Great Guy, and a Nice Dresser

Elect Bigel for President in 2004! If he does not win that, we should at least make him Honorary UW-L Chancellor!!!!!!!!
Dr. Bigel is the most revered in my book! He knows his stuff and gives an excellent lecture. If I was about 20 years older I would marry this man and bring him home to my parents!
Great, great, great man!!! I want to have many children by him. I think he would make the greatest father ever. Maybe he is the father of the one I am carrying right now!!! Who knows?
This guy is by far my favorite Prof yet!! I hated politics until I took his class. His New York accent cracks me up. He is a must take!!! Everyone should be blessed with his amazing ability to teach politics!
Awesome teacher! Lots of tests so there isnt as much pressure when test day comes around...NY accent keeps class interesting, very into material...cant wait to take one of his upper level courses
Alan Bigel is Whitey Ford. And just like Ford, Bigel will someday have his own retirement ceremoney in Yankee stadium. If you're thinking about Law School take his class because Bigel's intellect is even mightier than Yogi Berra's!
Guy's like a computer, immediately corrects tests in a timely manner. Also, made me believe that I had the skills to be a lawyer. Dresses in nice suits so he sort of looks like a 1930s gangster.
Thank God for creating such a beautiful creature. Wow...and he teaches at a Division 3 school as well..incredible.
There is a ton of reading in the CON Law classes, but you don't really need to do any of it if you take notes. Guy is unbelievably knowledgable. If you are at all interested in the subject he is a god.
Dr. Bigel is the most intellegent professor on campus. He is an excellent speaker and is very easy to follow. No suprises in this class and no homework. Just keep up on the readings and the tests are a breeze.
He lectures well and is clear on the information he presents.
Great teacher, makes class very interesting and fun.
Bigel hasn't missed a day of class in 22 years, and wears snazzy suits every day. He's a paper grading machine; always has our tests back within a week. He clearly loves law, and makes his students love it too. Wonderful teacher.
Bigel is one of the best professors i've had here. He is a great speaker and is 100% clear on all material covered on tests. No homework is a definite plus! I would definitely recommend bigel for any class you may have to take...
Not recommend taking him because you won't know how your doing in the class.
He is a man of great intellect. He repeats everything that is on his "lecture" part of the test. His test are all essay. You do need to do a lot of reading, but keep up and you will get a A/B at not problem. Very Helpful.
Bigel's the greatest. I love that guy. Very professional. Wears nice suits! I thought he was a bit over repeatative, but otherwise awesome teacher. Very intelligent. Good speaker. Very clear what is expected, no tricks or anything. It's funny when he gets excited about Nixon, Bush, ect. Good times!
He was the best teacher I have ever had. he is very knowledgeable in the subject, and is willing to help. His class is hard, but if you pay attention you will do fine. Great teacher.
Justice Bigel is the greatest...he treats every student like family...i would marry this man if he weren't so opposed to gay marriage
Dr. Bigel is awesome, his knowledge for the subject is unsurpassed, and he knows how to argue his point and stay interesting and funny. You have a lot of exams but they are easy to get an A on. If you need Poly Sci credits, any of his classes are the way to go
Dr. Bigel is great! He's the best professor I've had here so far. It makes class so much fun!! And he takes a lot of pride in what he does!
Dr. Bigel is excellent! He is dedicated to his job and is very knowledgable. If you want to take an easy class and learn a lot then take Bigel.
Best Prof. I had in undergrad. Thanks to him I am in Law School. Top-notch all around.
Dr. Bigel definitely makes the class interesting but sometimes he talks about the same thing OVER and OVER. He gets really excited about everything he talks about, but the only thing I didn't like about him was how much he talked about how he hated Bush!!! OVerall, good class!
The best prof in LAX
Excellent teacher! Only class where I regularly get 100% on the tests. Got 100% on 5 tests this semester, including the final. Really helps prepare students for Law School. Really understanding! Best teacher!
No fun
Very passionate, funny, and teaches a subject he loves. Recommend him to everyone to have him for atleast one sem.
By far the best professor that i've had in 3 years at UW-L. I took this class just as a gen-ed, but I left wanting to be a poli-sci major just so I could have more classes with him. He is one of the smartest men I know and I think he should run for president!!
Someday, there will be a Bigel for Governor...Someday there will be a Bigel for President...a Bigel library...and finally we shall build a number of churches for this man. Pray before the Bigel. Pray!!!
The man is ****ing hot!!!! Oh, and he's a good teacher, too.
This professor is so smart, I can't believe he isn't teaching at Yale or Harvard. He is very unbiased on tests where he actually asks for your opinions. Tests are easy if you study a little before hand. Makes Politics interesting. You gotta love that New York accent too. This is your guy.
Helps students in every way that he can. He is perhaps the holiest person upon the planet, even more than the Pope! An absolute genius who deserves an alter by the Clock Tower where all can come to worship his diety. Hail to the Almighty Bigel!!!
In all seriousness, Professor Bigel is the greatest man alive on the face of this planet. In his honor, we must take a giant laser beam and carve his likeness into the surface of the moon. Everyone in the world must be required to display a picture of Bigel in the common area of their homes.
Took 101 for J-Term as a gen-ed not knowing who Professor Bigel was. I was very impressed. He made the whole move-all-your-stuff-to-another-dorm-for-a-month thing easily worth it. On his office door he has written "Alan Bigel, Future Justice", and he deserves to be one.
One of the best professors in LAX. He is very knowledgeable. Makes class interesting. Splits up the critera so tests aren't enormous. Tells funny stories. Bigel has my highest recommendation.
Bigel is an amazing man and perhaps the best professors on campus. He plans his whole curriculum in order to accomodate his students. He's absolutely brilliant and very thoughtful. He's single and it's a shame he's 51 because I would love to have his babies (they'd be future senators for sure)
SUPER SUPER easy class. Bigel by far a great teacher!! 5 exams plus final which isn't even cummulative! Go to lecture and take notes, and this class should be an ease! He's very helpful. Does take attendance...but very understanding if you need to miss! Exams super easy! Recommending him for sure!!!
i studied, i completely answered the questions, and he failed me miserably on my first exam... i dropped this course like it was hot and will never take class with him again ...hail this...
I took the Bigel for Con Law I. The impression was quickly made that Bigel is a reincarnated version of God Almighty. When his time on Earth is done, I am going to see to it that he lies in state beneath the Capitol rotunda, and then his body will be preserved like Lenin's, for all to see forever.

Bigel's an awesome prof. who actually cares about what he's teaching. When lecuturing, he goes at a good pace for note-taking, and if you study for just a little bit before the test, you can EASILY get an A. I totally recommend his class!
If more people in this world would follow the morals and social agenda held by the esteemed Prof. Bigel, the world would become an infinitely better place! There is no doubt about it, Bigel is the counterbalance to the liberal gay agenda found on most college campuses today. Bigel has no equals!!!
He is the greatest professor in the history of the world. He knows every little detail of everything he teaches and dedicates himself fully to his teachings and his work. He is a very fair grader and the most helpful professor I have ever had, and I have had many.
Rude and offensive, doesn't know boundaries and does not care about students.
This class was very easy and intersting. I really enjoyed it.
excellent prof
Polite about his own opinions, not forceful. Devotes his personal time to his work and his students. Always has open door for help or talks. Tests are difficult but if you take notes & read court cases can easily get 100s on them. (I have gotten 100s on both finals) I am lucky to have had him & am sorry I can't take all Con Laws. Wonderful man!
he is really good
lecture is not very structured and often goes off track to talk about issues.
He knows his stuff and cares a lot about students understanding the material. It's a fairly easy class if you take notes and read, all essay question exams. Also it was a great change hearing more conservative viewpoints on issues rather than the more common liberal ones. I would definitely recommend taking the class with him.
Best teacher ever! This class is very easy if you take notes, and read the assigned reading. I usually just read it all the night before the test and got an A on every exam. A very interesting guy.
Hard material, tests very challenging. Need substantial backup for your answers. Beware, studying and work required.
Great professor! You learn A LOT from him! He has genuine interest in his students and a HUGE interest in politics and the constitution! I recommend taking one of his courses!
He is by far the most respectable professor I have had at UW-L in my 3 years here. He is a man of integrity and honesty and I would highly recommend taking a class with him. Not only did I respect him but I learned a lot from him too. He presents information in a clear and interesting way and has a genuine passion for poli sci. Definitely take him!
Bigel is not only an excellent professor but a great man. He Is not a whiney liberal like most poly sci professors and doesn't force beliefs on his students. All essay exams are easy, just do the assigned reading the night before the exam. I wish i was married to this man.
I LOVE PROFESSOR BIGEL! HE IS MY ADVISOR AND I THINK HIS CLASSES ARE GREAT. I HAVE TAKEN ALL THE CON LAW'S INCLUDING ADMINISTRATIVE LAW.
He has been my favorite teacher so far. Hard, but very worth taking a class with him. I'd take him again in a heartbeat.
i wish that their was a better person to real teach the students
I have to say that i really liked this class... he is a great professor and man does he always spell good... i dont know what it is...haha... but he knows his stuff and he is very helpful when you have questions.. take the class if you get the chance!
Really a good teacher and very fair, but what a weirdo... doesn't anyone else get a creepy feeling from him?
Prof. Bigel is a great man. He's very respectable and intelligent. He's always willing to help you out, plenty of office hours. Lectures are very clear. Do all the reading and study a bit for the tests and you'll be fine. Take him if you get a chance!
Another great semester of Con Law
This class is completely bearable for the 4 hours. Yes, he repeats himself a bit, but Bigel makes it really interesting (for a subject I hate). You have to read A LOT, but if you can get ahead on reading the 1st weekend, you'll be fine. Tests are really easy (all essay/short answer). Highly, highly recommended.
Professor Bigel was an extremely helpful professor. I enjoyed going to his class even for four hours each day. He repeats important information to make sure each individual got every word of it which was nice when studying. I hope to take another class with him and it would be a shame for one not to have the opportunity to take him at some point
good teacher
I love professor Bigel, he's definitly the best teacher i've ever had! he's very fair and realistic. you have to attend most of the classes, but i hated government, and i loved going to this class! he makes it so interesting. i would definitly take him again, and i wish he taught everything! the accent isn't hard to understand at all.
Professor Bigel is what professors are like in old movies , respectful, helpful, knowledgeable and handsome.
This class almost made me wish I was going into political science! Extremely helpful and fair grader.
good lecturer
Wins award for best dressed. Passionate about the subject and extremely professional. Great lecturer and a funny guy. Noo Yawk accent is entertaining.
This guy is the standard against which all other professors should be measured. For all you losers complaining about his "conservative" views, the man is a LIBERTARIAN. There IS a distinction, and he does not force his views on anyone. Unlike most elitist professors out there he actually seems to care about the opinions of his students.
The Best Prof in LAX if only all the Profs cared as much as he did.
Friggen` smart as heck and educated on the topics. Boring lectures at times but a MUST take class. He never ceases to amaze the class. Humorous man also =]
The class material to me was very interesting, He rambled on quite a lot in class but its only because he is in love with the stuff. You don't need to do the readings just search for the case online, oyez.com helps a lot. Pretty easy class for me.
Al is a genious. This guy is buy far the most intelligent professor I've ever had. His lectures are great, he makes the material very intresting, and has tons of really sweet stories. I took his J-term class and it was awesome. I learned alot and got an easy A and 3 credits in 3 weeks. Everyone should take a class with Al.
Dr. Bigel is a man who is passionate about the subject he teaches. It really is fascinating to listen to his lectures. If you have any questions about something in class, go to his office & he will explain it to you, but make sure to plan at least an hour for the visit. Always a fair grader. Do the work = get results.
awesome
Smart - but from the dark side.
I don't think this old man has a life outside of class. Boring class.
Nice guy... great class... everyone that doesnt like this guy has problems... study, do your work, receive and A... this guy is smart and has a photographic memory....
Fantastic professor/ I absolutely love his class. Go to class listen take notes you will be fine. I have had him 6 times and i never opened a book once seriously! Just pay attention. Its usually intresting and Bigel has alot of passion for the class. It really shows!
Dr. Bigel is a very smart man. He tries hard to keep the lectures interesting. The only thing you do all semester is take 6 tests, no papers or anything else. The tests are easy if you study your notes and memorize the vocabulary at the end of the assigned chapters, usually about 10 or 15 words. I would highly recommend taking him for POL 101.
I love this class! If you are interested in law school, take any of his con law courses. If you are not intersted in law, these may not be the courses for you and I could understand how some may get bored. But I think the law is fascinating and Bigel makes it even more exciting.
Al is the reason why I chose to go to Law Schol. He makes Constitutional Law incredibly facinating! He has intellect to burn. He simply is brilliant and very humble. Do not let the suit fool you, there is a very humble individual underneath the suit and he truly cares about his students.I drove 60 miles one way just to take his classes.Would again!
I cant say anything bad about this man. I absolutely love and adore him. He is very smart and a great professor. His con law class was the deciding factor for me to go to law school. I have had almost every con law class ever offered and now there are eight. But only made it to con law 6. oh well. Great Professor probably the best on campus!
Awesome teacher!!! He is incredibly interesting, loves the subject, and know EVERYTHING about it! No homework, just graded on tests. (There are 9 + a final, so there are a lot of points.) Tests are all essay but extremely easy if you listen at all and read the book. Final isn't cumulative either! Take him!!!
Bigel is a very intelligent and passionate man. His lectures are enjoyable to listen to. There are nine exams plus a final, all essay. Final is non-cumulative. They are extremely simple if you pay attention and you HAVE TO do the readings. Bigel is great, by far my fav. prof. I even wanted to set him up with my mom he was so great! :)
Excellent! Take him!
Bigel for President in 2012!!
Awesome! I'm taking all of his Con Law classes! Dresses Well!
Professor Bigel is an amazing professor. If you are gonna randomly take Poly sci take him, I thought I was going to hate this class but he made it very interesting and I loved going every time, even though its not mandatory to go to every class
Great professor! I took this class for one of my gen eds, and it was actually very interesting. I highly recommend taking him! Very nice guy, and I love his accent:)
Awesome prof. lectures almost like it is a story which keeps class interesting. Always makes sure you understand and repeats whatever you need repeated. His tests are straight forward and if you know your stuff you can get an A no problem. Come to class and read the book. He is a great guy, down to earth, understanding, and has a fun accent:)
Bigel is a fabulous professor. He really knows what he's talking about and is really passionate about the material. I disagree with many of his views but am planning on taking his conlaw classes because he really does teach the material really well.
Best professor I have ever had. Teaches and dresses well. You will not be disappointed.
Bigel is one of the best professors I have had (along with Eric Kraemer in the PHL dept.) He takes his job very seriously and has a very cut and dry approach to teaching and grading. There were six exams, all essays, and that is the entire grade. He uses a pure lecture format, no PowerPoints or distracting notes on the board, but he is very clear
Dr. Bigel was great!! He has an obvious passion for his job and loves teaching. His 101 class was pretty easy as long as you did the readings. He was a great teacher and i almost want to take his con. law classes even though I am a bio major. Take Him if you can!!
Great professor! He really wants to help and is very clear in his lecture. As long as you understand the case law you will do very well on the exams!
Alan BIGEL is the most AMAZING professor I have ever had!! He is so passionate about his work, his students, everything con law. I am one of the few students that has taken all 8 con law classes. I got an A in every single one. He is clear and his exams are fun, but long because its all essay based.
Great! Straight lectures, essay tests. Not too difficult. Disagreed with a lot of his views but he's very respectful of others opinions and wants you to share them. Very clear, helpful and friendly! Highly recommend!
By far one of the best professors I've ever had. His tests are easy, he tells great stories, his New York accent is so entertaining to listen to, and he is so willing to help you and make the class fun and intersting for you it's almost impossible not to get an A or AB.
Greatest teacher at UWL! He is very helpful and passionate about Con Law. If you show up to class and take good notes then you will do well on all the tests.
Great teacher! Tests are easy and lectures are funny. He lets you go to either section of class he has so if you want to sleep in one day you can!
Professor Bigel doesn't use any technology, but that being said he is a very good lecturer and I learned a lot more from him than I would've from a powerpoint. He very passionate about his teaching and you get used to the NY accent eventually! Highly recommend!
By far my favorite teach at UW-L. You might as well stop reading and just enroll in his class if you have the chance. He has over 100 reviews and not one of them is negative. Great, down to earth man who's extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
He is an amazing professor! I didn't really know anything about government but the class was very interesting. My favorite to go to. Readings from the book but mostly vocab and major topics. He loves Ronald Reagan. Easy class, great man.
Such a great professor. He doesn't use any form of technology but is still very easy to take notes off of his lectures. Tests are all easy but you get to choose what questions you answer. Also read the small amount of reading before each test and your set. Would easily take him again!
Read the Chapters he gives you and take notes on what he repeats in class. He knows his stuff and doesn't go outside of the lines. Also be detailed on your essay exams if you can. And I loved his suites and ties!
He's a great professor, his tests are easy (you get to choose between essay questions) and he makes lectures interesting. definitely take this class if you have the chance!!
A very inspirational person that I have been blessed to meet. His class was by far my favorite to come to, and it's a shame that I don't have a need for any pre-law courses, because I would LOVE to have taken him again. He has a passion for teaching and would drop anything to help you out. Great class, and an amazing classy professor.
Bigel's a little weird but he's really good at what he does! Excellent prof! Straight lectures, essay exams. go to class and you'll do well. Loves when you share you're opinion (even if he disagrees) Very helpful if you ever need anything.
If I could major in Alan Bigel I would. I wish i could take every class taught by him at UWL and i wish he taught every one of my classes. Dr. Bigel is the best professor at UWL by far. If you talk with him once he will remeber you and care a great deal about you throughout your college career wether you take him again or not. He is a profound man.
Dr. Bigel is the best professor at UWL. If every person was more like him our country would be a better place. He is a wonderful conservative voice on campus. I am going to model my teaching style after him becuase he knows what he's doing. He can teach even the most uninterested student about political science. He should be teaching at Harvard.
He's the reason I'm now at one of the top law schools in the country. Enough said.
Although we are on differing political sides, Bigel is always respectful and never pushy. He makes the course work clear and if you have any questions, he will do everything he can to answer them! I was dreading this class but actually enjoyed it! Great professor, would take another class from him!!!
My favorite professor, very helpful. Great sense of humor, sometime not very P.C. which is awesome. doesn't use powerpoint, which I love
Dr Bigel is phenomenal! He's one of the most helpful and caring professors when it comes to his students. When he says he wants to see everyone succeed, he definitely means it. Had him for Poli sci 101, and it caused me to pick up a poli sci minor. He's awesome. Take him.
Very Good prof! Couldn't ask for a better guy in general!
Awesome professor!! Really cares about student's opinions and values class discussion. He lectures without technology & tests are all essays, but easy if you paid attention. His stories are engaging & he's very passionate. He broke his ankle 3/4 through the semester so we got a local lawyer to finish the class out.
Professor Bigel was a really good professor and showed extreme interest in his students and the content. Very respected man and highly educated. Teaches as if telling stories and lectures are always interesting because there are fun facts to keep you entertained, I highly recommend him.
I absolutely hated this class. He was rarely on topic and seemed to use the class to tell his own personal stories and opinions rather than actually teach. Attendance is mandatory but barely anything he talks about in class was on the tests. I would not recommend this class at all.
The best professor UWL has to offer. INCREDIBLY knowledgable and hilarious. Take him !!
Amazing professor! Really makes the class interesting! Teaches the class like he's telling a story; he really knows what he's talking about.
Take him if you can! Best professor I have ever had. He makes the class so enjoyable, I truly looked forward to comming to his class everyday. He makes it easy to learn and makes you really interested to learn too. I wish I could take him for more classes!
Professor Bigel is probably one of the most dedicated professors I've had so far in college. He cares so much about his students and the subjects he teaches. He's very well-spoken and he's as clever as a fox. Also, he's a George Carlin fan - big ups for that!
Dr. Bigel is the best
Awesome guy! Easily one of the most knowledgeable person I've ever met. Additionally, his memory is a steal trap. Guarantee he knows what he had for breakfast November 15th, 1976. All test are beyond fair; however, you need to know your material. Not even a POL major and made the class extremely interesting. Best 90 minute lecture you'll get.
Take him! By far the best professor I've had here at UWL. Just an overall great guy and he makes his courses very enjoyable.
Professor Bigel is by far one of my favorite professors. Extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help you if you have any concerns or questions! Take him, you won't regret it!
He was my favorite professor and made a gen ed not horrible! All exams had 5-10 short essay questions. You get to choose about 75% of the questions to answer and don't have to worry about the rest. He doesn't try to trick you. 6 exams make up the grade. The final isn't cumulative, only another exam worth more. Extremely nice and helpful! Take him!!
Take him! He's a very interesting person, very helpful and always makes sure the material is clear. All exams, be sure to do the readings! You can miss up to 3 classes unexcused before it affects your grade. I wish I could the him again! Had a great time P. Bigel, hope to see you around Centennial next year!
I have nothing but good things to say about Bigel. He is a great guy, fair grader, and the topics he lectures on very interesting. It also helps that he's a funny guy. I did not intend on taking another Constitutional Law class, but now I am just because I like Bigel and what he has to say.
Bigel is a cool dude with a thick New York accent which makes him hard to understand for the first few classes. Had no clue what the tests were like so I went in blind and was rudely awakened. Test scores got better each time. Good class to take to fill as an easy gen ed. Overall fair grader and good professor.
Bigel is the best professor I've had. His knowledge of the subject is obvious in his teaching. He's always willing to meet with you outside of class if you need help. As long as you attend class and keep up with the reading you will have no problems passing. Also, the New York accent and various Fred Astaire references sure make class interesting.
He is a really easy grader on tests. You need to read the book but it isn't a lot. He really focuses on vocab. He likes to tell stories and tends to ramble on about things and you wish he would get to the point and let you out early. He never cancels class, but skipping one wont kill your grade because he repeats everything 17 times. VERY EASY!!
Professor Bigel displays incredible knowledge on the Constitution and Supreme Court cases. He was very clear on course expectations and was always willing to answer questions and even re-explain things in his lectures. He is by far the best professor I have ever taken. He clearly loves what he does.
Professor Bigel was wonderful. He's been teaching the same class for 30 years, but still finds it interesting and loves teaching. He really cares about everyone, and will help you whenever you need it. There are 5 essays, very easy as long as you go to lectures and read the book. He doesn't try to trick anyone, he truly wants everyone to pass.
Great man and a great class. Very clear cut and no reason not to do well in this class.
Alan Bigel is an interesting Prof and clearly loves his job. Long lectures but worth listening too if your really are interested in Con. Law . He requires no more than 4 missed classes before he deducts points. 3 Papers (5 pgs each) and 5 Exams throughout. Exams are not difficult if you read the law cases with understanding. Only HW is Reading.
Dr. Bigel is an amazing professor. I would take him again in a heart beat! Super easy to sit through his lectures. Doesn't use powerpoint which is nice. Always willing to help!
Professor Bigel is an amazing professor. He LOVES the topics he teaches and gets really into it. He is very dedicated and will always answer your emails promptly. There were quite a few short answer tests but he was a very lenient grader. He makes lectures interesting to listen to. If you can TAKE HIM! You won't regret it!
Alan I. Bigel. What an outstanding Professor. Make sure you go over the cases. Understanding the content of the ruling on each. This man will inspire you and it very understanding. Just an overall great person.
Bigel is a great professor and you can tell he lives for what he's teaching. There is a lot of material covered over the semester but he does a great job explaining all of it. If you aren't clear on something, just ask and he'll take the time to walk you through it until you understand it. I wish more professors had his enthusiasm.
He has been one of my favorite professors so far. I normally hate political science type stuff, but he makes the material come to life. He does NOT make you memorize useless information. Attendance is mandatory, but he lets you miss some lectures. He's really good at answering questions. It's easy to respect him because he respects you.
Professor Bigel is one of the best political science teacher at this school. I learned a lot and really enjoyed what I learned. Bigel is passionate about Con Law and really wants his students to succeed. 4 exams but they are easy if you explain yourself clearly. 2 papers but they are based on cases in class. GREAT Professor .
Dr. Bigel is one of the best professors at UWL. He has a passion for the material and loves teaching students. He is very helpful to students and wants you to succeed. If you love political science and are thinking about law school you should take his class.
He is a wonderful teacher and I loved his class. I am taking another one of his classes next semester and continue to plan on it every semester after that. He loves Constitutional law and he lived through some of the cases he talks about which adds to his lectures. He has a lot of passion and it is shown in his lectures. I love him and his class.
Probably the best professor on campus in my opinion. Always looked forward to class and his lecture. He has been at the university forever so he really knows what he is doing. strong in his views on the constitution and politics but always loves to here what your views are and says everyone has a right to there own opinion.
Bigel is a very intelligent professor when it comes to Constitutional Law. He is very informative and has very specific way of lecturing and testing. There are no "required readings", rather recommended; to pass the "in-class essay exams". The exams are not difficult if you keep up on the readings. He is lenient with grading/papers if appropriate.
Professor Bigel is my favorite professor I have taken at UWL to date. He is a very interesting man and is very personable when speaking with him. His lectures are super interesting and it's really cool because he does it all from memory. The only grades in the class are his exams, but no worries.. they are so easy! I literally got 100% in the class
If you are lucky enough to get the chance to take this professor, DO IT! He is amazing. Clear and concise lectures from memory, wonderful anecdotes, and reasonable expectations from students. Never makes anyone volunteer. He cares a ton about each and every student, and it is very apparent. I wish more professors were like him.
Dr. Bigel is a great guy. He has an amazing memory and lectures the whole semester without notes. His stories make the class fun and interesting. Really, this was an easy class with an awesome prof.
Bigel, where do I start? He is my favorite professor so far. His class is not difficult so long as you pay attention in class and take good notes since he does not use any visual aids. I loved this class. He has great stories that help you relate to the material. P.S. I know you'll be reading this Bigel, keep up the good work!
This guy is super easy. Says everything 3 times so you don't even have to study the lecture material. Probably the reason I took a political science major.
Amazing professor! If you need to take a PolySci class and don't like Politics, this is the class you should take. He is older and lived through most of what he teaches, so he has personal stories. He has all of his lectures memorized and repeats everything he says multiple times.
Enjoyed every bit of this class! He is extremely professional and very easy going. If you take notes, which he makes very clear and easy to follow then tests are easy. There is some reading, but nothing crazy. Very motivational, and inspirational and helpful all around. Gave me comfort in choosing the path of Pre-law by taking this course. AWESOME!
Absolutely amazing, would highly recommend.
LOVE HIM! He uses no technology in lecture yet I feel like I learned the most just listening to his stories. He is so passionate & after 30 odd years still has great revere for his students. He makes himself so available to students. I've never had a prof. with such passion, respect, and character. He is encouraging, engaging, and very open minded.
Professor Bigel is my favorite professor that I have had. All the tests are short answer questions, but honestly they are very easy. He doesn't surprise you with any of the material and everything on the test he goes over in lecture or is in the book. He only assigns some reading, but it's not that bad. He's a really good teacher and nice guy! 10/10
Dr. Bigel is probably one of the nicest profs I've ever had. Every exam is based off lecture and a little bit of reading and notes are not on D2L so I would recommend not skipping class or finding someone to get you notes if you miss. Tells lots of stories and is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his classes. Would definitely recommend!
Kind, genuine, and an all around good guy. I really looked forward coming to class every week. Puts emotion into his lectures and really cares about what he is teaching and who he is teaching to.
Professor Bigel is great. He doesnt use technology and does lecture a lot. However, he tells many stories of what it was like for him during the 60s and onward, which are interesting to hear. He is an honest grader, with exams being his only grades. Youll pass if you listen and read the material. I highly recommend him if you like a lot of stories.
Extremely respectful, honest, fair, and all around just a very nice, pleasant man. He makes his lectures interesting by including a lot of personal stories and by just being very passionate and knowledgeable on the subject. I'm not majoring in POL but I definitely would take more classes with him just because he's awesome. Highly recommend.
Overall just a great teacher and person. I would take his class 3000 times over. Probably the best class and teacher I have ever had and he makes showing up to class not nearly as bad as other classes. 11/10 would recommend.
Dr. Bigel is the best. I was the only one who got a perfect score on every exam in the class and he made sure I knew how much he was rooting for me the whole way. Must attend lecture as there are no other notes. I recommend a laptop to make it easier to keep up. His lectures are interesting and it is clear he is passionate about his work!
You want to take Prof. Bigel. I despise politics and government, yet I looked forward to going to every class. He has mastered teaching this class. He is incredibly knowledgable on the subject, yet doesn't expect you to know everything. He has great stories, and his New York accent makes everything more enjoyable. A fair grader and caring person.
Professor Bigel is the man. Took the class just for 3 quick credits and I got a lot out of it. Exams are pretty easy if you go to class and take good notes. Has many great stories that make class awesome, highly recommend Bigel!
Professor Bigel is one of the greatest profs I've ever had. He knows so much about what he's talking about (because he actually lived through it), tells you exactly what you need to know, super laid back about attendance, eager to answer questions, hours upon hours of office hours. If you listen to him and read the few pages he assigns, you're good
Prof Bigel is the goat. He is a nice old guy who lived through everything he taught so his life stories make it interesting. Attendance policy is very easy going, but I don't recommend missing class as all the exams are based on lectures. Just a few quizzes and a non cumulative final are the only grades. This man is the goat with maximum clout.
Prof Bigel is honestly the best. Show up to class and read the chapters its an easy and fun A. He makes every letcture interesting and hes super funny. Even if you dont like govt youll find yourself interested and youll learn things. He doesnt use technology so be sure to take notes!
Professor Biegel has several pros which make him a professor that i would not only take again, but that I have continually learned from all semester. During class you take lots of notes on discussion straight from his mouth (no slides) and tests are based on this and reading from the textbook (outside of class)
Professor Bigel is the best professor I've had at UWL. He made classes fun and had a ton of experience in his life that he can relate to class. The exams were pretty easy. He doesn't use technology much besides emailing people but otherwise he's just a great guy to come and listen to.
Gives great feedback, lectures are amazing, informative to unreal extents. Everything is layed out very well, and no technology is required in the class. Tests are based on the class material he lectures, and the other half of the test is based on readings that he clearly describes. Highly recommend, Professor Bigel is my favorite.
Doesnt use any technology but lectures are still interesting. He speaks in front of the class for the whole lecture but gives enough time to get the information down. Laptop notes recommended. If you go to lecture and read the book its an easy A
Professor Bigel doesn't use technology at all but he knows all of the information he's teaching so well because besides the first lesson, he has lived through all of it. He does a great job keeping a lecture humorous and gives breaks almost every day to make sure he keeps everyone attentive!
Very knowledable professor. However, he doesnt use any technology and doesnt have a D2L page. Also, all tests are short answer tests. Lectures can get a little long and boring but overall great teacher and good class.
A lot of exams, that is all you're graded on, BUT the exams are easy if you go to class and read book. Part 1 of the exams are about the class lecture and part 2 is about the reading. He over explains everything so that everyone gets the general concept. He gets grades back in the next class. You have 6 class skips b4 grade drops. GREAT professor.
hes a great professor. doesn't use d2l or have any notes to get if you skip, but its usually not a problem because he explains very well, and his office hours have so much availability. take him if you can!!! so worth it!
Professor Bigel is a professor who is clearly passionate about political science, and this passion makes him a professor who cares about teaching students. He doesn't believe in busy work and exams are essay based, but he gives so many choices of what to answer and he is curious about what you know, not looking for what you don't. Great class!
Professor Bigel is easily the most caring professor & is the only college professor that I've ever had remember that college students are human beings with other classes. His lectures are long & he has a bad habit of repeating himself, but the material is easy to learn if you're interested in it. He genuinely wants to hear your opinions & thoughts.
Professor Bigel is 100% my favorite professor of all time. He truly is the most easy going professor I have ever had and has great lectures. His lectures are interesting and very colorful. He is very outgoing and truly loves his class, I would recommend taking his class.
Dr. Bigel is by far my favorite professor. He is very clear on his expectations and he is clear on the information he wants you to know for exams. He does not use any visuals while lecturing so you really get to sit and listen to him tell a story every class. He is so passionate about what he lectures on that it makes it very enjoyable! Take him!
Professor Bigel is an amazing professor! He is very personable and is willing to help you out in any way. He lectures the whole class period and uses no slides. However, he will stop and repeat important aspects to know several times. The exams are essay exams and are pretty easy if you take notes during class. Take professor Bigel!
Best professor I've had! Unbelievably knowledgeable and helpful. We did have 6 tests, but it was very clear as to what would be on them (and they were all short answer questions) and he is a gracious grader. Only possible complaint would be he does not use D2L or powerpoints, so if you miss class it is hard to get the material you missed.
POL374 is not for the faint of heart. It deals with some pretty controversial topics (death penalty, abortion, and doctor-assisted suicide). It is certainly an interesting class though, and Professor Bigel is easily one of the best out there to teach it! My favorite professor at UW-L by far! Side note: I put the first comment because he asked haha
Absolutely loved this class! He is such a great guy, and his lectures are not boring at all! Time Flies! He gives you exactly what you need to know for the test, without giving you extra fluff! My favorite professor so far, and would highly recommend for everyone to take this class!
Professor Bigel is a phenomenal teacher to say the least. I would not be picking up a Constitutional Law minor if he hadn't been teaching the course. All tests are based on lecture, and his lectures are entertaining and easy to follow. If you're into concepts OVER mindless memorization of nitpicking facts, definitely sign up for Prof. Bigel.
Professor Bigel is a great professor that cares about his students. He is always available to help students. His classes are very interesting and worth taking!
Bigel is a great professor! His right to life class is extremely interesting. The exams are straight forwarded. He provides excellent feedback and is always prepared to discuss any topic with you. I am excited to take him again. I would highly recommend this class!
12/10 WOULD RECOMMEND TAKING PROFESSOR BIGEL. I was very nervous signing up for a constitutional law class however, Prof. Bigel made this class enjoyable. He lectures every day BUT the lecture material is very interesting and he is very entertaining. His humor and kindness is undeniable.
This professor cares about his student more than any other professor I've ever had. I have had two classes with him and each have been great, interesting classes. He does not use power points, he talks off the top of his head so he is wildly knowledgeable. He talks about tough issues very objectively and gives students the benefit of the doubt.
I would 100% recommend taking Professor Bigels class! He is a heavy lecturer who encourages participation but will fill the time if you dont want to talk. All the tests are written and based on very manageable hypotheticals. He is a wonderful guy who will bend over backwards for his students.
If you are looking for an interesting law class with an emphasis in administrative law i would strongly suggest taking this class. Bigel goes out of his way to make sure that al of your questions are answered and replies to emails within the hour. This class is easy to listen to with information very applicable to your everyday life.
Where to begin with Bigel... He is SO funny his lectures are interesting. He has 6 exams throughout the semester which was fantastic because each exam then had only a little bit of material to cover. If you come to lecture and take good notes you will do really well on exams. He is very flexible and is always happy to accommodate however he can.
Prof Bigel was an amazing professor. Great lectures that did get a little long but they were always interesting when he shared his personal stories. There is some book reading but it was too bad and could be done the night before the exam. If you get a chance to take from him you should!!
Good professor but does his lectures by memory instead of powerpoints. Really knows his stuff and if you take good notes and do the readings you will do fine
Such an amazing professor!! Honestly! He really knows what he's talking about, especially because he does his lectures by memory; so make sure you take notes on what he talks about, particularly anything her repeats more than three times. His exams are all short answer/few essays. Make sure you read the book!! Some questions pertain to that.
If you are never absent you can email and it doesnt count against number of absences. Very engaging in class and teaches the same style in different courses.
Grade is based on 5 exams and 2 papers. Exams are hypotheticals which give you a lot of leeway in your answer, not memorization. Lots of times to do the papers. Attend lectures and you'll pass no problem
If you get the chance to take Professor Bigel for any of the 8 Con Laws or POL 101 do it! He is the epitome of a gentleman that will do anything in his power to help you. He tells wonderful stories, and you'll probably hear them more than once if you take him again. I loved all of the 5 classes I took with him. I will remember him more than any PHD
Professor Bigel was by far the best professor I have had so far. He is a real, genuine person who truly loves what he does. He is always open to answering any question you may have and is eager to have conversations with his students. He really knows what he is talking about and he explains it very clearly, which makes it easier to learn.
Professor Bigel is my absolute favorite professor. He has a passion for teaching con law and that shows in the classroom. He is a fair grader and is 100% always there to meet or answer your emails. His attendance policy is very fair and all you have to do is notify him if you aren't going to be there. I 100% recommend taking Professor Bigel!
Professor Bigel is an absolute electric factory. I would recommend this class to anyone who has a slight interest in American government. Dr. Bigel is an extremely fair grader and deeply cares about his students. Overall, you definitely won't regret taking this course with Dr. Bigel.
This class was one of my favorites at UWL! Professor Bigel is a wonderful professor who is very passionate about what he teaches. None of the exams are cumulative and are usually very do-able if you take good notes in class. He cares very much about his students, take this class!
The best class Ive ever taken. The fourth class for which Ive had Bigel, hes been nothing short of an inspirational mentor and this class is his finest work. If you have any interest in Constituonal Law I highly recommend this class. The reason I marked attendance as mandatory is because youll love the content.
he does not use technology in class and he doesnt need to. His lectures are more personal with out them and he cares for all his students success. He is in his office till midnight and will answer any emails with delight.
Dr. Bigel is an excellent professor. I was hesitant, but he discusses a wide range of cases that really enhance your understanding of ConLaw. The exams are easy - know the concept of the cases and have an opinion and you'll get a good score (I didn't get less than 99.99% on any exam or paper). Friendly. Smart. Great class, wish I took more.
He was awesome. My favorite professor, by far. Highly recommend! You don't use any of the online regular portals and he does almost everything in paper, so be prepared for that. He loves hearing your opinions and thoughts. He will play devil's advocate, just to get you thinking
Hes a great professor. He uses no technology and all of his exams are essay exams but they are straight forward. Hes very caring and very accessible outside of class. He knows his material VERY well. Hes a great professor overall and I would highly recommend even if this class isnt for your major.
Professor Bigel is an absolute awesome professor. I would recommend this class to anyone who has a slight interest in American government. Dr. Bigel is an extremely fair grader and deeply cares about his students. You will not regret taking this course with Dr. Bigel.
Dr. Bigel is one of the best professors Ive had here at lacrosse. There are 4 tests throughout the semester and they consist of hypotheticals and opinion questions based on the case law so just know the cases and youll be fine. There are also 2 five page papers based on Harvard law review articles which are pretty easy too. Highly recommended
Outstanding professor
Professor Bigel's favorite class to teach: 1787 & Original Intent. This class is not like the other classes he teaches (which are all great as well). In 1787 you will sit down as a class and read selections of writings about the topic at hand, after which you will write a paper for nearly every reading. This class is not for the faint of heart.
As a freshman here... I know that I might never ever get to have a professor like him again. Never in my life have I jumped out of bed at 9 am to run to a lecture. Thats how fascinating they are... Imagine watching the history channel live. It's just like that. I seriously love this man and his class more than any other.... its as simple as that.
Alan gives amazing lecture. He doesn't use powerpoint and lectures from his memory. He has lots of passion and experience in political science and he makes every class very entertaining.
Professor Bigel is the best professor in this field of study. Seldom have I come across an instructor with his level of understanding towards a topic. His lectures are performed entirely off memory with no notes and he maintains a perfect schedule clearly outlined in syllabus. Fantastic.
Professor Bigel is well respected and well versed. His knowledge is deep, and his passion for his course material is apparent. Given the chance, everyone should take one of his classes
Professor Bigel is very respectable and shows that he cares about his students. He is very knowledge on the class subject and shows it through his lectures, that are all straight from memory. The class schedule is clear and with one/two papers and about three or four exams in the semester the class tends to be a breeze. Highly recommend!
I really liked this professor. He does a really good.
Dr. Bigel is an amazing teacher. He lectures from memory and its like he was actually there. He makes the driest material sound entertaining, and its super obvious he loves what he does. You should absolutely try and have him as a teacher, he cares so much about students and is very reasonable grading. Theres no homework or essays & little reading
Dr. Bigel is one of those teachers that truly loves what he does and wants you to succeed. He understands that you may not be interested in what hes teaching and does his best to make it easy for you. But even if you dont care one bit about government his lectures still somehow manage to be fascinating. He lectures like heS telling a story TAKE HIM
I LOVE BIGEL. Honestly he is the best professor I have ever had. He genuinely cares about his students and makes himself available for any questions you might have or just for small chat. I forgot I changed my email picture to my dog for a zoom background and at the bottom of the email he mentioned that my dog was cool. You wont find a better prof.
Bigel is the best professor I've ever had. I've taken him for 5 different semesters, would have him teach every class if I had the opportunity. Never met someone so passionate about the Constitution, and it shows in his lectures. He's super flexible and you'll certainly get an A if you listen in class and write well - he's a must take.
GOD BLESS THIS MANS SOUL! He's a TRUE 5 star professor. Very caring, considering, understanding, passionate, humble, and thoughtful professor. He takes his own time and money to mail students materials that they missed. I've never had such a prolific professor/teacher in my life. Without hesitation, take professor Bigel. He will be missed.
Hands down one of the nicest people I've met. We talked quite a bit after class and he very knowledgeable about modern day politics and the constitution. He was very accommodating when I was sick and he genuinely wants his students to succeed. There was never any homework besides the occasional textbook reading for exams. I would highly recommend!
Professor Bigel truly cares about his students and he knows what he's teaching. He lectures off the top of his head and makes what could be very dry material sound entertaining. It was great to have an in person class and he was super accommodating both times we went online. He understands you have other stuff going on and is there if you need him.
I have not experienced a more impactful professor than Alan Bigel. During a long conversation I shared with Bigel he mentioned the concept that in a few years I'll forget the material of the courses I took, but I'll never forget how the prof made me feel. The material I learned in POL376 will slowly fade away, but his impact never will be forgotten
Amazing lectures which connects the course material to your everyday life. BEST Con Law course at UWL. Best prof at UWL. Provides great feedback on paper assignments/exams. Frequent email reminders. Works to connect with students and always has the floor open (in person and online) for students to share their views, ask questions, and respond.
This is the second course I've had with Bigel and although it wasn't as fun as Con Law: 1A, it was still an awesome class. The exams were still easy hypotheticals, and the only real negative aspect of the class was the 15 page paper based on an assigned book (easier than you'd think). Take this class and/or professor if you have the chance!
Prof Bigel is a great man and truly has a passion for what he teaches. Attendance is mandatory, especially since he doesnt use ANYTHING for lectures- no notes, ppts, etc, just him speaking solely from memory. He does not use canvas. For the few weeks we were online he emailed us the lectures. Graded on 4 exams and a final, but were pretty easy.
Professor Bigel Does a great job of explaining topics and has a lot of passion for what he teaches. I have taken two of his classes so far and they have been pretty easy to get an A but also rewarding in the subject matter and the impact of how he teaches it.
Best professor I have had. His lectures are fascinating. He is a little old fashion but connects really well with his students. My goal is to take all 8 of his classes before he retires. Everyone should take one of his Con Law classes if they can. I have learned more in his classes than in any other class I have taken. Wonderful man!
His exams are not cumulative and he really knows his stuff (mainly because he was alive through most of it). He's really open to learning; Dr. Bigel is very old-fashioned, but is easy to correct when he says something outdated. His classes are lecture-focused, but he does take attendance. You do not need to read the assigned readings to pass.
Professor Bigel is an AWESOME professor and guy. He is very understanding, and will be open to giving you an extension if you need it. His lectures are all from his knowledge of the topic, and he does not use canvas. This makes it pretty engaging. If you get the chance, take his Con Law courses. Very intriguing.
Professor Bigel is my favorite professor I have had so far. He makes the content interesting. He often jokes that he has been around for everything he covers except 1787. No slides that go with his lecture. His exams are pretty straightforward, and you are allowed a certain number of absences before he lowers your grade. Great man.
Dr. Bigel is one of my favorite professors Ive had, there are only 6 tests that you are graded on throughout the semester, but they are all pretty easy as long as you pay attention during the lectures. Hes also a really nice guy who wants to see you succeed! 100/10 would recommend you take him!!
I have been graduated for six years, but recently I felt compelled to write a review for Professor Bigel. I had a lot of professors during my time at UWL, but he is the one that made the most difference in my life. I was apprehensive to take Pol101, but once I took that with him, I ended up taking four Con Law classes! He is a true gem. Take him!
I took Alan for POL 101 and loved it! Super great if you need an easy gen Ed or looking to be a political science major. Really cares about his students and has great communication.
I love Professor Bigel. He is a very nice man and gives great feedback on tests. He is hilarious, and always positive. Take his classes if you have the chance.
Professor Bigel is amazing! He is very knowledgeable about the course material and gets very excited when teaching!
DOES NOT USE CANVAS and only grades 5 exams the whole course. He does not use slideshows or any other form of aid in lecture, just verbal teachings. It's super easy as long as you show up to lecture and catch the important things he says (plus he repeats the important ideas like 4 times so it's kind of impossible to miss it).
I transferred out of UWL and still think of how great Bigel was. He cares deeply for his students and their success. His lectures do not have notes, but are so great you want to write down everything he says. He will work with you through personal issues and make sure you get a good grade. 1000/10 professor, I would transfer back to have him again.
Excellent professor. Professor Bigel does not use any presentations or visual aids while lecturing, he simply remembers and speaks the needed information. The only graded assignments are the tests, everything that you will need to do to get a good grade is pay attention in class, take good notes, and read the assigned sections from the textbook.
Very knowledge person in all subjects of constitutional law dealing with Supreme Court cases. Show up to class, listen, and take notes and you will do just fine in his classes.
Prof Bigel is the best professor I have ever taken! He makes the content very interesting and is overall a great guy who listens to and cares about his students! I absolutely recommend any class by him! So sad to hear he is retiring soon
Professor Bigel taught some very heavy topics in Right to Life. It isn't for the faint-hearted ;). It is very similar to his other Con Law classes in structure, several law review articles to write over the course of the semester and a few exams where you are given case summaries. If you show up, are attentive, and take notes, you will do just fine
Criminal Procedure has some interesting characters within the case law. This class is similar to other Con Law classes in structure. Two law review article papers and four or five exams throughout the semester. The exams are taken with a case summary and mainly hypothetical questions. Show up, take notes and you'll know more than some prosecutors.
Professor Bigel is a one of a kind instructor. His teaching method relies heavily on decades of in-depth research taught through detailed lectures. It is true he does not use technology such as Canvas, Powerpoint, or visual aids, but the way he is able to discuss key concepts in his lectures surpasses modern means of teaching. The BEST professor.
Professor Bigel truly believes this is the best class you will ever take in college, and he may be onto something there. He wants to make it that way, and has been willing to (reasonably) adjust due dates for papers so we can take our time on them. No in-class tests unlike his other classes. Pre-law folks, you missed out!
Professor Bigel is a great professor and generally a fun person to listen to. He is very willing to help students if they have questions. If you read the textbook and pay attention during lectures, you will pass the class no problem.
Professor Bigel is an incredible prof, he does not use technology and teaches from life experiences and has the information memorized. Attendance is mandatory but he is very understanding and flexible with illness. Make a friend in that class though so you can get notes if you do miss as there is no canvas page! Tests are set up amazing forsuccess
Prof. Bigel is the embodiment of elderly wisdom. His POL101 is similar to story-telling, if you ask me. It is barely challenging if you already follow politics, which can make the class a little boring. While there can be some factual inaccuracies in what he says, he is open to hearing everybody's opinion and puts an emphasis on free speech
Favorite Professor easily!
Professor Bigel is amazing. If you are taking any POL classes, you need to take him as a professor. Attendance is mandatory, at least in 101. He sends around an attendance sheet at the start of class. His tests are relatively easy, but you NEED to do the reading. I cannot recommend him enough. He is the best teacher you will ever have.
This university is blessed to have this man on our campus. The best professor, the best human being, and the smartest person I have ever met in my life. If you want your time at UWL to be more than memorable, I would enroll in his classes every semester.
Professor Bigel is my favorite professor / teacher I have ever had. I looked forwards to each class because his lectures were just that interesting. He responds to emails quickly and effectively. 100% recommend taking Bigel, his class helped me discover my interest in poly sci. Also, participating just makes each class more enjoyable.
Probably the most knowledgeable and humble professor I have ever had. Doesn't use canvas or slide shows, just teaches from memory every single class. Clearly outlines what you need to have in your notes and repeats important topics so you don't miss them. Take his class and you will have an easy A and the best teacher at UW-La Crosse.
This professor is someone you want as a professor here at UWL. He doesn't have canvas so sometimes it's hard to stay organized, however, the lectures are super easy to understand and all the information is really easy to attain.
I loved this class. He is 70 yrs old, but is truly so sweet and caring. He is very knowledgeable. He doesn't use canvas which can be confusing, but he is very clear about due dates and what will be on the tests. If you pay attention you will do fine. It's not very much work at all. If you go to his office hour he grades easier! truly so kind!
Professor Bigel is a caring professor and he is lenient with grading. He is also very understanding and easy to approach. The downside is that he does not use canvas. All of the lectures are long, and there are no slides or notes on the board. However, he provides you with notes that you can use on the tests so it really isn't that bad.
Took this class because of the topic name of constitutional law, and didn't live up to expectations.
I love Professor Bigel. He's super passionate and outspoken about Conlaw and his opinions. He's caring and understanding and is willing to work with you. There are only two papers and three exams (+ final), but his grading is easy. As long as you make a claim and support it with the case material, ur good. Will be taking more of his classes.
Don't let the 5/5 distract you, Professor Bigel is a standup man and is amazing as a human being but as a professor his methods are just a bit out of touch. You are only graded on your 5 exams so you must do well on them and he does not use slides or canvas so it can be confusing and hard to know what you need to know. Grades exams subjectively.
Very knowledgeable professor and loves to know the views of students on topics in class. He also really cares about how well you grasp the concepts in class. Doesn't use slides or canvas but it's pretty easy to understand his lectures and he sends out email reminders. Great professor!
Dr. Bigel is an amazing professor. His lectures are like telling a story; he will make sure you understand the information. He is always available for questions too! He is so knowledgeable and such a nice person.
Professor Bigel is a kind, knowledgeable professor, though his teaching style can be a bit outdated. Attend class, take good notes, and utilize resources like unstuckstudy ai to ace the exams. Overall, an engaging class for those interested in politics.
Professor Bigel says that this is the best course you will take in your life, and he is not lying. This course provides you with material that you cannot get in any other class at UWL. Great class, and a great professor.
Great professor who will truly open your mind to constitutional law.
Uncertain before the first exam because there is no study guide but after you understand his expectations it gets easier. You listen to the lecture, take notes (write everything down), read the textbook, and then try to remember everything. Exams require pretty good memory and long explanations. He is a big talker and accessible outside of class
Professor Bigel is passionate about his subject and cares about his students. His teaching style and perspective are old-fashioned, but he is open to and respectful of disagreement. You'll succeed if you attend class, take notes, and explain yourself on exams. Bigel is kind, accommodating, entertaining, and very accessible outside of class.
Professor Bigel truly cares about his students. His class helped me so much to prepare for law school. I highly recommend that you take as many constitutional law classes as you can. Professor Bigel put so much hard work and commitment into creating the con law courses for UWL. He made them so enjoyable and very much worth your time.
