blah blah blah
He was discussing Hindu Gods the other day and one of the girls in my class is Hindu and corrected his pronunciation and he went and got a dictionary and photcopied the page and highlighted the part where it shows pronunciation. He's an jerk.
should be at Harvard... the first professor I've had that didn't talk down to me.
The social issues seminar is awesome! UFO's, cults, other odd stuff. Also, great guest speakers. If you're interested in weird behavior, don't miss this.

Pretty interesting and dynamic. He kept me awake - most of the time. He'll help you if you ask him. He spent over an hour with me on one exercise. I learned alot..

Picks good subject matter, well informed, and open minded about other points of view. Lots of enthusiasm, and cares about teaching. Take this class if you like to learn. A good guy.
AN absolute brillant profeesor. If you like learning take this class. Its a seminar so be redy to input your ideas into the class. The only asignments are 4 take home tests, and then he grades what you learn, not how mny words you spell wrong.GREATGUY
I did not like this professor at all! He is very degrading to women and talks about things that are not relevant to class.
Very thurough teacher. Reading is a must in the class. Overall he is very helpful when you need it and is more than willing to help.

(Telecourse) Seemed a little arrogant, demeaning and annoyed the only time I contacted him with a question and at the orientation. Class is very difficult, although the study guides help quite a bit.
Extremely helpful! He spent over 30 minutes on the phone trying to help me with the telecourse. You really have to stay on schedule, but a great teacher.
Wow! This is one intelligent guy! His class was off-the-wall in a totally fresh way. He made a class out of some otherwise wacky topics a joy every week. He lectures about topics that the class comes up with, which makes it very interesting. Brilliant!
A very helpful guy. He'll really take time with you if you ask him. But he treats you as a mature adult - not a child. So, you gotta ask!
This man is the best. He is inciteful, interesting, fun, brilliant, constantly interesting, fair, and reasonable. Plus, he is sooo cute. If Delta could clone him, every student in the world would register!
A fairly easy course, his tests are hard unless you read every page he assigns. He is a jerk to students who do not want to major in sociology. He thinks that he knows everything just because he went to Columbia University. He likes to bragg about himself
The best prof I've had at Delta. Funny, interesting... but do the reading!
can't believe how much he knows.... but he never talks down to students ... do the reading and you'll be ok....
a good class
Really helpful! He returned e-mail messages real quick.... And spent two hours helping me with a test.
not too hard if you do the reading ... interesting - even fun sometimes. he knows alot
Mr. Hill isn't bad...he just has his way of teaching. The tests are hard...you have to study. There's alot of reading involved. He'll even tell you that if you are taking alot of "reading classes" not to take more than 3. Avg reading is 100 pag
Very good teacher. Not too hard, not too easy. Lecures get a little dry sometimes, but not very often.
This is one cool guy. It takes a little time to get to know him, but when you do, you realize that he really cares about his students. And he's really funny - naturally, not with lame jokes. He may be "over 50" as he says, but he's kinda hot!
I loved this course. You'll really learn about human behavior - theory and applications. But do the reading. Half the tests come from the reading.
Very strange teacher. It takes a while to get a feel for what he is about but, is very interesting. This guy gets a worse wrap then he deserves. Very caring and helpful and the class was very easy a lot of common sense stuf.
good teacher. a little different but made class fun. test are hard though. study your notes and read the book and you should be alright!
He really cares about students. And he seems to know just about everything - a walking encyclopedia
Reminds me of the father on that one show, 3rd Rock From the Sun. Everyone else summed him up pretty well.
He really wants the students to do well. He does an excellent job of presenting information. Whenever he says something, he will give examples to back it up, which makes it easier to understand what he is teaching. Pay attention in class. It helps!
Very boring, hard to get a good grade! Doesn't like anyones opinion except for his own.
Mr. Hill is lucky to know the names of his students by the end of the semester. He is very arogent..he talks about himself constantly. Does not like to hear anyone's point of view..if it is different from his, it's wrong. He is a very smart person though.
Took telecourse and was beyond hard. Grade was based on 3 tests that were on 7-8 chapters each, and between 55-70 multiple choice questions. Each one had maybe 5 questions out of the study guide, if that, so it was very hard.
he is totally boring I hate this class, I don't recommend it to anyone take someone else, what a waist of time
Dr Hill is brilliant. His classes are not for slackers that just need to meet requisites. Expect to work for a grade, but expect to be interested in the material he presents. Dr. hill is well rounded in his material and a great sociologist. soc major
I took the telecourse. THought it was a breeze. You have to keep up with the work but as long as you do the reading, most of the tests are from the videos. You only have 3 test and dont have to listed to him talk. Take the class
Super easy!
He's really cool. His goofy sense of humor helps keep your attention. He mixes things up and offers extra credit. Interesting lectures, easy assignments & grades. Willing to help & answer questions. Take him!
Self-important for sure. Didn't know my name though there were only about 14 students. Keep your opinions to yourself or risk copious notes about how wrong you are on the back of your papers. I got an A in the class, but it wasn't worth the effort.
keeps talking about same stuff over and over. He talks a lot about his sex life, and politics. It's really not necessary. I wouldn't take his class if you paid me hundreds of dollars!!
I would not tell anyone to take this class! He is a very intelligent man, but I hate the class. Brings in too much about sex in his conversations... and politics. VERY boring lectures. The only good thing is you get to use your notes on the test, but they are over like 5-6 chapters at a time.
If you are a woman, do not go to his office. He is crazy.
One of the underrated professors in Delta. Lots of reading for this course, but each test is precede by review session, where almost all the multiple choice questions are covered. If you take good notes, and understand the materials, should not have a problem getting an A in his class.
GET YOURSELF AN IRIVER OR SAMSUNG MP3/VOICE RECORDER AND RECORD YOUR LECTURES AND LISTEN TO THEM OVER AT LEAST TWICE, ANYTHING HE REPEATS IS ON THE TEST. HES VERY OPPINIONATED AND A LITTLE WEIRD. DONT ARGUE ABOUT MASTERBATION HE KNOWS FAR MORE THAN YOU DO.
good professor. You will have to internalize everything he lectures on, it is the key to successfully completeing this course. The journal entries help understand the material better.Just ask for help he will be glad to help.
The class is interesting if you pay attention and understand the points he is attempting to get at. I was able to get an A without reading a single page of the book. There are only 2-3 questions on each test from the reading. Take good notes because you can use them on the test.

ME, ME, ME.....I am the greatest professor. SEX, SEX, SEX. This what he talks in class all the time.
He is a very intelligent professor. His love, knowledge, and passion for this class gives students a great deal of insight, which is want he wants students to learn about.
He knows what he is talking about in the classes. And you get to use your notes on your tests. So take many notes during lectures. I would recommend this teacher to any students taking this class.
Very intelligent!
I didn't care for him all that much since he made a crack about Psychologists (I'm a psych. major) and his lecture (only one, I took this as a telecourse) was very boring. The class was super easy, though. I didn't do any of the reading and watched one of the videos and got A's on all the tests. A very easy 3 credits--could've taken it blindfolded.
I did not enjoy this class one bit. He is all about himself and sex. In fact that is all he talks about. I can honestly say I did not learn a thing in his class. Horrible! DO NOT TAKE HIM!!
Mr. Hill is not all about sex. He is proud of his accomplishments and sometimes broads about it, but it's easy to look past. He does lecture in monotone, so if you need excitement or variety, he is not for you. He is VERY clear on his expectations and you can use notes on tests. This DOES NOT make the test any easier!!
Intelligent man, decent teacher. I learned things in the class, didn't do much reading, and passed with an A. Easy class, notes on tests.
He is an awesome professor. Allows notes on tests and lots of room for extra credit. Thought provoking movies are shown too. This was a really fun class for me and as long as you pay attention to his lectures, you will do fine. He is very fair and doesn't assign much homework. He is very interested in his subject and loves to talk to his students.
What an intelligent man! He is like a fine wine - he got better and better as the semester went on. I highly recommend him to all.
It was a terribly boring class. All he talks about is sex, religion and aliens. He thinks his opinion is the only one that matters. He didn’t talk about anything interesting or useful. Always got off track and it took him honestly about 10-15 minutes to answer a simple question, because he had to put his 2 cents in. I would NEVER recommend him.
dont take this class
I personally think he is the best professor i've ever had and probably the smartest guy alive.
Great Class, Great Prof, there was a lot of work, but I learned a lot.
I took this as a telecourse, so I didn't get that much interaction w/ him, but I did attend a couple of lectures. The material is ridiculously easy (I watched a couple of the tapes and barely did any reading and got A's on the exams). I was offended, however, when he put down psych. in his first lecture, since I am a psych. major.

most boring teacher ever. dont take this class. He thinks he is the smartest person alive and that his thoughts are the only ones that are correct. take a different teacher
Good teacher. Very fair.
This is the most boring teacher i have ever had.. he thinks that his thoughts are right and no one elses matter. He is hooked on showing u how to use a computer like we are dumb... i hated him DO NOT TAKE HIM... oh yea and dont dare ask him a question
If you need to take socs, DONT get him. He is the most boring teacher EVER, he thinks his answers are the best ever, and he just knows EVERYTHING. You can't even ask a question becuase he makes you feel stupid. So my adivce is DONT get him as your professor!
I liked Hill as a prof. If you are willing to put a little effort forward, Hill is a good teacher. He talks a lot and has "rabbit trails" but it is all in attempt to help you learn better. Make sure you let him know you are interested and it will all go good. Don't sweat the first test. He reviews before every test and gives some of the answers! :)
Very boring teacher. If you want an easy A, this is the class for you. Almost no homework, you get to use notes on your tests, and he tells you almost everything on the test for an hour before you take it. If you took notes only during his review, you could still get a B in his class.
Mr. Hill is a very good teacher. I loved his class and found his lectures very interesting. Make sure you take notes on everything you can because you can use them on the test. Read the book. He has a few videos that make the class even more fun & if you have an open mind you will do fine in this class and actually learn something. Take his class.
Really boring teach, I didn't learn anything in his class. Everything he taught i already learned in speech 211 and psy 112. I dreaded his lectures for 3hours, i had to force my self to stay for the whole class
He is an interesting teacher. If you like to read alot then take him. I did learn alot. If you pay attention in class and do your reading, it is an easy A.
VERY BORING TEACHER.
I took a Telenet course. Not sure where he earned his salary on this one. He never participated. Grades were hardly posted. I think he had an issue with students taking the Telenet course vs. being face to face with him. For the reading and work involved, this shoudl have been atleast a 4 credit class, not a 3.
Nice teacher, but I took this class online. I think he had some problems with teaching over the INET. 3 tests, and 10 discussion boards-I liked sociology, but was a little upset b/c I never knew what was right or wrong. It took a while to get grades, but i think if I were in class, I would love him!! He is very understanding, overall good guy.
easy easy class.. boring lectures but take notes during his reviews and you shouldnt have a problem. just dont ask or answer questions unless you want to feel small, dumb, and EXTREMELY WRONG. dont buy the book and dont bother to read the 75 pgs. he assigns each class. no point what so ever
To be honest, he was the most BORING teacher ever, and was very hard to understand. I dreaded going to his class every Thursday at 4 for a 3 hour class. I felt completely dumb when going, no matter if I read the readings or not. He didn't explain things well, and his exams were not bad. It didn't help that he would review for tests on the day o
I absolutely loved going to this class. He was always very very helpful and always had something worth while to say. The quizzes were easy if you just do the reading. Overall I learned a lot and would take his class again in a heartbeat!
WORST TEACHER EVER! TOO OLD, TOO MANY BORING STORIES, he dosent breathe while talking. he is useless. his teachers stratagies suck!
gah! save yourself and try to find another teacher. He seems to get angry when you ask questions or disagree with him at all! i was interested in the class and now ive realized i made a big mistake by taking his class.
I'm suprised at all the negative comments. If u think he's boring, then u must not b interested in Sociology. the guy is F'n brilliant and very helpful. I learned tons and he lets you use ur notes on the test. how can u not love him for that reason alone?
Mr Hill has a great sense of humor and tells lots of stories in class about his travels. You'll enjoy taking his class.
Boring
Boring class, he seems to get mad everytime that someone has something to say or get up to go to the bathroom. Always wants to talk and gets off subject a lot. Would not recommend him unless you love sociology!
Boring class, he seems to get mad everytime that someone has something to say or get up to go to the bathroom. Always wants to talk and gets off subject a lot. Would not recommend him unless you love sociology!!!
He does not play around at all its a very hard class but he lets you use the notes you take and use them in the tests. If your the type that likes to do nothing and get a C this class is not for you.
I took the INET course and I think it was horrible. He was just plain rude the one time I called him. I just wanted to make sure he got my email. He talked down to me and made me want to tell him what I really thought of him. I would NEVER take him again. I would change schools if I had too.
I took the INET Course and I busted my butt studying and reading. Because it was a 7 week class it was intense. If you follow the syllabus, know the answers to the focus questions, and practice tests you will do fine in the class. He answered all my questions promptly and professionally.
At first i didnt know what to think about him, after a few weeks I grew to like him more as a professor.
Prof. is EXTREMELY
Professor is EXTREMELY patronizing and condescending. He teaches as if we're at a "how to be a flaming liberal democrat" boot camp. Often teaches from opinion as if it is fact. I dread this class and leave with a pounding headache every week, not exaggerating. I regret EVER taking this class and will tell everyone I know NOT to take him.
You are better at just staying home and reading the required material! It is very hard to understand where he is going with his lecture. The class is super boring. Also, do not plan on getting a break. You can pass witout even going to class just take exams and turn in exercises that he posts on Educator...
Don't even waste your time, he is rude and is always right, he acts as if you have no intelligence! His tests do not reflect study guides. I dropped out of his class due to the lack of understandig his teaching techniques and where he was even going with his discussions. He's old and needs to retire.
I had him for an INET class and thought it was easy. Read the material, watch the videos and take the practice quizzes and you will do fine. When I emailed him he got back to me quickly and answered all my questions. Don't fall behind in chapters and post on time and you will pass.
Claims that he is here to teach, yet preaches his opinions. Rude, condescending, argumentative, and frequently goes off of tangents. He is a blatant liberal democrat that will try to convert everybody. More then anything else, he is the most disrespectful teacher I have ever encountered.
I had him for an INET class and thought the class was quite easy. I finished with a B+ and barely watched the videos and skimmed over the chapters. He is a very helpful teacher also, responds to emails within a day. Would recommend for INET especially.
Very helpfull
Very helpfull and understanding
He is a very easy grader and all notes can be used on the tests. But it is a FULL 3 hour class every time, and he jumps ahead of himself and is very scatterbrained which begines to get incomprehensible.
Professor gets very off topic and lecture is very scattered. Class is full 3 hours with a 5-10min break. Tests are open note and homework can be re done for full points. Off topic but he wears the same black zip up shirt everyday. Very boring class but easy A or B
very off topic. the class never gets out early and only get a 5 min break 2 hours into class. shows a lot of boring movies. but tests are open note.
This is a very easy class but so boring! He will use the whole class time to lecture and is very off topic and scattered. you do get to use notes on the test and every paper can be resubmitted for full points. Easy A!
Wow, I'm really surprised by all the negative comments. I took his INET class one summer (7 week course) and I loved it. Professor Hill was VERY nice to me on the phone, and was helpful with any and ALL questions I had during the semester. Also the syllabus was clear and concise - which is always nice when taking online courses. Great Teacher!!
I took this class through INET...very nice professor. Let's you know what is expected and willing to answer any questions you made have..he even gives you his cell phone number so you can call him on the weekend if you need to..Now that is an awesome professor..didn't like the book he used..hard to read but you do the work, you'll get a good grade
He traveled way off topic and was so boring. the test he gave had questions on it that was neither covered in lecture or the reading.
Be warned!! I do not reccommend this class to anyone. Discussions in class do not match up with exams, nor do the study questions he gives us. A little arrogant, and very off topic.
insufferable. he goes off on tangents and if you disagree with him its because you are wrong. he constantly tests you and grades you based on opinion. don't answer with what you know is right, just give the answer you know he's looking for. he shoves his belief in aliens down your throat the whole semester. highly suggest avoiding this class.
I took his internet course and it was quite easy. You only need to do 10 discussion boards and 3 exams. I read the book chapters and watched the videos for the first exam and got an A. The next ones I just studied the practice tests and got B's, so it's really not hard at all. If you have to take a Sociology class take this one online! Very easy!
I took this class online. He allowed you to correct most of your mistakes on discussion boards, which was nice, and provided extra credit! Overall he was a good teacher and sociology is not an interesting topic to me but he was lenient. If you study for exams and do all that is required you will receive an A.JSYK: the videos really help, watch them!
I really enjoyed this class. It's not hard to get a good grade as long as you watch the video's and read - an easy A as long as you aren't bogged down w/too many other classes & work, as I was. Expectations and due dates are clearly defined & easy to follow. I wouldn't hesitate to take another one of his classes!
Teacher is extremely rude and not very helpful whatsoever. If you get test anxiety don't take this class because you get an hour to complete tests that sometimes have more than 60 questions. It's also a lot of work with videos and reading IF you want an earned "A". I took my usual 4 classes like every other semester and was completely overwhelmed.
Lots of reading! I took the internet class, so I did expect that. I did all the extra credit (30 pts total) and it helped in the end. The class isn't terribly hard, just stay with his reading orders (chapter jumping) and do the work. The syllabus is exactly what I followed and I got an A. Study guide was a great help too.
Mr. Hill only does what you ask him to do. If you are struggling and need help he will help. If you are doing fine on your own, he will leave you alone. This class is done at your own pace. He gives you lots of time to read the required sections and watch the videos. He is a nice guy.
The online course consisted of nearly no homework and your grade was based solely upon 3 exams you took. Since there were no homework assignments, it was hard to determine what would be on the exams. He is also a very tough grader and has a comment and critisism for EVERYTHING you say, do, hand in, etc.
No homework at all. Discussion boards that have NOTHING to do with the book. You can easily answer them with common sense. Only graded on exams which you have no clue what is going to be on them because you don't get assignments.
Hill seems like a nice guy but I wouldn't know because I never talked to him. Communication is lacking in this class. And the reading. Dear goodness, it was awful and there was so much. I've taken other online classes and expected there to be some but this went way past that. The tests were kind of hard but I always had time to look things up.
Professor Hill means well, I just wish he would have communicated more often with us students.(Took his online class) There is A LOT of reading that can often be confusing, but if you read and watch the videos, you should easily get an A. Also offers extra credit, which is nice.
There are 10 discussion board posts for 10 points each - graded pretty easy on these. Then three online tests worth 100 pts each that you take at home - timed, multiple choice based off readings and the videos that you have to watch. About a third of the questions are directly from the study guide book. Up to 40 free EC pts - do them get an A
