Have to agree with the other comments with regards to this professor. Sad isn't it? Very partial to certain students in class, which makes for an uncomfortable, unfair environment.
I too agree. He is an awful teacher. He even cancelled class because he had a hard night skiing. Rescheduled it for a Fri. (Mon. / Wed. class) and said "If you miss class it will be acidemic suicide". WTF Impossible tests, rude attitude, things of ONLY himself.
I think this is one of the best professors. He's willing to help and his lectures arent mono-tone and boring. Whenever I have a question or difficulties, he doesnt hesitate to clarify. Labs are awesome too.
It was the toughest class I have ever taken and it did not have to be. Subject matter is not easy but being the head of the department he prides himself on having a very difficult class. Lab practicals were tough but I did well on them. His tests were super tough as if he was trying to trick you. He is very sarcastic and arrogant.
Excellent teacher. If you can keep up with this class, you can keep up with others (organic chem I & II etc.). I found the students that liked him were the ones that attended extra study groups and spent the time on the information needed to excel. He doesnt screw around with content and doesnt like excuses. I recommend him.
If you can go to EVERY class and keep up with ALL of the notes you will do fine and learn a lot
I liked the way he did things. He was very organized, and if you listened closely to what he said, you were able to do well, because he outlines in the syllabus exactly what you need to learn. A lot of 201 (A & P) is memorization. I recommend taking A & P from him.
Professor Threlfall is the fairest and most caring professor I have ever taken a class from. The subject matter difficult; however, he makes it as easy and interesting as possible. Highly recommend this professor.
What can you say about a professor who teaches the most difficult subject on earth. The course has to be very difficult; we are learning how the human body functions. We will have life in our hands. He makes it as easy as possible without compromising what you MUST know and understand. He is the greatest.
Larry's classes are tough but worthwhile. He's an enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable lecturer. He grades almost exclusively on tests and practicals- no homework, so you MUST study and take detailed notes! People who aren't willing to put time into study won't do well in his classes, but if you're ready to work, I recommend him highly.
Larry is the most enthusiastic teacher I have ever had. He is there for his students in so many ways. He spent his free time putting together a myo chart and videos entailing histology and the skeletal system. He is tough, but he's there to help us succeed. His passion for teaching is clear-no silver platter grades here-it's hard work. Lisa
This is a very tough class, but he gives you everything you need to suceed. His lectures are very well organized and he is wiling to answer any question a student has. You just have to ask. He is very knowledgeable and loves what he teaches. I highly recommend him if you really want to learn everything about A&P.
Knows his stuff
Prof. Threlfall is awesome! Although the class is very tough, you will walk away with critical thinking skills... which is a must for those pursuing nursing. You will get what you put into this class, so pay attention, take notes, and study if you want to make the grade! There are no easy grades in this class!
great professor...
Larry is enthusiastic about A&P and has put a lot of time into creating videos which were very helpful. He wasn't very helpful in lab. You have to track him down & make him explain the material in lab. He does seem to be partial to young, cute, blond women but I don't think it effects anyone's grade. His hand-picked assistant (SI) was a life sa
Inconsistant teaching styles between 201 and 202. Unfair and arrogant.
By the way, lots of reading but nothing complicated. Everything is straight-forward. The teacher is certainly a veteran and only cares about certain students.
Professor Threlfall is the fairest and most helpful professor I have ever had. I have a MSN but am repeating A&P for an NA. Those who are critical of him and state he favors certain students are lying and are just not willing to put in the time in such a difficult course. That is ok, who wants such critical failures in the health care professions.
He is completely straitfoward and repeats constantly what is in your notes. If you study hard, pay attention, ATTEND his class (and other ones)and S.I., you will do phenomenal.
Study and take his class seriously and you will do fine. If you are an A student or young and good looking, that will be a benefit, he seems to cater a little more to those students.
Great teacher- hard class! He is fair, interactive, and invested in student success. Doesn't favor "cute" students, IMO. The class is hard, and you MUST know how to study. I highly recommend him.
Awesome teacher, IMO haven't seen him favor anybody, if you talk to him, he talks to you. Highly recommend his class. Organize your notes and be prepared. Do not take his/this class lightly. Attend SI. Do as he says and you will do great.
He KNOWS this subject! He makes absolutely sure you know what to expect on tests/practicals. Explains everything clearly, takes ALL questions. He won't baby you through class, but he gives you EVERYTHING you need to know to succeed. Explains all topics VERY thoroughly but still makes class FUN to go to. Attend SI and you'll do great.
In a nutshell, I would not recommend taking Threlfall for A&P (take Hernandez instead!). Here's why I didn't like Larry: 1) Yells in class 2)Goes really fast 3)Does not use lab time to teach (it's optional) 4)Unwritten "mandatory" SI sessions on Fridays 5)Expects TAs to teach class in SI sessions rather than him using class/lab time constructively
He runs thru material extremely fast with little time to ask questions. Never used the text book or lab manual. Is arrogant and lazy.SI teaches his class info, sometimes with error.Did not conduct a lab although I paid for one.Self taught.Seems burned out and bored.Good luck to any student who doesn't go in already knowing material.
Although this class is not easy, he does make sure that you know the material. He expects you understand the concepts of Bio 111, which is a prerequisite. Although you will have to work hard for the grade you want, he is always willing to answer questions and make sure you understand.
This class is not easy- but certainly not impossible to Ace. Larry knows the subject extremely well and has a passion for teaching it. His SI is great and I highly recommend attending the SI sessions! He will try to scare you the first day- suggesting bringing a tape recorder to class, buying a bunch of supplemental material and spending mass amoun
Hard, hard, hard, class. But a must for those going into the medical field. He will teach above and beyond the amount needed.
This teacher gives you a lot of information and I do recommend recording his class and take good notes. His SI's are the best. Go to lab for your own sake and plan your own study session. Ask questions during this time. Don't work full time because he isnt kidding, it is a full time job. min. 30 hours a week
He's pretty black and white with his teaching style. He goes fast with the material and expects you to keep up. Thank God for the SI Shana who basically translated what he taught, or I would've done a lot worse!
I am not sure why other people on here have said he is unbias. He is really bias to pretty little blonde girls. He will even flirt in class. If you ask him a question outside of class (in lab) he will just tell you to ask the SI. The SI's teach, he just talks. He is arrogant and a womanizer. If you don't go to SI you are pretty much going to fail.
Larry is a great instructor. Others say that he is not helpful. I disagree. He is one of the most helpful instructors I have had. Also the most knowledgable. Larry is a difficult instructor because he expects you to study to keep up. Wouldn't you want a difficult instructor for students going into the health profession? Or an easy A?
Prof. Threlfall is not such a hard teacher however his tests are written very poorly. What's the point of having students attend lectures, make histology books etc. if the exam questions do not reflect what was taught! I definitely will not be taking his class next semester. Black and white is my preferred teching style. Shades of gray, not so much.
By far one of the best teachers i have ever had. he was helpful, kind, and extremely knowledgeable on the subject. The class is extremely hard, and very time consuming. Definitely use a recorder and attend every class because a lot of info is covered in one class. Study everyday and go to every SI.
He is an extremely helpful and knowledgeable teacher. Yes, his class is very hard and requires a lot of studying and work but it's a prep class for health professions, not some easy A class. Attend every class, every SI, and use a recoder. If you work hard, you will do well. If you would rather slack off, don't take this class.
He is knowledgeable and his lectures were enjoyable to attend. I'd like to say he was more helpful, but he was aloof after lectures. His SI was VERY helpful and worked very hard running sessions and making worksheets. Invest in a recorder, take good notes, attend SI, and study hard, and you will succeed in this course.
Larry is an awful teacher and tries to get by by doing the least amount of teaching as possible. Instead of teaching the class he requires that you watch his DVDs and attend SI on your own personal time. His tests are a joke and 39% of your grade comes from 3 tests you take during the last 2 days of class. Beware!!!!!!!!
only teacher that has a SI wouldn't have made the A if not for that.
This class is hard mainly b/c of the amount of material you are required to know(its alot!).But honestly larry sets you up for success, his syllabus is an extremely accurate outline of what you are going over in class. He posts a comprehensive review for each exam.there is study group on fri GO TO THIS!it will raise you at least 1 letter grade!
Studied 40+ hours a week for this class and still didn't pass. He is knowledgable about his subject but it's a waste of time to go to lab since he doesn't teach it! He sits up front and reads a novel while you watch his poorly made DVDs. I can do that In my living room. His tests are all multiple answers (ex:1,3&4) and are very hard.
I took the course in the summer...I wouldn't recommend that. It is a very demanding course and you'll need to dedicate a lot of time to it. Overall, however, I found Larry's teaching to be clear and enjoyable. Attend SI. It will make a huge difference.
Professor Threlfall was a great teacher. The majority of his students are going into nursing, so his way of teaching was to prepare us for those courses. His exams are really hard and cause you to think, but if you are dedicated to learning and take the time, you can pick through the answers and find the right one.
This is not an easy class, but Larry sets you up for success. If you attend all lectures, study daily, go to SI and work with other students, you will pass! He is brash, but extremely knowledgable - no Powerpoints or notes; he knows it all from memory. He also makes it applicable and interesting. Great class!
Larry is extremely hard, but he knows what he is talking about. If you spend the time and do EXACTLY as he says you will pass with and A. He sets you up for success and waits to see who will work for it.
Threlfall is a great instructor and he knows his stuff! The syllabus that is given to you at the beginning of the semester is really and truly your guide for the entire class. You know exactly when every test/ quiz is and what to expect. Come to every lecture, go to SI and apply yourself and you will do well.
Larry is such a good teacher. He is interesting and funny. The key to getting a good grade is to go to the SI times. If you can't make the SI times the SI facilitator will email the worksheets handed out.
Worst prof I've ever had! Arrogant attitude, doesn't bother to know students names, self-involved. I learned more about his personal life than I ever cared to know. I learned from reading the text and attending SI. I did well in this class despite his poor teaching skills. I took 202 with a different prof and was much happier.
I had him as my A&P instructor. He is hard but I am glad he was so hard. I am in nursing school. I watch other students that had another instructor struggle. I understand all of the information because of how much he focused on it. It is worth understanding it now
Dr. Threlfall is incredibly smart & knows his stuff, but him & his attitude should be teaching grad school not community college. Although he gives material at the beginning to "help", unless you devote your entire life to this class an A is unlikely. The way his tests are written & how he grades sabotages all of your hard work/studying.
Larry makes the lectures fun and he, hands down, knows his material from memory. However, the information he teaches goes WAY above and beyond what you truly need to know to be successful in the healthcare field. His tests are nearly impossible and he is no help during labs. He would be great teaching at the doctorate level, not community college.
If you put the time in, and attend his class, you will do fine. Only tip would be to listen very carefully and if you hear him say something just once, Good chance that i'll be on the test.
Probably the hardest Teacher I've ever had. He does not help if you have questions and if you don't attend the SI class that you don't even get credit for you will fail. Do not take him if you work full time because you will not have the time he requires to study.
Larry is an excellent teacher. He knows his stuff you just have to be committed to doing the work that's required. It's not an entry level class. He answers any questions you have, and he's personable. Did not attend many SI sessions because I did not find them helpful.
Larry is a tough teacher but he really knows his stuff. He incorporates stories about his life, which sometimes can be the bonus question on exams! He has definitely prepared me for other classes. He is helpful, when you ask for the help. Reading some reviews saying he doesn't help is bologna. If you ask, he will explain and guide you.
This is a very hard class, but well worth taking. Professor Threlfall keeps things interesting and is very clear. He will tell you exactly what to do to succeed. Do it! This class prepares you for Microbiology, Pathophysiology and more. Take with an easy class due to the heavy workload. Utilize SI. It helps a ton!
My favorite professor by far. Study your notes and be able to apply the things you learn on his tests. I definitely recommend him.
While very intelligent he is not helpful. The 1st wk is dedicated to scaring students with overwhelming amount of info about what will happen in the semester. He also sells DVDs which must study outside the class he does not lecture on the DVDs however does test on them as well as expects his students to attend SI which doesnt count towards grade
He is a great teacher! Very tough but he knows his stuff. I like to always think of a saying "if it was easy, everyone would be doing it".
He is a great professor and will help you out when you when you need it.
Professor Threlfall made learning the material fun and applicable to the nursing major. His lectures and expectations were clear and he was always willing to answer any questions or explain a concept further. This class was helpful in preparing me for the nursing program at UCCS. You will learn a lot from this class if you are willing to work hard!
Prof. Threlfall "Larry" is the greatest professor I have ever had. His courses require effort but if you are willing to work, he is there for you! I took him for 201 and 202 and went on to get into his Advanced Dissection course. If you want an easy A, keep moving. If you want knowledge and success for your future health care career, take Larry!
Knows his stuff. If you are going into healthcare this is the professor to take. It is not an easy class but do you think a healthcare program is going to be easy. This is the professor for the serious student who wants to learn and wants the best so that they are prepared for their healthcare program.
He provides material, (study guides, worksheets etc.) which can be helpful. He also knows his stuff, maybe a little too well, because his ego gets in the way. It's EXTREMELY difficult to get an A on any of the tests, and he blames the students for not preparing (We spent over 20 hours preparing for each). He is rude, and at times unclear.
By far the best professor I've ever had. These classes are not easy, but students taking this class need to be aware they are entering a career in healthcare and the material should be difficult. Professor Threlfall gives everything one would need to make an A in both courses. He is an amazing lecturer and extremely passionate about what he teaches
The best for the serious student.
Larry's tests are tough, but he provides you with most of what you need to pass. He is always approachable, though he does have a tendency to disappear during lab. He has a great sense of humor and is very personable! I would definitely take a class with him again if he taught anything else!
Larry is an amazing instructor. He is very knowledgeable and explains topics well. His class is very well organized and you are provideEd with everything you need to know. Application and critical thinking is key. It is not enough to memorize information. This is not an easy class but will leave you well prepared!
Not helpful at all when it comes to labs. Very rarely see him during this time. The SI's do not know what they are doing. They gave wrong information constantly. Knows his stuff but seemed preoccupied the whole semester. This was a discouraging semester.
Disorganized. Review sheets for exams and practicals outdated. Exam question on information that was not covered in class. Lack of support, and help in lab from both the professor or the lab assistance. Wrong information is given throughout lab time. No real direction on what to read in the text book.
Has student assistants that give wrong information and outdated worksheets. Professor disappears during lab and does not offer any help. Worst science teacher I have ever taken.
Would not recommend Professor Threlfall at all. Not helpful during lab time, the review sheets don't really help. When you ask a question, the professor makes you feel stupid. Bought the book but he doesn't teach from it. Worst science class I've ever taken.
I took both classes with Threlfall and am now in a nursing program. I have thanked him many times in my head for the difficulty of his courses, because it prepared me tremendously. He is healthcare focused, and this class is only for the serious student. Put in the hard work you'll get an A. Expect an easy ride, choose another profession.
I want to start out by saying this instructor truly believes he is the gatekeeper of the nursing program even though he never dared do the profession himself. He is the worst instructor you can take in PPCC for A&P. He takes pride in failing his A&P students, especially nurses. He is lucky I only had 350 characters. I could write a book. AVOID!!!
Best professor for the serious student
Not for the student who wants an easy grade; however, the best for the student who wants to be prepared for nursing school.
This professor makes it sound like if you don't take him, you won't get into the nursing program. He could care less about making sure you do well. Don't dare ask a question. Worst class ever
I never took a college class where a professor spends so much time talking trash about other professors to sell to the class that he is doing a good job teaching. When in fact he is the worst instructor you could take on the subject. He makes everything in his class complicated to make himself look smarter. And to create a gut check for nurses.
If you want to learn A&P this is the man to take. Really prepares you for a health care program. He isn't easy but he is excellent at explaining difficult topics. I used my A&P notes in pathophysiology as much as I used my pathophysiology notes.
This class is by no means easy. He gives you only the information you need to know and leaves out all the useless bits. His lectures are amazing and engaging, but you definitely have to work to get a good grade. He's knowledgeable about everything he teaches in class and presents you with everything you need to know for the tests in lecture.
Great professor, I would highly recommend if you're wanting to do well in nursing school. He gears his material towards what we need to know to be successful nurses. He explains the material well and only tests on what he teaches instead of random material out of the text book. Use the text as an aid to study not to read from front to back.
Worst professor I've ever taken in my life..... take anyone else but this guy.
If you are looking for an easy class to pass, this isn't it. He is VERY clear about everything you are required to know for the class, and you MUST know it. Lectures are interesting/informative, and he tests primarily off of what he lectures, so you have to go to class. Put in the work and you will be successful in this class!
Not for the lazy student. If you're looking for an easy A, go elsewhere. If you're looking to bust your butt, to know your stuff, and to be prepared for nursing school, take him. He is not there to hold your hand (it's college...) so you really need to be able to think for yourself and spend a lot of time with the material.
If you listen & do the work you will do well in his class. He tells you exactly what you will be tested on, which is a lot of material but no surprise material ever. Never miss class, draw all his notes exactly like he does and redo them at home till you have it memorized, go to lab/open lab to review material and you will get an A.
Threlfall is an AMAZING professor. He definitely knows the material and gives you exactly what you need to pass. It's a very hard class due to all the material but it is doable if you are serious. He teaches towards the nursing program. His labs are more self based and allows you to video record his lectures. He's always been available for ?'s
This class is not an easy class but it is possible to pass with an A! You have to do the work to get the grade you want!
goes on tangents that are completely off topic, graded via exams only, not very accessible outside of class. be prepared to be on your own. awful, will not be taking ever again.
BRUTAL tests. I mean the hardest I've ever taken (and I'm very intelligent, so I don't say this lightly). What I get from this class is worth every bit though. Larry, as he prefers it, demands you know your stuff. For your efforts, you will be far more prepared than your peers who washed out after the first exam. I loved every bit!
Larry is an amazing prof! You have to come to class and be on the Facebook page or you won't do well. A&P are hard classes and he provides a great deal of supplemental information made by previous tutors and it is extremely helpful to prepare for exams and practicals!
This is by far the worst professor I have ever taken. Does not help much during labs. When you ask a question he makes you feel stupid. Acording to him if you don't take his class you don't stand a chance at getting into the nursing program. Wasn't aware he had that much power *enter sarcasm here*. Will not be taking him for 202.
Had 94 going into second midterm but still didn't want to continue course. Super stressful and you always feel behind from day 1. Would not recommend.
Larry is awesome! He is very specific in what he needs you to know, and as such, he expects you to know it. Grades are only from tests, but if you listen to him and do exactly what he says, you'll do well. Nursing students who have taken his A&P classes have a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX, so it's worth the work. BUT GET READY TO WORK YOUR BUTT OFF!
I have over 300 semester hours in 7 different universities... Threlfall is among the 3 top professors ever.... He knows his A&P, and he makes a serious attempt to know his students needs before the class starts. He can deliver a lecture worthy of grad school, and at the same time, tailor the lecture to the needs of each of his students.
He is the best professor that Ive have had so far! He is very organized and knows what he is doing! As a person speaking English as second language, he is easy to undestand and always there for you when you have questions. Just ask him if you dont understand!!! Guys! He is good! He knows what he is doing if you put forth the effort!
Larry is an amazing professor. His lectures are very interesting and he presents the material in a way that makes sense and is understandable. Skipping any classes is not recommended as he covers a lot during lessons. I would take his classes again any time!
Amazing professor! I took anatomy with Tracy lee first and found her to be way, way harder than threlfall. Definitely take him!
He was honestly a very hard professor. If youre not on top of your stuff you will not pass this class. Do not take this class if youre working full time & have a full course load. Just a heads up guys.. this class is very stressful.
A great professor. He is very clear on what you will be tested on. He gives you all the material you need. Even his TAs gives worksheets and reviews. Everything you need to know is laid out. He is a great lecturer. You definitely need to record the lectures, everything he says in lecture is testable.
Great prof. for A&P 2! What I like best is it's impossible to fall asleep during his lectures. He keeps things fast-paced and interesting. Occasionally a bit too fast. Very clear criteria on what is expected to succeed. Must attend every lecture and take good notes, because that is what you will be tested on! I hardly used the textbook at all.
Larry is a phenominal Professor!! I've taken him for 201, 202, and will be taking him 203. His class is hard but not unreasnoable. He tells you exactly what you need to do to get an A. Put in the time and work and you'll do great. He is, by far, my favorite professor to date. He is passionate, knows the subject in and out, and loves what he does.
Be prepared to work diligently. To ace the course, all you have to do, as he says, "is everything he tells you to do." This class is totally manageable (I took 12 credit hours and worked FT), but you must be self-motivated. Record the lectures. The tutors offer great study methods & guides! He teaches the material clearly. Will take him for 203.
He teaches lecutures well, but exam is very complicated. You really need to make efforts to take his class, and you may not get A. Grade is only based on exams. Definetly he is knowledgable in this field. If you only want to learn something not get A. highly recommend him. If you want to have A, wishing you make a right decision
He is by far the worst professor I've ever had. I completely understand needing to do a lot of work outside of class, but he has said twice now that we are expected to study 30-40 hours outside of class. He doesn't teach most of the material but expects you to know absolutely everything on your own. He knows the material well, but doesn't teach it.
1) Worst professor I have ever taken 2) If you do not understand something, he will refer you back to HIS notes (they will not help) 3) His lectures are long, expect to take lots of notes. expect to transcribe those notes AFTER his lecture... expect to spend 30-40 hours studying... JUST for his class. Don't worry about your other classes.
Not my favorite class at all, not because of the material but because of the professor and he's teaching methods.
Absolutely BEST professor. Hated him until I realized he's right: Just do everything he says, and that is know every single word that comes out of his mouth and be ready to be tested on it. It works! Record lectures, transcribe them, and use the handouts he gives. He literally gives you everything you need you just need to study it.
Yeah, There were times I'd open my notes and burst into tears (you'll understand once you're rocking back and fourth, clinging to the muscle chart) Yes, his tests are so brutal, I'd walk out feeling like he just kicked me in the ribs. BUT I'm better for it. I KNOW my stuff. LARRY IS AMAZING and you'll rob yourself if you go with an easier route.
I had to attend every lecture, record the lecture, listen to it again and then retake my notes just to get a B. "Highlights": When asked a question that was on his own exam, he could not answer. If the textbook disagreed with him, it was wrong. Literally told us that we could buy the book and read it, but it was a waste of time.
No attempts to accommodate differing learning styles. Not good at rote memorization? Good luck, he won't help you. His lectures were just audio recordings, so most of it was listening to him point at diagrams and things written on a board that I couldn't see. All useful learning techniques for me were completely independent of what he provided.
I had to retake A&P in the past 3 years to apply to DPT. Prof T. was highly referred so I transferred a week in but made a 68 on 1st lab on tissues. It was no joke! Couldn't rebound w/ an A. I'd say of the 3 prof I've had for A&P, he was the most supportive, engaging, & practical for PT. You must apply critical thinking skills on his tests. Tough!
Hardest teacher I have ever had to work with. His lectures are VERY informative and he knows his stuff. However, grade is made exclusively from testing. If you dont do well on one, an A is no longer achievable. I put 15-20 hours a week into this ONE class. Still barely scraped by. Ridiculous amount of work with little room for mistakes.
Here's the thing: If you're lazy, you're going to fail this class. Larry gives very clear expectations of what you need to know for each test. There is a TON of information covered on each practical and each exam, but you always know exactly what's coming. Just put in the work and you'll be fine.
super kind professor but if you want to pass his class you will need to be putting in at least 3hrs a day, 7 days a week minimum. do not take this with another hard class or you will fail.
He knows his material very well, however, it is very test heavy if you fail one you will have to work for an A. His lectures are very informative, but hard to follow at times. There is a ton of information you have to memorize for the different units. Don't take this class with another hard class.
Willing to help, gives good feedback
This class is hard regardless of who your professor is. If you're on here looking for the EASY professor to take it with you would be better suited changing you major. An easy A&P class does not exist. If you're up for the challenge tho you won't find a better professor. He is knowledgeable and cares about student success.
This professor assignes nothing except exams. You have homework that is optional but not worth any points, but his exams do not cover the same material. He teaches from memory so he forgets to cover important parts of the chapter. The homework is not graded, the professor did not even make it. His lecture exams are designed to trick and fail you.
Was this class difficult? Yes. Did it prepare me to work my butt off like I will have to in nursing school? Yes. Listen to his advice the first day, study the resources on D2L, and expect to put in a lot of time. Larry is knowledgeable, and yes he knows his class is hard, but he does it to set you up for success in a challenging program.
First of all, if you take BIO 202 with him, you should only take it if you took BIO 201 with him as well or you will basically have to relearn the last semester. He does not give any assignments, only tests, so if you're not a great test taker, steer clear. He thinks everyone in his class is going into nursing, so wouldn't take his class if not.
Only grades are off of tests. If you listen to his lectures repeatedly and actually study then you'll do fine. If you ask him to clarify on something, he will. He'll even tell you exactly what he's looking for on the practicals if you just ask. This is definitely one of those classes that you have to put the work in to get a good grade.
He only grades on tests, adds extra unnecessary exams to up the points. Lectures from his head, not the textbook, you have to record everything or you'll fail. Yells at his students like we're 10 years old, not adults. When I asked questions about things he'd say "you should know this already", just rude and condescending and a bad teacher, 0/10.
This professor is a train wreck! Don't bother buying the textbook because he does not teach from the book and some of the things he says contradict the book. Also, don't bother going to lab because all he does is sit on his computer. The exception to this is lab practicals. If you want a lot of extra credit or an A, bribe him with baked goods.
Larry is not approachable and his feedback is not helpful. It was very evident he played favoritism. He doesn't give any other assignments besides the practicals and tests so if you bomb one, GOOD LUCK! He does give some bonus points for your histology books and your binder. He is funny but doesn't excuse what a difficult professor he is.
Larry does not spoon-feed you; I cried a lot taking this class. However, you would be doing yourself an injustice if you didn't take him because he is hard, but he does prepare you for even harder classes. After him, I feel like any class. I learned how to study, manage, and retain material faster. It's hard, but worth it. TAKE HIM
I have now had Larry for two semesters and he is great! He is definitely hard and as you can see I was not an A+ student, but he gives many opportunities to learn the material ahead of time as he gives a clear outline of the whole semester. He is a very hard teacher so be ready to do LOTS of outside study. Just do as he says and study HARD!
Larry is the best professor I have ever had. This is a very hard class, you will need to spend many hours studying to succeed. Follow the alpha doc and use your resources in lab (attend two a week when possible, and ASK QUESTIONS). This content is the foundation to health science, if you think it should be easier consider a different career path.
You'll learn how to study pretty fast, or you'll fail trying but dear god ask for his help when needed! Also don't memorize, UNDERSTAND! He says that from day 1 and I struggled until I took the time to learn. He is honestly the best professor I've ever had!
Larry is an amazing professor! The class itself is a tough one! The only way to pass is to listen to him word for word from day one! Don't make the mistake of thinking you can do your own thing. If you fail one test, the entire semester is like playing catch up. Larry is very understanding though, and if you need any help be sure to ask him!!
You must dedicate your life to this course. if you can, then take it for an A-B. Otherwise, you will fail. He is a GREAT lecturer, but only a few grades. You've been warned.
This course is challenging, but Professor Threlfall is fair and understanding. Attend every lecture, take diligent notes, and utilize resources like unstuck ai to supplement your studying. With hard work, you can succeed in this class.
A&P is a difficult class in general with so much to memorize and understand. If you take him for 201, you will have to take him for 202 to stay on track. He only grades on tests, so if you mess up one, you really have to work hard on the next one to get that grade up. It's tough when you are not a great tester. I wish there was more hands on stuff

Larry is a great professor! He understands the material and knows what he is talking about. He only grades on exams and practicals. Anatomy is hard so no matter what YOU have to put in the effort and time to pass the class. His
SO be ready to dedicate this class for the semester or else you wont pass. Get ready to spend hours studying, I be crying, I withdrew because I felt I was being played. Tbh I felt like was a medical student instead of a college student. Take this class with someone else "I dont care if your in the hospital intubated, you can NOT miss exams."
Larry is great! Ive taken him for ANP1 and ANP2. Neither classes are easy. He knows the content extremely well. Im so very glad to have taken his class because I have learned so much. This class is challenging but when you understand it, it is nothing but rewarding.
