Take the class with a friend! All group work, get to have 2 pages of notes for the tests. Nice guy.....watch out though, he sweats like a ****!!!
SO SO SO SO SO Easy, bring a friend (preferably one who is good at math). I suck at math and got a B...go to the study session the night before the test, and do all your labs!
He is very easy, but he is really gross. He sweats constantly and his mustache gets annoying. Take this class with a friend because there is a lot of stuff to do with another person and this makes it easier.
This class is very easy; he will spoon feed it to you if you go to class. There are "in class" exercises, and they are 20% of the total grade.
So easy! He's a very sweaty lil guy though
Cool teacher, material is hard but he will bend over back to help you out. Good guy, good teacher. Just be careful and watch out for the mustache, and the sweaty pitts!!!!!
Well organized. Broken english (professor is spanish). Good sense of humor. No textbook - all material on web!! A little bit **** - be prepared.
Bad. He's very well organized, but tests are 4+ hurs long (final was 3PM-8PM) & very tricky - be prepared. Get help from someone who's had this class before. NOT a course for your first semester, take the Foundation of Education series of statistics courses instead, FOUN7300 or another teacher.
Terrible accent. I couldn't understand him at all. Thank God for GTAs. Sweaty
OK, all this stuff about the accent is crap. Yeah, he is Latino, but he speaks more articulately than many Caucasion profs. He is very organized. All and all, he makes a rather difficult subject understandable. Get him if you can - WITH HIM, a non-math-minded person can make an A; I did.
Knows his stuff and can communicate it: unusual for some.
He's a really nice guy with a good sense of humor. This is not too difficult if you go everyday. You get to bring cheat sheets to every test and he posts old tests beforehand so you can get an idea of what to expect. He gives plenty of bonus points that help out a lot. Not my favorite class, but not bad either.
Great teacher. He explains the material in a way that everyone can understands and realizes that not everyone likes math. he is so helpful. if you have to take stats take him!!!!
Dr. Lazarte is SO EASY. He gives lots of class excercises, which really help your grade in the end. Tests are a LOT easier than the homework. He sweats a lot, but besides that he is a great teacher.
I love Dr. Lazarte! He is so nice and funny in a quirky little way. His class is not hard at all if you go to class and do the work. There's a little quiz at the beggining of every class which aren't hard and an exit activity. Definately take him...I hate math and I actually like this class!
This man is very nice and very willing to help if you go to him. He gives soooooooo many points so even if you do really poorly on the tests(which are easy) you will still do very well. I don't see how anyone comes out of this class without at least a B+. If you need Stats TAKE HIM!!
Mr. lazarte is one of the nicest teachers I have had at Auburn. there is a lot of busy work but it helps your final grade a ton if you do not do so good on the test. He is funny and helps you out a ton. He told us no one has ever failed because he makes that impossible! take him if you can for statistics.
Dr Lazarte is a great teacher. He explains the material really well, and everything comes straight from the notes (DON'T buy the book you don't need it). He is hispanic, but his accent is not hard to understand unless you're an idiot who's never met anyone ESL before. Quizzes and homework are not hard. I haven't had a test yet in his class though.
I love Dr. Lazarte. His class is fairly easy. Just go to class and labs for participation points. He's funny if you listen to him. His accent can a little tough to understand but you get the hang of it.
one of the top 3 hardest classes I have taken in college so far. boring subject, horribly time consuming, I honestly don't remember anything I learned and i just got done with the course. dr. lazarte is cool in the aspect that he makes sure no one fails the course. class met four days a week which totally sucked. minitab labs were totally stupid.
He was very easy, but it seems impossible to make an A in the class. He makes it impossible to fail with anything less than a C really and he allows cheat sheets for every test. Take him if yu need stats, it is a boring subject, but he made it easy even for me and I am definitely not a math guy.
I wouldn't recommend this class. Everything in it seems very doable and easy but then there are tests that even when studied for come from no where and they are 65% of your grade. In all its a lot of busy work for the class which is necessary for a decent grade, but not helpful in learning because he's always making typos and number issues
On the 1st day of class, Dr. Lazarte said that no one had ever left his class w/ less than a "C", but I was doubtful. Thankfully, I was wrong and he was right. Despite barely passing every test, I managed a C. Show up for labs and class. Quizzes and labs will be gone over and you basically can't help but make 100 on them if u show up.
If you need stats for you major, take Dr. Lazarte. He practically spoon-feeds you the material. Go to class, go to lab, do the busy work, make sure you take the time to make up a good cheat sheet (he lets you have two pages, handwritten, front and back for each test) and you'll do fine.
Take this class if you have to have stats! Dr. Lazarte is pretty cool, and no one will get lower than a C. You can print out the notes off Blackboard, but there are participation points (clicker quizzes) each day in lecture. Just do the busy work and go to lab and you'll be fine.
Most awesome prof ever.
Dr. Lazarte was pretty difficult to understand at first, but I eventually got used to his accent. He gives daily in-class quizes, but they are not hard, and most of them he ended up giving us the answers to. You will have TONS of grades in this class, so plenty of opportunities to make up bad grades.
This class is unlike any of my other Auburn classes. Lazarte is very nice, but there are too many grades for the GTAs to keep up with. There are two labs a week, daily quizzes and 6 tests over the semester. It is nearly impossible to learn from lectures alone because he just talks, so it all depends on your GTA. I had to teach myself everything.
Dr. Lazarte is a great professor! I look forward to his class every day. He's funny and really wants his students to enjoy statistics. The homework and quizzes help your grade if you do not do well on the exams.
Tests are fairly straightforward and making A's is achievable. GO TO CLASS AND LAB. You get points for both every time you go and those points will really help if you don't do too well on a test or two. You will teach yourself for the most part, but he provides a lot of notes with examples. Ask you GTA for help.
Nice guy, lectures go really fast and they are confusing. You will teach yourself for the most part. Come to class, the free lecture activity points add up and help out. GTAs do lab, free points for the most part there. The tests aren't a gimme even with the cheat sheets he allows. Tons of formulas, more like cal than stats. Don't buy the book.
He is cool
Assigns a textbook but never uses it or refers to it except for a few homeworks which are weighted so lowly they barely matter. the book he assigns is over 100 bucks and a complete waste. as for teaching, his classes ALWAYS RUN LONG and he just kind of gets up there and preaches without making sure we are following. he's good, but not for every1
The material was very easy but the schedule of the class and lab got confusing. I never quite knew what was due or what was on tests. There is homework every night. The notes are online and the material is basic so I had no problem getting an A, but his mandatory classes didn't really help me at all. The TA was more helpful than him.
Go to lectures, he doesn't take attendance but gives a daily quiz each time, which is essentially the same thing. Lectures aren't really all that useful, but he posts notes and powerpoints online, so if you study those and old tests, the tests are pretty easy to pass. It's fairly easy for a math class, but you still have to work a little for it.
Lazarte is kind of boring and lecture is hard to pay attention in. But the labs are really easy and the TAs make it so you can understand the material and the tests are almost the exact same as the old tests so its easy to do well on the real tests. There are a lot of online quizzes.
Go to class because theres canvas quizzes everyday in class (he gives the answers). The TAs are super easy to contact and help a lot. You're allowed to bring 2 sheets of paper of notes to each exam (KEEP THOSE BC YOU CAN BRING ALL OF THEM TO FINAL... which means you can have 12 sheets of notes on final.) It takes minimal effort to get an A.
The professor is a super nice guy and the TAs are really helpful. All the test are pretty easy if you paid even the slightest attention to the lecture. You should do the off class activities before the test so that you'll have a little practice with the calculations. Overall it's a pretty easy A.
He's a wonderful teacher, he's interesting, he gives very clear expectations for tests, there are a lot of quizzes in class but you'll pass every single one as long as you go. The tests can be a bit tricky but he gives you plenty of opportunities to earn grades so the tests don't impact your grades as much. Easy to go to with problems.
Had to retake this class and this professor was 1000 times better then my last one. Besides taking attendance you don't have to pay attention. I did my homework during class. He's super caring about his students and does study sessions before each exam. the exams are just like the study guides and as long as you go to those you'll be good!!!!!!!!!!
I was fully expecting to get a B in this class because I failed my high school stats class, but this class has been shockingly easy. Dr. Lazarte really cares about his students and he's kinda funny. He does a review session before each exam and the exams are just like the study guide. You also get two full pages for cheat sheets on each exam.
He lectures straight from the powerpoints (which he gives you) so you don't really have to pay attention all that much if you go back and study them later for the test. There are in class quizzes, but you work in groups and have unlimited tries (so it is an easy grade booster). Tests can be hard, but a lot comes from the in-class quizzes.
This man is so funny and sweet! His accent is easy to understand. There is a quiz everyday (but you get unlimited attempts) and multiple homework assignments and computer labs every week but they are straightforward and not that long. Its easy to make an A in this class because of all the homework and quizzes. His tests are just like his practices.
Dr. Lazarte is a wonderful professor. I had him for honors and it was a very easy class. He cares about students and even let us use two pages of notes for some of our tests. His accent is strong but not hard to understand. He smiles a lot and will make you laugh. Gives full study guides for all exams. Take this class if you can!
Professor Lazarte was by far my favorite teacher this semester. He is a sweet person, and his lectures are very funny. There were several canvas quizzes with unlimited attempts and three tests, including the final. The class was able to have notes for two of the tests, and all of the tests also had easy take home portions. Very easy honors class.
He was sometimes hard to understand but really tries to engage us and help us master this course the simplest way possible, because he knows it can be difficult for some non-majors. Go to his office hours if you need help. He is very passionate about the subject and willing to help.
Professor Lazarte is nice and funny. We had a summary quiz at the end of each class for extra points. We had homework once every two weeks but the correct answers were given so you could always make a 100. This class is difficult but if you study you can get the grade you want.
Such a sweet human, very passionate about the course. Very easy class and he wants to do whatever he can to help his students do well (ex: after first test people did not do as well as he wanted, so he let us take in two pages of notes for the next test). Have three total tests, some sporadic quizzes on Canvas, no homework really. Definitely take!
Dr. Lazarte is great. The class is not that hard because for every test he lets you have two cheat sheets and he gives out practice exams as well as having reviews before each test. Each out of class assignment can be taken as many times until the deadline and each daily quiz can be taken as many times until like 15 minutes after class ends.
Easy assignments, easy quizes (unlimited tries), but really boring lecturer, but also really easy to get an A if you do all the assignments.
Literally this class is pointless and dumb. You wont learn anything from it. You get to use your phone and 2 cheat sheets on each exam. His lectures are EXTREMELY boring but you have to go cause of his pointless summary quizzes (infinite tries). If you want an A take it, if you want to learn something, pass almost instantly on this. Lots of HW too
this class was extremely boring and the lectures were pointless. he didn't communicate anything properly to the class so we were confused the majority of the time, especially on test days that were always a disaster because he didn't let everyone know which platform we would be taking it on. also not very accessible by email
He was super super boring in class (online) and had long lectures that were pointless so I basically just had my laptop on mute the whole time. There is a good amount of online quizzes you need to do but you get unlimited attempts. I never took notes and just did the practice tests the day b4 test and got A on each test. Easy A, no effort at all
He goes through the lectures kind of fast but he posts the powerpoints on Canvas so you can go back and review. He is a super fun guy. He gives quizzes every now and then that arent hard. He allows you to have two pages of notes for tests. I would take his class again!
Fairly easy class, just grades off of a few weekly quizzes (that you can retake) and 3 exams (that you can also retake). The exams are pretty difficult and require a lot of studying and prep, but doing well on weekly quizzes will bring your grade back up! Overall it was an okay class, about what I expected!
I loved this class! There are class activities every class, which help further your knowledge of the material. Make sure you study for the exams you are allowed some notes for the exams, so make sure you complete those.
I loved this class so much! There are class activities every class, which help further your knowledge of the material. Make sure you study for the exams you are allowed some notes for the exams, so make sure you complete those.
This class is pretty difficult, but professor Lazarte is pretty funny.
Hes fine. Thats literally all I can say. If you need him to answer and email, he wont. You have to go in person for him to talk to you BUT if you forget to take a quiz (theres like 20) he will open them for you again. I didnt know we could have 2 pages of notes per test so whoops. He is hard to understand because of his accent.
Dr. Lazarte is caring, but very scattered. Classes always run over, so dont schedule this class right before another. Attendance is graded at the end of every class, and the in class (usually group) assignments are easy, assuming he's left enough time to do them. Exams are average, and you can bring a couple pages of notes. Overall, it's okay.
This class is fairly easy but you will not be able to understand a word he says.
To preface: Dr. Lazarte was always very kind. However, he was IMPOSSIBLE to get in contact with outside of class. All helpful communication came and went through the TA. This class is VERY difficult, but he kind of expects everyone to be at his level when teaching. He makes his own exams, so they are SO HARD. If you can take another prof, do it.
Lazarte is SO well educated that he expects students to pick up very difficult material in a matter of minutes. He literally wrote the textbook used for the class. He is very smart and enjoyable to be around but this class is very difficult.
Lazarte is so funny. His class is not an easy A but once you get used to the classroom and test format you should be fine. He provides study guides for each test that are VERY similar to the actual test. There are multiple assignments to do out of class but they arent hard! I would recommend him for this class but be prepared to put in effort!!
Dr. Lazarte is a great professor and really cares about his students. Psyc 2130 is a difficult math based class, and since its required of the psychology major he tries to make it as easy as possible. There's lots of homework but its all pretty straight forward. I wouldn't take again just because I don't like the material.
Dr. Lazarte did his best to make this an interesting and relevant class. No problems whatsoever with his teaching. The class itself can be tedious and difficult to understand, but homework doesn't take too long and he gives study guides almost identical to the exams. You're also allowed a notes page for exams.
He is awesome!! Cares so much for his students. Some excel he doesn't know how to teach for Macs, but always tries and you can usually figure it out. His tests an in-class MCQ part and a take-home excel part - very similar to the study guide he posts so study those for sure. Honestly can't recommend him enough. Fairly easy course and very kind man.
Lazarate explains statistics well and is the best instructor. I learned so much! Lots of homework but multiple tries for an A. Listen to the lectures and do assignments on a regimented schedule 3 x per week as well as his practice tests and videos you can do well. The exam terminology confused me but the excel parts helped my grade.
This class is difficult and I don't know anything. Lecture is not helpful and confuses me more. There are helpful practice tests and explanations videos but the tests aren't super similar to them. It's an overload of information. He reads verbatim from the slides and nothing is explained. He also has a heavy accent that makes it even harder.
He's a little hard to understand sometimes and just reads directly off of the slides for lectures. Although class isn't mandatory, there are participation points every day that can boost your grade. Three tests total, including the final.
He teaches AT you, not to you. If you're willing to go home and learn it yourself his class isn't hard. If you're like me and have hearing issues, his accent is a little hard to overcome. If you already have Microsoft Excel experience this is an easy class.
I adore this sweet man, but I did not enjoy his class at all. I learned how to use Excel through the practice in class and through the homework assignments (there's a lot of them), but I did not learn a thing about the theory or math through the lectures. Super boring and hard to follow. Still, I got an A. You'll be bored/confused but you can pass.
Sweet man, but I did not learn anything from this class. Could not understand him through thick accent. I taught myself and we used cheat sheets on exams. The class was ok until an exam was held and everyone is freaking out. I think the stress from this class may have taken a few years off my life.
The lectures are not helpful and you have to teach yourself majority of the content including how to use EXCEL.
He's a kind professor, but other than that, I would not recommend him. I haven't learned anything from him and have had to teach myself everything outside of class. He basically just reads off the slides (that don't make sense.)
Very sweet professor and very understanding, especially for a difficult subject. Doable class if you do the in-class activities that he does at the end of lectures, and the homework. Also, his textbook does a good job explaining the excel portion. Overall, pay attention to his notes and his activities and you can always go to him for help as well.
just terrible! incredibly difficult class and not understanding professor!! would not recommend
I was scared coming in because of some reviews of this professor, but if you just put in the effort you can get a good grade. I could've ended with an A if I tried for the final exam, but I barely studied tbh. He literally posts a 98% match to the real exam before the test date to review. He's lowkey funny too if you just listen to him sometimes.
He is very funny and nice. His lectures are kind of hard to sit through. The material can be challenging at times, but it is not impossible. There are opportunities to help your grade if you do not do well on the test.
He is so bad! His lectures are a rambling mess, and then his tests are over things that we hardly talked about in class. It's ridiculous! He never ends on time, is unclear about what is on the tests, and I never know what's going on. Then we're required to go to class to keep our grade up, but it's a massive waste of time. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS.
If you actually want to learn don't take him. His lectures are just him rambling and mumbling although he is very sweet and tries to be funny. Attendance is mandatory through a code. Exams are online but in class and he gives you a full piece of paper for whatever you need to write down to help you.
Do not take him if you don't have to. your attendance is the biggest grade but he doesn't check his email so if you are sick he doesn't excuse you. exams are easy and you get a cheat sheet. leactures are painful to sit through.
There are only three tests and they are 60% of you grade. You will not understand a word he says and participation is mandatory. He lets class out late every single day. The homeworks are extremely easy and you get a cheat sheet on each test
After reading reviews- decided to take online. It was equally as difficult. Lots of assignments each week and long tests. Has a very strong accent and definitely doesn't fully understand emails. I sent him one email and he responded with something totally unrelated. Tests are 50 questions and then there is also an excel part. Would not take again.
Mandatory class that I didn't love, but he is a thorough teacher. Hard subject but he is pragmatic in his teaching method and if you take the time to follow along you will do fine. Very compitent.
Easy if you take online
Attendance is mandatory bc it counts for a grade. Lets class out late every time. Hard to understand and doesn't respond to emails. Exams are tricky for no reason; you're allowed a cheat sheet although it doesn't help much.
