Calls himself Fat ****. Great professor, but his course was the worst!!!
nice guy.brutal course
Nice guy but too much work and so so grades
Nice guy, i don't think it was a lot of work...can sleep through classes
Had him for stats1 and finance. This man knows his stuff, almost too well. Great sense of humor, and is very approachable. But needs to slow it down a little with the number crunching on the board. I couldn't keep up to him. Would take another class of hi
Professor Marshall makes Finance interesting. He is dedicated to his subject and students. If you have an opportunity to talk to him one on one, you'll realize her really is a nice guy. The course is intense, but work hard and it will be rewarding!
I can't say anything nice, so I won't say anything at all!
i love this prof... he kicks asss... everyone should take his course... learned a lot from this man!
Not nice at all....ask him a question and he turns the other way. A bit of a snob.
Marks aren't that great, but at least you know you earn what you get.
This prof knows what he is teaching. You have to work hard in this course to stay on top of the assignments and get through the exams. I learned a lot from him and his course. He looks intimidating but is really a nice guy.
Don't worry if you don't get off to the greatest start in his course (the mid term marks weren't that great), just work hard on the assignments and study hard for the final, and you WILL get the mark you deserve.
what can I say, he is so not prepared, messed up with two tests....stay away
worst guy ever.
He is always willing to help his students. He is a great prof!
Bright and very funny prof. Marks aren't that great (for all the course) and assignments take forever (some good 8hrs)!!! But knows what he's talking about and makes every effort to explain everything
Everyone says that he is a good professor. However, I do not think so. He is the poor one that I ever have in my university life. Don't take his course. He just gives you basic knowledge and very unpolite with students.
generally very well prepared with clear slides.
was a stats class...knows his stuff...excellent communications......dunno abt teh snob bit
since he knows alot, he expects alot.
So far one of the best profs in Atkinson school and university in total
He is a poor professor I ever have. I did not need to go for his lecture for good marks. Also, I did not know what I have learned after his class. Moreover, he did not reply students email and answer questions from students. Furthermore, he was lazy.
Oh where to begin! Firstly, I made the mistake of taking the class via internet (messageboards & posted lectures). He did not visit the site more than once every two weeks to answer students questions. As well, he was late posting the lectures so you were always behind. CAUTION Avoid this prof.
what's his problem??!!
I gotta say he does know his material. However, is quiz's are VERY difficult. He hasn't have ANYTHING similar to the textbook or practice questions he does. All I have to say is that if he wrote his own midterm and final, everyone would FAIL!
If you want to learn something in Finance - take this class. His personal experiences are incorporated in his lectures. This is one of the best Profs at York. People that tell you otherwise are only interested in getting an A without effort.
hes alright, tough, but fair
the lectures are NOT helpful. tons of independent learning, VERY slow in returning marks.
This guy is the worst professor ever. He does not care if you undertand the material or not. He does not care to provide you feedback on your performance.
Worst professor I have ever had. No real direction, its better just to go the tutorials then attend his lectures. He doesn't do questions in class, just provides theory (which is useless)
This prof is funny, but tough. His lectures do try to simplify things with lots of examples, and he tries to explain theories which was really helpful. However, quizzes are really hard and so is the midterm and final - so much theory!!! Read the text, or you're in trouble. I did learn a lot, tho.
I did horrifyingly bad in his class - I don't recall learning anything and I have no desire to continue learning statistics because of this class.
Worst professor I have ever had. The lectures are useless, quizzes are hard.

stats was a hard, but he made the classes fun...he always makes fun of his weight! it's hilarious...great guy
This professor is very smart but not very good at explaining. He will confuse people by throwing in a lot of stats jargon. He is funny and his quizzes are hard. Definitely go to the tutorials, they are key to this class! He does bell-curve final grades if it makes a difference in letter grades.
Terrible teacher.
avoid
Teaches what some would consider a dry subject and he actually managed to make it interesting and easy to grasp for all the non-quant/techies. He's a funny guy too.
He is a great prof. Very helpful if you ask for help. Very professional and teaches well. You will get A if you work hard in the course.
he was very lame, not a good prof to take, if u have him get out!
He's hillarious, but funny dosent cut it at uni. He cant explain anything, and dosent explain in detail.
This prof is awesome, I just love his class. He explains clearly and i didn't get bored at all. If you go to every single class and listen to his lectures, you will be fine but don't forget to go to tutorials too which is the most important. If you go to tutorials and lectures, you will get an A coz that's what I've got.
THE WORST PROF IN THE WORLD....I Dont know what those other people were smoking who said he's great?????? His lecture has nothing to do with the important stuff. IF YOU HAVE HIM RUNNNNNNNN and dont stop ...jkz...all you need is the tutorial and you will get a good mark. but if you think you will get something from his lectures.ur dreamin He sukzz
This is the worst possible professor in the University. Not only is he Lazy, but he is also rude when he asked questions. He comes to class late and leaves early without putting in much effort to impart knowledge. He goes verbatim from his slides like it is a reading course. Stay away from this class! Find a prof who give value for ure money.
He is the worst prof to have, First of all he cna't teach, Second of all he doesn't know what he is talkin about, Third of all if you have him, please drop the course and take a different prof, the course is not bad but prof is GARBAGE
horrible class. not a hands on person at all, he skips the math. All on PPT, straight from question to answer, saying the equation he used, and just JUMPS to the answer. No space for learning techniques or anything.
You have to teach yourself, watch out for those quizzes
The only thing he does is insult Microsoft, because he wasn't able to get square root sign properly in power point and if you ask him any questions he will start yelling before you even open you mouth. NEVER TAKE A CLASS WITH HIM
powerpoints and lectures need to be improved...i used the slides from the textbook website to TEACH MYSELF the concepts. funny guy and makes class fun...but tough to gather much from the lectures. be careful of quizzes..
Absolutely arrogant, grumpy and a complete deterrant to aiding you in achieving a good mark. A real failure as a professor, in addition to his meaningless lecture slides, constant poor attempt at comedy. You will surely end up teaching YOURSELF THE COURSE.Never attempts a single question on the board. We should all wonder what this guy gets paid for
If you see him..... drop it......
A very intelligent person with a great sense of humour. You NEVER have enough time to finish quizes. Mid-term is fair. You have plenty of time for the final. GO TO TA'S for help, it's really useful. Get to know him - he offers help.
Marshall is a decent prof. He knows his stuff and should maybe be teaching a higher level of stats. Everyone is hard on him because stats is a hard course but if you do well Im sure you will not dislike him as much. He will help you if you show you care about the course.
listen to the whiners. had this prof a couple of times, all you need to do is put in the effort cause the stuff is hard and he gives good marks.
DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!! Switch immediately, im warning you. Dont fall into the same mistake i did. He cant teach... goes thru all theories and no application. Hes marks hard too, ex. first assignment was the exact same last assignment for stats 1, i got 80 in that and he fails me. Take Mike Roachon, hes a really teacher
Professor Marshall expects a lot from his students and is unwilling to compromise on that, that's why he has a bad rep. He is hilarious in class while still presenting the material clearly and in an interesting manner. Don't expect to cruise through this course though, it does require ACTUAL effort on your part.
He can't teach for his life. HORRIBLE PROF! I learned the whole course on my own, from the textbook. Lectures were the biggest waste of time.
he is very a lazy dude. when you ask him for help, he just says something like: "this is not in my concern", and will blame Atkinson for everything! lectures are pretty boring. i admitt this is, partly due to the course content, but M Rochon is making far better job than this prof!
Great prof. Probably my favourite prof at YU. Never had him for stats, but he was awesome at doing business case analysis. Didn't spoonfeed ones who didn't understand/made no attempt at the material and that's why so many hate him. Too bad I had one class with the garbage they replaced him before I graduated. I signed up for it to be in his class.
Good guy but not someone everbody would love. He teaches on a higher level with theoretical prespective in mind.
he has a right to and does expect effort from his students. as long as you show you put in the effort, you will be rewarded. good sense of humour, intelligent discussions in class
Nice guy
Alan Marshall rocks! He focuses on theory during the lecture which really helps you understand the underlying meaning behind all the numbers, while he would provide a TA who will teach you how to do all the math. Of course... if you don't like theory then his course probably wouldn't be for you.
A great prof does not necessarily have to be an easy one. Students are expected to work hard, and they are given the grades they deserve. He is very helpful and approachable, and encourages students to practice so that they can become better on their own- this is not a subject that can be spoonfed to anyone.
Students are expected to work hard, and earn grades they deserve. He encourages students to practice so that they can become better on their own. He really knows his stuff. There are so many mathematically dumb students in this course. Hey, you have double sided formula sheet! Do the problems in the text. Don't blame the prof, but blame your IQ !!!
Even though the course wasn't easy and he didn't really give us as easy of a time as other sections had, he was still a genuinely good prof. If you needed help or to have a good laugh in class, this is the class for you. But be prepared for weekly quizzes and assignments, which honestly sound worse than they really are
He needs to do show more examples. If you learn statistics by doing statistics, then you teach statistics by doing frickin examples.
He's an average prof. Marking was fair and posting slides do help a lot. Overall, he was okay (not a bad choice, not the best one).
If stats is not your thing, this prof is not for you. He is good at what he does but is not there to teach people who havent even grasped basic high school math, he can teach you if you know the basics! If you're looking for a step by step prof go to M Rochon!
he is very hard to understand. his teaching method sucks because he makes everything so difficult. he is a hard marker and when you ask him questions, he confuses you even more!
one of the worst profs ive had. he makes omis even more difficult n boring than it actually is. he doesn't teach the concepts clearly, he jus expects u to kno them. very mean n unapproachable. do not take this course wit him unless ur very confident with math!
If you want to do well in finance attend the lectures and do your home work. Understand the material and practice!!! Finance is NOT a memory course!! Remember to ask for help if you need it. Also, remember to get old exams and learn the material, (understand the questions asked) if you want to get an A in finance. Great Prof!!!

The course itself is very hard. With Marshall, there was a possibility of writing a surprise quiz at anytime during the 3 hour lecture. This kept students coming to class and reading the textbook- a really good thing! I didnt find his slides very helpful though. Has a great sense of humour.
He's a good teacher. He actually takes effort teaching the material and helps students a lot on his site.
Avoid at all costs, not worth your effort.
He's just bad! Expect you to know everything.. Had him 1st, understood nothing about stats then took it with Michael Rochon!! Who was the BEST!! Alan Marshall on the other hand SUCKS!!
For a first year statistics course, can be quite difficult.
He is mean, and a terrible prof. He is ruthless. SWITCH OUT. He will meessss your GPA u[
Horrible prof gives surprise quizzes AVOID AT ALL COSTS
class was really tough, but he was able to convey some stats topics using baseball examples, which made everything seem much more clear.
Stats is hard, deal with it. But he makes the class interesting and he's willing to help. You need to do your part so that he can help you...it's not high school any more
Don't listen to one-line reviews, those kids just did poorly. He will assign weekly assignments that will take some time, but they will be the only thing to keep you on track. You will thank him in the end, when you don't have to read 16 chapters worth in three days. He's clear and helpful, as long as you don't say stupid things all the time.
hey hes actually not that bad, its the course thats hard. do your readings and your work and your assignments and you will be fine. i got like 90ish average for his pop quizzes/assignments and im not even that good with stats. its not that bad, just work hard, and youll be fine.
This guy is terrible, he just rushes through his slides. I pretty much had to teach myself from the book, i wasted my time going to class every week even tho it was pointless, didn't learn anything from going. Plus he never shows u how to do anything manually, just does everything on excel. Worst prof at york in my opinion.
this is the worst prof ever he does not know how to teach, constantly makes mistakes, wish i hadnt have gotten him, makes stupid jokes in class and expects everyone to know everything
One of the harder teachers, but worth it if you're the type who has to be forced to study- he has random pop quizzes, so you have to attend every class and study. May not be as funny or approachable as the other profs, but he definitely knows what he's talking about
my little stat fairy
He often gets a bad rap, but I'm really not sure why. Do you have to work hard in his course? Absolutely. But this is university. Get used to it! Not only is he hilarious, but he's a fantastic professor. Statistics can be notoriously difficult, but he does a fantastic job of explaining it. He really knows his stuff. Weekly quizzes helped a lot!
LOVE HIM
While his class is ok, i had the unfortunate experience of standing behind Prof. Marshall at a coffee shop. Never in my life have I seen anyone behave so reprehensibly to the workers there. He actually shouted at one of them. reprehensible.
If you want to have fun learning some of the hardest material, this is the prof. The ratings here do not make much sense; he is hilarious. The content is difficult but his humour helps everyone get through the 3 hour lecture. Highly recommended!
Great prof! hard subject but he makes the 3 hour lectures doable and somewhat interesting. As long as you keep up with the readings and assignments and study this class isn't so bad and hes a great prof.
I taught myself all the content but I liked Marshall. He creates a nice classroom atmosphere and responds to emails quickly. I would definitely take a course with him again.
No need for textbook slides are detailed. Strikes a good balance (arguably) between the course theory and the "real world" conversation. Nice enough guy, may not be the most interesting prof @ schulich but certainly one of the better ones.
nice guy, but the class is super boring - reads off his slides!:(
Marshall is hilarious and he is a good lecturer, he can tell when students understand and don't understand concepts and clarifies them some more. The midterm I found to be not too difficult but the final was difficult. As long as you do the readings, assignments and lots of practice questions you'll be good
Great prof. Explained things clearly, answered questions. Responded on his website webct quick enough. In terms of easiness, the course itself was difficult and there was no discrepancy in the marking amongst profs so he was as fair as its going to get. And he cracked jokes here and there to lighten up the class every once in a while
The course is mostly self learning from the textbook but if you do the readings beforehand his lectures somewhat help. He's pretty funny in lectures but he really has a huge ego. Constantly reiterates "you learn statistics by doing statistics" and then gives minimal and untimely feedback. Is rude and doesn't answer questions adequately on moodle.
A prof who only cares about his phd and his experience. I feel he has no interest in students and teaching but should rather be helpful and encouraging. Lacks teaching skills and has inflated ego.
Great prof! Had a good sense of humour and does care about his students. He really knows the material well, although the surprise quizzes aren't students' favourite.
Great prof with a good sense of humor. Although the surprise quizzes and random assignment collections are slightly intimidating, he is an awesome professor and explains things with clarity. It was relatively easy to understand what he was teaching, and I definitely recommend getting into his class.
Marshall is a great professor who does his best to help his students. He does play favourites however to those who participate more frequently and he will slightly increase your mark. I only spoke to him once and never engaged in class so my mark was based entirely on the exams and assignments. Read the textbook and his slides and you'll be fine!
he always made fun of one student who asked question for clarification in class, and likes to make jokes that are not funny at all and EXTREMELY MEAN!!! he might be really good at stats, however, i wont consider him as a good teacher at all....
Absolutely horrible prof. Go through material fast without explanation, post assignment late and give no instructions. Mean in class. Didn't learn a thing from him.
Great professor. He made class material practical by offering his personal stories in finance. His humour made class super entertaining. I would definitely recommend him; I looked forward to every single class. Only con is that his material is sometimes different from the book
Great professor with a fantastic sense of humor. I would highly recommend his class. The only drawback I faced was my lack of understanding of finance and the terms. But if takes a strategy course, I would definitely take it up. One of the best profs I had this semester
He does not explain concepts really well.. mainly talks about personal life stories and makes mean remarks & picks on students who ask for clarification in class. He's not very helpful in terms of helping students grasp course concepts.
Runs through tons of examples without really explaining the underlying concepts. Exam difficulty level is quite hard as well. Not sure if I learnt anything apart from following a sequence of steps to get the solution.
He''s a hilarious guy but the pop quizzes can be intimidating. Stats isn''t an easy course but I recommend you take his class because he explains things clearly and you''ll actually learn something even though the trade off may be a lower mark.
Straight-forward and knows his finance. To the point and has a sense of humor. Take him for 6100 and 5200, he really shines for these subjects and made his own course slides so he knows his stuff. If you have no background in finance, take Marshall.
He's straightforward and to the point. He gives you very clear insight into the material and doesn't waste time in class. Do your readings and do your work and you will be fine
He literally races through the powerpoint slides and actually reads them word by word. He doesn't care about his students at all and forget about getting a good grade in his class because you'd have to really work to get a B. Exams are unreasonably tough.
Avoid at all costs. Clearly knows his subject matter, but should spend the rest of his life behind a desk and not in front of a class educating students. Hard grader and will be the sole reason your question your decision to attend Schulich
Does not put any effort to teach. Avoid his class.
You will be forced to learn a lot during the course. Do not overstress yourself on assignments and concentrate on your exam (will be a tough one within the constraints of topics discussed in class). Finish them and ensure you have correct answers and they are presentable. You can manage without textbook just by following the class slides.
I will not attend any of his lectures again.
Definitely not one of the better professors at the school, and certainly won't make you like stats any more than you already do. There are better professors for this subject, I would avoid him if possible. Nice guy, not a good educator.
Really tough grader, I will never choose this professor again
included questions in quiz that are neither in book nor in slides
An experienced professor. However, I believe he could communicate with the students in class more often and to consider different students' backgrounds (Academically and culturally).
Tough and don't care about academic differences between students.
I don't recommend at all
I loved taking his classes! His class was a lot more challenging than other professors as he integrates stats, operation and finance. Tricky exam questions. For those students who want to learn and up for a challenge, I highly recommend him - his students has shown much higher level of understanding in financial strategy compared to others.
Pretty easy for a finance prof. Goes off on a lot of tangents during class time, exams are fair and very easy if you study using his question bank, good about giving partial marks, accessible outside of class. Very theory heavy, don't see much being usable on the job. Textbooks are good if you're interested, but not necessary for the class.
Tough grader but thorough teacher. Kind, respected, and funny.
He reads PPTs from begging to end, not explaining things in details, cares about himself more than students. As a person he's fine, only a horrible horrible teacher!
Doesn't go over the material but expects people to pass a difficult test. He thinks he is hilarious but isn't and makes class unbearable.
His Teaching was brutal. Never did any examples in class. slide decks were an average of 110 slides for a 3 hr lecture, yet managed to say little. It was hard to follow along. Would just talk about previous experiences, then skip over some slides. Too far of a leap, in my opinion over the prerequisite required to take it. Do Not recommend.
This prof does not care about the students academic performance. His lectures mostly consisted of his personal life stories rather than the actual content. Also, he usually read off the power points with no examples.
I personally really enjoyed his lectures, he's not as boring as the other profs at schu, you just have to be consistent with your work, come to class and try and concentrate on the sums he solves. He often gives hints as to what's coming on the paper.
I'm not sure why Prof. Marshall gets so much flack, I took 2 MBA level finance classes with him and his expectations are extremely clear. Everything you need to know are laid out in his slides and he gives a ton of practice problems which mirror his exams. If you manage to perform poorly in his class its entirely your own fault.
Prof Marshall is extremely passionate about statistics/finance and his lectures are the among the least boring to attend. BUT his teaching is mediocre at best, he uses excel a LOT during lectures and his tests are set pretty hard so his class will usually always have a lower average than other profs. He's experienced but a really tough grader.
He made a lot of mistakes in the midterm exam that can basically kill you. With really hard working and great prep for the exam can't bring any rewards because of those mistakes. I won't take this pro forever, he is the worst
one of the best
The worst.
Get into Hila Cohen's sections. He reads from a powerpoint for the 3h. You need to read the STATSPREP pdfs on your own and do practice questions to succeed; he gives no examples/practice. Attendancesuccess, go to Hila's lectures. Exams are harder than other sections, be ready for a C class average. He's salty about students asking questions.
lectures are mostly one way conversation due to the heavy content. He does a decent job preparing students for midterms and other deliverable, but unfortunately the course concept is all theories and thus very abstract. He could have designed the course to be more practical by going deeper into applications.
One of the worst profs at Schulich. Does not teach the coursework at all. Get ready to write exams on chapters you have not been taught. A lot of unnecessary work for a 1.5 credit course.
This man was the best prof I had this year
Just don't
Alan always came to class ready to teach. He went very in-depth in the material. If you are interested in expanding your scope of the subject, Alan is the prof for you. He provides a clear marking criteria at the beginning of the course and follows through with it. I would definitely recommend him.
I can't remember a single time that I was excited to go to class or a time that when I was in class that I was able to fall along because I was confused out of my mind. Do yourself a favour and teach yourself using the textbook. He is enthusiastic about the material, but he is unable to teach it in a way that will engage or make the students care.
Saw a kid reading the investopedia page in front of me on the topic of the class we were in during the middle of the lecture. I think that's all you need to know about the class. Do yourself a favour and use the textbook until your eyes bleed because that's the only way you're getting a decent mark in his class.
He lacks the ability to understand the perspective of students in that the materials he is teaching are new to them. Instead, he acts as if he is teaching this material to students who have a Ph.D. in the subject. He will unnecessarily make exams difficult and stressful. Hard to study for and not provide any idea of what you can expect on exams.
I had both me and GPA in stitches
He might be the worst professor at Schulich. His lectures are filled with him reading the slides word-for-word and talking non-sensical about himself because he's got a God-complex. He had to bell curve the midterm to almost double the original average because it was so bad. He's a difficult grader. He doesn't like questions. He can't teach.
Singlehandedly ruined this semester for me. Dont come to the lectures, he has no idea how to teach to students. Dont expect any communication from him. Doesnt reply to emails, posts important information in canvas comments so students dont get notified, changes important numbers on the midterm halfway through the midterm itself. Do NOT take him
He clearly lacks communication with other sections. Made the hardest midterm I have ever written. Very boring and dry lectures. You will fall asleep in this class. Avoid him if possible.
His class was tolerable because of his professional experience, passion for teaching, dry sense of humour, and excellent examples. However, there was a complete lack of student engagement during lectures (other than personal quips unrelated to the subject material), he is unapproachable, and his midterm exam was extremely difficult.
Character building is good for your health, take him!
Not exactly the greatest communicator. Tends to go off on random tangents and has way too many slides, making following along kind of impossible. The textbook will be your best friend. Do as many practice questions as you can (not just the recommended ones). Midterm is difficult, but gets curved pretty hard. Take the Connect quizzes seriously.
Ruined my life.
I have nothing good to say about Allan. He does not care about his students at all. He makes the hardest exam among all the sections. He wants to make sure that you fail. He is the worst professor at Schulich. If you take his class, you are a fool. You will learn the lesson in a very expensive way. He jokes about you failing too. He is horrible!!!!
Impossible to follow along in class because he moves way too quickly. It's INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT that you take notes in advance of class and try to do every practice problem in his slides. Tests are super hard and you never have enough time to do every question. Pretty accessible for questions outside of class though.
Marshall's a pretty cool guy. He makes you work for your grade though, so only the kids who really understand the material and spend time practicing outside class will succeed. His jokes are some times awkward but he was hilarious to me! Straightforward exams and quizzes (if you have practiced! he doesn't spoon-feed)
He's an awful communicator, cannot explain any concepts well, makes the material 100x harder than it needs to be, and overall the worst professor I have seen (in terms of teaching) I have ever had. Aside from his horrendous teaching abilities, he seems like pretty nice and a cool guy.
Not as bad as people say. Just gotta actually put in the effort and DO THE HOMEWORK on time or its easy to fall behind
Amazing prof!!!
Honestly he really isn't as horrible as the ratings say he is. Tough evals but fair if you actually double down and study. Its hard to get the 9 with him, but even if you're no good at stats, with legit hard work you can get the 8. His teaching is nothing special, but all in all not too bad either. Okay teacher.
Very thorough and really cares about his students' success.
Amazing prof. You need to put in work - stats is really heavy so dont fall behind and then blame the prof.
Awesome!
Incredible professor cares about student success a lot. The students that say he's a bad teacher, don't put in the work and end up blaming him. Go to class, do the assigned work, ask for help and you will get an A easily. Truly a great professor, don't let the rumors let you think differently!
Was scared to go to his class after reading these reviews but tbh a really good prof. He explains concepts really well and is really helpful, also has some really helpful shortcuts and tricks that can help you on assessments. If you put in the effort and don't fall behind, you are guaranteed a good grade.
Love this prof!! Very thankful to have been in his class
He is the best stats prof out there. Consider yourself lucky if you are in his class.
Alan presents his lecture material in a clear and easy-to-understand way. However, his assignments are not like the lecture material. Lecture material is easy the assignments are far more complex and you end up using outside sources to understand what to do instead of the course material. In-class material is easy but coursework is hard.
Alan Marshall gets a bad rep and I can understand why. Stats and/or finance isn't an easy class. You will have to do the readings and homework to do well in these classes. However, most kids blame him without doing their necessary part as a student. With that being said, he's an average professor, but a tough marker for assessments!
His tests are much harder and different from what he teaches. He also only reads his slide show and barely gives any extra explanation.
I, personally, really liked him in first year. He gave more examples than any other prof and explained really well. Usually, the ones that complain are the ones that don't do the work so be careful about which opinions you take seriously.
Stats is heavy in nature, requiring you to do a lot of independent studying outside of class. If you do the work, you will succeed - if not, you will be complaining about the prof being bad when it is your own fault. Moreover, he takes time to do office hours and even help students one on one if needed. Amazing prof!
What an amazing professor. He is very clear with the criteria and expectations and gives good exam review questions. Super accessible for office hours and cares about students.
Prof. Marshal is very knowledgable. But he also rushes through stats. I have studied stats before but he made me more confused than ever. Whatever he teaches, often does not reflect in the quizzes he makes us solve. Absolutely no feedback, no corrections. Your novice classmates will guide you better than prof.
Professor Alan Marshall is a standout in finance education. His classes are known for real-life stories that make tricky topics easy to grasp. Plus, he's super approachable and always ready to help.
Prof Marshall's MGMT1050 is challenging but worth it. Do the work and he's incredibly helpful - the ones who complain don't put in the effort. unstuckstudy was a great study tool alongside the textbook.
