His lectures are interesting because he is passionate about the subject but don't expect to do well based on that. He gives around 80 ids to learn per test and if you do not use the exact words and make the exact points he wants you won't get credit and same with the essays. I'm a great student, I studied a lot, and I still got a B. Don't take him.

Very hard to understand. He's passionate about the class, but lectures are very heavy, & so are his tests. They cover a broad amount of information as there's only a midterm & final, which is your whole grade. Gives study guides, with 80 very dense topics and randomly picks 12 for the test, along with 8 possible essays and picks 4. Brogi is tough!

He is a funny teacher, but his grading scale is not fair or accurate. Do not take this class if you are looking for an A. There are plenty of other professors that will have easier history courses.

HIST 4773 is a very difficult class. It requires a great deal of reading and a lot of time on your own rehashing the material and studying. However, it is COMPLETELY possible to end with an A. You must give it your absolute best effort though. I started with a C and ended with an A, and I'm not even a History Major. You can do it!

Warning: Graduate Level Class! A ton of reading. Not your typical text book reading, either. Grading consists of 2 papers + 2 exams. Nothing else. Lecture heavy from PowerPoint.

Brogi is a fantastic professor. I have taken two of his classes. He grades relatively easily and is an all around nice guy. He is somewhat goofy but entertaining. If you are looking for a class you will enjoy going to choose one of his.

I took this class as a intercession, so it is set up differently, however, Professor Brogi was very helpful throughout the class. His lectures were very entertaining and kept my attention for 4 hours at a time. You will be able to make an easy A if you are able to form a complete thought on paper.

Probably one of the best professors I have had. Super caring and VERY knowledgeable of his stuff. You only have 2 short papers and 1 long one, and 2 take home exams. Very silly guy and he really loves his students. He posts his slideshows before class so you can copy and paste them into your notes, then just focus on writing what he says.

I loved Dr. Brogi and I would recommend him to anyone! He is very respectful to students and passionate about the courses he teaches. He is very easy to reach out to via email or talk to after class. Make sure you take good notes and read. Lectures are heavy and there are few assignments, so always be able to answer where, who, why, when, and how!

Ur only grade in the class is 2 tests & 2 essays. I took modern italy & I had no history background so I struggled in this class. The teacher is so knowledgeable & passionate that he moves so fast & doesn't "dumb down" info. The class is very accelerated. The teacher is nice tho! He isn't a tough grader & tests are open note (they take 3 hrs tho)!

While funny, Brogi is also quite analytical, and his intellectual scope is amazing. Lecture mode, but he expects participation based on presentation or assigned readings (which are kept moderate in length). Two papers, two exams. I just got some research advice from him (off semester!). Will take another class.

LOTS of reading. quizzes every thursday on black board, but you can look up the questions. The quizzes are only open for a short amount of time, so if you plan to skip class make sure to get on for the quiz. He drops your lowest quiz. All exams are take home, but they are lengthy. He is very knowledgeable, so the lectures are hard to follow.

Prof Brogi was an amazing prof! His lectures can be really heavy, but they are so interesting. This class is not the easiest A, but it feels rewarding to even get a B. He is really knowledgeable and willing to help in whatever way he can. Try to talk to him outside of class - he's really a great guy!
