 1/2 semester course and it was very good. Syllabus was very clear and I know precisely what to do for maximum grade. All deadlines are posted in syllabus and online. Many resources to help international students, like tutors and other links. Also, I failed a first essay and was able to fix with Dr. Din help called mulligan paper.
This was a great class. Took it in express session and had no problem getting everythig done. Very organized and easy to follow directions. There are many reminders and tools to help with assignments. I definitly recommend it for an online course.
Took him for a flex term course (about a month long). Read a 25 chapter book in 3 days for the discussion board & got a 0 because my sources were not peer reviewed (same as someone who wouldn't have done it at all). A LOT of time & dedication is needed for this class b/c there is a unnecessary amount of writing & research.
Toughest Teacher ever. Uses his powers to fail students over trivial matters. Gives you 0 for everything so easily. One small mistake in your 10-day long project/assignment and gives you ZERO! NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!! Does not take time to read the whole assignments or considers the hard work and time put into it.
Easy class, just do the work and you pass. All activity's have clear directions and some have models. My tutor helped with the essays and I got all A. Mr. Din sends many reminders and explains all grades in detail. This is an excellent online process!
Professor Din is by far the best professor I have had on this campus. I signed up for his class on purpose because I wanted a challenge. I never expected that he would change my thinking and my goals in life. He is an inspiration to me and I couldn't recommend him any higher. He is who he is, speaks blunty and to the point. Always there for you
Would not recommend him to anyone! I had a great paper that I had reviewed by an English major and a political science major and I got an F on it because he says I did not use proper sources. He also said I did not have any current events on my paper but my whole paper was on standardized testing in Texas and it was all current events. Dont use him
The class is enjoyable. The professor stays in contact and provides information through the entire course. If you pay attention, read the material, follow instructions and complete your work on time the class is not to difficult. The materials provided are very helpful. I would have enjoy this professor again.
The best thing about this teacher is he helps you right away with questions and provides many tools for assignments. The other good thing is he will let you repeat one assignment for full credit when it gets a zero, that saved my semester!!! I plan to take his summer class and recommend him for any oneline classes.
I just completed both required government courses with Dr. Hayaud-Din in one semester and got an A in both. His syllabus is on the wordy side, but all the details for all assignments are there. He will also send reminders before deadlines and tips on how to get a better grade. It was an excellent experience and I'm glad I took his courses.
Easy class if you follow the syllabus and reminders. The Proffessor gives a lot of information thru emails to remind of coming due dates and how to do the assignments. I really appreciated that he stays in touch with the class and grades are posted the same week. Great class and professor!
Federal Government was a mandatory for my degree, but I'm glad I got to take it with professor Hayaud-Din. he was able to respond in a timely manner which is a big deal since the class was only 3 weeks long. Since it was so short working hard is essential, he is more then fair with the mulligan of the midterm and 2 attempts with all quizzes.
What I appreciated the most about this professor was how consistent he was with communication. He answered emails quickly, and kept the class well informed. He grades quickly, as well!
I took this class as mini-term and it is one of the easiest courses I've taken. He is detailed and clear about the expectations in class. He responds to emails quickly, grades quickly and gives good feedback. The only challenging part were the papers but even then he offers to help. He also offers extra credit. Best professor to take for govt!
Took in May-mester. His emails are extremely helpful so read ALL of them. You have to actually try in this class. His grading is strict and does not reward partial effort--rightfully so, because he lays EVERYTHING out for his students multiple times. Get ahead and do NOT fall behind. Make sure you know how to use the research center properly.
Whether I succeeded or failed on a particular assignment, professor Din always informed us of his criteria and his rationale for my grade. He also encouraged us to participate so that we could grasp a better appreciation and understanding of the subject matter. Success or failure is on us, we knew his grading requirements.
This professor is the worst I have ever taken!!! Unsympathetic and caused me to have to drop this class due to a death in my family. Do not recommend this professor! He has two major essays that he grades very hard which if you do not pass you will fail the class.
Took him during summer 1 break. He is the worst do not take he is very picky about your writing assignments and counts them for the majority of your grade
Be prepared to work hard and dedicate your time. This is not an easy A. Pay attention to deadlines and work accordingly. Give yourself enough time to read and understand the material. He wants you to pass. He sends you reminders by email before the due date. Don't be overwhelmed by all the tabs. Give yourself enough time to work on those essays.
Professor Din has high expectations and will hold his students to this standard. The course is highly weighted towards essays, so be prepared to write. If you do not complete essays to his satisfaction you will be failed or rewriting them so PLEASE! write them well the first time around. Stay ahead of the game and don't slack off; great teacher.
Great online teacher. He answered my emails very quickly and made me work to write good quality work.
This was my first time taking an online class which I worried because you never know if you'll understand the lesson or if you will get a response via email. I actually not once had to email the teacher everything is clearly stated on ecampus and emails he would send out almost daily. Follow the rules and you earn an A
Mr. Din is very caring and offers extra credit to make people's grades not suffer. I'm very grateful for Mr. Din and I can't wait to see a fresh start with a great gpa
The best professor, Prepares you for the course with the materials that are provided for you to succeed, gives good feedback. Projects were explained step by step, with clear examples how to cite. I recommend anyone wanting to enroll in Govt . Take this class, the professor also gives the best recommendation letters. Extra credit is also a plus.
This was one of the best professors I have had in an online setting. He gives great feedback, very specific in all assignments, and answers questions you have. The most important thing about this course is to stay on track, but the work in not necessarily hard. Two essays but if you don't put them off then they are not hard and interesting prompts.
This was one of the best professors I have had in an online setting. He gives great feedback, very specific in all assignments, and answers questions you have. He was very helpful
IT WAS A BAD EXPERIENCE.
Was a great professor! Tough at first but once the course gets going classes are a lot easier.
Not very useful in explaining things.
If you don't have thick skin, I'd probably skip this professor. 1st day of class he laughed about liking to gives girls a hard time overall. Some assignments are in-class only so if you miss that day, you miss that chance & make-ups are not allowed. For essays, he's looking for something specific so critically follow the instructions.
Dr. Din said to google his name to read a paper he published for next time and that leads me to this survey. He is a great teacher! He makes you care about government and challenges you to do something politically. He does joke about womens and poor peoples not having any power, but also says to do somethings about it. He is also very funny.
Do not recommend him at all. He is very strict on his essay grading considering its a community college level government course, he takes it way too serious. He is very rude, sarcastic, and very insensitive. He takes no consideration in the time, effort, and money spent on the class. Will fail you with no hesitation
Just took the express course with Mr. Din and it was a breeze. He provides clear directions for all the assignments, samples and many reminders. If I had a question, he answered it within a few hours. I plan to take the Texas GOVT class with him in the winter. His online class was excellent and so is he.
Make sure you follow all requirements on papers, because if you mess up on anything its a 0! Do not take a mini semester it is not worth the hassel with how he grades. There are no redo's or fixing your work if you do not follow every guideline to the T. It is almost laughable if anyone passes his class. Good luck!
He is incridibly insensitive and does not care about his students. I wish I had known how terrible he was before I registered for his class. High expectations on a basic government course and and it shows when he grades papers. So much regret with taking this professor.
I took the first half of his power course and found it to be very good. He gives clear guidelines, sends reminders and has a model paper to follow. You just have to be organized and actually do the work. He opened the class a few weeks early, so I took advantage to get ahead. Thanks for a great class Prof. Din!!!
Dont do it
mr. din is a excellent instructor. his syllabus is very organized. he send several reminder about essay deadline and cares about you getting a good grade. he is very good. highly recommended!
Unrealistic expectations. DOES not thoroughly read your paper. Has issues with women and gives poor grades as a power trip . Do not waste your time or money. Makes threats to have you fear him. I am sure more fail than pass. No mercy professor, if you are deathly sick tough do not miss an assignment. Never show weakness he will devour you.
I took history and government together and loved it. He is a bit intense, takes on hard topics and really makes you think. His lectures are amazing, he def knows his stuff. You will learn a lot, ut is a great class.
The class was amazing! Having 2 professors at the same time was the best way to learn. Mr. Din does the govt part and Mr. Sinclair does the history part. They are funny and very helpful. They do expect good work, so don't slack off and use all the extra credit options.
I took Professor Din for GOVT 2305 & 2306 online. He gives multiple attempts on quizzes and tests in order to better your grade. Just do the work and you will make an A. Nice guy.
He is the best professor i have ever taken.
I loved this class! It is super easy to get a good grade, if you stay ahead with your homework. There was only 2 major writing assignments throughout the course but are easy to do if you pay attention to the course assignments. Professor Din is great, he replies to questions via emails quickly and offered lots of extra credit opportunities.
He is really thoughtful professor! He is kind of straight grader but he will remind you important things a lot though emails and gives extra credit chance, and answers email very quick! :D
Takes his job extremely seriously, as if he's trying to make himself feel a lot more important than he is. Tries to make all assignments a lot more difficult than they should be. Just do not waste your time or money on this class. Wish I had read more of the post on here about him before taking him.
I took Mr. Din for two online govt classes and he is simply excellent! He gave a very organized syllabus and class structure in both classes, and provides a lot of help thru email reminders and announcements. For the essays, use the tutors and e-mails for help. I def recommend for online courses!
I took Prof Din's online GOVT 2306 flex term class and he is a seemingly intimidating tough grader with clear and *high* expectations, but he is passionate about teaching, communicates well and posts grades timely. You will have to work to earn your grade but it is so doable - stay on top of your work and deadlines, and skip ahead if you can.
overall the experience was good. Be aware of deadlines. A term project is mandatory make sure you read all the guidelines as he won't provide you another chance. If you fail term project then you will receive an automatic F. Best wishes.
Mr. Din, makes all assignments clear in the syllabus. He also sends a lot of emails to update his students on due dates, extra credit and any essay requirements. Mr. Din wants everyone to succeed and he will help you if you need it. Simply do the work and you will pass. You have to read the book to pass the quizzes and exams.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, UNLESS YOU LIKE RUINING YOU'RE GPA!!!
He gives a ton of detail when it comes to what is expected for the assignments. He also sends out emails as reminders for assignments so you don't fall behind. He lays everything out really clearly for what he wants and he maps out lots of tools that help. I would definitely recommend. If you do the work you should do fine in the class.
He is horrible!! Pretends to care by sending a bunch of emails but doesn't. He actually wants students to fail.
Worst Prof. ever. Youll probably fail or make a c. Needs to quit teaching....
Grades respectfully, gave me a second chance on my midterm just because I turned it in early. E-Mails frequently for deadlines, only for your priority. Plenty extra credit opportunities, and very well educated for that matter. Definitely would take again!
I took the winter class and it was difficult due to my work schedule. The professor does a good job of giving many examples and in the course organization. Yet it is hard to keep up due to the short time frame. I think it should be 4 or 5 weeks more. I am glad he opened the class early and quickly answered all my questions, but it was hard.
Learning Community GOVT/HIST -- So, here's the deal: 1) Make note of what Din says - he gives you concepts he wants to see reflected in your work; 2) Show up on time, every time; 3) Read the chapters if you haven't by the time he tells you; 4) Participate; and, 5) Take advantage of the extra credit, research resources, & tutoring.
Prof. Din has a great online class, everything you need to get a great grade is provided. He sends many email reminders and other info on how to get the best grade. There are also tutors that can help with the 2 papers that make up most of the points. Quizzes are easy and you can use the textbook to find answers. Will be taking again.
I've taken both required govt courses with Mr. Din online and got an A in both classes. He gives all the information needed to get a perfect score in the syllabus and thru many reminders. The open book quizes are very easy. Also he gives a sample for an "A essay" and extra credit for funny videos. He was one of my favorite online professors!
this prof knows what he is talking about, He doesn't even needs a book to teach. he is tough grader and makes you work for your grade. He is the best for both Gvt classes. All the best
Great professor, one of the best ones Ive had ! He gives great feedback , lets you know what you did wrong to correct yourself in the future
Mr. Din was a nice, caring professor. I took this course for my Maymester. The course was easy, if you did your work. I ended up with an A. He also replies back to your emails within 5 minutes!!
Took this class online over summer. Lots of work, but it isn't too hard. If you meet the criteria you will get an A. Quizlet helps a lot.
Professor Din is a great and caring professor. You can really tell he is passionate about the material he is teaching. I took it as a Maymester and even though it goes by quick, he is consistently reminding us to keep up with our work which is really great. His class requires you to put in, but as long as you don't fall behind you'll do well.
I would suggest to anyone taking his course to be ready to follow instructions to the T, if not he will suggest for you to drop his course after a clear effort has been made, does not give second chances.
Failed me for an online summer class because two projects are the most heavily weighted and gave me a zero on the first one after I followed all his instructions. I dont care that I failed, Im going to take the class again with another teacher. He is NOT effective as a distance learning teacher. Maybe in traditional style class.
Awesome Professor. Great feedback. Gives extra credit. Do your work, do not procrastinate, and you will pass this course. Pretty easy as long as you read the material. Sends informative emails on a daily basis. Available to students if necessary. Grades are turned in, in a timely matter.
Prof. Din is very clear about his expectations in the syllabus and during orientation. Do not feel afraid to email him because he responds super quick and clears everything up. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT bc it only helps you more in the end. This was my first college course, and I couldn't be any more happy to have had him as my teacher.
Great class, easy A if you actually do the work and pay attention. Greatly recommend his class if you are a better essay writer than test taker! I recommend to work ahead if you're easily overwhelmed by writing papers. I took both of his online gov classes at the same time and was able to get an A on both by working ahead!
My advice, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IN THE SUMMER ONLINE. If you do, make sure this is the only class that you take. There are two heavy writing papers that are worth majority of your grade. Miss one or score low you are destined to fail. The grading criteria is very strick and lengthy. This felt like a tech writing class rather than TX government.
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER'S CLASS! warning you! He's a tough grader and won't even give you partial points for attempting to turn in a an essay. I've never had such a strict professor, usually, they try everything to help you pass but not this one. Wish I hadn't taken this class.
Do not attempt to take this class in the summer, this teacher is a TOUGH grader, and will not even grade your essays if they're not EXACTLY as he wants them. Mus be a wiz at writing. What a waste of time and money for students who actually attempt to turn stuff in, my English teacher wasn't even this tough. Would not take again.
Prof. Din's class was pretty easy but only if you're good at writing papers and can dedicate the time and energy to the class. He makes his requirements very clear, just follow the instructions. 2 Papers, 13 Chapters of Easy Activities and Quizzes (read textbook!), and 2 extra cred chances. His responses to questions were a bit vague though.
I enjoyed this class very much. It is extremely tough so you must prepare yourself in order to do this course. There are 2 papers, 13 chapters, and each chapter has 3 easy activities and 1 quiz. Prepare to do a lot of reading! I would highly suggest you start preparing for the essays earlier on. Finding articles according to his criteria is tough.
No second chances, whatsoever! Went from an A to not passing. I have to retake this class. Lectures are good, its just the final paper thats the challenge, if you fail that you fail the course.
His online class is very structured, just follow the directions and use the info he sends in email reminders. You will get about 1 email a day, with guidance and also feedback on assignments. Always replied to e-mails within the hour. It was an excellent summer course for me.
I had no problem getting a A in this class. Pick your own topics and follow the essay guidelines, it's very simple. If you fail this course you basically didn't try or didn't take the advice he gives from e-mails. The class and the professor were very organized. Thanks for a great summer class Mr. Din!
Hes not a good professor. Hell take a lot of points off of your assignment for things he wont tell you about. Dont take him, request someone else.
He has the worst online class policy ever! If you fail to submit an essay on time you are not passing. Dont even care for the students - just for his subject. Instead of helping and encouraging his students to move forward, although they might have stumbled somewhere along the course. NO MERCY! NO SECOND CHANCE! NO LATE WORK POLICY.
asked me to drop or use 50 points extra credit to make up for 200 points assignment
This class is extremely hard. His quizzes are 20 questions in 15 minutes. Not even a minute per question. His essays are extremely hard. If you fail one essay you basically fail the class. He gives you options for tutoring but if youre busy or working it wont work with you. He advises to drop the class frequently if you cant do the essays.
I took his express session and it was very easy. All the guidelines were clear, but he sent a lot of reminders anyway to make sure you got a good grade. Just follow the directions and try to get ahead. He also answers any questions right away. Extra credit was super easy and boosted my final grade. I will be taking his tx gov next.
I had a very good experience with Mr. Din. I saved my grade with his mulligan policy, was able to change my grade from F to A on the midterm paper. After meeting the tutor, I understood what was needed and the rest was easy. You have to read the textbook and really try on the papers. He gives a lot of helpful tips too.
My experience with Professor Din was great. I took the advanced "mini-mester". He was incredibly attentive to any emails I sent and general course information. This guy literally called me to help improve my essay I submitted early! I've never had a professor care that much about my success. I would 100% recommend anyone to take his course!
This professor is really good at keeping students up-to-date on anything due, and sending reminders about projects/papers with clear requirements. When writing papers for this class, it is very important that you follow the instructions about gathering the right sources for your paper. If you follow his instructions exactly, you'll have no issues.
the professor will work with you to help you succeed. prepare to read and understand every unit and review very carefully the course contents. Its not easy but also its not hard if you r doing the required assignments on time or before the due date so you can focus on 2 main parts of the semester ( Mid Term Essay and Term Project). good luck
One of my favorite professors at Brookhaven. He is a fair grader and available outside of class. He responds quickly to emails.
I took the class as a flex term online and while the class wasnt super hard it does require you to put in some work. There is a midterm and final paper due that count heavily on the final grade. He gives feedback on each paper. Dont procrastinate and you will be fine.
Din has taken the smallest amount of power which can be given to a professor and used it to waste students time and money. Take his class only if you have the money to repeat a basic requirement in order to feed this mans ego.
His 3 week winter class was organized and simple. Just take the quizzes and follow the models he gives for term paper A. He also answered e-mails within the hour and sent daily reminders with tips and resources. He obviously cares about his students and our grades. I highly recommend Prof. Din!!!
Very helpful, always reminds you when the deadlines are getting closer.
The professor maintains communication exceptionally well and the requirements were fairly easy to understand. Examples were provided for the term paper which was helpful.
Awful, she would give final grade of F for uncompleted one assignment which is only worth 100points. DO NOT EVER TAKE THIS CLASS
He made government a horrible experience!!!!!! Do not take his class
I just completed the express course and it was very easy! The quizzes are directly from the textbook chapters, the term project has two parts with examples to follow and he gives a lot of reminders on how to get an A. Make a study plan to stay current with the class and stick to it.
His lesson was clear but really heavy. He responds quickly but isnt fond of second chances or extensions despite the heavy work load or situations. Makes tutoring mandatory.
Took him for an online class. Units were easy, but required a paper. If you didn't do the proposal paper the way he wanted, he gave you a 0 and automatically failed you. Didn't allow you to redo the proposal, just flunked you. You're pretty much required to go to the tutoring center even though it's an online class.
Prof. Din has a fantastic online class! The chapter quizzes are easy and has very interesting videos. There are only 2 major tests and 1 essay that has 2 parts. He sends weekly reminders about deadlines and tips for the essay. I already signed up for his summer govt 2 class.
I just completed a second class with Mr. Din and it was excellent like the first one. I learned a lot about governmental issues and one policy issue of my choice. He gives many reminders to help and grades exactly as said in the syllabus guidelines. If you do not make a serious effort then you will fail. His class is not for poor students.
I was super happy with the expressed course because it allowed me to remain focused throughout the course. I loved that the online course allowed you to move at your pace (faster), and in my case I took all of the quizzes and unit exams at the very beginning of the course; this allowed me to focus on the term project. Create a study guide. Easy A.
Mr. Din is a great professor, I took the express course which is fast paced but he still manages to spread the assignments out evenly in order to give enough time. Hes very clear from the beginning on what needs to be done in order to pass the class, theres two essays but the term proposal is one of them & it prepares you for the term paper.
Paper grading criteria is weird. 100% will send scathing emails berating students. Does have a revise and resubmit policy, which can save your ass. But the two writing assignments pretty much make your grade. The homework throughout the semester can't save you if you screw up a paper. Does not like procrastinators.
The professor was very accessible during the semester. The chapter activities are easy to complete. The chapter quizzes are harder. Even if you read the textbook, make sure to write some notes, they will come handy during the quizzes because you don't have time to look for answers on the textbook or internet. Don't procrastinate.
I love the teachers online class. There is many clear directions for passing all quiz and essays. He maked it easier and simple to achieve a best grade. Thank you professor!
Great professor, just do the work and you will get an easy A. Get ready to read! do not procrastinate and be prepared to write a lengthy essay. He grades heavily on the essay and recommends visiting the tutoring center before submitting.
to anyone reading this DO NOT WORK with this professor, I got an F on the whole course just for forgetting to put a citation ( yes he is failing me for this), not recommended at all and very rude, save your grade and your money.
Test are online. She is a very strict grader on your term paper and shows no grace at all. I would avoid her if possible
Excellent online course and Mr. Din is a wonderful professor. Guidelines are very clear and his class is very organized. I love classes where everything is clear from start and I can get to work at my own pace. I finished the class 3 days early and he sent me a personal compliment. I absolutely recommend Mr. Din for online govt!
He's an AMAZING professor! I took this class during the maymester term . The class consist of a few quizzes, 2 exams and 2 important papers. The classwork is very easy, just read the syllabus! His class is very well organized and he gives amazing feedback on your work. He will do what he can to help you succeed in this course. I highly recommend!!
Save your sanity and take a different professor. Do one better and take this class at a different campus. Failed the entire class because he didn't think my PROPOSAL for my paper was in my own words even though it was and it passed the plagiarism check. He is rude and condescending. This class destroyed my 4.0 GPA
Excellent summer class! He provides everything you need to know for an A in the syllabus and emails. Very helpful if you have a question. The papers require effort and will be the majority of the grade, take them carefully. Quizes are easy, straight from the textbook. This was a great class with a helpful teacher.
Please save your money and time. Don't take his class.
I took him before for American Gov. and decided to take him again. I appreciate the professor providing frequent reminders and posting all of the assignments early. I was able to finish his class early and focus on my other online class. Prof. Din was very helpful as before. Be aware he grades "by the book". Take the directions seriously!!!
I took Texas GOVT 2306 during the summer with Professor Din. He sent out a lot of emails regarding the assignment and the deadlines. He really wanted his students to succeed. The class was few quiz, 2 unit tests and 2 papers. As long you follow his checklist for the term project and submit everything on time , its an easy A
YOU WILL FAIL. DONT TAKE HIM.
I took the summer course and it was very organized. He explains everything in detail and provides a lot of reminders. By far the best online course I have ever taken. Good job sir!
Do not recommend. Took him over the summer and made this class unnecessarily hard. The worst part was the term paper proposal. Followed all the rules and he gave me a 0, meaning I couldn't even pass despite getting 100s on all the other assignments. Feedback was terribly vague and wouldn't explain further. Horrible professor, take someone else
Absolutely over the top for such a basic credit class. Im not here to write a full fledge PHD paper. Extremely anal on proposal paper assignment. Expected me to go to tutoring on the weekend when tutors were not available to RESUBMIT my paper!
I just finished his fast track course and it was a great experience. He is very helpful if you ask a question and sends a lot of help in emails. Just know that he is serious about expectations, but they are made very clear and easy to accomplish if you plan ahead. Will take him again!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! HE WILL FAIL YOU!!! YOUR GPA WILL SUFFER!!!! Make ONE mistake on his proposal paper and he will give you a F!
Professor Din is accessible, which is the only positive thing about him. His extra credit is easy, and thank god because you absolutely will need it to pass his class. He is SUPER anal about the policy paper and make damn sure to use the tutors to make sure it is up to his standards format wise. He cares way too much about format. Take someone else
The quizes and tests are easy and you can use the book during them. The term project is most of the grade and he sends a lot of help in emails to make sure you pass. Just make sure you read his email reminders and stick to the schedule. The rest is very straight forward stuff and detailed in the syllabus. I refered back to it a lot and got an A.
Professor Din is easy to reach and easy to pass if you do the work. The paper has some tough expectations, but if you do more than the bare minimum, you will definitely pass.
I had a 95 in the class and then we had a proposal due I asked for feedback on what I was starting on he gave me little to no feedback. I turned in my proposal and later returned it to me say it didn't meet the minimum requirements and was missing some information. I asked him to clarify and he responded with the same answer.
This professor is terrible. I got nearly 100 on every assignment, but since my paper was 4.5 pages long (and not 5) I failed the whole class. He is the worst. DO NOT TAKE.
The website only allows three characteristics to choose, but if I would have been able to pick more, I would add: Prompt Response and Participation matters in the sense that you can research political jokes and videos and submit them for Extra Credit. My experience was great. Follow the detailed emails and syllabus and you too can get an A.
The course is graded by small (and very easy) assignments on InQuizitive that you can keep taking to get up to a 100 on, two unit exams (50 MC), and then an essay about a current foreign policy topic. Essay was hardest and most time consuming, but manageable and I do feel more informed. I took the winter course.
This is the worst professor Ive ever had. If your assignment doesnt fit his exact idea of what it should look or sound like, you will fail the class no matter the grade you currently have. Dont bother trying to ask him questions about it because you will only receive immature responses that do not sound like they are coming from an educator.
Does not teach. Will not give any feedback, constructive or otherwise. Will not tell you what you did wrong so you can avoid making the same mistake a second time. Does NOT teach!
I had the express class and it was a great fit for my schedule. The work as available early and everything was graded quickly. He gives clear instructions, sample essays and reminders before deadlines to keep in touch with the class regularly. I plan to take him for express 2 government to get another A.
Dont take this profesor ever! He will make you fail and doesnt care about your grade. All he cares about is instructions!!!
The test and quiz is both for open notes and can take again and again for 100%. Teacher give many reminders to help for good grades on paper project that was hard for me and tutor helped a lot for this class too. I like Professor Din a lot for online!
This class is divided into 2 units. Unit 1 & Unit 2. By Unit 1 (which is half way through the class you will know if you have passed or failed) You can pass all your quizzes and exam but if you don't do his paper EXACTLY how he wants it, Then its an "F" and there is no way to pass the class. I spent hours and weeks on this! Choose a different prof!
Dr. Din is one of my favorite teachers from last year and so I took his class again. Texas history is the same required quizes and paper like the other class. He will give a list of topics, a sample essay to copy and tips for best grades. He also sends many reminders about the homework and due dates - will accept no late work.
What an awesome professor! I took this class during the winter term. Assignments are 1 quizzes for each chapter, 2 exams and 1 term paper. If you read the syllabus, you will pass! The class is very well organized and he gives amazing feedback. Just do the work and he will help you learn. I highly recommend!!
Professor Din is one of my fav professors. His syllabus is very clear. You know what you do exactly. He also kept emailing to remind about the deadlines and tips. He is awesome. If you decide to work, you will pass. If you are lazy, don't expect anything. I learned so much from this class.
Professor Din was a very professional, proficient, and informative professor. He constantly sent out emails about assignments to keep the class updated. He is clear, concise, and to the point. I would definitely without a doubt, recommend him as a professor. He has a want to see everyone succeed attitude. Loved him as a professor.
Professor. Din makes it very clear what you have to do to succeed in this class, the syllabus explains everything regarding the midterm, and the final term paper. Professor. Din responds very quick to emails, and keeps true to his word regarding his responds times. You gotta commit to this class and follow the syllabus in order to get an A.
Professor Din is an amazing professor. He's extremely responsive to emails and directly answers any questions you'll have. The course has quizzes which keep you engaged, 2 major exams, and a term paper. I'm not a good writer but was able to earn an A in his class since I worked so diligently on quizzes and tests. Put in effort and you'll succeed
Hes a really nice man if you take his class and it really is an easy A but he has no mercy and will fail you even if you provide a reason why you miss an assignment .
10/10 would take this professor again. He really cares about his students.
Professor Din was excellent and responsive in the online class. You can tell that he cares and never delayed in answering questions. The condensed online class, does involve a tremendous amount of reading, but if you set a schedule and stick to it, it's nothing insurmountable. Would take again, ideally, in a lecture hall or classrooom.
Took his online Maymester course, there is no room procrastinate. Very clear on expectations in his syllabus, follow it exactly! He's very communicative and responds to emails very quickly. Tough grader & unforgiving about deadlines. However, he genuinely cares for your success in his course! Reading the Textbookmandatory. Offers extra credit.
I took Prof. Dins course during the May-mester and was a bit worried about the workload. Prof. Din lets it be known from the get-go how the course will go from the syllabus. It is very clear and concrete. As long as you go by the syllabus, you will pass this course. The mid-term and final are 50 questions each with 2 essay questions. Grade earned
Professor Din is very clear as far as grading and expectations as well as providing resources/study materials for his courses. He offers ample extra credit opportunities as well. Hes a very fair and thorough professor.
Professor Din was outstanding! I took his class as an online only class and for the first time in my life I had no questions after reading the syllabus. The tests are not easy and require studying. One of those classes where you get out what you put in. Professor Din does give extra credit and communicates very well with students.
I took this as a 8 week course. It was not easy, however it was not arduous either. Be prepared to read the course materials & carefully read everything that he has prepared. He is very detailed and meticulous with his assignment requests. You will need to read your text book, make notes, and study. I very much enjoyed the class, I learned a lot.
I took professor Hayaud-Din for GOVT 2305 & GOVT 2306 both online and really enjoyed his teaching style. Professor H provided many notes for us to learn the material and also provided inquizitive for us to learn the material as well. Graded fair. Learned a lot.
Extremely rude.
A freind told me to take his class and it was a great choice. He is helpful and the exams are right from the book. Any questions I had were answered right away. He also gives extra credit for making fun of politicians!
The class was mostly through InQuizitive. Very easy and quick to do all of the assignments. The exams are easy, but the essay questions are difficult because they're randomly generated and he will not give you specific feedback to improve your grade. Overall, if you put in the effort you'll get at least a B.
He is a really nice guy and all his instructions are extremely clear. Im guessing all these bad ratings are from people who didnt read the directions clearly or tried to turn in work late. Do the work correctly and on time and you will definitely get an A. He wants his students to succeed but he doesnt give handouts, you gotta do the work right.
Mr. Din was straightforward w/ his expectations. The syllabus clearly tells you what is required of you in class, & how to earn your grade. The exams for summer session consist of 50 multiple choice questions & one essay. An A can be earned as long as you know your syllabus, do your homework & study the material. He is just wanting you to succeed!
Also took him for GOV2305. Syllabus/ expectations were clear; grade was based on Inquizitive& 2 90 min (50 mul choice+1 5 para essay; 1 attempt each); offers two extra credit (1 being an end of course survey); offers great study aides (lecture ppt+chap videos); easy course, but requires work and time; good w/ emails; doesn't give feedback on exams
I had the honor of taking Prof. Din's class this mini-semester. While we missed out on the interactions and debates owing to the pandemic, Prof. Din is accessible at any time through email. GOVT-2305 was the most formative class I've taken at Brookhaven. The class is challenging, though: ensure you review the textbook well prior to the exams.
This class is ridiculous. The 2 test over the whole course makes up 70 percent of your grade and doing well on the test is nearly impossible. The test includes 50 random multiple choice along with a minimum of 250 word essay in 90 minutes. While this may seem doable, the professor wants a 5 paragraph essay that is thorough. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
Mr. Dins class was very well structured. His expectations were clear from day one, & emailed us with feedback & reminders, which was nice, as not all prof. send reminders. You have to read the chapters in order to pass. Those upset probably didnt prepare well enough. After extra credit I was able to obtain an A, you just have to put in the work.
Based on true experience. - Heavy grader yet, lacks explanation and description on assignments and does not like being asked. - He grades fast but heavily without proper explanation to it. - Have been told to consider to withdraw to avoid F, current grade was at low B So I dropped out because then I knew that my grade was already decided
He don't like his students to question him regarding to their grades and it is written in the SYLLABUS. I got a 0 out 100 for an assignment today and he said to 'relax' cuz I won't die lol. Can't believe this guy. Don't try to work things out with him cuz he won't. Just be quiet and do as he tells you to do. Yes MUCH DEMOCRACY
Mr. Dins course is not too difficult to pass. However, it is very hard to get a decent grad. I almost feel like I am taking English literacy class because that is the main grading criteria on his papers. I also think its inappropriate to tell his students to drop out even though they are not doing well.
I have multiple issues so far with this professor. My initial interaction was hostile. When I emailed asking if there were any assignments I had left to do in the beginning of the semester, he told me that he could not tell me and to drop the class and get my money back. Also, he went back on his syllabus 5 days before an assignment, which caught..
He's not lenient once-so-ever, he wont answer any questions you ask him regarding assignments or grades, he gives you attitude when emailed, he's disrespectful, and he will change deadlines a week in advance saying he sent out a reminder, like he doesn't only send one, once a month. This change ruined my planner schedule. Do not take his class.
Professor Din is honestly a horrible professor. Doesn't give good feedback nor does he keep up with his courses. Imagine teaching federal and texas government and still using the same assignments! He gets mad about syllabus questions but yet messes it up on assignments. Especially when emailing him he is the worst.
I had a good class with Dr. Din. He answers any question very quick and the quizes are easy. 1 film essay on a movie of your choice about pandemics plus extra credits. It was a very easy A, just don't fall behind like he tells you.
Mr. Din should honestly consider other job. He does not seem to be qualifying as an instructor. He tries to give the hardest times for his students and his class is very badly organized. seems irritated by the fact that the students asks question about his messy schedule and grading criteria and makes fun of us complaining about the grade.
He did no teaching, is a hard grader and literally everything has to be done his way no iffs and or butts. He even removed the textbook from ecampus like how do you manage that, theres like no link to click on to access it and we have assignments due this week. If I could give him a 0 I would
He really makes work for your grade. You HAVE to read the textbook. He does offer extra credit. Make sure to be really responsible for this class. Do not slack. Try to get ahead if you can because there is quite a lot of work to be done. Make sure to read the syllabus because it will answer most of your questions and the deadtimes.
The class was challenging, which made it that much more interesting. He's a tough grader, but because he lays out the instructions out very clearly. He is very accessible and the course was fun in general
Class consists of ch. quizzes, 2 discussions, and 1 paper. In the beginning of this course, I really did believe I was going to fail because I got 2 0s and it made me believe he was a tough grader. I simply put more time into this one than I did before and still managed to pass with a 96. Overall, he really did help seem to care for his students.
As others have noted, you have to put in the work. The communication provided by Prof. Din really encourages success. It is not an "easy A" type of class by any means, but he does give you the tools you need. It's up to you to do time management, but the rest is accessible. Great class- would definitely take recommend.
Prof Din was very clear on his syllabus what he wants and if you follow the rules you will pass with a easy A! He is a tough grader but will tell you what you need to fix! Very good communication with him and fast reply's. Make sure you learn the MLA 8th edition and you will be fine!!
This Professor does not care about his students. Would get half points off for citing one wrong source on a proposal. He does not like to be asked about assignments. Moreover he does not address course calendar properly. It was the worst experience ever in this college.
He doesn't care about his students and most of the essays I wrote were more than 5 pages and after all, he gave me 0 because he said there is no partial credit that means you get 0 or the full mark even if there is a small mistake such as a cover page he gives you 0. and this one assignment if you got 0, you will fail the class. No feedback is giv.
be SUPER cautious and follow everything he says TO THE LETTER. He adds on something that he wants in every cite, despite it being different from any version of citations ever learned. I emailed him about this, and he was incredibly cruel and after 3 emails, told me that the topic was "stale" and he was done talking. I got a zero for that essay.
Participation matters... miss a deadline and you won't pass
I was in the 8 week course so everything was condensed. My best advice is to be prepared to read and take sufficient notes. There are major writing assignments that he is very particular on but just follow the prompts and instructions to a T and you will have no issues. There will be extra credit opportunities as well to help cushion your grade.
This Professor is a real gem. He cares and emails constantly keeping students updated on what is expected, difficulties some of may have or even clarifying subject matter. Work hard and you will be respected for that work. He dislikes slackers and do not even consider asking him to change a grade for you. If you did not put the effort in - tough.
Excellent teacher, the material was easy to comprehend. Inquizative was a very helpful resource for studying.
I took his online government class. His guide was perfect. He kept reminding us all about guideline. It was so helpful to finish this class successfully .
Easy class, I made a 100. Consisted of orientation quiz, discussion intro about self and 14 chapter quizzes. Quiz answers were mostly on quizlet. I would love to take him for 2306m but class was full. I see why class was awesome. Also by doing the quizzes, it does help retain/learn the info.
At the beginning I was intimidated by the syllabus but the class was not complicated at all. I read one chapter per day, I did the quizes after each chapter and I was done with Unit 1 within a week or so (time management is import because quizzes are quite long but easy ). The writing assignments were a little bit hard for me but it was doable.
This professor is the absolute worst. Listen all his course work is, is inquisitives and 2 discussion board posts. The problem arises when he fails you for missing on part of the discussion board post. He does not offer extra credit. He gives little to no info. on what he expects from the discussion boards.
I finished this class a month early, everything was available and easy to use. Two discussions take time, but the topics were interesting. Dr. Din sends resources and guides to help. Also, lots of extra credit at the end. Already signed up for Texas gov next term. Great class!
This course was easy if you stay on top of the assignments and read all the instructions required for the discussion board assignmnets. Extra credit was also available during and at the end of the course. I would take another class under Prof. Din if I had to take another govenment class.
Nice but not easy to get a hold of. Very strict in grading. Grades more like an English class than a GOVT class. If you are good at writing and comprehension, this will be a piece of cake. If not, you will be.
Made an account just to warn about this prof. Easily the worst professor I've had, despite the reviews, his assignments have had contradictory guidelines, that he will a 0 then deletes the assignment so you can't see what you actually did wrong. Complains about everyone wasting time but doesn't post assignment instructions so one can actually plan.
This was a great class for my winter. No big exams, just two short papers and quizzes. The quizzes are unlimited for best scores to count. Very good teacher with reminders too.
This professor is a no-go. He is one of the worst professors that I have ever taken. He has 2 discussion Boards and 11 inquisitive quizzes but no matter how well you do the inquisitive you must be prepared for the worst for his discussion board. His discussion board is 400 points and he just gives a 0 if he isn't satisfied with it.
By far the worst professor and class you could take. Save yourself time before you even think about taking his class. He loves giving out zeros no matter how much time and effort you put in. At the rate he's going that's how many people he's about to have taking his class.
He lets everything open to do the work yourself. He gives all the tools inside the class too for the homeowrk. I got an A with a bit of sweating. Also answers email faster than any other teacher this year.
One of the worst classes I've taken, he won't hesitate to give you an automatic 0 over minor mistakes and won't reconsider your grade even if you've worked really hard on the assignments. He provides little to no resources for assignments and will automatically fail you.
This class has 14 chapter quizes and 3 extra credits. The quiz can be repeated for full credit for a A. The extra credits was not needed and was not fun. Extra credit should be easier!
Professor Din is the type of teacher that takes a lot of pride in their work. He is very punctual, so be ready to cross your T's and dot your I's. The course expectations are clearly (and thoroughly) stated in the syllabus. Extra credit is available and highly recommended, as you will likely lose some points on your written papers.
During my class with this prof he was going through alot of personal issues and had us only graded on inquiztive assignments. Even though he was hurt he graded extra credit assignments I really appreciated that he is a strong teacher. Best govt class ive ever taken.
Don't take him! Just don't. Worst professor in all of Dallas College.
He will hold you accountable, but will help you throughout the class.
Dr. Din's class is very organized and challenging. The topics are about making an opinion and voting, so he demands you back it up with good info and research. I had to take it over the summer to graduate in Dec, but more time would make the class more rewarding.
Unnecessarily harsh grader. Gives no credit for major assignments based on minor mistakes. If you take his class read the syllabus over and over. He fancies his instructions clearer than they are. The worst thing was his rude feedback, both personal and to the class as a whole. He seems not to care in the slightest whether his students succeed
I have never had an issue with any professor, but this one.He gave me a 0 because I mistyped 1 in-text cite.out of my 5 pg essay.I reached out to discuss it and he refused &said my grade was staying as is and to not reach out concerning my grades again as they aren't negotiable. He has a God-complex when it comes to his students.Don't waste your time
I wrote 3 pages of essay just turn in late half day. I wrote an email politely and nicely. He wouldn't give me any points! The way he talk is rude and disrespectful. The way he manage his class is totally a mess. Please don't waste your time and money on this guy.
This class is very organized. The quizes are all in the order of the book. There are lots of guidelines and explanations for everything homework. He will also answer my question right away over emails. I felt afraid but I had a good class with a professors help.
Def a college type class. Strict about student works, but gives help to pass u on his final paper. u can pass on quizes only too but not for final grade of A.
Best teacher to take for GOVT, I have taken both GOVT 1 and 2 from him. Need the credit, take it from him. He responds quickly. I finished the work way ahead of the due dates. Do the work you got an A. Easy explanation.
I took Professor Ahad's Political Science course online and was extremely impressed with his knowledge and teaching style. His lectures were engaging and he did a great job of breaking down complex topics in a way that was easy to understand.
I have taken several courses with Professor Ahad and he is hands down one of the best professors I have ever had. He is incredibly knowledgeable about government and politics and his lectures are always interesting and thought-provoking.
Professor Ahad is an outstanding professor and an excellent communicator. His online classes were organized and well-structured, making it easy to follow along and keep up with the coursework. He was always available to help and provided detailed feedback on assignments.
I had the pleasure of taking Professor Ahad's American Government course online and it was one of the best classes I have ever taken. He is an engaging and dynamic instructor who truly cares about his students' success. Even though we were in an online class, he made sure to create a sense of community and fostered great class discussions.
This teacher is very friendly and helpful, he always reminds students to do homework. Additionally, his feedback is very well detail as well as with suitable assignments for students.
everything was well prepared.
Amazing teacher who replies to emails so quick! He is so kind and helpful and gives such helpful feedbacks. His assignments are self explanatory and easy to complete if you can watch videos and take notes independently! He offered easy extra credit assignments too which was so nice of him! I would highly recommend his class!
Course was easy, didn't feel stressed pretty easy, course flow, short semester so there wasn't a lot of work, textbook was available to use for assignments and answers could all be found there.
This professor was very encouraging from the inception of the course even though the syllabus looked daunting. He also graded fairly and posted extra credit as a means of improving grades.
He seems to have a dry sense of humor which made his emails easy to digest. Most of the course is working in McGraw-Hill which takes forever but it's gotta get done.
This online course was great. All material was covered in a efficient yet insightful way. Mostly just chapter quizzes and a two part project. Simple 8 week gov class.
Super easy course, as long as you read your chapters and take all of the quizzes, assignments and smart books. You will pass. All of the material was done through Connect.
This online class had its ups and downs. The content was covered well, but the grading was harsh. Staying on top of the work and using tools like unstuckstudy AI really helped. Overall, a decent class if you manage expectations.
This class was easy as long as you stay on top of the units and complete all the assignments. The material is straightforward, and the workload is manageable. It's a very easy-going class, so just put in the effort to stay consistent, and you'll do great.
He gives a good amount of assignments but it's nothing crazy and they're easy as long as you do them with time.
This class was challenging but incredibly rewarding. Professor Hayaud-Din's class was organized and straightforward. He was courteous, responsive, and always willing to answer questions. Don't be intimidated by the syllabus; extra credit and clear guidance from the professor help you succeed. Stay engaged, and manage your time well. Recommend!
Professor Din is knowledgeable and delivers clear, engaging lectures. However, the policy on missed assignments could be more flexible. Allowing make-ups for unavoidable situations would support students facing challenges. Overall, I appreciate their effort and dedication to teaching.
I will recommend Prof. Din to any students taking GOVT class. The course is well structured and easy to follow as long as you give yourself plenty of time for the assignments. The syllabus itself explain clearly the expectations.
Professor Hayaud-Din's class was great. This class was very straight forward, and I loved that although the professor had many assignments to complete, he provided ample time to do the work. I did not feel rushed with the class. Take notes and read the material! Do not procrastinate. Also, there is an extra credit opportunity!
super straight forward class. groups of assignments will be due by a certain date rather than each individual assignment being assigned a specific due date which is VERY helpful for students with jobs and a life outside of class. very "at your own pace" class. flexible, low-stress, easy A. no major exams or final, just assignments & a short paper.
the worst. dont do it to yourself
The class is well structured and easy to follow. Having all assignments posted at the beginning allows you to work ahead, and staying on track makes the course very manageable.
is not flexible at all when it comes to assignments, will give 0 instead of partial credit
