easy A
She is the best teacher ever! If you want to take a kinesiology class take it with her. [she teaches stretch, yoga, step, kickboxing, etc]. She is SOOOO much fun. She gets you really hyped up and excited to work out. =)
it's a good class but it focus' more on meditation than yoga. she knows what she's talking about but it's not that intersting for someone that's taken yoga before and has done far more. she also plays the EXACT same cd for the entire 10 weeks. it gets boring fast. but it's a relaxing class if that is what you are looking for and she knows her stuff
Overall this class is based on journal reflections. She gives you a sheet that you fill out, then you write a one page reflection on it and turn in a stack of it at the end of quarter. No final, you just turn in a solo project. Easy midterm, she reviews the meeting before and pretty much gives you the answers, just write it down, easy A!
I found the class ridiculously easy but found her very boring. She seemed very full of herself and conceited. She was pleasant to some people, not to me.
nice professor, she does come off a bit conceited but once you get to know her, she is actually pretty cool. her class was interesting most of the time, but she does tend to repeat herself alot. one midterm, no final, a final project, very easy. Learned alot would take her again!
She was okay but not organized at all. midterm and final project due. You basically teach yourself. She tends to repeat herself. Easy A. I would take her again just to stay out of the other instructors class. She subbed for Daughtry and she was mean. Take Alane!
An incredibly conceited and obtuse person. Someone needs to tell her she is not hot, not attractive and is old. She was beyond boring, repetitive and extremely inarticulate. I couldn't stand her.
Awesome, super useful class and A. Daughtrey is well rounded professor. Didn't get a conceited vibe at all, and i suspect those who do are prolly insecure about themselves... anyway, take the emwave option for this class final project, it's easy and insightful.
A spiritually tuned-in teacher of the mind/body connection. She is a true gift to the KIN dept. And yes, I think she is hot.
A vapid and self-absorbed person who is flighty and tries to appear erudite when she is anything but.
I loved this class, i was kind of nervous at first because she said we were going to go in depth in science, but i loved everything she taught. We did a lot of meditating in class which really helped, the in class writings were a pain, but overall the class was really easy. She pretty much tells you all of questions that are on the midterm. Easy A
Thought this class would be good to learn techniques for stress management I learned nothing. The teacher is unclear about projects and doing the amount of journals is unnecessary. She peddles her own merchandise during class. Has a fly by the seat of her pants attitude. Easy class but frustrating if you prefer organized, detailed instructors
She is amazing, so insightful and connects our emotions and stress to science it was so enlightening and helpful. she was awesome I would encourage anyone who has stress or issues they need to work out TAKE HER she is great.
I like this teacher a lot. I took her for yoga and she is very easy going and doesnt push her students. though she did have us buy her book to do weekly writing assignments, which i found weird because it was yoga... but u can take it as a pass or fail class but it was an easy A so i took it graded :D. over all nice teacher
Uses her own textbook which is required, but I don't feel like the class would have the same effect if she had used something else. Really promotes what you get out of the class rather than the grade. Helps you succeed and is interesting to listen to in class. Relates material to a lot of personal stories.
I took her for kickboxing and loved it! She was full of energy and was really into it. Always in a good mood which was really nice! If you're looking for a workout, this class is it. You'll get really sweaty but it's so worth it and is a great stress reliever. If you show up, and do the easy assignment, you're guaranteed an A.
Overall a teacher that you can learn important messages from. It was a very easy class and she is such an interesting person!
She's a really nice and interesting person. She obviously loves what she does. Our final pretty much was an easy 100%, and we did learn a lot. She wrote our textbook!
From what I remembered, she assigned us 80 pages to read and gave us two days to finish. Unacceptable. When she confused everyone in class about how to turn in the papers and I asked for clarity, she gave me a bad attitude. I got an A in the class and will not take her again due to my experience with her.
Easy A. This class does not require any studying, but you do have to write a lot. This class requires you to write reflection journals which you work on throughout the quarter. As long as you complete the assignments you get full credit. I only used the book she assigned to get the prompts for the journals, it's not necessary to read the book.
this class is more about meditation ,but has yoga stretches. this class is great for someone who wants to reduce stress through reflection and meditation . there are journals and a few assignments due, the one thing I didnt like was that the book that needs to be purchased is written by the her . She isnt too friendly, kinda rude .
I signed up wanting more yoga, but got more meditation instead. It was required to buy her textbook and do reflective assignments. Lots of snoring in her class. I would much rather take a nap than be in here twice a week for 2 hours. Must show up to pass.
She treats it like her stress management course and makes you buy her book to do all these assignments. I signed up for yoga but got the same routine every week. Would definitely not take again as her book is complicated/confusing and I did not really learn much from meditation.
This class is one of the easiest classes I have taken. This was one of the most writing intensive classes I have ever taken. But Dr. Alane insists that you don't write academically, so that's nice. As for Dr. Alane herself, she's great. She really cares about her students, and if you put in the effort her tools will help you bring down your stress.
Dr. Alane seems to be very passionate about what she lectures about. In my opion though, every class she just talked for 50 mins straight and then gave us an assignment (a journal) to do every weekend. Probably wouldn't of showed up to class if atendence wasnt mandatory... definatley could of passes wiithout showing up. Nonetheless, an easy grade.
She is very genuine and has a huge heart. This class requires a lot of writing, but its basically just journals about yourself in a non-academic way. No actual tests because she wants you to succeed. Easy A if you show up to class and do the journals.
She makes you write weekly, but she doesn't mind about grammars. Her textbook is written by her fyi.
Super easy A. Daugherty is very chill and caring. The lectures are pretty boring but attendance is mandatory. One of the easiest class I've had. Main assignments are just repetitive journals, but grammar doesn't matter. No quizzes, or exams. Just one super easy final you do online. Show up and finish the journals to get an A.
Dr. Alane is a very kind and compassionate teacher who really wants you to benefit personally from the class. A lot of homework, but if you simply do it you get full credit. Super easy final options that require very little of you. No studying necessary. I recommend getting the ebook while she does not. All quizzes and tests are open book.
I know she is very passionate about what she teaches but most of the lecture videos she just stumbled around her words and said the same things over and over. A lot of the course work just felt like busy work, or the same things just worded slightly different. Like i said i know she cares a lot but it is just a boring class.
The videos, reading, and assignments were twice as long as was necessary. It just drags on and on and and on. Nice lady, though.
I think the amount of work she gives out is fair when you compare it to going to class for 3 hours a week plus homework. Most of the work is busy work but its not hard at all. Overall a good professor just do the work and youll be fine.
This class is such a drag. It was so boring, and most of the time you can skip the reading and pass the quizzes. She has a video every week explaining the assignments and how she wants them done. I BSed 90% of the writing assignments and still got full credit. It was honestly more work than some of my core classes and it being boring was much worse
Stress management is a straight-forward and simple class. In the lectures she mentions all the techniques/ideas/stories in her book, so many people chose not to go. Her class consists of weekly assignments, usually one-page write ups. For final, do emWave as its super simple and takes 20m each session. Lots of writing but she doesn't grade hard.
Professor is passionate in what she teaches but that doesn't really make the class less boring. Lots of busy work, not hard but it can drag on a lot and ends up being more of a chore than a learning experience. More work at times than other core classes. Midterm and Final are very easy, professor grades leniently. Should be an easy A but boring.
Really nice and intelligent woman; however, she ALWAYS repeating herself and her course structure is loosey goosey. There's an online assignment every week & you could repeat the same thing in different words & receive full credit. Take it if ur looking for an easy GE, but expect boring, busy work that never tells you what "stress" really is.
There was 2 group projects and she was very easy to talk to. Her class is really easy if you put in the effort. Dr. Alane always had cared about the wellbeing of her students.
She's a tough woman but she's also very kind and down to earth. Her homework does require a lot of writing and dedication of time to get deep. Projects were fairly simple. Good professor over all but sometimes it does feel like shes yelling at us rather than talking.
dr. alane is very nice. her class is very easy and therapeutic! although she assigns homework every week and types out the homework in a very confusing way, its all the same things. log, journal, reflection, quiz with unlimited tries. it looks like a lot, but because she allows "flow of consciousness" writing, you can just write whatever you think
Its very easy work. You reflect on the prompt and just start writing. There is no set structure for your assignments. You set a time and start writing in a stream-of-consciousnesses style. People complain that its a lot of work but the longest Ive ever had to work was 4 hours for the entire week. Just do your work when its assigned!
Posts modules every week and gives a week to work on the assignments. Has you watch videos going over the content. Work isn't difficult- she wants you to write from your own point of view as if you were writing in a journal. Good professor overall.
You'll do a lot of reading her book (she covered the same materials in the lecture video most of the time), and you're basically writing self-reflection papers or meditation exercises (each assignment is like between paragraph & a page); though sometimes it feels like a lot of things are due.
Dr. Alane is a real sweetheart. I truly loved her energy while I would watch her video lectures. I found that the way she assigned hw was super helpful. She would assign a module every week and give you a full week to complete it. Some of the modules you could probably finish in one day. Although this class was a pretty easy A, I learned a lot too.
Its easy but a lot of work. If you do the assignments on time and dedicate time to the work each week, youll be fine. Assignments are in the textbook.
Dr. Alane is a very sweet and understanding professor. Prepare to do a lot of writing, but it's just like you're writing in a journal. The quizzes are not hard at all. Everything is either in the videos or in her book.
Really easy class and was a great stress management class. I for sure learned a thing or two to better myself. Solid choice and not too much to read. It could be a lot of writing at times but it's just about ur feelings so nothing too difficult.
I really enjoyed professor Daughertys class. Her lectures were really interesting, there was a lot of meditation and good exercises she provides. The work is really easy. I really recommend her.
A lot of writing!!! While it was an easy class, the work was a bit time consuming. However, I did enjoy the class anyway because of all the self-help tools that I was exposed to that I will continue to utilize in the future. There are around 2-3 assignments along with a quiz due every week and a project due at the end of the semester.
Dr. alane is a very nice professor. I wasnt scared to approach her. It is busy work and she talks a lot which makes classes boring, but its funny because she just really enjoys what she teaches! We had to do journal entries almost everyday and write about what we ate each day & more. Overall easy A! Would take her again!
This was a great class! Professor Daugherty is very caring and understanding, I never found myself nervous to approach her for help. Attendance is very crucial, as we had to take Attendance Quizzes each class. Be prepared to do a lot of writing. It is fairly simple though. If you dedicate the appropriate amount of time to your work, you'll succeed.
One of the best classes Ive taken. Dr Alane is very passionate about this area in kinesiology. She really cares about her students mental health and gives amazing lectures. I would definitely recommend taking her class.
she is really cool!!! a lot of people who I know that have had her owe her a ton of respect and she's just a great professor. It was almost like therapy, and it was super easy. The assignments are easy as well, it's all like journal entries. Super easy to reflect on and to help yourself. just a great class in general.
Dr Alans was such a caring and very nice professor. Her classes were very lecture heavy and a lot of small writing assignments in a week but if your on top of it you will for sure get an A in the class. Participation matters a lot bc most of the writing work were based off of the lectures and what she talked about. But super great class!
Dr. Alane is a great professor. She cares for her students and was a nice professor to have freshman year. The class is not too hard, a couple of small projects throughout the semester and one big project at the end.
I really enjoyed this class, there was a ton of assignments and work for it though but I didn't mind this because the majority were to be completed during class as she lectured. I found all of the assignments somewhat enjoyable to do as well. I really like her teaching style, she really helps you understand the basics of health and wellbeing.
I would like to preface this by saying that I took her online course which was simultaneous with her in-person class. The Zoom was terrible and there were always audio issues. Regardless, the amount of assignments was ridiculous and she was never clear in explaining how she wanted them done.
Nothing is clear, no grading criteria are provided, and she often says one thing and expects another. Every assignment is one full page of writing single-spaced. Some assignments I felt were slightly inappropriate, like writing your own eulogy. Did more work in this class than in any of my stem or mathematics classes.
Class is very interesting and honestly quite easy. A must take class.
Taking this class atm for GE, but I wish I took a diff course. Yes, she's nice, but the workload is extremely repetitive and feels so dull. Each week, there's 2-3 writing pages assigned, essentially the same thing as the previous week. It just feels like a chore, especially when you have other classes to tend to. I wouldn't take this class again.
This class is an easy A for Lifelong Learning GE, if you are able to type off the top of you head and be able to write a lot for the exercises she gives you, your golden, the lectures are just 50 min of her explaining all the homework and everything else. Final is a personal project very easy. W professor
really good option for GE requirement. she knows her stuff and has a big heart. really paper heavy as the class is mostly reflections on yourself and the activities she has you do, but it's nothing too hard. can sometimes seem like busy work but that depends on how serious you take this class and her knowledge.
The professor really care about her students wellbeing and has very interesting lectures. You do have to participate in a lot of the exercise/homework on your own time but they are easy. Overall easy and fun class
Two weekly assignments which were really easy, one was just a paragraph and the other was about a page of writing. Super easy grader. Attendance is a big part of your grade. One final reflection and project which are both easy just time consuming so don't procrastinate.
Lectures were short, but not engaging to me, in a giant lecture hall. Most often, I would do work for other classes during lectures. 3-4 writing / reflection assignments a week, which took longer than my Calc II homework. Meditation is a large aspect of the class. If you are not into holistic health / spiritual awareness, this class isn't for you.
Great professor and pretty easy class. Attendance is mandatory and she gives points for each day so if you miss a lot of class you will have a low grade.
This professor assigned 8 assignments a week. Are you kidding me. This is a stress management class and I take long putting my work into chatgpt. This class takes way too long and it's useless. I hate this class. There are more assignments a week than a three of my major classes combined in five weeks (no cap).
Funny enough, this class causes me more stress rather than helping me manage it. Per the professor's words, you are expected to work on this class DAILY, which is rather insane for a GE. DO NOT take this class unless you want to be even more stressed.
This is a really easy and simple class, but there's just too much work. Attendance is mandatory and it's easy to get distracted or want to leave. Take this class if you need to, but don't take it if you can't attend your classes regularly or if you don't want to have too many assignments.
Passed her class easily & so for no doubts when I took her during the short term course. Quizzes are non cumulative & easier. I recommend for people that want to learn & deal with stress take her. She is easy & not tedious. Youll be OK w/ her. This class is smooth as a butter that it is not hard on essays & projects. TAKE HER!
The class itself is pretty easy but the workload is just way too much for a class that's supposed to be about stress management.
The class itself is okay but the workload is excessive for what this class is. Lectures are super boring too. Honestly if you're planning to take Stress Management, find a different professor.
She is a very sweet and caring professor, she is very lecture heavy and she does attendance randomly which is apart of your grade. There are two projects in her class and one is to be done throughout the semester but is easy to get done if you have time.
Dr. Daugherty was a great professor to take. She was very caring and the work was easy, but there was a lot of it. I'd definitely recommend her.
Although I did well enough to get a good grade, Dr. Daugherty does have any respect for students who are part of Disability Resource Center, especially when it comes to having more time on tests/ quizzes. Because of her reaction to my extension request, I do not recommend her to anyone and she should not be an educator either.
She does not respond to any emails. She drops an unreasonable amount of work per week. She acts as if students only have her class on their schedule. She tries to promote her app through assignments. I had more stress from this class than stress prevented from this class. Do not let the name of the course fool you about how the class works
I could go back in time and save myself the STRESS of taking a DESTRESS class I would. Her lectures are literally just her rambling. Attendance is mandatory. She has such a passive aggressive energy towards a lot of the girls in my class. Also her class is based on HER BOOK, videos ON HER CHANNEL, it's so egocentric. Homework load is insane!
DON'T TAKE HER. I took her for a GE class and she was more stressful than my OCHEM class! She had us write three different papers about the same thing (2 pages each time), a project paper over 12 pages long, 800 word review of her class, she wrote the book for the class, makes you follow her own meditations, wrote the papers you have to review...NO
A stress prevention class, but half the time, I was stressed. 2-3 papers per week, 3 final projects, and for one, she makes you go to her lab 8 times. Your grade drops 2-4% if you miss a class. The only appropriate time to take this class is if you have a laid-back schedule. Makes you read her book and watch her YouTube videos.
Easy A if you do the work but expect lots of tedious, nonsensical assignments. If anything the class felt more like it was to boost her ego. Take if you absolutely need an asynch class, but be prepared for the workload. Otherwise for a GE class the effort that is required isn't worth it. Overall I learned nothing and it was a waste of my time.
This class is literally supposed to be managing stress but she just piles on work to induce stress. I guess if you take this class you'll put the lessons to good use lol. Easy A if you need an asynchronous class though. Honestly, it would be an enjoyable class if she cut down on literally all of the busy work.
so yeah, you're graded on attendance, and its not hard material at all... but lecture is really boring, and its easy to zone out
She does not respect students who are part of DRC, especially for an extension request on tests and quizzes. Do no recommend
Wanna feel stressed? Are you bored? Wanna fund her dreams of being a NYtimes bestseller? Take this class. She thinks giving busy work is helping us with our stress. Course revolves around a book that she published. Probably a money laundering scheme. Abt 600-1500 words, 4 videos, a quiz, some mediations,1-3 chapters of reading every week,
This was a class about stress prevention. However, everything she assigns in this class just adds on more and more stress to my school life. There are so many unnecessary readings and assignments and when you already have a lot of work to do, it gets so stressful. The assignments are pretty easy, but just so tedious for an asychronous.
The professor is very sweet and kind; however, she assigns SO MUCH! Get ready to read and get ready to write. Assignments are very repetitive and tedious. Also, you have 3 semester-long projects that you have to work on continuously, on top of the weekly readings, writing assignments, and quizzes. All 3 are due with a final reflection at the end...
She gives a couple of assignments, the class is so much better in person. Mediation in the start and end of class I didn't mind it online this time. I think that if you do your assignments on time, because she gives an entire week to do them. You can do very well in the class. Easy A. Very kind professor, cares about her students, not intimidating.
