very unhappy w/this prof.extrememly unfair. I had taken a test when I got the test back my short essay quest. were all wrong, when they were right.Took the text & test to him & showed him that they were right and he said no.I couldnt believe him. DONT TAKE
Great teacher, always available for questions and help. Fair, honest and dedicated instructor.
This class is very easy if you show up and take notes. He is the sweetest guy and really helps his students. He is the easiest of all the science teachers.
Hes awesome
I am a pretty dedicated student and still have a hard time with him. I sometimes feel like he enjoys making the students feel stupid. It is pretty frustrating.
I didn't take him for lecture, but his lab is easy. Go to class, do the lab, he'll give you 10 points for the lab, and then you just have to remember what you did in the labs in order to pass the tests. We get to leave early from class most days.
This was a lot of work for a one unit class. The tests were not clear and the material could have been presented better. If you have not taken or are not taking the lecture class, DO NOT take his lab class. He can be quite condescending, enven if unintended.
I heard he really cared about students, but he didn't act that way with our class. He would never answer questions about the exam even if you were just trying to understand the material better (not challenging the grade). He seemed to want people to do poorly and got upset when the class did well.
That's why we call him "Easy A"!!
He is an alright teacher and pretty easy on grades but he won't hesitate to make you feel stupid for asking a question. Sometimes he acts like you are taking away from his time for asking a question about the way something should be done and tell you to figure it out yourself.
Alex is a great guy, very nice. Super serious about Geology and has a ton of information. The problem is that he talks a bit above the intellect of the average student. His PhD credentials compliment is level of understanding, but I feel that he talks above the scope of the coursework at times. Heavy labs for only one unit. Take Holly Dodson.
Tough instructor. He sometimes forgets that his students are not Phd's like he is. Great teacher for Geology major's and a nightmare for someone just trying to meet a science req. Assigns a lot of work for a one unit course and blows through it so fast it's hard to fully comprehend. You'll work your butt off for a B.
This class should be easy but having to listen to him makes you want to pull your hair out! If you get behind or dont understand something, good luck, he will make you want to drop just so you dont feel dumb asking him a question! The material is easy... it would be interesting... I just couldn't stand him!!!!!!
Alex does a great job. His tests are hard but you learn a lot and he grades fairly. Do the extra credit and get a B on all your tests and you get an A in the course. Lots of work for one unit. Alex is real cool and he'll help you out any time.
Grades his labs for completness not correctness since he gives the key to every lab. The tests are really tough, so know your stuff. Not a cumlitive final thank God. Alex is a super nice guy with a lot of good information, you'll learn a lot. Holly is still the best teacher in the dept...
He didn't teach at all so you really had to know what he was talking about from your lecture class. he never made us stay the full three hours for lab. the labs weren't easy but he always had a key for each lab that you could copy so even if you didn't understand how to do it you could still turn in a finsihed lab and get full points.
Nice teacher but test are wordy and appear like they are meant to trick the students. Lectures were helpful however I studied my butt off for the test and failed miserably along with most of the 10 students that didn't drop after the first nightmare test. NON-SCIENCE MAJORS BEWARE!!
i was so looking forward to taking geology and so disappointed in my teacher. my major is natural science and i've taken everything sierra has to offer, passed all with a's and b's but somehow manage to get an f in his class. funny, i learned the same material in other classes but my test answers never made him happy---he sucks!!
His tests are a mystery wrapped inside an engima hidden under a riddle. I studied and was lucky to get a C. If I had dedicated my life to this one class I might have pulled a B. I like him, but he acts as if the info is a cinch, even though ESP would help to understand what he expects. Easy quizzes, crazy hard exams. No review. Careful!
If you show interest he'll be much more receptive. If you're not organized choose another instructor, because he doesn't baby the class AT ALL. If you are not following the syllabus, ouch! He won't remind you that a paper's due or it's time to turn in the log. "Easy A Amigo"? More like, "Personal Responsibility Amigo"!
Amigo does not like being questioned or challenged at all, he gets very flustered & defensive which typically results in a response such as "I don't have time for this". My words of advice, find another earth science instructor.
Great teacher. Really likes to help his students, but only if they ask and try hard. Will really work hard for his students. Tests are tough but the class is very interesting.
Oh Dr. Amigo... Interesting character. He speak a bit like some guy from zoolander or something. I thought he was a great teacher. I do admit he does have an air of arrogance to him though, unless you show genuine interest. he offers extra credit and is extremely clear in his lectures. I didnt want to take the class at frist but im glad i did
Alex is one of those teachers who thinks he's always right. Even when you point out something he did wrong, he still won't admit it. He lets you use notes during the test but he requires an explanation for how an answer was determined. Even if your answer is right, if he doesn't like your explanation, you'll get it wrong. Don't bother!
He is not open to discussion or questions. I don't have time is his favorite expression. Also I agree if y ou have a right answer different from his YOUR WRONG
Goes over everything and then goes over it again. Makes sure you learn stuff. Repetativeness a little annoying but makes life easy. Open not and take home tests
A lot of work. There are 4 tests (50 multiple choice, 3 short ans., 1 essay), 3 assignments, 3 quizzes, 3 reports and 3 essays. Bonus points every day you go to class. Goes over material very well making it easy to get an A. Makes it easy when you go everyday. Need blackboard access (quizzes and tests taken online (open everything:) Fair grader.
Worst teacher! worst class! Do not take this teacher if you can help it. He is extremely hard and impossible to please. I failed on all essays and his feedback never helped me do better. Homework all the time, tons of reading. Yet, none of it will prepare you for the homework or tests. He pulls questions from nowhere to test you on.
His tests and quizzes were very difficult to understand and the assigned reading pages did not go through all of the material that we needed to know. He is strict, but at least he lets us work at our own pace. Not a lot of homework... Just a ton of studying.
I was excited to take Hist Geo, but after taking his class, he defiantly is a horrible teacher. For labs he just gives you the hand outs and reads whats on his handout then lets you do the work. His attitude towards teaching seems like he is in it just cause its a job not because he likes it.
Overall, the worst professor I've had at Sierra College. He's arrogant and condescending. I never got the impression he wanted us to learn, but more so to prove how smart he thought he was. His comments on my papers were sarcastic. I do not recommend taking his classes, unless you want to spend your time frustrated and confused.
This guy locked me out of class when I went to use the restroom.....I do not like him. (It wasn't even during a test...)
Dr. Amigo was a great Professor I thought. I liked that I was held accountable for my own education. He does not baby his students, I felt we were expected to be responsible for how much we chose to get out of his lectures. I enjoyed that his lectures were relevent and that we applied what was taught. I loved his teaching so much I am taking ES1
Awful.
Took online class from him. Do NOT expect him to send reminders of assignments or tests due, you need to check Blackboard and follow the syllabus. More interested in concepts. Only complaint is no real study guide for tests.
Not a happy man...
Very important to show up for this lab class since tests are from covered labs. No book. For the rock, and minerals I suggest staying after to really familiarize yourself with samples. Labs are sometimes unclear at first, but once your get going its easy. No homework.
this teacher was very difficult to understand as far as what would be on tests he never made it clear. he left a lot of the learning in the class up to to the students! he gave a wide range of sources, students where never sure where the information would come from. not a Good teacher!
stay on top of the exams, some stuff he gets from there without saying anything
He is a cool teacher. The class was very intriguing and his stlye of teaching keeps you interested. My only complant is that there was no study guide or form of preparing for test.
difficult to understand at times. taught in a completely different order than the lab. would prioritize lectures then test on other subjects not covered as much in readings or lectures. Not lenient when a student missed an exam, even in emergencies no way to make them up.
Dr. Amigo's tests require you to be able to explain the material as if you were teaching it. He raises your grade one whole letter for completing all in class extra credit assignments. If you can explain all the key terms on his ppt's, you'll do fine on the exams. His sketches are helpful, and he completely answers all questions. It's really on you
He is arrogant, condescending, inaudable and mean. He may love his subject but not his students. He is there to show off, not teach. I tried to get help and he not only ignored me, but degraded me. I was deeply hurt by his comments. His tests make no sense, there is no way to study for them and he is boring. DON'T TAKE, maybe they'll fire him!
*ignore slackers comments* Alex is very helpful and quite clear. There ARE study guides, called NOTES people. A couple of the tests require more studying than others because there are a lot of terms to know. I recommend him. I actually like science now.
when he lectures, he is very difficult to understand. His lectures are incomprehensible. Furthermore, his tests have nothing to do with the book or the lectures half of the time. He is very particular in how he wants things answered and it is practically unachievable. If you don't show up, you can not make things up.
Yes, he has a slight air of condescension and he does tend to point out others' flaws in logic, but overall he's a good teacher. He knows his stuff and his class is structured simply. Be prepared to take responsibility for your own work - you ARE in college - and his voice makes you sleepy. If you need help, ask for it. He's happy to help.
he tells you to read 40 pages out of the textbook, then gives you 2 random questions from that reading, and that is like half of your grade. the other half is based on a very difficult scientific report that half the class failed. his class would be a lot better if he taught the chapter before he quizzed studentson the material, instead of after.
Ifeel like I put alot of effort into the class to earn a C.His teaching style is really hard to understand, Yes he has powerpoints and lecture to read & he goes over them word for word. A huge% of your grade i exams, and there isnt any homework, so its all based on test taking skills.Answrs to the exam qs have to be exact word for wordor its wrong!
He is not there to teach -- just show off his knowledge in a condescending manner. Guy, you need to LOWER YOUR STANDAEDS. It's not called a COMMUNITY college for nothing. SC needs to revamp their teachers because they are not getting my support and I definitely do not recommend them to others.
I took his esci 10 class, and now I am in his esci 3 class. He is one of my most favorite teachers at Sierra. He has a masters in teaching, and he knows what he is doing. His tests are straight-forward. The questions are taken straight from lecture notes, which he gives you, and if most people miss a question he gives everyone credit for it.
He is not condescending in any way. He cares about his students and is flexible with his teaching BASED on each class.
Great teacher. Need to put in the effort and make sure to ask questions as they arise. Come to class it isn't hard to to get a B or even A if you do.
A great online instructor! If you read the lectures and the assigned book chapters then the quizzes and exams aren't difficult. Dr Amigo gives plenty of direction regarding expectations on reports and written exam questions, as well as providing helpful feedback on student answers. He obviously enjoys teaching this subject.
He is awful. Insists you use his private email address, never accepts late work, no make-ups, and his tests are ridiculous. This guy is nuts for a basic intro class.
I love professor Amigo! His lectures are organized and easy to understand. He is not a very hard grader. Yes, there is no homework so your grade is based of tests and..what EXTRA CREDIT. just for being in class. Show up and you will do fine. If everyone misses something on a test he gives everyone points for it.
I hate the way this guy grades! Online class is horrible. You feel like if you ask him anything he can't give you the time of day and if you don't agree with his grading then you are argumentative! He gives you tricky questions for the short questions and gives you 0 points if you don't answer things exactly how he wants them!
Solid instructor. Knows material, explains well. Tough subject to learn in 3 1/2 months. Class is not hard but the information is. No homework. Short in class group projects. 30 extra credit pts. 4 exams multiple choice worth 30pts w/two short answer questions identical to in class work worth 20 pts. Study guide on syllabus.
I took his Earth Science class online. Online classes are interesting due to the fact that there can be occasional glitches...well this instructor will not help you if you come across an issue while doing work online. If a quiz freezes, he will not assist you, but he will be more than happy to give you a 0 for that assignment.
AMAZING TEACHER!You would be hard pressed to find someone on a UC campus with as much background and education as him! He should teaching at Berkeley or UC Davis! Take him while you can! i hated Geo before and to this day when I am traveling or hiking I can recall things he taught me. I plan on taking him again just for fun! Great guy Great Prof
Take his online summer class. If you fail this class or get anything less than a C+ you should seriously consider if college is for you. Does not get any easier than this online summer class and I am not a science major. Open book quizzes and tests. I spent max 2 days a week working on this class. SO EASY
First of all, let me just say Alex is the best professor I've had at Sierra College. Don't let all these bad reviews fool you, if you're a serious college student who takes his/her work seriously there is a lot to be gained by taking one of his classes. To those complaining about online instruction, consider taking an actual class on campus.
The Syllabus needs to be cleaned up and combined. You need to study his lectures to do well on the exams, not so much book read. Do not expect a great personal experience. It is a do your work and get it done type of class.
I received a hostile reply when I politely asked about grades that hadn't been posted nearly 2 weeks after I submitted work--figured it was a tech issue, but he behaved defensively. I took the OL course and he is very particular about what will garner full credit on short answers. The 20 min. time limit for written responses is absurd.
Dont be fooled this man is not ur friend no matter what his name implies! Eagerly dishes out Ds&Fs. Of course I take my work "seriously" or else I wouldnt b takingESCI!Should not b teaching intro classes expecting us to remember word4word ex!gone 2 college for years and i kno what the procedure is;alex doesnt.Expect to have 40 min 2 write 3 essays.
He provides lecture and ppt to guide students through class. Some stuff is easy to understand. He can be rude, which doesn't provide the best learning environment (students should be able to ask any question w/out fear of snide remarks). Exams r not bad, quizzes r basic, but short answer part of exams r unfair w/time limit. must be good test taker
This teacher really made this class unenjoyable to me. :( I love science :( He marks you down if you don't answer questions as he would (A SCIENCE PROFESSOR!!) It is a beginner science class not an advanced science class. He needs to be more flexible when you are starting out. Had does a good job of explaining why he marks down but REALLY?!?
I pretty much agree with the previous comment. Someone needs to remind this prof that this is an intro course. I'm doing well so far, but I am focusing at least 2 hours everyday just to have the grade that I do. I wish his class had an section where students can ask questions., but I don't think he cares for students to help one another.
This teacher really made my experience with science unenjoyable. I was really excited to take a science class as it has always been a very interesting concept to me, but alas, I couldn't wait for it to be over. I wont be taking another science class with this professor. Oh and make sure you don't question him on anything, you'll be argumentative.
I really enjoy science, so the course was interesting and the information given was right on. However, the professor is arrogant and will address the class as if they're incompetent four yr olds. Lets you use older editions of the book, but doesn't give the ISBN. Good luck with any discrepancies. He'll call you a liar.
This professor will not assist you and will tell you to refer to the syllabus anytime you have a question in regards to exams or quizzes etc. He lists the topics by week and then gives you another list with dates for quizzes, exams and reports but does not tell you which chapters will be covered on the exam. I am so disappointed!!!
Don't be fooled by these bad reviews. If you are interested in Earth Science, he is a helpful and knowledgable teacher. If you're looking for a class that you can "float by" without really having to do anything or show up than look else where or stop going to college. He is a good teacher who actually knows his stuff!
For Physical Geology, great teacher. Makes things easy to understand.I don't understnad the comments about him being condescending. Non-cummulative final :), no quizzes, 4 tests thats it! Lots of extra credit, wants his students to succeed. One of my favorite teachers so far, learned a lot in his class. You WILL have to study though.
Positives: The book is cheap, the multiple choice questions are straight from his notes and offers extra credit. Negatives: He can be abrupt (borderline rude) and grades the mini essay questions hard. He'd also does not allow late work, even if it is a medical emergency. Just take the class and don't expect any interaction.
I have taken this teacher before and received a B without trying hard. Not the best instructor and has not been rude this semester. Shocker! He must have been talked to about it. Anyway, he is the only instructor I know who says he will give you a zero if you over explain things because it shows you don't really know the material... Really?
Absolutely the worst teacher I've ever had. Not willing to help students and makes fun of you when you ask questions in class. If you miss a day, don't expect him to help you catch up at all and if you email him, do not expect a reply. And if you ask if he received your email, he will let you know that you are not one of his priorities at all.
HATE THIS PROFESSOR. On hid syllabus he says you can miss up to 4 days before he drops you. I missed 3 days and he dropped me from is class. Not only this but he gives the mot boring ever. He is so mono tone its not even funny. He is also very rude. When you ask questions his answers them with a tone like you should already know this.
Took this class over summer, lectures were available over the assigned readings. Occasional questions on tests were open to interpretation but overall easily understood. Easy A, skipped last report assignment as it was optional and I nabbed a 97 without even trying.
Loved this online class. Clear syllabus & firm due dates given beforehand. Independent work just print (highly suggested) and read lectures before taking the 5 small quizzes and 7 exams. Tests contain info right in the lecture (emphasis on printing it!). Never communicated with Prof but seems to fairly grade 3 small reports (2 mand., 1 for E.C.).
Basically, it's his way or the highway. This teacher gives extremely clear instructions for what he wants, so if you do exactly what he says, you should be ok. There are 7 exams, 5 quizzes, and 3 reports. I felt some of the test questions try to trick you, and he is not testing you on how much you learned, but on if you can get his trick questions
He is an awesome dude, just takes a little getting used to. I honestly don't understand how people have given him bad reviews. I would absolutely take his class again. Also if you have questions he is very willing to explain, and will stay after class if your questions go beyond the course material.
Alex amigo is a easy teacher and if u wanna pass his class all you gotta do it do all the labs which he gives you all the answers to. I didn't do very well on the test (3 test) and I still passed with a B
I loved the format of this class, quiz to prep for class then class, then exam and done.. no having to go back and forth and stress about finals, each subject concludes when you turn in your weekly exam. Great Instructor!
Alex is a wonderful teacher. Sometimes the way things are worded are very clear, but if you ask he will clarify for you. I really feel that he cares about his students and he establishes really good rapport with you if you talk to him. He can sometimes go a little of course when he is doing a lecture, but it is usually relevant or interesting.
I took this class online and all in all I found it to be a great class. Alex is very clear about what he wants in your papers and even gives examples. I didn't use my textbook a lot but he does reference it in his lectures quite a bit so it was nice to have it for that and also exams. I would definitely take a class with him again.
Wanted everyone to finish quickly. Did not allow for people who process slower. Labs were not clear - expectation that you should know what to do. Group work expected but they did not form up very well. Written lectures informative as well as exam outline but wording on exams confusing. Fair grading system but never know what was wrong.
I learned so much in this class. Prof. Amigo makes you work for it but is an amazing professor! He was always clear on the assignments and tests. I am not a science buff but this ended up being my favorite class! He was awesome! Must attend class and keep up with homework but definitely worth it!
Took EarthSci as an online class. Dr. Amigo has fairly clear lectures, great power point presentations, but is the absolute worst at returning email questions. And do NOT expect him to be approachable when you make a mistake, he's very condescending.
Dr Amigo was clear with his instructions, what he wasn't clear about was it has to be done his way or he will fail you. I mentioned nuclear power as a viable power source and I failed the assignment because of it. I don't think he opinions should carry enough weight to fail me because he is to backwards thinking to use nuclear power. Easy class!!!
Professer Amigo was great! I was nervous about taking Earth Science but he did a really great job. His quizzes were all from the book so just make sure you read the chapters. He also responded to any emails I sent him if I was having trouble. I would definitely recommend taking his class!
Pofessor Amigo is awesome. His lectured are long but he uses the time well. I've never left class without a clear understanding of the topic. There's a lot of quizzes/exams but he is extremely fair on the grading. The quizzes/exams are after each topic covered so that you can be tested while you still remember. He is very easy to get along with.
I had him for Earth Science Lab and really enjoyed the class! He is really nice and gives clear directions. Do not know what kind of teacher he is in lecture, but he is a great LAB teacher! Recommend.
I took his Earth Science Lab and I must say he's one of the best teachers I've had. He makes sure the students truly understand the concepts before starting our lab and is always willing to explain further. I wish I had taken him for the lecture part of Earth Science. The class environment is very relaxed. Labs can't be made up, attend class.
I took Energy, Environment, and Climate with Alex and he created it himself at Sierra. I thought he was a great teacher and I really enjoyed the class. It was pretty easy and the information was fascinating. It could get boring at times. I would recommend.
The class is easy - he gives you all the materials you need in the weekly modules. I didn't open the book once this semester and got an A. I wouldn't bother buying it. My complaint: he is not very helpful. I contested an 'incorrect' on a test question and he would NOT tell me why it was wrong, even after 2 email exchanges. He just brushed me off.
This class was as easy as it gets. You barely need the textbook. The weekly exams and quiz's are easy, all you need are Amigo's notes. 3 easy (1 page) reports. I can't imagine any other Physical Science CSU area B requirement being any easier than this class. If I had it to do over again I might take this call as a condensed 8 week Summer session.
Earth Science was an easy A so I took him again for Geography and totally regretted it. Either a quiz or exam every week which aren't too bad. He is a very tough grader on the discussions though but thankfully there aren't very many. He's not the worst teacher I've had but I definitely won't be taking anymore of his classes.
While this class is very interesting, I took one of the tests and the question corresponded with a picture. The picture wouldn't load and when asked if I could either get that extra point because he said one point didn't really matter. Then upon asking to have work early for a personal reason he belittled me... Not happy with this experience.
I had Alex for both his online lecture and in class lab. He was a blast! He was hilarious and made being in his class super enjoyable. In class - Only 3 tests, based off the 12 labs. Walks through the labs with you then lets you leave class once you're finished working. Would hands down take him again and recommend him to everyone I know!
SAVAGE. Dude is fine by me. I passed the class with relative ease. Good sense of humor.
Dr. Amigo is great, he expects you to learn and he goes into depth about everything. He's an expert and lays it all out there in order and it's up to you to study. He gives a lot of extra credit but also is semi difficult with grading. I really enjoyed his class, very clear and concise.
Alex Amigo's online class is great. All tests are based off the lectures and there is even extra credit.
Great teacher who is very helpful. Gives feedback. You will need to put In a bit of work but its not terrible like some classes.
Horrible instructor. I would not recommend him. Tough grader. Most of his exam and quiz's question were not from the book. I'm not sure why is he making this class harder than it should be.
Alex is great. Took him for both online and lab. Super easy class if you do the work and pay attention to what he wants. Definitely recommend him over any other Earth Science professor at Sierra. He knows his stuff, and you will learn a lot and have fun in his class with no pressure. He is very involved, responsive, and wants you to succeed.

I took him for the earth science lab and it was really easy! I learned a lot from him that helped me in my regular earth science class and he gave us good preparation for the tests
I took intro to Earth Science - ESCI 10, online class. Very clear instructions. I passed with a B just by reading his weekly 3 pages lecture and power point. But reading the book as well definitely helps. He also offers 20 points extra credit which could raise your grade a letter. Great professor and provides appropriate feedback and grading.
This was a great science class. Alex is an awesome professor and the class was nicely planned out and as long as you take the quizzes and tests you will do very well in the class. Take this class
I rented the textbook, but I really only used it in the beginning of the course, since I could find the answers in his lectures 97% of the time. You have 7 exams, 5 quizzes and 2 (small) reports , they are extremely easy if you actually do the reading. He offers extra credit, consisting of a 3rd report and practice quiz. Do your work and get an A.
Clear expectations. Always available to students. Tests as you go on the previous weeks work. No cumulative final!
I took Prof. Amigo's Earth Science lecture class online over the summer. Due to the fact that it was only 8 weeks long, we did have 2 assignments due per week- either a report, quiz or exam (varied in combination by week). There are online lectures, which I recommend you print out to use for quiz/exams. I would recommend renting the book if you can
Alex classes are very straightforward. Theres a lot of extra credit point available, show up to class and do the in class assignments and youll pass no problem! Sometimes the exams for lecture are confusing, but he goes through and if the majority of the class got an answer wrong he gives credit back! Really a wonderful professor!
Took Earth science with the lab. Fun class, a lot of group work! Tests are a bit difficult and you have to go to class, if not you'll miss a lot of information. Otherwise, great teacher and fun class.
Took his Earth Science class and also the lab with him. Really enjoyed his class but the tests can be a little hard.
GOOD FOR NON-SCIENCE MAJORS. I took this class as an incoming freshman and it was by far easier than any class I took in high school. I used the textbook for pictures but honestly you could get away without it. 7 unit exams, 2 short papers (3 paragraphs long), 5 quizzes. Extra credit available through report and syllabus quiz. Very good experience.
I took his online class and it was very straightforward. You just read the lectures and take the test. I recommend the class to anyone who wants an easy A and some interesting knowledge about our planet.
The most organized professor I've ever had! I found tests to be heavily based on lecture and PowerPoint notes. I found the textbook to be very difficult to understand. What worked best for me was to read/highlight/take notes from the lecture/PowerPoint and then look at the textbook charts that were mentioned in the lecture. Keep up with reading!!!
I took Professor Amigo for Geography during the summer & loved his class! His online set up is VERY organized & easy to navigate. I didn't need to use the textbook at all! The lectures he provides are everything you need! He is professional & easy to communicate with. I appreciate how he treats his students like adults. Welcome 2 College ya'll!
He's the most fair teacher I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He definitely wants every student to succeed. Don't be afraid to ask questions and be sure show up to every class. His labs are a lot of fun, and again ask questions! He's always ready to explain complex concepts in a way that you can understand if you just ask.
He doesnt teach anything. He never even made a video of him explaining slides. He is a very tough grader and most of time doesnt show any interest in science. He just give us instructions and those instructions were pretty unclear. He makes all the instructions unclear and then blame you for not following them. Literally the worst teacher ever.
He doesn't really teach anything. We have assigned reading but its really only given once. His lectures are slides which means you can't skip around without listening to the whole slide again which is usually 7-10 minutes. All you get are these slides and lengthy published documents to read. Considering the lack of instruction, its very test heavy.
Look for another ESCI professor. He is a tough grader, his instructions are very unclear, and isnt very understanding. He expects his students to be used to being online 1 year later when quite frankly, some students will never be used to being online. If you want to do well, dont take this professor.
Extra Credit is what will save you in this class, not a fan of his teaching.
Do not take this professor!! I did good in this class and still regret taking it. It is very clear early on that he is not understanding of any life problems and expects his class to be your number priority. Do not expect any help from him. Difficult grader on DBs that he assigns right before the weekend and initial posts are due on Sundays.
