he was a very strange guy, and very boring. He always tried to crack jokes that were never funny. He wasn't too hard but it was never clear what was going to be on the tests.
Haha. The previous person obviously didn't 'get' this teacher at all. Caldiero is probably UVSC's biggest treasure. He is brilliant, hillarious, witty, insightful, and will teach you things about life that you could never learn in textbooks. His class is an EXPERIENCE that you won't forget. Amazing.

Excellent teacher and very hillarious. Teaches class in such a unique way. Without him specifically as a teacher, this class would have been boring. He made all the difference.
It was a fun class. I really enjoyed the group discussions. It was hard though to figure out what was going to be on the tests because he wanted us to know everything we discussed and what was in the book so don't miss class.
Alex is the greatest.
Alex is so awesome. He made the class interesting, whereas usually it would suck. He is so into what he teaches, and he makes it very entertaining. He has a unique sense of humor and is always making jokes, but i enjoyed it!
i consider him a mentor
Alex is Great. He is very involved in what he teaches. He is involved in the communtiy as well. One of the best teachers I have had in my entire scholastic career.
I had so been looking forward to taking this class bc I love learning about the different arts, but honestly this class has made me dislike Humanities. Alex is an ok teacher. Yeah he loves what he teaches and is into it, but his jokes are corny and you never know what to study for the test.
I wasn't very happy that I had to take a humanities class, but after taking it from Alex, I really enjoy it. He is a great guy and fun to be around.
Fun class. This teacher is funny, and easy. Two papers, and four tests, and that's it! Knows what he is talking about. Take this class.
LOL this guy was crazy, but so hilarious! I recommend him, he was an easy A and he is way funny! I learned a lot too.
I will agree that Caldiero does make class very hard, because he NEVER talks. He only teaches by example. It was a very fun and helpful class, I really enjoyed throwing boxes and playing catch with Dog. Probably the most important thing I learned is to not shoot your buggy off a cliff with the gravity gun...or else you'll be walking a LONG way.
Very interesting and fun. He's a great guy. But more importantly, he knows how to teach with impressive clarity. Very personable in class, but don't expect him to recognize you anywhere else.
This is not your traditional teacher. Everyone should take at least one class from this guy. He makes absurdity an art form. You'll definitely look at things differently after this class.
Great teacher - knows what he is talking about and anything else you ask.
Painfully boring class, disrespectful teacher, the biggest waste of time and money at UVSC.
Stupid class, I'm glad it is ALL OVER. Don't ever take this teacher.
He's kind of off the wall, but he makes class interesting. He goes over the stuff he tests on pretty well. Offers a lot of extra credit. I enjoyed the class. No comprehensive final.
I did poorly on the test, but he gave out so much extra credit that I ended up with an A. He is not very clear when he teaches and he hates the text book. Use his definitions and not the ones from the book and you should be alright. You would probably be better off taking hum 1010 from another teacher
This teacher makes the students feel stupid for giving any suggestions. Tests on things he vaguely covers, he knows his stuff but he was not meant to be a teacher. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE FOR HUM 1010.
This teacher holds a special place in my heart, I believe I got more out of his class than all of my other courses combined. He knows his subject, and more than that he is passionate about it. His special blend of knowledge and humor was the highlight of my semester. If you actually plan on going to your class, take him.
I was not looking forward to humanities at all, but I ended up loving this class because of Alex! His test's are easy, I never had a book or even studied my notes and I got an A- in the class. He is also a hoot! No class has ever been more fun or entertaining! Take hjim if you can, you'll be happy you did. He likes to joke around, FYI.
attendance is not mandatory, but don't expect a good grade if you don't go to class. cracks a lot of puns and cheesy jokes, but you can either love him or hate him. he gives extra credit which is not even hard to do (write a poem!!) so there's no reason why you can't get an A if you always go to class. very passionate about what he teaches.
Alex is a wonderful teacher. It's interesting that a lot of these comments reflect on the student and not the teacher. He is truly creative and is willing to help you grow. His passion is contagious. Take a class from him and see for yourself.
Engaging, intriguing, interesting, mind-blowing, but somewhat esoteric in his teaching style. Tests are a bit hard but he makes up for it by giving tons of extra credit, some of which is fun to do. Alex is as unique of an individual as you can get... great guy! Take the class, you will learn a lot!
Not what I thought the class would be, eye-opening though, gives some different views, not sure how I was doing in the class until grades came out
his tests are really hard!
caldiero is a brilliant, kind and respectful teacher/mentor. his feedback and instruction help you access a deeper part of creativity, humor, art and belief. most supportive teacher i ever had.
Alex is very interesting. His class isn't as easy as you might think but if you work then you should get an A. He is pretty funny though is jokes are lame. He expects a lot out of students in class. Don't just go and expect to sit and say nothing. He WILL involve you like it or not. Good teacher, very passionate, knows what he is talking about
Alex is passionate but very disorganized. He may be a good artist but as a teacher he rambles and rants and doesn't get anywhere. He is very nice but you should plan on bringing something else to do while you wait for the lecture to get somewhere. This class is a playground for the prententious and those who think they are beyond societal bounds
Very good at teching clearly with passion, but very dissorganized, it can take a month or so for him to grade a test. the class is fun and easy, 4 take home tests open book, and two, two page art reports
He is a pretty wierd guy, quite the thinker. If you are required to take ethics and values, take it through him. He will work with you and help you along. Good guy, better beard.
Alex was a weird cat, but you knew that he loved what he was talking about. Follow his class rules and you'll be fine. I would recommend him because of his willingness to give you some buffer room for turning in assignments, as long as it's in on the the day due, meaning you can turn it in anytime during the day. Saved my butt, that did.
Alex's class rocks. His class requires that you keep actively engaged in the topics discussed. It is easy to get B's on his papers but requires extended effort for A's. This was my favorite class that semester, primarily because Alex has a very open-ended teaching style. His teaching methodology is similar to a discussion, less like a lecture
I hated this guy I did pretty well in this class but he was so boring I had to drag myself to that class it was awful. In one class he actually called a kid "illiterate" I couldn't beleive it he was mean and his voice is monotone. by far the worst class i've had to sit through you couldn't pay me to go back to him
"Language, Most Dangerous of Possessions" - TAKE THIS CLASS! It'll fill up fast and it is AMAZING. It is co-taught between Alex and Scott Abbott. Both are great. You will look at language (and the world) so much differently after the class. It is challenging, which makes it even better. Work hard! Alex will go crazy sometimes! It's great.
Alex is by far one of the funniest teachers I have had so far. He is really enthusiastic about the arts and I loved listening to his lectures and jokes. He is willing to work with students and is a really nice guy. Just don't walk in late or he will make some jokes about you. Funny guy and has the knowledge to make class interesting.
Worst class I've ever had. The professor is a complete moron who offers nothing more than superficial answers--that is, if he even answers your question at all. This was the most ridiculous class I've taken.
Not my cup of tea! He didn't seem to respect student's opinions and views. He is a really funny guy, but also really intimidating. You have to do a midterm and final that are 8+ pages, and then two ethics papers. There was also confusion on due dates. Interesting guy just realize your opinion will almost always be wrong in his class.
Best class to take in the summer. He requires two easy 4 page papers. He provides extra credit that is worth a lot of points. Lastly, he gives out 8 mini-exams with no comprehensive final. As a teacher, he is very opinionated and slightly rude. However, his tests make you learn to critically think- a collegiate skill that more students need.
His class is actually good. If you can get past the first couple lectures then he gets better, his class is easy if you go everyday and study really hard for each test. He does not answer questions very good out of class so if you have questions i suggest you ask during class. If your not clear on something it would be better to ask another student
Subject material is awesome. Really knows his stuff! However, not clear about his expectations, makes for difficulty when you actually CARE about your grades. Not very helpful at answering questions and not very clear assignments. Is an interesting class, however. Make you think. Funny guy, but I've seen much better.
He is the worst teacher I have had at UVU. The class isn't interesting. He is rude, and doesn't care about the students. He isn't funny at all. A good thing, you don't have to buy a book. His tests are hard because it is all based off of lecture and his opinion. I would not reccommend him to anyone.
He is a pure genius, if you have a small brain or grew up not watching any disney movies, or have no imagination at all. Then don't take a class with this guy.
Professor Caldiero is one of the most unorganized, sarcastic teachers i have ever had. He belittles you in front of the class, makes fun of your questions, is unclear in his tests and lectures, and overall just very unorganized. Hated his class...
Here's the deal: This isn't a professor for everyone. Yes, he can come across as rude or even mean. He's not approachable. But the class is surprisingly easy. If you show up and review your notes before the tests, you'll do well. Just make sure to get notes from someone else if you missed class. The material is okay, but Alex makes it interesting.
I loved this teacher and class. Be respectful and pay attention and you'll do fine. He gave us all the info we needed for the tests in class. He described the expectations for the only assignment in detail in class, but you had to pay attention to catch it. Nice guy if you're nice back. Easy to work with if you put in the effort too.
OK. If you have a sense of humor, you'll enjoy this class. The stuff seems boring, but then he teaches you about it, and it becomes amazing! I'm majoring in HUM because of this guy. He is crazy. If you eat in his class, or are disrespectful, he will yell. Take notes, study them. If you put in the effort, you'll get an A. Stop whining and do it.
This guy is not for everyone. Go to class with a sense of humor and ready to take notes. Everything on the test is given verbatim in class. Interesting class, nice guy.
Teacher is very passionate about humanities. Great teacher! Each class he transforms into a character and makes it a class you will never forget!
This class was co-taught--which was a problem. One day Alex was be a real nice guy and I enjoyed his class, and the next day he'd be yelling at the class (and we honestly didn't bring it on). A lot of class discussion, but he did bring in some films, artwork, music, etc-- which was good. Often left confused as to what to do when given an assignment
This guy is a clown, makes everybody laugh but, the jokes are from the same students. be ready to take notes, no text book is necessary, he makes you suffer until the last minute and then he gives you two extra-credits of 50 points each. equivalent to two mini-exams is the way he call them. you will be taking about 8 mini exams. no final.
I was always scared to ask a question. Has no respects to students opinions. If he didn't agree he'd yell, "NO!" He would make us laugh a lot. I'd enjoy coming to class to learn what he was teaching us but I would never ask questions. He's not approachable.
[Duchamp Readymades] Alex can be really entertaining, but he's intimidating. I feel like you need to think things through exactly like he does & shape answers in midterms, etc to say what he wants to hear. I pretty much always felt lost in his class, although I was there almost always. He doesn't give a lot of specific guidance on mid/term papers.
I dont think it is fair to grade differently than the requirements you have set in place with your syllabus. For example saying on the term paper, that length is only worth 10 points and then deducting 50 points for length. Alex is off the wall and of little help.
Alex Caldiero is fantastic. He's so crazy and hilarious, don't take him seriously, he likes to say things to shock people, laugh at all his jokes. He's a terrific teacher, and this class is extremely easy. Keep in mind he's a crazy poet. I enjoyed everyday of class! Don't listen to the other comments, they don't understand his sense of humor.
I loved Alex's class! He is hilarious, and partially insane, which made it all the better. His views sometimes seem strange, but it all adds to the entertainment of the class. He reviews all the content for the mini exams in class, and you have to attend events outside of class and write two 4-6 page critiques. I would take more classes form him.
Awesome teacher, interesting and lively
Alex has been literally life changing for me. For everyone giving negative ratings, you must have no clue as to what academia is. Alex is a world renown poet and poet performer. Just look him up on wikipedia. He was born in Italy, moved to New York City when he was 9, went to school at NYU. He's so passionate and caring. Youtube him. He's unreal!
Alex is amazing!!!
Alex is the worst teacher I have ever had! He never explains what he wants and then gets mad when it's wrong. On Midterm he gave everyone in the class a 0 because he failed to explain how he wanted the paper formatted. He grades poorly and very unfair. In class he can be very entertaining, and random but some of his humor I found very offensive.
bottom line folks, jst keep an open mindset. he's a teacher that is very passionate, seems intimidating, but don't be- classes: cool personal tangents, laughs, moderate to high note taking. 8 mini tests,no hmwrk,2-1 pg papers, offers 50pts E.C. Its not a bad idea to write word for word,or get a recorder. Interesting lessons, information, and teacher.
No matter how hard you try or how many countless hours you put into your work it won't matter. He never follows his syllabus and doesn't explain anything. He is rude and inconsiderate. When asked what was wrong with the homework or try to talk he says he doesn't have time for you or your questions. Example: All of the zeros on the midterms. Why?
Professor Caldiero was strange. He taught in an unorthodox and unconventional way. Everything you have to know for his mini exams are written on the board (literally) and as long as you review your notes before the test its an easy A. No textbook either so it saves you money.
I've been in the class for over 10 weeks and I still don't know what "humanities" is. Caldiero is a bit rude when you ask him questions. He is unsympathetic toward student-athletes, and doesn't seem to have a genuine interest in his student's passing. And his jokes suck, avoid this teacher
Alex is quite the character. He's very passionate and entertaining, and you can expect random tangents galore in this class. However, he can be a bit hard to follow at times. He does NOT use Canvas at all, so it's difficult to track your progress in the class. He's unsympathetic, but if you can handle that then you can get through this class.
His classes are just him talking. He has "mini exams" which you can't study for. He doesn't give notes or have anything on canvas. You just have to guess what he is going to but on these exams. And he uses the same exam for all his same level classes so it had stuff from other classes that we didn't learn. Worst teacher I have had so far.
WORST TEACHER EVER! He kicked us out of his class for nothing. Says the f word to students. Very rude and unprofessional. No idea what is going on in his class ever. Don't know how people says he is a good teacher at all.
This guy is Amazing. A little unorthodox to be sure, but really awesome. His lectures are life changing if you have an open mind. He's funny, he's inspirational, and he's smart as a whip. I can't say enough how high of a regard I hold this man in. The guy who was kicked out was talking and texting. There's a no phone policy. Man up, dude.
After the first day, I won't be returning to his class. He was so awkward, rude, disrespectful, and just downright offensive, all while trying to be funny. He singled out students and attacked them. He wouldn't stop attacking religion either. At one point, I questioned if I was in a religion class, or a humanities class.
This teacher is so confusing. I didn't know what he expected from his students. There are hardly any assigned readings, and he just seems to go on tangents most of the time. So I decided to drop. Perhaps if I stayed, things would have made a little more sense by the end of the semester.
This man is amazing!! He is one of the most inspirational and intelligent wizards of academia I have ever met!!! Do not hesitate to take a class, ANY class from this amazing thinker!!!
This man is an inspiration and everything academia should strive to be! I can only assume any negative review Professor Caldiero gets is due to closed mindedness and laziness! Caldiero is a true thinker! He is a artist and a philosopher! Most of all he is a human being who is striving to be honest and straight-forward in his teaching......
Words cannot express how grateful I am to have had Caldiero as a professor. He is an absolute genius! He strives to open closed-minds, something that is extremely difficult especially in Utah.
Artist, Philosopher, Professor, Genius! There is no one like professor Caldiero!!
Professor Caldiero is amazing! He has the most interesting lectures and a drive that is unmatched!!
No textbook, no canvas. I agree with some opinion that his exam is hard. You must get ready to take some note. If you show up every class and take note, you will get an A. Stop whining losers, you are a grown up man and woman. Don't think that you can always get an easy A by using study guide or any other funny things. You are a college student.
The class was really entertaining . He is a really cool guy and has a unique way of seeing the world. I think he cares about people and wants to open his students minds. The tests are based off the notes in class only problem is sometimes he didn't go over some of the questions so you are left to guess. He is also terrible at answering questions.
Mr. Caldiero is truly a great teacher and thinker. His sense of humor is different than most, it took me a sec to warm up to him. Go to class everyday, take notes on what he says, not just what he writes on the board. Study your notes and you will do great! No comprehensive final, it is simply the last test of what you cover last. Take his class!
Takes any commentary on his material personal. Makes students feel stupid for asking certain questions. Does not always cover everything you need to know for the tests. Actual lessons don't begin until he is done talking/joking around with students. To top it off, dropped an F bomb on one of the students for talking in class.
Show up, take notes on what he lectures about, review notes before the test, pass the class. It is that simple. He did offer two extra credit assignments for us. He is pretty offensive, and isn't afraid to make fun of the LDS faith (the predominant religion in the area). If you don't go to class, you will fail.
Do not take this class from this professor. He is very rude to his students and rambles like no other. You have do 5 group projects throughout the semester, and he is never specific about what he is looking for. The class is pretty easy if you do the reading, but he does have a temper and will let students know when he thinks you are stupid.
You definitely should not take this professor. He was incredibly vague. Throughout the semester, we had several group projects, but he was always very unclear about what he wanted. Actually, I still don't know what he wanted for those assignments. He was also very rude and enjoyed making fun of religion--especially the LDS Church. Very frustrating!
he is so disrespectful. he is rude to students. he does not care about anyone in class. he will swear at you if you don't do what he likes. he makes fun of religion and race. He does not teach, he talks but is never clear what his class is even about. He is racist. this comment probably won't be here because "it's rude" but it's true.
he is so disrespectful. he is rude to students. he does not care about anyone in class. he will swear at you if you don't do what he likes. he makes fun of religion and race. He does not teach, he talks but is never clear what his class is even about.
I learned very many things during class. I never missed a class, but I imagine it would be difficult to make up what was missed. He moves on to different topics very quickly. He let us leave early if we finish the material, though. Take very good notes! It's hard to study for his tests if you don't write down everything that he says.
I read complaints about the use of profanity, disrespect of students, for "making fun" of the LDS, and for his lectures being "vague." This style of teaching is important for adults, to understand that we give power to the meaning of words, we focus more on our sensitivities than lessons, and that being learners means to think independently.
I consider myself a hardworking student, but I couldn't figure out this class. I'd complete assignments early down to the nail on how he described his requirements in the syllabus, and still manage to fail the assignment. His tests can be hard to pass unless you can read his mind and understand exactly what he wants in an answer.
I fulfilled all of his vague expectations, did all of his vague projects, got great test scores, and I still got a C. He made his political opinions very open and bashed you if you disagreed with him. If you actually want to learn something, don't take his class.
He's rude and vulgar. He only teaches by lectures and the class gets very draggy. I do like that he doesn't require a textbook but thats about it. You never really know your grade and if you ask he never really gives it. However, he is passionate about what he teaches and at times he is entertaining, i can respect him but i wouldn't take him again.
Alex was great! If I missed class, I could get notes from a neighbor. Tests are based on the lectures, as there isn't a textbook for the course. He makes you think outside the box for sure by going to some pretty different outside experiences, but it was a refreshing experience. Kind of hard to get a hold of. I would suggest just talking to him.
Crass. Condescending. Class is one unrelated tangent after another. Doing the reading is the only learning youll do.
He is not a bad person, but he is not a good professor. I asked for advise on what to do to improve my grade, and he simply responded with "Drop out of the class if you can"... instead of looking at my grades and telling me what do work on. Never felt conformable walking in to his class. Lectures always off topic and never clear on what he wants.
love his way of teaching. everyone giving him a bad rep is being a baby because Caldiero isn't rude he's just very opinionated and is not afraid to counter ideas and debate subjects. Hardly any hw. Very funny/crazy personality. no textbook so class is more spontaneous than scheduled. he makes lectures interesting. I would recommend him for sure!!
Enjoyed him as a teacher but had a difficult time in his class. He's all over the place, which makes his exams hard to do well in. Not structured. He is very opinionated & blunt. Not on canvas so he doesn't know your grade & will guesstimate it. When you need feedback its very unclear. I'm passing with I think a B (maybe?) thanks to extra credit.
if you wanna have a fun time and laugh a lot, this is the professor for you; he's really very funny but he's got a dry sense of humor that lots of kids don't get. his lessons are a bit hard to follow, but if you pay attention you'll pass--plus tons of extra credit. there's no canvas course, though, so you can't see your grade, which is frustrating.
Its a hard class and he has a very unique way of teaching. Hes an interesting guy and his test are not easy but he gives tons of extra credit. I did all the extra credit and got 125 points of extra credit.
The professor is funny and has a very unique personality that I found entertaining at times but personally would not suggest this class to anyone.
Very hard class, this is a 1010 general class and it felt like I was taking a class for a humanities/art major. Grade completely based off of 4 tests. Many students complained some questions on the test weren't talked about in class. He's very rude to his students and pretty much wants to make all of his students feel stupid. DON'T take his class.
This was the weirdest class I have ever taken. It was super unorganized and I felt like he lectured about whatever he felt like. There was no textbook so I had nothing to turn to for additional resources. 0/10 would NOT recommend. Such a waste of time.
Alex is a super weird guy, which makes the class interesting! The exams are only on his notes which he lectures about in class, so you gotta go! However, the final is NOT cumulative, it is just another exam. Also, he gives very GENEROUS extra credit at the end of the semester. Would actually recommend his class to my friends.
Honestly I still don't know how this professor is still working here. you can tell how much UVU cares about its students. He was reported and has gone to a high level but of course, they told the student to stay quiet and what they will do what they need to do which is absolutely nothing. (did you do this? ignorant professor: no, them: okat thanks.
Great guy, not a good teacher. I was looking forward to learning humanities, but he made this class ridiculously hard. Tests about every week on the most random facts. Open-response answers and if it wasn't EXACTLY what he wanted you got the whole question wrong. Also required out-of-class event attendance and reports.
I really liked Calderio as a person because he was funny and super nice, but his method of teaching seemed very unorganized to me. When I would email him to ask him questions his response would be simple like "dig deeper". I did not enjoy this class one bit and the setup of the class made it more difficult.
I took Alexs HUM1010 class online, and it was a very easy class. We had 5 research assignments and they were very spread out through the short semester of summer. His criteria I could see being confusing to others but I was able to understand it just fine! I was able to email him and he is definitely a caring teacher!
Easiest class ever. 5 research assignments and not a tough grader. Definitely a good class to take to check the box.
There were no study guides or handouts for this class, it was based on what he said. He got off topic multiple times, so he never gave us all the info we needed. There were things on exams that we never learned. There is only like 6 assignments including exams, so if you don't do well you are screwed. Most of the "art" he showed us was degrading.
I asked 3 weeks in advance to take a test early, which he OK'd. The day before I was supposed to take it, I reminded him that I was going to be coming in and he made me cry saying things like the world doesn't revolve around me, even though I had been approved 3 weeks prior. Only changed his mind/demeanor once I started crying. Humiliating.
I typically give professors the benefit of the doubt, but this is not the case for Caldiero. His course is easy, but he is very inconsiderate and sarcastic toward his students. If you ask a question or comment, he will either 1) respond in some derogatory way or 2) laugh at you. His teaching style is unhealthy and unfortunate. Would NOT take again!
He is a very interesting prof. He is funny so prepare to get a laugh in class, but he doesn't have a very structures curriculum. You are only graded on a few things but there is alot of extra credit for very easy things at the end of the semester. The exams are done in class and the study guides he provides is mostly the answers for the exam.
This was by far the easiest and most stress free class I have ever taken. The first few weeks I was weary and did not understand what was going on. Once I got to know the professor, the more I appreciated and understood him. Show up and you will get a good grade. Was confused most of the semester but that was part of the fun. Great professor
I would avoid taking a class by this professor if you can. While he is a nice person, he is not a great teacher. Questions are often answered with either extreme sarcasm or not at all. This class has ZERO structure whatsoever and the information that I used was information I looked up online. Expectations unclear. All students were very frustrated.
He is really weird. Be prepared to be uncomfortable in class. He will sing and dance and stare at you. Also I would recommend sticking to yes/no questions. If it's open ended, he won't really answer it how you want. He also gets distracted and tells stories the entire class, but somehow he covers all the info you need. I went to class probably 70%.
I adore this guy. He has an unconventional, old school style of teaching, mostly shielding the actual lesson through layers of sarcasm and well planned jokes. Most of the grade is based on tests, and they're easy provided you focus. You'll come to appreciate him if you take the time to chat, and he gives great advice and critique if you ask.
The classes have no proper structure, so proper note taking can be tough. This professor likes to branch off of the class material quite often, so it was quite hard to keep track of the necessary information. A few of the study guides for the tests were posted a night before that said test.
I cannot express how frustrating this teacher is. Have a question about anything at all? Be prepared to be laughed at, mocked, or ignored. He thinks he's being funny but his jokes should kick him out of uvu alone. He is not flexible with grading at all and won't even help you when seek help. Do not take this class with this professor
One of the best professors at UVU, students that take this class either hate him or love him. He's very sarcastic and funny but also teaches through the sarcasm. Old school style of teaching, everything is on paper.
An unconventional professor with an old-school teaching style. Engaging but can be sarcastic at times. Covers the material well, though structure is lacking. Unstuck AI helped me navigate the class.
I had to walk out of this class during the second week of school. We just went over the syllabus and the definitions of a thought, feeling and emotion for 3 whole days. Like hello it's a humanities class? What are u talking about girl. Any question I asked he shut down. I don't think he knows how to teach god he was so annoying.
He doesn't answer questions but gets mad at you for asking. He doesn't answer emails and is very forgetful. I had to talk to him a few times because he forgot to grade something, he still didn't grade it. Thankfully he has extra credit options. He's funny at times but he can make inappropriate jokes. Grade is based on 4 exams and few assignments.
Alex is not for everyone, but I personally feel that he is one of the most brilliant minds at this school. I have loved the three classes I've taken from Alex and he has changed the way I view life and the world around me. I changed my whole schedule around being able to take classes from Alex before he retires from teaching. He is a true gem.
I dropped after the first day of class. This man cannot talk in a straight line. We went over the syllabus (which had zero useful information nor any info for how to contact him), and stated that we aren't allowed to use any technology devices like phones or laptops or tablets in his class. One kid walked out of class and he took it so personally.
one of those guys that makes you so stressed out that you have to rewrite this twice so it doesn't get taken down
Alex is arguably the most chill professor I've had. His poetry class wasn't very structured, so I had to go with the flow. This worked out really well, and I improved as a poet and writer as a result. I was occasionally stressed about unclear expectations, but I learned they were left vague on purpose to allow us creative freedom. I'm glad I came.
