Class is super easy and he makes it so easy for you to get an A in the class. No homework and the tests are very easy. Overall taking this class should be an A.

I took this course as part of an Online MBA and it was very manageable. The course consists of 2 exams which were fairly easy and mandatory homework problems. Keep up with the text (don't save it all to the end), do your practice problems, and you should get an A. This was a very flexible course that was good for my schedule!.

LOVE HIM. He is a KING. Super easy class, just 3 tests (which he prepares you super well for) and an online discussion forum post every week-ish (he added this after we went online due to COVID). Regardless, literally adore this man

Albert Assaf is BOSS. He is hands down THE best teacher at UMASS. Great teacher, always gives good feedback, very fair tests and fair grading. His Zoom sessions are helpful. His greatest challenge is his small kids sabotaging the live Zoom sessions in the background, but it is actually very cute. Strongly recommended!!!

Albert is great! I took his accelerated Econ course towards my MBA during the short winter term. He really wanted everyone to do well and would hold office hours via Zoom all the time. He also did live (recorded lectures), which allowed the course to be super flexible. Although it was a ton of information in 5 weeks, I would highly recommend it!

In addition, he hosts optional Zoom meetings every other week for highlighting important topics and large group discussion.

I have taken Dr. Assaf for two different courses now. He does an amazing job of breaking down complex topics and making them easy to understand. He scheduled nearly weekly 90 min live sessions that he also recorded for those that could not attend. He made these in the evening so we working students could attend. Very fair exams.

Very easy to do well in this class if you keep up with the reading and homework, do the extra problems and watch the lectures. Two take home exams are all of your grade. Prof Assaf also offered weekly office hours and review sessions prior to the exams. Would take again.

This statistics class was fully online so no classroom work was provided, which can make the material seem overwhelming if you are not a math minded person such as myself. Professor Assaf is my favorite professor. His casino class is an easy Isenberg elective. 3 tests and a final exam that he prepares you well for. He almost never uses all the class time and some were even as short as 20 minutes. He really cares about you showing up so attendance is big part of the grade. Overall, a great professor and class.

Professor Assaf takes care to connect with students via email and during online lectures. He makes the subject matter interesting and engaging. The course can be test heavy as the entire grade is split between the mid-term and final take-home exams, but they are very, very relevant to the videos, lectures and in-class sessions; so stay organized!

Dr Assaf was the most participatory and caring of all of the professors in the MBA program and wants you to learn and do well. Was the only one with Zoom lectures to supplement his online content. This was an online-only course, which could have felt very isolating, but Professor Assaf was so communicative throughout the semester. While it may look intimidating to only have a midterm and a final, it works out very well for the material. There is less stress in the week-to-week workload as the problem set is due at the completion of the course. Additionally, he sends lots of optional readings to help you understand the material in the context of real-world current events.

I took Prof. Assaf's stats course (online MBA) and cannot recommend him enough. He was patient, accessible, and easy to understand. He offered Zoom lectures, video clips, Excel demos, slides, homework problems/solutions, a textbook, and graded us on two open-book, untimed exams. Watch his lectures, do the homework, and you will succeed!

Albert always answered emails very quickly and seemed genuinely concerned for students' progress and understanding of the course material. Despite it being an asynchronous course, Albert also offered scheduled Zoom lectures and office hours for students who learn material better in real time or who needed to ask questions.

Highly recommend Professor Assaf. I took grad econ and statistics, but he made both as accessible as possible. Both were asynchronous classes, but he did weekly live zoom sessions which were recorded - super! Homework was mandatory, but not graded and you had the answer key. Both classes only had a midterm and a final, but grading was generous.

This was a challenging class but Prof. Assaf really cares that you get it and puts in the time with online sessions that are optional, where he clearly explains the material and seeks feedback. He responds quickly to emails and discussion posts. I can say that you rarely find a prof who works so hard to make a great class.

Professor Assaf does a great job at utilizing class time. Every class period is used efficiently and at times let out early as well. This class has no homework but requires attendance.
