Horrible, his lectures are illegible and not helpful, he test you on homework days before it's due, he expects you to answer summary question precisely, grades on a percentage, trick questions on quiz's, use notes on quiz but not on mid or final. Stats 2 do not take this kid, (he's 30) you'll regret it I promise you!!!!

I am not impressed with this instructor. His lectures are unclear, he takes shortcuts in his examples of concepts instead of going step-by-step. He only gives 20mins for quizs that are usually two long form story problems that you have to parse just to get all the base data. and then expects you to show your work and write out a statement.

I feel like he gets a kick out of being smarter than his students and likes to point out how smart he is by skipping steps in his lectures and throwing curveballs on quizes (that regard the homework that's not due for 2 days). Take a different teacher, he'll be better in a couple years maybe..

I agree partly about the unclear lectures. He does not do baby steps... assuming students should be catching on. Good for some, bad for most. As for the quizzes, they were DIRECTLY from the HW. You could use HW & notes during so it was just copying if you did the work (which was not too extensive). Helpful at office hrs. I struggled but liked him.

I was in the 244 that those people below were in. Alex had to deal with some real belligerent dummies. Hmwk *was* due on the day of the quiz. 2 days later was when the separate written part was due. Quiz #'s were straight from the assignment. I for one appreciated his skipping basic addition and multiplication in a 200 lvl class.

I was very nervous going into his class because of the bad peer reviews but this was a really great class! Alex would even go out of his way to inform you on how to correct your mistakes and how you can pass the class. Very informative when it comes to answering your questions. And is very forgiving on assignments. (Would recommend)

I was going through tough times and I thought it would be hard for me to pass but Mr. Alex stuck with me till the end and always gave feedback on what to do. At the end I passed thanks to him. Might not be the best material in class but definitely the perfect teacher. Very caring about his students.

I had really good experience taking class from this professor he really put time into helping students individually inside and out of class, wanted his students to do well, was understanding when need be but still offered a pretty well rounded class with just enough challenge to keep me engaged. I would definitely recommend & take from him again.

A seriously great teacher, he gives one on one help in his office hours, and they were absolutely instrumental in getting me a good passing grade. He's really nice and the grading deadlines for some assignments are really flexible, very generous.

I hadnt taken a math class for a couple years before I took this course however, Alex was very helpful in explaining things the book treated as common knowledge and was very accessible by email for questions about both technical errors and troubles with homework problems.

I loved taking Professor Jordans class! I was never a big fan of math in high school, but he has a great way of leading you to the answer and not making you feel dumb for not knowing. I think distance learning is always hard, but it was nice to be able to see some of his quirky personality pop through in class. Great professor!!

My goodness I'm every thankful to have had Mr. Jordan as a math professor. Honestly he was well prepared and thoroughly into teaching and making sure you knew where you were and what you could do to get your grade up. Office hours were great for me. *I actually took 251, which wasn't an option? I had a really hard time in this class. His homework was significantly more difficult than the tests, and there were a lot of word problems. I probably would've gotten a better grade had I turned in unfinished assignments/asked for help, but instead I had anxiety attacks and felt stupid :')

This professor was difficult to reach outside class and was a tough grader. I had been receiving worse grades than my male counterparts in the class despite having the same answers!!! His materials in my class were not his own (videos or homework) and could be found off of google. Exam process was difficult too.

A lot of homework, but if you do it all you are pretty much guaranteed a passing grade, you WILL understand the material if you do all the homework. There are parts you could skip that arent worth very many points like lecture notes but if you're watching the lecture anyway.... just take the notes. Good class, chill professor.

I had a very poor experience with this professor. He is unnecessarily harsh with feedback, and does not even teach any of his online coursework. All learning is put on the student, and this professor relies on YouTube videos made by someone else. He had ridiculous expectations, and intense weekly homework. Do not pick this professor!

I got what I needed out of this class, didn't love it. Graded labs were harder than lecture (online HW even harder) which we got no feedback on. Major tests that determined your grade were your only real pieces of feedback, which he graded harshly. Lectures were dry, he always stood in front of what he just wrote. No extra credit opportunities.

He explains things clearly during his lectures and is helpful during office hours. Class is spent on 1.5-2 hours of lecture, and then working on homework individually or in groups. Weekly homework consists of a ~4 page worksheet, and some online exercises. Homework is worth 50% of your grade, exams(3 total) are worth 48%, and attendance 2%.

Very engaging lectures—Alex also often reviews tricky homework problems during class. The homework is difficult, but good preparation for tests, which are easy by comparison. One negative is that graded homework is sometimes returned fairly late, but tests are graded promptly. Overall, my favorite math professor at PCC—would highly recommend.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. MTH 251 is a difficult class, but Mr. Jordan makes it much easier by breaking down problems in a simple and clear way. He is always available to help. I went from almost passing to earning an A. One advice i would suggest is don't hesitate to ask questions—he turns lemon questions into lemonade.
