He made his honors psych 1 class WAY too hard! My advice: take regular psych 1 sections if you're not a psych major!

Good Guy!! His motto CLass doesn't have to suck! You can't ask for someone better than that! A lecture that I actually stayed awake in!!

stick with non-honors psych 1...it is a lot easier.

His lectures are upbeat, easy to understand, and I never get bored in this class. His tests are actually do-able, and I would definitely recommend him to any student.

Dry sense of humor. Pretty witty guy. Interesting subject. Easy class. Study two or three hours for the tests and make A or B. If you are looking for a gpa boost this class is it.

I love alan strathman. He is the sexiest jewish guy i know. His class is fun; i actually look forward to his lectures. the exams aren't to bad if you study for a while...and oh, how could i forget, i love his ass. (check it out ladies)

this class isn't really a gpa booster unless you think a B is one. exams difficult although short. teacher tried but class was boring and buying the book was a COMPLETE waste of money since you can't return it

This class is interesting AND easy. Strathman is very organized and straightforward. Just go to class and you'll ace the tests.

Great intro to psychology for majors and non-majors. Kept class interesting everyday and tests were easy, but studying is necessary. And he is one sexy Canadian, let me tell you.

I loved having Strathman! VErY interesting class, knowledgable, and fun. Best of all the expectations were very clear. You know all of them the very first class. Basically all notes are given to you and the tests are perfect! Watch those participation pts. I got a B+ because of 1 pt. -one day out!

Strathman was an awesome teacher...i ended up getting an A in his class relatively easily, but like everyone says watch your points cuz you can only miss a total of 20 in the whole class to get an A.

Alan is a fun teacher who cares about his students, his class is fun and he presents the concepts in unique ways.

Although his class is interesting and I enjoyed being in his class, the tests are a little tricky...and he leads you to believe that it will be really easy. Oh and he talks really really fast, so I had to get used to that. HINT: go to class because he does a lot of easy assignments that really make a difference in the end.

Awesome teacher, keeps things interesting and fun. He involves the class in discussion and shows great movies. There aren't many points in this class, so you have to do well from the beginning, but an A or B is not hard to do. Highly recommended.

Really great teacher. I actually enjoyed going to class, because he keeps it really interesting and fun. Make sure you study for every test, because there aren't many points in this class (only 200), so if you don't do well on one test, you pretty much mess up your chances for an A.

I thought his tests were kind of hard, so when I went in to talk to him, he was more than helpful! He gave me good study tips and I ended up getting a good grade on the next one. He is funny and has a lot of good examples.

Dr. Strathman's tests are really difficult and require a lot of studying and reading of the textbook as often there is a lot of info from the text instead of lectures on tests. But his lectures are very interesting and generally entertaining, worth showing up to. I found Dr. Strathman very, very helpful outside of class. Otherwise, Psych was great!

Had him for honors psych. He's amazingly nice, though I've heard he is nicer to his honors students than the regular ones. Conversation was very important in this class. Barely any studying needed. Great course!

Amazing teacher! His enthusiasm for the subject he teaches definately rubs off on you. You should try to take as many of his classes as you can! You need to attend class though, as he has in-class assignments!

Dr. Strathman loves what he does and it shows. Attended lectures because they were enjoyable and I learned a lot out of them. Participate in the experiments- they're easy points towards your grade. (Ask him about his NASCAR shirt, too.)

He has an outline of his lectures that you can buy for like $3 and it helps take notes because you pretty much fill in the blanks. In this outline packet there is a list of questions at then end of each chapter and if you can answer them you will do fine! It makes the class really easy. All of the tests are mult. choice and very straight forward!

He is really funny too!! He makes his lectures fun. he's a real hoot! It was really easy. His tests are multiple choice. His notes are very clear. He puts them up on a slide show and you just copy them down! not hard at all!!

Dr. Strathman is a great professor! This class was largely discussion based, and he is a fantastic facilitator of interesting discussion. I looked forward to going to class and the books were very interesting. Very thought-provoking thanks to Strathman's facilitating.

extremely laid back. the class is monday lecture; wed and friday discussions on the reading. i hardly did the reading but still got an A.

He is interesting and a good teacher... a lot of fun activities! Attendance isn't really mandatory but he has random in class assignments... that's how I got an A- instead of an A because I never went to class... but if you do go to class and listen tests are pretty chill

Awesome professor. Laid back, incredibly organized. He uses a mixture of Power Point, video, and in class activities to teach. Five MC tests no longer than 40 questions. One funny bit: on the day we talked about classical conditioning, he blew an air horn every time he said the number 7 to illustrate his point. Overall, a great class.

His class is actually fun to go to! It's not hard as long as you take notes, all the notes he gives you is good study preparation for the tests. 5 tests and no final, tests no longer than 40 questions. Does a variety of things to make sure we understand the material.

dr. strathman is an awesome professor, so engaging, interesting and a good sense of humor. i took the first human sciences sequence in the honors college (personal identity) and the readings were interesting but he wasnt really hard if you read...im taking the next sequence w/ him next semester! A favorite for sure :)

Great professor! My favorite of my freshman year. He is very knowledgeable and is very excited about what he teaches. The class is very organized but there aren't many points so you have to study.

Great class, great professor

I found him really funny and he played videos, which were really helpful during class and made it go by faster. He plays funny videos sometimes too, once he played a clip from The Office. He makes psych pretty interesting, which can be hard, but you have to study for tests. Reading the textbook helps, but pretty much just go to the study sessions.

Strathman is one of the best professors you'll ever have! You learn so much in this class, it's incredibly easy, and he makes class a lot of fun. He makes everything relatable so that everyone can understand it better, and does in-class mini experiments. 100% take this class for an A; of course you have to study, but you'll enjoy doing it

He makes class interesting. Relates content to everyday life and makes class funny sometimes. Easy and entertaining class if you attend lectures and read the text. Research participation is mandatory.
