He is really hard to verbally understand however he only gives four tests through out the year with no final. Your final grade is an average of these four tests. he lets you pick 5 out of 7 questions on the tests which is really easy and he gives you power points to study over. plus he gives retests. he is awesome
Hard to understand, so sit near the front. Tests are easy. He doesn't use the textbook, just powerpoint slides. No graded homework. 4 tests, 25% each. There is no final.
A little hard to understand at times, so sitting up front is a must. His tests are really easy and really cares for the subject.
easy class, no homework or assingments, you only have 4 test throughout the semester that are based of the notes given in class. cool teacher and helps you when you need it. I do recomend you take him for this class
Good Professor, very funny guy to talk to in office hours. Goes over theory and then solves lots of problems in class, which is very helpful. You don't need the textbook because he gives you all the information you need during the lecture. If you pay attention and attend class every day it should not be too hard to get an A. Makes physics easy!
Professor Kumar is a great person, though he can be difficult to understand because of his accent. Despite this, his class was very easy to pass with my only prior physics knowledge coming from a high-school Physics I class. I attended 5 classes throughout the semester, though I followed the PowerPoints diligently. 4 of those classes were test days
Awesome professor. Go to class and do the hw he assigns. You will understand and get an A.
Very Good professor and is willing to help out if you need help. Just study the powerpoints and know the formulas and you should no trouble passing his class. I do recommend this professor to anyone.
Good Prof., if you go to class and study the power points he goes over then you should easily get an A. I took this class once with a diff prof and had to retake it now with Dr.Kumar and I got an A+..so I would really recommend him to anyone that wants to understand physics and do well in the class.
Good professor and nice guy willing not only to get you to pass but to get you to understand. He lets you retake tests which are fairly similar to the first attempt. The accent is something to get used to
He is hard to verbally understand, but he uses lecture slides with the material on them. He posts all of his lecture slides online, so you can easily read those when a topic is unclear. He also posts his homework and step-by-step solutions online as well.
Prof Kumar is the best teacher in phy department i have ever seen. he is very kind and his lectures were very clear . he made me love phy . best of luck prof
great prof he give very helpful power point slides which cover the tests . he is very helpful and funny spirit . take him
Prof Kumar is very unique prof in UTSA . give you 4 tests and each count 25% if you do not do well you can ask him to let you retake the test . i did not see any prof in utsa give you this chance . i wish you all the best prof
Dr Kumar one of the best professor in UTSA he gives you a good homework and all what you need to understand the chapters he helped me so much to understand physics most of the professor make this cours as hell but Dr kumar make it really easy i would really recommend this class
he is the best professor i have taken with in UTSA, i really like his class and would love to take another class with him again. he gives you a review before exam and it helps you a lot to get an A in the exam. thank you Dr. Kumar for being in this university i really loved physics because of you.
BEST PROFESSOR. I HOPE HE TEACHES ALL CLASSES SO WE CAN GET ALL A's.
He's a pretty cool guy. He's not one of those professors who works you to death. Come to class, do his assignments, pay attention and you'll do fine.
he is the best professor i have taken the entier of my degree he made the material really clear homework and solution was helpful if you study the homework you will do fine if you dont understand he will be glad to help you in his office thank you dr Kumar
Professor Ajithkumar he is a great professor, he is very approachable and will take time to clarify any concepts you don't understand. He does give homework's and they help a lot.Only four exams worth 25% each and he is very helpful. Take him if you can.
Best prof for physics in UTSA so funny make the lecture easy he will gives you 4 test if you do the HW and go through his lecture powerpoint you get an A he is a really cool prof Thank you Dr Kumar
Best Physics 1 teacher hands down. You dont need the book because the powerpoint slides is your homework and study material. He is a bit hard to understand but go to his office and wil clear everything up. Got an A in that class one of the best engineering professors at UTSA.
Great and Helpful Teacher
Best professor in UTSA period! Take him if you want to get a good understanding of Engineering Physics and consequently get an A in the class.
The best ever
Good teacher who will help anyone that asks for it. He was very generous about giving make-up exams as well. I would recommend taking physics with him.
the best class in UTSA
THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE HAD IN UTSA.
do the HW and go through his lecture powerpoint you get an A he is a really cool prof easy A
Best way to learn physics. He is helpful and allows for retest should you need them. Make sure you use his notes and practice homeworks. Overall great teacher
best professor ever. i highly recommend his class.
Class was very easy. Everything is on powerpoint and the tests were basically straight from them. The teacher himself is very chill and funny at times, though sometimes it is hard to hear through his accent
He was very helpful.
Class wasn't hard and sometimes can be funny. Tests are not bad as long as you do the homework presented in the powerpoints. Good teacher but sometimes accent is a bit tough to understand. Good class definitely would take again.
The class was easy to pass if you went over the power-points and practice the homework that is provided in the power-points. The professor was very nice and understanding and gave opportunity to retake but its not necessary if you'd study. It was difficult to understand him at times due to his accent but overall he was a wonderful professor.
He is a great professor gives you a good homework and solution you will learn so much in this class i really recommend him
Great professor, very helpful and really corporate with the students. If u have the chance to be in his class don't avoid it.
i hope he teach another classes of my major, so good professor, highly recommended
Class was fairly easy. His notes are all on powerpoint and the tests were basically straight from them. The teacher himself is fast paced. But he can be funny sometimes. Although, at times it is hard to understand some things, due to his accent.
The class is pretty easy if you do what the teacher says. The homework is not required but the problems are about the same for the tests. Overall it is a great class to take because it allows you to dedicate more time to more difficult courses and you learn the essentials of physics without having to put long hours of work into it.
BEST PROFESSOR.i really like his class and would love to take another class with him again.
He was an awesome Physics 1 professor! Much better than my high school professors. I would strongly suggest going to class because there's a lot of practice problems that help you understand everything.
Very compatible with students and their needs
I highly recommend this very nice instructor. He knows his materials. He lets me feel the physics and understand it.
Professor Kumar gave everyone the option to better themselves in the class. I started off a bit rough and ended much stronger in physics than before.
He's an amazing teacher, very lenient when it comes to homework. Honestly if you put in the work you can get an A in the class.
Kumar was awesome! I enjoyed his class thoroughly and he was always extremely helpful during and outside of class. If you can manage it, sign up for his physics I class. You won't regret it!
Kumar was awesome. Always helpful during and outside of class. Definitely recommend him if you're looking for a solid physics I prof.
Kumar was awesome! very helpful outside of class. Really easy to do well if you study and go over the power points he lectures in class.
U need just to study his homework and lecture and you will be ready to get A, during the day classes u can get 5 extra points for each question u solve on the board OR u can go to his office and solve their to get yr extra points ..DON'T miss the review days before the test .. Good luck guys
The professor was very helpful in creating homework that actually coincides with the exam, and every lecture was straight to the point with several worked out problems that help you understand the material. Great professor, take him if you have the chance.
Good teacher! Always willing to help outside of class during office hours. Tests are a challenge but if you go to class and actually pay attention you will do good. He works a lot of examples during class, many of which are like test questions. This is where attending class actually benefits you.
going to class is not mandatory but I would suggest it. He works a lot of problems out on during the lecture. Some of them are on the exams. Also he is available in his office to work through even more problems. If you pay attention and study you should have no problem passing.
He is a very good teacher. he always trying to help the students in class and outside the class (office). he always gives the students extra time if they need!
l like this person because he is helpful all students. always give extra credits.
Test are short but if you attend the class before it's real easy to study for. Gives a lot of extra credit as long as you're willing to do the work for it. He also allows you to make-up questions in his office. I really enjoyed him as a professor.
Good professor, willing to provide help and extra credit. Tough but manageable, test reviews look very similar to actual tests.
If you do the work, you can get an A. Every opportunity is present to earn a good grade.
Has a good since of humor, makes the class interesting. You really should go to class, most the test questions he covers in his lectures. Willing to give help and extra credit ( a lot ).
Helpful, provides plenty of study material and lots of extra credit, class is well organized
Good professor and tough class but you can definitely pass if you study and attend class, and the professor is willing to give extra credit if you work for it.
Tough class, but definitely not impossible. Kumar is helpful if you are willing to work hard. Extra credit really helps! His accent is tough to understand at first, but his work is clear.
Kumar's dope.
Great teacher.
He provides good opportunities for extra credit.
His is very good prof
He gives you plenty of opportunities for extra credit. Do the homework and you should be fine
cool and funny guy. actually gives you examples that are similar to test problems instead of useless information. good professor.
He is a good professor. Gives extra credit by solving examples in class or in his office hour. TAKE HIM !
This professor is the best PHY 1903 at UTSA. I wish if he would teach PHY 1923. :(
This professor is very god at teaching, and helping students to get a higher grade. He also has a lot of extra credit. don't hesitate, take him!
Best professor at UTSA
Nice teacher. Helps if you go see him during his office hours
Good professor.
truly amazing! loved his class.
Mr. Gangadharan is the best thing that happened to UTSA EVER !!
He is a really good professor. He trys to make sure everyone will get a good grade. It is hard to fail this class. He gives extra credit when you work problems out in class and tells you what to study for your tests. But you need to actually study what he tells you if you want to do good. He is hard to understand but it gets easier the more you go
First couple of weeks were rocky, but as soon as you get used to Professor's way of teaching it gets easier. Powerpoints were similar to book definitions. Definitely recommend to do the problems assigned because they he usually puts them in the test. Put the time and effort to understanding each chapter and problems assigned. Best of luck!
Kumar is a very nice professor that will help you as much as you need. He has plenty of opportunities for extra credit--so just study hard and do the extra credit. You'll pass as long as you put in an honest effort.
Kumar was an excellent teacher that provided plenty of help to those that needed it; class was generally very straight-forward, and there is plenty of opportunity for extra credit. I would recommend taking him.
Kumar is a very nice understanding and above all caring professor. His tests are not necessarily easy, since some multiple choice are tricky. Overall, he is the best physics professor at UTSA. I strongly recommend reading the book. Lectures are short and concise: quite unenthusiastic, but if you like physics then you will love this class
The way Dr Kumar's physics class is tailored, you get out of it what you put into it. If you never go to class and you don't do homework, then don't expect a phenomenal grade. This class is only for those who are willing to put in the work required to be a good engineer.
Great professor overall, definitely get the book while taking him
Professor Kumar is awesome! His class is super easy as long as you take notes in class and do the assigned problems. He also offers plenty of extra credit for each test. Can be a little hard to understand because of his accent, so I recommend sitting up front. Overall a great class, I definitely recommend taking him!
Awesome professor, lots of extra credit opportunities
Dr. Kumar is the man. Don't try using the solution manual for problems because he will catch you. Pay attention in class and the test is pretty much straight from lecture examples. He's dope af
Great professor, lots of extra credit chances. Do the problems in class, or go to his office, and earn extra credits, three tests and no final. do attend his review sessions.
dr. kumar is the best i have learned a lot and gives plenty of extra credit chances in and out of the classroom.
Dr. Kumar is awesome extremely helpful and gives plenty of chances for extra credit for those who need it
Good professor. Gives a lot of extra credit. Definitely recommend.
Good teacher who is willing to help students who look for it. There was extra credit in class for solving problems on the board. He can be a bit difficult to understand because of his accent; however if you need clarity just ask. Overall, pretty good professor.
best physics instructor in the UTSA. he knows his material very well. gives you a lot of extra credits. very helpful.
It was very hard to understand his accent, but he gives a lot of extra credit. Just show that you want to pass and go to his office for help
Professor Gangadharan does a great job of teaching. He gives many opportunities to succeed. Lots of extra credit and helps as much as he can during office hours. Wants everyone to do well.
Professor Kumar provides A LOT of extra credit opportunities, and is very relaxed during class. A lot of learning gets done in class, and the material is made easy to understand (with a couple of jokes from the professor from time to time!) Take this class!!
As long as you do the problems he gives you, You'll be guaranteed an A+
Easy going and very helpful.
He is great teacher, and very helpful, he gives extra credits sometime
Pretty good teacher, he can be hard to understand at times, goes at a really good pace. Offers a lot of extra credit and allows test corrections for full credit if you go see him in his office hour. But be prepared to do a lot of self teaching he gives you the basics and lets you learn the rest. Tests are straight off the power points.
Great teacher , can be hard to understand sometimes but lectures are great. Very generous with extra credit
Great Professor
he is the best professor ever . he likes to help students . TAKE HIM
Has had only 3 test, willing to negotiate if whole class does poorly, Go to class study in class ?'s
Professor Kumar has a rather thick accent that is hard to understand, but he is an awesome teacher who will help you with so many extra credit opportunities. TAKE HIM NO MATTER WHAT.
This is a great teacher helps a lot; tons of extra points if you attend to classes. Highly recommend his class.
Lots of extra credit, great professor.
Good professor, does many examples in class and provides plenty of opportunity for extra credit. You can tell he cares about his students.
great teacher, easy learning the material and he helps out a lot if your struggling. Also if you do the extra problems in his office he sometimes offers extra credit.
the best professor in the utsa
THE BEST ONE IN THE UTSA
Good teacher. Puts notes to study online and tells you what you need to study. Go to class and you should be fine.
One of the greatest instructors in the UTSA ..... Highly recommended
Pretty great class. I was worried at first I was gonna do bad but the teacher is actually really good about his reviews and giving a ton of extra credit as long as you show up to class and do problems on the board. A little hard to understand but sit more towards the front of the class and it's a little easier to understand him.
Lessons are straight forward. Explains every law and equation used. Do exercise problems he assigns, they might appear on test. Easy class as long as you keep up with the work and understand the lesson
Really good professor that cares about his students. He gives a lot of extra credit for working problems up on the board and in his office. His teaching was really straight forward and easy to comprehend for physics noobs. He does have a thick accent, but you'll get used to it. Also, you don't need a book. Everything you need is in his ppts.
Although the professor was sometimes difficult to understand, he provided many opportunities to earn extra credit.
Awesome teacher very funny
Great professor overall.
Really helpful and nice.
Very straight forward. Plenty of extra credit opportunities! Would definitely take his class again.
Great professor and great class. Always can prepared to class. Give extra credit if you attend class. He will help you if you are struggling in the class. He also reviews the test before you take it. You can tell he cares about his students.
Made the test based out of problems you did in class or in the book. Gave us a lot of extra credit at the end of the course and curved our grade. i found the class easy. He is hard to understand due to his accent.
Great professor. Test are easy if you attened class and pay attention to the powerpoint slides.
Best teacher ever!!! He helps a lot to make you learn the subject and also helps to rise your grade with extra credit options. Highly recommended!!
Dr. Kumar makes physics easy to understand, and if you don't get it during class, he will explain in great detail during his office hours! If you do the homework problems he asks the test won't be hard. Also he offers several extra credit opportunities. Highly recommended.
Very good teacher
Helps out a lot.
Great professor! He truly cares about his students and was always willing to answer questions and help you understand the material being covered. Even though his accent is strong he always tries to help the students out.
Great teacher. Does not condescend to students. Recognizes that it is a college course and will treat you like a college student. Very intellectual and an underrated sense of humor.
worst professor! He has a really thick accent and you cannot understand anything he says in his lecture! I don't recommend taking him at all!
Worst professor I've had in all my college years! You can't understand him especially with his accent and goes through the chapters very quickly. You need to go beyond his lecture class to understand the basics of physics. If your going to take physics, please take another teacher!
Kumar was a great physics 1 teacher. I went into physics after not being in a physics class for 5 years. Kumar really REALLY REALLY cares about each of his students and their success in the class. I would 100% recommend him. Even If you aren't good with math, you can still get an A if you put the work in.
I had professor Kumar for Physics lab. He literally says nothing to the class and sits at his desk looking down the entire time. Doesn't explain the lab or how to get started you just go and do on your own. Final exam could have EASILY been cheated on though. Again didn't move from his desk and groups were communicating the whole time.
I took Professor Kumar for my Physics 1 Lab. Although he does give students freedom, he was always willing to help in order to get his students to understand and perform what the lab required.
