the best professor I have had

This is a great professor, he loves teaching students about reading and writing. He is always offering to help, even when you have already finished the course. Considering how young he is I think he's a very very very good professor. I'm going to miss his class.

he's overall a good teacher. nothing out of htis world. He has different approaches to his assignments. Also he has recently started some type of community service assignments which i luckily didn't have to do but from what i've heard it's pretty pointless. BEWARE OoOoOo

Good, fair, and very helpful. Loves controversy and getting the class to argue. Will definitely boost your grade up if you participate, he loves participation. He likes to do the silly service learning thing, worthless in my opinion

WHAT? How can people say he was bad? HE IS NOT! he was an awesome teacher! He helped me in any way possible,EXTREMELY understanding, n very leniant but obviously to the people who try. If your looking for a easy ride n not put your part then of course you wont like him but if ur looking to learn n have fun with creative ideas then youll like him!

Well I disagree with all those who have talked bad about him. HE IS AWESOME!! A great Teacher! He knows what he is doing and the students can actually learn a lot with him. I mean I did. He IS very estrict when it comes to grading, but he gives you a lot of opportunities to turn in the work and to get extra credit. His clases are not boring AT ALL!

he is really cool guy and he gives you a lot of time to return the essays but he gives you point for everything you can't even imagine, the freewriting, brainstorms and every detail that you are suppouse to have ready for the essay, if you don't you would loose 10 point for each one.it is hard to get an A with him

You really gotta want to the three credits. He's a tough grader, requires service learning hours and works you intil the last minute of class. On the upside, he's hot and seems like a cool guy.

His grading is horrible. I always felt like i tried my best and he never seemed to give me the grade i deserved. But as a teacher he can be intersting because he makes you participate and that makes the class fun. He mixes different subjects that relate to literature that will make you apreciate the time in class.

great profesor...i couldn't say the best ever but he is really nice even though he didn't seem to be so nice while grading the papers. i got a B on the class, not bad, but i deserved better than that.

Look, great teacher he knows what he is doing, not a hard class if you do all the work. Only thing I didnt like is the community hours "Mandatory"; we already pass that in hs, but well a nice experience.

He is great. He not only teach about the subject of the course but he helps you understand general life situations. I love the service learning hours we had to do, for me it was a great experience and he is an amazing teacher that has a lot to offer.

He is great! The service learning we had to do was very interesting. Everybody loves this class. He is an excellent teacher. You can stop by his office and talk to him if you have any problem, he is very open. I highly recommend this class.

This teacher is great. Laid back class. Make sure you dont slack off with your homeworks or essays because he gives you a progress report at the end of the semester and you will have a big surprise if you didnt complete the majority of your work. I agree with other students that he does not grade the essays very well but he gives you good ideas.

He's a great professor and very laid back. he's one of the few you can actually feel comfortable getting to know on a more personal level. he is extremely helpful and he'll talk with you in his office at almost any time. i also recommend this class

Alex is awesome! hes fun & understanding & everyone gets an A. I have him for Honors so its a little diff but im sure all his classes are the same. W/him the class is more than just english, its a quest to open your mind to new ideas & discover things about yourself & develop opinions about diff things in the world. &he's hot:) highly recommend!!

Best professor ever. His doesn't feel like a class at all is more like a discussion where your allowed to express your mind freely. He is a little tricky with the grades of the essays but as long as it is good and he sees that your making progress you will get the A. I can honestly says that he is the best English teacher in MDC.

Prof. Alejandro Salinas is an excellent professor. He is passionate about teaching his students. He makes the classes quite interesting. He allows the student to explore community service and learn that one is not the center of the universe. He makes us aware as to how fortunate we are to be able to have an education. Loved this class!

Great professor! He is very understanding and takes a genuine interest in the students. His assignments really get you into literature, at least it did so for me and I'm not big on the subject. As long as you make an honest effort you should be fine.

This is the best professor you will ever have ...I was afraid of taking the writing class since the very beginning because english is my second language and sometimes i can't find the words to write but he made the class so interesting and the writing progress so easy that i would take him again...

One of the greatest teachers I have ever had. A person who truly takes an interest in you and your work. Allows for a good sense of humor in class as long as you get it done.

BEST TEACHER EVER!! Super Awesome And u learn alot

He is okay, except he doesn't give A's only B's. It sucks if you're like me and you try really hard the whole term just to end up with less than you deserve.

Although many of you find him "attractive", his grading policy is not. I earned a "91" in his overall grade, for which he gave me a "B". Do u think that's fair? If you think this is as easy course, think again. Avoid him cuz of him, my GPA came down. But don't me wrong, he is very resourceful. Just watch out with your essays!!!

What can i say about this dude; I only have 350 characters lol. Anyway, Alejandro is very helpful and even though people tend to say his class is hard, IT IS NOT! Do the 4 essays, 10-point h/ws, and min./8 community service hours and you're set. He will help you to the CORE but you must do your work. He doesn't care about grades; he cares u learn!

Let me tell u this prof. was ONE OF MY BEST.. i learned so much about myself and my writing... service learning an was amazing experience for me... I got an A but i worked hard for it... Come on people its clear if u don't work hard for your grade and attend class your grade will be affected... He is the best PROF!!!!!! its privilege to have him..

Salinas has had a really big impact on my girlfriend and I. We both have taken him and he has really improved our writing. If you are willing to learn and work, it is an easy class to pass. There IS a lot of work though, but Salinas is always availible after class if you need help. Cares a lot about his students if they care about his course.

VERY GOOOOOOOD PROF. tough grader, but really helps you see your writing mistakes and shows you how you can improve really good person cares that you learn. Cant believe some people here dont like him. makes class really interesting. best class ive taken so far.

Salinas, he is a great proffesor. You really need to write a lot in this class but as long as you do your work, you will get an easy grade in his class. He is very flexible in turning assigments. I should recommended to take his class.

He is such a nice professor and a great human being, he truly cares about his students and gives a lot opportunities for extra credit. He is one of the best professors at MDC and I plan to register more classes with him and please do not pay attention to negatives comments. He is just mesmerizing.

Nice guy, but when it comes grading he is difficult & complicated. An A is a 94 and above. I've heard from tutors & students that he's very stingy when it comes to giving A's. You can do all the extra credit he gives, but more than likely, you'll end up with a B, like me! My papers were revised by editors & he always gave me a B! So frustrating!!!

This is one of the best classes that I've ever had in my life. The professor is amazing. He makes this class very interesting and he is very helpful. He give alot of chances and extra credit work to help you pass the class. I definately recommend him 100%. I wish thre was more professors like him around.

Do not pay attention to negative comments. This guy is amazing, he knows how to teach and his class is really entertaining. He gives you a lot of chances to turn in the assignments. This is the second semester in a row that I take him. Take him, you won't regret it.

It is true he is a nice guy, but if you are taking more than a class; I dont recommend him because he gives a lot of essays and 8 hours of civic engagement. He thinks that we have time for everything. If you take him it is your responsability.

He's not a bad teacher,he explains things well but he has high expectations. there's no book,but it's a special class,it gives you community service hours. There's a lot of assignments,he uses Google+ a lot for the assignments which is a lot of work. There's 2 major research papers,and the rest are small assignments.

The class is extremely unique, under the class description it says it is based on the TV series "Lost" but do not be mistaken, there is no movie time in class. The class is about analyzing and reflecting the psychology more than plot. You are going to learn a lot and you will have to watch the show for homework along with doing more analytic work

One professor who doesn't make you spend ridiculous amount of money for class and is genuinely interested in your education. A diamond in the rough. Extremely good and constructive class for anyone pursuing any type of writing career.

I took ENC1101 last year with Professor Salinas and he is the best English professor in InterAmerican Campus. He's always there when you need help, sometimes staying after class to help you with an essay or assignment. The class is a lot of fun and even if English isn't your strongest subject, Salinas never gives up on helping his students.

I wish he taught every single subject. He's the absolute best!

Best Prof. I got. Class is not easy but he makes it easy. (if that makes sense) He knows that we are just developing our college level writing skills and he grades you accordingly. Lots of group discussion and participation is required. 2 long essays and a few short essays no quizzes or test. If you're not a good writer and hate writing TAKE HIM

This class is all about participation and public speaking, it is based on the TV series LOST. we played games and analyzed the show as well as the characters. It helped me a lot with public speaking, he creates a safe and comfortable environment for us to communicate. I loved this class, and made some good friends!

Professor Salinas is one of the best professors in the Interamerican Campus, if not the best. He goes out of his way to help his students & ensures that the class is far from boring. He is so intellectual, you will learn so much from him. He is an overall amazing person! Whatever he can do to help someone, he will do. The class is not hard at all!

Professor Salinas is a great professor. He strives to challenge the students and treats every student with respect. Since it is college he grades everything on a college level writing or speech. His class is very insightful. You won't need a book just a Netflix account for watching LOST. There are presentations including a group presentation.

Professor Salinas is great! No textbook required. There are 2 major essays and several responses. He is willing to help you with your essay if you plan a meeting with him. His class has PLTL sessions. PLTL is student lead groups which could be fun if EVERYONE PARTICIPATES! The class is a GSELS course(look it up)! He makes it very interesting!!

I have taken professor Salinas for 3 courses and he is also my CM. He's a great human being and is very understanding towards his students. All the class lectures are interesting and fun to participate in. I recommend him to everyone. HE IS T H E BEST PROF EVER!

This teacher made ENC1101 and ENC1102 so easy. His lectures are based on real world problems that students can talk about in their papers. He has peer leaders that help you with your ideas and work with your papers. I can say that I always enjoyed going to his classes. I would 100% recommend you take him. You won't regret it. BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!
