Test are very difficult. He makes you remember all the terms, formula, tables from slide and textbook, and definitions for midterms and final. Expect to be reading and memorizing everything he teaches on the slides. Very strict grader on assignments and attendance is mandatory if not you lose points.
Its super important to show up on time and be there, on lectures he points out what will be on the midterms and final. He's strict and demands respect - i think he deserves it too. He wants to help us get an easy A, but hates negligence and purposeful avoidance of his help. Has a few simple rules, you get an A for following them with a good attitd.
Attend each class on time to (1) get points, (2) find out what might be on the test. Yes, he makes you remember definitions, but it's doable. If you know all the material covered in class, tests are easystraight forward. Very fair truefalse questions. Grades according to outline, so follow his directions closely, especially for paper formatting.
I received a B, but really it should've been an A. I was taking 2 other classes and didn't have much time to study for his class. He does curve and gives you chances to recover if you completely bomb a quiz, but you have to show effort. His lectures aren't always clear, but he's always approachable. I plan to take him for another class.
Its unfortunate that only this professor teaches this class. Lectures are clear but he adds things outside the class subject. Expects you to memorize everything from his 70+ slides. Very demanding and tests are very difficult.
-professor makes it very difficult to learn. -forgets a lot of stuff he promises for test. -unorganized with his materials / not prepared to facilitate learning. -expects you to be ready for any question from any slide, any page from any book and anything he mentions, which is way to much information to keep track of. Bad at making tests
He takes points off when you're absent, and for cell phone use. Absolutely no phones in class (10 points off if he sees one). Expect to memorize a LOT of stuff (well duh it's anatomy). EVERYTHING on his slides is fair game for his exams. It's an easy class if you study/memorize a lot. It's really ALL about memorizing. Challenging class but worth it
Really cool teacher. Can make the entire lecture hall laugh... If you're not prepared to memorize every single term you learn during a lecture, watch out. Everything shown in the lecture will be on the test. Lecture presentations are posted on moodle.
One of the hardest class I've ever taken here at CSULA. However, I managed with a good grade after all the studying and following professor Badr's instructions. ALWAYS COME TO CLASS IF YOU WANT TO PASS. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS AND REVIEW HIS POWERPOINT LECTURES EVERY SINGLE DAY/NIGHT. there is a lot of memorization!! Be prepared!
This is not a class for incoming freshman(well for me anyways). NOTHING LIKE HIGHSCHOOL. His lectures are straight forward and his slides are crucial for studying and his tests. You HAVE to study outside of his class! A positive is that he gives A LOT of extra credit because he really wants you to pass the class. He's a nice guy but hard class.
I took this class during fall semester of my freshie year, and it def gave me a rough start to college, esp bc i was trying to adjust to everything else. He is not a very good lecturer, bc he just reads off the slides. His questions can be worded weirdly on the tests/hw. YOU NEED TO STUDY TO PASS. Homework will def boost your grade. work v hard!
He's a cool guy but he's hard. His wording on tests is confusing and he'll test you on something he mentioned once out loud during class (normal cholesterol level is one example). Memorize everything on his slides/what he says. Lots of online hw open over the weekend. No study guides - some anatomy profs do give so take someone else if possible.
This is easily the hardest and most time consuming class I have ever taken. If you do not read and frequently go over the slides, YOU WILL NOT PASS. He offers extra credit which is good cause trust me every point in this class counts. He wants you to pass. All you have to do is study, study, and study and this class will be doable.
Probably one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. He is very straight forward and easy to talk to. He gives multiple chances to earn extra credit. A clicker is used during lecture (not always) and in the end those points do add up so skipping class is not an option unless you want to fail. STUDY THE SLIDES!
Very hard to get an A in his class, even if you studied really hard. He cares about his students, but in the end, your grade is on you & EVERY POINT COUNTS, in Lecture AND Lab. Only form of study guide from him is to "Study the slides". Make sure to literally MEMORIZE them since test q's sometimes ask small details you might forget.
Half of the things he talked about did not make sense to me. You have to be there in class or points will be taken off. I felt he just read off the slides and didn't really teach. THE ONLY GOOD PART WAS THE EXTRA CREDIT. if you have this class, sucks to suck
Badr was a good professor overall. The material for the class is difficult in general, but if you put in the time for the class you can get a good grade. The exams are LEGIT from his powerpoint slides just study them and you should be fine.
Its difficult to understand what he is saying he has a heavy accent. Copy power point slides before class because you wont understand anything hes saying. He reads off the slides and gives no time to write. Tough grader for presentation. Midterm is difficult. Avoid this class. Midterm 125 Presentation 125 Final 125 Attendance 25
Reads off the ppt slides. No study guides. Exams VERY hard. He just tells you to memorize the slides which are essentially impossible as there are roughly 300 slides to review every exam. Attendance is mandatory in the sense that they count toward points and EVERY point matters! STUDY STUDY STUDY and just maybe you'll pass
Great Professor! Attendance is mandatory. If you skip class, you wont pass!! Attend class to gain points. Exams straight from his slides. Put the time for the project and you will earn full credit.
He teaches in Bio and Kin departments. I took him for two classes. For sure he knows his stuff and can explain things in different ways. Attendance is not required for this course, but you should attend if you want to pass with a good grade. His slides are super important and most of his exam comes from his slides. Absolutely, no cell phone
Professor Ahmed was strict but, he was a great guy. He wants all his students to pass. You have to work for your grade. Complete all the homework and do well on test and you shall pass.
No laptops or any elect. during lec. or else you get deducted points PER incident. Class is very straight forward. Read the 200+ pp slides he posts if you want to get good grades on the tests. Always be on top of the Connect HW & Quizzes. 100% score HW + quizzes + attendance + at least C on all tests good grade. Suggest making study groups.
One of the hardest courses for me by far. He's a very strict professor and does not play around. Most of his points revolve on iclicker ( for attend.), extra credit, quizzes and homework. Since it require lab to make sure you try your best in the lab, I failed most of the tests for lec and still managed to pass (thank goodness). STUDY, STUDY!!!
He has a strict no-phone policy, but I think it's a good thing for those who are there to learn and not get distracted by another persons phone screen. He is a very straight forward person but fair. Make sure to study his notes and pay attention to what he says that's going to be on the exams. He is also an understanding person.
Ahmed is extremely rude to students when they ask questions and cuts them off when they do. Is not specific enough and very unclear and vague when giving directions and grades hard despite not telling students what he wants
Tough course. You wouldnt pass if you skip class, but that is A&P for you. He is easy to talk to and gave multiple chances to pass the course. He wants to pass everyone but you have to study.
Anatomy&Physio is already hard enough, but imagine taking it during a pandemic. He just reads off the powerpoint slides and tells you what is important for the midterms. Textbook needed cuz it's linked to connect and HW+quizzes. 1 research paper to do. He doesn't really answer any questions or emails cuz it's ALL on the syllabus.
Professor Ahmed has made my first zoom/ online experience terrible. He was very disorganized, inaccessible outside of class, did not communicate with the class regarding important things (like exam duration or grading criteria), and made it very difficult to be successful in his class. He refused to provide us a study guide for the final exam.
Had to end up teaching myself because I couldnt stand his lectures. He is very sarcastic and makes you feel dumb when you ask a question. A lot of the times he doesnt even answer your question and will say did you check the syllabus? Yes I checked Ahmed, the ANSWER WASNT IN THERE. Also, god forbid you email him. So glad this semester is over!
Human A&P is a tough subject as is and students had ?'s but he would rudely reply with did you check the syllabus. Answers weren't always on there, but that is his way of not wanting to answer questions which makes students feel dumb. We had homework and 4 exams in total with a research paper. My advice is get a good lab professor.
Although he may be rude or sarcastic at times, at the end of the day you just pass from the notes he gives. There's nothing more to it. Study the notes as the info is on the exam. There is hw to lift your grade along with quizzes, and a report. I wish he made it more exciting, he just reads off slides.
Mostly just reads off slides which isn't the most fun for an 8 AM class. The class consists of homework, quizzes, 4 exams, and a research paper. Study the slides because the exams are based on the slides. Constantly says "check the syllabus" when you ask a question. He was also my lab professor and he wasn't so bad.
Restrict professor but fair. You will not pass if you skip lecture!! Study his slides and you will do well
Professor A. does not answer emails and teaches from a powerpoint. He is overall decent. The subject is difficult itself, so be prepared to study and work hard for a good grade. TEST heavy. MUST study for EXAMS! 4 lecture & 4 lab exams, 4 quizzes, 1 report, and lots of hw.
A lot of assignments. I feel like all of these were doable though. The prof isn't all too bad either. At first he was but when students made small conversations during Zoom and he started to become more pleasant and actually started answering questions near the middle to the end of the semester. Just work hard and you'll pass, notes are important.
he knows his stuff but he is a HORRIBLE PROFESSOR. He literally marks you wrong for every little thing possible. Mind you he does not give you enough time to take exams, he does not tell you what is going to be on the exams so you mine as well study EVERYTHING. I have had him for multiple classes and I always get my lowest grade with him.
Lectures are sentences pulled from the textbook. Barely follows his own slides. He likes to mention things he believes are important that are not on the slides and will test you on those topics. Makes the course harder than it has to be because "advanced" is in the title. Only curved the class when we reported him to the department chair.
Honestly if you wanna pass the class you realllllyyy have to study. Hes a good professor that knows his stuff, and hes also so strict that when a technical difficulty came up for a quiz, I couldnt do anything to salvage that 0 grade. I did end up passing with a B, but you really have to be careful in this class. Otherwise, its fine.
this professor seems mean but is actually nice. Very strict when it comes to grading but u can tell he really knows what hes talking about. He teachers super fast so beware, some of the exams arent on the slides but he will tell you verbally what you need to know & u need to write it down (important!) Tells stories & makes class amusing. Recommend
This professor is very nice. He is a hard grader though, so you need to put extra work into your assignments.
I had him for both lab and lecture. His labs were not hard at all. If you took anatomy, the labs are similar and easy. His lecture, on the other hand, is very heavy. You really need to study for his tests and make sure you write down what he says will be on the test!! He comes off as intimidating, but he's a nice guy.
He has a very heavy accent. I was not a fan of his attitude when lecturing.
He will out right tell you he's giving you outdated/incorrect information to prevent cheating. He reads off of slides. When you ask him a question he tells you to shut up or not even answer your question at all. Study the slides and pay attention to what he says is important that ISN'T on the slide
For sure he knows his stuff. He explains things well and does not read from his slides. He pauses every few minutes to answer questions. Attend the office to review your exams/quizzes. Attending is not mandatory, but attend if you want a good grade. Write things down because it will show up on the test. I recommend him for classes.
Badr is ok, I recommend you sit as close as possible because it's difficult to understand him. Attendance is not mandatory but if you want a good grade you HAVE to attend, in lectures he will give you the exact answers he wants from you. Be ready to study.
Professor was a little unorganized. He could be a little more understanding and it's a little hard to hear when he speaks. Try your best to take notes when he speaks and be prepared to ask questions. Attendance is mandatory so make sure to go.
Badr is knowledgeable about physio, but I strongly believe that his true calling lies elsewhere. He has a clear passion for physiology when he teaches, but this can make the class challenging as small mistakes result in lost points. He's nicer during office hours, but I can see why he might be intimidating outside of that context. Try to avoid him.
Physiology is complex, but he gives you the bottom line. Attendance and taking notes are important to get a good grade. Recommend!
There are four exams and four quizzes. The averages on the exams are between 82% and 84%. Attendance is important to get a good grade. Extra credit if you answer questions during the lecture.
Attendance is important. Follow the powerpoint instructions and you will get a good grade. The rest is easy!
I had him for the Kin 3600 lab. He explains physiology really well!! Super easy lab and easy grade if you attend and follow instructions. Recommend.
I had professor Badr for Bio 2020 lecture & lab. All Bio 2020 lectures & labs are heavy regardless of who teaching it. Be sure to pay attention to his syllabus & due dates. Easy HWs & lab assessments!!
Such a nice guy, if you go to the lectures and take notes / study youll be fine. No hw for my section, just 4 exams and 4 quizzes. Go to office hours too he is so willing to help. very intelligent in anatomy / physiology!!!
Professor Badr can be kind. However, he holds a complete bias towards Connect by McGraw-Hill + Proctorio. If there are any issues by Proctorio or Connect, he will say it's an issue on your end- not on the software's end. Any issues with the WiFi connection, even if it is out of your control (e.g. power outage), will give an automatic ZERO on exam.
Horrible professor. Can't understand what he is saying and gives no opportunity for practice just exams and quizzes. He is so extra about Connect and will flag you for the stupidest things. He just reads off the slides. He takes WEEKS to grade exams so you don't know how you're doing until 1/2 through the semester. Save stress & take someone else.
I never wore my seatbelt while driving to school because i wanted to die before making it to his class.
If you have him, good luck...All i gotta say.
Don't attend lectures? You won't pass. He wants to make the class "fun" by adding clinical scenarios that will come up on the exam. It seems like they come up more on the exam than the actual stuff on the slides. He just reads off slides. 2 homework assignments, three midterms, 1 final. Grade is dependent on these exams. Good luck if you have him.
Extremely rude at times during office hours. He will flag you for just about anything on online exams, for simple things such as moving too much on the camera and being "unfocused." Situation got so bad he got reported to the dean for being unfair. Has a snarky and mean attitude if you get flagged and try to explain your situation.Terrible lecturer
run. run. run. run.
Attendance not mandatory, but if you don't show up you likely won't pass. Even if you do show up you still likely won't pass. He's rude and even once failed a pregnant woman and was proud of doing so. Save yourself time and sanity and take this class with someone else.
Absolute worst professor ever. Never take his class I had to drop last minute because I would show up to lecture and study 3 hours a day just to get a 60% on the exams . AVOID AT ALL COSTS SAVE YOURSELF PLEASE
Very difficult teacher. All tests and quizzes are online, but the grading is super harsh—points are taken off for even the smallest mistakes. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you want a good grade, you need to go to class. DO NOT take this professor if you're planning to apply to the nursing program.
If you're pre-nursing and do not take this class with him by all means. TAKE IT WITH SOMEONE ELSE PLEASE I'M TRYING TO SAVE YOU FROM LOSING YOUR SPOT AT PACSON. HE WILL TEST YOU ON THE SMALLEST THINGS POSSIBLE. SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR DREAMS!!!!!!!! WE HAVE 3 CLASS SESSIONS LEFT AND 3 MORE ORGAN SYSTEMS TO LEARN ABT BEFORE THE FINAL. HES TERRIBLE!!!
He doesn't care about his students. He accused me of cheating with 0 proof, gave me a 0, and threatened to report me. I stood up for myself and said it was Proctorio's fault, but he stayed stubborn. Days later, he reversed the zero and blamed it on something totally different. Others went through the same thing. He loves 2 overcomplicate the class
as a bio major with a 4.0 GPA, no class/prof has tested my emotional or mental endurance like this one. human physio should deepen our understanding of the body not leave us anxious defeated & doubting ourselves. His office hours are useless I asked a followup Q & he just said, “It's on the slides." For the sake of your sanity and GPA, avoid him.
Y'all know that one scene from Mean Girls where Regina George is writing in the burn book? Yeah, that's what I could say about this course and about the professor. And if you don't know the scene, look it up and have a laugh bc I haven't laughed since I started this course.
bro is making me crash out like justin bieber level. bros an actual opp. i'm glad to know he's not teaching this course next semester after looking at the course on GET.
He claims to want to help out the pre-nursing and PA students all the time, especially during the beginning of the lecture by saying "I'm on your side, guys," but then goes around telling students after taking his quiz, "That quiz was easy, right? Well, it won't happen again." He probably gets off by making students fail. Don't take him.
WHOEVER SAID KAWII CROCS IS NOT REAL. ERM ACKTAULLY IT WAS HORRIBLE.
If you don't have a religion before taking this class, pick any and start praying like there's no tomorrow :)
HE BLAMES EVERYTHING ON THE STUDENTS. CONNECTION ISSUES, YOUR FAULT. CAN'T LOG INTO QUIZZES AND TESTS, "TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOURSELVES YOU'RE ADULTS." ASSUMES YOU'RE ALL NURSING STUDENTS, EXPECTS YOU TO KNOW MEDICAL SCHOOL LEVEL QUESTIONS. HAS AN ATTITUDE WORSE THEN A SPOILED 2 YEAR OLD CHILD.
Ahmed is the least empathetic and caring professor in the university. Do not take his class.
For all my pre-nursing majors do not take him. He has some old personal drama that he has to fix and he takes it out on his students. He expects that everyone will get the knowledge right away and he is not kind to other peoples problems. He will say you are guilty even when your innocent and will do anything he has to do in order for you to fail
I would never recommend this teacher for any of his classes. He disguises his personal under kindness but in actuality he makes every student life hell. The vast majority of people drop his class or fails. He believes that every student is cheating and when we raise these problems to the dean he gets very mad and berates students during lecture
In all of my four years at this school, I have never taken a class where a professor hates his students. He's basically if you mix an edgy teenager who thinks the world is out to get him and add a spoiled kid. I don't know why he teaches biology when he has a masters in another field and but he's here to stay because tenure. Glad I'm graduating
I took this class because I thought it would be interesting before I graduated, but I dropped this class because this was the worst class and professor I ever had. Why he became a teacher when he hates teaching and students, I will never know. But if you are reading this do everything in your power to get another teacher, don't need to thank me
I'm one of the few kids in the class who has an 'A' in this class. Badr hates seeing students succeed that why most of the students fail or drop the class. If you can take any other teacher I very much recommend it. He is a teacher on a power trip and never wants to take accountability for it and always pushes any problems on us
Reads off of slides most times (just read the textbook, it's better to understand) VERY specific questions on exams. Does give extra credit to be earned on tests. Physiology is already dry, but he does nothing to engage the class. Will answer questions, unless answered before during class. Is willing to give back some points if the exam was wrong.
The professor always reads from the slides, and whenever he doesn't have an answer to something or can't explain anything, he says, "It's not my area". No clue why he is a physio professor if his only area is the heart. If you go to his office hours and talk about the test, he will question why you got it wrong and make you feel guilty.
To add on, I literally had to fact-check him after the lecture because he said something wrong. I feel like the one thing he is good at is Connect because he loves to brag and talk about it so much. Sometimes this class makes me want to just work at Mc Donalds, heck I would love to be just a snail grooving around.
Karma will get him, and so will the etsy witches. He should've stayed in the cardiac cath lab.
Just read the reviews, he's one of the worst teachers on rmp on csula. Just trust
Glad I'm not taking this class for credits, never meet a teacher who hates students like this guy does
For anyone who takes this class because its necessary for your major try to find any other teach or way to do it because its not worth it
PLEASE HIS RATING IS INFLATED AND NOT REPRESENTED OF HOW BAD HE IS. HE IS WORSE THAN THE RATING, ALL OF THE 5 STARS CAME FROM COVID AND HE'S TERRIBLE. LEAVE WHILE YOU CAN
please, just no, please
avoid him at all costs, if u want an A u have to dedicate every single hour of the day studying for this class
He is the gatekeeper of successes, beware
as a 4.0 gpa student, never have i experienced a professor who belittles and disrespects students as much as him. lecture isn't mandatory but if u want to pass u cant miss them. tests are lecture/discussion heavy and a lot of it isn't on the slides. if ur a pre-nursing major: if u can't avoid him, doing well in lab will help you stay at a B avg.
I taught everything to myself. I learned almost nothing from him. Emphasis on BAD in Badr. This course itself is gonna be at least a little bit hard, no matter who you take it with. Although, Badr will make sure you're miserable throughout the process.
when i say i like professor badr, i liked him only because i could tell he was passionate about knowledgeable about what he was teaching (and because he liked me as a student). i sat in the 1st row and tried to collect ec by answering q's. you'll get what u put into this class. it might feel like hell but you'll definitely learn a lot.
Passed his class but it was absolutely hell. It felt like I was fighting for my grade everyday and each test made me feel like I knew nothing. Your grade is decided by few tests and assignments. He takes a while to grade exams. You won't know how you're doing until like week 6 or 7. He can be rude to you in office hours and during lecture.
Prof Badr lectures well abt cardio but is not passionate abt physio as a whole. Study the slides daily + attend all lectures. EC on exams + for answering questions during lecture so sit in front. Exam questions very specific + can be confusing; many aren't on slides so pay attention to lecture. Go to OH to review tests which can boost your grade.
DO NOT TAKE. horrible professor, he blames everything on the students, if you have wifi issues, connect issues, or even get kicked out on an exam/quiz its your fault. he will report you to the dean for academic dishonesty for the simplest thing such as zooming in on screen. be prepared to teach yourself.
don't take badr please don't take his class I beg u for ur own sake unless u wanna fail miserably
This teacher nitpicks on the most minor issues especially since I got flagged twice on his end for both the first quiz and the second exam, which made me lose my sanity and faith in his lectures, especially his long notes. This applies especially when he had a schedule on the syllabus that he expected us to follow, yet he didn't follow it himself.
worst professor ever
The lecture on Physiology is very tough. No matter how much you study, it can feel overwhelming because of how detailed and strict the grading is. The professor sets high expectations, and there isn't much flexibility, so you have to stay consistent from the start. Make sure to keep your lab grades at a B or better if you are in nursing to stay in.
If you are not a part of a religion, you better pick one and pray if you take this class.
