Not to particularly hard, just study before the tests and you'll be fine.
He lectures the whole time. The is a comprehensive final. I wouldn't recomend him.
Online course is 8 weeks-totally unorganized and a disaster. Never replies to emails or questions. Obviously puts no effort into teaching the class. Says a test will be available on Sunday-no test until Tues night at midnight. Not organized
Sorry but he is not very informative. His tests are hard and your coursework doesn't count towards your grade. If your not a good test taker, don't even think about taking this class, your whole grade is based on tests.
Business Law is not an easy subject but all he requires you to know is the basic conceptual stuff. I never studied, and I got an A. Nice guy. All tests are scantron form. Easy class.
I thought his lectures complemented the book well. The tests weren't that bad as long as you keep up. He was pretty fair. I recommend him if you plan on putting in a little effort.
Don't take him, particularly for an online class. He is a complete disorganized disaster. Saddleback took him off the distance class because of complaints and, amazingly, he's still here. Don't know what it takes to prove that a teacher needs to be removed, because this guy is the worst.
Good professor if you know how to act like an adult and actully go to and pay attention in class. No homework. Mult. choice tests. If you need constant supervision or don't know how to read, he is not the pro. for you. If you can act like an adult, he is a great teacher for you. 1 easy group project
I am taking 2 online classes. One is wonderful - Econ - the other is ACCT 1B. Very hard to reach him and unorganized. Test schedule is not accurate. Correct answers on the test were marked incorrect! It's too difficult to take online and unorganized!
A little unorganized, but I really think he tries to be fair. He let us convince him to make his tests open book! You have to be willing to put in a bit of effort into his classes if you want to do well, but that's what learning is all about, right?
Took his class online, SO HARD gave up. He never responded to my emails and the group project was a disaster. Retaking next semester hopefully w/ someone else. Dont take online, too hard and tests are hard and not out of the book.
what idiot would take an accounting class online. Dude, take his class, and you're guarenteed to learn and get a heck of a grade. Promise!
the tests are not too bad... allows u to drop ur lowest score.... pretty easy
On the tests he lets you use notes but not on the Final, so its pretty hard (cumulative). He is horrible at e-mailing, unreliable. You HAVE to hold him accountable for your own grade b/c he will screw it up. Got a "B". If you must take him you'll live but be on your guard!
I took both professors, and this one is the man for 1B. Stay away from Deguerro! Llorente explains everything; I mean everything! You won't go wrong.
i took his online class.. didn't learn a thing but i got a B.. amazing..
Llorente was great!!! He gets all his test questions from the book publishers. Just skim chapters and stay half awake during lecture and you will do well. i took him for BUS 14 too. Got an easy A in both!

Pretty out of control, assigned a project (paper and presentation) without passing out any requirements. Doesn't tell you enough in lecture or anywhere to prepare you for tests. He's prettty boring. Tests and pretty hard, considering you aren't aptly prepared and Final is cumulative.
Pretty cool, pretty easy and he gives copies of all tests in LAP and just copies and pastes them for the final it was an easy 100% on the final and as long as you read the chapters word for word once, the tests aren't hard
Your grade is composed of 4 exams, a group project, and a final. His lectures are kind of disorganized, and taking good notes in class is pretty hard to do, so buy the book, and read every single page. If you do that, and do well on the group project, you should be able to barely get an A like I did. However, if you plan not to read, good luck.
Good teacher. If you do your homeworks ,then you will do well on the exams.
Best accounting teacher at Saddleback. I took him for 1A and got an A+. Doesn't collect homework, but if you don't do it you will bomb the tests, trust me. If you can work a calculator and know basic math he is your guy.
Nice guy, knows his stuff. He was helpful in the beginning of the semester but kind of gave up on my class during the end. His tests are all scantron, so they're not that difficult. He can get boring unless you're enthusiastic about Accounting. I would recommend taking Deaguero instead.
Basically I was the only one in my class that did homework. He got frustrated and anyone that didn't do the homework had to learn it on their own. I got a 88% but the average grade was in the 60's. Do the homework and show up, you'll be fine. If you feel like slacking off and wasting your time, you'll get the grade you deserve.
Do not take this class!!! I never miss class and do all my homework.. In the 1st 2 weeks, he barely taught us anything about the subject, acted like you already should know the material & expects you to be able to do the homework (too much, not enough time or info given). Thank God I dropped it. Prof Teng is the best- easy class, great teacher =)
I thought he was a pretty awesome teacher. There was a lot of homework but if you did the homework, you did great on the tests.
Useless! Expects you to already be familiar with the material BEFORE he even goes over it. You might as well take this class online, because he's not really a teacher (he always looks tired- he has his own law office and teaches almost full time. he looks likes he never wants to be there!)
he knows what he is talking about, but he is not good at explaining things.
He is not good at explaining AT ALL! He doesn't teach! HE only does examples and expects the class to follow along.
Pretty much useless. It's like an online class yet you are tested like it's not. This man gave up on teaching years ago. He seems to be there for the paycheck. Four tests and a final make up the bulk of the grade. More than half of my class was failing, so don't take him thinking he is easy. You'll be teaching yourself the subject.
He is simply teaching for free health insurance. He never found my first test, so he simply made up a grade. I was embarrassed with the school's lack of concern with his teaching. I was in a 7 to 930 pm class and we were let out no later than 830. He is the worst professor at Saddleback and needs to be replaced immediately.
Quite possibly the worst accounting teacher ever! We almost always left at least an hour early. He doesn't have any powerpoints or any specific notes. He teaches only examples asked by other students. He seems so bored during every class, like he really didn't want to be there! its not the subject, its the teacher. TAKE PROF TENG! You will learn!
WOW. SO BORING! I was an accounting major, but he literally made me think twice about it everytime I went to class. He is very unclear and it is so difficult to keep up because he goes so fast. Nice guy, bad teacher
He assumes you will have to read the book before class. Do homeword as he assigns it to you. He goes thru lecture pretty fast. Both 1A ad 1B have the same final group project. The final test are come from questions from the other tests you have taken during the semester. If you are slow and get bored easily, dont take his class.
As long as you actually go to class, and do the homework, this is one of the easiest classes i've ever had. Sure he isn't the most exciting teacher ever, but he does examples which explain everything you need to know. If you have question, you ask, he explain more and all is well.
The worst teacher Ive EVER had. Class was pretty easy buthe cannot teach to save his life. Dosent even know the answers to some of his own problems!! extremly boring and frusterating class, its true, he is only teaching for the medical benefits.
This class was easy. Just do the hw and he gives you all the answers for the tests. If you ask questions he will answer them. You have one group project.
OMG he is by far the worst teacher I have EVER had. Let me just say that every time I went to class, I left feeling like I had lost brain cells. This guy is a joke. He assumes you know how to do everything and if you don't, he yells at you. He talks to the class like were all idiots. Its aggravating. Please take someone else for your own good.
suuper boring class.. he def. plays farmville like the WHOLE class when he isnt writing on the bored. lots of hw that's mandatory and he goes thru the chapters fast, so if your not there one class.. good luck. multiple choice tests, final xam pretty easy. all the questions are from the hw
Great professor!
Makes me hate accounting, He's not meant to teach, he's lazy about writing prob. on the board & what he does write hes sloppy. I stopped coming to class in the middle of the semester when I started getting better test scores when i taught myself. Take Tang!
Stay away from him if you want to learn managerial accounting. I didn't learn one thing in his class take Teng or anyone else. His teaching style makes you just want to kill yourself or sit on your computer all day. As I said STAY AWAY!!!
Really boring class but really easy. I barely went to class and taught myself and got an A. there were 4 homework assignments (1 before every test). He offered up to 10 points extra credit on each test and the final had the exact same questions as the previous 4 tests. There's a group paper and presentation but overall it wasn't a bad class
4 homework assignments before each test. About 35 questions each. Its all done online. Very easy to do. 4 tests and a final. The test questions are taken from the homework and the final is the test questions. Final is cumulative. He is not enthusiastic at all. Sometimes you get the feeling he doesn't want to be there. Be prepared to teach yourself.
By far the one of the worse professors I've ever had. There's no enthusiasm from him at all. Class is a complete waste of time. All he does is go over homework, and he doesn't teach anything. Don't expect an actual professor if you take him. He doesn't reply to emails, so getting help is out of the question. Be prepared to fly solo.
Smart guy, really knows his stuff. I'm transitioning into a new accounting career and I learned a lot in his class. I felt we should have had more time for tests though.
If you want help from this professor, you will have to contact him in person, because he rarely responds to e-mail. The class was boring at times, but usually ended early. The four homework assignments were lengthy, but weren't overly challenging. There are nearly 40 points of extra credit available.
Overall i though he was a good teacher, very straightforward he teaches you what you need for the tests... if you do the homework and pay attention and do the extra credit you really should get an A. I'm going to take hime again for 1B
Do all the Homework and extra credit the Tutoring Lab helps if you go at least 2x a week with questions
Attend class. Do the homework. Total of 50 points (5%) extra credit available - do it! It's easy and gets you ready for test questions. One big group project (paper and presentation), which isn't too bad if you split work equally. No excuse for a bad grade if you do HW & EC.
Professor Llorente does a great job explaining why tax laws are applicable. His experience as an IRS agent and CPA are very helpful in explaining tax. Do the homework, go to class, and take your time on the tax returns, you will get an A. Don't take this class if you want an easy A. That said, if you want to learn tax, take his class!
Be sure to do the extra credit! there is a lot of homework and the tests are not very difficult. The subject is very boring in my opinion and he does not make it interesting
overall, i think he is a great teacher. i took him for accounting 1 and 2 and both times learnt a lot. he is very straightforward and teaches you for the test go to class and do the homework
Lorente is the most monotone and one of the worst teachers I've ever had. I would choose any other professor. I learned more on the first day of class in Bowmans class then I did the entire semester with Llorente. Llorente is probably a great accountant but can NOT teach for anything. He also assigns WAY more homework than other teachers.Stay away!
Took Llorente for 1A and 1B. 1B format is basically identical to 1A - do HW & extra credit and the material should be easy to master. Lectures can be boring (very monotone). Definitely bring a laptop to work through homework problems
Oh wow, this class was never ending. He's terribly disorganized, BUT, there is a reason to take his class. If you do ALL the extra credit, all the homework, and do well on the group project, you can get Ds on all the exams and still get a C. He really didn't teach the material, so rely on the points to get a good grade or passing grade.
He is so boring. i regret taking this class over the summer because it super quick and mon-thursday is the worst thing i could have done. the class is fairly easy just do the homework, extra credit (takes forever) so set yourself some time, but should get your though the class. agh he is so dry.
Everything you've seen before about this professor definitely has some weight. Extra credit is a must, if you want to do well. The final is the four MC tests copied and pasted. Bone-dry personality. Only seemed to be there to pick up the paycheck. On the plus side, what he covers in class WILL BE on the test, guaranteed.
Just horrible. Can't keep his examples straight and just teaches off homework without even touching the book. I just zone off and read the book instead and I get A's on the test. The lectures are just a waste of my time
Horrible teacher, but gives a ton of extra credit. If you get B's and C's on the tests you can get an A in the class. He explains things horribly and always lets class out at least an hour early.
Read all material, do all assignments, attend lectures and you'll do fine. I was not impressed with Professor Llorente's teaching style, but that's just my opinion. I prefer teachers that are more organized and knowledgeable. His extra credit and eliminated questionsanswers on exams makes up for the confusion.
Not organized. Doesn't follow syllabus. Doesn't use the book, he doesn't even own it. Does not come prepared. Lectures are confusing, usually stories from when he was an IRS auditor. Test questions taken from old CPA exam. Do not take him if you are interested in understanding individual income tax. You will be teaching yourself!
Just enrolled in ACCT 1A class such a nice guy. Very respectful to all the students and is extremely clear on what to do. Basically goes over homework and answers everyones questions, He's extremely clear on explaining accounting and what is involved I really like his class BTW You can use your accounting book for next semester Acct 1B.
Really nice guy, though very monotone. Pretty much just do the online HW, read the book, do all of the extra credit, and you're set. If you get B's and C's on the tests, you can easily get an A in the class due to all of the EC opportunities. Taking him again for 1B.
If you get Bs on all the tests, group project, and final, you will get an A in the class by turning in all of the extra credit & hw. I took the 6 week course, and it was a good amount of work to get the hw and extra credit finished. Make sure to take notes and ask questions. He will help do almost all of the homework if you ask for his help.
he seems alright so far. he isn't very detailed in anything that he really teaches. I dont know how his exams are yet but from what i have understood so far is that you're basically going to fly solo the entire time and he does not really care about his students. homework is tedious but he is a very nice guy and will give you help if you need it
Learned a lot, he' s a very nice man and will help you if you need help. Do your home works, and do not miss the class then you'll do fine in the class.
Llorente is a chill dude. Literally do the Connect HW and practice tests with a bit of book review and you'll get an easy A. I showed up maybe 2 times besides for the 4 tests (beginning of class and the group presentation) and got a 96%, though he does take attendance. Many extra credit opportunites. I'm taking him for 1B right now; you should too!
Pfft... he doesn't even own the book.... do the homework and the learn smart(even though they are extra credit) and the practice tests if you really want to pass.... oh... and the final is pulled from the four tests throughout the course....
He's alright he's not the worst professor. He gives a good amount of extra credit. Final is really easy I got D's on the exams and an 100 on the final. He's very monotone I was always watching YouTube videos in his class. But like I said he's not the worst out there I would take him again and he's funny sometimes
Professor Llorente is a straightforward guy. He tells you exactly what you have to do to get an A and provides plenty of extra credit. He practically does the homework for you in class which is 200 free points, out of 1000. His lectures are boring obviously, it's accounting people. Put in a little effort and you can easily manage an A or B.
I know you hear a lot of bad things about this guy but he really isn't that bad. Just do the homework and do good on the group project and he gives you the answers to the final. He gives around 50 points of extra credit which is like no joke. He's nice sometimes only problem with him for me is my attention span in his class is 10 minutes
DO NOT take Llorente if you ACTUALLY WANT t to learn the practice of ACCOUNTING. He barely does enough to get by. Shows up to class late, regurgitates whatever he can remember that relates to what the class is supposed to be learning, and answers homework questions. Oh, and takes over 2 weeks to input grades on blackboard!
He is very specialized in accounting but he assumes everybody thinks it is easy, most of his points are vague and i taught myself to pass the class. If you are a freshman taking accounting courses, find a different professor he is just boring
People mistake this guy for like a demon or something. I took my full year of accounting with this professor and he taught me a lot. He's pretty nice and tells you what you need to do to pass. Now his accounting 1B class was way harder than his 1A class by an extreme amount but if you pull through you can pass the class easily
He's monotone, but he tells you exactly what is needed to get an A. He does the homework in class, which is 200 free points out of 1000. The LearnSmarts are essentially 30 points of extra credit. Tests are medium level, pulled from random parts of the book and sometimes HW. He gives you the answers to the final. Easy A - I'd take him again.
If you fail this class it is your fault. All i can say is as long as you keep up with the material instead of waiting until the last weekend it will be extremely disadvantageous. If you do the homework and have questions ready for class he will answer them respectfully and substantially. If you did not do the home work and have no questions G luck.
I gave him a chili pepper cause he's laid back and that's hot. What I like about this professor is he lets students take the wheel. You will get the grade YOU earn. I recommend this class if you are self motivated. I do NOT recommend to students who need hand holding. LEARN the first few chapters well. They are fundamental to passing the class.
Took this professor for 1A and 1B. Grade is based off four tests, a cumulative final, group project, and homework. As long as you do the homework and extra credit, you can fail every test and still make it out with a B. His lectures are very boring so take your laptop to work through the homework problems, he does a few in class.
Took him for 1A as well - ultimately a repeat with new concepts. This guy is just fine, with the exception of being dull. Tells you exactly what to do to get an A. You can fail every test and still get at least a B by doing all extra credit and studying the final (which he literally gives you the exact answers to memorize). Easiest A Ive received.
Begins his class by stating you can only take his class three times. Not a good selling point. Why would students need to take your college course more than once? Almost entirely self-taught the course, would not recommend if you want to keep a sustainable GPA.
He did not plan his classes and if you are going to have his class don't do it at tax time. He will not have anything together and when it comes to test time you can expect the same. One of the worst Professors that you could get. Get ready to read because you are going to teach yourself.
Please just find another teacher for the love of god
Probably the worst teacher I have ever had in my life. Super unprepared for everything. Gave lectures for the first 2 or 3 weeks then just stopped doing them entirely. We had timed quizzes at a set time each week and he just forgot to post them multiple times so everyone was just sitting there waiting for the quiz to be posted. Basically useless
Not one of the best professors to adapt to the COVID crisis, although the institution has to be accounted for as well. He does not make clear and announce what assignments are due, or puts them on the Canvas calendar, which indicates that the online meetings were crucial. This is a shame to those who cant regularly make scheduled calls and work.
Took him for financial accounting two summers ago. Professor had very straightforward and easy to follow lectures. I only went to class about once twice a week (class was 4 days/week). There was no homework, only midterms that were all multiple choice, and he provided practice questions that he took exam questions from. Easy class, easy professor.
Nothing was made clear in this class, no structure. Quiz every week that is nothing like the lectures or homework and he gives no time to take them. He takes forever to respond to emails and is very short and doesn't answer all the questions. I tried very hard in this class and still received the lowest grade in my academic history. Lectures boring
He's not bad at all! He's very monotone when he speaks, kinda puts me to sleep. I did hybrid class. On zoom he goes over homework, I slept most the time. LOTS OF HOMEWORK. He does 3 assignment a week, 2 of them TAKE A LOT of time. Lectures are weak, he shows PowerPoint and links videos off YouTube. NOT A BAD TEACHER, hard but not too hard of class
Absolutely abhorrent. Never in my life have I had a professor this bad. Never responds to emails, TONS of homework, awful quizzes that use proctorio (spyware). Lectures are super boring and it doesn't help with his very monotone voice. Overall a terrible class, please listen to the other 1 star reviews! I ignored them and look what came out of it.
Please please save your money and do not take this professor. he makes it extremely difficult to pass his class and is mono tone on all his lectures. another alternative will be taking Jane Medilng for accounting, you will not regret it. the only thing you will regret is taking professor llornete.
I chose another professor and was put into his class for some reason. First of all he gets very agitated when you ask him questions. There is a LOT of HW due every week and they take FOREVER to finish. there is one with 100 plus questions for 3 points. Be ready to be bored out of your mind during his lectures and to teach yourself the material.
He was awful. Horrible at describing how different accounting processes were done. I pretty much felt like I was sitting in a 2-hour class just for him to call us dumb for not knowing the answers to "5-second problems" as he would put it. If you do all the work he assigns u should b ok. The final is 30% of ur grade.
The lectures are long and the homework take a long time as well. The quizzes and homework are not very difficult but are very time consuming. The final is worth 30% of your grade and covers all of the chapters, was by no means easy. Would not take any course with this professor again.
It's a tough class, but you will learn a LOT about accounting. Which is why I took the class.
