fun teacher and makes class really fun. if you do not study you will probably not pass. 4 tests of 100 points. 150 point final and 50 point essay. some extra credit is available but a lot of studying. he is pretty funny and it was a hard a to get.

He is an A+ teacher. Has a unique teaching style that will keep you interested. Although attendence is not an issue, it's in your best interest to be there for lecture. He has printable power points so less note taking is a +. He offers extra credit and tests are not that bad as long as you study. I'm an average student & rec'd an "A".

Not only is he GORGEOUS he is an amazing teacher! He is entertaining and animated, and makes learning the material easy. His class is based off power points and lectures. The power points are available online but there are some fill in the blanks you need to go to class to get the full notes. But believe me, this is a class you'll want to go to!

Probably my favorite professor so far, definitely the best psychology professor at Tri-C. There need to be a lot more professors like this guy out there.

One of the best professors I've ever had, I actually looked forward to attending class, he was so entertaining. Uses a lot of examples, which helped me really understand the material. Tests are mostly about topics covered in class, with 5 questions that are only discussed in the textbook. Would definitely take his class again.

OMG!!!!!! I can't put in words how AMAZING this professor is. His teaching style is set up to where you barely have to study for test. He gives you a study and a review before each test. I am a psychology major and I wish he could teach every psy class I have to take in order to graduate that's how phenomenal this guy is. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

This nerdy teacher is the BOMB!! I just started his class and I am already in love with it. He genuinely cares for his students and is a wonderful professor. His teaching style is sooo much fun. More importantly, he is extremely attractive.... so it's a funinformative class with dang good scenery. What more could a gal want? LOL

I drag myself to school for his 10 a.m. class because the 1 day I missed, I was ashamed of myself! He is down to earth, easy to understand and his lectures are like seeing a stage show! He tells you exactly what will be on the test and they are all multiple choice. If you cant get at least a B, its because you didn't come to class.

I love love loved him. I took him fall of 2013, and I just loved him. His lectures were not only interesting and full of energy, but they were also memorable. I wish I could take him for every psychology class I have. And he is Hot!

Does an amazing job teaching the material. Makes you genuinely feel like he cares if you know psychology and does so in a fun way. Attendance is not mandatory, he covers a lot in class so if you want the A you will show up, . Dedicated to teaching in a way that a student will learn AND remember (encoding) :). I failed Psychology twice but when I got to Professor Gerding's class, I passed!! I feel like i could've did better because he is a great teacher.

He was a good teacher but his test are hard and most of your grade comes from those test he did give more then thirty bonus points but i cant stress how hard the test are and you will only need your book for five questions on your test and study giude

Professor Gerding is no nonsense. Even thought he is no nonsense he is really down to earth and nice. He wants to make sure you understand psychology more than anything. He is passionate about psychology. I read my Psych text book cover to cover. You are required to read three chapters then take one quiz so be ready. The material is never boring.

He was a great online teacher. I usually hate online classes but he gave me all the help I needed. He's really funny too. The good part of the online version is that he makes YouTube videos to all his lessons, so if you don't understand what you are reading he goes into more depth. I had him for the first year experience my first semester so i intentionally got in his psych class. fun teacher. total nerd in a good way, makes a game out of assignments by having you slay beasts with facts you learn in class. required reading is out of a free online textbook instead of an expensive book

Prof Gerding's online class is SO easy and you actually learn. He provides power points that are very helpful for studying for his multiple choice tests. His assignments are easy to understand and do. He also gives a lot of extra credit. I would definitely take his class again.

Alan Gerding is one of the best teachers people I've ever met he is so hysterical you'll have trouble forgetting material he is so excited about his job he gets you excited about it too he is so dedicated to his students he will do whatever it takes for material to stick, even if it means taking risks and being silly to this day he's still my fave

At first I thought he was the hardest ever. I lost my mom while taking this class, and he was nothing but supportive. You will work, but you will learn, and remember as well. He helps anyway he can, it seems to be a passion to him. Which makes him great at teaching. I could have gotten an B, but neglected to hand in an assignment. I recommend him.

Mr. Gerding was by far one of the best professors I have had. He is caring and supportive. I had him for an online class, but yet he still found time to email / call me back when I had specific questions. Everything is on Black Board and to the point. You can only fail his class if you do not try. He also gives 30 extra credit points. I loved him!

Took this class as my first ever college class. Amazing teacher. I went online and still the class was super easy. I never opened the textbook all year! He provides very detailed powerpoint study guides (which I copied word for word into a notebook, as a study method.) I would LOVE to have him again.

I am so glad that I had chosen him. Last semester I dropped my online class from a friend telling me that that professor was ridiculous with the tests and timing. Professor Gerding is completely fair and provides you with everything you need to succeed. Even has offered us a hefty amount of extra credit! Tests aren't bad either, his PPs & SGs help

Professor Gerding is easily one of the best professors I've ever had. He really knows how to help a student one-on-one and also lecture an entire class while making it fun. The information sticks to you through his use of metaphors and how he gets the information lodged in your head like an earworm. Definitely sign up for this man!

My favorite part of the class is the fun extra credit. Prof Gerding did an amazing job with his presentations and YouTube lectures. His voice was relaxing but not boring, so it was easy to pay attention. Exams based off notes, easy A if you do the work. The extra credit is worth a good chunk and can boost you a half of letter grade. Great Prof

Professor G's class was fun and informative. He taught the material in a way that was relatable and easy to understand. Plus you'll laugh a lot, but if you aren't keeping up with the notes and homework on blackboard then this class may be a bit more difficult.

He's a wonderful professor, i' ve taken all of his classes. He actual cares if you learn the content & he's always there to help. Go to his STUDY JAMS after class! So worth it! You don't need to go to class but i' d recommend you do because that's how great his lectures are! Tests are challenging in a good way and HW will be your study guide!

Has few tests throughout the semester, one assignment per week. Gave us the textbook pdf to download, blessed us with an easy 30 points possible extra credit. you probably will not regret taking him, I'm glad I did.

An awesome professor. His tests are tough. Not basic textbooks and powerpoint questions. He will give you lots of objective examples as questions. His lectures and youtube videos does help. The book is cheap but also free PDF version. You definitely need to understand the methods of psychology methods to pass these tests. A fun fun fun professor!

Incredible professor! His lectures are helpful and full of information while still being interesting. I learned so much from this class and passed with over 100%. He gives 30 points total extra credit and tests are open note/book. Chapters are long so make sure you start reading early but as long as you put some time in the class is overall easy.

He was an excellent professor. He did a good job explaining everything and giving clear feedback, grading criteria, and what was given on any tests. He also gave extra credit which was fun to do. This was an easy A if you put in time and effort to read over his well put together PowerPoints. Take advantage of the lecture vids because those helped.

I took Professor Gerding online only with no meeting times. That being said without ever speaking to the man I could feel how much he cared about his class. You can see the special touches he likes to add to the class by having super cool office hours, unique videos for the class, and just the small fun details he puts in. Take his class!

Phenomenal professor! Professor Gerding makes Psychology fun and entertaining (even with a fully online class). While there is a decent amount of reading, the class mainly consists of 4 100-point tests, one 150-point final exam/test, and ten 10-point study guide/assignments. You can get 30 extra credit points and the textbook is free. GREAT class!

My whole class was online. He had very few rules as long as you followed all your material youll pass easily. The whole class was at my own pace. He responded very quickly.

Great professor with easy assignments and tests that actually follow the content that's being taught. I didn't look at the textbook once during his class, the presentations he provides and using Google is enough.

His class was really easy and I learned a lot. This class always kept me interested and most of the weekly assignments were just to help study for the tests. He has slides made for each lesson and it's very easy to find the lessons for each week. His blackboard is very organized and easy to use.

Professor Gerding is very organized and he provides lots of study tools for the tests. I did have slight trouble finding the contents I needed to study at first, but his slideshows and assignments were very helpful study tools. I took a 14 week course and it was extremely fast-paced, so be prepared for a lot of pressure if you are a CCP student.

AMAZING. He made the course so easy to follow, there's extra credit opportunity, and he gives you all of the info you need to do well on the tests (which are not proctored, thankfully). He's passionate about his class and making sure his students do well and have fun in the process, which I feel like we don't see much of anymore. 10/10 recommend.

The type of professor you will never forgot. He knows how to teach and make it fun at the same time. I appreciate the extra credit opportunities being readily accessible on blackboard (rather than having to wait for teachers to assign it).

Professor Gerding is one of a kind! His personality and overall excitement about life and his job are contagious. There is a lot of information in this class but he makes it easy to understand.

He gives helpful feedback and genuinely cares about his students doing well in the class. He does study jam sessions and keeps the class exciting and upbeat to help get the students through stress. He assigns one assignment a week and a test every other week (my experience taking the online 8 week Psych1010) 100% would take his class again.

He is really hilarious and makes an online class a walk in the park. It also is actually educating without being intense or work heavy. Also the extra credit can bump you up a letter grade. He also colors the important stuff on slide shows red and makes them concise and to the point. Also his videos are hilarious, entertaining, and educating.

He was always so kind and understanding and the work was so doable, a couple study guides and big tests but he gives all the answers in the book (pdf form that you don't have to buy) and slideshows that he makes. Really great guy, I would take his classes again 100%.

Professor G is one of my favorite professors I have ever HAD! as a person who hates test he has clear study guides THAT ACTUALLY help with test attendance is not mandatory but if you show up you will pass anytime I can take another Psych class it's going to be with him every time if you see his name teaching a class go with him you won't regret it.

Mr G is one of the most skilled educators I have ever met. His lectures are incredibly engaging; he has a super energetic/entertaining way of presenting information & his slideshows are designed to facilitate note-taking. He really does what he can to help students succeed :) I will say, you'll have a much easier time if you show up & participate.

Gerding is funny and passionate about his teaching. I took the class purely because of curiosity of the subject, and I'm strongly considering taking another of his classes. He engages the class, relates with stories, and knows when to switch between fun and serious.

Professor Gerding is seriously one of the best professors I've ever had. His video lectures are so helpful and he is always so easy to reach if you have any questions. You can tell he really cares about his students because he puts a lot of effort into his job. His course is light and very manageable. Usually 1-2 assignments a week.

This class was the easiest college class I have taken. There is one assignment a week. You do a study guide one week, then test the next for the entire course, and the work is very easy. He's a fun professor and responds to emails quickly. Would highly recommend this course and professor.
