Professor Cruzado was a great professor for a beginning coder like me. Just beware, if you are starting off with no coding experience coming into any ENGR102 class, I would recommend that you study and practice learning Python before you take this course. Professor Cruzado was very helpful in his office hours, especially for exam reviews.
He is a very nice teacher and is always willing to help. He has lectures that are quite good but I didn't really pay attention to much because I was very tired. That being said you can do this class by yourself with not much help from the teacher. Teacher is very understanding though.
The prof doesn't really teach that effectively. He's very student orientated and if you ask for help, he won't leave until you understand it. There's a quiz (normal and code writing) in every class so you can't miss any days. The class was easy for me since I've taken compsci in hs but would be challenging for those who never coded. Labs and TB hw.
The class is really difficult, but professor Cruzado is a great professor who really seems to care for his students and wants as many to pass as possible.
Lectures definitely go through all the information needed, although they start feeling repetitive at times which can make you lose focus. Assigns a lot of homework compared to other professors, which starts feeling tedious rather than helpful. Quizzes end almost every class, some of which don't offer partial credit for getting most of the answers.
Dr. Cruzado is very caring and wants all his students to succeed. He had weekly quizzes which most other professors didn't; however, they were helpful in deciding how you're doing in the concept and whether you should practice it more. His reviews were very helpful and his always willing to clarify any doubts you have regardless how long it takes.
ENGR 102 is a tough course for a first-time coder, but Dr. Cruzado is a great prof. He cares about his students and explains topics well in lecture. Lots of weekly lab assignments and has weekly quizzes (that are harder than other prof's), but they are not graded very harshly. Attend class and office hours with him or the TA's and you'll be fine.
Professor Cruzado does a good job preparing students for the ENGR102 exams, his quizzes might be a little overwhelming and difficult, but is it with good intention to prepare for the exams. He is also willing to meet, help with anything, and give back extra points. His lectures might be fast, but he helps as much as he possibly can over concepts.
Aitor Cruzado was one of my favorite professors I've ever taking, with a great personality and great communication with his students. He also fostered a great learning environment. The only things I would advice is that he has a strong accent can be hard to understand at times and his quizzes can get challenging. Other than that: 10/10
Professor Aitor Garcia is my favorite professor I have had during my freshman year. My team and I absolutely loved him. He was a funny guy and he was very helpful when we asked for help with our code. Engineering 102 is a difficult class, that's just how it is, but he made it a much better class than I could've ever expected.
He cares a lot about his students, but he has a very heavy accent, so it is hard to understand him. He helps students, but you have to be able to understand what he's saying. Exams are not curved and there is no extra credit. Twice as many quizzes as all other ENGR 102 classes and it's the only class with long coding quizzes-hurts your grade a lot.
Professor Cruzado was a great! He really cares about his students and gave us opportunities to get extra credit. He would also stay for longer after class to help students. He made the class fun, engaging, and easy to learn. His quizzes prepared me well for the exams.
Goated class because quizzes are difficult but that makes exams easy
Heading into this course, I had zero coding experience. Dr. Cruzado was a great professor for this course. Although he does have a slight accent, you will get used to it in the first couple of lectures. He actually cares for the students success as he will help at any time. I recommend this professor to anyone that has the option of choosing him.
Professor Garcia's lectures are very informational when it comes to teaching the aspects of coding. He uses helpful power points to go over what is needed to accomplish the code. The professor is very well at answering all kinds of questions and great at explaining and helping you think through tough problems.
Dr. Cruzado is the best prof I've ever had. Before exams he provides ample studying material and he is always willing to help his students on labs assignments if they have any questions. Also, you take 2 quizzes per week (as opposed to 1) but it helps you do good on the exam. If you are willing to put in some work, you will do will in this class.
Dr. Cruzado was a great professor. Very well-rounded and taught very well. Although it was hard to understand sometimes given the accent, it didn't fail me to learn about python to its fullest extent. You could really tell that he put in effort in his class and actually knew the material, rather than just reading off the slides.
Professor Cruzado is one of the best professors I've had. The class is difficult but he really cares about his students understanding and helps. I really liked Professor Cruzado's class and hope I can have him again in the future.
The lecture Professor Cruzado gave were a little long and the workload was quite a bit in comparison to the other Engr 102 professors. However, it works out in the long run because it's more out of class assignments versus in class assignments that should make your final average higher. He also does help outside of class if needed.
Professor Cruzado is a good professor. This class will be difficult if you have no coding experience. He is willing to help students. Quizzes are not too bad for the most part. Be sure you are familiar with all the concepts. The final exam is not comprehensive.
Best professor at Texas A&M. class is really easy if you actually try. while the in class quizzes seem hard, there actually graded very leniently and are good preparation for the final exam. Overall a great professor. I wish he would teach the upper level ENGR classes.
Great professor who obviously cares for his students. The class is quite difficult, and quizzes are different from the lecture notes and zybook assignments and are quite harder. Dr Cruzado tries his best to help students pass by giving extra credit to those who show up during lecture and helping with code during class time.
Dr. aitor is an exceptional educator His passion for his subject matter is evident in every class, and he has a talent for breaking down complex concepts into easy-to-understand terms. Additionally, he is always willing to help students, whether that means answering questions in class, offering extra office hours
This is my second time taking the course. Having Professor Cruzado as a professor the second time around was good. I would not recommend him to someone who has no background knowledge in coding. Toward the end of the course, he gives out a lot of bonuses and extra credit on assignments and has been lenient with due dates.
Dr. Garcia is a very passionate and caring professor who is always more than willing to help students. He explain concepts to students by breaking them down into bite-size pieces, thoroughly. He is easy to approach, with a sunny disposition and enjoys participation, although it may be slightly difficult to understand his lectures due to his accent.
He is an amazing professor with decent grading criteria. 102 is a difficult class but Professor Aitor makes it fun and is very helpful outside of class. Highly recommend for 102 or any other coding classes you might have to take. Exam 1 is hard and exam 2 is impossible but thats the way it is.
Great guy, even better professor.
His Spanish accent can be a little tough at first, but he is a good teacher and knows the class well. He uses his RATs as an easy way to get 100's and boost your grade as long as you attend class. He is very helpful in class and is good at making you figure out issues while also guiding you.His PowerPoints are amazing for studying and understanding
Dr Cruzado is very knowledgeable. He is available outside of class for questions. He wants his students to be successful in his class. I recommend him highly
Professor Cruzado is GREAT!! His accent is something to get used to, but overall, an amazing lecturer and goes into deeper detail about topics to make sure you understand. Accessible outside of class and is always willing to help, also very straight-forward in his responses and encourages participation. Very funny prof and makes it fun, take him!!
Professor Cruzado was always ready to help and even stayed beyond office hours when it came to it. Very generous with extra credit and lenient when it comes to assignments and homework.
ENGR 102 is a tough class in general, but he really wants you to succeed. As long as you show up to lectures and do homework you should be good. Cruzado's office hours are really helpful and he works one on one with you. He offers plenty of opportunities for extra points on assignments as long as yo are participating and actively seeking out help.
Since I failed ENGR 102 last semester, I was required to take it again in order to receive credit for the course. I had Professor Cruzado last semester, and again this semester, and I enjoyed his lectures equally for both semesters. Although the course-load was difficult, he made lectures interesting and enjoyable. I wish him the best of luck.
Tough exams, large work load, and a lot of material. Prof helps his students & their grades. Has accent but not a problem. Good teacher and great at explaining individual questions. He cares about his students and is a nice and fun guy. Tough class but I definitely recommend this professor.
He is very understanding and helpful. He will put in the effort for you if you put in the effort to communicate with him.
This was my first ever programming class, I had no prior coding experience besides the mandatory coding assignments for the engineering math classes. Dr.Cruzado was really engaging and was very helpful. He was able to help go over missed questions and quizzes and made sure to be available.
For a class with a huge learning curve such as ENGR 102, Prof. Cruzado made sure that we all had the opportunity to succeed if that meant extra credit or extensive reviews before finals. The only thing that is expected of you is to try, and you will do fine in this class.
If you are really good at Python coding then an A is easily achievable. There are a lot of assignments but that helps even out the Exams which are pretty difficult. Staying on top of the homework really helps to understand the concepts and apply them to the labs and team project.
One of the best 102 profs you can get, as long as you show up to class and do the labs you will pass
honestly, hes amazing. his accent makes it a little hard to understand his lecture sometimes, but he really works with you one on one if you need the help!
He is an amazing proff. He teaches well and makes the class fun. I enjoyed having him a lot :)
Gives a lot of extra credit at the end of course, amazing explaining in depth if you ask him, and super accessible after class.
This professor is worth taking. Attending every class is useful and you need to practice a lot of time coding outside of the class to get a good understanding. The class is hard if you have no coding experience but this prof helps a lot in office hours and responds to emails fast. I highly recommend!
I overall really enjoyed hits class, to anyone who is taking him you will enjoy his class.
He's always willing to help and answer any question. Always offer extra credit to help students boost their overall grade.
Take him if he is doing it next semester he would probably be the best not only that he will help guide you if need help. He also gives a lot of extra credit and don't worry if you mess up on a assignment he will tell you to that you have another chance do it. Also do the Zybooks chapter they are really good points and help for the final.
Professor Cruzado is an incredible professor. He cares about his students very much and wants them all to succeed. He is very approachable and always willing to help in and out of his office hours. Definitely register for his classes!
He is the best 102 professor our there. He has a bit of a Spanish accent, but it is super clear. He was always open to help us.
He is an extremely helpful professor. He gives out a lot of extra credit throughout the semester and cares about his students. He is accessible outside of class and wants his students to succeed. This class is hard as it is but with his quizzes and reviews he helps you out the best he can.
First time taking eng 102 was great because of prof Aitor! He is very caring and helpful towards his students. He just creates a positive learning environment. He gives extra credit and does group projects which really boosts your grades. Show up at his lectures and you'll be good. His office hours are also very helpful for exams.
A great prof for this course. Very understanding and very helpful throughout the entire sem. His office hours are available extensively which are very helpful. His course is very credit friendly and scoring with just about enough work. Would definitely take him again!
He is a great professor for this course. He tries really hard to make sure everyone fully understand the concepts and what is expected of them on tests and quizzes. He had one of the highest averages in this class. There are a lot of assignments, but they are very doable if you keep ahead of it. If you pay attention in lectures, you will get the A.
Went into freshman year with no coding experience whatsoever but was successful in this class. Cruzado cares about his students and his lectures and examples are very useful. Doing the Zybook assignments before the lecture will help a ton, and always attend class. You will be in a group for the labs the whole semester, so try to get a good group!
I came in with little to no experience coding. I was extremely nervous for this course, and Professor Cruzado was extremely passionate and helpful in his lectures. He made learning code stress free, and I was very grateful to have him as a freshman. He is pretty flexible with grading quizzes, and he gives a reasonable amount of points for effort.
I ABSOLUTELY love Professor Aitor. He is the most caring teacher I have ever taken and is extremely helpful when it comes to any questions. He is super understanding when you have an issue and his office hours are also very helpful! He makes a hard class easier because of how he ACTUALLY teaches the material. Would rate 100/5 if possible.
Dr. Cruzado is amazing, I will not lie. Accent may be a bit hard to understand, but he really wants you to succeed. Highly recommend him to anyone wanting to take ENGR 102.
This guy is great, he was super helpful on all of the assignments and even on quizzes he would help you. He really wants every student to get an A in the class.
This course can be challenging for those who didn't take Computer Science in high school, but Dr. Cruzado does a great job explaining concepts and is always willing to help. His lectures are very thorough and well-taught. Dr. Cruzado is a great professor, but you may be challenged as the course is difficult.
This class is definitely challenging if you get behind, but Cruzado and the TA's are always willing to help out. He always gives you multiple opportunities to improve on assignments, gives tons of resources to practice for the exams, and is also very diligent in letting you know what you need to study. Pretty lax with (most) deadlines too!
Great professor and great TA's. The class is almost all coding and lectures were informative and the notes were all posted on canvas to be made available to look at to review for exam's. There was a ton of material posted before exams whether it be practice exams or slideshows that were put together for the exam's. Ask for help!!!
Professor Cruzado is an incredible teacher and is truly passionate about what he teaches. He is super understanding and, I believe, wants every single student to pass his class. His accent may throw you off at first but all you have to do is pay attention and everything will make sense.
Dr. Cruzado is amazing! I cannot recommend him enough for ENGR 102. He is incredibly kind and is actively rooting for your success in his class. Definitely ask for help if you are confused. He and the PTs have been super helpful. The class itself is largely lab work, individual and group. Try to keep up as they are weekly but definitely doable!
The teacher explained the code as best he could but this was more of an issue with what the course covered rather than how it was taught. Coding was difficult at first then became easier, then it became way harder again.
Somewhat heavy Spanish accent, so it can be difficult to understand at times. But as long as you're engaged it is not a problem. He is an amazing professor who cares about what he teaches. ENGR102 is not really a class you get to pick your professor in, but if your get Dr. Cruzado you are in good hands. Just do the work and don't cheat, easy A or B
As somebody who's already quite familiar with Python, Dr. Cruzado teaches a great Python class and is clearly passionate about his profession. Every topic was explained clearly with examples given during class in Spyder and in the slideshows. Homework is graded automatically, but quizzes have a pretty long turnaround. Overall, a great class!
Cruzado is very passionate about his profession and fosters an encouraging learning environment. He does have an accent, but the attention the lectures required is enough to understand. Even knowing nothing about python coming in, I have been able to succeed in this course.
Professor Cruzado is great and always gives his lectures with enthusiasm which helps keeps students engaged. He makes his criteria for assignments very clear and straightforward and is always very helpful in and out of the classroom
Lots of group projects and group collaboration on labs and assignments. Extremely passionate and informative lecturer! Dr. Cruzado is extremely helpful and will always try his best for you to improve and learn. He will actively give you every chance you can to get an A. TA's are very helpful and host help sessions often. Would definitely take again
Professor Cruzado did an excellent job lecturing and breaking down the concepts in ENGR 102. He has two quizzes per week (one per class) but the first one is given right after lecture and has two attempts (one alone and one with group). The second quiz is usually more challenging as it is an open-ended coding prompt that prepares you for the exams.
awesome prof. gives two quizzes per week but the first is given after lecture and the second is an open-ended coding quiz that prepares you well for the exam. would definitely take again if possible for 216
Absolutely loved this professor. I will say if you have never coded before this class it's going to be a little challenging but you're not alone and I recommend going to office hours! I went to office hours almost every week to finish weekly individual assignments and he would extend his office hours if had the personal time to do so.
Dr.Cruzado is an amazing professor! Very kind and always there willing to help! Lecture is clear and detailed, although he has some Spanish accent but it's not hard to understand. Highly recommend taking him!
Cruzado has a very strong spanish accent which was cause for worry during first lecture but after that the accent was easy to understand. There is a lot of work for this class especially if you end up in a bad group for group projects but that isnt his fault but the engineering departments and your teammates. He truly is one of the best profs!
He is the best possible prof for this class. He has an accent but after the first couple classes you get used to it and it is no biggie. He truly starts from the ground up which was perfect for someone who barely knew what coding was. He is also very forgiving and take advantage of every opportunity for extra points. The class is still hard.
It is no joke that this course is difficult but Cruzado starts teaching with the basics and builds up from there. While there is a pretty big workload, it helps you understand the course content. I would absolutely recommend him, especially if you are new to coding.
Professor Cruzado is very enthusiastic when giving lectures which helps keeps students engaged. He provides lots of opportunity to keep a good grade and success in his class and it is up to students as to how much they take advantage of it.
Highly recommend for first time coding students!
Great professor, shows he cares and tries to ensure you have the opportunity to make the highest grade possible
Has a little bit of an accent, but the way he explains concepts compensates. Requires Zybooks readings as a part of the lab portion of your average, but it's 3 pretty easy 100%. Gives great feedback for coding labs. If you put in the work and take responsibility for your team labs instead of throwing it on your teammates you'll succeed.
He is a really good professor if you get past his accent. I can't be too sure, since I luckily knew of python beforehand, but I think he is very accessible outside of class. Plus during lab time, he does his best to help you based on what you need. 10/10 very nice guy.
Aitor is passionate about what he is teaching and the lectures are fantastic. He is also really funny for always using his name in any coding example.
Aitor is really passionate about what he's teaching which makes the lectures amazing. He is also really funny and always uses is name for any coding example.
Professor Cruzado is a very good ENGR102 professor. He's generous with grading FRQs on quizzes or exams if you ask him, and with turning in labs slightly late. But, python overall isn't easy for most people, so effort IS needed, but his lectures/canvas are very organized. 2 days/week, lecture + easy RAT quiz on 1st day, work day + quiz on 2nd day.
He is a super smart and great guy, and he's always willing to help on your code. I didn't know any python before this course, however by the end I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on the concepts covered. At first the class is super easy, but towards the end of the semester some of the concepts become much more difficult.
Dr. Cruzado is an amazing guy and gives a lot of opportunities to improve your coding skills. The lectures can get long but it's only once a week. It's for sure a difficult class if you don't like or understand coding. Stay on top of ZyBooks and the labs, attend office hours and use the TA's if you struggle at all and you'll succeed in the class.
Professor Cruzado was very helpful and clearly wants his students to succeed in his class. He is also very funny and obviously has a good heart. 10/10
Aitor Cruzado was an amazing professor. He taught the material very well and was helpful outside of class if I had trouble with the coding assignments. I would defeatedly recommend him as a professor to incoming freshman because he was one of the best professors compared to the others.
He is a pretty chill professor and is available in class and office hours for help. He is clear in what he expects in the assignments, exams are hard but overall a good class and instructor
He is a chill professor and is willing to help you just have to ask in class or go to office hours. The quizzes and exams can be hard but overall a good class and excellent professor.
He is so so so so very nice, my best professor all semester. I took him for ENGR 102 and he is always ready to answer any doubts you may have and work problems out with you. He has a somewhat thick accent but I think that's a very minor flaw, you can still understand his lectures.
Dr. Cruzado was an excellent professor. The class can be difficult if you have no prior coding experience, but he was an extremely caring professor and cared about the success of his students. His lectures can be a bit long, but this class has a lot of material that needed to be covered. Attendance is not mandatory but there are normally quizzes.
Professor Cruzado is a great professor. His lectures can be difficult to understand sometimes due to his accent, but he is willing to help with assignments and gives lots of partial and extra credit. He really wants his students to succeed. Professor Cruzado does use an online resource for assignments, and those can be moderately annoying.
Aitor is a great professor. He uses a grading scale that seems more completion and effort oriented and is geared to help incoming freshman do well if they put in the effort.
Dr. Cruzado is an amazing professor, and I would highly recommend any incoming engineering students to take his class. I have heard horror stories from a lot of my friends in engineering who had a different professor, and it honestly just made me feel really lucky to be taking his class. Be sure to be make friends with your groupmates.
Overall good professor, very understanding of circumstances that hinder class attendance. Expect to work on homework a good amount a week outside of class.
Professor Garcia is a solid professor and is very willing to help out his students. As he teaches new concepts, he'll walk the class through examples of those concepts to help digest them. Quizzes focus more on written programming problems than multiple choice questions. The quizzes that do focus on MCQs never felt like they were overly technical.
Professor Cruzado was able to use the curriculum well to teach us students in a linear fashion the basic coding skills we needed in order to build an understanding required for harder sections of instruction later in the course. He did a good job being able to meet students who were struggling as long as they came to him for help. Great professor.
The professor is approachable, open to all questions and help, and will give advice and feedback to help fellow students. The lectures were great with live examples of how it works and functions, also gave outside help either scheduled or during office hours.
Great professor, easily approachable, and open to all questions and concerns. Will give advice and guidance for any trouble a student is receiving.
He is a great teacher, the labs are difficult but there are many resources to help. I highly recommend!
This professor can explain how to code in python well and was teaching the course commands in a manner that was fairly easy to understand. The only issue was that the course limited his teaching ability on how to utilize those commands within the homework's and group assignments which can create issues for intro people into coding.
I loved him, he was always ready to help everyone during class and he cares about his students. TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!
Class was fine I just had trouble coding
hes a great teacher and helps a lot when you need him. Very helpful during office hours.
Outstanding professor, take him if you have the option.
He's him, take him. No questions asked. Trust
I enjoy his teaching and energy. He was also very patience with each student when ever asked any questions. I love this professor!
Lots of little homework assignments and quite a lot of quizzes but he wants to help you understand the material. The textbook is an online one that is also the homework assignments.
Great to take at 8am, he makes it very hard to fall asleep with how engaging he is.
Incredibly helpful professor. He genuinely cares if you pass the class and takes the time to make sure everyone in the class understands the topic at the moment. His syllabus is built in a way that it allows for the students to do well in the class. I would take him again if given the opportunity.
Great Teacher Take him!!
currently have an A, this is the best professor on campus 100%. He is the most caring and knowledgeable teacher and if you are looking to take any of his classes, DO IT! I have only taken ENGR 102 with him and already know he is the best.
Make sure you coordinate with your fellow group members, because projects can be hard if not. Don't forget to do zybooks homework. If you do all the labs you should be mostly prepared for things, but watch out for gotchas on RATs.
Not a good professor at all. Doesn't explain code very well and has heavy accent and is never formats his course well.
Very helpful and wants to make sure everyone understands a concept. He makes sure the class is prepared for what to expect on the exam.
Professor Garcia was great, take him if you want a caring professor who will go above and beyond to make sure you understand what he is lecturing.
Great teacher! Whether you having some coding knowledge or not, his lectures and guidance is truly helpful. Would recommend 100%
Dr CG is amazing. I was scared to take this coding class, but after taking it I may even declare a compsci minor. He is very helpful and understanding and will not hesitate to explain something. His accent can be a bit of a problem, but other than that, I would take him again without thinking about it.
Loved this class. Professor is very nice and makes sure you understand the concepts. The hardest part of this class are the last sections, so practicing on your own is very much needed. He understands that his course is hard and makes it as easy as possible to understand. Would definitely take this class again if I had to. Recommend this professor.
Great professor! Having some coding knowledge would be a great help but if not his lectures and guidance are extremely helpful. Would recommend you take him if you can.
Cruzado is very understanding and is not out to fail you. He wants you to pass, and if you fail this course with him as your professor you most likely deserved it.
As a professor, he's great. He was willing to take his time to figure out bugs for every student. The class does have a lot of work. When I took this class, I was already in my third year as a Computer Science student and I still had to spend around 2 to 3 hours a week on this class. He also gives you multiple chances on some quizzes.
Pros: -Super passionate man -tries to help students as much as possible -tons of extra credit opportunities -helps so much during office hours and really makes sure you understand the material Cons: -Evaluations and tests are extremely difficult, he actually tests your knowledge with nitty gritty details -His accent is a bit thick -lots of work
Awesome professor with lots of curve points, he has so much homework and group projects!
Dr. Cruzado is one of the best professors here at A&M. TAKE HIM!!! He is so helpful in office hours, before and after class and email. He truly wants whats best for his students. The material can be challenging but he does his best to explain and help anyone that is struggling. again TAKE HIM!!
Dr. Cruzado is the GOAT. 102 is a very tough class, especially if you have never coded before. He is very kind and will allow you to work for your grade. You will get out of the class what you put in. Office hours are most likely necessary for the second half of the semester, but they will pay off. Just put the work in and you will succeed.
Professor Cruzado is very passionate about his profession and genuinely cares about the success of his students. He is always willing to help students no matter what and he takes it upon himself to stay engaged with his students throughout the semester. He shows up with a great attitude and works hard to make classes less scarier than they seem.
Mr. Cruzado was extremely helpful in his office hours. He never makes you feel less than and helps with any questions you may have. This course is very difficult and has a very large work load. His lectures are amazing and he will do examples that will help the lecture make more sense. I would recommend taking his class!
Cruzado was my second Professor for ENGR102. I have to say He is a fabulous professor. While his classes are lecture heavy with a quiz always at the end, Cruzado takes his time to make sure the topic being discussed is truly understood by the whole class. He cares about general understanding and will work with you to get there.
Definitely a weed-out class but honestly as long as you do the assignments even with horrible exam grades you can pass the class. Go to office hours he's really helpful there and do some learning on your own time if you can.
He's understanding of time and will push back assignments if your class gets behind. He does well in explaining questions on class work or quizzes, and he won't ever make you feel dumb for asking. The course is hard but Professor Cruzado will take the time to make sure you understand the content. I would definitely recommend taking this professor!
Professor Cruzado was much better than my previous one, he graded fairly, provided many extra credit attempts, and was understanding of circumstances and would be willing to work with you to make a time available outside of class for any help you needed.
Very good pro While some lectures are long, he explainseverything very well. Is super understanding, and actually takes him time to help you understand a concept if you are confused. He is a patient & understanding person. Very good professor overall. Just make sure to study ahead of time and to do all of the homeworks.
He was very passionate about the subject and made sure everyone understood what would be expected out of them on exams. Lots of homework.
It's clear from attending his lectures that he values students actually learning the subject. Instead of expecting students to understand material immediately, he actively gives multiple chances for students to retake quizzes as long as the student shows some effort in learning.
Best professor I ever take
Dr. Cruzado did a great job this semester, I would recommend him. He is super helpful outside of class and extends office hours. You have to work! The homework is rough sometimes. This difficulty of this class is really decided on how good your teammates are, which is not always reliable. It should be worth more than 2 credit hours for sure.
Professor Cruzado Garcia was an amazing professor. He is very patient and always tries his best to help all of his students. You can tell that he not only genuinely cares about students grades but also that his students truly understand and grasp the information he is teaching. He is extremely helpful during his office hours. Highly recommend!!:)
He was very enthusiastic during lectures and clearly loves teaching about coding. Just pay attention to the lectures (especially the examples he creates) and do the zyBooks chapter every week and you should do well in his class. Workload is pretty tame, and quizzes/exams are not difficult if you're paying attention. Definitely would recommend him!!
Very reasonable with grades, and provided chance for makeup work. Show up for class in order to take quizzes. Complete zybooks assignments and complete participation for extra credit. Overall, great professor and would take again!
Great Professor, he really loves what he teaches and you can tell at every lecture. He is always willing to stay longer than what his office hours say just to help you out with an assignment or something you're having trouble on.
He told us we would be in his favor if he gave him a good rating.
Guys please he is an amazing professor :( I'm a transferred student and this is my second time taking a coding course. He is accommodating and patient with his students. Giving him a positive review will increase the chances of a curve! Make sure to do his course evaluation as well!!!
The class material was easy to understand and the professor is very in depth making understanding easy and fun!
I personally hate anything to do with coding but he was a great teacher and was always accessible and understanding of any circumstances, I would 100% recommend taking him.
Professor Cruzado is an amazing teacher. He provides very good feedback on quizzes and assignments and offers lots of resources to study with. Participation matters in this class a lot as well as being able to communicate with your group members, which he assigns to you at the beginning of the semester based on your level of knowledge in python.
He is a good professor and pating attention to his lectures really matters.
Professor Aitor is the goat! He's very accessible and always willing to help. Answers questions in lectures in-depth and gives very good feedback. You can tell all the students aren't scared to ask questions because he will go out of his way to ensure they understand the material fully. Definitely take him.
Best professor to teach ENGR 102
Aitor is an amazing professor to have, I highly recommend him for any class he teaches. I had him for ENGR 102 and he's a pleasure to talk to and extremely helpful if you need extra clarification or guidance in class. He's also just super funny and charming which makes class fun to attend.
The best 102 professor you could take. It is a hard class if you do not experience in it, but he gives you everything you need for success. He was very easy to talk to and is very passionate about teaching, he is very generous with partial credit on quizzes and exams. Take him and you can actually have a shot at getting an A in 102.
Great teacher, if you are going to take this class, take it with him
Aitor is a good professor. Lectures can be a bit lengthy, but he provides detailed examples and explanations to guide you in the right way of completing exams, quizzes, individual and group labs. I do say he is an easy A, but I severely lacked the skill in coding(I hate it). Definitely take it and do any extra credit assignments(it helps).
Take his class!! As long as you apply yourself and put in some effort you should pass. Go to all the lectures and do as many of the assignments as you can. He's very nice and will answer any questions you have.
The professor went through his lectures with extreme details, which was very helpful because I had a hard time understanding all the coding at first. The professor was also patient with all the students who had questions, so you wouldn't have to be worried about not getting the answers that you needed.
Overall he was a great professor, he explained the lectures well, took his time his make sure we all understood. He is also very accessible outside of class times. Would definitely take again!
Professor Cruzado is one of the best when taking ENGR 102. As a student retaking this course, he taught the material in a way that helped me completely understand python. ENGR 102 is quiz-heavy as is, but Cruzado uses quizzes to help further better your knowledge of coding and provides a good amount of grade-boosting assignments.
Prof Aitor is a pretty good professor. His lectures may be a bit lengthy, but his examples throughout the lecture guide you in the right direction of understanding the logic behind coding. I don't think I'll do well in this class just because I hate coding. However, if you actually do zybooks, this class really is an easy A.
The professor has a thick accent but that does not hold him back at being very effective at teaching the course. Would take the class again.
It is so obvious that Aitor wants everyone to do well in his class!! His lectures made me giggle a lot. Do the zybooks when you're confused after a lecture, and participate during lectures. I have never left his office hours feeling like I still wasn't capable of finishing a lab. I would 100% recommend Aitor to anyone taking ENGR 102.
Good teaching, Cool dude. is very good at helping you understand the material.
Amazing professor, gives a lot of second chances and tries to help you with improving your grade.
Overall the professor is amazing. His lectures are clear and him as well as his TAs are always willing to help you out with any coding issues. One thing to look after is to always stay on top of the lab assignments and readings or else it will pile up on you. Other than that this was a great course!
He is a great professor. I had to retake ENGR 102 because my first prof was absolutely terrible, and he was a polar opposite. During lectures and after he would open up a text editor and actually code in front of us explaining how things worked. Would be very helpful answering questions and would definitely take again.
Explains basics of coding in Python very well. The course itself is difficult, and all the sections of ENGR102 have the same assignments. Team labs coding due each week, and individual labs coding due each week. These labs really help you learn the material and you will fail if you don't do them. Prof is really helpful when you need help on labs.
Great Professor! He explains things very well and usually gives examples of the code after lecture. There's a good amount of homework and quizzes mostly every class but it shouldn't be bad as long as you keep up with the work. I could've easily got a better grade in this class but I was not attending regularly and that affected my grade.
Dr. Cruzando is easily the best professor I have had in the engineering department. He uses coding frequently in his research, so his understanding of the material is unlike anyone else who teaches this class. This class is a lot of work, but Dr. Cruzando will set you up for success. He is also very funny and makes two hour classes somehow fun.
He will do his very best to make sure you pass his class. He is a great lecturer and gives extra credit.
Very nice lectures which help a lot in understanding the concepts, if you pay attention the homework becomes way easier.
This professor was amazing and truly a professor I recommend any upcoming freshman engineers to take. He truly cares about his students and will teach till his students understand the lecture. He shows many examples and interacts with the class a lot. His work is not very hard but you do have to study.
excellent professor, and very funny
As much as I was annoyed by the structure of ENGR 102, that is not his fault. He was a great professor who truly does care, and wants everyone to succeed. We need more professors like him.
Awful professor. The structure of the class was horrific and my group mates barely knew what they were doing. I would try asking his PT's questions but they would just shrug me off and barely answer them. Do not take this professor.
He is a gem, and no one can not convince me otherwise. I'm a transfer student and coding was new to me, but he made it easy to follow. The quizzes were difficult for me but it was doable. I would say I owe him my entire degree he cares, just ask questions, he is PATIENT. He is the GOAT
I started this class having ZERO experience in coding and I ended it getting an A. This class is full of work but all of it prepares you for the exams. He is very very kind and will help you with everything you need. He understands if you have excuses and gives extra credit on quizzes if you go and talk to him about it. We will need to focus for A!
Professor Cruzado is a caring instructor who makes a tough course manageable. Lectures are engaging, and the work is challenging but doable with focus. Unstuckstudy AI was a lifesaver for test prep.
He is very kind, understanding, and helpful. There is A LOT of homework, and we did have a quiz every time we were in this class. The homeworks start easy but then get harder, so hope to get a good group. There is not a lot of material to study for the midterms or finals, you either know it or you don't.
Caring professor who knows the material well, reinforced my previous knowledge of programming. Students may need a little help from each other, but can answer questions you throw at him!
Dr. Cruzado is very helpful in the aspects of one-on-one and will try to help you to answer any questions you may have regarding coding problems. Only negative is the reality behind the sheer size of the class that limits him to go into great detail about specifics, but the more questions you ask the better off you'll be overall.
Cruzado is very kind and wants to make sure everyone succeeds. He makes sure to answer all the questions that people ask and ensures that everyone understands the material. His slides and lectures are helpful, and he posts them on Canvas. He is VERY lenient on due dates, so as long as you have any sort of excuse, he will give you a break.
Clear instructions on assignments. He can be hard with grading on quizzes but he's helpful with team and individual coding assignments even if the class is large. There is no attendance but know that there's a quiz in almost every class.
Good prof that will help you if you want. Lectures are super long but it's not his fault, there are many people that simply don't know how to code. Do all of the homework and zybooks early so you can take your time and understand. Study hard for the exams like an hour a day for a week, if you do that you should get an A.
This prof cares a lot, but this course is mostly up to you and taking responsibility of your assignments. If you need help, you need to start the assignments early so that you have time to get it.
Dr. Cruzado was very caring and clearly wants us all to succeed. The most challenging thing about this course were the group assignments because they could end up taking a very long time. However, if you find yourself stuck in a rut, there is TA office hours on the 4th floor of zach almost every day.
He's very kind and helpful. He has a team python lab assignment and an individual python lab assignment each week, and his lectures cover everything needed for that week's lab. If you have issues or questions he is more than willing to help, and the TA's are helpful as well.
Very kind man who seems like he cares about us succeeding. You can tell in his tone that he isn't trying to kill us with the assignments and assessments, he wants us to do well. Would absolutely recommend. Best Engr 102 prof.
Great professor with in-depth knowledge of python. Some of the lectures are reading off powerpoint but he can answer any question you may have. Requires zybook participation but the grade is more diluted compared to other professors.
He is very passionate, in a good way. Completing the textbook work is required, but it's a small part of the grade and useful if you want to know the material in order to pass the class.
He is a great prof, definitely take him if you can, he is super funny and caring!
Goes in depth in lectures and has an enthusiastic presence.
The professor was a great teacher. His lectures were easy to understand, and the practice problems he provided helped to solidify concepts. He was also readily available outside of class.
Dr. Garcia was a great professor to have for 102. He was very helpful about answering questions, and gave us time every Friday to work on the Group Labs in class and ask him questions about the assignments. He is a very nice man who genuinely wants to see his class be successful. Take Dr. Garcia, he's a great guy.
Super cool and friendly professor, genuinely wants you and everyone to learn the material. Fast to reply to emails and gives good answers. Some form of quiz every day (not as bad as it sounds). "I am your ChatGPT" - Aitor
Professor Cruzado does a great job at teaching his class, and grades very fairly. The course ENGR 102 can be a heavy workload, especially if you have no previous knowledge on coding, however this is not the professor's fault. I can truthfully say I've learned the most from this class, and out of all the ENGR 102 professors Cruzado is the best.
Overall a great person, ENGR102 is a lot of work and he does a good job at keeping everyone on track and involved. He will always help you, you just have to ask for it.
Great prof
Very funny, has lots of quizzes, and pretty good classes.
Great lecturer, very understanding of different experience levels, incredibly helpful if simply asked questions, lowk the GOAT.
Awesome professor. Genuinely cares about his students learning the material. Lots of quizzes but if you pay attention in class and ask questions you will do fine. There are lots of help sessions for the exams as well.
Aitor is an amazing instructor, he finds ways to explain concepts that work, show tips and tricks for coding while introducing humor into the lesson. His accent might take a while to get used to, but it doesn't affect the understanding. I will say that he sometimes goes fast, and that can lead to some confusion, but he'll explain them if you ask.
Attendance is not mandatory and the lecture slides are online, but there is a quiz at the end of almost every class, and I would not advise skipping. Overall Cruzado was hard to understand sometimes, and it was a lot of work, but in the end was not too terrible. I would not recommend, but also not strongly against.
Good teacher for programming. I've heard of some having problems with coding, however I believe this class is the beginning to all engineering majors. If you put the work in, you will succeed.
Aitor is the most iconic professor I had this semester. Lecture slides are posted so you can easily follow along if you have trouble understanding his accent. He is very helpful during class, and you can tell that he genuinely cares about his students. We had "RAT" quizzes that other classes did not have, but they helped me prepare for exams.
He is a very good professor in the sense that you learn what you need to learn. If you do your online textbook work, and you pay attention in class, his classes are a breeze. Admittedly, some of his lectures are a bit run-on and boring, but they get the point across and make you prepared for the quizzes.
Good proff! He cares and ensures students are learning the content.
There was a lot of homework and group projects for this class. It's pretty easy if you study, go to class, use the online textbook, and don't use outside help while coding. I didn't finish with a good grade because of laziness towards the end, but it's doable.
Great coding experience
I have a lot of feelings about this class that have nothing to do with my professor. The design of the class feels bad. Spending the same amount of time learning the print function as files baffles me. Aitor taught the class really well, but it just felt too fast paced for me since I've never had any previous coding experience.
Dr. Cruzado is a great professor and an extremely helpful and fun person to speak with however, his lectures lacked when it came to engagement.
Great teacher, accent was hard to understand at first.
Great professor, just have to learn a lot outside of class because the slides are not enough.
Dr. Cruzado is somewhat lenient with assignment deadlines. Stay ahead of assignments before they get too overwhelming (especially the zyBooks Modules). Takes notes in lecture and you will do just fine on the RATs and Quizzes. The individual and team assignments are great to learn from (don't cheat on those). Very sweet professor (would take again).
Many group assignments, however grading is fair. Go to class, listen and ask questions and the tests and quizzes will be fair.
Cruzado was a good professor overall. His accent can be difficult to understand sometimes, but his slides are well formatted and are fairly straightforward. His quizzes are harder than most other 102 professors, but not unreasonable. As someone who never did code before this class I did well. If you want to succeed go to office hours and PT Hours.
i did not have coding experience, but this prof gives you all the information you need to do well in this class. you are gonna have to put in a lot of effort to learn the material but thats just because the class is hard, not because the teacher is bad. go to pt hours too. also, this prof puts a lot of grades in which helps your final grade a lot
He is very encouraging and relaxed
Most of the teaching consisted of reading off slides and sloppily improvised demonstrations. Class can be difficult without any previous python experience (I used futurecoder over the summer to prepare). Most learning comes through zybooks homework, make sure to do them or you will be lost. Quizzes (RATS) after most lectures.
Don't go of his rate my prof. He asks students to rate him on it for extra cred that he doesn't give. Seriously go for prof elms or richie.
I found his lecture slides and assignments pretty straightforward and not too difficult. If you have any trouble you have many resources to help you, such as TA's, group members, Dr. Garcia, etc. As long as you keep up with your homework you will be able to breeze through this class.
I really enjoyed it. The professor is a nice guy that there to help you
Very nice guy and easy to understand teaching. This course requires one textbook purchase (about 60 dollars) but thats all of the professors. If you are already comfortable with python, this professor has a lot more quizzes and mandatory assignments than other profs which aren't hard, but there are a lot of. Overall great professor.
Took the class not knowing anything about coding and came out loving it. The lectures/slideshows are pretty straightforward and the assignments were helpful in supporting those lectures. Did heavily rely on stack overflow to fill in the blanks. As long as you do the assignments, a good grade should be pretty easy.
If you put in the effort and take some time outside of class to learn the material better or review, there should be little struggle with the material. Very lenient on late assignments, his communication is very open and should be utilized if you are struggling. His accent can be difficult to understand at times with the pronunciation of words.
Professor Aitor is the one you all are looking for ENGR 102. He is an easy grader and practises the similar questions that will be in the exams. He gives extra credits too and going to his office hours has really helped me. He helps students in every way possible, his lectures are clear and contain the information needed for exams.
He was great, but use his office hours if you can!! He is amazing during them and goes into detail on everything. I had no coding experience, but as long as you actually do the work, then his lectures and instructions are very easy to follow!
He's a very understanding guy and cares about you understanding the material of the course.
He was an awesome professor. He was very kind and helpful, and he would help you with your code if you couldn't figure what was going wrong.
Amazing professor
Hard to understand his accent sometimes but he will always talk slower and explain it more if you ask him. Also during quizes and his lecture assignments if your confused you can usually just ask him and he'll help you solve it
Professor Aitor is a really good professor. I really recommend if you are new to python. He is very understanding and wants the best for you. This is my second time taking the class. My first time was with another professor and on exam 1 i got a low F and had to drop. In professor aitor class, on exam 1 I got a B. Trust me, take his class!
The class was very easy, just an introductory python course following a textbook with many labs and quiz's along the way to make sure you understand what you're doing. only real issue with the class is how focus it was on doing weekly assignments so no chance to prepare for the next week before finishing that weeks work.
He's really good prof!! amazing and so sweet person, his lecture is not really heavy, even if you are new to coding like me at first it was confusing but you'll get used to it. sometimes the lecture will be boring but not all of his lecture!!, and be ready to take quiz every week it's writing a coding problem on paper. Overall really awesome prof!!
He is very kind and caring. He has a lot of passion about this class, which students can clearly observe. He explains everything pretty well and he goes into a lot of different examples to help better understand coding. I had no prior experience in coding, but he helped me develop a great foundation.
ENGR-102 in general is a tough course to get a grasp on if you have no previous coding experience. Professor Cruzado did his best in trying to implement different ways for beginners to familiarize themselves with the material. There are weekly paper quizzes, RAT's, and individual and group work due. Make sure to remain on top of your work.
The professor's class is hard, but the professor is very supportful.
He was so funny and caring. Provided many group assignments and quizzes. This class is really easy as long as you pay attention in lecture.
A very good professor, hilarious sometimes. Mid-level difficulty courses, remember to read over the lecture slides before exams. There are only 2 exams, but multiple quizzes and RATs. So you can still get a good score if you do badly on an exam. I personally really like this professor, easy-going, you can talk to him whatever you concerns are.
Absolute goat class most engr profs are nice but he's it fr
He is a very good professor and really goes into depth in his lectures. I have learned so much from him and I wouldn't have been able to learn all these new things without him
Super caring professor who just wants you to complete ENGR 102
He is a very good instructor who is highly knowledgeable about the subject. The class is engaging, and he provides informative examples of what we are learning.
Very good professor who offers an engaging class that introduces you to Python. Class can be challenging if you have no prior experience, but the professor ensures you have all the resources needed to pass the class. I would definitely recommend taking!
Professor Cruzado is great! He definitely helps you if you have questions.
He is a great prof and will distribute out numerous assignments to receive extra credit for the class, highly recommend doing those assignments.
He is a great professor whose sole focus was to ensure eveyone understood the material through his use of examples throughout lecture slides, quizzes, and reviews before the exams. Even with no prior coding experience, he thoroughly explained the material well and was easy to reach out for help with the material. Also, tons of extra credit as well.
The professor provides a lot of examples and always helps when you get stuck somewhere on an assignment. The quizzes are a bit tricky sometimes. Paying attention to the lectures is very helpful.
Dr. Cruzado is an amazing professor. He explains everything really well, and he always goes more in-depth with concepts by going beyond the lecture slides by testing new concepts in python. Always willing to answer questions, he also asks lots of questions in class to make sure we all have a good understanding.
Great professor. Explains everything clearly. Attendance isn't required, but missing class made me fall behind. Lots of extra credit. Chill overall. I'd take him again.
Dr. Cruzado is a very good professor. Don't hesitate when doing a question; office hours are very helpful. He has the will too help students. Attend lecture, complete zybooks and you'll be fine for quiz/exams.
The class itself is difficult, but King Aitor does a good job on making sure you understand the material and can get a good grade in the class. He gives many chances for extra credit and encourages students to ask questions in class or even ask if they need help on clarifying a question or two on the assignments.
Hes a great professor overall, he helps his students when stuck on a question, DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP!, Hes a real sweet heart. The course itself is naturally hard, but the professor isnt.
Excellent professor, very kind and very understanding. Will explain everything 100 times if you need it.
Codes in lectures instead of just slides. His accent wasn't an issue. 45% 2 exams, 20% labs+ZyBooks, 24% RATs+quizzes, 11% 2 essays & dept stuff. RATs are right after lectures, but easy if you pay attention, as he'll emphasize certain slides. Quizzes are hit or miss in difficulty. Labs can be difficult later in the course, but tons of extra credit.
didnt really like coding but he made the lectures interesting, it was always a great class to attend.
Professor Cruzado is great. There is a lot of homework in Labs, they are doable. There are quizzes almost every week that can be challenging but he grades with mercy. Exams are important as there are only 2 and they make up 55% of your grade. Pay attention and participate in lectures and class will be much easier.
Might be the best 102 professor. Heavy on extra credit and curving. There's a short quiz after every lecture but they are really easy. The quizzes are also really easy as long as you do the labs (homework). Try to do they labs without too much outside help, because it's the best practice for the exams and quizzes.
Very understanding professor, though it's tough to get a response through email he always reads them and is ready next class. I came in with no prior knowledge in coding, just pay attention in lectures and don't cheat on the at home assignments and you will have a great time with the class.
As someone who did not know anything about coding before this class, I found this class to be extremely difficult to manage with how much homework and labs that are due every week. Study absolutely everything until it is engraved into your being. Aitor is actually an amazing professor, but this class is an utter nightmare for those such as myself.
Professor Aitor is a great instructor who genuinely cares about his students and their success. He's very accessible, always willing to help, and truly wants you to understand the material. While the homework can be a bit long, he's an easy grader and creates a supportive learning environment.
I took Dr. Cruzado's class this summer semester, one of the best classes I have taken at TAMU. He is great and willing to help even outside of his office hours. He genuinely cares and is willing to help you understand the material. Numerical computation is a tough class, but Dr. Cruzado made the learning experience easy and enjoyable.
He cares for his students and will go the extra mile to help them if they do their part and demonstrate interest. Dr. Cruzado has a very organized way of presenting class material, test topics, practice material for tests and quizzes. Would 100% recommend, specially those interested in structural fatigue sim which he'll gladly share his research on
I'd never coded until freshman year. I failed the first test and thought my life was over. I reached out to Cruzado and asked him for more help, (he even let me come into his office when he didn't have office hours). He's nice and wants the best for you even though it may not seem like it. I got a 90% on the final and thanked him on the last day.
Best prof i have in tamu so far.
Super nice guy who clearly wants his students to understand the material. Gives short quizzes after each lecture, but they're easy so long as you engage. Some weeks are homework-heavy, but they're managable so long as you work through the ZB participation/challenges. Also super generous with partial credit on exams and quizzes.
Super kind and willing to help in his office hours. Never coded before in my life and this course gets difficult very quickly. With Dr. Garcia, it has been a manageable and achievable process.
Pretty chill guy. Adjusts to the pace of the students which is nice
If you do not know how to code, Dr. Cruzado makes Python simpler to understand. Make sure to take him if you're able to.
This professor is amazing. He truly cares about students passing the class and wants to support them as much as possible. The class is hard in the latter half, but he teaches very well in the lectures. There are weekly team labs, which can either be a huge grade boost or tank it based on your group's willingness to work. The BEST ENGR102 prof.
Extremely nice and chill prof, willing to help and talks about F1 from time to time
He's a very good and kind professor. Its obvious he cares about the success of all of his students. The class itself shouldn't be very hard, but his lectures make everything easier.
Excellent professor, class can be tough especially without prior experience coding, but he makes it as easy as possible. Shows examples of code in lectures instead of just reading from slides. Super kind and approachable and willing to help with assignments if you get stuck. Exam averages were consistently higher than other sections. Take him.
He was an overall good professor who cared about his students success. There are quizzes every lecture the paper ones were difficult but lecture ones were easy if you paid attention to lecture. The material itself is very difficult especially for someone like me who has never coded in my life. Ask for help if needed. Good professor who cared.
Dr. Cruzado is an amazing professor, I would definitely recommend. The lectures great and made the quizzes (RATs) pretty easy (paper quizzes were a bit harder). Don't skip because there's usually a quiz in during each class. The course is very manageable if you put it the work (I didn't have a lot of coding experience), exams were difficult for me.
Dr Cruzado is everything you could ask for in a 102 prof. The class is decently difficult but Dr Cruzado makes it as easy as he can. Good prof, take him if possible.
Dr. Cruzado is the most understanding professor I have had. He is easily accessible outside of class, clear lectures, and is really good about answering any questions before/after class. If you pay attention in lecture and do the homework yourself, you will do amazing in the class.
Just take him, He is the best prof i ever got.
Good ahh blud with a nice accent.
Good professor that is willing to help you when have a problem
He's a very understanding guy when you talk to him outside of class. He is egar to help students and cares if you pass. He makes extensive test reviews and there's lots of quizzes. One per lecture but he prepares you well if you just pay attention to his slides.
Dr. Cruzado is an awesome professor. His class is well organized, and he is very approachable. He does have quizzes almost every class based on the lecture slides, so be sure to show up! His exams are difficult, but if you put in the time to study and attend his office hours, you will be fine.
He is a good teacher all in all. He does have a thick accent so beware and he does not give as much extra credit as other engineering 102 professors.
Slight accent you need to get used to but he is a great teacher, as long as you try to pay attention to his teaching style, you will learn all the things you need to know, attendance isn't required but most classes will have a rat, basically a mini quiz which will go on your final grade so I'd recommend going to almost every class.
Amazing Teacher! Actually cares about his student and is willing to go the extra mile to support them. His grading criteria is very clear and if you have any questions about the class, he will do anything in his power to help you. You might have to study for some quizzes you have in his class but overall amazing teacher. Highly recommended
He was a really incredible teacher! Truly cares about his students and wants to make a potentially difficult course easy to understand. Willing to listen to and work through problems with you. There is a quick quiz after every lecture but if you just pay attention you should easily get a 100 on them. Was lenient on some due dates. Great professor!
Amazing ENGR 102 professor, and has the ability to teach other classes really well. He is responsive to his students and cares about them. Offer generous extra credit (the most you get for ENGR 102), which help curbs the effects of the 2 hard exams. His lectures are clear and generous with partial credit on FRQs..
This class assumed you didn't know anything about python, which I really appreciated. While Dr. Cruzado is very good professor who truly cares about his students learning, I did find myself struggling to keep in this class as a sophomore, I wish he would be more understanding and lenient with non-freshman students. All in all, a very awesome prof.
As someone with lots of coding experience, the only hard time I had was learning the Python syntax. Professor Cruzado quickly cleared up any confusion and was very generous with assignments/deadlines. He really cares. Definitely take him if you can.
Goat professor, he's very helpful and gives lots of good feedback, and he will try his best to answer any questions you have. Cracks jokes during class which is always appreciated, and his lecture slides are very informational. If you show up to class and pay some attention to the lectures, you can easily get a good grade.
Dr. Cruzado is a very good teacher because he knows how to present material effectively. His lectures cover all the important topics that are presented on the quizzes and exams, and success in his class purely depends on engaging yourself in the lectures. He cares about his students, about the course and about his performance, which is respectable.
Mr. Cruzado is overall a great professor, easily approachable, lenient with due dates and even offers generous extra credit. 10/10 would take again.
Very good and understanding professor. Is very willing to help you with coding problems, especially if you come with no prior experience.
Dr. Cruzado is the best ENGR 102 professor. He is willing to go the extra mile for his students which shows how caring he is. The class is undoubtingly a hard class because it is solely a python programming class, but Dr. Cruzado tries make it easier to understand with his amazing lectures and helpfulness throughout the course.
Dr. Cruzado was a great professor to learn from. His lectures were engaging, and he explained all the concepts very clearly. He expects you to turn in your labs on time and to be ready to take a quiz every class. You will succeed in his class if you put in time outside of class to prepare/work.
Professor Cruzado was an amazing instructor, try to get him for ENGR 102 if you can! I was initially worried coming in without coding experience but lectures were comprehensive, help readily provided, labs helpful, and zybooks shockingly good. Make use of office hours as needed and with Professor Aitor you'll do great and actually learn Python!
Easy class if you've coded before. Really helpful with the labs and stuff, he'll give you feedback and help if you need. Pretty gracious with grading if all you guys do terrible on the quizzes and stuff
Really easy class with bunch of group coding projects; I had a good group so it was no problem. Exams can be challenging, so I recommend to study for them. Cruzado gives a lot of extra credit so even if you did bad on exams or quizzes, you can still get an A.
Aitor "I do not believe this" Cruzado: a master at ragebaiting. Assigns "RATs"(post lecture quizzes) on top of normal Quizzes, and refuses to believe other profs give extra credit on Zybooks (which is mandatory for him) Does give decent extra credit at the end of the course, which makes up for it.
The class itself is difficult if you have limited knowledge on coding or python. However, if you study before the quizzes/RATS and the exams you should do well. Also, attending office hours is helpful. I had only knowledge of JavaScript before this but honestly you can get an A in it if you lock in. The exams are weighted a lot.
Great professor who cares about teaching and takes his time to make sure students learn well. Has quizzes in class that can be slightly challenging but gives great extra credit at the end. I would definitely recommend him!
