Dr. Richardson's class was hard to follow sometimes but his tests were fair, he offers review sessions but don't rely on those to pass the tests. He will help you if you come to him. I was failing this class and managed to pass in the end with his help. He is very understanding and will give you a chance if you do the same.

Pretty hard to follow most of the time. You have to go to lecture and pay serious attention. Often during lectures he will make mistakes in formulas both chemical and mathematical so keep an eye out for those. The text book is you best resource for learning the material.

He is very hard to follow. Had to rely on homework and the textbook to learn everything

He is much better for 202 than for 201, and the lab 205 doesn't take the full three hours or require full lab reports. If you visit him in his office hours he will bend over backward to help you. I went from a D on a test to a B by visiting him. For 201, you will want to read the book because it connects things together really well.

This professor cannot stay on the same topic for more than two minutes. He jumps all over the place making him difficult to follow. The class is pretty easy in itself but he's bad at teaching if you don't already know what he's talking about

Terrrrrible professor! He has no idea what he's talking about. He is horrible at explaining things, so you better know chemistry before coming into the class. The material itself is not hard as long as you've had previous chemistry experience, but you will not learn anything from him. He's given us wrong formulas and couldn't do 2x5 in class...

I don't imagine myself passing this class without previous information from high school. Although the material is pretty easy, he isn't clear in explanation the materials!!

Richardson's Chemistry 201 course isn't too difficult if you study. The trouble isn't the material it's the fact that you have to study the material before a test and you're fine. I got a B. You get fll sheet of paper for final exam. You get your final exam to wipe previous two midterms if score surpasses midterm scores. Just know it's college.

He is great in clarifying the material, he also does a lot of experiments in class. He is fun, helpful, and interested in what he teaches. Homework is online, but the problem is that you have to study prior exams to have a decent grade.

I would say class is at an alright difficulty for a first term freshman course. Professor is not super enthusiastic, but he does care, and is a fair grader.

Stay away from Richardson's class if you have no previous chemistry expierence! He expects everyone knows everything about the material already. Also he does not do examples, nor does he explain. I had to rely on the book and other sources to learn anything. He's a very nice guy but lacks the ability to teach.

Richardson loves Chemistry, but he just can't teach. He is constantly making vital mistakes on that rolling chalkboard of his. If you haven't taken Chemistry before, rely on other materials to learn the stuff because this guy isn't go to help. On a good note, he is incompetent with scores and grading and I was able to squeak out an A as a result.

Richardson is an awesome professor. He loves Chemistry, and he realises that if you're in 201/202 that your an engineer, so he doesn't try to push more information than you need. He is really funny with all his mannerisms. If you HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, HE WILL BEND OVER BACKWARD TO HELP YOU! Anyone who says that his class was hard did not seek help.

Fair grader, and gives ample prep for exams. Use the Mastering Chemistry and optional problems to brush up on material. The demonstrations were great. He is very unclear, and often moves through the more difficult parts quickly. Take advantage of office hours--he's a nice guy, just unclear.

I haven't taken very much chemistry in high school and planned to learn a lot in this class. I was horribly wrong... If you think you learned a lot from his lectures you will be proven wrong when exams come up. I had a consistent 3.40 gpa in high school and now a freshman. How could god punish me like this?

He really is a nice guy, but he doesn't know how to teach very well. He expects you to already know a lot about chemistry, so if you have no prior knowledge of chemistry then use other materials, and DO NOT miss any lectures. He will change homework assignments occasionally so check the online homework everyday.

He knows his chemistry, he just unfortunately can't teach it. Does cool demos that end up being extra credit questions on exams though, which are relatively easy if you study the slides. For the homework expect to do a lot of self teaching though. Attendance is a must.

Very easy class to pass, puts everything you need to know about the chapter in slides. Easy "A" if you study. In class he hints the exam questions, usually they appear on the midterms.

A great professor he really wants you to do well on the exams he even does an extra study session over the weekend before every exam (all 3 of them). Its tough to find that kind of commitment in a professor. He may not be the best teacher but his demonstrations are great. Come to class and do the homework and you will do just fine.

Extremely boring to listen to but knows his stuff. Visit him during office hours and you won't be disappointed. There are always mistakes in examples and even in the slides but those are just attributed to "Richardson errors"

I took chemistry from this professor a couple of years ago and I must say, if you are having a hard time in this class then I would suggest dropping out. One of the easiest teachers I have ever had. I will admit he can be confusing in his lectures but his tests are so easy and he is really nice and helpful during office hours.

His class is very boring. However, he is quirky and will make class interesting every once in awhile. Pay attention to all the demos done in class as they'll help on the exam extra credit. He wants you to succeed. Tests are identical to study guides so he makes it easy. Just take the time time to do them.

Richardson is a straight forward lecturer. Boring, but informative. His tests are incredibly easy. The homework is much harder than the tests. Do the hw and the worksheets and you should excel. In lecture he hints all the time at multiple choice exam questions. One of the easiest classes Ive ever had.
