mrs tynes is a very intelligent woman. i learned a lot from her class. the lectures can get lengthy but labs are straight forward. gives more than enough extra credit. the tests are long but if you understand whats going on in class you will get a good grade.
Prof Tynes actually cares about and respects her students. She makes you learn and she enjoys the subject.
Tynes is an awsome teacher. As long as you do you work you will get a good grade. As long as you do the extra credit you will pass!!!
Wonderful lady, great teacher and very fair. I took 2 classes from her and would take more if they were offered!
Took her class online. Fairly easy, you just have to keep up. Tests are easy if you do the study guides, assignments are simple/quick. She is very willing to work with students and is very helpful. A little picky about how she likes things done, but otherwise very nice and flexible.
She might have been helpful in the past but this semester it has been crazy. She didn't help as much, grades took 3-4 weeks to get back to you, material was rush so if you can't keep up in a fast pace class, then she is not the one. I pass but no one in the class knew where they stood until final grades appear. May be she had a bad semester. But ju
Awesome
I really liked her. She can be a bit delayed on some announcements or posting grades, but I really liked her labs and her class. For a hard class like this, she makes it manageable and tolerable. I liked how the class involves more things for points than solely your avg. test score. You also have a good idea what to study.
I am a memeber of Alanna's HSO program, she is our director and she is awesome! She is stylish, funny, very smart and knows how to multi-task like we know how to breath! She runs the Bio dept., HSO, and has a big loving family. You cannot help but admire her.
Professor tynes was awesome! I got an A on her class wich I took Online. If you just take the time to read over the notes and study for exams and lab practicals, you should get an easy A!
I took Ms Tynes for for nutrition during the summer. The work load was quite heavy for such a short amount of time. If you use her notes and study guide you should do well in her class. Just as a side note she doesn't always reply to emails.
she is the greatest nutrition teacher ever
I was in her Nutrition class. It was like super-easy. Sometimes we had take-home tests. She's a cool lady, and the boys just love her. She talks about her family a lot, her career, and how she decided to do what she does for a living. She's very opinionated, and will let you have your say. However, be ready for a rebuttal. I pretty much agreed with
Professor Tynes is extremely hard but you will learn a lot from her. Be prepared to study every day. She will give you extra credit to help with grades. Sometimes she puts things on lab practicals that are not on the review sheet. Ask what she wants, during labs, and she will explain what she expects you to know. Sometimes grades are a little late.
I took her nutrition class online. It was very informative and her class wasnt very hard. As long as you do your work you should make an A or a B. I made an A. Her tests are long but you get to use your books and she gives you test reviews. DO THE REVIEW! Its pretty much the test.
She is a great and a difficult teacher, but she gives extra credit. She's late giving assignments back, but is willing to go an extra mile for anyone. Her labs are unorganized, but focus what she says is class and stay after class to ensure you have all the information for the lab practical because not all of her notes will be on the test.
Professor Tynes is an AWESOME teacher! SHE IS NOT HARD. She just makes sure you know AND understand the material. She is HIGHLY knowledgeable in the field of Anatomy & Physiology. If you appreciate her teaching skills AND knowledge you will come out of this class knowing what you need to know to advance in your career! I made a 100% in her class.
Great Teacher. Works with you if you have problems. Offers extra resources. Not the easiest instructor. What you see is what you get. Awesome lady. Very highly recommend. Be prepared to work.
I took online anat and physio class. Takes over a week to get email reply. Labs dont align with text material studied at same time. Had us plan on being at a Sat. lab during Hurricane IKE even when entire city was closing down. Lab didn't happen, but thought lab prep more important than prep family for the hurricane. Will not take her classes again
Prof. Tynes is very understanding. She rescheduled exams when we told her we weren't ready (bc of hurr Ike). I didn't do very well on exams but bc of all the extra credit, I will make an A. She expects you to work for your grade, so show up expecting to do "busy work" when you go home.
Very good Prof. Has a genuine interest in both the class and students. She is very down to earth and makes the lesson interesting. The assignements were not too difficult, but took a little time. I would recommend her to anyone.
I took biology 1408 on-line and I made an "B". I'm a full time student working 2 jobs so I would say that she is not hard at all. Extra credit and the discussions were easy and very helpful.
Great teacher! Very understanding, helpful and nice. The online/hybrid class was very organized. Study the material! Her tests are fair, but you really need to know whats in the book. Great teacher, best one I've had!
HORRIBLE! Very rude and abrupt. Made an easy nutrition class absolutely ridiculous. I mad an A, but not because she was in any way helpful. Steer clear of this teacher, find one who is compassionate and understanding. This woman has the syllabus from Hades. She is opinionated, and you just better agree if you want to succeed.
Class was very informative. Lectures are crystal clear. Hard to get teacher to respond to email. Tests are ova rated. Exam consist of 175 questions. Other exams are at least 95+ questions. I took online/hybrid, I did pass course and plan to ttranfer credit. I guess it was worthwhile compared to others.
Took online class. Test overated 95+. Finals 175 questions. Exam Review Notes not consistant with exam questions. Overall class suck.
She is absoluty great! I have taken her twice on line for two different biology classes! I love her she is simply easy and great. You will need your book.
She is unorganized, does notp post her work in a timely manner. You wait and wait for the study material to show up, and when you ask, she gets nasty. You are left hanging out there wondering what your grades are because she gets so far behind in grading. No compassion and she punishes you if you ask questions. Your grade will suffer if you ask!
If all you want is an A and don't care about learning anything, she is the prof for you. She is disorganized, has absolutely no respect for student's time, is constantly late, but does give two take home exams. Waste of time, and I will have to reteach myself most of what was covered in this class for nursing school.
I took her nutrition class online. DO THE STUDY GUIDES! They help tremendously. Overall easy class if you do the work! Can't just breeze by which is a good thing people!
I took this class online, You have to read the chapters in order to answer the reviews. I really liked because you don't have to go to class, and you could take the test at home or anywhere. My grade was a B
I took Biology 1408 online. The class was easy and structured. You have to read the chapers and do the study guides and you should do okay. She gives extra credit to help out with your grade. Good professor!
This class was way too indepth for a nonmajor's class. Irrelevant information in the class notes. Study guide barely helpful; only about 50% of info tested and takes at least 2-3 hours to complete. Tests are too long and not enough time. ex: 98 questions:2 hours. Not enough time to recheck answers. A in class. Class was EXTREMELY tedious overall.
Abrupt. Did not respond to 3 emails and no return phone call. Did not have assignments or exams graded in a timely manner - "w" day came with only 3 grades out of 4 assignments and 2 exams. Might have had an A-but never saw my other scores-won't risk my GPA for unknown. Did not get my moneys worth.
Completely disorganized. Will have to reteach myself everything again. Easy but really not recommended especially for those working towards the medical field. Definitely would not recommend! Do not take her
If you take her traditional class it is a waste of time & money. She does not teach the class she reads the book. Absolutley no help with labs just do it on your own. Might as well take the online class because you will be teaching yourself anyway. Most of class dropped and the rest is failing unless they had API previously.
Taking online. Not HARD, but def not easy. She is completely disorganized. If you are a good student and can teach yourself, take her. She is not much help, but the convenience of being online is worth it.
Taking online. Class is convenient but completely disorganized. Hopefully she'll get it together for next semester. Not completely unmanageable but you need organizational skills of your own to make it in this class.
Not helpful, doesnt respond to emails, nor does she post grades in a timely manner. She made a comment saying that if u are a single parent, working and trying to have a social life that you would need to drop her class b/c u wouldnt make it! I've had to teach myself. NOT RECOMMENDED, unless u have taken the intro A&P course.
Find another instructor!!! Cannot teach the subject, never responds to emails, and does not post grades in a timely manner. Completely disorganized! Her tests are not easy (which is expected in A&P) PLUS they are worded so oddly that they are impossible to understand, so much so that she even gets them wrong and has to fix her key.
Can you teach yourself? Then this prof is perfect. She can't teach to save her life. If you go to her lectures, you waste time just listening to her read the book to you. Doesn't give you lab time. Doesn't even have answer key to lab book. Expects you to devote 16 hrs/wk and give up your family. Reviews don't match test at all. Useless!
Considering your responsible for 11 major exams in 16 weeks in this class I find it hard to believe she doesn't have lesson plans, she doesn't teach lab, answer emails or post required notes on time. Tests are from test bank. She wants 100% effort yet she gives minimum effort. Find a Professor that cares about the students success.
Prof is useless. I took online and managed an A because I scheduled myself properly. Tests are from test bank and her reviews do not help a lot. Must know material well to do well on tests. If you expect to be TAUGHT, do not take her.
Took this class online over winter break. Pretty intense class (especially over only 4 weeks), but definitely doable. It's a college class, so expect to do some work, but she's definitely organized and knows her stuff. Take this class over winter to get it out of the way!
Tynes is a nice person, but extremely disorganized. I was part of the pilot program of the online A&P classes. In both classes she was late to post notes, and I am still waiting on labs to be graded that were taken in February. I don't feel that I really learned the material. Just beware.
Hard class b/c you have to teach yourself. Prof is lazy & unfair. Doesn't like helping students. You learn nothing from labs. If you need to take this class for nursing, doctor, PA, etc, don't take her. Tests are "tricky". Run as fast as you can!
Didn't think I learned anything without having to teach myself. Her teaching is not clear; contradicts info found on internet; hard to keep tract of grades b/c she posts so late. Test not from test bank. This years class avg was about 60s for lecture exams, 50s for lab pracs. you have to wonder why! Not for a medical major.
Took her nutrition class online, and was dissappointed. Her tests are not anything like the notes and there is no review. The quiz is also nothing like a review and both quizzes and test are a minimum of 65 questions each.
I do not recommend this teacher. She waits until the last minute to grade your work, she is unfair, and it is obvious she does not put much time into her online classes.
I took her Nutrition online class, the notes and reviews are there, but the tests are nothing like either one. In the beginning she is helpful if you have any questions. But is very inconsiderate if you're having a problem with an assignment. I wouldn't take any of her other classes. Her grading is pretty critical as well.
Took online mini-mester. VERY clear in what is expected. Reviews sometimes involved material not even covered or in the book. Labs are fun and easy, however didn't prepare me well for the lab assessments. Very late in grading the work that's not automatically graded. Never got back to any emails I sent either. All in all, I would recommend.
Professor Tynes was a good instructor and generally seemed to have good intentions on assisting during the class. Many time her exams were based on the older textbook and therefore some things on the exams were not what was studied. She usually had to give credit because we had not studied the material yet. I would take her class again.
She is a great! she loves her job and is ALWAYS willing to help. All you have to do is ask for help. Easy as that. She will do all she can to help you succeed in her class. If you want to learn, take her.
I took her Nutrition class in summer II online. We had 5 exams, 5 quizez, 2 homework assignments, 5 Discussions. You do have to read your chapters if you want to do well on her exams. There is no review. It is possible to get an A, but you do have to work hard for it.I enjoyed her class & learned alot from the chapters! I would recommend her!
Took online mini mester and it wasn't horrible. She gives really great notes to study and if you can teach yourself based on the notes you'll do fine on exams. Overall, good quality and not that much work considering it was a mini mester.
Very helpful. Makes you earn your grade but we are here to learn afterall. Study study study and you will get your A.
Not an easy class, but no surprises. You are told what is expected. Tests were difficult but overall a good class.
Incredible online instructor who truly shows she cares and is there when needed most. I have learned allot in this very demanding course. It was her energetic and positive personality that helped me stay focused and excited to learn! I was an online student but didn't feel like it. Love her! :)
AMAZING teacher!! I have already signed up for her A&P2 class. She actually cares about her students. she takes a little bit to grade the papers but her positives out way this ONE negative! Loved this teacher!
Loved this class. I was nervous going in to Anatomy, but she laid it out well. I ended the semester with an 86, and that was with missing a week with the flu and a major job change that took a lot of my time. Highly recommended professor. Complement her hair, because it's pretty amazing.
This is an extremely difficult class. I actually attempted to take this once in my earlier years and dropped it. Professor Tynes is definitely an GREAT professor and TEACHER. She has everything laid out and is very organized. I definitely had to earn my A, but it wasn't difficult with her guidance. Must have at least a 3.0 to take it online!
This class is hard, no matter what professor teaches it. You cannot expect to make an A and not study a lot. Do not attempt to study the night before. That being said, Mrs Tynes is very clear about what you need to focus on. Her instruction is great! interesting. and she gives enough extra material to help you learn. One of my fav professors
This is a very hard class no doubt. professor tynes is one of the best professors i have had and makes the material easier to understand and interesting. she gives you as much opportunity to earn grade points as possible, and is very fair in her grading. i would recommend her to anyone!
Great teacher! Labs were difficult. Responds to emails very quickly.
Professor Tynes is incredible She is very straight forward with grading and gives excellent notes for ALL exams/labs. If you study well, attend class and put forth a good effort, you will be rewarded with an A. I HIGHLY recommend putting as much studying as possible into the lab practicals!Take her for any available classes! You will not regret it!
Took this teacher online, she is the coolest her hair is amazing. I had some problems with a test and she managed to help me out. Very clear on what she is expecting from her students. If you log in regularly do the review, and assignments you will make an A. A&P is not an easy class but professor Tynes makes it easy!!!
This online class is not easy. It is a ton of work. It is most definitely doable though. Professor is extremely organized and her online class is very structured. I would recommend her to anyone willing to put in work for an online class.
ABSOLUTELY love Mrs. Tynes! She is amazing! She loves what she teaches and wants everyone to do well. offers extra credit. Gives EVERY opportunity to make an A. This class does require a lot of studying but what science class doesn't. I was sad to see the semester end just because she was such a great person to be around! Very positive and silly.
Great class! You will use the textbook a lot. There is a lot of reading but the quizzes and test come straight from the text book. Tests are timed at 2 hours, but gives you plenty of time to look up answers. If you are willing to put in the work you will make an A! Great class!
Professor provides course notes that help supplement the assigned chapters, but you can't rely on just the course notes. There are A LOT of assignments, but it is a 4-wk mini, so that can be expected. Quizzes and tests are straight-forward. Labs can be watched on youtube. Hardest aspect of the class is the time-consuming work.
This was not a hard class just a TON of work. I took the mini semester class and I'm so glad its over.
She's a cool prof and great for anyone going into the nursing field. she is very knowledgable about medical stuff and gives little EMT experience that is neat. Her test are super hard but her grading makes it impossible to fail her class it is hard not to get at least a b in her class but with extra credit and lots of reading a A is feasible.
I took the winter mini-mester. It is a lot of work, as expected, but not an unreasonable amount. Extra credit is offered which I recommend taking advantage of since the tests can be pretty challenging. The labs were super easy and you can research them online for more info. I received an A and would recommend this professor for sure!
The class is easy just do your part by studying the material she give and you do find made a B only because I messed up on a couple test. I would take her again.
The online May Mini Mester for BIOL 1408 was incredibly difficult with Tynnes. Every day required quizzes (over 50 questions) and frequent exams (100 questions) as well as 4 labs that were confusing to find. You're given an incredibly short amount of time to succeed at very long, challenging assignments. Use this course if you have serious time!
It is a nonstop 4 week summer session. There are 6 unit tests w 100 questions, 4 lab exams, a quiz for each chapter w 50 questions each, and a discussion post for each unit. Its doable it was just hard for me to keep up since i was trying to work and take other classes. offers extra credit. commit yourself 100% to the class & you'll b fine
Book not necessary, test based off notes. WOULD DEFINITELY TAKE AGAIN!! If you get the chance take her!
She not helpful at all. This was a bad experience.
Pretty bad at getting lab grades back in a timely manner, in my opinion the lectures in class don't help at all with the tests... Tests are online, 100 questions, easy to find most the answers online. Some liked her, I personally wouldn't take her again.
I took her because she came highly recommended by a friend. Now I see why! I learned NOTHING!!! this professor.. um NO! one word-horrible! I am a soon to be nursing student who knows absolutely nothing after taking this class all I've learned is how to raise chickens and something about motorcycles with her boyfriend. I was more than disappointed
Her "lectures" aren't helpful. I got an A, but I didn't learn anything! She misses class and I learned more about her personal life than AP. Test are online most of he answer are online. 2 labs online. 2 labs with cheat sheets which she didn't even grade btw. Easy class with minimal effort, but don't cry when you don't know anything about the body.
Everyone here is complaining about Professor Tynes about how easy she is. I admit she is a easy professor but you yourself have to put effort in the class by reading the chapters assigned. She's an Amazing professor who gave good feedbacks.
I took Professor Tynes 8 week course for BIOL1408 and I must say she is amazing! Her grading criteria is straight forward and she gives you extra time at the end of the course to complete missed assignments! There's no way you can fail this class if you apply yourself. I didn't purchase a book for this class and still managed to make a B!
Professor Alanna Tynes Is a REALLY AWESOME Professor. You have to put effort in her class to pass. She is always there when needed. She gives good amount of extra credit for you to pass. So if you failed this class, I seriously don't even know how you could. This is an Easy A Class! Looking forward for your Nutrition Class this Summer!
Professor tynes class is an easy A class if you focus in her class and participate in contributing online. I recommend her to anyone that has problems in Bio or any science classes she teaches. She WILL help you learn and she will help you pass but you yourself have to put effort to pass the class.
This professor seriously made me rethink my major. If only all the science classes were taught by her science would be an amazing subject. USE the notes provided by her they help a lot!! Study a week before the test and you will pass!
Easy A class! Just focus on your notes. The book in the minister was not even required as much as the notes that followed up. Best way to earn an A is read and study beforehand. Take opportunities in her extra credit! If you fail this class I would think twice about how???
Took her online for my nursing prereq and I 100% recommend her to anyone needing to take that class.
Professor Tynes is great, her classes are thorough but if you study and use the book, it's a piece of cake. You don't have to work yourself to death to pass this class but there is work involved, obviously. Professor Tynes is gorgeous and I have a little theory that hot professors are generally happier, which means the class is more enjoyable.
I learned more about chickens and her boyfriend in Kema (which she skipped class frequently to visit) than Anatomy and Physiology. Apply yourself and you will get an A. Very disappointed with how little she seemed to care about this class. It is up to you if you want to learn anything.
I took A&P II online and I have to say she was a decent professor. Of course, sometimes she would take longer than anticipated to respond to emails, but we have to remember we are not her only students. I felt her tests and assignments were all fair, plus she gave some easily achievable extra credit! :)
Learning is up to you & she doesn't care one way or the other. She does care about her motorcycle riding boyfriend.
Currently taking her course in a 4 week mini semester. I knew going in taking a 4 credit hour course in a mini wouldnt be easy, but its just a bunch of busy work. You are not really learning anything. No interaction from the professor, etc. I should get an A, but didnt learn anything.
Pretty much worthless. "Professor" is an overstatement. I have learned more about riding motorcycles and her out of town boyfriend. Apparently when she is MIA, she is with him instead of teaching.
Although there is A LOT of work required for this class, its manageable. She has a very clear grading scale and syllabus. She does her best to guide you in the right direction for the first unit to be successful in her class and the rest is up to you. Keep up with your work and due dates and you will do fine. Do NOT get behind, you wont recover
Her quizzes are 160 + questions, but her exam questions are about 100 questions? It doesn't make sense. She doesn't grade anything until the end of the term. She is so lazy. I'm taking her right now, and I hate it. She makes you buy the textbook + a $30.00 Fit +program, which are on the exams. You can tell she doesnt put much effort in the class..
I had to drop. I couldn't keep up with the work. Then she makes you pay for this extra credit thing to prepare for quizzes. Beware of heavy work load, It felt like I needed more time to study for tests. Thats what I get for signing up for a 4 week course.
Okay so I took her class assuming it would be easy reading comments based off of reviews from here. Her class is tough! The quizzes are easy but her Tests have nothing related to the practice Quiz!!! Assignments are tough but the discussions are easy. she makes you buy a DA-Plus which you only use 2 times which costs $35.00 waste of money.
6-weeks : 2 homework assignments, 5 exams, 6 discussions, & 5 quizzes. The homework assignments & discussions are easy. Quizzes: 60-200 questions w/ unlimited time. Exams: 50-100 questions w/ 2 hours to complete. If you skim the chapter and take & review the quiz before the exam you'll do fine. She's a very slow grader, grades up on last day.
Such an easy science class! Yes there was a bunch of tests but that's expected... it's a summer class. Most of the time you can find the answers on quizlet for quizzes and tests. The labs were so simple. I thought it was going to be tough... but it was so EASY. If you work a lot I can see it being hard. But just keep up. I never once studied.
Professor Tynes is amazing, I took her online class and in spite of how hard her class was, it was very interesting. My major has nothing to do with BIO but I would take her again if I had to.
With 6 Unit Discussions (Which are easy just don't Bs them), quizzes (unlimited attempts), Lab Practicals & Exams (Most difficult and have to work to pass), it's an intimidating course. BUT!!! She got back with my email very quick, drops the lowest exam grade, and tries to be understanding. DEDICATION is truly needed to pass this course. :D
This fall I took her 8-week online class. It is not for the faint of heart, you will have to work for your grade. 50 question quizzes over every chapter and a 100 question exam every week. 1 discussion post each week, plus extra credit opportunities as well. She has clear cut expectations, so no confusion with what will be required of you.
No matter who you take this class is going to be a lot of work. She really just reads straight off her powerpoint but gives you notes you can print out to study for the tests. quizzes have nothing to do with the test and lab practicals can be rough but she did let us write info on a note card to use during. You definitely have to want to pass.
Prof. Tynes could have added her own lectures to her online classes. She graded all of our assignments very late! When I send her a email she replied as if she was texting in a rush. Very dissapointed! I dont recommend taking online mini-mesters if you cant teach yourself.
Tests very specific on answers for lab exams. Lecture test multiple choice. Instructor is extremely hard to get a hold of took weeks to get responses . Grading on most things is instant but things that she has to grade personally take forever. I had an assignment due the first week that was still not graded by the last week of class.
Class was relatively easy but if you're the type that would like your grades in a relatively timely manner choose someone else. Its finals week and our lab practical from exam 1 still isn't graded!
4 wk mini. 6 discussions, 4 labs, 15 quizzes, & 6 exams. Class is easy enough. Quizzes & exams are long. Most online profs are nonexistent, but I sent an email to prof asking for clarification of contradicting assignment instructions & never got a reply, so not confident about reaching her in a critical situation. Slow to grade, but easy grader.
8 Labs & 4 lab tests are super easy (if labs are done & searched online). 6 (100 quest.) Exams are given & the lowest grade exam is dropped. 6 Discussions are given and you do not have to respond to classmates. Every week assignments are due (2 labs, 2/3 quizzes, 1 unit exam & discus.) Quizlet is a person's best friend for finding test questions.
she's very knowledgeable but if she doesn't know the answer to something she usually won't try to answer the question unless she finds it interesting. lectures are long and contain tones of material. she's pretty laid back but hates phones. all exams are done online, most lab practicals are in class and are hard as hell, study.
Great professor wish I could have taken in person
She gives a lot of extra credit! She explains a lot in her lectures and you can find her notes and power points online and is willing to help you pass as long as you come to class and do you work! i would highly recommend her for biol 2401 and 2402!
The best Professor ever! I learned a lot in this class and will take her again. Professor giving extra credit, making sure you pass this class with knowledge.
Online Course, Exams and Quiz easy, Do work Easy A
Took this class online very easy as along as you do the work before due dates youll pass. Albright the test can be long they are 100 questions & some quizzes can be like 40 questions. Long as you do all your work & not miss any assignments very easy A
Their are 6 exams. 4 Lab quizzes. 15 chapter quizzes & 6 discussions. The class goes by pretty quick and most of the answers can be searched online. She's a pretty lenient grader but enter grades very slow. Overall this is an easy A. Take her.
Easy A. USE YOUR RESOURCES. Don't need textbook or lab manual. 6 exams/ 100 pts drops one , 6 disc-no responses req'd 25 pts, 1 syl quiz/50 pts, 4 lab ezams/100 pts, 14 chap quiz 25 pts, intro bio 50 pts. total 1600 pts. Took online summer 1. Prof doesn't respond so don't depend on it. Do the work, don't fall behind and you will pass.
Very easy A. My only complaint is she does not answer emails in a reasonable amount of time or just doesn't answer it at all.
I took her for a summer online class. I personally am not a fan of the late grading. It's hard to know where you stand when your grades aren't posted in a timely manner. If you can teach yourself, you will be fine. However, I would have preferred to take this in-class and during a regular semester.
This was a n easy A+ for me. A text book is not required. Make sure to do all that she is requiring and you will pass with an A+ if you don't that on you. Also her tests are at least 50-100 questions and she is a late grader.
Love her, best professor. Discussion posts and 2 exams. A few quizzes.
The online course has too much work. Connect chapters have between 100 to 250 questions per chapter, the class has chapter quizzes, 6 exams with 100 questions, and a few lab practicals. One lab practical has a time of 4 hours to complete. I am not one to usually complain, but this is a bit much for an online course. Would not recommend to take.
4hr lab exam and 2 hr exam with 100 questions. I did horrible despite my past grades being good. Im Unsure of what to think of this class...
I really enjoyed this professor. Lots of homework. Lengthy exams and lab practicals but I have a much better understanding of material. As long as you do work, you will pass. I am taking her again next semester. Gives extra credit at the end of semester!
I have mixed feelings about this professor. I am taking her again next semester. Unfortunately the book changed for AP1 this past semester so she had to rewrite all tests and quizzes. A LOT of information. LONG tests and practicals. However do the work and she offers quite a bit of extra credit. Hopefully AP2 with her will be way more smooth.
Took her online for summer. Horrible ,cramp 15 chapters in 5 weeks and too much reading along with discussion questions, labs, quizzes. If you work full time you will struggle. DO NOT TAKE HER
do EC which most are due on wk one. tests are 100 q and hard. lab exams easy if you print them out before and answer them. keep doing quizzes until u make an A because this helps your grade. make sure to post on weekly discussions. no looking up answers during exams cuz she uses lockdown browser unless u use your phone.
This class was challenging, but I did learn a lot! It is not something you can skim through by making just a little effort. You will have to read the text, the provided notes and watch the short videos reinforcing the concepts. However, the professor is very clear in her grading rubric, responds to emails and very organized.
the most condescending, hypocritical, untimely, unprepared professor ever. god awful at responding. if you want a question answered get your classmates contact info.
All her test are online besides a couple of lab exams. The only thing you need is the lab manual. I never used by textbook so it was a waste of money. I would recommend using the money to buy a printer bc she requires you to print out your notes for lectures. Overall, the class was fine and I would take her again. Be ready to teach yourself.
Not an easy class, you have to work for your grade but professor Tynes is ready to help you in any way she can, she has tons of videos and examples to make the subject understandable and is available (outside of class) most of the time when you have a question. lab manual is a must that will help you get an A in your lab exams. taking her again.
Prof. Tynes is amazing. I had her for Nutrition and A&P I and II. She was amazingly informative, receptive and willing to help. If you didn't pass her class, you didn't try. Her classes aren't hard, they're interactive. You get out of it what you put into it. Love her!
Absolutely love Professor Tynes so much Im taking her class again next semester for Bio 2402. She makes sure she is easily accessible for any concerns outside of class and even after class. She is a very fair grader. And she even provides a chance for extra credit. If you cant pass her class its because you werent putting enough effort.
Challenging enough that I felt I learned a lot from the coursework but made it possible to receive the A as long as you follow the syllabus.
LOVED her 8 week online Anatomy 1 course. She provided EXCELLENT materials, notes, videos, and reviews that helped ALOT. I may also mention that I had 5 other classes along with this one. This class takes a LOT of WORK, time and COMMITMENT. Don't get behind! Later units DO reflect on the prior units. USE THE BOOK!!! Reflect on everything else. (:
Online 6 week course. If not already familiar with AP, take 2404 first. Quizzes are unlimited, Lec Exams can be medically wordy, Labs exams and 2 at-home dissections which were FUN! Took as an extra class on top of full-time class load and still managed an A. Gives extra credit! She's available when needed! No final! Login 3-4x wk for attendance!
A&P is not an easy class but professor Tynes makes it fun and interesting to learn. Theres a lot of information to learn but she provides great lectures (pp) and videos and images to help you learn the material. Theres about 2-3 quizzes per unit. I took her online, the quizzes were unlimited attempts. Taking her for a&p2, shes awesome!
Took her for both A&P1 and A&P2. Even though her lectures are long and full of information they are the ones that help you pass the test. A&P is not an easy class but professor Tynes is there for you and will help you with anything she can, she gives a lot of examples and videos to help you understand the topic. Took her online, lab book is a must
Really gives you all the materials you need to study for every test and quiz. Each quiz further helps you understand the content in each test. Great lectures and labs, and her course notes are so easy to follow with the powerpoints she provides. Ive taken her in person and online, and would definitely take her again.
Do your work and put effort into the class and you will make an A! Professor Tynes wants her students to do well. It was refreshing to have such an awesome professor that was cheering you on the entire time. TAKE HER you will not be disappointed.
She's a great person and professor!. took her for both a&p1 and 2 and would recommend anyone take her, you will not regret it. lectures are heavy but its a&p, if you're expecting an easy A/class then you're in the wrong class. lab manual is a must. her powerpoint, videos, pictures, etc are all you need to study/ learn the material and pass the test
WOW, I took A&P2 online with her and she was the sweetet teacher! She truly cares about each of us and wants us to make a good grade. She responds quickly and does whatever she can to help. TAKE HER!! I'm already signed up to take my next class with her!
Know if you choose this professor that this is not going to be a " easy A " you will have to work for your grade. ( Lecture and Lab exams) there are no lecture videos, but she does provide youtube videos of others explaining the concept. Also, there are 2 dissections. You are mainly graded on lecture and lab exams, but she provides you the info.
Be prepared to work for your grade. There are 2 discussions 5 lab exams 6 lecture exams and 6 unit quizzes. The quizzes you get unlimited tries everything else 1 try. The lecture exams are 100 questions long with 2 hour time limit. Lab exams 30 questions 30minutes. Avoid if you aren't prepared to study for 20+ hours a week. Anything can be on test.
Best professor I have ever had for a&p. She responds at anytime of day, makes sure you understand material, and provides a textbook for you (free online). Quizzes are unlimited attempts. There is an extra credit assignment at the end of semester. Have to be willing to study and put in time for this class. Tests are long but manageable. Take her!
Professor Tynes has a great class for BIOL 2401. She was available outside of class for questions and clarification when needed. There was a lot of information it if you stayed on top of it, you did just fine. I highly recommend her for any A&P class and I am registered to take BIOL 2402 with her next semester.
Covid-19 has made a lot of things tough, Professor Tynes works with all of her students as best as she can. Quick responses, very helpful, even offered extra credit twice!! GREAT PROFESSOR, highly recommend, ignore comments about tough class, put in the effort and you will come out with an A. Would definitely take again, highly recommended!! GREAT!
YOU MUST TAKE MRS. TYNES she is so caring and sweet. If you need anything she is always there to get back with you on whatever you need or concerns you have her class is easy and she does offer EXTRA CREDIT if you don't pass this class you either didn't care or didn't try. SHE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR IV EVER HAD HANDS DOWN!! TAKE HER SERIOUSLY!!!!
Prof. Tynes is awesome. I took her online class and it was simple and clear. Just follow the instructions and read the chapters along with everything else that she gives you to set you up for the exams/labs. Show that you care and she will be there for you. Overall well prepared and organized. Replies back quick.
My only concern with her class is she takes time to reply back to questions. Otherwise it is an okay class
Professor Tynes made her class easily laid out for such difficult material. The class isnt easy by any means but she makes it as clear cut as possible for you to work hard and get a good grade. She makes it easy to get in touch with her. Definitely a good teacher for online learning.
LISTEN!!! If you're a procrastinator, look no further I didn't do a thing for this class the whole semester. Every assignment is due at the end of the semester, so if your type of person loves anxiety attacks and nervous breakdowns from waiting for the last minute, look no further. This is the class for you. TEST ARE EASY! Teacher gives no pressure
Online summer course. The text book was provided online. If you read and complete assignments you should pass with an A. She respond quickly to emails. She also gives extra credit (highly suggest that you complete)
Expect to to do a lot of work, class is not easy! but Professor Tynes explains and lays out everything easily. Work ahead, it helps so much. Study extra hard for lab exams!!!! The lecture exams are easy, but loooong. Professor Tynes is awesome!
Professor Tynes is awesome. She is very organized. Her directions are very specific and easy to follow. I took A&P 2401 ONLINE this summer. You will have to read and study, which is normal for any class. She is fair on her deadlines for assignments. She gives reviews for tests. I will be taking her online course for A&P 2402 this fall.
I took this class ONLINE and would definitely take it again. The teacher is caring and gives very clear directions and grading criteria on Day 1. There are ample study materials available and the text book is FREE online. Many YouTube videos and Study Guides help supplement the text book. Extra Credit was offered at the end of class as well!
8W2- 5 modules which includes, 1 lec & 1 lab exam &, 1 quiz (a week & a half). Also record a video dissecting a pig heart & dissect a sheep kidney & post pics. There's extra points for syllabus quiz & lab safety. There's extra credit to just watch the movie "ALIVE 1993" & 16 ques. Lab requires SPELLING & no lockdown browser camera for any test.
Microbiology itself is not an easy class due to lots of information, . Test was 100 question but easy ,lab exam is tough you need to read and study well for that. Lastly she's so organize.
Best professor! You can find all her answers on ----> Quizlet
Took the 8 week class online, make sure you read the textbook which is free to be able to pass the test. Labs were fun got to dissect a sheep brain and cows eyes
Please don't take this professor class. If you have any question she will reply you after 24 hours, and in Lab exams in instructions given under lab exam, it shows 10 questions = 100 points, and when I started the exam it shows 20 questions, and only 30 minutes given for 20 questions. I would recommend that do not take her class.
She had way to many restrictions and gave way to many tests on top of a ton of information to retain.
Her lectures are very clear and easy to understand, and she has a very clear grading criteria. gives enough time to so assignments and take exams and will respond to emails always and within 24 to 48hrs. also particitation is very important in her class.

I love Prof Tynes! The most caring instructor. She knows her stuff! It is content heavy, but hey, that is expected for A&P. Lots of opportunity to succeed. Very organized online class. She stays true to her reviews and exams. Gives you lots of extra credit. She responds quickly to emails and texts. Always positive. I would recommend her!
Prof. Tynes is one of the best at LSCS! You will not regret taking her at all. She gives course notes and exam reviews as well as videos to help you understand her lectures. Very well organized. So kind and caring. If you miss a test date, she lets you make it up until the end of the semester. Lots of Extra Credit! She responds quickly! Awesome!!!
I just took her online class. I LOVE Prof Tynes! I was finally able to understand A&P thanks to her! She has the best course notes and study guides that actually help. Awesome extra credit opportunities! Super flexible with dates. Unlimited attempts on quizzes, easy grader. You will have a thorough understanding of A&P to pass the HESI exam!
Took Professor Tynes for Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2, both 8 weeks. Both are very difficult classes but as long as you put in the time she gives you everything you need to succeed (including the textbook). Wonderful professor, I would 100% take her again.
TAKE HER.Unlimited attempted quizzes,5 lectures/5labs exam w/o webcam. Lecture exam 100 questions each and giving 2hrs to complete.Lab exam is included fill in the blanks, so you do need to study and also 2hrs to complete .There will be dissection of heart and spleen and take pic after but super easy. Reply fast and she offer tons of extra credit .
Prof. Tynes is amazing, her lectures are clear and you can take open note quiz/exams. Do be ready to read! I took her mini semester so work was heavy but still doable. She is available and quick to answer. Exams required Respondus Lockdown Browser, no webcam. She provides you with the material needed. Recommend 10/10.
I took a 6 week summer course. There were 6 units, so one each week. It was a lot of work, but that is expected of summer courses. She has her own version of the textbook as notes, and I read those instead of the textbook (which was free). Each week had a lecture exam (100 questions) and lab exam (30 questions). I would take the course again
I loved Professor Tynes, she is super organized, easy to communicate with, and loves her students. She has so much enthusiasm for the course material, she makes learning fun! I would highly recommend her if you really want to learn A&P!
I took Prof Tynes for BIOL 2401 on campus. A little nervous to take 2401. But I'm glad I did with her! She helps a lot. You can submit everything by the end of the semester with no penalty. Always available, she loves to tell EMT stories. Uses the REMIND app, which I loved, I could text her anytime and she would answer same day.
Professor Tynes is amazing. She's very responsive to messages, encouraging, and thorough in explaining how our work is graded and what to expect in the course. There are also many opportunities for extra credit.
I took Professor Tynes in her 8 week course during the spring semester and she made A&P so easy the links she provides and youtube videos are actually informative. The quizzes are manageable. Just be prepared to study, the Lecture exams are 100 questions but almost all are on the practice quiz and the reviews. Take her for sure!
Professor Tynes is a caring and understanding professor who wants all students to succeed. She provides notes and videos to help learn the material. I would recommend Professor Tynes to any student taking A&P. It's a challenging course, but she makes it a bit easier. This was an 8-week course, and I passed with an A. TAKE HER CLASS!
Veryyyy goood prof I took her 8 week class I have full time job 9-7 and I did really well 1 h a day studying exams are long 100 questions but very easy
Took Prof. Tynes for A&P2 6 week course over the summer. Gives lots of opportunities for extra credit and has extra resources on D2L. Interesting lectures. Amazing professor!
Took this class over the Summer in 6wks and it was very interesting and fun. I learned a lot because the Professor provides MULTIPLE resources to actually comprehend the material and not memorize. Lab portion was fun bc of the 2 projects. You will do great if you spend the time to study the material and look at all the resources provided. Take it!!
Professor was great! I took her 8 week online class. She allows for ample time to read and get the tests, quizzes, and labs done. Nothing too difficult if you plan your days ahead. Lockdown browser is required, but no webcam. I was grateful for this option, due to having a little one running around. Do the work, turn in on time, and you will pass.
