His power point slides were bland and boring. He whispers when he lectures and everyone talks over him. He taught in a lecture hall and there was no way to ask questions. He made typos and errors when we did math. He would always work the math on the bored, which was very helpful. But the way he solved the problems was not the most efficient way.
Dellachiesa has got to be one of UK's best teachers. He really cares if you're having trouble with the assignments and provides extra time out of his day to help you. His tests are a bit tricky but, he really tells you what you need to study and how you need to study it. Definitely would take again
He is kind, funny, caring, and easily approachable. That being said, his class diverges from the textbook and homework a ton. You are not graded on attendance, but if you want to do well, you have to attend. He uploads his slideshows, but they are not that descriptive. If you attend his class and stay involved with him, you can get an A or B easy
Best teacher I've had at UK. Always willing to help and kept students interested with jokes and relating topics in class to things we could understand.
Dr. Dellachiesa is a great economics teacher and educator. He really cares about his student's learning experience. UK is so lucky to have an educator like him.
This professor was probably one of the best I've had on this campus. I was stuck with taking ECO202 at 8 AM but his lectures inspired me to get up every TR.
Really test heavy class, about 80% of total grade. He's a really good professor though, and explains material clearly. Tests aren't too bad if you take the time to study the material and attend class. Attendance taken some days by reef polling.
Alejandro is such a nice professor. He really cares about his students and wants you to succeed. He is really helpful when answering questions. The class itself was more difficult than 201 in my opinion but still manageable. He dropped our lowest exam score this semester so I didn't have to take the final which was awesome.
This is a very interesting class. Alejandro was very relatable and explained things well. Class requires some studying, but if you go to class you should get an A or B. He also dropped one of our three exams.
Dellachiesa is probably the friendliest professor I've ever had. He is very down to earth and understanding. The guy enjoys just talking to you out in the hall and he really wants to you succeed. Class is easy too. I wish I could take more classes with this professor!
Sweetest professor ever! He really wants students to do well and does his best to offer up opportunities for extra credit! He does a lot of iClicker questions he uses for attendance and extra points, they end up helping your grade a lot!
Definitely my favorite professor this semester. He truly cares about his students. As long as you put forth the effort and go to class, you should get an A. Do whatever you can to take Dellachiesa. Even if it's an 8AM. He's the best
Amazing teach, really liked the way he taught. A great guy and someone who wants to see you succeed and will do anything possible to help you if you are willing to put the time. Awesome awesome guy
Best professor that I have ever had. Too bad I just met him now! He is incredibly engaging and passionate. For the first presentation, he scheduled office hours with groups to look over their ideas and projects and offered feedback and direction. He was very helpful.
Dr. Dellchiesa is probably the best Economics professor the I have encountered.
Professor D. has been the best professor I have had at UK. He has the ability to keep you interested in the class. He also uses simple analogies to relate the content to real world topics. Overall just an amazing professor
Dr. Dellachiesa is a very nice guy and does care about his students. I don't love stats so I can't say this class was boring or not. The only thing I didn't love was that he tried to call on people in a 300+ lecture which just doesn't work well all the time. My advice is go to class, recitation and study a bit for the exams and you should pass.
Taking ECO391 online was an awesome choice. He is a really fair and great professor! The final is cumulative but he uses repeat questions from exam 1 & 2 to make it easier. I would 100% recommend taking him.
He tries to make the class as interactive as possible. The beginning of class he goes over what you covered last time, what youre going to go over today, goes over it, then recaps what was covered. The way the class is laid out even the more complicated material is digestible. You do need to study for the test & do the hw. Extra credit available.
Took his ECO391 class and it was ridiculous. He thinks his class is more important than all your other classes. You have to go to class if you actually want to pass and even in doing that, he is not very thorough with his teaching.
This guy actually seems like a pretty kind and genuine dude, but is just terrible as a teacher. Doesn't explain things well, has very poor handwriting on the board, and overall doesn't do a good job of getting his message across to students. It is evident that he has great knowledge of the subject matter, but just struggles in presenting it
I loved having Dellachiesa as a professor. He did a great job of explaining things and gave great examples. He always covered things thoroughly and I never felt like his exams were unfair. He was also always willing to help if you needed it. I also think he did a great job transitioning in to online.
I took this class online, and I found that compared to other online classes the assessments reflected course material more and it was more meaningful work instead of busy work. also, Professor Dellaciesa was very quick to respond and very helpful with any problems I had.
Great teacher, great guy. Very responsive helping to solve problems. This is a high quality online course.
Dellachiesa is a great guy and even a better professor. IMO, every econ student should take a class with him at least once.
His notes packet is very helpful in studying. It makes taking notes much easier and the class easier to follow along with. He also provides a lot of practice exams.
Gives opportunity for extra credit and if majority of students struggle on the exam, will give even more. Was very understanding during the pandemic and went from proctored exams on ProctorU to unproctored on Canvas. Also gives practice exams which are very helpful!
He's very kind and responds to emails very fast. There's only 1 weekly assignment that is sometimes not exactly like his lectures, but google will have the answers. He gives you access to past exams so you can study easily. If many do poorly on the exams he'll give you /a bunch/ of extra credit. Super sweet guy.
Professor AD is very approachable and was always available for help. He is very supportive. He kept encouraging me to keep going even when I didn't think I could do it.
Very smart and wants to talk with you to make sure you understand content. Lectures however were all over the place and though he gives a lot of practice exams, you never really know what to expect on them. Multiple times content not covered in class was on exams. Overall a nice guy, but you definitely have to work for an A.
Professor Dellachiesa was not good. We only met once every 2 weeks. He would put out prerecorded lectures that were not at all helpful. Tests were hard and homework did not help.
Excellent work ethic and cares about students, and provides multiple opportunities. Challenges students to understand the concepts and material, not just how to do the math. I enjoyed the online lectures, and the material presented real-world applications. Presents information in a simple to understand manner that builds upon itself.
This man is a blessing. He takes the time to cater to your needs as a student and is very understanding if you need help. He even mentioned that if any of us have jobs, kids, etc. that hes happy to work with us on deadlines. He also is very sweet in general and is there for all students.
dr Delachiesa loves to teach and it shows. He is very caring and makes sure everyone has all resources needed to do well. You need to attend classes to do well.
AD. is an amazing professor. He makes attending a 9am class worth it!
Dr AD is awesome. He really cares and wants to make sure everyone understands the material. His class examples are also very funny.
AD is a great professor and he is extremely helpful during class and during office hours
Dellachiesa is a great professor with clear lectures. He gives access to all old tests to help you study. If you pay attention, you'll do well. Take him.
I highly recommend this class. You will be okay as long as you pay attention and attend his class
Professor Dellachiesa is a great person and professor. He likes to tell interesting stories occasionally, and he always makes sure that his students know whats important to remember during lectures and what will be on the exams. Theres homework for the first half of semester with more than enough time to complete and a total of 3 exams. 10/10
pros: caring, responds to emails quickly, gives generous curves, tries to help as best he can, provides note packet, provides several past exams for practice which are the most important study materials - your exams will be very similar cons: lectures can be confusing, notes are not always relevant to lectures, recitations not helpful
The best thing about his class is that he gives you a notes packet to use, he has MANY practice exams, and you get 2 tries on every homework. The only con is that the exams are worth a large chunk of your grade, but they aren't too hard if you study. His lectures are easy to follow.
Everyone should be required to take this class! I misunderstood so many things about how the overall economy works and this course cleared them up. I didn't even know that I didn't know till I took this course
Absolutely amazing professor! He is nice, very helpful, and he goes out of his way to help students. He also always respond to questions in a timely manner.
Professor D. has been the best professor I have had at UK. He explains everything very clearly and looks for responses from the class to confirm that we understand. He also reviews for each exam thoroughly which helps a lot. Overall just an amazing professor.
prof AD. truly cares about his students and is dedicated to making sure they learn the material. He teaches in a very informative way and he is very approachable. He is a great professor.
Professor Dellachiesa is passionate about what he teaches and teaches this class in a simple, clear, and informative way. He is one of the most caring and passionate professors at UKY.
Dr. A.D. is awesome! He doesn't make the class stressful and he is always available for help. He really tries to make sure students understand the material. I strongly recommend him
Great professor and very helpful. Definitely take his class. He truly wants to see his students succeed.
Dr. Dellashiesa is awesome, extremely helpful, and he truly cares about his students. I definitely recommend taking eco202 with him.
Professor AD is very respectful and helpful. You can easily tell that he wants you to learn not just the material but also develop your intuition. Be sure to pay attention and take notes during his classes if you want an A.
Very enthusiastic and willing to help. Best professor I've had so far
AD is my favorite professor I've had at UK. He's entertaining and keeps lectures interesting, as well as having a super organized class. Definitely recommend for ECO202!!
good professor
Great professor and truly cares about student success. One of the best professors in Gatton.
Love Dellachiessa! Great person, gives leniency to outside factors. Often uses jokes and is very informative in retaining concepts
I have had Dellachiesa twice and I can say he is one of the best professors in Gatton. This professor and I have a very good relationship and we still keep in touch, he cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Test heavy.
The professor teaches well and is responsive when you send an email. Class was very lecture heavy with a lot of information, make sure to take notes. Only down side is very few grades. Only have about 10 homeworks and 3 exams. If you get 100% on homework, it will not raise your grade at all. Your grade is basically your exam score average.
Dellachiesa is a great professor and genuinely cares about how his students perform. I didn't realize until the second exam that he posted previous semesters' exams for practice, do these a few times and get comfortable with those and you'll ace the exams. Your final grade is pretty much an average of your exams.
Professor Dellachiesa is just like a common professor. Though, a couple of things that I really liked are that he gives guided notes, and he posts all of his past exams. If you study those, you'll do fine on the actual exams. Also, homework is minimal and easy.
Alejandro was without a doubt, the best economics professor that I have ever had. He is dedicated and truly invested in making sure students understand the material. I thoroughly enjoyed covering economics that was related to everyday life.
Dr. Dellachiesa was a great professor! The course was not that hard and I learned a lot. Attendance in lenient and he provides many resources.
Best professor that I have ever had. Too bad I just met him now! He takes the time to go above and beyond and get to know his students and care about their success. You can also tell that he knows so sooo much about the topic and is able to give examples and talk about it in an interesting way.
Dr. Dellachiesa cares tremendously about his students. He makes himself available at all times to help his students. Many times he has spent a long time to sit down with me and go over problems showing me the mistakes that I was making and how to use my intuition to solve problems.
This class was extremely difficult. The professor would go over class time making me late for my next class, and would start his attendance quizzes as late as 9:48 am for a class that was supposed to end at 9:50. He had assigned seats for in person exams, used i clicker and had us pay for a subscription, and overall just made things more difficult.
Professor A.D. was always willing to meet and work with me to help me better understand the material. I can tell he really cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed.
TAKE AD's class!!!!! You will not regret it. He makes class fun and I actually enjoyed his 75 minute class.
AD is very understanding, and enjoys helping students. He stops the class and makes sure everyone is on the same page. He also knows how to hold student's attention with slight humor.
Professor A.D. was a very nice guy. However economics is not my best subject and I got very bored in class. The math that you need for the class can be learned in about 2 minutes and he does plenty of practice problems in class. Homework is difficult if you dont pay attention in class and I learned that the hard way.
He is a very nice guy and a sweet professor. Very knowledgeable but he is just not good at getting his point across and teaching the material. Tends to just scribble all over the screen in red and you can't even understand whats what after about 3 minutes. He seems like he really does want to help but teaching is not his strong suit.
Disclaimer - I'm not good at stats. For me this class was ROUGH, tho 391 is only stats. If you really want to learn and want to actually be able to use his lectures or ask for help take 391 in person, online won't be for you. But if you're okay sorta teaching yourself using the homework and going to the LEAP Lab then I'd recommend online!
Prof AD is the best economics professor I had. I thoroughly enjoy his classes since he relates economics to current events. My favorite economics class.
I would recommend Dr. Dellachesa to any student. Excellent professor, obviously loves teaching. He teaches the material well and is always available to help me with anything I don't understand.
Take his class. He is extremely helpful, very nice, and approachable. he loves to teach and it shows.
Great professor who cares about his students. Definitely take him.
Take this class! A.D. is so caring and an amazing professor!!
Love Alejandro Dellachiesa and the care he has for his students and their success both in and out of the classroom!
I had AD my second semester and so far he has been the best professor I've had easily.
You get out of the class exactly what you put into it. I learned more about statistics in this class than I did in all my other statistics coursework at the university.
Lectures are extremely boring and he sits and reads from the slides. Not impossible to get an A or B but be prepared to teach yourself the material. Not tech savvy at all and his handwriting is not great. Would recommend taking another professor. Exams are pretty difficult.
Not a fan. He speeds through lectures and reads off the slides without teaching a thing. You practically have to learn the material yourself. I took all online and watched the echos, so it was harder to know the class assignments. Make sure you do the lockdown pre tests even though they aren't on your assignments or calendar! Because I didn't.
He did a great job. He made macroeconomics enjoyable and fun.
One of the most caring professors I ever had. The homework was difficult, but really helped me understand the content well and it helps prepare for the exams. He allowed a cheat sheet on exams which was an amazing help.
Dellachiesa was absolutely fantastic. He is one of the nicest teachers that I have ever met. He made Statistics bearable for all of us. Take him if you have the chance but take in person.
Definitely choose him, he's caring and kind. The lecture videos with regression examples can sometimes be long. He speaks at a slower pace so I speed up the video. Homework helps you understand the topic. He lets you access all the previous semester's practice exams. He gave extra credit.
GREAT professor. You do have to pay attention and learn, but he will give you every chance to get a good grade. Really cares about how you do and will always answer questions and clarify if you need it.
Great guy; really wants students to succeed. Very fair teacher who uses real world examples to supplement his lectures.
I learned so much from this class. He gives amazing lectures for current world situations. You just need to pay attention in class to do well. If you take notes and study them for the class you will get an A. He drops the lowest 2 homeworks and gives extra credit.
Very good professor his lectures are structured well and the exams directly reflect them, If you go to class you should not have any problem getting an A.
Would rather watch paint dry but other than that not too bad. You might get lucky if he cracks a joke or smiles once a week. Easy to do well in if you pay attention, take good notes, and put in some effort on the one homework a week.
As long as you take notes and go to most of the classes, you will be fine. He goes slow in lecture and explains everything very well. He is super helpful and willing to work with you. For exams, just study the many past exams he provides and you will get an A.
Best professor ive ever had, makes it so easy
Best professor i've ever had, makes it so easy
AD is fantastic about explaining the material in class. He is very good at making the material easy to understand and giving real world examples. If you use the study guide, study the previous exams, you can get a good grade.
The class itself is challenging, exams are often not reflective of homework content however the professor himself was very pleasant. He seemed to genuinely care for the success of his students, I would recommend him and take his class again.
Great professor! Very helpful!! Attending class is important. Practice the old exams. Tests are straightforward but still a bit difficult.
Dellachiesa is a good, but dry professor. He presents the content slowly and clearly, and usually ends class early. However, ECO391 is the most boring class I have ever taken and I wanted to fall asleep every lecture. Weekly homework assignments and tests which are a bit harder than the homeworks but still manageable. Easy but boring class.
Great professor. He really wants you to understand the material. If you go to class and do your work you should have no trouble getting a B or an A
Very good speaker and very open to questions. He was always happy to help when anyone was confused. The only complaint I would have for his course is that his lectures were a bit bland and uninteresting at times. I found it hard to focus when this happened. I would definitely recommend him for any economics courses.
Cares very much about his students and makes that evident through his teaching. He is a fantastic teacher!
Decent class the only thing is that he doesn't go into detail with his examples. The examples are not relevant to the students he is teaching, so what he is talking about is confusing. Also, he does not go into any depth about the math part of this class. Overall if you are actually trying to learn from lectures I would not take this professor.
With all due respect to him, he is not a good professor. Does not answer emails fast, nor do the TA's. He is never straightforward about questions you might have. Is not understanding at all. Lectures are long and boring. Tests are difficult and your grade is basically determined on them. If you mess up on one, you aren't getting above a C.
We only had 3 tests the whole semester and homeworks count for just 20 percent of your grade. However, he gives all the previous tests and is great about answering questions. He's a really nice guy, and will help you be successful if you ask. I would take another class with him!
He is one of the nicest teachers that I have ever met. He is so patient and understanding. Just make sure you study his previous exams.
Professor delachiesa is one of the best professors I have had at UK.
AD is an amazing professor. Do the assignments and pay attention to lecture and you are good. Highly recommend taking him!
Great teacher. He likes to explain things in detail during class. He is also very kind and helpful.
I recommend Dr. Dellachiesa for 391. He is an excellent professor, obviously loves teaching, teaches the material well and is always available to help with anything you don't understand.
Professor was good at connecting real world examples to lectures. He gave us extra points on exams for no reason which was nice! His lectures are kind of boring and he's a really slow talker but they're not hard to understand so you'll be fine. Exams are online so take with that wha you will ( they are proctored though).
One of the best professors I have every had. He is super helpful and makes class fun. There is a very light load of work and they're pretty easy to do if you just show up to the lectures and take notes. He is also super awesome with test reviews to help make them easier and giving the key points of what's gonna be on the tests.
Dr. Dellachiesa isn't the professor for me. He is sweet, but not understanding in the slightest. Lectures were long, boring, and very fast paced. Also, not much of what he taught seemed to be on the homework. when asked a question, he either told me to get the textbook he never used, or go to the LEAP. Also waiting 5 days for a reply is normal.
AD is a great lecturer. While his exams are difficult, he does exam review to help with that. Just show up to lectures and follow along in the notes he goes over and you'll be fine. He is super caring and his office hours are helpful. Somewhat fast-paced, somewhat boring, but he does well at making the concepts apply to the real world for us to get
Great professor, really wants to make sure everyone understands the class. Only 3 exams throughout the semester, but he reviews before the tests and the exams are similar to what was in class and in the homework.
Online exams with plenty of exam review material available. I struggled to understand him in class, but I found it easy to teach myself the material through the review material posted. I just don't prefer teaching myself the class if I am being honest.
Terrible. Do not recommend him to anyone. Not helpful. Always busy. His Ta's do everything.
The class can be difficult but he is very friendly and extremely helpful if you go to office hours. Exams were online, but attendance in class everyday
He tries to make the lectures as interesting as he can and uses great examples. His grading is very clear, he gives you everything necessary to succeed. He has outlined notes for the semester to fill in during lecture which I found very helpful. He also gives access to past exams Q&As with explanations which is a great resource.
A.D. is a very sweet guy. He is helpful and kind when questions are asked. But I will say, while he provides a lot of study materials for exams (10+ past exams), I found it to be too much. Even when I would do all of them, there were still questions on the exam I hadn't seen before. Other than that, this class was pretty ok and not too bad.
Professor AD. cares very much about his students and makes that evident through his teaching. He is a fantastic teacher!
The nicest professor ever. Loved having him for class. Open to students' concerns and is willing to help you. Would 100 percent take again.
This course is pretty straightforward. A good chunk is a review of STA296, and the remainder is "new" content, but it is not hard at all. AD is a great professor; he explains the concepts well, makes it applicable to the world, walks through things that may confuse you/has for past students, and is a really caring guy. He wants you to succeed fs.
Professor AD. is very engaging and passionate about the material. The lectures are fast-paced but he provides great review resources, including past exams and study tools like Unstuckstudy, to help you succeed. Attendance is a must, but the workload is manageable.
He is so kind. I cannot recommend him more. He is super understanding, lectures are actually informative, and he teaches in a way you can learn. Homework and exams are directly reflective of lecture content. Great guy and overall recommend him for all econ courses!
I took Professor AD for 202 and decided to take 391 because I felt he was a decent teacher. He is a very nice person and is passionate about what he is teaching, but I do not think he teaches it in the most understanding way. Sometimes it is hard to understand him and he is not accessible outside of class. Do not expect any help from him.
Econ 391 is difficult if you don't put in work. Other than that he made the exam very simple and straightforward and gives tons of practice. But his very sweet
I had him for ECO 202 and ECO 391 in the same semester. He was very kind and understanding and did a good job teaching. If I had to pick, I'd say he was better at teaching 391, which is really a statistics class. That seemed to be more his thing. But I still liked him for both and would take his class again.
Genuinely enjoyed this class. For some reason, it definitely feels easier than Econ 201. He's a tad bit hard to understand with his accent at first, but over time you get used to it. Great professor, and already planning on taking him for ECO391
He is a great teacher. All assignments are online and easy to do! Attendance is technically mandatory but he is very lenient if you need to miss class and at some point he stopped taking attendance for my class.
Overall this professor seems like a nice person in general, but not a good econ professor. I cannot really understand him in lectures and he doesn't make sense a lot to me, he tends to over explain to the point where you forget where he started. Tests are about the only thing that is actually graded so you have to do good.
AD is always willing to clarify and find new ways to explain something so that it is simpler to understand. I would take 202 with him.
I've taken Professor Dellachiesa for two courses now and have loved him for both. There is ample material provided for you to understand the material. The class has been enjoyable and not incredibly stressful. He's an excellent professor and I highly recommend him.
Literally the sweetest professor I have ever had. He is one of a kind. He truly loves and cares about his students. LOTS of homework but that is how you learn this material by practicing it. Take him if you have the opportunity.
The nicest professor ever. Loved having him for class. Open to students' concerns and is willing to help you. Would 100% take again.
I enjoyed taking AD's course, he does all he can to keep boring content as entertaining as possible. Grading was fair, the exams are weighted pretty heavily but fair. An A or B is achievable with proper preparation, old exams as a practice tool are very helpful. Enjoyed him and will take 391 with him next semester.
Professor Dellachiesa is a kind and caring man. He is soft spoken and definitely wants to help his students. The material for this class is not interesting at all. His lectures feel slow and tedious but I don't necessarily think that is from any fault of his own. It's not the most interesting class but you have to take it and he is a good man.
He is a very knowledgeable professor and spends much of the class making the economics material practical and valuable. He is very funny, and if you talk to him outside of class, he will remember your name. Would take again.
He is always willing to help students out and really does want his students to be successful in this class. His lectures can be a bit boring, but he makes the content easy to understand. He also provides a lot of practice problems for each exam and also does exam reviews in class leading up to the exams.
Loved Dellachiesa he was awesome and so helpful and pretty funny. I dont see any reasons why someone wouldnt want to take him. His lectures can be boring but I mean no econ class is exaclty entertaining. Attendance was only taken at the beginning of the semester as always but stops after the mandatory period. Definitely take him!!
good prof, took him for 391 and 202 in the same semester. didnt think that exams reflected the lectures, but he was always willing to answer questions. i wouldn't take him again, but i liked his classes.
