He is a very good teacher. if you ask him something he will explain it to you til' you get it in your brain. Very kind and helpfull. has a little accent but it won't be a problem.
He is very nice. He's really enthusiastic, too which helps. He has a bit of an accent which is NOT a problem. Also, I've never heard of having to do a presentation or write a paper for a math class, which you do in this class. It wasn't too bad though. He's very nice and has a good teaching style. A bit repetitive though ...
What we learn in class and what we do on the online homework and tests are VERY DIFFERENT. I usually make all As, but I'm begging for a B in this class. He doesn't give out study guides till the day OF the test! He is a very, very nice man, he just doesn't understand that his teaching doesn't help with the online homework.
i really enjoyed this class! the only thing that rubbed me the wrong way about this class (and i dont think it was bc of the teacher) was the MyMathLab its so un-user friendly and wastes time. he teaches all the material that is on his tests and he is really nice too! i HIGHLY recommend his class if youre prepared to work hard and study!
One of the best teachers I have ever had. I really enjoy math because of his class. Unfortunately, he is leaving Eastfield, but I plan to follow him where ever he goes. I can't imagine math w/o him.
This teacher is not considerate at all and he doesn't grade by anything but three tests and a bit of online homework. I think all the good comments he has on here are from him himself. He is always defending himself when the students find a problem with one of his test questions and he does his best to avoid students complaining about the coursewor
Just finished his class yesterday. The guy knows his stuff. Never boring. Very helpful. The thing I like most about him is when he digresses to talk about how a concept came or the man behind the concept. You have to be willing to work hard and like math just a tiny bit and you are on your way to getting an easy A. Strongly recommend him.
I think this prof.'s clarity was terrible. He was always defending himself, and has an attitude as well. He doesn't do much, and his grades would sometimes lag and it's not even much! Not recommended. 4 tests and online homework.
He is extremely helpful. I just finished his class, got an easy A. He gives reviews for tests and those are extremenly helpful. I recommend it to everyone, strongly.
He speaks and teaches too fast. Not straight forward when teaching. Treats his students as middle school kids. Very sloppy (teaches then talks about something else, goes back to teaching). Accent is difficult to understand. Not recommended. He makes business calc harder than it really should be.
Great professor. I would recommend him to anyone. Anyone that says his classes are hard are probably lazy and didn't want to do much work. I agree that my math lab was very frustrating but its not his fault. Hint: To pass the class with an easy A make sure you attend and pay attention to the review....they are verrrrry similar to the test.
I used the book a lot but got my A!
I took Linear Algebra with Dr Rashed this summer. This an intensive math class. In four weeks, we covered a LOT. The professor was very helpful and he did an excellen jo explaining the topics. His notes and handouts are much better than the textbook. He also provide very helpfull reviews before each test. I enjoyed the class and I learned a lot.
good teacher but hard. does not provide proper feed back so you don't know how you are doing. takes over a month to get test grades back if that.
He is a good teacher. I like his style and he is helpful. I want to sign up for his Business Calculus class but it's full.
He is alright at teaching. Not great. Reviews are almost identical to his tests. However, don't plan on getting your test back in a timely fashion. Plan on waiting at least 2 weeks. Very nice guy.
I took this class online. The first 4 weeks there was an outline on assignments that were do, and after that you were on your own. The tests are only 20 questions. After confronting him..he realized many of the answers on the review were WRONG! how are you suppose to study with the wrong answers!!!
He is an excellent teacher. I leaned A LOT from him. He goes way beyond the math into the history and the science. I leaned Calculus and much much more. The only thing I did not like about the class was not getting the tests back in timely manner. Other than that Rashed is a great professor. And he is really nice and helpful.
Dr Rashed is a very good teacher. He is the best teacher I've had in Math since I've been going to Richland College. He is very clear and what he teaches is so easy to understand that you wont even need the textbook to study. I dont know about other math level, but if you are looking for the perfect teacher for Calculus I, take Dr Rashed.
Dr.Rashed is very smart and he knows how to teach. Make sure to work on the reviews as the tests are pretty much similar to them. He is also very funny and easy to talk to. His quizzes are group work and not hard. However, you have to do the homework online on time. He gives only a week or 5 days to complete them.
Best math teacher I've ever had. His assignments are on online and are available from the beginning of class. Test are almost identical to reviews. He is very prepared for class and has powerpoints online. Does a great job at making calculus understandable. He knows his subject very well. Only bad thing- takes a month to get test scores back
Pros:intelligent, nice, has a sense of humor, thoroughly understands the subject, willing to help students. allows cheatsheet. Cons:Does not give tests back until a week or two afterward, (summer)tried to teach us a large section of the book which would be on the test while doing the review for the test and expects us to understand it -_-.
Professor Rashed is a great teacher. He is very passionate about his class and he wants you to succeed. He will answer any questions you have and as long as you study and do his reviews you should do fine in the class. My only complaint is that he is very jumpy during the lesson. Sometimes it just feels like we're just hopping problem to problem.
He's a good teacher but is very unorganized. Did not receive tests back for two weeks (summer classes). Only grades are homework, three tests, and a final. Only cushion grade is homework, if you do it all. Tests were pretty difficult, had a lot of material and sometimes learned new stuff while doing the review the day before the the test.
He's a really good teacher..he actually TEACHES and he explains really well. If you don't like algebra, then obviously you won't like the class regardless, but if your a math lover he's the one for you.
I did well in his class. College Algebra alone is a tough class, but I feel like he tried to simplify it as much as you can simplify algebra. He's helpful and dedicated to trying to help you understand. Most of the assignments are on MY MATH LAB with HW and Quizzes, but if you do well on them to the point of understanding, you will do well on tests
Okay, So this teacher has pros and cons. Pros: Easy, Nice, Teaches good, Tests are a copy of the review. Cons: WILL NOT HELP YOU if you forget or do something the wrong way. He doesn't believe in helping out people. Moreover he doesn't specify information about the class in a clear way. I would and wouldn't suggest him at the same time.
This professor is the best professor alive. All other richland college math professors respect him. He's a genius, and he is xtremely strong.cn teach for 5 hrs without getin tired, as long as u undrstand him. If you listn in clas, u do not nid txtbk, xcept jst for personal use. practce d reviews, and u gd. I hrdly rate bt i gotta say this..bestttt
His class extremely hard. 3 test and 1 final. He give out the review before the test but it only help for couple question and the test is NOT BASE on the review. You have to study very carefully and well prepare for the test. His explanation is so boring to death. Don't take him if you had a strong math skill. Not EASY an A class.
The last two posts are pretty accurate. I would say that as far as actual, literal teaching, this guy is great. He is articulate and passionate about the subject. He is lacking in every other area. He doesn't return grades, he won't work with the student, claims to "review" as he goes. His tests are much harder than the assigned homework or quizzes
He is an irresponsible teacher. First, he does not return quizzes or post quiz grades online. Second, he does not hand back test 2 or 3 grade until final. It shows that he does not care how his student is doing. Third, he teaches random stuff ahead of time . When he gets to that part in the future he assumes that he has taught that and skip it.
I am a straight A student untill this class. Overall his test are hard. I used to love math till i took him and now i hate it.I would take a differnt profesor if i had known this about him.
I would definitely not recommend this professor, especially in the summer. He does not return emails in a timely manner, if he even returns them at all. Grades take awhile to be posted so you are unaware of how you are doing in the class. Not recommended.
all the comments about him is accurate. His test are not from the text
Not recommended for Linear-Algebra! The lectures were very vague. I retook this course with a different teacher and got an A.
Best teach ever!! he is really helpful. I do not knew why he have just bad rating. I took him in summer and A's the class four test and some quizzes. If you do good in the mastery test you will do fine in the exams. Awesome teacher!!
wow this class was a total disaster. mainly because i couldnt understand what he was trying to say when i needed help on a question. im never taking him again and to top it off i failed the class with an F!! Dont take a computer math class!! take a regular lecture class trust me!! i have to take math again!! but not with him!!!
He's the greatest math professor I ever took with him. He explains things so well, but you must study to make good grades.
Dr. Rashed is a great professor, he's very helpful, very energetic, and enthusiastic. This guy really loves math and he loves to teach it. He lectures without any notes, all from his head, yet his lectures are very organized and easy to follow. He uses the Smart Board effectively and he uploads his lecture note in ecampus.
horrible!! he doesn't care his students. take for months for test back. students asked many times he said he would post it midnight and did it exactly 1159 mid. did he like to joke to students? look at professor Lott he taught many classes, but graded all finals only the afternoon and posted it right that night. not recommend him
Such a good teacher! I didn't know it was going to be lab when I signed up and thought what did I get myself into, but the class was super easy! He's really good with notes and teaching you what you need to know. If you have questions he makes sure to explain it to you until you understand it. Would recommend.
Took this as a computer lecture class; the professor is rarely necessary most of the time as myMathLab explains it all. He does go over the material though. He's a funny guy, makes jokes and all. Strict on rules, but I enjoyed the class.
Do not take his class. worst teacher in the history of richland
First, the good reviews on here are either written by him because they don't describe him at all. He is SO unresponsive to emails, if you have a question, well don't expect it to be answered. He doesn't give out any resources to help you, just MML, his tests are 6 questions and just random, grades don't get posted until the end. Not worth it at all
Probably the WORST professor anyone could ever take. He is a terrible instructor, and you dont understand the material at all. He never responds to emails, and his test reviews are NOTHING like the test. His tests are from hell. And to top it all off, he is outstandingly pathetic. So unprofessional. DONT TAKE HIM. He doesnt deserve to be a teacher.
He is the worst professor I have ever taken. Every comment, except the positive ones because they are probably written by him, on here about him is true. He does not care for his students. The online course was hell. The tutorial videos THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP YOU ARE NOT EVEN RIGHT. I absolutely do not recommend him. I WAS a straight A student
he is the worst teacher ever. I don't recommend anyone to take any of his classes. he makes everything difficult. I used to love math, but not anymore after his class
This was a summer course, wrote his notes on the smart board and uploaded them on eCampus for students to study in case you miss class. Test reviews were almost identical to the test, but still make sure to study. He does seem like a competent instructor and I will be taking him again as there are MUCH worse teachers at Richland. Do recommend.
I have him for Spring 2015. When I saw the mixed reviews before taking his class, I was pretty nervous because students were either stating he's bad or he's good. But so far, he's pretty good. I feel like the bad reviews were from incompetent or lazy students. If you pay close attention or are already good in math, then it shouldn't be a problem.
Not good. He never response to emails . If he does, it is usually too late. Not grading test on time. In general very irresponsible teacher. If you take online class, don't expect any help
worst class ever taken! Bad accent, very poor teaching skills. Extremely uneccesary and hard exams online ! no extra credit !
Dr Rashed is an incredibly intellectual man, I had him last semester, and after seeing these terrible reviews, I have to set the record straight: Dr. Rashed is very kind, and his class is very easy. and as long as you do your work (read & HW) you'll be absolutely fine.
You don't want to take stats with this professor. He's late to class every day. He takes about 20 minutes to actually start lecture. Never replies to emails or phone calls. Isn't good at teaching the material. He's rude to students and puts people down. Not a fun class at all.
Don't take this class if you want to pass statistics. He doesn't teach anything, questions for exams are neither from mymathlab nor from text book. Review for Exam is extremely different from his actual exam, no mercy in grading also. He assigns for mymathlab without concerning students timing.
This is a normal credit class. However, he doesn't respond to emails in a timely manner. I had other students constantly emailing me asking if I had ever emailed this teacher and gotten a response. Out of the three times I emailed him, he responded once. He is very hard to get in contact with!
In all honesty, Professor Rashed really is very intellectual and he knows what he's teaching. He does have a sense of humor, which helped through the long lectures, BUT his class is tough! If you are a math major, I would highly recommend him. If you're just trying to pass your required math credit, then take another professor!
The online precalculus class is taken using webassign. The service is more expensive and difficult than mymathlab. The professor takes along time to grade and is not helpful in the course at all. You pay him to learn from the web service, and you pay them too. I assume you're just a number in this class to him. You'll receive no help.
Took him in SU15. Nice thing is that he gave review that are similar to the test, 4 DBs are not hard, expect hw assignments from MML. The only problem is that he usually delay replying emails when you ask for something or he will not reply at all. Recommended take him! Easy A if you do all the works and study.
He's helpful (test questions come straight from notesreviews (not from HWbook), but doesn't help outside of class). Posts class notes. Tough grader. He gives you everything you need, so memorize calculations and theory (important), you'll do fine. Summer class is fast, but doable. Final is not actually cumulative (info from last week of class).
Math isn't supposed to be easy, so don't be expecting an easy A. Prof. Rashed is a good teacher and knows what he's doing, but if you don't know what you're doing then that's your problem. His tests are like his reviews, the reviews are from the h.w., and he shows you how to do the h.w. from his lectures. So pay attention and it won't be hard.
He confused what his lecture is. A lot of times he need to stop the lecture and think what's going on, how he got this result, why the result is like that. ..... Just don't take his class, I regret I did By the way. He always forgot to post the homework assignment online, the result is you cannot review in time. It leads you to a poor grade.
Unless you are well versed in math, I would highly recommend not taking this professor under any circumstance. This is not an environment for learning. Rashed merely demonstrates applications of calculus and expects you to follow along as if the material is as intuitive as he sees it. If you lack in areas such as algebra, he will scold you.
Mr. Rashed is the worst professor I've ever had. He never responded to his emails, does not offer guidance for the students, and has unusual requirements for his online course, such as scanning in large amounts of paperwork. He is so awful, that I've actually made a formal complaint to the Dean. You've been warned! Don't take his class!
In all honestly his actually a very good teacher. I just finished a spring 2016 semester with him and I passed with a C. He's very intellectual. I worked very hard for this grade and put in all i had. I was very grateful in passing because I know it could've been worse. I was on the verge of failing but a friend helped me on the last test ;)
Mr. Rashed is the coolest teacher ever. His accent is so funny and he gives answers on every homework and then he asks us to turn them in. His tests are identical to the reviews so I highly recommend to take this class
Sweet and helpful guy
This guy really knows how to teach, whatever he says, it sticks to your head because of his accent. Very straightforward and clear when teaching. I hope everyone can be as lucky as me and join this class especially if you are in college algebra or trigonometry
If you're taking college algebra make sure you go with Rashed. He allows you to go through graded tests and try to earn back some points from the questions u missed. However he only does this type of extra credit if the class behaves.
I have two words for this, EXTRA CREDIT! Rashid is such a good professor and I can't believe that I am saying this but he gives us so much extra credit that it is impossible to fail. If you fail, then it is okay because it is impossible with the amount of extra credit he gives us
Mr. Rashid is cool, he goes to school
To make this short and simple, he is one of the easiest professor in college algebra. Don't take Puente or Cisse because this guy is better than them both
He's very great instructor! Tests are easy and his face is so sexy. Beautiful and he doesn't take off points for being late or missing class
never take him if you don't want to fail, stupid true /false questions he likes to give on the test , and he does explain well , i never get C in math but the man is very though so be aware of
Mr. Rashed is a great teacher for his statway class he's very patient in teaching and he always ask if the students understand what is teaching our class didn't get any extra credit for any work but we always worked in groups and went over the lesson together i can't say it will be an easy A but that all depends on how well u do in math great man.
Although this class was pretty easy if you did all the homework, lectures were SUPER boring and hard to follow. I pretty much ended up teaching myself everything and wanted to fall asleep in his class. He has a thick accent and a dry sense of humor. Easy A, but good luck getting through the lectures. Also I took this class at collin college
I had Professor Rashed for Math 1314 (College Algebra). He was an incredible teacher. His lessons were easy to follow and he consistently checked to make sure everyone was understanding. He jokes around in class occasionally, and sometimes he is funny. Overall, i would recommend him for any class you have to take. He cares about your education.
He goes pretty fast during lectures, so if math isn't one of your strong subjects, I would take someone else. Homework and tests are straightforward.
He didn't respond to 2 of my email when I emailed him to please explain to me about grading and home work questions I didn't understand. I can honestly say I got excellent grades purely on my own. Don't expect anything from him.
I took Professor Rashed for calculus 3. My favorite thing about his class is that he posts all his notes on ecampus. It helped me put more focus on him teaching and learning the material instead of worrying about copying everything on the board. Overall he is a good professor and a good person. A+
He was very good at giving lectures and always made sure to teach what would be on the homework. He truly wants all his students to pass and makes sure to give them a chance at extra credit. He would always make funny remarks in order for us to remember formulas and such. If you actually want to learn math take his class. (and do homework)
This was my second time taking college algebra. He is the better choice then my last math professor. His lectures are clear and he makes it a lot easier to understand. He has quite an accent though. If you attend every class then it should be an easy class. Math is my worst subject yet I managed to pass his.
This is first Math class where we have to write 2 essays. That's frustrating. Is it some English course class? Then why should we write essays for credit? Besides we have to do large volume of home works. And even in tests we are not getting feasible time (as we have to do separate work in paper and scan them and send it within 30 minutes of test)
i took this class online for summer 1. exams are the same as reviews and hmw. So that should automatically help pass. all you need to do is hmw and 4 exams plus final.
Professor gets mad when you ask questions both in class and outside! I emailed him to meet outside of office hours because of work and he gave me a horrible response and wasn't even there. He uses no powerpoints or textbook references so everything is super hard to follow. I'm almost certain only one person is passing in the class. DO NOT TAKE.
I like the man, but his class is too boring, i cannot cannot cannot do this again :(. he is very fair though, and the reviews are very similar to the tests.
i did not answer to e mail or phone message
Please beware of this teacher for his online class. This teacher is very black and white. He will not extend any assignments and takes days to return a email. He does not give any additional help with online assignments. Either you have it or you dont. Be prepared to show your work for all test 30 mins after finishing. This was not an easy class.
Beware of taking his math online! Hes based of all my math lab and doesnt seem to care at all for students.
Probably the worst professor Ive ever had. He does not respond to emails and seems to not care about his students at all. Also he is very unorganized and would send emails with info that does not match the syllabus. Would never recommend him to anyone.
First time I even came close to failing, so what happened? I did my homework, learned the concepts, practice 6 out of 7 days a week, often 4 hours a day, and did my best on the test. Ahmed, you know you fail your students for absurd reasons. So I hope youre happy with that, cuz no one else would be. -Sincerely, the one who fail your tests
I mean I took an 8 week sped up Calc course with this professor and got a B. 5 tests- including final which replaces lowest test grade- all work must be submitted via ecampus within 30 mins of completion of timed test. I must admit the homework' were obnoxious because MML gets on my nerves but they really aren' worth much so i skipped out on some.
DO YOU WANT TO FAIL? TAKE HIM. I was a 4.0 student until I took this professor for CALC 1. I have always been great at math, throughout high school and college, but he is just completely unrealistic. I took him over a summer session, a 5 week course, and god I wish I would have taken anybody else. TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE.
If you are signing up for his class, you either have no choice or you don't care enough about yourself. He takes pleasure in failing students with a 4.0 GPA. Does not teach and does not know how to. He is arrogant , proud and devoid of any knowledge in Math. May be his life is miserable, so he takes it out on us by humiliating us with no evidence t
Nobody expects a Bus. Calc class to be a breeze. I am pretty good at math, though, and I found the amount of online homework to be absolutely absurd. The tests were easy and usually straight from the homework, BUT he makes you turn in your written work to support your answers within 30 minutes of submitting. And there are discussion boards. What?
Takes his time to get back to emails. Reviews are similar to actual test. Everything is based out of Mathlab. Work is to be submitted within 30 mins of the review, this part is understandable. Your answer is either right or wrong, even if how you solved the problem is correct with minor errors in the answer.
Completing the course in four weeks was rather challenging. The four exams were fairly fast-paced and were the most difficult aspect of the course as they gave about 5 minutes per question.
He does not teach very well, he just goes through the problems and skips steps while so called "teaching" when you're just actually taking notes. Very fast pace and does not go over some things that are in MyMathLab which makes the homework confusing at times. Do not take this class if you do not like reading the textbook and teaching yourself.
Dont take it dude. I got a easy F from this class. No extra credit and also: exams make like 80 percent of the class.
Do yourself a favor and don't take his class. he never was prepared, often not clear, and he keeps making mistakes. he is a very tough grader and tries to make you lose points instead of helping you out.
Amazing professor. Have no idea why people here don't like him. He loves math, he knows math and he is very good a teaching math. His lectures are very interesting! He will be very happy to answer all your questions and help you with HW. You will have to study hard for your grade, and if you are not good at math you might have difficult times.
At first I was nervous to take professor Rashed's class due to the reviews, in reality Rashed is not the best communicator, however his grading is generally in your favor, and although I had not actually met him I consider him to be quite helpful when needed online. Be aware the class grade is made up of the tests predominantly, good prof overall!
Doesn't respond to emails
I understand the part where I have to scan my exam written work and submit it to him because that's how online math courses are supposed to work. However, what confuses me the most is that the professor literally takes whatever you got from mymathlab as your grade; he doesn't even look at the written work.
I haven't met him in person, but I think I shouldn't.
I took his class online and it was my biggest mistake. When it came to the tests, he NEVER checked the work I uploaded. He only checked the grade on mymathlab as it is. He also never responded to my emails. There were like 80 hw questions due everyday except for Sundays.
THE WORST PROFESSOR I'VE BY FAR ENCOUNTERED! Homeworks were outta hand, 2 sections or more at least, due every day as if we don't have other things to do. One thing I hate about this professor is that he asks for you to upload your works for tests, which is completely understandable as this is an online class. But you have 30 mins to do so and stil
He accused me of cheating and gave me a 62 on a test I scored a 88 on because of it. He did not reach out to me, so I had to email him and ask to dispute his claim that I cheated. I had to spend time on campus with him and proving that I did not cheat. And there was no sincere apology on his part even after it became clear that I did not cheat.
this man weighs tests too high, up to 80% while everything else is just a measly 20%. I work real hard to get an A+ for homework just for it to be ruined by a 75 for the first test! He dropped my original test of 85 to a 75 just because I work ahead in class, and used a style he thought later in lessons, and i'd got the answer right so come on man.
I wish there was a 0 that I could rate this professor instead of a 1. Worst professor I have ever had! He does not teach at all, and when you communicate with him he is very condescending and rude. It seems as if he wants students to get a bad grade; on a test I had put correct answers but in a different format and he still marked them incorrect.
I took him for a spring fast track course. I made it aware to him of my obstacles in the class being time restraints and all he did was send me a single sentence saying to go use the tutoring. I don't have issues with the material, I can't spend all day everyday trying to learn math then go and do 80 questions. I have other classes too ya know!!!!!
Professor Rashed is one of the bests, he knows what he is doing and if you pay attention, you will do super good in his class... He is old school but very caring.
I took this class during COVID & I couldnt upload a test . He is mean I emailed him about my test paperwork but he didnt give me any points . I dont think he should teach . He isnt good teacher . Math is hard not everyone can teach right some professor can only teach right hes not one of them . Dont take him . He doesnt care for his student.
Dont take this professor .
I took him online for Pre-Cal, and so far I am enjoying his class set up. There are lots of homework, but that helps give some leeway if you REALLY have to miss a couple for any extranneous reasons.
Dont take his Class
Do not take him under no circumstances.
Dont take this class. He doesnt teach, purposely down grades you. Will never reply to ur emails until you dont spam him. And a response will be a 1 line. Very rude and arrogant professor. Doesnt care about his students and is a shame to the respected profession of a teacher. Will make your life hard purposely
We had to do online tests on Webassign and also turn in the written work in pdf to Ecampus. If your test grades differ on these two, he will take the one that is less. Grading criteria aren't clear and there is no comment provided. If you email to ask, he will be super rude and threaten to lower your score. DON'T EVER TAKE HIM!!!
soo bad techer
Mr. Rashed syllabus says to expect 26 hrs a week of asgmts./study time. The average time just on asgmts. was 52 hrs on line time. Asgmts. counted 17% of grade. Not one free day to study for tests. Day before test, had to complete worksheet that took hrs. to do. Tests counted 80% of grade. Had to write 400 word essay+4 replies. Only counts for 2%.
Worst professor. Took a summer class while I worked full-time. There's homework due almost everyday. You have to submit your work for EACH question on the tests 30 mins after taking it. The final doesnt give you your score. There's 2 discussion boards 400 words or more plus 4 replies, but no one does it so theres noone to reply to. no extra credit
If you take this class make sure you know how to learn on your own because this professor doesnt teach ANYTHING. I am taking his summer course and all he does is grade and assign work. He doesnt give enough time on the tests worth 80%. He assigns so much work without any instruction and makes your life so much harder. DO NOT take this instructor!
I have never struggled with math, even took and passed Calc I with an A in high school. Tests may be similar to the review, they may not. You must show your work entirely, using a calculator will get you failed (my first test can attest). Extremely disrespectful, broken English so he can't communicate. HW is just busy work that's far too abstract.
Extremely rude, he does not care about his student. He will downgrade you if you email him and ask questions. no online classes and too much homework. DON'T TAKE CLASS WITH HIM. this world comes from someone who never had under A at math.
Just bad all around. Mean spirited and should not be teaching. RUN.
Do not take this class with him. He will grade you so hard. He makes you show every single detail of work on the exams and if it does not meet his standards then he will accuse you of cheating. Ridiculous!!! There is also homework due every other day which makes it almost impossible to stay ahead. Just don't. I BEG YOU NOT TO TAKE HIM!!!!!!
Worst professor I have taken thus far in my academic career. I have never had to bring a professors behavior to the schools attention. He is disrespectful and unsupportive. He unjustly accused me of being dishonesty twice, when I pointed out his error he he replied with "my bad". This among 2 other incidents.
Took multiple of his math classes for my AS Degree. He knows calculus well and is forward on what is expected. Uses common sense rather than being so by the book with homework but be prepared to do some work. Just learn the material he goes over and communicate when you have questions. Again he knows the subject well with real world examples.
I had questions about the material (homework, quizzes) and had to email him but it takes him a couple of days to reply, understandable. However, when he answered my emails none of them answer my questions. Instead professor Ahmed responds with something not having to do with my question.
This professor is the worst. Avoid at all costs. Be prepared to know all the content but still make 30's on the exams anyway. MyLab math requires very explicit answers for its questions , so correct answers are still counted incorrect. Rashed is an incredibly harsh grader, so those incorrect answered are left incorrect most of the time. 0/10. Avoid
Worst I've ever had. Ever. Enabled the class on his admin dashboard without vetting any homework questions, reviews, or tests. Links to YouTube videos rather than uploads lectures. Doesn't teach, help with questions, nor creates his own lectures. Teach yourself. Expects uploaded written work for tests but does not give partial credit anyways. LOL!
Absolutely terrible teacher. Tests will have questions about things not covered in class or homework, so youd better hope you just magically know it from somewhere else. Doesnt even give lectures, uses YouTube video links instead.
Ok Professor. He's way better than what the other ratings say. His lectures are easy to understand but can sometimes be boring. Tests are easy to medium difficulty.
Professor is bad at teaching, mostly just solves problems on his own w out actually teaching. Screwed class over on multiple occasions, 1 being he changed the test date for a test and gave 2 days notice when we previously were told we would take test in over a week. Pretty much screws you over and acts like what he did is fair. Bad educator.
His syllabus says you can use a calculator for exams. Then when it comes time to do the exam, it says that you can't. You can only have a pen/pencil and blank pieces of paper. He won't teach a thing! He's not very prompt on emails. He won't post anything. And he even disabled the discussion board. As far as I can tell he is lazy and doesn't care.
He went through the lessons very fast without properly explaining the material. He didn't update the syllabus so we had no idea when our tests would be. There was barely any notice for our tests and he did not respond to my emails. No extra credit
Choose another calculus professor. This one just gives me a headache with all the confusion he lays out in his announcements!
5-week summer online course. HW and Tests use MyMathLab. Use lockdown for exams. Expect to put 2 to 4 hours of work daily so that you don't fall behind. For the amount of homework assigned, 17 percent of your grade is scandalous. Exams worth 80 percent. I didn't finish 2 exams. 90 mins ain't enough time. If you get an A, fair play. Stay away imo.
does not know how to teach and doesnt have manners
doesn't know what the is teaching
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS Every day you will be doing homework nonstop and have like 2-4 homework assignments due a day. You do not have time to take the exams which are 90 minute per exam (110 for final). After finishing the exam, you HAVE 15 MINUTES TO submit your answers, or he will lower your grade or not give your partial points. Worse proffesor
Gets mad if u do not understand after asking multiple times how to do something, lots of homework that you rarely get to go over in class. Does not know how to teach
The terrible professor almost ruined my perfect 4.0 GPA please do not take him and if u get him from a random dual credit assignment good luck.
Math 1324 isn't easy!!! You have to go above and beyond to put in the hard work in Professor Rashed Math 1324 class. Motivation and determination is the key to be successful in his class. He counts attendance as part of your grade. Make sure you show up everyday ready to learn and take plenty of notes.
This professor teaches the class like it's a puzzle. He'll solve a problem and get to the answer, and you're left to decipher how he got there. He tends to get a little annoyed when you ask him a question. If you ask him how he got to an answer he'll reply in a condescending way, making you feel stupid and embarrassed. His tests are also tricky.
WORST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. HE ALSO ALWAYS SO RUDE TO ME AND DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ME. I HAVE ALWAYS EXCELLED AT MATH AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I FAILED. DON'T TAKE HIM! YOU WILL REGRET IT. I'VE NEVER HAD A MORE STRESSFUL SEMESTER AND MORE OF A TOUGH TIME LEARNING MATH EVER. MOST OF THE CLASS DROPPED TO. EVERYONE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE
This professor has the worst grading scale I have ever seen, 20% on homework and 80% on tests for starters. The tests are abhorrently graded, we get 0 credit for a question if the work doesn't match the given answer, even if guessed by chance. His communication is awful, ignored 3 of my emails even though he claims "he is always checking his email"
Not responsive to students, harsh grading, 80% on tests, rude attitude towards students.
Literally just gives a link to a youtube playlist that doesn't even follow the textbook or homeworks. Strct and rigid grading policies -- I made technical mistakes when submitting exams and even though I had proof of my work and gave me a 0 on two exams for these small mistakes. Mean and rude and unresponsive to emails. Cares nothing for students.
Terrible professor unresponsive to emails unrealistic exam expectations and deadlines does not teach, very slow to provide clarity
Honestly worst professor I have ever had in my life, steer clear and make sure to take this with literally anyone else. Tests worth 80 percent and homework only worth 17, take this class out of state if needed, just don't take it with him.
Approx. 76% of grade is test, no useful videos, paranoid youre a cheater to the point of making your life more difficult (ex. each exam you must waste limited time to write a paragraph swearing that youre not cheating despite the exams being proctored with an external webcam), unhelpful, doesnt respond to emails. I wish RMP allowed more characters.
Prof takes this class so seriously like it's an Ivy University Calc 3 class instead of community college. So much HW, makes taking tests so difficult bc you need to buy a camera and take a picture of your work within a certain time frame. Chose this class bc it was the last one left, don't make the same mistake I did just take it somewhere else.
Tests are incredibly hard and worth most of your grade. Lots of homework which takes so much time and not even worth a lot in the overall grade. Very difficult to pass the class.
He is one of the awful professors ever took. He wants an external camera to be put. He don't respond to emails at all. If you take him better be prepared you need take the course again.Try to read all the comments over here and better avoid this guy. Don't take him even if he is only professor available. Better try to understand what I'm saying.
Okay, I really do not know why everyone dislikes Professor Rashed. I am awful at math, like to a point where teachers are concerned. He met with me after every exam and always rounded my grades up to a 70-71 and the last exam, he rounded my 76 to an 80. Just show your work bc he gives extra points!! This class is harder if you don't reach out :)
Had him in person, gives a review days before the test. Lots of MML assignments, they kind of help with understanding the material. Tests are done in class on paper. 3 tests 1 final. note card allowed on last test and final. IMO the way he explains the material is confusing. Study the reviews and you will probably be okay.
HOMEWORK! a bunch of it, and honestly too much of it. I don't like when teachers think you have only one class. Especially if you are a engineering major. I'm already taking so many classes just so you can give me homework that takes all day to do? WHY? it was so disappointing, he can teach well but its draining, not worth it.
Very difficult online class, especially if you don't have a good foundation in math. We are taught through videos, but some concepts are harder to understand. When taking exams because he only wants you to use the textbook techniques or it will be considered wrong. There's also non-stop homework so try to get ahead if you can.
To be honest going into the semester reading these reviews i thought he would be a terrible prof, but he wasn't really that bad. Yes the entire class is structured around lectures and homework but if you actually take the time and effort, it's kind of hard to fail, especially on the final. The final is 1:1 identical to the review just study it
