The U of R is lucky to have Dr. Khairalla. He delivered an excellent course, despite needing to adapt to something different because of Covid-19. His exams are fair, he teaches concepts clearly, and he respects his students. The course wasn't difficult, but still felt challenging enough that I could feel like I learned something. Great guy + prof.

Dr. Khairalla is very respectful of students and goes out of his way to make sure the topics covered in class are understood. Dr. Khairalla is one of U of Rs best professors. He was very accommodating for arranging meetings to discuss exam grades or any questions. His lectures were interactive with activities like Kahoots. His exams were extremely fair, some questions would be tricky but he prepared us well to use our critical thinking skills.

Dr. Khairalla is a fantastic lecturer! He is a professor that genuinely cares for the success of his students. Gives clear instructions of what is expected in the course and will address ALL questions/concerns from the class. His lectures explain concepts in the simplest ways possible. Tests are straightforward, but will require critical thinking.

Dude's the goat. I took 310 with him. He is so helpful and is always open to criticism in fact he asks for it and actually adjusts course accordingly. I would actively look for taking classes with this guy even if its a 400+ level class.

Very interactive with the class and cares about feedback. He gives good lectures and is knowledgeable about what he is teaching so you stay interested while listening to him. In this specific class he also sets up a Kahoot after every topic (and posts them for you to review later) and I personally find them beneficial.

Professor Khairalla is a great professor, who very clearly wants his students to do well. There are only a few tests over the course, but as long as you study the lecture material and have a good understanding of it, you'll probably do pretty well. Overall a very interesting course and a great prof.

I love how the professor made this class really easy. Due to his teaching style I was able to receive good grades. I really like the structure of the class examination, and its breakdown. I hope, and look forward to take another course with Professor Ahmed in the future.

Professor Khairalla is a great professor. His lectures are interesting, he's super organized, and he cares about his students. He always makes sure that the lecture material is understood by all, and explains more clearly if needed. This has been my favorite course so far, and by far my favorite professor!

he was my first professor here at UofR and I loved him! his classes and explanations where always easy to understand and he always tried to make them dynamic, it shows how much he cares about his students and how much we learn in lectures. It was my first biology class and he made it so exciting and easy to understand all lectures, exams were easy and a little tricky but if you read out material carefully, you will for sure get amazing grades

He is really nice and cares about his students. He makes kahoot for us to learn every lecture so we know what we are learning. Also asks us which topic we are struggling to learn so he can either teach it better or accommodate us about it. He also has good humor so it is fun to listen to him. I would say def take his class. you won't regret it.

Professor Khairalla is a very good teacher and cares about his students. He takes in feedback and applies it to his lectures. He makes it clear what is on his tests and gives good reviews to make sure all students know what to expect and study.

Very well-organized professor. However, in his exam, he sometimes asks challenging questions which may not be taught by him. Be prepared to understand everything about the topic before the exam. If you give effort you will success definitely :)

I would have taken all of my biology classes from Khairalla if I could have! He is very clear about what is important to take away from his lecture slides which are not only visually appealing but also logically organized and clear. He is one of the only profs I have had that I felt genuinely cared about his students and he is very fair. 10/10 prof

I had Khairalla for 223 and 310 and he was great for both. Always looks out for his students and offers help outside of class time. If you put the work in, you will have no problem getting a 90 in his class.

Would definitely take another class of his if I could.

Ahmed was one of the best professors I have ever had. Not only is he very knowledgable in what he's teaching, he also cares to know how you are absorbing the material. His tests are very fair, and as long as you study and show up to class I do not see why you should get anything below a 75 in this course. Great prof.

Ahmed's a great teacher, lectures were fun and informative, tests were all multiple choice and no final for the class. Overall was a great professor and definitely knew how to make students laugh and went over difficult topics as many times as needed for us to understand. 10/10!

He is thankful for any questions in class, he sends out menti meters for feedback throughout the semester, and he is very approachable outside of lecture. If you are good at memorization, please take this course! This was a gpa boosting biology... never thought I would say that.

He seemed so into the material he was teaching and welcomed questions. He really valued feedback and I think he genuinely took it into consideration. Plus before midterms he would make a review Kahoot for us to do and would explain questions that we got wrong. Definitely a fun lecture!

The prof is good. However the subject biol 399 requires a good designing. The course only had three terms tests, each more than 25% and only 10% quizzes for course. No lab component. More range testable items could have made course little easy because there is so much to read and understand. Must attend lectures if wants to score more than 70%.

Really no-nonsense about plagiarism, but a really great prof. Super easy course, especially if you are in Biology or some sort of similar science (although the course can be a bit boringly easy at times if that's the case). Very interesting applications of microbiology and the 3 term tests are non-cumulative and there's no final!!

Dr. Khairalla genuinely cares about his students. His grade breakdown is really helpful to stay on top on the material during the semester. There were three term tests and a few quizzes, but no final! Great, because Heather's lab was time consuming. He gets to know his students and keeps lectures fun and engaging. Highly Recommend! Dr. Ahmed is a fantastic professor, I would recommend him over and over again. I have taken both his microbial diversity and now immunology classes and he is by far one if not the best biology professor. He is very caring, uses quizzes to prepare students for exams, splits the course into digestible chunks, and marks fairly. Highly recommend!

He is nice just keep focus on lectures and what he teaches. Midterms are tricky so be prepared.

The professor provides us all simple slides and explains them all in simple details. He often organizes Kahoot quiz based on the slides we have learnt in the previous classes which is very helpful to prepare us for the exams.

One of the best Professors I had at my time at the UofR, and easily found during office hours or over email for questions. The course itself is content heavy so be ready to do some serious studying for those higher marks, however, his use of media programs for studying tools was a nice change as well as the slides being well laid out and explained.

Overall one of my favourite bio profs I've had so far. He's really funny and easy going. He explains the content very well and in a way we can understand. For his bio 101 class, you do not have a final, he does 4 term tests consisting of all multiple choice. They are pretty doable if you study the notes and attend class regularly.

Amazing. 4 term tests- no final or midterms essentailly. Prof actually cares about student feedback and will change his ways if need be to help benefit the students. Easily accessible and understanding. Knowledgable and considerate. Makes jokes in his lecture, 101 is heavy, but he does his best when he can, and the rest is the students job.

Only downfall is some exam questions come from only what is said in class, and not written down in the slides. If you study hard, you will be able to do great.

Not everything you need to know is in the slides so you need to go to class! He explains the information really well, however the term tests can be hard. His questions in exams are very specific, however I would rather 3 terms test like that instead of a final. NO FINAL EXAM!

Overall very good professor. Notes are easy to understand but I would still rec coming to class cause he goes a little deeper into the notes - he'll talk about things that are not so obvious in the notes. Pretty comedic at times, but can also be a bit dry.

Guys he is one of, if not the best profs at university. I've taken him a couple of times already and you can really see how seriously he takes his job with how well he teaches the courses and how fair he is. Come to class because he often goes more in depth on some of the topics and that might appear in a midterm. He really is the best guys.

The concepts in this course are made a lot easier from his explanations. He clearly cares both about getting students to understand the concepts, and the course material. Make sure to attend lectures because there'll be topics mentioned that won't be on the slides, and they will be asked on the midterms. Overall, great course.
