Had him for lab, only complaint was that he changed the lab exams to make them harder. Seemed to really care about students though.
I have never really liked biology, but he really seems to care about his students!!! He makes it easy for everyone to understand!!!
Wonderful teacher!! He makes Biology fun and interesting !! I loved his lectures and his way of teaching.

Is very hot and teached with great clarity as well
He was awesome. I didn't pass the class (not his fault) but his lectures are very clear and done by powerpoint. Very kewl professor.
Not available to students. Makes going over the tests very difficult...especially if you have children. Granted he is nice to look at, but I don't care for his style of teaching...nor do I care for his tests that do NOT cover exactly what his notes say. I would not take him again.
He is a very good teacher. He explains things so that everyone can understand. I hate biology, but I actually did good in his class because he made it interesting.
simply explains material in class which makes tests a little difficult b/c the questions are difficult to understand. I still have learned a lot and recommend taking his class.
I enjoyed this class. He was always willing to work out a time to come in and go over tests or help with any questions you had. Great sense of humor! I would recommend him as an instructor.
Comes across as funny but his tests aren't. Is difficult to find before or after class. Tries to make lectures interesting and usually is successful. Listen well, take good notes and read the book...you might have a chance on his tests.
His lectures are so easy to understand but they do not prepare you for his test. He appears to be available to certain students but I have not found him to be helpful.
I actually enjoyed this A&PII class. Tests are a little difficult but lectures are peppered with humor and a lot of interaction with students. He was very accessible and willing to help whenever asked and seems to take an interest in each student. Very personable and professional. Highly reccommend.
OK teacher. Once said, "I expect you to know the material...I want to know what's different." Don't always learn test material, which can make the tests extremely difficult. But he's pretty personable and willing to help if you need it.
Very funny. Laid back. Easy going. But his test are very hard. Be prepared to stuff your nose in your book.
Very happy teacher!! Helpful and will take his time to make you understand his class. It is not a cake walk, but it is not hard and go to class!!
he is a great professor. he is very, very helpful. if you have him for lab, stay after and ask question and make sure you understand the info. he'll give you hints on what to know for the lab practical!
vERY NICE PROFESSOR! YOU REALLY DON'T NEED THE TEXTBOOK, SINCE HIS TESTS ARE ALL FROM HIS NOTES. HE GIVES DETAILED REVIEWS FOR EACH TEST AND GOES OUT OF HIS WAY TO MAKE SURE THAT THE STUDENT UNDERSTANDS THE MATERIAL. HOWEVER, THE NOICE LEVELS DURING THE TEST WERE HIGH AND CAN BE DISTURBING.
Wonderful professor! Was always available outside of labs to answer any questions you have. It's not an easy class but he gives extra credit points on his practicals to help you out. He's very funny and laid back. You'll get an A as long as you study hard.
Makes class laid back but doesn't enjoy students talking while he is teaching (this is a plus for me). Everytime someone sneezes he says oh my god are you ok? which is pretty funny. if you know notes test is easy. However, you do have to study and go to class and take good notes. Very nice guy.
Dr. Collier is one of the best instructors I have had at Armstrong. He is hilariously funny and very nice. The best part is, he truly knows his stuff and so you feel like the class is informative but not overbearing. I highly recommend him as an instructor.
I enjoyed his class. Great professor. Taking him for 2082. Would highly recommend! The material is difficult and I did put a lot of time into preparing for his tests but they are very straight forward. He's like to joke around in class. He makes it fun!
Tests are straight from text book
I enjoyed his class very much and he his material along with test/quizes are very fair. I learned more from him than in lecture. His test aren't trickey.
A GREAT teacher!!! As long as you come to class everyday and take notes, you will get an A. He has three tests and a final...they ALL come from lecture notes...what i did was made notecards and it helped me out very well. I took him for AP I and AP II and recieved an A in both classes
this man was awesome....his notes were very clear..and his tets came straight from the book.....very easy...and very helpful..the only reason it was a little rough was b/c i took it during the summer in four weeks
Not my favorite teacher. Wonderful man, jokes a lot, but tests are impossible. He is a professor that you can study and study for and think you know the material but fail the test. Take Dr. Tucker instead shes makes the information fun and gives take home tests.
YOOOOOO, If Dr. Collier isnt the best prof. ever, then I would like to meet the prof. who can top him. Even though the course itself is fairly hard and dry, he keeps you awake and alert. He cracks mad jokes and he is very helpful if you dont understand something. His tests are the easiest, but he does give you a chance to pass with a decent grade.
Great Teacher! I actually loved going to class, even though it was an early one. He's fun, he cracks alot of jokes, makes things interesting, his tests are completely multiple choice and pretty straight forward. He's the best professor I've had so far at Armstrong. Def take him again!
ALEX COLLIER IS THE BEST DAMN TEACHER THE BIO DEPARTMENT HAS! His tests are hard, but if you use the study guidelines he provides and really STUDY IT AND KNOW IT, you should do fine. GO TO CLASS! IT'S A FUN CLASS AND YOU NEED TO BE THERE FOR THE NOTES! DO NOT DEPEND ONE SOMEONE ELSE FOR THEM! I'm taking him again from Comp Phys. **SNEEZE!**
very strange man. notes are helpful. read read read. tests are do-able. makes strange sounds and walks you out of lab if you dare take pictures of any of the stations.
Tests are straightforward and come directly from his notes. Go to class, take good notes and study them for the tests and you will do well. The test questions are not confusing at all. He scales the tests if the class average is below a 75ish...got an A! Much easier than Tucker!
1 of the best professors at aasu, if not the best. His tests are hard, but you can ace this class if you STUDY AND USE THE STUDY GUIDE he gives u. I will repeat, make sure you know the study guide VERY WELL. Also GO TO CLASS-his notes are NB!!!!
Dr. Collier is ONE OF THE BEST professors for Anatomy & Physiology ever! He has a sincere interest in what he is teaching and a sincere interest in his students. He is always available by phone or office and is extremely helpful in lab. Not to mention he is VERY FUNNY and kinda sexy in a quirky kind of way!! Take him; you won't regret it!
Dr. Collier is awesome. His teaching style is very easy to follow and he works hard to make sure that everyone understands the material. Dr. Collier has a wickedly fun sense of sarcastic humor and this made his summer course a lot of fun to attend. His tests come right from his notes and they are very fair. No tricks with this professor!
Dr.Collier was amazing! He loves his artistic renderings so get ready to draw some action potentials! I took him for both my A&P's...he is super helpful in Lab. I wish he taught microbiology...I miss him!
He is a great proffessor
OMG. He is very funny. I concider him as one of the best professors at AASU. Plus, he is hot, at least it is my opinion. I love him always being available to students. Always takes his time to make sure you undertsnad. LOVE HIM
This class is not easy by any means!!! On the first test, we had a total of 19 people get D's or F's. Almost all questions are essay. Have to pretty much know the notes word for word which is hard to do when you have 10-15 chapters you need to know per test!!! Don't think this class is going to end well.
Great class and great professor. He is funny, nice, and very helpful. You should take as many classes with him as you can. If you study and know the material you can't go wrong since his tests are mainly essay. It is all up to you if you want to do well.
Awesome professor!! Dr. Collier is willing to work with students on just about anything. His lectures and labs are very easy to follow along with and take notes. His tests are all scantron, no essay. He is very funny and makes class fun! I will definitely take him for 2082 if available!
A&P is a very hard class but he makes it more interesting and easy. The class started at 8:30 but he makes it possible to jump out of bed and get to class on time without feeling grumpy. Love this guy...he is very good. He really loves his job
TAKE THIS TEACHER! Lab quizzes are over material from previous labs not the lab that day! Tests are multiple choice and come from lecture. I would read or at least skim the book tho for a very good understanding and figures
This class is boring and hard, but Collier does his best to make it interesting for you. It's hard to follow along in lecture though because you are constantly writing notes from an overhead while he is talking. Don't wait 'til the last minute to study or spend hours trying to fill in the gaps. I recommend to start about a week before the test.
Notes are horrible and incomplete. memorize your graphs. and he says that you don't need to know anatomy, but you do. he throws around vocabulary words like your supposed to know them already. be prepared to rely on him, because you can't teach yourself.
A&P 2 was a piece of cake with him. His tests are not hard!! He gives you everything you need to know in your notes. If you listen to his lecture and come to class you'll do just fine. He is a nice guy and will answer all questions-even if they are stupid ones.
He is the teacher to take for this class but this is still a difficult class. He gives a lot of notes (no need for book) but they are very hard to understand. I had to find supplaments to fill in the gaps for the tests. TESTS ARE HARD AND NON CONSISTANT! Study a couple days before the test!
So entertaining! Takes complex material and makes it logical. Plus, he is SOOO cute!!! I love to just run into him in the halls to this day!
Dr. Collier is a awesome guy. The class very interesting and the test were reasonable. I only wished he used handouts more, like he did near the end of the semester. There is alot to copy, and his lecturing became more like background noise. Great class otherwise. Love me some baroreceptors
At first glance one notices his awesome beard, this is deceptive however. The beard may imply, yeah this dude is cool he must be a interesting genius of a professor. FALSE. In fact he is a pretentious jack in the box, who is not concerned in the slightest with teaching the subject at hand. He is only concerned with himself. Narcissist.
Comment below was obliviously left by someone who expected to have a grade given to them. Awesome professor. Makes complicated subject matter simple. Notes given in class are all that are on test. Used book to more fully understand concepts. Lab with him was great. He doesn't try to trick you on test like some profs do. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!
I had Dr. Collier for A&P1 lecture and lab. He's a nice guy and really funny. The way he phrases questions on exams is a little confusing sometimes so make sure you ask him exactly what he's looking for. He can be a little hard to follow at first because he goes off topic alot. The class is difficult, but he's a good teacher. I would recommend him!
How should I phrase this....If you like getting tricked on test b/c of the wording of the problems and getting tested over material that you haven't covered, then this is not the class for you. However, if you like very straight forward questions on material that was covered in class, then Dr. Collier is your man. Highly Recommend!!!
Had Dr. Collier for A&P I and II lecture and lab. He is awesome!!! Just study your notes because he gives you everything you need to know to make a good grade in the class. He expects you to know the material that he lectured on sometimes down to small details, but no worries just study your notes!!!
Dr. Collier is a great professor! A&P is always a dry subject and he does his best to make it enjoyable. Lab is great with him, he takes the time to help you both in lecture and lab. He only uses the text for examples and his tests are all note based so try not to miss class. He's pretty cute too even with his crazy beard!
I had Dr. Collier for A&P I and II lecture and lab. The class is really difficult, but he takes his exam questions from his lecture. He does expect you to know minor details from the lecture notes. He's really nice though and is always willing to help. He's got a great sense of humor too.
He is an awesome Professor! He will make the class enjoyable and he will make it interesting! He's laid back but I would not say that he is very easy, because you still have to study for his exams which can be a little challenging but not really if you study! :) Good luck! Peace!
Just finished my 2nd test & it was one of the worst ive ever taken. the material was hard, i didn't put in the work, & he presented the material well, so i blame myself for not learning. but his system of waiting a week or more to give the test after finishing the test material did not help with recall & success on tests. i wont take him next time.
Took A&P 2 with him over the summer. Tests were easy as long as you read the notes and go to class. I don't like how scatter-brained he is and even has typos in his test. Still I think he treats the class fair. Very nice guy
I really like Dr Collier. He is funny and seems to care about students. He is interesting as a lecturer and uses an over head projector in clss. efinately old school. His tests are very hard. It takes a lot of work to survive in his class. But he's a good guy and kinda hot!
I liked him. He tends to tell irrelevant stories, but he does it to keep you interested and make you laugh! He is very old school and not tech-savy. Gives study guides and tells you exactly what you do and do not need to know. Only downside is waiting to take the test after starting new material. If you put forth the effort, you will make an A!
Loved him! He likes to go off topic every now and then, just to get the class more entertained, but other than that. He's quite helpful, he gives out powerpoint slides for you study on the side if you want, and also goes over it in class. If you want to take a class, without falling sleepy and whatnot, take this class, he's great! And his beard! :)
He explains everything extremely well and is very clear about the material. Awesome professor!!!
He is a nice guy but trying to get a straight answer out of him is like pulling teeth. He is a little scatterbrained which means he will go back on what he says a lot. His notes are also hard to follow but that might be because he has taught this class in several years. I wouldnt recommend if you are a type A personality, but otherwise is okay.
He is very funny - makes class interesting. He does give you everything on the test in the notes - however, the test are VERY detailed. You must know your notes forward and backwards to do well. I dropped after the first test, class average was a 63% bc I couldn't afford a C. He does curve somtimes. I could of prepared more. I would take him again.
He is the best. As long as you come to class and takes notes you will do fine. study only notes he gives, the tests are literally straight from them. Most are even word from word. You dont even have to open the book unless you werent paying attention in class. Hes very funny too!! If you want easy A Please take him!
Lectures are well organized. He keeps it interesting and he actually interacts well with his students. The test material is straight from the notes. Tests are very detailed even though he says not to stress on it too much. This course is a lot of work!!
Awesome prof, helpful doesnt put more on you than you can bear. Pay attention to the handouts (MESSAGE), and overhead notes they are your holy grail!
He is awesome. The absolute best way to receive an A in the course is to write everything that you see on his projector notes and try not to memorize the material but connect it all together and relate it to material that you already know. His tests come from his notes, but they are a bit tricky. Hope I get to take him again in the future.
Dr. Collier is an amazing professor! Intelligent, funny, and compassionate! Course: Sensory Perception. He uses a variety of teaching styles for this class. It is a lot of material but its so interesting. The tests are mc, matching and pick 2 out of 3 essay topics if I remember correctly. The research projects are tough but a lot fun! I got an A
I took Collier for Anatomy I and II. I think I would have to say he's my favorite professor at Armstrong. He was so interesting and HILARIOUS. His notes are very organized and straight to the point. The book will definitely help you get a better understanding but the test questions really do come right from the notes.
Collier is phenomenal. He is constantly cracking jokes and he will stop lecture to ask people if they are okay when they sneeze or cough. I don't know what's not to love about his class. He uses a projector so get ready to write but it will help you in the long run. Tests are straight from notes and he gives review sheets before every exam.
Collier is one of the best professors I have ever taken. His overhead notes are very clear and if you study them you can ace the exams. His exams are all multiple choice though, and can be pretty tricky. You can get an A if you work for it though.
I love Dr. Collier! He's by far one of the best professors I've ever had. He's uses overheads for his notes, but in the end it helps because you're writing more. Lectures are clear-cut and if you study your notes, you'll do well. He clearly loves what he does and is very laid back, making his classes fun. Had for A&P I and II.
Took collier for A @ P 1 and 2. As straight forward as a professor comes. Tests are Directly from the notes. Mind you he challenges your knowledge but there are no curve balls or tricks. Some questions my be tricky to test you. A@P are dense courses so lots of notes are expected. TAKE HIM Lab especially very straight forward. willing to help also.
Dr. Collier was a fun teacher and made lectures more interesting with his humor. I took him for both lecture and lab. He picked and choose topics that interested him. His tests where not easy, but they were not unfair either. He expects students to learn his notes and review the book for clarification.
I was scared to take A&P2 in a 4 wk course, but Collier made it doable. He was easy to understand, used his own notes and own test questions (vs. slidestests from the publishers) which I liked. You always know what to expect, no tricks! I had to study a lot, but made an A. Gave some extra credit, too. He's funny, practical, & laid back--take him!!
Collier is super funny and very laid back. He expects you to work hard, and if you do his class is extremely simple and enjoyable. He is not over-the-top about any of his exams, and he grades very fairly. Just study and get to know your stuff, as with all courses, and this class is extremely easy.
Dr. Collier is great! He gives 3 tests and cumulative final, and thats it. Not much room for mistakes. Tests come straight from notes, textbook pictures are helpful when studying. Don't skip class, we took 3-4 pages of notes every class!
Best professor ever!!
Collier may be the best professor I've ever had. You need to come to class because all of his tests come directly from the lectures. He's super funny and jokes around a lot. He offers some extra credit opportunities. He also really knows what he's talking about. If I could, I would take him for all of my classes. Nice beard too.
Dr. Collier is one of the better professors I've had. Go to class, take notes and study and you should do well in his class. He is very knowledgeable with the subject matter and makes the material very relate-able to the lay person. He keeps you entertained during lecture and genuinely wants his students to do well.
Collier is very nice but you must go to class to pass. Studying the book wont help.. he offers an addition to the final exam for extra credit. Dont be fooled by all the comments- the class is hard and tests are full of trick questions, loopholes, and details.. tough but passable & you learn alot! A great guy but don't mistake it for a free handout
Dr. Collier was awesome. His lectures were clear outlines of the exams and he was easy to listen to and follow along with. If you skip class, you won't pass. Every bit of information he gives us is important, and he does a great job of stressing what we need to know. I enjoyed Dr. Collier's class and am taking him again for Biol2082!
He is the best teacher that I have had. He doesn't care if you have your own lab manual or someone else's. He lets you know basically what he exactly wants you to know and gives you major hints on quizzes and some test. He doesn't care if you show up but you do have to know when the quizzes are. I HIGHLY recommend him!
AMAZING!!!! I took him for A&P1, A&P2, and A&P2 Lab. He's hilarious, fair, helpful, cares, and as long as you study the notes word for word you will make an A or B depending on how much time you invest in the class. He's the best teach I've ever had, and I wish I could take him forever.
Mr. Collier is one of the best professors I have had at Armstrong. He really makes his class fun and interesting. He is extremely goofy, and down to Earth. He always gives you a good idea what his quizzes will cover, and always gives you ample time to study. Classes often let out early, but he is ALWAYS there to answer questions you have!
Overall, Dr. Collier is a great professor and person. But if you're used to a structured, organized class I wouldn't recommend taking him. He's very scatterbrained and it can be difficult to keep up with what he's talking about. I found that I had to go to the book to learn the material myself. Also, don't expect modern tech to be used.
I'm not sure a class could be any clearer - I didn't open my book once. While some of the material is challenging, Dr. Collier tests directly / only from his notes. He's very funny and approachable. You must be personally accountable for study time and dedicated study time is a must to get a high grade. Want a free ride? You won't get it here.
He is one of my absolute favorite professors at ASU. He is so hilarious and makes the material understandable. Definitely recommend attending class because tests come straight from the notes. He is super old school and uses an overhead projector thing with the clear slides so you can't access lecture material outside of class. Would take again!!!
Professor Collier is amazing!! The material of this class is insanely heavy but he makes sure to boil it down the best he can and always gives a study guide for each exam. He really wants you to do well and he is very fair with his grading criteria. One of my favorite professors at ASU
By far one of my favorites from Armstrong/GSU. I really enjoyed his class. 4 week minimester is stressful but doable. His exams arent easy. You have to study every detail from his notes. The material is heavy but he breaks it down for you. Textbook not required. Extra credit opportunity at the end of the semester. Extremely fair grader.
Dr. Collier is hilarious during lecture. If your confused hes more than willing to clarify things for you. No text book needed in my opinion. He tells you exactly what he wants you to know. Hes also very understanding about attendance if youve got a legitimate excuse.
Amazing professor. Just make sure to attend class and you will be solid. He let's you know what you need to know and makes sure you know that the extra will not be tested. Listen to him and you will do great!
Professor Collier, in my opinion, is the best professor I have taken thus far. If you show up and take notes every class session and study only what he gives you, you will pass. Collier is hilarious and will keep the class interested with his many jokes which really helps you to understand the information. If I could take him again I would.
If you wanna pass Anatomy and Physiology take him.
LOVE HIM SO MUCH. He is a great teacher and knows what hes talking about. He made my lecture class so much easier to understand and I wish I couldve had him for lecture. He wants participation but wont force anything on anyone. Hes always super sweet and funny. Definitely cracks a few good jokes and his quizzes are based off of what he says.
We had 3 papers, two tests, a final, and that's what made up our grades. Overall, I would take him again. He was funny, and it made lectures easier to listen to. I found him to be a fair grader, and his tests weren't too hard. If you actually put the work into it, you'll be FINE in this class. He's super chill. I can't say enough good things!
Great Professor overall. 4 exams plus a final exam. That's it. He may give out extra credit assignments but little impact. Doesn't drop any test
Collier is a funny man. As long as you go to class, pay attention, and study you will do well. Textbook will help, but is not required. The only graded material consisted of 4 exams, plus a partially cumulative final. My advice: attend lecture, and you'll do well.
Such an amazing professor. He is funny and makes lecture interesting. Graded by 4 tests and a final.
I re-took a&pII online and he had great simplified explanations- just like an everyday discussion. The textbook was optional but I preferred his explanations. The graded material/ questions were pulled from his explanation's. The final exam was replaced with highest grade if you had taken everything on time.
literally amazing. so funny and makes lectures worth it. I took A&P 2 with lab. Lab have like 4-5 practicals and quizzes about every other week. Need to show up to lecture so that you can take good notes. He often gives hints and little clues about what is going to be on the test. lecture had like 4-5 test with 1 extra credit op
I took Dr. Collier for AP2 and AP2 lab. He is awesome! He's hilarious, even in an online class setting I was laughing. One of my favorite teachers ever. His lectures are clear and he makes clear what he expects you to know, so if you do it, you will do well in the class. Take him! He's great!! Made AP fun!
Took Mr. Collier for A&P 2 lab and lecture. One of the best teachers I've ever had. Wish he taught A&P 1. Highly highly recommend.
He's the best!! He makes it very clear what the expectations are and is super funny. Couldn't recommend enough
He is very knowledgeable and transparent with you about what is expected and what to do. Don't be afraid to ask for help, he is kind and won't shame you for not understanding. He is not a harsh grader, he's mostly just looking for you to try your best. Definitely take him!
Professor Collier is an awesome, goofy teacher who makes the class fun. Attend lectures, study his notes, and you'll do well. Unstuck AI was a great study tool on top of the free textbook.
