Had him for micro test hard and expects allot

I love this teacher. His love of the subject matter really gave me the engery to learn such a boring subject. His grading is fair. He expects a lot and with effort, a good grade can be obtained. After all he is teaching future doctors and nurses and to expect a cake walk is unrealistic.

Dr. Lowery is a wonderful teacher. His class is taught in a systmatized manner.Yes his class was a challenge,but you learned a lot. I don't know who the person was that said that he was not helpful, did you as for help because if you did he would have helped you.I suggest that you go over new naterial each night and you will do well in the class.

Hes a smart guy and is clear on his subject material. The class is not too difficult, but you will need to study atleast and hour a day if you want an A. Lab is fun and interesting just study for the prelab quizzes. Unit 4 was the hardest so really study for that one, there is a lot of information. I would take him again. Recommended

GREAT TEACHER! Class does cover a lot of material, take good notes and use his study list and the class is a breeze. Unit 4 is the hardest! Very fair, and very helpful! I recommend him for Micro!

This man knows his stuff and he teaches it well. Its just hard stuff to learn.

Nice guy, knows his stuff! I do not recommend short session if you work full time and have family. Alot of info and he expects you to know it. Short session does not allow you to learn the material, only memorize. Overall he is a good teacher!Read everday or fall behind!

Dr.Lowery is great. I have taken him 2 semesters and love him. He gives great lect. notes,only has 6 tests and gives an extra credit project. His tests are hard but if you attend class and study your notes you will do fine.

Lowrey is a great teacher. His lectures are so concise and relevant to the tests that I managed to Get A's in Anatomy and Phisiology I+II and Micro without ever opening my book!

He was very organized and that was extremely helpful. Sometimes he does come across a little curt and rude when dealing with students. I didn't appreciate that. But overall, a good teacher.

He's hard but good, he's very nice and grades fair. He lectures are always interesting and he's funny. I would take him again and again. His door is always open and he lets you make up anything, no matter what.

This is a hard class no matter what techer you have. Dr. Lowery is really good at what he does though. He made the material easier to understand and really seemed interested in the subject. He gives you great notes and the test are very straight foward. I would def. take him again.

be prepared to study study study! I made As in A/P but Micro is so much harder. its going to be a challenge. Dr Lowrey is great. Micro is hard no matter who teaches it, but if you have to take it, take Lowrey!

I love Dr. Lowery! He is the smartest professor I have ever taken! I took him for A&P 1 and 2 and also Micro. The class is hard period but Dr. Lowery is so straight forward and welling to help you.If you have to take this class dont sweat it! He's so intelligent, he grows on you! if you made good in A&P then thats good practice for Micro because you'll have to work even harder; not as much stuff, but harder to learn. Its the hardest class Ive ever taken..... but take Lowrey, he's the best!

THIS IS THE HARDEST CLASS IVE EVER TAKEN. I THOUGHT THIS IS OVER MY HEAD BUT I MADE A "B" AND IT'S ALL DUE TO DR LOWREY. HE IS AN AMAZING, GIFTED TEACHER.

I highly recommend Dr Lowrey b/c without his brillant instruction I could have never did so well in Micro. I took A&p with him and made As and Bs in split session so I thought after A&p miCRO or anything would be easy...NO! MICRO IS THE HARDEST CLASS IVE EVER TAKEN. Everyone is right in that this is an extremely difficult class! Dr. Lowrey is a good professor other than the fact that his personal skills are lacking. He comes across almost snotty when answering questions. He is very educated in the material, though, and if you put the effort in, you will do fine. I got an A and I didn't think that was possible!

He is an excellent teacher, extremely intelligent and very fair. He gives the most extra credit chances I have ever had the entire time at GSC which was many years. The class was hard in the summer semester along with another class, but I still earned a "b" since he gives so much extra credit.

All things are possible.Honestly I was praying and studying alot to pass this class. Amazingly I got A's in Lecture and Lab. Study hard, and ask questions. He is willing to help for those who seek help. I went in his office once and asked questions. Don't be intimidated and have a good attitude, Dr Lowery will help you.

He is very helpful. Class is hard. Study handouts, read book and study notes. Gives Extra credit and do well on project. Get to know him so he will help you out.

My greatest achievement at GSC was making a B in MicroBiology... Was very hard!!! Dr Lowrey is a GREAT professor.

The hardest class I have ever taken in college. Lowrey doesn't necessarily make the material any easier. Just be prepared to study and read the text book every day for this class! The final was horrendous!

Dr. Lowrey is a great teacher who really knows his stuff but Microbiology was one of the hardest classes I've taken. You REALLY have to study a lot to do well. His tests are super hard because the information is not straight forward and he never says exactly what is gonna be on the test. TONS of memorization! Lab was really really easy though!

Great professor! His tests are not easy, but if you study his handouts & lecture notes, you can do well! He gives you everything you need (study those handouts!). He was always willing and available to help. Extra credit opportunities. I thought he was a great person & professor!

Love this guy's personality. He makes learning oncology and bacteria as fun as it can be. He brings in models and gives great explanations. Hard material, but great professor. Get ready to study your head off. PS: I wish he was my dad. very nice guy!

Awesome teacher! Absolutely loved his class! Tests are tough but as long as you take good notes and definitely study all his handouts and material on Shared Class Files, you will be fine. Lab is really interesting and pretty easy. GREAT class and teacher! Definitely take him if you can!

Study your notes and handouts!!! His tests are completely based off these. Only use the book as a reference..You can not memorize in this class..His tests are HARD, you need to understand the material. I made a B in lecture and worked very hard for it. He gives extra credit and a few projects to do which he grades very fairly.

Dr. Lowrey is a nice guy and great teacher! I had him for lab and lecture and really enjoyed his class. Study, study, study your notes and handouts and you will do fine! He really has a passion for this subject and makes you want to learn! I highly recommend him. His class is not easy but it is interesting and if you study you will be fine! :)

He is a sweet professor & is passionate about what he teaches. His tests are a little hard so study your notes! He has review sessions two days before the exam, which helped alot! He also gives extra credit.

Great teacher, but he's hardcore! Tests have way to much material on them and are ridiculously hard (because of the all the details). The only lifesaver is the HW and EC videos he gives. If you're good at memorizing, then this is the course for you. I personally almost had an aneurysm during this class but somehow ended up with an A.

Very nice person and great professor. Dr. Lowrey cares about the success of his students and is always available to give extra help if you seek it. This class is intense, but he provides you all the information needed to make an A, you just have to understand the "how" so that you can critically think through to the conclusion. Recommended!!

Dr. Lowrey is a great teacher but this class is super hard. Thank goodness he gives a TON of extra credit. His tests are ridiculously detailed but he does drop the lowest one. He seems to be a pretty easy grader when it comes to the homework and the project( which are both group things).

Professor highly recommended! You will have to put in work to get an A but it's very doable. 4 tests and 1 final. He drops the lowest test and you have to take the final. He has about 5 homework pieces and 1 project. He gives out PLENTY of extra credit. If you do all the EC you can bring your grade up 1 whole letter. Study for the final early!

Dr. Lowrey is one of the greatest prof. at Gainesville. He is so incredibly generous and sweet. He gives you PLENTY of extra cred. (An entire 10 ECred pts-- which are very easy) & 6 HW assignments. His tests are pretty tough, but if you put in the work, making an A is very doable. I really recommend taking lecture&lab (he's very helpful for both)

His lectures are amazing! he is such a great professor. Attend class because his notes must be studied for the test ! His tests are very tough , im glad he was available to help me when I needed it . He gives enough Extra credit , I highly recommend him for micro!

His tests are VERY difficult, and he will let you know he asks "tricky" questions. Def study hard. he gives EC, be sure to get all points (10). Do all HW, and take it seriously, I've gotten EC on HW before as well. take the final seriously too. Got all B's all exams, made an A on the final made an A in the class! Study shared class files ALWAYS!

If you know you are going to take this class, go ahead and start studying. Go to his shared class files and just memorize everything. Do the extra credit and do all the homework assignments ahead of time because things move fast. He is so passionate about micro, and you will love him!

Dr. Lowrey is not easy but he gives you everything you need to get an A in the course, that is, if you are willing to do the work. Do all of the handouts, go to all extra credit opportunities, and your grade will reflect it. A tough course but he is an extremely fair professor. Loved the course and learned a ton.

Lowrey is one of the best microbiology professors at UNG! His class is very difficult. Do not take another hard class with this one. Take good notes, do all homework, do all extra credit and you should be fine. Like everyone else, take the final seriously. Made low Bs on tests and got an A thanks to extra credit and final

Dr. Lowrey is a great professor but if you are not willing to put in the effort, don't expect to get very far. I learned a ton in this class and he gives you everything you need to succeed, including study guides, but his tests are very conceptual- so you need to know your stuff inside and out to get an A. Study the shared class files!

The hardest part of this class is the last month when you study for two tests at once, so be prepared for that. The rest of the class was very easy to balance with other responsibilities in my life. Know the lecture notes inside and out. You only need the textbook for the assigned portions of the book. There are easy extra credit opportunities.

Dr. Lowrey is AMAZING! He will give you the materials needed to succeed, but you have to put in the work. Tests are very conceptual, but if you study his study lists and pay attention in lecture, you will do just fine! I spent a lot of time each week studying and ended up with a high A. Hes a very smart and respectable man. He will know if youre trying your best by doing your extra credit and turning in your homework. You need to stay on top of the homeworks. They are not as hard as they look; just take your time and read and ask him questions. Exams are tricky I made a high C on one I think and I passed with a B. (Still shook)

He is a brilliant man with lots of knowledge to offer! Pay attention, go to class and understand the concepts! If you do, the class wont be a problem! Most importantly take his lab, it is super fun!

His class is hard but he really does give you everything you need to succeed in the class. PAY ATTENTION IN LECTURE! His lectures line up with study lists almost perfectly. But make sure you study because the tests are no joke. If you have any questions he will for sure answers them. Such a good guy and is super passionate about microbiology.

This is not an easy course, but Dr. Lowrey gives what you need, and definitely, he is a fair grader. He is very understanding and helpful and gives you many extra credit options. He is always willing to help students and easily accessible. I love his teaching style, but you have to study and understand the concept, instead of just memorizing.

Most of the bad ratings for Prof. Lowrey is most likely from an online course student. This is a tough class in general & taking it online makes it ten times harder. I had him last Fall semester in person & he was great. He wants you to pass & will help you in any way he can. He makes lecture interesting & understandable. My favorite teacher at UNG

Dr. Lowrey is honestly one of the best professors Ive had in my college career. He is very passionate about his teaching and everything he does. He gets super excited about what he is teaching you that sometimes I was astonished by how excited he was. He is always willing to work with his students and always puts them first. He takes this subject seriously and it shows. He writes a lot on the board and has pretty good handwriting. I would recommend reviewing all anatomy/physiology notes you have before taking this class because he dives in assuming you know a good amount of immunology. You need to study everyday to get an A.

(for 4060) Dr. Lowrey is a kind and passionate professor with HARD exams. But, I will say that his class is interesting, and I am glad I now know this material and can apply it to my future career in medicine. No textbook, which makes studying hard, but I recorded lectures, which helped, and made sure to take notes over the picture powerpoints.
