For a class in Mahar, he did an excellent job. My semester he didn't make us do any reading; the test was all from the lectures, and were easy when I studied my notes and went to class. Very interesting and informative class, as well.

by far, he's probably the second best teacher I've encountered. Just a helpful tip for you future students...don't try to memorize things for his exams, MUST KNOW THEM, UNDERSTAND THEM, GO TO ALL THE LECTURES.

This is the most easy gen-ed class I have ever taken. Also, the class is very informative and definately not a waste of time. The teacher is the nicest and caring guy you could ever meet.

I failed all of the exams. He's a good prof but its a hard if you dont go to his letcures since all the exams are based on lectures. So if you're those type who skip class and cram before the exam, dont take it!

SUCH a hard class..but extremely interesting material..awesome guy. Dry wit, and very knowledgeable. He engages with the students a lot. If I weren't graded and could take it as a P/F, I would def. do it. But once again...HARD as whoa.

You better go to lecture... but if you do you will do just fine and enjoy learning all about Cancer and AIDs

Best class I have ever taken! I actually enjoyed going to it. Albey makes it so interesting and clear - easy if you go to class. Tests are almost directly from notes. No homework, just reading. Awesome class!

Reign Man will teach you alot, with a soothing compassion. Not the easiest class, if you study you'll do well. No homework is awesome.

One of the best classes I took at UMass. In 4 1/2 years, it's the only time I've ever seen a professor recieve a round of applause at the end of the course.

This guy is amazing. He's so clear in everything that he teaches and is willing to take any question at any time and give great answers. The tests are not too hard as long as you listen in class, and it's hard not to listen because he is so passionate and interesting. TAKE THIS CLASS!

Incredable class but his exams are impossible. Never misssed a class and did the readings. Ive got a C avg. If you dont mind the work or a hot to your GPA, youll love it. Dr. Reainer is one of the most engaging professores youll ever have.

This was one of the best classes that I have taken, Although it is a little bit difficult, this class teaches a lesson that everyone will have to use at some point in their life.

Really one of the best classes ever. It's not like a typical boring lecture, it's intense from the way he talks and the topics covered. After every class it feels like you just watched requiem for a dream. Nice guy, looks like Mr. Burns from simpsons, and very soft spoken. Dropped a few F-bombs.

I like this guy because he explains things like we're dumb. He is pretty clear about each topic and will answer any questions you have but you have to go to class! His exams are pretty hard but do the readings and if you cant get to class make sure you get the notes... overall it wasn't too bad.

Really inspiring guy- enjoyed every class i went to...tests are difficult, take good notes.

THE BEST CLASS..I can not describe the respect I have for Reiner. I would take a bullet for him.. LOVE this guy!! I learnt the most valuable lessons of my life from him.

This was a great class, the material was very interesting, and Professor Reiner did a great job of presenting it in lectures. The tests are difficult, and you need to attend class to do well, however study sessions are held before each exam which are very helpful, I would highly reccomend attending.

GREAT CLASS...tests are unbelieably hard (I am an A student) but if you go to class and prepare ahead of time you should do fine...Also I think he scaled the final grades and optional final. MUST TAKE if you go here.

This is the best class I've ever taken. If you attend every class, study the material YOU WILL PASS. It's a simple formula, folks. I am not even a biology or science-related major! Anyone who says this class sucks clearly doesn't even deserve to be at UMass. Transfer to Bridgewater!

So hard, yet so interesting. Don't sign up, just go to the lectures on your own so that you don't have to take the tests. Seriously, it's that interesting.

Every student should take this class, especially if cancer runs in your family. Dr. Reiner may be hard, but what he teaches you may possibly save your life. Do the work, and the results may be more than a good grade.

What a fantastic class relevant to anyone who lives in any society! Alby is an enthusatic, knowledgeable, talented professor who demands students attend classes and study. If you don't take this class you are selling yourself short.

Phenomenal teacher. He is EXTREMELY educated and intelligent, he is a wealth of knowledge. He's a great professor and his class teaches you so much.

Albey Reiner is the man, take his course if he's still teaching it, you'll learn volumes from his brilliance, compassion, humor and intellect. His is a class worth taking.

Almost 20 years after taking his course it's one of the ones I remember the most.

I took Albey's class in '86. Then a Business Major, now with an MBA from the Univ of Chicago--yet, Bio of Cancer and Aids (back in the AZT trial days, no less) is the one class with the most lasting, profound impact. I've bought 'We the Victors' out of print, and contemplate the power of the mind and spirit with far more than the CAPM. Thank you!

Like many others, and even more who will never look at this rating, Albey's class continues to teach. A true master. Thank you!

I took this class in 1987-ish, and found it to be one of the most transformational experiences I ever had. Reiner's inclusion of alternative medicine, spiritual inspiration and therapies, amazing guest speakers, and humor all truly engaged us, and his open-mindedness made him a role model that few compare to. I got so much from this class!

Even as a business major ('86), I suspected this would be the most important class I took at UMass. As the years and life roll on, that has become more clear. I strongly recommend it for anyone seeking an understanding... of just about anything.

The Molecular Biology of Cancer and aids was the best course I ever took. Thank you UMASS!
