Prof. Khuu was great! He explained everything clearly and was very helpful. He teaches his class using powerpoints, which he provides for students to follow along with. There were 3 exams, 3 quizzes, a midterm, and a final. I highly recommend you take Prof. Khuu. I will definitely take his other chemistry classes.

He is definetly one of the best teachers within the Chemistry Dept, and worth taking. He makes the class really funny, although sometimes it may get a really boring. I will not say that his class is easy, his tests are extremely hard, but you just have try and you'll probably get a good grade.

SUPER EASY! explains things pretty well. gives lots of explains. his slides explain way too much compared to what he quizzes you. quizzes are more calculation based than conceptual, but there still are conceptual questions! his pretty much sum up the whole book, so no book really needed at all.

Mr. Khuu is one of the best professors tat I've ever taken. his lecture is very clear, u will be fine if u understand the notes he gives.he is very nice to every student. really really recommend him!!!

He is really fun! He gives handouts and use powerpoint, taking notes is way easier. The lecture is very clear and helpful, and he's more than happy to help. But you have to really study, he is not easy. If you wanna really learn somthing or go for advanced chem, definitely take his class!

Come on guys, Prof Khuu makes chem 221 so easy and his tests are also very easy. He is a nice guy and always trying to help students. The only thing I want to complaint of is that he makes materials too easy and might not be enough in preparing students for the future study.If you say he is hard, you should not take this class at the first place.

If u really want to learn take him, hes really helpful when u want help. hes test are easy if u do the problems from the book, u don't need the book,but its strongly recommended.

I had him for lab only. He was very helpful and his was very clear when helping students. His lectures were even better than my lecture professor's. The amount of work assigned and his grading method is pretty lenient. I had an enjoyable time taking his lab class.

first thing I have to say he's kool, very kool. he explains well and answers all questions you ask. test is extremely easy, you just do all example that in his note. you will be fine if do all I say. high recommended!

he's such a shady teacher, telling us not to worried about certain things on the test and yet the whole test emphasize alot on it. He's NOT easy at all. the class ended up with only 15 student at the end

Mr. Khuu is probably the cutest science teacher that I have had- I definately had a little crush on Mr. Khuu this semester. With that said, I didn't think he was an "easy" teacher- and it was a bit hard to figure out how he was going to test. But no complaints here. He does make you learn if you are willing to put in your part.

Also, I have to mention that he's really dedicated and well-prepared for all lectures and labs, and the class is well-managed. He is especially good if you want to hone your lab skills because he will really make you think and practice practice your lab techniques. Overall, he's a great teacher. Highly recommend!

I think Professor Khuu puts a lot of more experienced teachers to shame. It is true that 15 students remained at the end, but close to half or half of the remaining 15 students ended up with an A, so it isn't impossible to do well in his class. Just do your part and study hard- you won't find a better teacher than Professor Khuu.

He's a really good teacher! Tests aren't super easy but not that bad. Teaches from powerpoint and is thorough enough that you don't need the book!

One of the best teacher at ELAC. He knows how to teach! I had lec once a week for 3 hours at a time and never did I get bored in class. It's teachers like Mr. Khuu that makes learning fun and easy. Grade based on 3 exams, 3 quizzes, and 1 final. Many dropped but as long as you attend class and study you'll do great.

Professor Khuu may quite possibly be one of the best professors at elac. He lectures through ppt and they're thorough enough that you don't have to buy a book :) He is also so incredibly knowledgeable, passionate about the subject, and dedicated to helping his students. I highly recommend this teacher to any science majors/any student in general :D

I wasn't interested in chemistry before but Professor Khuu definitely turned that around. He is by far one of the best teachers at ELAC. His class is very straightforward but you have to study hard. He is always available during office hours and is very helpful.

This teacher is super awesome!!! He taught me what I could not learn last semester in less than an hour for multiple topics! He is not boring, passionate about the subject, and he is a great teacher. A great professor who is organized and clear with his lectures. Extremely helpful and always available for his students; never gave me a forward answer. He did answer my questions with questions of his own to help me process my thoughts. Emphasizes details, & I liked his reason why... you want a doctor who knows what they are doing!

Professor Khuu is the epitome of easiness & false accomplishment. There is a high chance of you getting an A, but at the cost of not mastering the fundamentals you will need. He explains REALLY well and makes the subject approachable, but he doesn't challenge you nor make you think critically in the tests. Best choice out of Rivera & Valverde.

Professor Khuu is great. His lectures are engaging, and he provides with all you to know in his power point lectures. Beware of his tests they are sometimes tricky. It's best to always do his homework and study all the concepts in the notes. I took the night class it's pretty intense you will be doing a lot of studying on your own.

There is something missing in these comments, besides teaching the subject, prof khuu provides life lessons from his own life experiences. Prof. Khuu is a real person, not just a robotic teacher telling us "stuff" we might or not use in the future. Prof. Khuu is a good teacher and an even better human being... recommend his class.

Super nice person,crazy exam,easy final and he curve.Do come to office hour cause it help plus he really is approachable.Exam not difficult but he kinda test the most unexpected part of knowledge.1 Que worth 10/20pt so do show your work or you lose all the pt if wrong.Do well in final cause it is most important and test basic.Oh,he is easy to add!

I attended his lectures for BIO 3 which was ok. He did an ok job with the class. He does great lectures and many times he had gone off topic. His tests was difficult because most of the questions weren't based off his lectures so I end up having problems. He doesn't have quizzes either. Lastly, he is a nice guy.

Probably one the best chemistry instructors at elac. He really knows his stuff and demonstrates an interest in his students. His lectures were well organized and precise. By far one of the best/coolest professor I had. Clear and interesting lectures. Down to the point, his exams are somewhat easy but he does throw a few curve balls in the exams. he doesn't curve the exams, but he does give 10% for completion of homework. Class average was ~65% so dont expect an easy A. What you put in is what you get!

He is laid back, crystal clear, and stresses fundamentals all semester long. If you take his Ochem, you will learn Gchem all over again. 2 birds 1 stone.

I absolutely recommend this professor but you really have to know it ALL. KNOW YOUR MATH. Final will consist of mainly MATH. I like that he is very clear and uses real life examples. However, expect the final to be difficult.

Very clear in lectures and open to answering questions. A lot of math on tests. Hardly used the textbook, mostly learned from notes. Homework is for all Chem 120 classes so doesn't relate to the stuff he teaches.

I took his class in BIO 3 which he was ok at. But taking him for Chem was better because he knew all the things and he was clear on what to know. He also gives good amounts of break.

Prof. Khuu really cares about the students' education and their success in the long run, therefore, he is tough on you but it helps prepare you for future science classes. His test for this class are purely multiple choice. They are not very difficult questions just as long as you know his material inside & out. P.S. He is all about sig figs!

I took him for Chem 102 as well and love his style of teaching. His lectures are extremely interactive and allows the student to think whats going on behind the chemistry. He stresses fundamentals a lot as well. Three midterms and a final, nothing too special. Although his exams can be tricky; they require a lot of thought to ensure mastery. A++

Mr. Khuu is my favorite chemistry professor at ELAC. I do recommend him but he doesn't teach that much anymore. :( I wish he could teach my o-chem. He is very nice, smart and funny. BEST TEACHER EVER!

I feel sorry for students who don't take his class. He is very clear on what he is teaching. He gave PPTs, he emphasizes the important parts of lecture so you are aware. He repeats important parts for students to memorize easily.

Loved his class. Took him in winter. I struggled keeping up with other chem profs because they moved too fast for me. Khuu takes his time to go through the material which was extremely helpful in actually learning and absorbing the info instead of rushing to write everything down. Will definitely take for future chem courses. Highly recommended!

Khuu is a very understanding prof. With that being said, he always makes sure the entire class understands the concepts before continuing on with lecture. He takes the time to explain and always encourages students to ask questions. He DOES curve depending on the class grades which can be a lifesaver. I highly recommend him!

For those who aren't confident in Chem, take his class. I took his class in a 4-week course and got an A on it. The workload is not a lot and his grading criteria are straight to the point. I was nervous about taking Chem. If you ask everyone they will tell you chem is hard. I loved this class. Professor Khuu encourages you to sing up for Sapling Learning online. Its 75$ but its a great investment I did great throughout the semester. I used the book & the online learning really explains it very well. Take him. you wont regret it.

IDK what to say but: TAKE HIM!! I took him for the winter (2021) online (4-5 weeks). This was a review class for me bc I took chem 5 YEARS AGO at my 4 year UNI but i needed to update it for a program I am taking. Take notes on his ppt and do the HW. ALL IS STRAIGHT FOWARD, UNDERSTANDING, AND EASY. There are 4 test with 25 question, EASY!!!

Took him during 5 week winter course during COVID. There's 4 exams including the final which is cumulative (30 questions per exam, 40 questions - final) Homework must submitted through online portal (purchase required) Class has labs that are done with data tables provided or youtube videos & submitted online

I took this course because I dropped my ochem class at GCC. I took it in Winter 2022 this was a 3-week course fully online asynchronous course. You had all week to take your exams and both exams and hw were due on Sunday at midnight. Exams were easier than hw. You can pass this class with an easy A while picking up important material. 3 exams

There were no live lectures, only textbook sections that you would need to read and slideshows. There are three hw sets, three midterm tests, and the finale. Pretty much whatever is on the hw set is going to be on the tests. As long as you do the hw, you should be fine. If you ever need to reach out to him, he's pretty quick to reply.

Look, don't take a class like this if you are not ready to get serious or you will fail. Just wait, I put in the work, stressed a bit but passed. This professor is great, fast, helpful and very knowledgable. Put in the work and you will succeed

Take him! I never took Chemistry before, and I got an A. You can too! His tests are very straightforward. No tricks. No pulling out hard questions from the book that you've never seen. Even the homework that is due are the odd problems. He wants you to do well.

This was an easy A. Its three sets of homework and two discussions aside from the exams. Exams were 25 questions worth 100 points.. When I emailed the teacher he responded within the hour through his iPhone. Though the course is mostly self taught.

Took this class for Fall Semester (15 weeks). Lectures were fully online, there were 3 exams and 1 final (not proctored) and in person lab. There is 3 sets of homework, which you turn in, but all the answers are in the back of the text book. Professor is very easy to reach, and as long as you put in the effort, you will get an A

I took 19 units during this class and it was manageable. If you message the professor, he responds QUICK! Make sure you set a time to read the book, and go over the lectures. I took the lab with Jose Alvarenga, and he was also great! He responded to every question when doing the labs. Both were amazing professors. The more you study the better.

We had 3 exams,1 final, 2 discussions, 3 sets of HW, no EC. I took him online and he only had slides, but I asked if he had zoom recordings and he posted them. He is a wonderful lecturer and explains things thoroughly. He is available via zoom by appt, engage with him. I also recommend going to tutoring every day to review HW and concepts.

I chose Professor Khuu's course in the of 2025. This class was very low-stress because you have plenty of time to complete the assignments. The assignments weren't difficult either. If you need to take a chemistry course, I highly recommend choosing Professor Khuu. Best professor at ELAC.

Fully asynchronous online class with online lab. From day 1, Professor Khuu had the entire course already loaded on Canvas. Homework can get lengthy, but you have ample time to complete it. He also responds quickly if you have any additional questions/need help. Lectures were easy to follow. Do the work and you'll pass.
