Both Mr. and Mrs. Dr. Hecht are the greatest professors you'll ever have. They are fun and make class really easy! I definitely recommend them!

Very Helpful does not trick you for test stright foward tends to go in to stories and get off the topic. But overall, a great prof.

Dr Hecht is a professor who really cares if you try. He tends to get off topic and go into stories, but the stories relate to what he is teaching so therefore making u understand better. Excellent professor, Definatly try to take him if u get a chance

An awesome professor. Very clear and helpful. Tests consist of everything that he was talking about on a lecture (although it's a lot of info, it is clear and well-organized, so if you do study, you'll have no problem). Drops the lowest test grade and sometimes curves grades 5 to 10 points.

Dr Hecht is great. He is a wonderful professor, very helpful. His tests are straight from his lectures, so study your notes (b/c that is what's on the tests). He curves the grades too which is nice. He is very understanding if you try, so pay attention, and attend his classes. He is very fair

OMG this is one of the greatest professors on earth! He makes the the class fun and interesting! His testes are from the his notes so if you take good notes there is no way that you can fail. He is so helpful that after you leave his class you can always ask him questions for another class and he will try and expalin it to you.

He was great. If you get a chance to take him you will really enjoy his class. He make what would normally be a boring topic interesting and fun. Sometimes he goes a little fast, but if you ask him to slow down and repeat it he is very helpful. If you work hard in the clas he is the teacher who will give you the A for you work.

I had a nice time in his class. He is direct with information that you will need to know. I think that his test are fair and he is a really nice guy.

Take him if you want an A. His tests are right from the notes he has on the website. I loved going to this class. He is very fair when he gives you your final grade. you get points for attendance which can help you get an A instead of a B plius.

He's a really great guy. His class is self explanatory. It's basically power points and he thoroughly explains each topic that you cover. If you're unclear just ask him for clarification

GREAT PROFESSOR. One of the most intelligent people I have ever met, he really knows his stuff. Just pay attention and study and you will do great. His countless stories make the class worth going to, he has one for everything and its great. Do yourself a favor and take him!

Despite his good rating and being a gentleman, I must say- I took Microbio lab with him. We finished labs in less than 1 hour; didn't really learned or did anything much. He didn't care if anyone finished the lab. His lab exams were easy, but gave us different info on what the exams would cover; never prepared himself for the exams or lectures.

This guy is very understanding and tries to make it easier on his students. BUT Not only my opinion: he talked WAY too much about himself during lecture and essentially tried to reaffirm to himself that he was a good teacher when in reality his tests are not "straight forward," whatsoever. Hes cool but def not the best education

Had prof Hecht for a & p lecture. He tried to make his class as interesting as possible on such dry topic. The tests are hard bc the material is difficult. You must study but he made it enjoyable to attend class. Would def take him again!!

TEST ARE SUPER HARD. He rarely uses the textbook, if not none of it. He tells stories about himself a little too much than the material. Great personality, but education? Hmm. He's always justifying and bragging about his PhD and being a Chiropractor. Yeah but what about actually teaching us the material? Doesn't "really" care about students.

I had Hecht for lab for both A&P 1 +2 - Great teacher, makes material interesting and is very knowledgable. He is very clear on what is on the lab practicals so if you study you should not have a problem getting a good grade. He is always happy, very helpful and personable. Def best A+P prof to take at farmingdale

Nice guy. Answers all questions & tells stories to help you remember things. His tests are straight from his ppt slides. Overall, if you study you will do well. Lab is mostly self-study, but you get out very early! Had for AP I and after seeing who I have now, wish I had Hecht again!! Definitely recommend.

Great teacher. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Had him for A&P 2. Tests are hard but the material is hard. Study hard and you will do well. Don't study and you won't. A lot of stories yes, but usually pretty interesting and always relevant. Great guy. Highly recommend him for A&P!!

Had him for A&P I & II lecture + lab and made it into the Nursing Program! Great professor, one of the best I've had, so understanding, approachable, & intelligent. Open to any questions you have, truly passionate about his subject/helping students. Notes are online, tests are challenging bc A&P itself is a tough subject, so study, you'll do fine.

Dr Hecht was such an amazing professors for a and p 170 he was so helpful and taught very clearly. I love him and wish i got into his class for a and p 171

So helpful! Has review sessions both in and out of class. Thoroughly goes over what will be on the test, how something will be asked, and gives you sample questions so you have an idea of how questions are worded!

professor Hecht is an amazing teacher! I am taking him for summer A&P 2 and although this course will always be challenging he is very helpful and makes it clear as to exactly what will be on tests and practicals. You must study for this class no matter who the teacher is but if you put forward effort you will be happy with your grade!

Great Professor! Took him for A&P I over the summer for a 5 week course.. and although the class had 7 tests ( 4 lecture, 3 lab), his tests were fair and if you put the work in you'll be sure to do well. Best professor I've ever had, would definitely take again.

Hecht is a great professor and overall nice guy, he allows his students to stay later in lab to look at bone models and muscles. His tests are a little hard because he puts subjects on them not covered in class, but if you skim the textbook or ask him what is on it you can get a good grade. He's also a professor at Hofstra University.

Took him this past semester. One of the best professors I have ever had. i would strongly recommend him if you want to pass A&P

Professor Hecht is extremely thoughtful and helpful . He goes above and beyond in his lectures to explain the criteria he expects you to retain. His tests were right out of the notes whicu he posts online for your access at anytime, my whole Class printed them out and read them closely. Id take him again for A&P 2

All around great man! Really cares for his students, a&p2 definitely isn't an easy class, but he makes it manageable. I had him for lab and he was fantastic. Very very helpful and clear. Got an easy A in his class! Definitely would take him again.

For an anatomy class hes pretty fair, just study and listen/follow his review sheets and you will do great. Hes all over the place sometimes but his tests are pretty easy. Its anatomy, no ones gonna hand you and A. Memorize what he says and go to open lab and u can most definitely get an A in his lab class

Took Dr. Hecht for A&P 1&2 during the summer session. As long as you pay attention in class and study his power points you will do well. He is an amazing teacher and I learned so much in a very short period of time . Im very happy I had him as a professor .

I had Dr. Hecht for Bio 166, he is really an incredible teacher. I had his wife last semester for 123- and boy, are they a pair! Both of them are absolutely brilliant and genuinely care about the students. You will not go wrong taking them for either class. Theyre clear on what they grade, and you learn an immense amount of material!

Overall I think he's a phenomenal Professor. He cares a lot about his students and he is always willing to answer questions and responds to emails promptly. However, process of elimination is not an option with him (most include none of the above questions), and you have to understand the material in order to succeed.

Dr. Hecht is the greatest science teacher I have ever taken. You can tell he loves what he does. Very funny and makes lecture/lab incredibly interesting. You definitely have to put in the work, but exams are straight forward.

Professor Alan was soo good. I wish I have him again for all my science courses. He is so caring. Get ready for his chessy jokes. The material is alot but just record his lectures because there is somethings he says that is not in the notes!

A&P2 is definitely more material but Professor Alan makes it so simple. I recorded his lectures and crammed the day before the test and still got 90 above in all my tests. If you tell him he worded a question wrong, he will give the entire class extra points, he is so humble!

Had Dr. Hecht for BIO166L and he was great! I dont see why anyone would leave a bad review. He gives you all the material you need to do well and if something is not in your book then it wont be on the practicals. His grading is fair and everything he goes over is on the practicals, so no surprises. Take him if you can, you wont regret it!

Dr. Hecht was great! For a tough course, the three practical exams he mad were pretty fair. He gives you half credits even if you didn't answer the whole question correctly. He cares about his students and he is very funny. You have to put in efforts since this is definitely not an easy A course.

Professor Hecht is truly a great teacher. His online class was very clear with very straightforward tests. It was a lot of studying but he taught the material very very well. He cares about his students and wants them to do well. Forsure take him!

Professor Hecht was by far the best Anatomy professor I had. Test questions came straight from his lecture power points. AMAZING professor. Such a great guy and answered all my questions. He truly wants all of his students to pass. I took this class in the middle of a pandemic and this professor was by far the best professor I have had at Fdale.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! I never rate my professors but I can not express how amazing of a professor he is. He makes class super interesting & throws in funny dad jokes. I actually like going to class, it has been tough paying attention now with online schooling due to COVID but he makes it fun and interesting making me actually want to learn & engage

An amazing professor! I would take his class again! He cares about his students. He fully explains the information in his lectures and will answer any questions. His lectures are heavy and entertaining and you have to pay attention and STUDY! His tests are fair and he gives an extra optional 5th test to replace a test grade or to make up an exam.

I would have received an A but honestly I did not try. Professor Hecht is a amazing and understanding professor. Take him if you cant decide, you wont regret it. Just dont let lab drag your grade down like mine. Professor Hecht is a great and fair teacher.

Professor Hect is a gem! I took him for BIO170 and he made bio so easy. He gives 4 exams with one optional final which just 20 questions from each of your previous exams. He does not give any hw so ur grade is from the exams. his notes have everything you need for ur exams, if u ask him for extra credit he will give it to u. Take him if u can!

The man, the myth, the legend. Dr. Hecht is one of my favorite professors of my college career so far. He gives review sheets and tells you everything you need to know, no surprises. If you have any questions he is always there to answer them for you. If study directly from the textbook and apply them to the models (for 170L/171L) you'll do great!

He was a nice professor who told a lot of stories at least once every class. He is extremely corny but nice. His power points were long and he went through them every class. He did curve up our final grade. His test questions came from his PowerPoint slides

Wow... what an amazing professor. The tests were very fair. He makes going to class something you look forward to. Somehow I had a great time learning one of the hardest classes thanks to him. I would 100% recommend taking him.

Hecht is fair. He's clear on what you need to know, from handing out sheets with anatomy to memorize, to going over mic slides/physio labs..no surprises on exams. He's very personable and you can't not get along with him. Not lecture heavy but his tests sure are- I'm talking 135 Q's. You must attend every class, pay attention and study to pass.

He's an amazing lecturer. Breaks down concepts in a way that even a high schooler would understand. His humor makes the material relatable and thus easier to recall. Grading criteria is very straight forward--3 major exams + 1 mandatory final exam. No homework. He gives an optional cumulative with the final if you want to drop your lowest exam.

Took this in spring for Bio170T . He tells you stories so you can remember certain topics. There are 4 exams which you definitely have to study really good to pass. He is a very nice and understanding man . Would definitely recommend taking the cumulative final.

Dr. Alan Hecht is hands down the best professor literally ever. He is so caring and kind and really wants his students to succeed. If he sees you trying your best, he wants to work with you and give you the best grade you can get. Review the lecture slides before and after class and you'll be good to go! Please take him!!! you wont regret it.

I recommend taking this professor for lecture, his lectures are very informative and straight forward. He lets you know exactly what's going to be on the exam. This class is still very hard but it's doable if you put the work in.

He was a great professor but I would definitely recommend making a quizlet off of each slide from the powerpoint since exams are directly from it. Record his lectures since some questions may be from that & his powerpoints too. His powerpoints also aren't the best but you have to work with what you have. I also wouldn't trust his "reviews" too much

The best lab professor you could take. He makes the class so easy and tells you what will be on the test. Your grade is based off 3 test and participation so if you go to class and study you will do good!!!

If I was able to take him for every class I would. He's has power points for every topic so make sure you study everything on it, he's gives very clear review sheets and most of the tests consists of that, but he adds a few questions that aren't on the review sheet so make sure u know all the info. There's 4 tests, you have to study to do well.
