Great class!!! I enjoyed it and learned while studing a fun subject. I had no interest in the class before I only took it because it was the only online class available. It was completely enjoyable.

Interesting, easy to read text book, with great use of online tools, to listen to samples of the music you are reading about. Easy class if you do the work, tests are open book but timed. Does not allow for you to fall behind as you have deadlines every Sunday.

THIS CLASS IS VERY EASY AND HE DOES GRADE ON A CURVE, BUT IF YOU DON'T ATTEND A CONCERT PERFORMANCE HE WILL KNOCK DOWN YOUR GRADE ONE WHOLE LETTER.

Many students thought he was evasive and avoided questions. At first I was guilty of that. But in the end,I learned alot about music and myself as a older student. Thank you Mr. Yankee Even with the learning curve I got an A

best teacher ever i thimk everyone should take him he is a great teacher and i would recomend him to everyone who wants an easy A+

Although I did not have a high level of interest in this class before attending, I enjoyed the class. Mr. Yankee was entertaining, not to mention that he understands most people aren't taking the course out of interest in the subject, but because it is an IGETC requirement. He grades on a curve, 4 exams, one concert attendance, no homework.

Good class, Great professor,seems like a nice guy and is very helpful. Very understanding to thous that don't like music. I took it online summer 2010 and you have to read the book. The quizzes and test are open book but timed (so that makes it harder). You have one performance assignment but it's not that difficult. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CLASS!!

I enjoyed this class overall. Easy open book tests but I would study b4 hand because its a timed test. Super laid back about most due dates. Funny, interesting, and a great guy. Would definitely take another class with him.

Great teacher

Took this class as a six-week online course and loved it! You totally have to read the text and put effort into the 3 discussion posts but it interesting and not hard. You can tell he doesn't have a lot of patience for people that don't follow directions but seemed like a nice guy. I recommend this class!

Very good teacher for online class. You have to read the book and tests come out of the book only. Do not skip any assignments or your grade will drop, and there was no extra credit. I did all the assignments and did well on the tests and got an A.

Online, fast track Appreciation of American Music. Discussion Boards assignments were interesting, but confusing at first. He asked us to attribute scholarly sources for popular music, when the subject was all based on opinion. Tests were easy, as long you read the book and took notes on anything in bold font. Listen to all the music in the book!

He runs on a very bad schedule for online classes. Homework and tests become open on Monday morning and must be completed by Friday at midnight, NO WEEKEND WORK ALLOWED. So if youre going to campus classes full time and working M-F 50 hours a week forget about it. Wish he would have provided this very inconvenient information before hand.

Tests are very difficult, you must read the text and sometimes the questions are not from the book. The questions he asks on tests are on very small details in the book, which makes studying stressful. Other than that, he is a good professor, not too strict on his homework assignment grading.

This Music class was so easy (online) it was almost boring. He was very helpful and positive. He did not make me feel stupid when asking questions. It was an easy A+

great professor, great class if you want to learn about music business, he actually has a background in it.

There's a quiz for each chapter in the book and a discussion for each unit. Allows assignments to be turned in past the due date. There are no video lectures, it's strictly you reading from the text, so if you're not into that you probably shouldn't take his class. Music is in the text and he also posts some videos of songs.

Although I didn't interact with Professor Yankee as much, the course was very enlightening. There are multiple pop quizzes throughout the week, 2-3 at times, along with DB's and HW assignments. Overall, the course requires peer interaction and a lot of participation. He's accessible outside of class & very understanding. I took this during summer.

8 week course, consisted of 26 quizzes (easy as hell), and 5 discussions. Easy A.

Professor is super flexible and offers lots of plenty of extra credit points! Everything was simple and easy which was beyond helpful to me, since I have other classes that I needed to take. Easy A! Relatively easy but hard at the same time. Professor was good but also bad. Harsh grader on discussions but easy grader on quizzes. Multiple choice questions only. Research about it. Better than most professors.

Professor Yankee was very clear and concise about the expectations of the 8 week course. I would sometimes submit my quizzes (due at 11:59) a little bit late and he would still accept them and grade them and I could still get full credit. This course has a few discussion boards and they can be a pain but aren't too bad if you know the topic well.
