she's so hot! just to see her is worth sitting through the class. explains everything goes over info till u understand. awsome!
Very approchable. Keeps the class lighthearted.
She is a great teacher, very clear and makes class very fun. You will get an A, just go to class, listen, and read book.
She is very nice and will do everything she can to help her students pass. I really do hate science, but she makes it interesting and is the best sciece professor I have had. I recommend taking her class when you do your science requirement.
She's one of the best teacher's I've had. She's clear on what she wants and will go out of her way to explain something to you if you don't understand something. She expects you to ask questions and answer hers though. But overall, shes great!
Easily the best teacher I had in three semesters at West. Awesome lectures, interesting ideas, funny anecdotes. Tests are mostly essay, but she's very clear on what she's looking for. Still has me thinking about some ideas more than a year after I took the class. Overall a great professor.
very nice professor and teaches the course real well.
SHE'S A NICE PROFESSOR. SHE WILL NOT MOVE ON WITH THE LECTURE UNTIL YOU UNDERSTAND THE INFORMATION. IF YOU GO TO CLASS, READ THE BOOK AND LISTEN TO HER LECTURES; YOU WILL PASS THE CLASS.
Very well thought out way of teaching. You can tell she put a lot of effort and planning into the development of the class. Very helpful.
Good prof. Everything is clearly outlined in the syllabus. Work follows the form of the book. Show up, read the book, and take notes and you'll be fine.
I definitely recommend this class to anyone who needs to take Anthropology and thinks they wont enjoy it. Dr. Preziosi is energetic and thoughtful. She gives many opportunities for her students to earn a good grade throughout the course. You wont regret taking her.
Her lectures flow smooth & R super easy 2 grasp- U don't even have to read the book. she breaks a hard thing down & makes it easy. she is really friendly! Gives 2 points per day 4 attend.- but gives a TON of extra pts. on tests so it's impossible to fail them. Easy class 2 pass- she makes it interesting 4 those who aren't 2 start out with!
She's awesome! Very proffessional and extremely nice, maybe too nice. Very thorough.
Extremely nice teacher and funny. She is very clear in her lectures and if you attend every class she will give you an extra 8 points at the end of the semester. She also gives extra credit points on exams
Im so glad I took a class with prof. P. She's so G-O-O-D!! She has so much passion for what she teaches and makes everyone in class interested. She opened a whole new world for me. It's teachers like her that mold better people.
I love her!! She is such a good teacher, clear and fair. She encourages people to learn and such a joy to ave as a professor.
awesome!!
Wonderful teacher! Even if the material doesn't interest you, she keeps you engaged in her lectures. Very clear about what will be covered on the tests.
AWESOME TEACHER. SHE CARES ABOUT HER STUDENTS AND WANTS TO HELP STUDENTS WHO ARE WILLING TO LEARN. SHE IS SMART, ORGANIZED, AND GRADES FAIR. IF YOU DO THE READING, SHE'LL HELP YOU TO GET AN A
I can really say that she is the BEST PROF at West LA. She is what every student needs! Very helpful and inspiring. she is even a fair grader. She is very cool!
One of the very best educators that WLA has to offer.
TOOK FALL ONLINE CLASS. STRAIGHTFORWARD AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND. NOT EASY MATERIAL BUT CLASS IS VERY FAIR.
simply the best teacher at West. So helpful and very sweet.
Took Anthropology 101 online, she is clear, concise and lets you know EXACTLY what to do. There are no tricks, you do the work, you WILL get an A in the class. She is extremely fair and responds quickly to emails. Will cut you some slack the first time you are late on something; DON'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT, she will not do it again. Great Teacher!
Took 8 week Anthro 121. Terrific teacher. Very clear. Very organized. Very fair grading on the discussion points. Lots of reading. Now going to take Anthro 101 (req) from her.
She is a great teacher and very clear. She is very detailed when it comes down to leactures. Reading the textbook and taking notes are a must if you are interested in receiving an A in the class. Overall she is a brilliant professor.
Very organized teacher. The work is hard, but with focus and concentration you will do well. Something about her responses, seemed like she has an attitude. Could be cocky I guess.
Brilliant woman. Took the class online; tests are not timed and can be opened and closed until due date. Discussions are part of the grade and your comments must be thoughtful to receive full credit. Instructor is VERY responsive to your questions. If you do the work, you'll get an A, no problem.
Very clear and professional. I took her online and there was A LOT of homework. More then I could handle. Read the book and you'll do really well. I read the book very little and I still got a C.
Now here's a teacher you'll love to meet. Not only is she a jewel of an instructor in regard to her ability to teach concepts that are difficult to digest in nature, she's got a personality that seems to capture you and an energy that's both serene and addictive. Smiling and laughing becomes contagious, and luckily, so does becoming engaged. = D
She is amazing! Tests aren't timed and she answers any questions you have. She loves her students. About 5 discussions, 4 assignments, and 8 tests. All easy and straight forward. You can work on everything till the deadline. I got an A in anthropology 102 but a B in 101 because I didn't get the book till mid way through.
took online class, one word she is an angel, if you can't pass her class with A you have to be a real dum. she is the best.
She's absolutely adorable. Funny, smart, fair, kind and helpful. She truly cares for her students. If she knows your trying she will do whatever she can to help you along.
If your not into science you may need to read the chapters every other night! I took the online course and she was a lovely professor but the work load was...not a lot but was not little. She has 3 writting assignments that require 3-4 paragraphs each and 7 test that are not timed and you have 2 weeks to work on each. Live by her syllabus!!
You do have to write 3 essays but they are not that bad and tests are multiple choice which for me was a plus. Even though it was a lot of reading overall I'm really happy with this class.
One of the best anthropology instructors. Took anthropology 102 online and it was easy. During the course you must respond to discussion questions, write assignment papers and do weekly untimed tests. The test are not timed, so you can use textbook and modules. I enjoyed taking this class.
I love Preziosi. She's probably my favorite teacher at West. Extremely helpful, kind, passionate and cute! I highly suggest that everybody take her for any anthro course that she teaches...
She's cool. Looads and loads of work for her lab class. I was exhausted after every assignment.
Great Professor. Fun, HOT, great lectures. She keeps it interesting. I love her. But her lab is a monster!
took her anthro 101 online, got a B but could easily been an A if I had done the discussion. Therefore, do the discussions! All quizzes and test are due on the same date which is at the end of the semester so you don't have to rush however, don't wait til the last minute. She's cute and has a bubbly personality. Oh and she loves science. TAKE HER!!
She is the best professor in WLAC. Everyone love her. I like her very much, too.Thank you, Ms.Prexiosi
Excellent teacher. Passionate, empathetic, and extremely helpful.Do the discussions, read, read, read the book and the module(if taking online). I took her Anthro 101 and Anthro 111 classes simlutaneously and struggled, as the information was unfamiliar territory, but I passed both classes. Do the work, and you will be fine.
This professor is amazing! She is very helpful, intelligent, easy to understand, funny, and most of all, she's hot. By the second week, you love her. You want to come to her class. She's very enthusiastic of her subject and that slowly but surely sticks on you.
tests are tricky bc there is a lot of true/false and is based on the textbook, modules, and videos. not much interaction between professor/student. pretty much on your own but everything is clear cut on what she wants
If you plan to sleep through your college courses, please do not take Professor Preziosi's class. She is an excellent professor and does what she is suppose to do, educate. There is no room for games or excuses, and that is what makes her a top-notch educator. Slackers need not apply.
The 8 week Anthropology 102 online is pretty easy as long as you are diligent in your reading. The material is very easy to understand and interesting. There are no paper's to write, but you must write 1 discussion response and reply per week, 8 in total. 1 test per week, 20-40 Q, not timed due at the end of the session; Answers come from the book.
Very straight forward, can be very simple if you do the reading and the exams are open note, which is a no brainer, must be committed for the 8-week online class. She replies to messages very fast and you can submit essays and exams at anytime before 11:59pm of its due date. Great professor and must take for anyone that wants to learn freely.
REALLY GOOD CLASS, IF TAKEN ONLINE, LETS YOU LOOK AT ALL QUIZES AND TEST BEFORE SO YOU CAN FIGURE OUT THE QUESTIONS. MUST GET BOOK. IF YOU READ IT YOU SHOULD PASS. LOVED THIS CLASS
She is probably one of the best instructors I've EVER had. Very clear instructions. She LOVES this subject which makes it even more fun for everyone else. Tests are hard, but she's fair. You can get away with not reading the book, but I would NOT recommend it. She almost made me want to change my major.
The 8 week Anth. 102 is very straight forward. The material is not easy to understand but it’s interesting. There are no paper's to write; though, you must write 1 discussion response and reply per week, 8 in total. 1 test per week, 20-25 Q, not timed but the questions are abstract. No extra credit so score high on tests.
Exams are not posted after having taken them. So she will either tell you to come on campus or call (RIDICULOUS). Test questions are very detailed so you MUST read. Even then a few of the questions are not straightforward. I did well in the class but would not recommend anyone taking this class with this professor.
Doesn't explain grades. I would get points off, but don't know why I was marked down. She keeps sending condescending messages explaining that we have not read the material yet, when the assignment was not due. Her assignments are pretty straightforward and all in the textbook and modules. Sometimes her questions were confusing.
This course was very interesting. Learned about the similarities and differences across various cultures. Obtained a greater awareness of indigenous societies and their plight. Course material not too difficult. Must read each chapter & assigned modules to complete test. One essay due every other week. Must also critique another students essay.
Anth 121-Great instructor who cares. She spent a lot of time discussion different religions for those who are really interested in learning all about the subject. *The tests were very difficult and necessary to pass the class.* Though again, excellent text for anyone really interested in a career involving religion.
Great teacher you have to work hard and do the work but overall the course is very interesting and it gave me a different perspective on how I view things :) I recommend it. I took 8 week class it was hard but jst put effort and work and it won't seem as hard
This professor is a professor, albeit rude and unhelpful. Professor textbook professor. Yes.
One of the most fascination classes I have taken! Professor Preziosi is an excellent instructor and is very clear when it comes to the course. Her tests and assignments are pretty easy but you WILL need the book!!!
Don't take this class if you can't set aside at least 3 hours a week (if you're a slow worker). You have to write 4 posts a week and do the quizzes every week, sometimes two a week at the end. It's straightforward as everything is out of the book. Preziosi's nice; I had to waitlist her both times and I got in, and she responds to emails fast.
Professor Preziosi was great. She helped me add her class after it was over capacitated, which not many professors allow. I took the lecture & lab online, received a B in both. The work was very straight forward. You MUST read to know how to correctly answer the assignments. I would've received As if I hadn't slacked off on the reading. RECOMMENDED
Nice person but I personally did not enjoy her as a teacher. No type of power point, study guide, and was off topic a lot. As enthusiastic as she was, she actually made this subject very boring for me. Some of us learn differently so I wouldn't take a class with her ever again.
I learned a lot, but the online course I took was condensed so it required discipline not to fall behind. It also translated into 2 writing assignments and 2 quizzes weekly which is a lot. It's a little confusing to start, but clear and fair once you figure it out. Recommended. Asks great questions to get you thinking about things differently.
Dr. Preziosi is the best professor I've had yet. She loves her subject and it shows! She wants you to do well in the class, and her lectures are easy to follow. If you show up to class and do the homework, you will be fine. She's also great at reviewing and loves answering all questions, even ones that seem a little off the wall. TAKE THIS CLASS
This professor is a pain in the butt!! Trust and believe you will be working for your grade. I still got an A for the class but you should be expecting an email a night before your homework is due to remind u that u r late and she will drop u if you don't turn in your work on the next day. Her tests r hard but open book. Alot of work!
The online class was pretty straight forward. Hard tests but it's open book. Gives a 20 points extra credit assignment.
I can not say her name for crud, but she was an awesome professor. I was sweating bullets about taking anthropology. I totally take another of her classes, plus she was easy on the eyes.
Dr. Preziosi is absolutely adorable. She obviously loves anthropology and really works hard to make the material as understandable as possible. That said, the course is thorough, so reading the textbook is absolutely required. Her lectures are funny and informative, and I aced the class easily despite the fact that science is not my strong suit.
Great teacher! I took 101 & 111 concurrently & passed both with an A.
I truly suggest taking anthropology courses with this professor. You definitely need your book to pass the class. The quizzes and tests aren't too difficult IF you read. I haven't had to ask for help via email but I always see she is online.
I took this class online and liked it. There are three Discussions, two essays each. There is a Quiz for every chapter you read. The tests are pretty hard, but If you read the book, read the modules, and do the essays you'll do fine in this class. Follow The Syllabus so you will know when assignments are due. She's great, thanks Professor Preziosi!
An amazing teacher and very passionate
She was one of the better instructors I had. I was expecting this class to be a bit more difficult, but she made it so easy and kinda fun to go to clas. Just do your homework and make sure you attend class, if you do mediocre on the test you should still pass. Just make sure you at least do the homework and attend every class, you'll be straight..
If you study you will pass. This teacher is pretty straight forward, tells you exactly what you need to study in order to pass. She seems to care about you passing since she gives reminders to turn in work. She also gives one extra credit assignment which I thought was nice. Her deadlines aren't crazy either, she gives enough time.
has very clear instructions and an understandable syllabus. She gives you chapter(s) to read and than test you on that chapter, allowing open book. There are about 6 essays (3 paragraphs at 6 sentences each paragraph) throughout the course that are easy to write and properly correlate with what you read in the chapters. Really enjoyed class! l
Patient in answering questions and clear syllabus. Very friendly :)
Preziosi is one of my all time favorites! She makes the information come to life! Her lectures are so interesting and she has great energy. She loves what she does and it pours out. She is also an amazing individual. I wish I could have just talked to her about life! Everyone should take this class if you need to take a science. The best!
Anth121 was really, really difficult. This was my first B I got in college. Although she rated well, I had a hard time with this course. The articles are very interesting and informative but also hard to comprehend. The most frustrating part was, my grade didn't truly represent how hard I worked. I strongly discourage taking this course.
Professor Preziosi is maybe the coolest Professor at WLAC. Her lectures are so interesting and it's all because of her. She's such a character and has an open mind so sometimes you may ask something and she will really stop and think to try and understand where you are coming from. She also really cares about her students. TAKE HER!!!!!!
If you study, you will get an A.
Took the class in 8 weeks. Two tests every week with a discussion. You need to write a solid discussion and also reply. Need citation and there is a legit grading rubric. 10 point E.C opportunity. You need to read the book or have it. I enjoyed it!
To finish my Science part as my GE I try Bio 03, Anatomy 01, and end up dropping. But her Anthropology class is the best one ,compare to other colleges Anthropology online classes. She will you tell, what needs to be done, and always gives clear instructions. I took this class as late starting class.I got A, finish the task ASAP. You will be GOOD!
Amazing teacher! Get ready to take your reading and writing skills to the next level. Do not try to just get by in Dr. Preziosi's class. It will not work. If you are interested in critical thinking take her!
get ready to read. you have to work hard for your A. final is 10 essay questions and it's the worst part. I don't recommend her. she is a tough grader.
I took anthropology, complete new subject to me. The modules were good, video links to watch. Studied and turned in discussions. Work was challenging but good to do. The syllabus is clear and work is clear. I recommend her and would absolutely take her again. Just stay on top of your assignments and reading.
What you have to do to succeed is laid out really clearly. The one time I did contact her she was very courteous and helpful. The class was 8 weeks long and we had about 2-3 assignments a week. It mostly consisted of discussion posts and short answer responses in multiple choice tests. You really have to actively read the text. Great professor!
Professor Preziosi is by far the most entertaining professor I have ever had. The class was very difficult for me and I still got an A. She made the class understandable and broke things down in such a memorable way. Her personality is what made the class. Even if you don't like anthropology, take her! And the tests aren't terrible.
Loved taking Dr. Preziosi's class! She is by far the only teacher I will forever recommend to any student thinking about taking an Anthropology course. She keeps you interested in the lectures, she will always makes time to answer your questions and her tests are lecture/reading based. Like any other class, put the effort in and get a good grade!
I'm an A, sometimes B student. This class is super confusing. She doesn't release answers to wrong questions so you basically don't know if you were right or right wrong, nor did you learn from the question. This professor is truly hard, be careful.
NO, no no! Do not take this class online. Super-hard, why suffer?
Dr. Preziosi is phenomenal! Her online classes are well organized and assignments are not difficult if you follow the rubric. She is quick to respond to all messages and questions. If you do the work, there is no way to get anything lower than an A. Insightful discussions are utilized and you can really learn a lot! Love, love, love her!
I read good things about the professor and attempted to take her online Anthro 102 class. She's rude and doesn't respond to emails, I would never recommend her to anyone. Horrible professor!!!
I enjoyed this class! I always felt the "presence" of my professor next to me even though I'd never seen her!The excellently organized program! Writing the essays and answers to classmates' essays was a great idea! It seems to me that I visited the past and saw my ancestors! Thank you, Professor! Definitely, I'll take some more Anthropology class!
She makes the class way more difficult than it has to be. I won't be taking any classes with her again.
I took this class online for 8 weeks. This class was very textbook heavy, you must read the book to pass, you need the book for biweekly discussions and weekly test. she has a very clear grading criteria so she is very strict on turning assignments on time, late work is not accepted. Yes she does give extra credit if you do all of your work.
Lectures were always interesting, but her exams were extremely difficult. I made sure to read the chapters and study as much as possible for my exams, but I failed every single one! I was fortunate enough to receive an "A" for my grade on all of my writing assignments. I ultimately ended up with a "C" as my final grade as a result.
Extremely difficult professor who is not approachable. If you take this class make sure that it is the only class you take for your will need the time and energy. During 90% of the classes we watched videos which I do not really care for since it is my expectation to learn from a "live" person not to watch videos (I can do that on my own time).
she was so hard and when she was done with the lecture I was still unclear about the sunject. She very hard.
Dude, this lady talks like shes racing with someone. She talks so fast, you cant keep up with her and she doesnt make sure you understand, you have to go by her pace and her pace is like, one right after the other or youre gonna fail.
Her class is composed of like 5 or 6 formal essays that have to be written in a way that she deems appropriate. Which is why I didn't do well on the 1st essay but got my grade back up after getting criticism. w/out the extra credit assignments I prob would have not gotten an A. My advice is do EXACTLY what she wants you to, nothing more nor less.
DON'T TAKE HER! DON'T TAKE HER!! She is horrible!! I took her online class and it is extremely hard, I am an A student but this teacher just makes everything so complicated!! Too many assignments, quizzes every week and exams every other week(So some weeks you will have an exam and a quiz and an assignment) The material is very dense! Just avoid!
You won't pass this class without the required textbook. Each chapter lasts for two weeks, with one discussion due the first week and the test due the second. You need to be concise and descriptive with your answering because she looks for the little things when grading. There will be a research project, be sure to have a good topic for research.
I took this class in Summer of 2021, To be honest Anthropology is not a big favorite of mine. I just took it for a requirement to transfer. If you are planning to take her class, always do the work and even do the extra credit and then you'll pass. Also she doesn't grade stuff right away .
Professor Preziosi is amazing! Generous grader. Will sent out personal reminders if an assignment isn't completed. There is lots of reading but she gives you enough time to complete both your readings and assignments. Four discussions. Quizzes are weekly and she encourages you to use the book if needed. No midterm or Final.
Great choice. I am taking her in the eight week session and so far it is easy. All the assignments are open day 1. 12 quizes super easy. 6 discussions that you need to cite the book but they are not too hard. Two slightly longer writing assignments. That's it! You could finish the whole class in two weeks and easily get an A. Stand by on grading
he is the most compassionate teacher and interested in his students that I have ever met, always message you when you missed something and give you time to resubmitted. he is amazing
What an excellent teacher! Deep knowledge of her subject. Clear directions and expectations. Super-caring. All lessons and assignments open since day 1. Online book (free) very well written, with clear explanations. Dr. Preziosi will make you love Anthropology.
amazing teacher but get ready to get a lot of homework.
So she was genuinely a great professor. I couldn't select it in the "tags" (since the max is 3), but she also gives AMAZING feedback, I wouldn't say "lots of homework," but a decent amount; as long as you follow the rubric, and do as it says, then boom, you'll get full marks. Always ready to help, and she's super kind, so I 100% recommend her.
The hard thing about this class is the reading; there is LOTS of reading BUT, if you ever have any questions, need more time for an assignment, possible extra credit, she does give you options and is genuinely a caring professor and wants you to succeed, but the grading is based of a few things so do those READ THE MATERIAL, and defo take her class
I took Professor Preziosi for the summer and at 1st I wasn't to sure about her class only because I didn't understand the course. But I didn't drop her I had faith in myself to pass and I did with an A. I highly recommend purchasing the book. Her quizzes are open book as well. Caring professor Highly recommend her
Tough grader, but the lectures are engaging. Doing the readings and using unstuck AI for study prep really helped. Attendance is a must, but the workload is manageable if you stay on top of it.
Amazing instructor! I enjoyed her class!
I didn't select her but rather the original professor backed out of the course. She is a tough grader and you must read ALL of the module pages for her criteria listed for the weekly discussions, which heavily counts towards your grade. Lots of research, outside sources, APA references, and module or chapter references required. Would not recommend
This professor is really good at knowing her material, however can be a tough grader. The work load is a lot if you do the 8 week course, about 2 20 question quizzes and at least a discussion post every week. I feel if you time yourself properly it's manageable, but you do need to stay on top of your work especially if you're wanting recieve an A.
