Very cool & funny guy. Quizzes once a week, often partner/group, 1-3 questions. He is good at answering questions and reviewing for tests. Save & study your tests for the final. As long as you do the homework and pay attention you'll be fine.
Professor Kruger was the best math teacher I have ever had. his lectures were easy to understand and were simple. He used power point and did examples on the board which. There are quizzes every week, usually group quizzes and the exams were literally the wiley. If you do the homework you should get a 100% on the exams. do hw and go to class!!
Alec is a great teacher. He is smart, funny, and caring. Take him if you can!
He's an awkward professor but he is super nice and understanding. He does have dry lectures but gets stuff done. He also is kinda funny and isn't a hard professor at all. There is 3 test and one cumulative final. There are quizzes throughout the course that is exactly like the homework so do it! IF you dont understand just ask. He is always there.
He is a great teacher for the course. Makes everything very simple. Quizzes every week, 3 exams, and a final. Homework is not counted as a grade but is identical to tests and quizzes. I am taking him again next semester!
Best teacher in the math department. Pop quizzes every week, although most group. Really funny guy and should be an easy A.
Krueger is the best professor in the math department. He's really kind and understanding even under the worst circumstances. He really wants his students to succeed. He can be a little quirky but he's super sweet. Quizzes every week that come straight from the hw, which is optional as well.
LOVE HIM. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN. had him 2 semesters in a row, I'm surprised he remembered me. he makes you love math again because his lectures are so clear and easy. his quizzes and tests are like the wileyplus assignments. just make friends in the class because it's a lot of groupwork. he's a quirky, kind, hilarious professor. will not regret.
Professor Krueger is the best math professor at Loyola Chicago by far. If you have the opportunity to take him, I highly suggest you do. He is the most caring, genuine math professor at Loyola by far. Math is my worst subject by far, but Professor Krueger thoroughly goes through every problem and you'll find yourself retaining more than you think.
Prof. Kreuger is literally amazing. He is 26 (as of 2020) and super relatable. He's a funny guy who prioritizes students' understanding and ability to ask questions. He is the perfect teacher to choose. Only note about taking his class is that it is helpful for you to review your lecture material or put it in your own (non math words).
He is the best!! TAKE HIM! there was a quiz every week but the quiz questions are right from the Wileyplus homework. The exam is also the combination of quizzes and homework. I went to class only on the day of quizzes and test and got a solid A.
Professor Krueger is amazing! So glad that I took him.
Professor Krueger was great!! I wish I could take him again! We had online quizzes every week based on the homework and 3 exams and a final. He does not count homework into your grade. He is very friendly as well. I would recommend him.
I personally struggled with this class in the online format. I found that professor Krueger did not translate well online and his lectures were hard to pay attention to. There isn't a large work load, and I honestly may just have bias because I am not a huge fan of math, but I found myself teaching myself the topics on my own time.
Glad I got to take him again! Sad that I won't have him again next semester. he was super helpful wen my family got corona
Great professor, absolutely phenomenal. Made sure to accommodate everyone for any reason and make sure that nobody dealt with any problems. Very clear in his material, with quizzes every week (2 attempts per question on wileyplus), and tells you exactly what chapters are part of the tests. Accessible office hours to go over things. By far the best.
He's ok but really annoying. When he explains a problem he is very quick and it's difficult to catch up with. He expects you to already be really good at math. His chalk keeps rolling off the slanted podium he puts it on and he does this EVERY single class. Its unbelievable. You would think a man would learn from his mistakes but no, not this guy.
Professor Krueger is great. He cares about each student and wants you to succeed. He's really clear in what he expects in terms of grading. His tests almost exactly the Wiley homework and he lets you use your notes, Wiley, and Desmos on exams. The final was a bit of a curveball as it was much harder, but he's normally very fair on tests.
An Amazing Professor. He is so kind and will go over materials if you are confused. Make sure to do the homework and understand why you get a certain answer. Do all the homework, be on top of everything and you will do well. I wish he taught more classes.
This is my second semester taking professor Krueger and Im honestly sad I dont have room to take another math course because he is an amazing professor. Your grade is comprised of 3 exams, and a bunch of quizzes. As long as you do the wiley and attend lectures, you should be okay! Alec was always very funny and made this class enjoyable.
This course was completely online, and each session was synchronous. Homework is optional and is done on a program called WileyPlus, which is where weekly quizzes were as well. Quizzes were done on your own time, while exams were to be done during class and on paper. Pretty good professor, kind of fast paced but thats expected.
The best and most straightforward math teacher I have had. Prof. K does a great job clearly laying out the course and study guides. If you do the homework, do the study guides, and show up to class you can basically lock in an A. Wierd to say this but by clearly laying things out Prof. K makes the class so much better.
Prof. Krueger is truly wonderful. He takes the time to thoughtfully answer any questions, and doesn't make you feel stupid for asking!! He's a very kind and encouraging teacher, and he does a really great job of making the difficult content of this course accessible/comprehendible for his students. I highly recommend taking him if you can!
Krueger is an amazing math teacher. Fully explains concepts in an easy way. Quizzes and homework but homework isn't graded. If you want to pass do the homework because the tests and quizzes are usually homework questions. He goes over homework questions in class but only if people have questions otherwise he'll move onto the next chapter/section.
He is so nice. Although I am not the best at math, he grades so kindly - he really wants his students to do well and get good grades. He even provided us with extra credit to bump up our grades for those who were struggling (since calc is a hard class within itself). I feel like my grade is safe with him.
Exams are too long for the amount of time given. There are multiple parts to each question and to some questions weve never seen before. Hes a very nice professor but his teaching style is not effective.
I really loved this professor, he was so helpful, understanding, and accommodating. I would love to take another class with him if I had the chance!
Really good at helping you understand math. Took this class last semester. He's an amazing prof. Explains things thoroughly and clearly. Would take him again. Covers all the material that appears on the final. Really enjoyed his class.
If you do the homework and practice those questions you are almost guaranteed an A
Professor Kruger is amazing. Best math teacher I've ever had. I went from a B in Precalc and Calc 1 to an A in Calc 2. He explains things incredibly well and never makes students feel dumb. Very approachable.
I haven't taken math class in over 5 years and Prof Krueger made relearning math very straight forward and enjoyable. I will say that the Wiley Plus homework was very helpful as well since you applied what you learned in class to the homework. The Exams were usually some variation of something we went over which helped a lot to secure a good grade.
I LOVE PROFESSOR Krueger. He is so understanding. If you show up and pay attention, you'll pass. Office hours were very helpful.
Calc is hard and terrible, personally the cause for my ruination, but Alec is such a great professor, he makes it bearable. He's incredibly kind and cares about his students immensely. He's patient and encourages students to ask questions. Genuinely my favorite professor at Loyola, just make sure to put in the necessary work for the class.
Very good math prof at Loyola; he truly cares about each of his students. Weekly quizzes but they are usually only 2-3 questions that you work on in groups. Drops two lowest quiz scores. Sometimes offers remedial assignments for those that didn't do so well on an exam. VERY understanding and VERY caring professor. TAKE HIM!! You won't regret it!
The absolute best Professor Ive had at Loyola so far. He was extremely kind and caring, and I am not a math wizard by any measure but I did well (A-) in the class. 3 exams and a final are most of the grade (homework in Wiley was about 20%), and depending on how well you did on the final it would upgrade your 3rd exam grade If necessary. TAKE HIM!
Alec is a great math teacher. He's a bit boring, but if you just show up and pay attention, it's a really easy class. He's also super nice, and gives group quizzes every week. They aren't hard though, so don't worry about it. Homework is optional, doesn't count for a grade, but I recommend you do it to get good practice in. Overall, great class.
Hands down one of the best math profs. His tests are easy if you minimally study since he takes the questions from the homework (so doing the homework is a must even though it doesn't count towards your grade). He is also funny despite the lectures being slightly bland. Basically, just do the homework, attend lecture, and it is an easy A.
I took professor Krueger for all my precalculus and calculus requriemnts. He is a kind professor and his exams are really straightforward. If you do the homework, you can do the exams easily. I highly recommend him and he is probably my favorite professor at Loyola so far.
I love how clear his lectures are and how he is always willing to help and his office hours are extremely helpful!!!
He is the best prof ever!! he gives you so many chances to bump your grade up and is always helpful outside class. cannot wait to have him next fall.
His lectures are very clear and coming from someone who isn't good at math he makes a hard subject seem understandable and easy. He's nice and super accessible and helpful when you have questions and exams/quizzes are like the homework and straightforward. He wants his students to do well so definitely take him!
The best math teacher I've had hands down! I took his math 118 class and loved it. We had partner quizzes every week and extra credit opportunities here and there. He is also a very fair grader and always looks to give you points on exams even when you're wrong. On top of that, his exams are straightforward and come from homework.
fav math prof, I keep retaking him! homework isn't graded but it's great for studying. quizzes almost every week but he drops the lowest score. extra credit opportunity. always available outside of class. explains content well and is funny
Krueger is the best math professor. He wants everyone to pass and does everything to make sure we understand the material. He offered a few EC opportunities. The quizzes were based on the homework. He teaches at a good pace and is always willing to help students. I would definitely take his class again.
The best math prof. I've had at Loyola. The class is graded by weekly quizzes, three exams plus a final. He doesn't assign homework so its a very light class but you will need to do well on the exams.
One of the best professor's I've ever had. He actually cares about his students, and will take time to just hang out and talk with them. He will do anything in his power to help his students, whether it means giving them a few extra day to do a quiz, or even an extra week to take a test. 10/10 professor and an amazing person overall.
Super nice and understanding. He is a dry lecturer but his exams are straight forward nothing that hasn't been reviewed will be on there and quizzes are always done in partners
One of the best calc professors ever! He is very good at teaching the subject and is very straightforward. Quizzes are equivalent to the homework, and so are the exams. He is very flexible and cares a ton about his students.
10/10 would take again. Kruegs is the best math professor at Loyola by far. Give this man a promotion!
I took Alec over the summer and he was great. Gave us lots of breaks (class was 3 hours 2x a week), explained things well, and listened to our feedback. People actually showed up to class even though attendance wasn't required and lectures were recorded because he was helpful. We covered a lot of material in a little time but it wasn't terrible.
Professor Krueger is awesome. Especially when looking at the other math professors he is definitely the best. Class is still hard because it's math but can't imagine not having him. Homework is optional but every weekly quiz and exam are based on the homework so do it. Fair grader and great person.
Professor Krueger is super kind and a great professor! He really cares about his students understanding the material so he will clarify anything if you just ask. Extremely willing to help in and out of the classroom :) I would take him again for any math class!
Never again! He's a nice person but his class layout is the worst. No graded homework but grades only consist of weekly group quizzes worth 20% of the overall grade, 3 exams (45 minutes) with NO study guide that are worth 55% of the overall grade, and a final exam worth 25%. He is a tough grader on exams. I would not suggest him.
Professor Krueger is actually one of the nicest math professors Loyola probably has. He is so sweet and his classes are well paced. While the homework is not graded it is very helpful for the tests and quizzes. His office hours are extremely helpful and he makes math easy to understand.
This guy is amazing. I promise you if you take him you will understand the material. He's a really kind person and he knows what he's doing. TAKE HIM!
Just be aware if you take this professor he does not grade Homework at all. In the Gradebook the only thing that is counted is your 3 Exams, Your Final, And your weekly quizzes. You still complete the homework Assessments and don't receive any credit for the homework that you do because he claims that it will be on the "exam".
Weekly group quizzes with problems directly off the optional homework. Exams are slightly tougher than quizzes. Gives up to 5 points extra credit on an exam score at the end of the semester. Lectures can be very boring and slow, but it works really well when the topic is complicated. If you haven't taken calc before, take him. You won't regret it.
Prof. Krueger is such a sweetheart and v understanding. The class is 50% active group work & 50% lecture. You have to buy the Wiley+ textbook to have access to the homework ( < $100) - the book is useless but the homework is exactly like the test! Homework is not graded, tho. There's ~10 partner quizzes & 2 exams + final. SI sessions + Wiley+ = A!!
I never could've imagined that a math professor could be good at teaching math and be a great person but here we are. I learned a lot and he is by far the best math professor here at Loyola. Potatoes!!
I was worried about taking a college level calculus class but Professor Krueger completely surpassed my expectations. Expect weekly partner quiz, lasts about 5 minutes. Three unit exams as well as a common final given. Go to lecture and actually learn the material there/ask questions, as well as complete the optional wileyPlus homework. Loved him!!
Great lectures and is very helpful with questions and never makes you feel dumb for asking one. His office hours are always helpful and the homework is not graded but was always really relevant to the test. If you try Professor Krueger makes it easy to do well in this class.
Krueger is a super good guy, one of the nicest professors ive ever had. I liked the class at the beginning of the semester when we did group work, but as we went on we kind of stopped doing it, and I couldnt pay attention to the lectures because they were pretty boring, which i dont blame him for. All youre graded on is weekly quizzes and 4 tests.
He does have three exams and ten quiz only to define your grade, as two extra credit assignments. All exams are on paper and quizzes as well. You are not require wileyplus but if you want 10/10 on quizzes just get it and it will help. GO TO THE SESSIONS BEFORE EXAMS. Post all note stop lectures!! He was a chill guy and motivated me to do my best.
Alec is the nicest professor that I have ever had. His office hours were super helpful. Though it wasn't for points, the homework was pretty similar to the test questions. I hope I can have him again in the summer!
Amazing professor, explains the material very well and will help if you do not understand something. Would 100% take him again.
He is definitely top 5 professors, maybe even the top 3. He is such a chill dude and even though his lectures can drag, he is an easy grader and will help you if you are struggling.
He is honestly one of the best professors I've had at Loyola. He is very passionate about math and he makes things very easy to understand. He is great at answering questions and he is pretty lenient with the grading. HE IS AWESOME!
Best math professor.
Best math professor I have ever had. Incredibly understanding and genuinely loves teaching math. Cannot recommend him enough.
Hands down the BEST math teacher I've had. If you like a teacher who will explain to you step-by step how to solve problems, TAKE HIM! I loved the way he taught & this class was pretty easy because of that. Honestly, if you show up, pay attention, follow along as he does the notes, AND practice outside of class you'll be fine!
This is my second time taking a class with Prof. Krueger and leaving a review. I took him for 118 in spring and now 132 over the summer. Again, the BEST math teacher. I finished with a B in 118 and now an A in Calc 2. For Calc 1, I got a B with a different teacher ( I wished he did 131 over this summer). If have to, snag a class with him!
MATH 110*, not 117. His class is easy but please do these 2 things to succeed: First, DO the WileyPlus hw even though is not mandatory, but it will help you A LOT... Secondly, please follow along on the notes he does on class because it will be easier to understand the topic when you do so. Besides that, amazing and respectful professor.
VERY nice guy, and very smart. First half of the semester is pretty easy, second half it definitely ramps up a bit. He breaks you out into groups to work on problems and homework is optional, but weekly quiz problems are straight from the homework. Exams are hard and there is no study guide except for the final. Definitely requires outside studying
SO smart, SO nice. Would definitely reccomend. Super helpful if you have any questions, genuinely wants everyone to understand and do well. Optional homework, weekly quizzes that are super small & similar to homework. Three exams that are again based off homework. Study guide for final. Take him!!!!
Great professor! Wants his students to understand concepts and do well in the course. There are quizzes every week based off of the Wiley plus homework, three exams and a final. Homework is not mandatory but that is what he uses to make homework and exams.
TAKE HIM! Kruger's class is so doable if you put in the effort! There's optional homework; however, the weekly quizzes are based directly on it and will help you ace every quiz, three exams, and the final. He drops the lowest quiz and lets you add five extra credit points to any exam. He's amazing! I can't recommend him enough—he's the best!!
One of the greatest professors out there. Teaches math so that everyone understands it and passes the class. Weekly quiz where he gets the problems directly from the homework so if you do it the hw you'll be good. 3 exams all semester and a final. Couple of extra credit assignments and made a rly helpful study guide for the final. TAKE HIM!
Krueger is such a great teacher, I took him for 118 and 131 because I admired his teaching style. You need to study all the content he goes over to get over a B in his classes, but it is do-able. Hilarious and kind! Definitely take him
Awesome Professor. His way of teaching is very easy to understand. He is patient with his students. There are homework assignments and they are exactly like the quizzes and tests. The class material was basic and not overly complicated.
Very straightforward on homework and assignments. Homework is not graded, only quizzes and exams are (might be good or bad depending on how you perform on exams). Exams and quizzes are straightforward as well. Since HW is not graded, no need to spend $100 on Wiley unless you feel like you need the practice.
Nice guy but I did not vibe well with his teaching method. It's mostly just lecture, then group work and maybe a quiz. You don't get to work through problems as a class you are kinda just told what to do. Luckily I already knew how to do most of it. Homework isn't mandatory but you should 100% do it. Helps a lot.
Great professor! Very caring and super smart. Would have loved to take him again but this is my last math class.
Attendance is not mandatory, but there is a mini-quiz every Thursday. Homework is not graded but it's helpful to do because it's the same questions that are on the exams. Overall great guy and is so nice and helpful and wants you to understand it.
Good teacher. Group work so if you don't like working in groups to learn the material then don't take him. Quiz every Thursday but easy and comes from homework problems. Lots of help and easy to understand material. Cares about you and will help. Also very flexible for people who can't take the quiz or test.
Krueger is a life saver! Unlike my MATH 117 Prof, he encourages practicing the topic in class and cares if you understand. He never reads from the textbook, makes his own worksheets and presentations. Weekly quizzes on last week's topic. And if you study and put in effort you'll do good on exams. Homework optional, but encouraged.
He slays okay like he is such a good professor. there are quizzes every week and the question are right off of wiley plus (no surprises) same with the exam. He really prepares you for it and if you ever need help hes always there so go click enroll on locus rn stop looking at other reviews, I see you scrolling...stop just go hes the best no doubt
He's a great teacher, attendance is not mandatory but def go. There's an in-class quiz once a week, it's 2 questions, 2 tests and a final.(no cheat sheets) Need to purchase Whileyplus. Homework is not mandatory but it's the only way to practice for quizzes and tests.(no practice test except for final)
Overall good professor, always willing to help and you have plenty of time to ask him questions in class. Lots of group work too where you discuss the material with the people seated around you. No homework, but instead you get a weekly quiz and that's where the majority of your grade is based off.
Professor Krueger is so kind, and he really wanted all of his students to succeed. Only quizzes and exams for your grade.
Such a sweet guy and you can tell he wants you to do well. Quizzes and exams are fairly easy and the only thing that make up your grade.
Genuinely one of the kindest people I have ever met, and he cares so deeply about his students. This class is very heavy in group work, so if that's not something you enjoy, maybe consider a different instructor. Professor Krueger is accessible outside of class and always willing to discuss grades and help you! Definitely recommend!
I'm not a fan of group work and he does a lot of group work but he's really nice!
He is overall a really nice prof and very helpful in + outside of class. My issue with his course is that he ONLY DOES GROUP WORK! The group work is much harder and more complicated than what is on exams and quizzes. I had to teach myself everything. If you've taken pre calc in high school you should be fine but if not don't take him
Group work every class, the material isn't exactly difficult though. Very kind and is available outside of class. If you have to take Math110 I'd take it with prof Krueger.
a lot of group work but if you show up and do the online hw you'll be just fine. He is the sweetest person ever
