Often does lectures for the books that we read (which you should have/ read or even extensive sparknotes). Lectures can get boring, but they are often interesting and will answers to the test. Essays vary, but not a tough grader. If you interact with him and he knows you try you will get a good grade. He is great teacher and very fun.

Best English teacher I have ever had. He actually cares about his students and their thoughts. If you take him for English IV DC then it is mostly about philosophy and there will be lots of class debates. He really loves Shakespeare (and Hamlet) so don't be surprised if you have to read some.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that he's the best teacher I've ever had the entire time I've been in school. I can't recall a day when his class was uninteresting, and while the class is lecture-heavy, his method of lecture along with his humor make them worth the listen. He also legitimately cares about the success and well-being of his students.

Mr. Brewsters class is always fun and we go over a lot of intriguing topics in this class. There is a lot of reading that is required for this class but the books are usually very interesting and worth reading.

Overall he is a great professor. However there is a lot of reading and there is a lot of pop quizzes that you need to be prepared for. He has challenged my writing abilities greatly for the better. He will go into depth and analyze the book with you as you read which is very helpful when reading British literature.

All you really have to do to be ahead in this class is participate in class and do the readings. If you do these things, this class turns out to be fairly easy, as it is mainly just reading and comprehending those readings which he does in lectures.

If you're looking for a chill English teacher than Mr. Brewster is your guy. We do have a decent amount of work in the class but it was never on a overbearing level. This course has a lot of presentations and group projects, but I think that isn't the choice of the professor, but a requirement of the course.

Because of this, the class is pretty easy if you put effort into actually reading the books and participating in the discussions. Mr. Brewster is also easy going and understanding.

Just be aware of the pop quizzes and you cannot really prepare for them. Do the work it is not usually a lot but it will drop your grade if you do nothing, you will have to put in effort.

mr.brewster is a very funny and cool guy. Despite reading not being my favorite thing, he makes it fun and interesting through his really good lectures analyzing. Beware of pop quizzes! They happen from time to time. They are easy basic questions though nothing hard.

Mr. Brewster is one of the good professors at Lone Star College. He does surprise the class with quizzes after a chapter is due for the book we are reading for the quarter. The class is not difficult just as long as you complete your assignments and read the books that are assigned.

Group projects, in-class assignments, and quizzes over readings are common, meaning grades are primarily based on participation.

If you are looking for an A in English 1302, or 01, don't pick him. He grades very harshly and is picky on paper even though it is tier 1 English. His teaching is good, but paper are harshly grade, and they make up 60 of your grade. Personally, I'm kind of bad at English but if you want an essay A, than don't pick this class.

I really enjoyed Prof. Brewster this summer in his BritLit 6wk course! Not a hard workload and easy-to-make weekly deadlines (not daily). Read Beowulf, Sir Gawain & Hamlet, he gives awesome explanation videos, + discussions & annotations, 1 test, 1 research/analytical essay. Super easy to handle and I had a great learning experience! Def. take him!

Most classes I could get away without reading the book through alternative summaries, etc. Really amazing class though! I highly recommend him.

I typically had about an hour of homework each day, but as long as you put in the effort, you should be fine. Just be prepared to invest a lot of time.

When he grades your papers he doesn't give very specific feedback, simply "could've expanded more here", like what? And if he doesn't think the word you used is the best word to use he'll mark it. Just very confusing and hard grading. And it's a British Anglo-Saxon literature class, so take that how you will. Lots of reading.
