i took her in summer school, and she was pretty easy, she was really helpful, and did explain everything and made sure everyone understood. im taking her again for 103, and the only thing that anyone might have problems on is the test or quizzes. but its not hard to lose focus cuz shes way cool.

She was not only the best English teacher I ever had, but the BEST teacher I have ever had. She was so passionate about the material and made it fun. She is so helpful when it came to the essays. Just make sure to do your readings for quizzes. Very fun and had awsome clothes!!!!

She is overall my favorite teacher at COC! Extremely helpful and comfortable to talk to. Her analyzation skills will be a suprise to anyone interested in critical thinking/writing. She changes the way you see the world! (in a good way). Take her class at least once in your lifetime. Beautiful.

This is without a doubt the most amazing professor I have ever had. Her passion for the work she does is so infectious, and she is definitely an inspiration to her students. The class is designed to make you work and think critically, but believe me...you'll be so happy and thankful that you had the chance to learn from this amazing woman.

I've taken 3 of Alene's classes and loved each one. She is by far, the best teacher at COC, and possibly the best teacher I've ever had.

she is the coolest, youngest teacher here. knows whats up in fashion and pop culture. she is somewhat of a challenge when it comes to writing papers but if you get help from her, she will tell you exactly what to work on. I really enjoyed the class.oh and i love her shoes!!!!

she was so helpful and understanding, she never made fun of anyone ar put them down even when they asked stupid questions.

I love Alene! She is ALWAYS willing to help and the class is so much fun! She is by far the best teacher I've ever had. She's hilarious but the essays are hard. If you set up an appointment with her during her office hours, she'll tell you exactly what she wants in your essay. There are quizzes, but she tells you about them ahead of time. LOVE HER!

Terzian is so awesome! I actually don't mind going to her class. She grades kind of hard, but she is super helpful. She cares for her students and jokes around with them all the time. Class discussions are fun, and she's not bad looking either.

Awww. Alene Terzian is GREAT. I think shes Armenian. She literally taught me everything I didn't learn in high school, and more. Shes wonderful and funny. There should be no reason why you shouldn't take her class.

Alene is very helpful and sweet to everyone. Her priority is her students and she is willing to work with them on assignments. This class is super easy! All you have to do is show up and you'll pass. Remember it is a pass/no pass class. You do have to do a lot of annotating...but its easy.

This is a film and literature course and I have never had such a hard time writing an A paper. I don't know about her other classes but she's a really tough essay grader

She is so tight...her class is fun, she has a sense of humor, and she really cares about you learning......oh ya she is hot.

Alene is a rarity amongst the many senile and dull professors that teach at COC. She is passionate and extremely helpful to her students. She can be tough, but after all, this is college and nobody said it was going to be easy. I highly recommend taking her class, it will change you.

She was the BESt English Teacher Ive ever had. Her class was really interesting and fun, I didnt miss a class. We discussed and wrote about pop culture. We used semotics to analyze Simpsons , Enminem and I want a famous face. IN the beginning of class you gossip about the lastest in pop culture and how it relates to the class. I love her!

Ms. Terzian is the best teacher @ COC! her class is a challenge, but its definately worth it. You learn so much about pop culture and adverti****ts and the semiotics of it. She's a wonderful teacher. Excellent teacher. Loves group work. A "think outside the box type" that you'd see at a liberal university. Writing is an ESSENTIAL part of this course; you'll get an A if you listen to her critiques on the essays. Gives graded worksheets on random days; attendance is a must. You're never bored. Interesting, helpful, and smart.

Love this class. Take it. She is a very sweet woman who would overthrow the US government if she could. You read good books, watch good movies, and have good convos. I am really glad I took film and lit with her.

Very easy. I forgot my english skills back in h.s. I still had about 102% in her class. She offers extra credit if you don't meet her passing goal. There should be no reason for you not to pass her class if you do the work.

Her class was unlike any other. It requires creativity and dedication to the project. Expect time outside of class. The only trouble is how unorganized the class is. It was difficult to attend all the events due to work, and the event dates often changed. This class is more like publisher training but I 'll never forget the experience.

Awesome teacher, she lets the students run the class. It's a creative class with a rewarding outcome. Was a new class so there were some kinks but it all worked out. Make sure you have time to dedicate outside of class time. You only receive a low grade if you don't participate/contribute so don't be bitter about it, you control your own actions.

This professor becomes rather annoying after the first few weeks of class. I feel like all of the novels that were required to read had certain liberal agenda, except Fight Club. Do not take this class if you don't want to hear sarcastic remarks about the U.S. government and consumerism everyday. This teacher tries to hard to be an intellectual.

Great teacher! She really understands hers students and their situations. She is extremely helpful. If you dont get anything she will make sure that you do. Do her assigned word and you'll pass fersure.

Alene is an amazing teacher, and made me enjoy English, where before I absolutely dreading writing. She has her opinions, but she is open to hearing what her student's have to say and encourages everyone to talk and discuss various issues. Alene sets the bar, as far as what a college proffesor should be like. Intelligent, approachable, and insightful. She was instrumental in my becoming a lover of literature and poetry. She made it my agenda to learn these crafts, if I was ever going to get a girl half as cool as her! No joke.

And in response to some of your comments, she is an intellectual; she doesn't have to try. By the way, if she expresses her opinions in class, she has every right to. She studied her butt off and became a Professor.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. She outlines the fundamentals of each genre very clearly. To succeed in this class, you need to 1) give thoughtful, constructive, and copious feedback on your group members' work, 2) make thoughtful changes from your rough to final drafts, and 3) do your best to incorporate genre elements into your writing.

Alene is an amazing professor. She has high expectations, which is great. The books selected were excellent. This was a 3 hour class that flew by. The classroom discussion was superb and very intellectual. I am so thankful, because of Alene, I learned how to construct a great paper.

Professor Terzian is one of the best professors I've ever had. Her constructive criticism and compliments motivate you to try hard and she really helps you improve your writing. Having said that, this class was challenging and had a lot of work. But if you are willing to work hard, I would definitely reccomend taking this class!

I am so glad I took English 101 over summer with Prof Terzian. The work load was big, as expected but it was not overkill. She gave feedback on everything that was submitted and it was it especially helpful with the essays. Definitely take her if you have the chance!!

Terzian taught for a semester at Moorpark College in 2001 & she literally changed my life. I credit her for helping me define my interests & for helping me to explore my personal writing. She shared some of her own personal poetry with me towards the end of the semester & I still have it today. She is an amazing person & I will always remember her.

She's so funny. Does rough outlines for essays to show us how to organize paragraphsthesis statements depending on topics. Good criticism on essays. Not super easy grader expects quality analysis. If you get high B's on essays, go to every class, do all easy hw, finish rough drafts, do extra credit, & study for easy reading quizzes you'll get an A

I took a short term English class online with Prof. Terzian, and at first I was kind of intimidated by the course load. However, this was one of my favorite classes I've ever taken. The course load was totally reasonable and her feedback on rough draftsessays was always SO helpful. Couldn't say anything but good things about her! Take this class!

I had the pleasure of taking Professor Terzian's online English 101 class this summer. I recommend this class, but be ready to not always receive responds back through email. Also this teacher is a VERY tough grader on essays. I only recommend this class to students who can take strong criticism and don't mind their feelings being hurt.

I had professor Terzian for my fall course and she was the best teacher I have ever had. She does a really good job at teaching, she's a fair grader, and she overall cares about your success. I definitely recommend her to anyone. I'm not really a good writer but I have improved so much since I have taken her class. She's amazing!

If you have weak writing skills I would suggest the class below this. Professor Terzian doesn't hammer you on weekly post, but on the three essay's she digs deep and expects solid work. Overall i liked this class and feel like it has helped my writing ten-fold. I would recommend this class to anyone who is self motivated and willing to work hard.

Alene was my favorite teacher through out my whole semester of classes. I took her ENGL-135 class, Literature and Film class. It was extremely interesting & it caused me to look at movies/books in a more analytic way. Be prepared to READ a lot in this class. I remember skipping one class and it totally threw off my grade; so attendance is a must.

Don't be intimidated by poetry, regardless of your experience. This class and professor will allow you to open your eyes to new ideas and feed off the people in the room. I would just like to mention to make sure you work on the portfolio and don't leave it till last minute. Also, work with the people in your class. Everyone is so creative.

Lit Mag class is cool! Everything is democratic; Prof Terzian guides, and the students make all of the choices. You will learn about yourself, and you will learn how to work with others. And you'll have a really cool teacher to help you. Do the work, and you'll get an A.

Took her for English 101, and the class is pretty much a free A. Her class consists of you doing discussion boards, journals, and essays. 4 essays in the semester, all very easy to get a good grade on since she gives back a ton of feedback on your rough drafts. Very easy and managable class.

She is amazing. The class was not an easy A but I feel like she has set me up for success in my college writing. She gives a ton of feedback, pushes you out of your comfort zone and makes you better. Highly recommend. Be prepared to work for your A but you'll be glad you did.

Professor Terzian-Zeitounian is a very caring professor and always went out of her way to provide great feedback. I finished with a C in the class but entirely because of my own lack of motivation and failure to put in effort. She genuinely cares about her students doing well in class and their mental health. Highly recommend!

Professor Terzian made me fall in love with poetry all over again. We learned so much about strengthening our work through revisions and workshops. Her detailed feedback and genuine support was touching. This class felt like a family, and she made it a safe space for us. If you are even slightly interested in poetry, this class is for you!

Professor Terzian-Zeitounian was by far one of the best instructors I've ever taken in my life. Her instructions are clear, and she provides amazing feedback on assignments, and is overall very accommodating and caring towards her students. The workload can be heavy, but she is willing to work around deadlines to help you succeed. Take her class!

Alene's Lit Mag course is amazing. You get university level experience at a community college! She's a kind and caring prof. Grades are based on participation. Don't take this course if you want to sit and do nothing! If you're artistic minded or love writing, just take it! It's so fun and looks great on a resume. Plus you meet lots of cool people.
