She's the best you could have. She's spent so much time with us, explaining, letting us learn through real-life examples. She makes you feel special. She's incredible with people. I love her!
I cannot tell you how much I learned about community health nursing with this professor. She is absolutely the best professor I ever had. Take her course and you will love it.
I thank God I had her. She went the extra mile for us in clinical. She spent hours teaching us how to put the pieces together. She is the most wonderful person and mentor you could ever have. She should teach more lectures. THE BEST THERE IS!
Tough lady!
She is not tough! She is the best there is. She ALWAYS does whatever she can to help, and she really cares about her students. She always challenges us and makes us think, think, think.
Incredibly smart professor, very helpful, inspiring, the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't even hesitate to take her,she is blessing in our nursing career
She is an amazing instructor yes she is tough but she will make you a good nurse. She answers all emails and is always there for her students. Take her she is for the students and is awesome!!!!
Wow! what an inspiration! she's a great role model. never seen anyone with so much energy. loves to teach, loves her students. and we love her! best, awesome, excellent. she's so kind she made me cry (but in a good way). you won't be disappointed
GREAT PERSONALITY:MAKES EVERYTHING INTERESTING!
Love her, love her, love her! She is a wonderful human being, student advocate, professor and nurse. She's pretty, too. Great smile, great personality. She really cares that students understand. She's a blessing.
She's the best professor in the bachelor's program. She is super, super smart, and can explain everything simply. Uses real life examples and gets everyone to participate. Classes are interesting, and worth going to. She should run the program. Really.
EXCELLENTTTT !!!
I cannot tell you how wonderfully nice this professor is. She is so compassionate with people, and everyone loves her. She is extremely kind with her students. I have learned so very much from her; more than I ever thought. She has opened my eyes up to so much that nurses can do. She is an inspiration, has a great smile, and is the best!
I have not had her - yet. But I already like her: I am a new nursing student and she came and talked to the lot of us. She was so captivating when she talked. A truly talented public speaker, and from the feel of it, an excellent professor and nurse. I really hope to have her teach me. It doesn't hurt that she's also really beautiful.
Best nursing professor i've ever had; material is explained so cleary; made understandable and easy.
You must do work, but she is so helpful. Not looking to fail anyone. Wish I could clone her and have her for every class.
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. I've learned so much from this professor. Wish she ran the BS program!
This Professor is helpful, smart, and a great teacher.
She is the best and should be Chair!!! She is one of the few Prof. in that nursing program that cares for us. God Bless her!
Wish she taught ALL of the BS classes. She's brilliant, gifted, loves her students, and is an amazing person. Her way of teaching sticks and she opens your eyes to the world of nursing like no one else. Plus, she's beautiful, has a great smile and sense of humor. She's a true treasure. THE BEST!!
She is the best professor in the nursing department, which I could take her for every course. She is helpful clear and it's obvious she wants you to learn and go on. If you cant understand something she is there to help you even with other courses. Cant say enough good things about this professor. TAKE HER FOR CLINICAL ALSO.
Comment below is so far-off base and UNTRUE. Dr. E is professional, humble, a wonderful student advocate. You WILL learn an incredible amount from her, and she makes sure everyone in the class is included in the experience. Her class is a lot of work, all positive. Students work hard for her because she works hard for students.
Megawatt smile lights up the room! Great sense of humor. Sharp dresser and mind. Just the nicest, most intelligent professor around.
The BEST at NYCCT!!!!!! Never had a professor who cared so much about students clearly understanding the material. Goes through things in so many different ways, you have to get it! Puts all the pieces together in ways you will know it. She actually cried in class when we did poorly. Now, that's caring!
SIMPLY THE BEST! ONE OF THE S BEST PROFESSOR'S THE NURSING DEPT HAS. VERY DEDICATED TO HER STUDENTS, VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT TEACHING AND WILL BREAK THE MATERIAL DOWN IN SO MANY WAYS YOU WILL UNDERSTAND. SHE IS KNOWLEDGABLE AND TEACHES. SIMPLY THE BEST!
Brilliant! Give her any topic and she can give you back 8 nursing questions within 2 minutes. Amazing! Super, super person who really cares about her students. Plus, she's beautiful to look at! We LOVE her!
This teacher knows her stuff. She can explain anything you need help with. Only problem is, she seems a little egotistical and standoffish. Besides that, she is full of knowledge. So if you are student that does not understand by just reading the book, she is a life saver...if you are really studying.
Excellent professor! So very interesting, yet down-to-earth! Challenges students to think, share, grow in many ways. Makes boring and complicated topics easy to understand.
This woman is amazing. She is so helpful, careful and willing to help her students. She is so smart and really teaches you how to think as a nurse. She is exactly how all the school's nursing professors should be.
She's now Coordinator of the RN=BS program. It's about time! She will definitely bring brilliant ideas and current information. No more anti-student behavior in the department!
The best professor in the department, hands down! She makes you work hard, but you come out knowing stuff that really has a huge impact on your practice. She was amazing, and is really passionate about teaching. Take her for community - you won't be sorry!
Wow... Just Wow.... Wow as in a GOOD WOW. She is probably the best Nursing Program in all of City Tech. Even when I had problems with another professor she was there to listen to me. Shes hilarious, motivational, and just so darn smart!! I mean she has like 6 degrees! She is so down to earth, humble, and just awesome. The best Professor ever.
Best professor I have ever encounter. Down to earth & helpful in every way. Must take & try to get into her 4 clinical as well (site 13). She will teach you how to accomplish things that you don't even think you are capable of ever doing. These skills that she brings out of you will be helpful through out your entire journey in nursing. Love her!
By far one of the best professors ever. She is very helpful and wants her students to succeed. You need to work for your grade and if you don't, it will show. She is always open to questions and will gladly give her two cents worth as needed. She is fun and serious at the same time. She does not tolerate laziness but will push you to be your best.
Dr. Egues is the best nursing professor at City Tech. She is smart, funny, caring, giving, tough, and wonderful with students. With patients, she is amazing. I learned so much from her, personally and professionally. She is ethical. While her class is no joke, it will take you through your entire career because of the way that she connects it all.
This professor is very knowledgeable, however she requires way too much for the class. The group project was so much work and was 40% of your grade. She had so many parts for the online assignments, which wasn't even averaged into your final grade. The good thing though was that the midterm and final were take-home, but also extremely long.
I personally would not take her again. Her class can be interesting, and even though I got an A, it was ALOT of work. She is not difficult, but her assignments are way too heavy and honestly somewhat pointless. Her online assignments are SUPER long. Text is not necessary but can be helpful. She is not completely horrible, but not a first choice.
Heavy course, and a lot of work, but all of it necessary (if you want to understand what being a public health or community health nurse is about). Regardless, what she teaches, which is always done in a creative way, is important. She's inspirational and brilliant. Best professor in the school, without a doubt.
I had Dr. Egues for HIV/AIDS Advocacy & Care, and I learned so much. Her teaching style is so interesting; she mixes up up-to-date slides that she makes and references, with lectures, videos, photos, and guest speakers. She challenges students to think critically, and really prepares you to be the best nurse possible. She's the best in the program!
Best nursing professor in RN-BS program. I can't tell you how much I learned from her, about my abilities about being a nurse, and with working in communities with people of all backgrounds. She is incredible, truly. She supports and encourages your personal growth and professional best. Any student who has her is really, really fortunate.
Best professor ever! So, so nice, and truly inspirational. No matter when you need help, she's there. I LOVED having her for clinical. She knows so much and is so great with people. And, she's beautiful, too! LOVE LOVE LOVE HER!
Great Professor. Couple of homeworks that u will have to submit in blackboard. Papers that u will have to bring to class. Everything need to be on time. And at the end of this class u will have to do a group presentation. Do ur part and u will get A. Love it!
Dr. Egues is the best that there is! She is inspirational, and puts students' learning first. She really cares about making sure that you understand things, and you become a critical thinker. She puts all of the pieces together in a clear way, using humor sometimes, so that you will see things as a true nurse. Plus, she's warm and approachable.
Dr. Egues should run the entire Nursing department, shes that respected and loved. Shes a student advocate, and an extremely gifted lecturer. She brings professionalism and attention to the college and is well known in her field. Take her whenever you can - you wont be sorry. Plus, shes beautiful!
I can't give a review directed towards the professor herself for the class is mostly self-taught so there's no actual teaching going. However, I can say that she makes herself available to the students if you seek clarification on something you didn't understand. On her exams you need to put on your critical thinking cap, buy one on Amazon.
Let's be clear, NUR1130 is not taught at all. The class is self taught by reading on your own and through your peers. To be honest going to class is a joke because you really do not learn in class. She is available for office hours by appointment however, it will not help you. She also loves to gloat and seems to be jealous of the other 1130 prof.
Professor Egues is the lesser of 2 evils but the outcome is still similar. Overall, the professors for 1130 do not care wether you pass or fail and are trying to weed out the weaker students. throughout the semester we receive emails about things that are due that but not as a reminder the tone is more of threatening nature. Thread lightly
Dr. Egues is an inspirational professor. Students are expected to work and blame her and the other professors in the program when they don't do well. But, she cares, deeply, and is always accessible. Those of us who went to her office hours and met with her learned even more than in the classroom. Nursing is hard! Study like you want it!
This professor is awesome! She really cares about her students, and wants all of them to succeed. I would 100% take her again. She was super helpful! TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HER OFFICE HOURS!!!!! The class is not easy, it's a lot of material, but she'll get you through it!
Dr. Egues really knows her stuff. She will stay hours with students helping them out. Lets be clear - this is a tough program and theres too much information to know. But, she gives great explanations and examples, and provides focus. Do the work! Its not her fault if you dont learn how to learn. Shes really inspirational.
Had Dr. Egues for community clinical. Best clinical of my life! Shes so amazing. She taught us how to be confident, how to communicate and advocate, and how to really think and act like a professional. Any poor reviews of her can only come from students who frankly dont do the work and blame someone else. You wish you could be as great!
Ok, so nursing is HARD and so is her class, but Dr. Egues is amazing. She goes the extra mile, doing all kinds of things to help students. Honestly, most students cant do the work because theyre too overbooked with life, lazy, or just plain dumb. Not the professors fault. Learn how to study. Shes brilliant.
Dont listen to students who perform poorly, because theres no better professor than Egues. The woman is brilliant and deeply cares about getting students to understand material. Honestly, my classmates dont do the work. They think reading is truly studying and have no clue. They arent even prepared for class. Take Egues. Shes great.
Hard course, but she knows her stuff and works hard to help students. She's great.
Dr. Egues is extremely caring, intelligent, warm, and approachable. She is the best professor in the RN-BS program, hands down. It is truly amazing how much she knows about all areas of nursing. Take whatever she's teaching, class or clinical, because she is amazing. I love her!
So Listen up, 1130 just like all NURSING CLASSES is based on tests. Dont matter how great of a student you are in clinical or in the classroom. The only thing that matters is if you can go into the tests and pass them. 74.9 is FAILING dont get it twisted 75.0 and up is passing. Study hard. Do as many practice questions as possible. Its doable !!
NUR 1130 is a hard class. Take advantage of Professor eguess office hours like they really can help you. It could make the difference between passing and failing. Also pay attention in class, read the book, and do lots and lots of practice questions. Reading and memorizing the book wont help you. STUDY SMART NOT HARD and youll pass this class!
ALL nursing courses are hard and based on your exams. But, Dr. Egues is a real student advocate. She cares, and she holds hours long past her office hours to help students study smarter, not harder. If it weren't for sitting with her for hours, I wouldnt have made it. Take her shes excellent! The best.
This professor goes the extra mile for students. She is brilliant, funny, and always available to help. Use her office hours! Nursing is really hard, but she explains things so that they make sense. But, you have to study like she recommends because its the only way youll make it. Wish all professors were like her.
Dr. Egues is brilliant and explains things clearly. She always comes up with ways to help students understand the material, and this course is as hard as it can be. Seriously hard. But, if you really listen, and do the work, and pay attention to the gazillion of things that she gives to make it easier, you will pass. And, you'll know your stuff.
Had Dr. Egues for ARTH2101ID and it was the best class I had in four years at City Tech. She covered art and it's appearance, use, and role in health care. I never had such an inspirational and passionate professor, and it was contagious. The students loved her. Take her Interdisciplinary course; she's amazing. No lie.
I went into the nursing program with a 3.46 and plummeted down after. It is an intensive program and you have to actually work for it. But Dr. Eques goes above and BEYOND, beyond for her students. Informative, as well as extremely enjoyable classes. You can tell she genuinely cares for you to succeed! AMAZING PROFESSOR! Would want her as my 2nd mom
horrible she doesnt know got to teach and just gives us work without any explanation. she also told us that if we talk to her about trying to fix our grade shell just fail us for the semester i handed all my work in on time and she still marked it as missing if i could rate her 0 stars i would
Dr. Egues gives phenomenal lectures and is always accessible for students. Her input is great. Many students don't do well because they don't do the work. They are lazy and take it out on her. She's popular because she gives tons of tools to use to learn. Plus, she doesn't teach 1030, so any reviews of her for that class are just wrong.
Dr. khara is the worstttttt. I literally dropped out of nursing school and got a job at Dunkin Donuts because of Her horrible teaching methods. I suggest not taking her class for so many reasons. Goodluckkkkkkk
Had Dr Egues for NUR 4080. Really, really great course. Set up well, interesting, and she was wonderful to us all during COVID-19. She gave extensions on assignments and was incredibly supportive and caring. Outstanding professor and person. Excellent role model, too.
I didn't really learn anything or get much from this class and the professor didn't make things better her teaching style lacks interest and excitement. I regret coming to this school
Had Professor Egues for community clinical and it was the best clinical I ever had in any nursing program. This professor is brilliant and an exceptional individual. She really is a student advocate, and is wonderful with patients. I learned so much from her and she knows an incredible amount of information across nursing areas. Loved her.
Professor Egues had interesting assignments for the course, and was especially generous during the pandemic. Clear guidelines and syllabus were very detailed which was refreshing during a totally online course. Text needs to be read to do assignments well, and it was very reader friendly and contemporary. Great professor!
Dr. Egues is an outstanding professor and person. She goes the extra mile with case studies, questions, resources, and she's hilarious. For exam 2, she gave us back our own presentation questions, but cheaters were too busy looking up answers so that they bombed. So dumb! The smart students know she's a goldmine of information and caring as hell.
Took HIV/AIDS elective, and it was the best course of the entire nursing program. Dr. Egues had very, very interesting lectures and assignments. I thought that I knew about the subject, but learned so much from the class that I am still so glad I took it. She definitely prepared me to be much better with my future patients. Thank you, Dr. Egues!
NUR4080 was a great class. I really learned about how to best communicate in my personal and professional lives. Dr. Egues had interesting assignments that got me to think about how I approach patients and their families, and even my own peers and other professionals. The course taught me to express myself with confidence as well. Loved the course.
This class is a joke. Second semester is rough but this class does not have to be this difficult if the Professors actually taught instead of making students do presentations with little guidance. If it wasnt for the credit option I would be out the program. Sucks for them I am moving on to third! Horrible class but she is the lesser of two evils.
This was hands-down my favorite class in the RN-BS program. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I learned about communication, even though I've been practicing as a nurse for years. The course was actually really fun, and very interactive even online because Prof. Egues built a community among us. It was a really, really great class! The best!
took Egues for ARTH2101ID. Loved the class. Learned a lot. Lectures were really, really interesting. Gave great amounts of fascinating material. Not boring. Way better than most profs at giving quick and supportive feedback.
She made great PowerPoints for asynchronous class. Very organized on Blackboard. Papers are interesting and engaging. PowerPoints are time-consuming to read. Easy homework. No exams. Only papers (About 4 short papers per semester).
Best class of RN-BS program so far. I thought I knew about hiv/aids but now I really know about it. Her assignments are focused on practical nursing situations. Plus, Professor Egues really gets right back to students and gives on-point feedback. I think everyone should have to take her courses. Take her no matter what she teaches.
Such an inspirational professor. Very relatable and caring. Is a no nonsense person. Highly respected. Highly accredited. Writes for the NCLEX, CDC, id a dr. Very inspiring. Breaks down the most complicated subjects into simpler terms to retain. If you can, make sure to get Dr. Egues!
Awesome professor, get ready to read, answer the e.mails right away . Nice
I wish i can take this professor every semester. She will be your best friend. The way she explains her lectures are so interesting and you feel like you don't want her class to ever end. Extremely inspiring professor and an amazing person. Biggest student advocate. Take this Professor you will not regret it. Alwaysdown to stay after class and help
Professor Egues is an amazing professor. Her class is hard due to the amount of material one has to understand. It is lots of slides per topic but she emphasizes which parts are critical for her exams. Overall the way structure her class is very organized. The only thing, like all nursing classes, studying outside of class hours is very important.
Dr. Egues is an incredible professor who will meet with you to help you get the material. Her lectures are extremely organized and detailed. She knows her stuff and can answer just about any question. Beautiful smile and hilarious personality. Prepare to work hard and listen to her!
She is the better of the two who teach this class. Grades fast and fair with good feedback. The other one is the complete opposite. Her assignments are also not tedious unlike the assignments given by the other professor. She teaches the second half of the course.
Dr. Egues was so incredible as a professor. Her lectures made you not want to miss class. Used real examples, stories, and awesome patient situations to solve, plus graphics and great resources. She stayed after class for anyone. She really cared about students. It was obvious she loved her job, and she was really good at it.
She knows her stuff. Better than the other Professor who also teaches the same class but unfortunately the other is the head of this course so sets the exams & the mode of teaching. This professor understands the topics and would explain when you need help unlike the other one. She one of the few good professors in the department.
After graduating, I know she was the best professor in nursing. No one was as smart or as student focused as she was. Her knowledge was off the charts, and her smile lit up our hearts. She retired early. She will be missed and was really the only reason to go into the program. Shame she left after making such a difference in so many lives. Love!
Prof Egues retired and she was the best! I'm close to graduating and so grateful to have had her. She really cared about students. No one else can explain as well, have better study material or provide guidance like she did. She was always available to students. Plus, she was the funniest, humblest, generous professor, and most beautiful!
