he's stern but very helpful. The work he gives makes you think.He's an ordinary person, really down to earth. He's a really cool guy. I would recommend him to others.

He is very passionate about the work the students do. He also has a "one of the guys" type of attitude with the class. It makes the subject fun, even with his views, and differing views in the class.

Farr is a good guy. In class he moderates very touchy discussions, but you never know his point of view. Four essays 3-4 pages long and a 6 page final. Pretty clean assignments, but open for your own interpertation. A class worth taking.

Mr. Farr is a cool teacher but he does expect a lot from his students. If you do what he ask of you then you will pass the class. i would recommend anyone to take him.

Mr. Farr is an awesome professor. He is hot, always smiling, and sometimes a little too EZ. If you can not pass his class, go back to high school.Mr. Farr makes you think critically. I loved having him as a professor, I just hope he is more challenging in Comp II. He is always smiling.

I really enjoyed Prof. Farrs class. We discussed some very interesting and taboo subjects. He is a genuinely nice person and is very down to earth. He does grade kind of hard, but if you can follow directions and ask lots of questions you'll do just fine.

Being my first college course I will freely admit to being intimidated, initially. But this teacher was a large help in guiding me as I made my way through Comp I. I actually had all A's untill a certain type of paper I just couldn't grasp, I made a D. He still gave me an A overall and is a GREAT GUY! I RECOMMEND HIM GREATLY!!!

Mr. Farr has an unusual way of teaching his courses; neverthless, he is motivational, knowledgeable on the topic of study presented, and generally clear. Furthermore, it was an honor to be his student during the summer session. This is one unique teacher that has a coolness about him that makes the subject of composition exciting.

He is very clear when he explains things and is extremely articulate and intelligent. I love his style of teaching and grading.

Great class, amazing teacher. Brings in diverse topics for discusiion to motivate your paper. Gives tons of examples, and clearly lays out what he expects. Do the work as he asks and actually try, guarenteed A. Plan to use for Comp II he was so good!

This was the best class I've taken. Mr. Farr makes class very interesting. He grades like a university professor which is good because it teaches you how to become a better writer. I enjoyed his class very much and I wish he was still teaching @ SPC :)

I hate Composition classes. But he made it very nice. Perhaps the most laid back teacher I have ever had... Did not give too many assignments, but they were fairly long (some of them). But if you try you will get an A. Good thing I took him and not someone else... because I really hate English courses.

Dr Farr is an AMZING teacher! After taking him for Comp I, I learned so much about writing and thinking critically. He is patient with his students, and makes class fun. You will never know his true beliefs unless you stay after class and discuss them with him because he says things in class just to start a conversation. I wish he was still at SPC!

I was there the morning Prof. Farr went off and you guys deserved it. 2 weeks and several examples to write a outline and only a few people took time to do it right. FYI it is his class so he wants things done his way. Go back to h.s. to learn how to be real college students. I think he is clear and there to help. This is college!

Great teacher. Real laid back and nice guy. The work can be hard, but there is plenty of time to do it. If you procrastinate your grade will suffer, but very fun class overall.

AMAZING TEACHER! Best teacher I've had at SPC so far. Five essays throught the semester. Says you MUST turn all 5 in to pass. But I only did 4 and got an A! Likes to talk about "contraversial" topics to get the class going and he knows how to egg everyone on in a good way. Interact in class & he'll love you. Very nice guy and he's pretty cute too.

Waist or Waste? Fun class.

A very cool teacher. He is very precise about what he expects. If he has the feeling like there are too many people who don't have a clue, he takes his time to explain. His class is pretty hard, so there is a lot of work involved. If you are looking for an easy A, don't take him. But if you are looking for a challenge, he is your man.

I'm not sure why so many people are bashing him. He is a really nice guy who took all the time in the world with our class. I looked forward to his class and we were always kept on our toes regarding material to discuss. I felt he was very attentative and yes, did not like late work but overall an easy course.

he is a good instructor, if you have questions about how your papers are supposed to look, go to his office and ask. simple. the main purpose of this class is so you learn to defend your point of view and be open to other views. this develops better writing skills. he was very helpful but i had to ask. if you can ask questions then take him.

uhm, prettty much the best proffesor ever. He is awesome and he gets your mind thinking! Just listen to what he wants out of the paper and you'll easily get a good grade. You'll LOVE him. He made comp my favorite class

Mr. Farr was by far the best comp teacher I've ever had. The only thing he asks is that you turn the work in on time and if you can't seem to figure out how to do that, you shouldn't be in college. Ask for help, he gives it. Kept the class exciting.

Professor Farr is by far(lol) one of the best teachers I have come in contact with. His class was entertaining and knowledgable. Unfortunately is was a dose or reality for some and they did not enjoy his class but for me it was enlightening and a testament to my level I only received a B becuase I work fulltime as well. Hes an awesome teacher, brings up a lot of controversial topics to stimulate conversation, so if you're touchy I wouldn't recommend his class. "A"s are easy if you write the paper the way he asks and stay on topic. He's very funny and will help at all if he can. Highly recommended!

No doubt Prof. Farr's class is his own. If you cannot follow directions then you will not pass this class. This is not an easy A and you will have to earn it. Very personable and knows how to get the class involved in all discussions. Excellent professor.

Prof. Farr is very funny, he gives you a second chance to redo the work, but it's up to you if you pass this class. When i went into this class, i did not have a clue on how to write a paper. This class helps if you have to take speech also. I truly learned alot and will never forget Prof.Farr

Professor Farr is a funny teacher, he goes over the formats of writing the papers, tells you what topics he'd like to read, and which he wouldn't see fitting in the assignment. if you're looking for that easy "A" then you better think twice, his work is easy to do but his grading is really harsh! DON'T BUY THE BOOKS!!!!! WE NEVER USED THEM!!

One my favorite teachers at SPC. took him for ENC 1101 and 1102. Very clear with directions and keeps the class interesting with group discussions about random situations that pretain to your next assignment.

He's a nice teacher and he gives great feedback. His directions are clear. You have to show up to his class or you'll be lost.

I highly recommend anyone to take Farr for comp classes, but only IN CLASS. Extremely helpful, especially if you utilize office hours. Assignments are clear. His classes are fun and he uses class debates to lead into the next assignment. He doesnt upgrade the gradebook or use angel so I wouldnt recommend him for online classes.

Took in class, funny and knowledgeable. Do your work and listen to instruction and you can pass. Read the notes he leaves on your papers and do not make the same mistakes over and over and you can get an A. Willing to help, wants you to succeed. Not for students looking for an EASY A

I had very limited interest in this subject prior to taking this class. He makes you think and challenges you to argue in an educated manner. He is a very good teacher and I had alot of fun in his class. This is college so of course it isn't cake work.Must complete tasks and turn everything in on time. He is a man of timeliness. Thought provoking

Mr. Farr is a very good professor. I guest most of the reviews over here are from people who didn't make any effort to pass the class. He helped me a lot with my essays and encouraged me to give my best every time. He is fun and I really enjoyed his class. The only bad thing about him I can say about him is that he is not very organized with grades

I took him last year for English comp. He is strict, but don't let this refrain you from taking his class. He's funny and in-class discussions are very interesting. If you are passionate about English and do not mind challenging his grading rubric, I would go for it. If you are looking to just fulfill a requirement, I would maybe go elsewhere.

Good person, Very strict on grading. Lectures can be short and only time you really can receive help is after class in his office hours.

I found Professor Farr to be a great professor. He gives clear cut expectations. His lectures are interesting, many times using humor as a way to drive home his points. He does require some reading but there are very few test. It was hard to catch up with him on the phone but he was always available at his office.

Professor Farr is the best average professor you will ever meet. His lectures are hilarious and likes to keep the classroom engaged. He assigned about four essays that are related to history, modern era, and something of your choice. The essays are out of 100 points and the final counted more than all of them.

Dr. Farr's teaching style is very effective. He challenges his students to talk and learn about some pretty sensitive issues. He is also very humorous which makes it more interesting.

Dr. Farr is a not the teacher for you if you are just looking for your run of the mill, class 'em and pass 'em assembly line. He expects his students to invest themselves in the material, as well as take his policies seriously. He is more flexible than he lets on IF you are willing to work with him, and his classes will develop you if you let them.

I took Professor Farr for Comp 1 as my first college class and he was a lot of fun!! Be ready to write A LOT but he gives good topics to write on. Class discussion was always entertaining but purposeful. Be ready to talk about many topics, possibly even touchy subjects. Overall, I would recommend him to a friend.

Before I started this class I was a little hesitant since I've heard very few great things about this class. Finishing up now, I loved this class and passed with an A. Yes you have to put some effort into your papers but you will enjoy writing them. His lectures and the discussions in class are very interesting. Totally would take Farr again.

I didn't know the rating system went higher than "4.0," so I'm returning to give him the "5.0" he I should have given him. He deserves way more of these, people!

He makes you work for your grades, but if you come to class and participate in the discussions you will be fine. He is also glad to help you with any paper. His grading criteria are clear and well balanced. If you show respect towards him and his class he will show it to you. I know you are reading these remarks Dr. You Austro-American Student. :)

Dr. Farr is a well seasoned literature professor, expects professionalism & effort. Short readings, provoking topics, uses adult language and good lectures! Be prepared, read, & know skills for a strong paper. 2 lg papers, 1 essay, 1 quiz, 2 disc. No late papers, turn in all your assignments and you WILL pass! This course req your brain folks : )
