I took public speaking this semester, and Mr. Jazan really is a good teacher. He grades fairly if you do a good speech and meet the requirements you will get a good grade. Its a great learnig experience and you wont regret the class, you learn alot. Jazan is a great teacher and grades fairly. But be prepared to make a speech every other week.

He is really a great teacher. he knows what hes talking about and makes the class fun and interesting to be in if youre willing to open up. I say if you want to gain experience in public speaking hes the teacher to have

I really enjoyed Professor Jazan's public speaking class. He was extremely helpful and made an intimidating subject fun and interesting. As long as you show up and do your speeches,you should get a good grade in this class. He doesn't expect you to go up in front of the class and deliver your speech flawlessly, so just try your best!

Great teacher! I enjoyed his class to the fullest. Had him for interpersonal communications and had lots of fun. He made everything interesting and exciting. Made my fear for public speaking go away. Explains all the assignments and what is expected. If you do the work you will succeed in his class. Hopefully I take his public speaking class.

Great Techer!!! This class was really fun and not very hard! We only took 2 tests: midterm and final, and neither were hard if you look at the study guide. Lots of group and class work which is fun!!

Really great Public Speaking professor! Took him last spring and I loved it. He's really nice, encouraging, and gives great examples on what to do and not to do for a speech. I'd reccomend him to anyone!!! Just make sure you show up, turn in your assignments and prepare for your speeches and you'll pass with no problems.

Mr. J is one of the best teachers at COD.He makes class fun,interesting, and makes a challenging subject like public speaking easy to comprehend. show up to class and do the speeches and you will pass the class. He always offers to help out if something is confusing. he expects alot out of students adn i appreciate it. i recommend his class.

He is AWESOME! textbook is hardly needed because he is the textbook. Had a great time in his class hes very intellectual and i would reccomnd anyone to take his class. He is strict with attendance and turning in work, but remmeber guys this is college=)

he is truely one of the best professors ive had, and he is a sweetheart. he's professional yet lenient. i hate public speaking but he helped me a lot with it, and plans fun activites to get to know all your peers so your comfortable. the speeches are based on fun topics so its not as hard nor terriying. he is great, take him!

I took him for a public speaking class, and wow he is a amazing teacher. He cares about his students ,and really tries to help you get an A with his class. Attendance is mandatory, and he will give you a lot of points for each day your there. You hardly ever use the book, and it is very cheap. Indeed a lot of work, but not that bad!Take this class!

Absolute best in the West!

He gives a RIDICULOUS amount of work for a 3 credit class. It's fine if you don't work, but when you have a full-time job, you will find it hard to fit in his classwork. He plays favorites, so raise your hand often, and show you know your stuff. He also thinks very highly of himself. If you need help, he will help!! Tests are on reading.

Excellent professor! He's very concerning, motivated and authoritative towards his subject. Great energy, lot's of activities that are great essentials towards communication. Theres quite a bit of writing for this class. Class involves a lot of writing which is not difficult at all and is brief. Great class!

I took Professor Jazan for Decision Making/Advocacy. He is such a dynamic teacher! Ice breakers before class really get you pumped for learning. Plus, his examples and explanations of theories are highly relatable. We had two major papers due, and one involved group work. I highly recommend taking his classes!

I can honestly say that the class has made me a better public speaker. Mr. J is one of the best professors at COD and i enjoyed taking his class. He expects a lot but like he says what you give is what you get!Definitely take him!!

Lots of work, not an easy class, great teacher, if you are in a public role of speaking , you should take this teacher, he does not accept crap, so if you do a crappy job up you get a crappy grade, a lot of work tho, but nothing in life is easy!

First of all, let me say that I'm not someone who speaks a lot. This class will not be easy/fun if you can't get over your fear of public speaking. Jazan grades fairly. He's very pinpoint on what he wants done in his classes. Easily my favorite class taken at COD, if you're willing to learn and have an open mind you'll have fun in this class.

easy class, at first I was not into the class, but give it time. This guy is very good and truly someone who loves his job. I would of got an A but I slacked, easy B and I say easy

I would have gotten a better grade in this class but my job got in the way. He makes it very easy to understand and be comfortable with public speaking.

This class is easy but a lot of work. I was on the ball for most of the semester and barely passed with a low A. He's very fair and very available to his students whenever they need him. If you don't like public speaking, or aren't very good at it, TAKE HIM! Gives many ice breakers so you feel comfortable speaking! You will learn alot!

Jazan is amazing; clear, always helpful, shows a genuine interest in student success, and answers all questions asap. Class is demanding, needs high memory skills, 90-100% effort, and takes up many hours all semester for an A. There are no surprises as to what is expected. I was already very good, but his class made me excellent. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed Professor Jazan's class very much. He was very helpful and answered every question a student asked. His teaching ethic made for a very fun class environment. We did a lot of class activities throughout the course. I made a lot of friends in the class and am very thankful for Professor Jazan helping me become a better public speaker!

i enjoyed mr jazans class.. the subject was tough but not to much work in the class... only a paper, debate, and presentation... highly recommend taking this class if you need a critical thinking class.

I wish I had taken this class a long time ago. Jazan is very informative and expects the most out of you but gives you the skills you need to do it. If you're taking this class, take Jazan. He will work with you if you put in your part.

Not sure what last student is talking about....... Mr J is an excellent professor at COD, definitely an asset for the college. He sets the bar high for every student and tries his best to help students pass the class. He expects the best from all students and is very inspirational. He tries his best to make everyone feel comfortable and safe!

Even though I was taking the class in the winter session and the class was almost 4 hours long, the class never got boring. It is a very interesting and fun class. If you stay on top of things and put effort in you will get an A easily . The activities and ice breakers are enable and you will enjoy his public speaking class.

So I took the winter class where it's monday-Friday 6:00-9:30pm and didn't not seem like a long class. So attendance isn't mandatory but he gives a lot of participation points so it's best to go to class. Gives a lot of feedback which is nice.

Hands down one of the best teachers at COD. He is helpful and cares about his students. I recommend taking one of his speech classes.

You only do four speeches during the entire course and requires lots of research for each speech. About six annotated bibliographies (200 words) for each speech and an APA format outline (about 5-6 pages).

I loved taking professor jazan. this is a college class so be prepared to take a COLLEGE CLASS!!! He does expect a lot from his students, but what professor doesn't? I would definitely take his class again.

Professor Jazan is great!!! I had him for public speaking and he gives you a speaking packet with everything you could possibly need in it. He gives you assignments worth easy points. The speeches aren't so difficult, and there's outlines provided to help you out. Just as long as you turn everything in, it's an easy class and easy good grade.

Professor Jazan is a great professor, easy A if you do all of his busy work and turn everything on time. He gives extra credit, I recommend doing it! Also, he really cares about his students and is always willing to help. Highly recommend taking him!

I really enjoyed his class. If you really want to improve on your public speaking he is the teacher you should go to. He is really helpful. You will present in front of the class more than once, and it seems like a lot to take in, but it is worth it.

Professor Jazan, Is a very great, You must be in class everyday, and lectures are not boring at all. He really wants you to succeed in his class. He will respond to all your emails and answer any questions he may have. The speech projects are not easy prepare not to sleep. This is my hardest class, but I really enjoyed it.

Jazan was a great professor! I was skeptical at first, however, he turned out to be one of my favorite professors. He sincerely cared for each of his students and gave everyone the tools to get an A. He wanted every student to pass. He was extremely passionate about his subject which was a nice change.

He's a really great professor, but the work is a bit heavy so you'll definitely need time to work on his assignments. He is a kind grader so if you try, he'll definitely take that into consideration.

Professor Jazan is one of my favorite teachers, he definitely pushes you out of your comfort zone I am a terrified public speaker but he's definitely helped me. You get a mix of projects, groups, warm ups etc he wants to see his students succeed and he's there to answer any questions openly and welcomes you to do so, defiantly recommend!

Professor Jazan was one my first professors upon attending COD. He was very thorough and his lectures were very enjoyable. He did a fantastic job of explaining terms and concepts pertaining to the text book. He is passionate about teaching which shows and an overall joy as a teacher.

I absolutely LOVE taking Professor Jazans group communication class. His class is a lot of work but is also a lot of fun as well. This is truly the best professor i've ever had. His passion for what he does is infectious. He goes above and beyond just being a communications professor. I would liken him to a life coach. The family like atmosphere he creates in his class makes taking Public Speaking a great experience.

To say Jazan is phenomenal is an understatement. From day 1, he was my favorite professor & the attitude he started with the semester with, he ended with too. This man is INCREDIBLE. There is a good amount of work for speeches but I would take Jazan again without hesitation. He motivates & inspires! He was all of our #1 fans and now were his!!

My whole class loved Jazan so much. There are not enough characters in the world that would be able to explain what an inspiring, motivational guy he is. He will HYPE you up before a speech. I took small group because I was scared to take public speaking and even though we did have two presentations, I was confident in what I was doing because of his support. Take a class with him. Dr Jazan is a very good motivational teacher, he truly loves teaching communications

Dr. Jazan is truly one of the best teachers at the college. He gives extremely nice feedback and even provides you with supplies if you don't have them. He has 5 speeches in total, and missing even one will prevent you from getting an A-. I suggest going for the second week on the 2nd and 3rd speeches if you're too shy or haven't even started yet.

He gives you a few major assignments and gives you about three weeks to do. He usually gives two tests, a midterm and final which is completely common sense and even then he will go over it with you. You do have to come to class. He will make you feel so comfortable and he's so understanding. Isn't a tough grader. Do your work and you'll pass.

We had around 8 presentation but nothing too hard... overall, great professor with a great personality.

Dr. jazan is the best professor Ive had at COD. He was so understanding about the anxiety that comes with public speaking. He encourages you to overcome your anxiety and gives you all the tools necessary to do so. He assigns a lot of speeches but prepares you well. He did a lot of activities to help you mentally prepare for his class and others

BEST PROFESSOR at COD! He is understanding, comforting, and motivational which is extremely beneficial for a public speaking course. There are four speeches in total that you have to present which are an introduction, informative, persuasive, and impromptu. It was not very difficult at all. I would definitely take this class again!

He is the most caring Prof I have ever had!!! He genuinely cares about how you're doing and about your grade. If you don't understand the material, he is more welcome to answer. He responds back really quickly too. he provides many sources for you to understand the material. If you participate you will definitely pass the class with an A.

Very accessible and fair grading professor. Always gives more than enough resources for discussions and very clear grading criteria. Be prepared for weekly discussions and quizzes (questions straight from course material). Easy A.

I had the opportunity to take the class "Introduction to Public Speaking" for a winter class from Professor Jazan and found the class to be enjoyable. The assignments were simple, you will be talking in front of the class, but he is helpful with activities to make public speaking more comfortable.

Jazan was a great professor, he was caring towards all of his students.This class helped build my confidence in public speaking, but did not improve my abilities. I wish we had learned better tactics to improve our skills, but it was still good practice. It's easy, don't be scared! Would recommend!

I took Dr Jazan for Public Speaking in summer school and it was a great class. We were all so supportive of each other during the class and I have made great friends in the class. He makes the class challenging but very doable. His activities were really Interesting and fun and is very accommodating especially if you get nervous before speeches.

Professor Jazan made public speaking interesting and much more fun than I thought it could be. His love of teaching public speaking is contagious and helps to ease the fears most of us have of putting ourselves out there.

The nicest professor I've ever had!! Quizzes were two questions that were easy to answer and final was only 10 questions. Professor sent very nice replies and we only had about one assignment per week. Class was very interesting as well! 10/10 recommend.

Dr J is the best professor for public speaking. I recommend all of my friends to take his class as he is so encouraging and supportive and helps everyone with the fear of public speaking. There is a lot of speeches involved but he really helps so much with each assignment. I totally recommend his class!

I took COM 001 Fall 2022. It was such an amazing class and great environment. The professor is professional but caring. He loves to laugh and joke around; I struggle speaking in public and in general. But this class I was talking a lot. There are 3 full-Speeches 6-8 mins and 3 mini-Speeches 30secs-1min. We did group discussions and fun games.

This professor is easy, fun, interesting, helpful, engaging, respectful, motivating, and nice. Taking his class is taking the opportunity to truly become a professional public speaker. I took Dr Jazan for intro to persuasion and I enjoyed taking his class online. I learned a lot about persuasion and his class was fun and interesting. He replies quickly to my emails and he is there to help you with the class. Take Dr J for all communication courses. He's the best.

I took intro to persuasion it was the easiest class ever. His coursework is very straightforward. It alternates between discussions and quizzes. There are two exams and one final superrr easy! I highly recommend taking this course with Professor Jazan!!
