The course was very challenging and demanding. Mr. Traverse definitely goes above and beyond, which was greatly appreciated yet very hard to keep up with...especially the discussions. I felt that the discussion requirements were a little overboard and should be taken down a notch or two.

Alan is a great professor. I took him for Macro, and Micro. Classes are very organized and responds promptly to questions.

Mr. Traverse is very knowledgeable on the subject of Economics and is always willing to answer any question. He participates extensively in on-line class discussions and responds to questions or comments quickly. I plan on taking more courses taught by him.

Not an easy class but Prof. Traverse was available and helpful at all times. Good devil's advocate in discussion groups online. Great examples and explanations. I am taking another course with him next semester. Not an easy A, but if you want to actually learn Economics, he can't be beat. With a little common sense and work, a C is a safe bet.

This professor is one of the more involved professors I have had, in person or online. His passion for the information he is teaching comes through loud and clear.

For an online instructor, Mr. Traverse was extremely helpful, a fair grader, and as long as you followed his syllabus and did the work, he made sure you were successful. Even pretty good with humor!

Macroeconomics is not an easy class but with the instructor feedback and his prompt feedback, it helped a lot to make this stuff click in my head. He is tough but fair. When I say this professor is hard, I mean it as a compliment. This class was fascinating and I had little to no interest to start. It has been one of the most rewarding classes I've taken.

This was my second ECON course with Alan. I suggest him for economics because he is quick to answer questions and will explain things in plain English if you are having a problem. Macroeconomics is a tough class, but as you go you start understanding the lingo more and you start paying attention more when you hear the news. It is a very informative class.

I have nearly completed my microeconomics class with Alan Traverse. He is wonderful, motivating teacher! When I register for classes for next semester, I'll decide based on what classes he's teaching to be sure I get in his class.

I was not really looking forward to this class since I struggled with macro, however Mr. Traverse took the time to explain the material and was very active in the discussions. I actually enjoyed this class, and got quite a bit out of it.

Concepts were manageable but the structure of the instructors questions were ambiguous at times making difficult to decipher his ultimate want from the question. If you can't understand the question you can't effectively answer it. Beyond that he was extremely good about responding to everyone's input and the class was full.

I'm in two classes right now, and Alan posts more discussions responses in a week than the other professor has the entire 7 weeks we've been in class. I thought Mr. Travis was a very good instructor, he responded to the majority of the students discussion topics and really explained the answers he was looking for in the drop box assignment some of which were totally over my head. But I did learn alot about economics.

I have one of those personalities that absolutely dreads classes like Economics. My first Econ class was a Macro class and I didn't know it then, but I was lucky to have Mr. Traverse for this class. I had such a great experience with him that I took his Macro class. He is one of the most fair instructors I have encountered and wickedly smart.

There is no doubting his knowledge in the subject of economics. He keeps the class engaged by his natural enthusiasm and presentation on the subject. This course is not for the lazy minded; expect to learn and to be challenged. Arrive early or stay after to ask questions he makes himself available for you.

This was my first class at CC, and I've had an overall good experience. The instructor is great and tries to make the economic concepts relevant to real life situations for a better understaning. I on the other hand have just had issues understanding long-run vs. short run in general. Overall would recommend Alan to other students.

I had a much better understanding of the expectations of the teacher than the first term (ECON 293) but that's nothing against Professor Traverse - just me getting used to the class. Microeconomics is by far a hard course or at least it was for me. But the information once you begin to understand it is actually very interesting. I personally could never be an economist in my everyday life, but go on those who can. Mr. Traverse is extremely helpful when needing help and so long as you do your work accordingly you will be fine.

The professor was good. The only thing that could improve is more interaction with students when they aren't completing an assignment correctly (drop box assignments), keep hounding until they get it right. Otherwise the class was interesting and I learned alot.

I am not an econ. major, but I had to take this class. If you learn better in seat than you better take it on campus, because it is a foreign language. Homework was beneficial, but test questions did not always line up with the correct chapters. This being said, I did learn a lot. As an A student I would be happy with a C.

Professor Traverse is great. I'm a United States Marine and as you know training as paramount. Well Professor Travers is a very understanding and accommodating professor. Prof Traverse has been exceptional throughout this course, his interaction and deliver techniques has taught me a great deal, I have really enjoyed this course.

Class very challenging and online tests ink is very tough especially when you have to go back and forth through chapters.

I don't like being specific lol. With Alan being an interactive instructor (with a good sense of humor might I add), it really helped me feel comfortable when I did need help with a discussion or with a drop box or just with how I felt about the course in general.

HE IS REALLY NICE

This class was important to me because I wanted a better understanding of Econ. Mr. Traverse did very well in explaining the difference in real economics and popular belief. He offered a lot of his own personal insight which I found interesting coming from a subject matter expert. I would encourage him to do that more often.

Macroeconomics is a really challenging course. Although I may feel like I need to take this class in seat. Alan, most definitely tries to help and answer all of my questions. I like the feedback he gives on topics discussed. I wouldwill take his class for Micro.

Alan is a great professor. The class is difficult and has a ton of required reading. But if you are ever confused about any part of the course, he's extremely helpful.

Mr Traverse wants you to understand your topic, he does not just hand you a grade simply for completing assignments, you need to have a general understanding to get through his course. Good class and you will learn, Mr Traverse will help you with any questions or concerns you may have

I knew microeconomics was going to be hard for me only because this was not my area of expertise. Alan gave great feedback and helped me to understand economics . I work full time and go to school full time so if I had this class by itself I may have done a better job. Thanks!

Four papers and four discussion questions (responses about the size of a 1 page paper) which all should need to be written after understanding the subject. If you try winging it you will not do well in this class. He gives good feedback if you did good or if you need some work. Overall teacher really understands what he is teaching and enjoys it.

Not a difficult class if you do the reading and put some effort into the papers. The papers and discussions really tie the reading together and good feedback makes the class more enriching.
