Let me put it this way: He knows his stuff. He's a good teacher and an intelligent guy, but honestly... He doesn't care about the students.
For 225 he was pretty good, seemingly he can't teach 215 though. Boring at times but pretty thorough. Just go over the examples.
This is the worst teacher I have ever had. It was the worst experience with a teacher that I have in my 16 years of being in school. Take him if you are a self-proclaimed genius and have a PhD in Productions Management, otherwise, get a real teacher.
During the finals, he told the class that he would not have office hours and that he would not return phone calls...only emails. Why the low mark? You be the judge.
I took him about 3 years ago and boy was I pissed off whe I saw my final mark. His lectures are ok, but his final was brutal. I think he forgot that it was an introductory course to stats. Anyways he can be a very harsh grader.
Don't take this guy's class. You will lose your confident. A crazy man! His exam looks like he treat all of us are statistic doctor.
He doesn't explain anything. He reads from slides. His exams are very tough, He is a very hard marker and is not available at all. Try other teacher. This one is not worth it.
He is a good teacher. About half of the class get at least A-. If you choose his class, you will feel the final exam is easy.
This class is a bit boring but it is stats-how exciting can it be? He is very well structured and if you do all the problems then you will be ok.

Waaaa! He's so boring and monotone! It's like listening to a humming lampost! Seriously, he may be a smart but not made to teach. Hard exams, poor explanations and loses the class within the first 5 mins of his lectures...

Good teacher, kept the summer class to the basics. Could have prepared us better for the final. Like explain the p-value a bit more in depth.

He's a terrible prof. He may know the material, but he has no interest or skill in teaching. He avoids questions, mumbles to himself, and is really nasty when approached.
In my mind, this teacher is very good.He gave you easy lectures in class, and give you hard assignments. After you understand his assignment, you can get great mark in the exams. And his lecture is important too, don't miss even one class.
Teaching style sucks. First half of semester is not even in the textbook (you must rely on his poorly given notes). All POM teachers are said to be bad but I think Shafaat takes the cake.
Tough course...but fair marker. Study your ass off if you want an A.

This teacher is a good teacher. He gives good notes and explains things clearly. He's there in his office when you need him for any questions.
WHOOOOOLY CRAAAAAAAAPP.... Lets see... he cant explain for SH!T, he always conentrates on teaching definitions, more than the Maths itself... spends da whole lesson explaining 1 SMALL Question... He makes atleast 2-3 mistakes a class... boooooreeeinnng as hell

Hey this prof. is very good one. He gives very good examples and his exames are extremely easy. My advice is taking your math courses with him
He's absolutely the WORST math teacher I have ever had. Can't explain concepts for the life of him. His tests are disgustingly hard and his assignments too.
He isnt that good in explaining the material assigned,yet he is very helpful in his office, do not recommend for tough math courses, always keep him as ur last choice....
this class was easy as long as u do the recommended problems and assignements... u'll do fine on the exams ...exams are pretty easy...he is very helpful and nice 2 ..take him.
This guy is the worst math teacher in history, dont even take the classes unless you have already learned everything becuase with him you wil learn nothing, you cnat understand whne he speaks and he's just as bad in person so dont bother asking for help

Prof. shafaat is a very helpful and nice person yet he has some problems with explaining some stuff. His tests are extremely easy and simple specially his final exam. If you want an A then here is your chance.
The grades are suppose to be confidencial and not to be reviwed by the whole class. This prof. doesn't take into consideration that students simply don't want their grades to be exposed to everyone. He did post grades in the website. The midterm exam was not given back in the hands of the student, but it was dropped in one pile, so students can see

He does not make things very clear but if you do the assignements, which are very long, you will have no problem passing this class with a good grade. He randomly picks up 5 questions from the assignments to mark from about 15 questions. Easy marker. I got an A+.

VERY MONOTONE TEACHERS. ASSIGMENTS ARE VERY LONG AND ONLY PICKS 5 RANDOMLY. PROBLEMS AND NOTES CLEAR. NOT SO APPROCHABLE BUT BUG HIM ALOT AND YOU SHOULD BE OK. IF YOU NEED FURTHER HELP GO TO SOS TUTORING, THEY HELP A WHOLE LOT.
best teacher ever in Concordia. he makes things so clear and teaches so well that u can't wait for saying that This teacher is amazing.he does all the problems in class and explains if any difficulty. i enojoyed his class because i knew wt he was teaching. Honest Teacher ever.

Excellent teacher. Explains very well. He actually teaches. His assignments may be long, but worth the effort since they are relevant for the exams.
Has a monotone voice but that leads to added clarity that a lot of these middle eastern profs that try to talk too fast lack. His assignments are harder than the mid-term and final so if you can get a good mark on the assignments, it is likely you will do well on the tests. He never returns the assignments though, so feedback is very low.
Guys, Give this guy a break. The class is not exciting by nature, it is a math class. The guy does his job properly and he helps when asked. Not exciting, not a comedian, but he is a good teacher.
This teacher is very helpful. He is not the greatest but he pin points the important stuff and explains it well. He gives his own summary and problems. Does most of problems in class. Slackers will NOT like him.
Wouldn't suggest this teacher. Seems like a smart guy but has difficulty explaining stuff. Classes seem like a waste of time, can learn more from the textbook. Said the final exam was ****ulative but turned out to just be on the last 2 chapters!!!
if you are an "A" student, this is the teacher for you. lecture notes are perfect and clear. be prepared to work though. the good news is, you'll most likely do better on the final than on the assignments.
Be prepared to work your butt off. If you are one of those people who likes to slack off then DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF. Also, if you are taking 5 classes be careful because the assignments will take upwards of 20 hours each (no joke). Those who take this class must sacrifice any spare time they have but if you do that a good mark is possible.

If you have difficulties with math, have English as a 3rd language, and work almost full time plus carry four other classes... not recommended to take him. The class is hard to understand because of his accent, and his assignments are too long (20 Q) compared to other classes (5 Qs). He teaches you things that r not on the exams.
Stats is a really easy course. Attend class and you'll get a good grade for sure. The assignments though are really really long. As said previously, they took me up to 15 hours each (and they only count for 3-4%. The saddest is that he only corrects 5 out of the 20 assigned problems which is ridiculous considering the time we put into them.
He really prepares you well for the midterm and final by giving really long assignments (they took me sometimes 20+ hours to do), but you'll thank him later because of all the practice they provide for you. You really do need to attend class because the book doesn't cover what he does.
Compared to what is said about the rest of the comm 215 teachers Shafaat will prepare you for the midterm and final the best. Gives you lots of practice problems and is helpful if you go see him. The class is easy if you attend the lectures and do the assignments.
Teaches Comm 215 with powerpoints. I've always had 90s in all math classes i've taken and failed this class. Huge assignments. Classes are super boring. Avoid!
He might not be the most enthusiastic teacher, but he prepares you ridiculously well for the final and the midterm. Just do the assignments and understand them and you'll end up with a good grade. He reads a lot from the slides though. The textbook is also pretty useless, he gives you powerpoints to read anyway.

I rarely complain about Profs... The textbook is useless. His explanations are far more complicated than they should be. Directives for assignments are unclear and he doesn't provide clarifications. Average number of pages for an assignment: 15! If you take this Prof, go to tutorials and plan to attend SOS! Bottom line: AVOID!
This teacher is the worst teacher ever. Bad explanation, his teaching doesn't help at all for the final. If you wanna take him for the purpose of fitting schedule or whatever, i wish u bad luck because you won't have any luck with him anyway!
His assignments are crazy and long. His explaination is confusing and misleading. Do NOT do his problems, they are there to confuse you rather than help you. He gives no feedbacks for exams nor email requests unless you post it on first class, then he has no choice. He is one of the worst teachers you should avoid.

He speaks incredibly slow. He adds no real value to his lectures since he really only reads the slides already provided to his students. His assignments are OK. The class overall isn't too tough.

He speaks extremely slowly and makes POM even more boring than it already is. Just go to SOS tutoring, Marco can explain things more clearly in just a few hours than Shaafat could during an entire semester. If possible, take this class during the summer, if you want to avoid his extremely long assignments. Theres only a midterm and final.
if you are a slow learner, take him as he explains everything in slow manner. which i found it to be advantagous for me as i could understand and take notes at the same time. in other comm courses like 308, you only have time to listen and you are on your own. my advise take him but dont forget to go to the sos. midterm is easy but final was killer
His classes are very slow paced. Good if you need more time to digest the material. Midterm is ridiculously easy, but the Final made 52/120 fail. The tutor was very good! I recommend this prof to people that prefer slow paced classes (takes a LOT of time to explain everything). However this teacher is difficult out of class. Rarely replies to email
His powerpoints is perfect, he speak slowly but clear.Very good prof. This course is not difficule, so just do the multiple choice in every chapter and you will be ok.
Not bad teacher... Work hard enough and you can easily get an A+ in this course
This is a useless teacher that makes mistakes while teaching and refuses to correct the mistakes in the textbook answers and his slides. He is extremely monotone and has an accent that is difficult to understand. STAY AWAY!
Gosh... I wish I could go back in time and take a better prof for this class. I used to love stats, not anymore. Do yourself a big favour take a decent prof if possible.

If you can manage to stay awake in class then just read from the textbook, in which case you're better off staying home..difficult to understand and like I said, provides little to no benefit in attending class. You can get a good grade but avoid if possible!
