Pretty easy class if you put the time and effort. He gives a ton of extra credit and the study guides needed to pass his exams. There was a total of 4 exams based off lecture and a midterm/final for lab. He's really nice and understanding. If you fail this class, it's because you didn't try.

Weekly quizzes for lab. Four lecture tests. Final for Lab & Lecture. Midterm for Lab. Lecture weighs more than lab, so make sure not to slack off on studying for tests (which cover 4 chapters at a time). Participating makes tests and quizzes easier. One group project. Mr. Herrera is understanding and helpful. Put in the effort and it will pay off.

Mr. Herrera is super cool. He will help you out if you ask. If you study for the tests then you will do fine. Also make sure to ask him for your actual grade, don't just try to calculate it from blackboard because everything is weighted differently.

Participation is a grade , skips class and you'll miss announcements for extra credit, gives allot of extra credit cause you'll need it trust me ,online quizzes are a must do they don't seem like much but they'll carry you through along with the tests and lab participation

Easy class! Attendance is required he gives 10 participation points for each day of class! You do have to work for your grade. Study and an A can easily be achieved! No textbook required he has PowerPoint slides available. Lab manual is required though.

Reading the book is absolutely necessary for this class if you want to know what the professor is talking about in and if you want to pass the class. He gives you reviews for every test or quiz we take and he gives a lot of extra credit opportunities which is extremely helpful. You have to earn your grade, but if you study hard, passing is easy.

Biology is not my cup of tea! i took this class 4 times already and I just don't get it! Mr. Herrera is the best professor you can take for biology. Theres alot of work just like in any class but he gives you extra credit throught the semester. for lab the quizzes are hard but the lab is fun!. overall If you do your work you will pass!

Easy Class if you do the assignments and attend class. Lots of extra credit!! Labs are easy and work is done in groups he uses Kahoot and the lab exams and lecture exams are really easy if you study the reviews and kahoots!

As long as you attend class and are on the ball you will pass he does give extra credit but just don't slack off.

Mr. Herrera will cover all the information needed to pass exams. Attendance is important because his lectures are prominent in order to pass. His quizzes and tests are arguably complicated but he does give you time to study before hand. Follow rules and procedures. Don't expect to always get out of class early. Respectful, educated, and helpful.

I would recommend Mr Herrera as a professor. However to pass the exams reading is required (at least looking over reviews) if you're not good retainig information from lectures (not his strength). The in class activities help students learn.

Took his class Fall17, cool guy, super chill, labs are easy lets you work in group of 4 he'll set the lab up explain a little and he lets you loose, lab manual is a MUST, don't be afraid to ask for help he will help you. Lectures are fun goes over PP and you play Kahoot! really fun, pay attention in class, study for exams the usual, extra credit!

I loved taking his Bio 2 course! Yes its a lot of work, but it happens when taking a for majors course & a lab and lecture. I don't like science at all but the class is relative easy if you study kahoots and the reviews. There's ALOT of work in the class but it helped my average as I did poorly in the exams. I wouldn't take science again but the professor is fun!

A lot of work for a short summer class. Overall the class is not bad, you have quizzes everyday, exams every week but the last week was stressful but with the extra credit I pass the class.

Professor Martinez's BIO1408 is challenging but rewarding. Lots of quizzes and assignments, but the review sheets and Unstuck AI really help prep for tests. Definitely worth the effort.
