cake easiest A ever
He writes poetry. He's a nice guy.
Doesnt teach anything; almost like a study hall period. VERY INCONSISTANT! non-specific, un-helpful.

Easy class, don't learn anything, nice teacher
Very easy class. Never got an A in English before this class. Meets with each student to help with papers.
easy teacher, very helpful. nice guy.
Easiest class ever !...You dont learn anything and papers are a breeze...take his class if you can!
easiest class i have ever taken, papers are sooo easy, he is so nice and helpful
Nice guy, very helpful and informative, enjoys class discussions, easy going, grades papers fairly
very nice guy, likes everyone it seems like, personable, dont learn anything, but nice guy, easy a
He's a nice teacher, that is willing to help you if you want help. Have to write a few papers and journals, easy grade if you do the work.
He's a really nice guy. He'll help you when you ask for it. He grades fairly and sometimes a little tough. Minimal work for an English course.
not many papers for an eng class. they can be any length. no extra work. extremely helpful if you ask and pay attention. great teacher, very bright!
not many papers but the grading is a little on the tough side. maybe because he doesnt really teach anything. really nice guy though.
Really cool teacher. Helps you on all your essays before you have to turn them in. Highly reccomend taking him
Easy, EASY A!! Very nice. Write a few easy papers and he goes over them with you before you turn them in. Loves class discussions and is not hard on attndance. He is always willing to help. A bit spacey but very cool. Didn't learn too much. Highly Recommended him.
overall an good teacher, didn't give papers back quickly, but they were practically on anything that interested you, nice guy, tries to make class fun
He's a very nice, laid-back guy. Teaches creative writing in an open-ended way. Basically, you can write whatever you want. Easy A. He's very cool.
Easiest class at Towson, just follow instructions and do the assignments.Really chilled out kinda personality. An easy A if you've ever written a simple essay before.
Nicest teacher I've ever had at Towson. He is sooo easy! Got an A on every single paper and you will too if you take him~
This guy can write.
In my opinion Alan Britt is a sensitive and brilliant poet, who helps students become better poets!
Great teacher. Never did this good on my essays in high school. Essays are short and he is not a hard grader. Def. take him if you have the chance to. He is very understanding. Never had homework or any books to read.
Mr Britt is teh EASIEST teacher you could ever have! He only gives you a few papers and everyone always gets an A on them. He doesnt even care if you turn papers in late. You cant have more than 3 absences in his class though or you drop a letter grade, but I sleep during all his classes anyway! Hes really laid back and friendly. Get him!!
Really great guy. I'm taking him again next semester - he tries to help out every student with their individual situations and that's really awesome.
he's such a nice guy. 2 papers, 2 group projects, 12 poems and 12 short fictions to write. easy grader but he tells everyone how great their pieces were even if they weren't that good. take him if you need a confidence boost or you enjoy writing.
He is a great teacher and very gives you very helpful comments. You write about 5 papers on easy topics like music, gender...Its an easy A, so deff. take him! Talk him into letting you have a party before a break and he'll bring donuts too!
Not a bad teacher...I guess he knows what he is doing in English. Slow grader, though. Likes to put a 'creative' aspect in the class (so don't take if you are not into creativity). The reading requirement was met by a poetry book written by a teacher at Towson...poems were weird. Overall, an easy English class compared to a lot of others. Take him.
Probably one of the easiest teachers at Towson...he allows you to turn you essays in late. Four to Five essays and a final...that's it! His attendance policy sucks though. Gotta go to class!
A nice guy, not a fantastic teacher. He didn't keep the class engaged or interested at all. Then again, it was a gen ed class for a majority of the students, but still, he bored me and I'm an English major. 3 quizzes and a final, plus a project. Quizzes are easy matching but you have to know the exact definitions from the book. Project = pain.
"Hello!" This man loves poetry and yet does not try to force it upon you. He is willing to hear all forms of poetry and cares about the students. Very lenient on lateness of papers. 2 groups projects, 2 1000 word essays. 24 poems by end.Take this man and you might actually begin to enjoy poetry.
He was a really nice guy although attendence is madatory, going to class was a waste of time. We didnt talk about anything related to what we were doing. But the only things we had to do were papers here and there on general topics. So if you want an easy english class take him!
He's a really easy grader, but the class has no structure and showing up just becomes a waste of time (and attendance is mandatory). Most classes are just devoted to simply sharing various readings and he doesn't really teach you much of anything about the creative process.
Very very easy class.. though it was kind of pointless to go. I wouldn't buy the writing book, just Rattlebone. Easy grader. Funny guy. Would definately take him again!
obviously didn't teach much, previous comment...it is "definitely" not "definately". a little too easy, wanted to sleep every class.
He is one of the nicest teachers you will ever meet. The class was kind of boring though and he never made it fun BUT he was very passionate about it. He loves poetry and is very knowledgable about the topic. You take 3 quizzes and do 2 papers.
Biggest BS class ever. It was a huge waste of time, but an easy A. Britt is nice, and really cares about poetry and his students.
He was really laid back. Iwould definitely recommend. He lets you rewrite papers as well to improve your grade...mostly class discussions rather than work
I don't believe we solved any literary problems... I didn't really understand the point of the class... 3 essays with the same thesis on 3 different authors . No tests/quizzes. Easy.
Loved him! he is so laid back and he does take attendance but really doesnt effect you too much. always a class with an interesting discussion. it was easy with very little work & he lets you rewrite essays to get a higher grade, but he already grades easy. I definitely recommend
Basically you do the work, you get an A. Granted, I do know people who didn't get a great grade but I don't even think they ran their papers through spell check. This one one of my easiest classes at Towson. You have a few papers but they are short and you get to choose what you want to write about. Take him!
boring;useless;redundant; he was laid back but i did not think mandatory atendance was necessary. basically, you do nothing for 50 minutes.
easy class. boring though. didn't do much. two projects and like 4 quizzes. quizzes are pretty easy all you have to do is study poetry terms out of the book
Painfully easy. He's very passionate of course, but I wish he had expected more from the class.
Indeed a genuine professor
He is horrible about returning your graded assignments. He springs quizes on the class, with very little notice, let alone understanding of the material. Plus, the poetry projects are each only worth the same as one quiz.
This class should definitely be half online half class. There are so many days that our attendance was pointless. 1 group project (extremely easy) and 4 research papers. Overall the class was interesting as far as the research we did, but going to class was so unnecessary, you'll find many mornings debating whether or not to show up.
Easy class, mandatory attendace was a bit of a pain since we did so little in class. You write 8 poems and 8 short fictions. Two 4 page papers which were a breeze
This class wasy pretty easy, although at times attendance seemed pointless. We would spend entire periods listening to him read out of the text. I spaced out alot. He is a really nice guy though. We had four quizzes, two projects, and two super easy homework assignments.
This teacher was horrible! He didn't really give you due dates for anything or tell you what he expected and then graded really hard. We spent class talking about absolutely NOTHING! There were 4 research papers that were exactly the same but about different poets! it was horrible
I took him for Intro to Creative Writing and loved it. He gave us free range with our writing. We had to hand in a piece of written work each week with no min or max size- half were poems, half was fiction. We had a group project and a paper due. He is an easy grade. Your first 3 unexcused absences are fine until he starts taking points from you.
easy a. take this class if you are somewhat good at writing. Requirements for the semester are 6 flash fictions, 6 poems, and 2 essays (three pages each) cancels class a decent amount. He is very nice and easy to work with
He knows what he's doing, just not how to teach it. The last poet we had to do had minimal sources, and he knew that, so we're struggling.
He's a great professor!! He took over for our class after our old professor had to leave half-way through. His teaching style was different but was very helpful. He really knows how to teach this subject. He kept the class engaged and made poetry fun. He really teaches you alot and helps you to improve as a writer. I would definitely recommend him!
Not sure on his grading rubric b/c he took over for our original teacher 1/2 way through. But he was very helpful and kind. He really tried to make everyone better writers & gave great suggestions on how to improve while also making us feel good about our original poem. I would definitely take him in the future.

Probably one of the worst teachers I've ever had. He is so unorganized and doesn't have a set syllabus. You never know when anything is due. He gives assignments and doesn't fully explain them, and when you have questions he says the same thing as he did when he explained it the first time. Looks like Santa but is actually a jerk.
He's like santa, kind of. He's obsessed with cicadas, which is strange. I really dont like his poetry at all, but you have to write a paper on it. The class really is a joke, but that makes it relaxing. He's super unorganized so you never know when anything is due, but youll live.
very easy class. professor is nice, but doesnt follow much on syllabus. disorganized but easy A.
He's very unclear about specific things he expects. It's strange, on something he doesn't care at all, but then all of a sudden he freaks out over what seems a minor thing. If you choose to take him watch yourself on the little things that he points out. In general, he doesn't follow the syllabus like a normal professor (a good and a bad thing).
This class was really easy and pretty laid back. Class time was mostly used for "workshops" where the class commented on students' writing. He was often unclear, and sometimes rude when a question would be asked. I started off liking him, but by the end of the semester I wasn't too fond of how I was treated at certain times. Good for an easy gen ed
had him for 311 and 411. hes a jovial old fellow..have no idea what to expect from him. never stays on topic. likes everyones poems no matter what. you wont be a better poet, but at least youll have a chance to workshop your poems. his poetry sucks, but thats just my opinion. 2 papers and several in class essays. take if you want.
Super nice guy! He's very helpful if you have a question. The class was fun as a whole: Write a poem every week, write 2 essays, tiny papers in between... I think it's a class worth taking; it was very enjoyable.
His class is really not that difficult but he makes it difficult by not explaining assignments and things he looks for on essays. If you take his class you HAVE to follow up with him on the progress of your grade. He marks off for small petty things. He is a funny guy though, he is just ALL over the place with his expectations of the class.
If you miss more than 3 classes your grade will be dropped by 1 letter grade. he doesn't give you the guidelines for essays yet you fail the paper! class is a breeze but he didn't help us improve our creative writing skills. always says good job even if the poem sucks. He's nice though easy A... if you never miss class.
You don't get points taken off for not understanding a concept. You get points off because you added extra spacing in the MLA format or you misspelled a word. His grading style is petty, but get him to check over all your work before handing it in you should be well off. 100 Point Class. Every point off is a percentage point. Fairly easy class
I took his creative writing class. His essay grading is unfair, and he has no clarity as to what he wants yet he is extremely petty with grading. Seriously, I am a creative writing major and he completely screwed up my grade despite my talent and correct completion of all my assignments. You never know what he wants- he just expects you to know.
Poetry. Pretty easy, but he will lower grade if you miss two classes. I earned an A and he gave me a B for attendance. This is something a lot of TU Prof. do. If a student earns an A they should receive an A, period. I would not take a class with him again due to his attendance policy, but his class was easy 2 short papers 12 poems 7 HWs, 2wkshop
Class is a easy A, execpt for the essays. he is a petty grader when it comes to those but everything else is graded easy. not a lot of work. i piece of writing due a week, but i don't have to be long a paragraph will suffice. only a few easy homework assignments, no due dates on those, he is not much help but you don't really need it for this class
His class is pretty easy. 4 essays 1 group planning project and a final is an in class essay. He always willing to answer questions.
Easy assignments, easy grader
At first I thought his class would be an easy A, but when it came to assignments he was not clear and didn't help.
He is the man. great teacher, extremely dedicated to his work. Crystal clear with directions for essays and what is needed for an A.
very nice and relaxed. Not tests or final and not a lot of work. It's a small class and he doesn't take the time to get to know you or care about you. He really loves the subject though. His grading is weird, you think it's the easiest A, but then you get small points taken off here and there, and since it's out of 100 points, your grade drops fast
He losses your assignments and docks your grade for it. Disorganized and very unclear about his grading policy. I had an A until he lost 3 of my assignments and I ended up getting a C. Just take a real class and thank me later
He's a very nice guy! A little scattered, but keep your assignments and everything will be fine. An assignment is due every Friday, two group projects, two essays... very fair. An easy A for a gen-ed and major class. Take him!
Britt is great! Don't even read the negative reviews. He can go off tangents a little but it makes the time go by. He is a caring professor and will read any work before you turn it in so there is no reason not to get an A! Take his class!
He is very nice and helpful! Go to class, pay attention and do your work! I hope to take more classes with him.
IDK why people love him so much. he is alright. not the best, not the worst. not very clear on his expectations of the class. my whole class complains about him before he walks in the door. if u keep up with assignments its not bad. easy B don't know about easy A. class is out of 100 pts & he takes off for ridiculous stuff so grade drops fast.
He's a nice guy, don't get me wrong, but personally I took the class to improve my poetry writing and I don't feel that was accomplished. I didn't learn anything I didn't already know and all we did was workshop which can get annoying after like 3 weeks. He gave me a 4/5 on almost every poem. I'm not sure if it's possible to get a 5/5.
Britt is a really nice guy and for a Ged Ed, the class is super easy. A poem due each week, two essays, and one group project. He cares a lot and he's pretty funny, take him if you can.
He is a really nice guy and loves to answer ANY questions you have about assignments that are due. He tends to talk A LOT during lectures but he's really helpful and clear with what he wants you to do for assignments. Our grade consisted of 4 essays total, 1 group project and the final.
Took for the winter minimester, and it was boring but easy. Tests are easy, vocabulary from the book. Final project is the hardest thing, but still easy. It helps to start early, though.
I really enjoyed this class. Professor Britt is very helpful and makes his expectations very clear. He genuinely cares about his students and the material. There are several writing assignments and two group projects, but they're nothing to be afraid of. Just follow his directions, turn in all the assignments, and you'll be fine!
He is very pompous and condescending. Don't ask any questions because he will just look at you like you are stupid. The assignments are easy, but he will take points off for the most ridiculous things. I enjoyed the class just not the professor
Honestly Dr. Britt was one of my favorite professors this past semester. I never felt stressed going to class and he was always SO helpful when it came to writing papers. The papers weren't difficult. I think there were four 1000 word papers in total. I took a 50 min MWF and he lectured the whole time and was pretty boring but other than that okay!
Really boring professor. He takes a ridiculous amount of points off for not going to class and grades the essays very harshly. I wouldn't suggest his class unless you really enjoy writing papers and losing points for minor grammar mistakes.
Don't take his class. You wont have a lot to do but the way he grades assignments will have you stressed out the entire semester. Says he does not like to give grades but is a very harsh grader. Very one sided
His class could be very boring, with lots of talking, but the class was super easy. I suck at writing, but i got a's on every assignment. You could only miss two classes unexcused and if you had a reason, he would make you bring proof. Understanding, and helpful when needed. Requires a few books for the class and i never finished and still got an a
Really nice guy, calm and humorous. Grades kind of tough, I got B's on all of my essays. Huge stickler for his grading criteria and the mistakes you make can cost you a lot of points. You can miss 3 classes and it won't count against you. Papers not long. Lots of people didn't even do their rough drafts because he doesn't collect them.
He is a very tough grader. I am a good writer however I got Cs on all of the essays, even after going to the writing center. He takes off points for any small mistake. He also is a flaming liberal so take his class if you want to hear boring lectures about how the US government should decrease military spending, & plenty of other unrelated topics.
He is a tough grader but he just wants you to do great. He rambles about boring topics sometimes but the class was easy. He is understanding but you need to be willing to seek help. He has the same routine everyday, you'll catch on lol
At first he seems nice. However he is the less understanding teacher. He take points off for not having book in class. He is a tough grader even if you listen to feedback. He is not helpful at all. And talks on and on.
literally the easiest class. there are lots of class discussions about students' creative pieces. the class is basically graded on completion. Britt is very chill and easy to get along with. Not really much lecturing, just discussions mostly. you have 2 essays and several mini creative writing pieces, thats it. i would def take again!
He says in the beginning of the semester that he understands you are only taking this class because it is required, that is not the case. Later in the semester he tried to persuade you to be an english major. Also he is a very tough grader, I went to him to review the corrections he made on my essay and was not helpful at all. Do not take him!
I had at 9am and rarely showed up and payed the price for it. All he does is lecture. He took off points of your final grade if you didnt get all the required reading by a certain point. Be ready to read and write, you read a book crank out an essay, read a book crank out an essay.
Britt oftentimes used class lecture time to go off-topic and speak on things that really didn't matter to anyone besides his personal life. Also, good luck receiving an email back to answer your questions you may have come up with while trying to complete an assignment. Papers are handed back last minute so you have no clear feedback.
He doesn't believe in the grading system so, you never know what your actual grade is. He planned to have us write 6 essays during the semester and we only got through 3. The whole point of the class was to learn how to write an effective essay and I did not learn that. 0/10 would not recommend.
Professor Britt is an outstanding educator. He truly cares about education and the personal beliefs of his students.
This was an essay writing class and he didn't talk about techniques on how to write essays effectively or even just better in general. He usually just talks about his opinions on poetry and communism.
As long as you follow the criteria for the assignments and turn them in you will do well. He is also a nice person and will help you out if something happens and you are unable to turn the assignment in on time
Overall not a super hard class. The essays were pretty boring to write but if you do your work and have the required reading materials you'll be fine. Not a lot of people participated in class discussions so if you talk he'll like you a little more. He takes off full letter grades if you miss 2 or 3 classes, so make sure to go.
Professor Britt is an extremely tough grader and even if you go to him for help or the writing center you definitely are not guaranteed an A on a paper. He does no tests or quizzes however you do need to buy the books he requires, but they're cheap. Honestly I would try and get a different professor because he's so tough on grading.
Awful teacher. He doesn't "believe" in grades, he just wants his students to "learn." He doesn't bother to read the essays, yet he gives every student a C. He is very very boring, oh and he also looks just like Santa Claus!
He expects assignments to be completed with little to no notice. He grades way too tough and requires too many steps for completing essays.
Professor Britt is a very tough grader! You could ask all the clarifying question to make your paper the best and it is honestly no use. Very rarely will you get out of class early. He also loves to force discussion especially if no one wants to talk. You have been warned, proceed at your own caution.
TOUGH GRADER !! avoid at all costs.
Prof. Britt allows 3 absences and then you drop grades. He does not allow the use of phones or electronics- sometimes he calls you out for it sometimes he doesn't. Group projects are very often with him. Very rarely will you get out early, unless it is group project presentations. He very rarely cancels class. If I could take another prof, I would.
I love Prof Britt. I took him for creative writing and I think he is great. You need to purchase the three books and you do need to read through them to do the assignments, but it's nothing bad. He gives creative assignments that are due weekly, and only six homeworks total. He's a fair grader, and he works with you. He's also so funny!
good luck my friends
Final grade is an average of your scores on a group assignment & 4 essays. I wish I had more opportunity to improve my grade. I would say that this professor is kind and really wants to help his students, BUT the feedback he gives on papers is useless. It doesn't help you improve your writing, you don't even understand what is wrong with the paper
Prof Britt is generally a nice dude, but honestly, you attend class just to hear him ramble on about nothing much. He doesn't really teach so much as talk at you and then tell you to read a book or poetry and right an essay on it. You'll be writing three essays not including your final, so it's not much, but he doesn't really help you.
Lectures can be boring at times since it's things most people have learned in high school, but he is a great guy if you get the chance to know him. Some say he is a tough grader but you just need to have a clear understanding on the rubric and follow it step by step, and you'll be fine! Go to his office hours, he can be really helpful.
Not a bad professor. Make sure to show up to class cause he does penalize you if you miss too many. Only puts a few grades in so it can be hard to get your grade up. As long as you go to him for questions and actually try on the essays he does not grade them hard.
If you take Professor Britt attend class, be prepared to read and write papers and label various parts of your essay. He complicates simple concepts .
I'm taking Britt right now for my English 102 class. Hes a really nice guy and looks like Santa. Your grade for the class consists of 3 essays and 1 group project so take them very seriously. There is a LOT of reading early on but its only for the first essay. I will say that he has made me better at writing essays. He's a good professor.
He goes off on tangents in class a lot. Work isn't difficult, I actually liked the writing assignments (one is due every week). Every week the class reads and discusses someone's work, you will have to read your own twice. A couple kinda easy group assignments. Overall easy class to me
Don't take this guy. I'm not that good of a writer in the first place but on my first paper he put he stopped reading so I got no feedback. You have 3 papers and the final is an in class paper. He's not very clear on what he wants. If you can take another professor do so.
Unclear grading criteria & he is too specific on format despite not discussing it until after the assignment was turned in. He is an easy grader on content, but he is a nit picker when it comes to formatting and adding required hand-written notes. Requires methods of operation and other devices he asks for to be listed at the top of each paper.
He is THE WORST!!! if you are reading this go to blackboard and change your class! I had him for poetry!! POETRY and almost failed for no apparent reason. HE tried to tell me I failed at the end of the semester but couldn't tell me why!! He had nothing to back it up. He grades about three things that are worth 5 points and that is the whole class.
So boring and lectures are random and unnecessary
Must show up to pointless classes where he goes off-topic for about 50 minutes every. single. class. You go in thinking this is your easiest class. But in all honesty he doesnt care about your success in his class. Dont show up? Prepare to have ur grade dropped. We had an exam one day and he failed to mention to everyone that it was open book...
Professor Britt is a nice guy, but he grades horribly. His lectures are not interesting. Goes off on rants and the class is unenjoyable. As said before, he is a very tough grader. I would just stay as close to the rubric as possible, and make sure everything you do is correct regarding format and everything.
Besides the pointless lectures, he just does not care about you. I had a personal case in my life that he totally disregarded and bashed my religious beliefs that my essay was all about. Super uncomfortable and at that point I knew he was very bias and there was no use in trying to learn or work with someone like that.
Prof Britt is a nice guy but he rants all class long. Pointless to go to class but you drop a letter grade if you miss more than 3. He grades extremely hard and barely gives you assignments so what you do makes up your whole grade. He never uses blackboard so you never know what you have. He is BORING, would avoid taking his class.
Literally worst teacher. He rants all day and does not teach at all. You only have 5 grades total and 4 are essays. One grade was a group project which ruined my grade because of the people in my group. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!
I really enjoy this professor. I think he can give a lot of busy work in this course but it's all so easy. The kids who had trouble in this class were just too lazy to do it. He really cares about your writing and helped me get past a bad bout of writer's block. Take the class if you actually enjoy writing.
Professor Britt was somewhat boring at times because the whole class you are pretty much just sitting there listening to him talk and he does tend to go on tangents. There was a lot of group work done in class but only the essays throughout the year were graded. Sometimes, his directions and guidance can be a bit confusing but he is willing to help
Professor Britt was great. He only gave us 3 assignments the entire year which was nice. No final or midterm. If you miss more than 3 classes you will drop grade letters.
He seemed nice at first but is very condescending when asked a question about an assignment. You do group projects on each essay before you do it individually so you get a clear understanding of the assignment. About 4 papers in this class, no other assignments. Not a bad teacher, but not a good one either.
Not an easy A class. Professor Britt's course is only out of 100 points total which made it very hard to maintain an A. During covid, he did not make his online course any easy for his students. I wish he did offer extra credit hence Covid. Must buy the book. Tough grader, must follow instructions.
Professor Britt is a wonderful professor but the structure of his class was awful. There's two group projects (he gave class time to work on) and two essays, but instructions were vague for both. Attendance was also important because he doesn't post anything on Blackboard. And we had to submit assignments through email ???
He is a good professor for a mandatory class, but his syllabus implies that he cares when students are going through something mentally, but if you email him saying you have outside issues which is why you are missing class, he will brush it off and acts like he doesn't care. Only three essays and two projects are what you're graded on.
Worst professor ever! He grades extremely hard and we only have 4 assignments in the class. He also gets mad when you ask a question and is rude in his emails. I would avoid his class at all costs, I do not recommend.
This had to have been the worst first year experience of English at college Ive ever had. He is a miserable tenured professor who slams his students with insane amounts of work, and just when you think its over, its not. Youve got another 6 page essay to scramble together. Absolutely dreadful professor, you need to be fired.
Probably the most boring professor ever. The class was based on 4 projects (1&2 are due at the same time, 3&4 are due at the same time). These projects were abt 15 pages long each and took WEEKS to complete. The final was a project and was 20 pages long. His lectures are boring and get off track often. He can also be rude when you ask a question.
Passive aggressive for no reason. Rude in emails and in person as well. Nobody seems to mention the fact he's almost deaf so there's that too. Whole year is centered around one or 2 books so if you don't read them, you're done for. If you can take another professor, for your sake, please do.
Prof Britt is not a good teacher, very hard grader and does not specify how to become a better writer. Pretends he care but in reality he doesn't. Do not get him as a teacher.
The only grades in the grade book were 3 essays and 3 group projects. He talks all class and just says the same thing over and over again. He grades the group projects ridiculously hard, no one in my class got over a C on any of the group projects. He made us by a text book full of his own poetry. There is a tone of reading for this class.
Literally just sitting in this class was traumatizing. Each class he would barely remember what he had told us the previous class and would expect students to be prepared for work that he never told us to prepare for. Grades extremely tough and rambles about random topics each class, very aggressive through emails and in class.
He is not a bad guy, but he likes to talk a lot and does not explain anything at all. There were no clear instructions, and if you ask him a question, you won't get a proper answer. His class was only out of 100 points, which made it worse, cause few points could cause your grade to go down by letter. His group projects also don't make any sense.
8 assignments. 4 group projects. 4 individual essays. Group projects are weighted the same as individual essays and that really messed up my grade. He assigns the groups and they stay the same through the semester. So if youre assigned some dummys like I was, good luck :)
i took his class for elements of poetry and it was a LOT of work. we had to read a book, take note of the terms, and find examples of these terms in two different poetry books. this took FORVER. talks a lot, kind of boring. but, with all the work he gave, he gave out 100% to like everyone.
8 total assignments and each was 100 points. 4 were group assignments so if you get paired with a bad group you're out of luck. The other 4 were essays based on two books we had to read. He was impossible to contact outside of class, a very tough grader, gave unclear directions, and was extremely picky with how he wanted your essays formatted.
Do not take this class! He is confusing and constantly changes his mind about your work, meaning that one day it looks good and the next day it looks terrible. He grades off of 3 projects and 4 essays. You need to read 2 books. He would act like he cared about you, but would be incredibly rude if you did something wrong. TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR!!!!!
Dr. Britt may be a heavy lecturer, but he is a creative writer's best friend! He truly cares about your writing and will ensure that you do your best. He expects a lot from you, but if you are truly passionate about writing, it comes across as helpful rather than insulting. Best professor I ever had at Towson University.
This Professor is one of the worst that I have had. This class was a core requirement, yet he graded very harshly. He doesn't give out rubrics and was very boring during lecture. He had 4 group projects, and no one showed up for me, and 4 individual essays. Other English teachers have a better rating, so take their class instead. Avoid him.
Paired with a group. If your group does nothing, good luck. 6 grades - 3 groupwork, 3 individual essays. Groupwork helps with individual essays. Papers were easy if you actually did the groupwork. Final is easy. Good professor, but hard to reach through email SOMETIMES. He grades specific for a level 1 but he only wants the best for his students.
overall easy class but the teacher himself is very unreasonable. he wants an online class but doesnt fully understand how it works and expects students to email hw and when they do he claims you didnt email it.
the material itself wasnt difficult but god he talked to us like we were five. his lessons in the beginning were all over and stressful, and his feedback changed constantly.
I know I can improve my writing. His feedback didn't benefit me, the feedback was only about things that made it easier to grade (underlining thesis, intro sentences) You have three group projects and three essays. If you get bad grades on the group projects you're pretty screwed grade wise. He will say its good in class, but grade is not the same.
Do not take this class if you are actually looking to improve your writing and/or get something out of it. Professor Britt is quite unorganized, and is not great at navigating technology. Overall, the writing assignments are not challenging per se, but can be somewhat confusing and due dates are not always clear.
He's very unorganized,(ended up buying a book we never used because of this). Next, He's a very unreasonable grader, and sometimes you will get points deducted for this you actually did then have to thoroughly show him/explain where you did. Does not teach, honestly would not recommend all around unreasonable guy.
Tough grader, does not actually grade assignments, multiple time in my class people addressed him for deducting points for things they actually did. Completely unrealistic.
Take this class with someone else if you can. Nice man, not a very good professor. He seriously needs to retire.
Literally the worst professor I've ever had. His syllabus is so out of date: there are no due dates and his assignments aren't complete in their directions. Doesn't give helpful advice and even when you explain a problem as clear as possible, he just says "check the syllabus". Never taking him again, and I advise you don't either.
No organization whatsoever. I never knew what my grade was in his class. I still don't. It was a nightmare taking his class online. Instructions for group projects and essays were not clear. He is a nice man but not a good professor. The least I expect from a professor is a complete and organized blackboard page, and he could not even do that.
Easily one of the worst teachers in the entire school. He doesn't teach, just has people share writings and everyone comments briefly on it. On top of that none of his assignments have rubrics and are graded at a maximum out of 10 points. Slightly late assignment? That's a letter grade. Made a simple and common mistake? Letter grade. Horrible
Prof. Britt is a kind man, but he needs to retire. He is extremely disorganized, loses assignments b/c he has people email them to him, is unclear abt deadlines, and doesn't teach people how to write. Group project was a nightmare. Although I was one of his favorites and have been writing poetry for years, I didn't get much from this class at all.
Easily the worst teacher experience I have had at Towson. He wants to run a virtual class but is clueless when navigating technology and very disorganized. He is very unclear about assignment directions and formatting, but will subtract multiple letter grades if your paper is not easy for him to grade.
doesn't know how to use blackboard. will give you a bad grade and not give any good feedback, takes away points for meaningless things. whenever you ask questions about anything he doesn't answer and tells you to look at the syllabus. He is RUDE he has such an attitude especially over emails. LIKE PLEASE CONSIDER RETIREMENT 🙏
Professor Britt has an unclear teaching style and grading system. While the material isn't too difficult, his disorganization and lack of technology skills make this class frustrating. Unstuckstudy helped with study prep, but taking this class again is not recommended.
Doesn't provide sufficient feedback and gives unclear instructions
He is a tough grader without a structured Rubric. He's a yapper so I be mentally prepared for it The class is easy itself its like IB English
The professor is clueless when it comes to technology even if he runs an online class. He doesn't know how to use Blackboard, he's very unorganized and he's not clear when it comes to give instructions. The class wouldn't be hard if he didn't take away points for the most meaningless details. I definitely DON'T recommend this class!!!
He is very nitpicky. He is a tough grader. He grades off of what he likes. Don't take this if you can get a different professor do it!!!!! Take my word........ Listen to this review out of all of them.
He's a sweet guy but gives very unorganized instructions. It's basically like you're teaching yourself. He is a very tough grader. Although he does except late work, he doesn't necessarily answer questions or help you in any way. I would not recommend if you have any other option.
Prof Britt tries to do a hybrid class but he has no technology skills whatsoever. He gets easily irritated about questions students ask him, and on top of that when you share something make sure you're prepared to repeat yourself multiple times because he has trouble hearing. He can be nice, but if you have any other option, don't take this class.
Runs a hybrid class but possess no tech skills. Nit picky grader and deducts points for the most irrelevant things. His feedback has nothing to do with the strength of your essay and is super unhelpful. I used to drive to school with no seatbelt because I wanted to die when going to this class. Nice dude but needs to hang up the jersey and retire.
