Hard to approach with math woes....but he is REALLY caring and wants each student to succeed in his class and beyond.......*cough* I got a D in his class.....
good teacher gives easy tests, his review sheets are his tests so very nice person helps u on the exams :)
really good teacher has really good teaching methods and as long as you pay attention and do your work you will get a descent grade in this class
Nabulsi is the best professor I have ever had, he explains everything very clearly and is always available to help you if you approach. Come to Class, Approach him, do your work, and put effort and he will help you out! He is one the best one professors and teachers and definitely knows his stuff. He always is a very calm and laid back person.
LOVE, LOVE,LOVE THIS TEACHER!! cant stress enough how he made me think of Math. He is very helpful, explains the subject well enough that 6th grade student can understand. i would highly recommend him
Best Professor. Always there when you need help. His lecture is easy to understand and follow. tell all your friends who wants to take any math class to take him
Best math teacher I've had in my whole life! So clear w/ expectations & very willing to help. If you attend class everyday you will get a good grade. Gives review sheets before every test which helps tremedously. Great personality & makes class fun!
Great Teacher. As long as you are there to learn, you'll pass the class with flying colors! Had a blast, made class fun! Only downside was late night classes cut into taco tuesday night!
Professor Nabulsi was one of the better math teachers I have had. He's friendly and easy to comrehend. As long as you attend every class and participate a bit this teacher will give you a grade based off of both points earned and the effort he belives you put in. Great teacher I highly recommend!!
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER! Hillarious and a great instructor. If you have questions ask him he explains in a way unlike other teachers and makes the difficult class so easy!
GREAT TEACHER. If you attend class and do the assigned homework (which isn't bad at all), he will definitely pass you. He is the best and most clear math teacher ever. Every other math teacher makes math seem hard and confusing but he made it easy and understandable. Great preparation for higher math classes! He wants you to learn and pass.
Professor Nabulsi is awesome. He explains things very thoroughly, and makes Math a lot easier than other teachers. He's really nice too, and always gives plenty of opportunities for questions and help. One thing to watch out for though: He makes A LOT of little mistakes while doing problems on the board...so make sure you're following along!
Great professor! He assigns homework every class and he does collect it when tests are due. His teaching is superb compared to other teachers I've taken this class with before! His tests cover everything you study in class, no surprises or tricks! I recommend him if you struggle with math and wnat a good teacher!
easy teaching style. he is funny, helpful, and approachable. assigns hw and collects hw on test day. Go to class and you'll pass.
Great instructor, makes math easy to understand and follow. Tests on what is covered in class so be sure to attend. Homework given each class but due at test, keep up or fall behind. Will grade on participation in class as well as tests.
Nabulsi is the best! he is super easy. gives study guides that are really helpful
Nabulsi's a great teacher. I took 3 other math classes before this and struggled. Nabulsi has a way of showing you techniques that work for Math! If you show up, do your homework and study, you will pass his exams. He is very fair with grading and will help you in any way he can if you don't understand something. Highly recommended!
Mr. Nabulsi is so helpful and nice. He makes math fun and makes you want to go to his class. I used to hate doing math homework or being in a math class but he really teaches you small tricks that makes it easy for you. Highly Recommend him.
Awesome professor... Very funny, and an easy-to-understand guy. Gives VERY helpful study guides. Very easy class/professor.
Alex is a great teacher. He has a funny personality and does not make class boring. He shows you easier ways to find solutions.Go to class, study the review sheet and you'll be fine.take his class serious and he'll notice.
He was a wonderful teacher. Dont be a jerk and interupt class or he will emberass you. He takes the notes straight from the book. Not a lot of homework. Tests are easy if you paid attention. He has an accent which may be hard to understand at first but overall awesome.
He is one of the best math teachers I ever had. He is very patient to explain the problems. he teaches a lot of shortcuts. his exams are only from home works, review****s and what he covered in class. there is lots of homework. he remembers you if you miss a class. he is very funny. he makes the time goes faster by making jokes.
In all honesty he is a nice funny and genuine guy. I mean he was nice till after the 2nd test and then he just went off the wall. Stopped giving review sheets, made the final super hard. He told the class he was mad at the fact that his students were taking advantage of him. Didn't even give a review sheet for the 3rd exam. Don't take him in summer
By far the best math teacher @ IVC ! He actually teaches and breaks down step by step giving you tricks to tackle problems. He's patient, clear & enjoys teaching serious students. Don't waste him time, take the class if you're there to learn. Excellent teacher !!!
A great professor for Trig. He makes sure you know all the important concepts for the class and disregards the irrelevant stuff from the textbook. Homework and attendance is mandatory, but that is what made all the exams and quizzes super easy!
His trig class was hard, but he is a very fair grading teacher. Go to class, take thorough notes and study for your exams and you'll get at least a B. I think he's the BEST teacher at IVC and Saddleback for Math.
Definitely recommend his class! He has an accent so it can be difficult to understand him at times. I took his class during the summer so it was more accelerated. If you attend classes, do the assigned homework and review you should be able to pass his exams. His exams aren't difficult, some questions are from his reviews. Good teacher!!
Attandance is mandatory. He is really good at explaining the Math material. Assigns homework that is not due until you the day of an exam. He likes to joke and poke fun at the students (mostly male) and the students back at him! I am horrible at Math so with the help of a tutor and Professor Nabulsi, I FINALLY passed this Math class!
he gives me a confident of loging math
This was my third time taking this class and I passed with a B.He is a great teacher, he explains everything clearly and he is very funny! You only need the book for hmwk which is due the day of the exams. There are three exams and the final. As long as you do your hmwk the exams should be easy. Extra credit for lab and attendance is a must
Goes over 'tricks' that may throw u off & offers step by step process to solve problems. Do homework, pay attention in class& DO THE STUDY GUIDE and you will get an A. Best math professor ever!!! Wish he taught Stats and Calc !!!
Personally I need a teacher who gives great explinations and clear examples. He did not do that at all. If you ask a question his response is "C'mon man you should know this; is this really your quetion?" He laughs and moves on without answering. He was a nice guy but definitely not the teacher for me.
I am horrible at math. I had to retake this class for the second time and was very stressed about it. However, Nabulsi is a very helpful professor and he gives a lot of tips and tricks. Do the homework, review sheets, and practice a lot and you should do well. No reason why you shouldn't do well. Also he is very nice and has good humor.
This professor is awesome. I took this class over the summer every Monday-Thursday night (killer, I know) but he made it bearable. He is honest about his expectations from the beginning and he really helps when you need it. He recognizes who is putting in their best effort and he helps you to reach your goal if you are working hard. Take him!
I hate math, but I've had teachers that I like that have helped me pass. Mr. Nabulsi is unapproachable, he doesn't clearly explain things, and he is scatterbrained about what he assigns and what he does on the board.
Professor Nabulsi is an Excellent instructor. He goes over the material in the simplest way possible so you can understand. He goes over short cuts and tricks. This is my second time taking this class and I am doing very well. Study the review sheet and class notes you will get an A. Don't miss classes. One thing don't use ur cell phone in class
Professor Nabulsi is such a great guy. He is very clear and understandable math teacher, he even teach you a few techniques to make math more easier. I couldn't take Math 253 with him because his class was full, but I'll be willing to wait for him next semester. I highly recommend him.
If you need to learn math and do not already understand the material beforehand then I would recommend staying away from this professor. I felt his teaching style was not effective to help me learn how to successfully solve a problem. He does assign a bit of the harder problems on homework, he also says he was originally NOT a math major.
An Excellent instructor, He tells you his expectation the first day of class. Study the Notes and the study guide you will get A in class. Take his class serious if you want to learn and pass with A. Funny easy going and very friendly. I highly recommending this Alex
Clearly defined course plans and expectations. Attend every class and pay attn while you're there. Thoroughly understand the homework and review sheets and you'll do just fine. He presents an intimidating persona but turned out a really nice guy and teacher.
Excellent professor! Definitetly recomend this class. A.Nabulsi cares about his students and want hem to succeed! But ofcourse the student must be willing to their part also, for example, attend all classes, take notes, do homework and the study guide. Make sure you make this class a priorety because without a passing grade, you can not go forward.
Nabulsi is an amazing professor. He makes math easy. All you need to do to get an A is do your homework/review sheets on time! He is a dance teacher as well so don't forget to ask him about his moves.
Nabulsi an excellent professor.Highly recommending his class. He cares about his students. He explains the materials in an way. Uses a lot of short cuts which makes it easy .Do all the review sheets , homework and participate will get A. He is very strict about cell phones. The best instructor I took so far. Very friendly , funny and enjoyable.
This teacher was amazing and very helpful everyday. He's also very funny but serious about wanting you to learn. Definitely sit up front and you will get a good grade! Keep on top of the homework everyday and definitely do the review sheets he gives you.Don't throw away any papers or notes! Most helpful math teacher ever!!
HAS EXCELLENT SHORTCUTS; FIRST EXPLAINS HOW TO SOLVE THE LONG WAY, THEN GIVES YOU THE SHORTCUT. BOTTOMLINE IS THIS; IF YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND THE REVIEW SHEETS ON TIME YOU WILL HAVE NOT PROBLEM KEEPING UP IN CLASS. FAIL TO DO THIS AND SEE YOUR GRADE DWINDLE TO NOTHING. FUNNY GUY TOO!
One of the best math teachers I have ever had so many good short cuts, does not waste time took this during summer went fast but he explained everything very clearly, does not trick you on exams just do homework and review sheets and you should be good (: funny guy too
This professor takes the time to teach thoroughly the material. He will explain it the long way the first time around and then he gives you shortcuts. Better said, his style is very comprehensive. He's funny - and makes light of most situations [don't be late]. I took this during the summer and although it was fast paced it was worth my time.
I hate math but Nabulsi made this class tolerable and easy I was really shocked to find out I actually got an A which was definitely a first for me in math. He shows you shortcuts on how to do certain things and a lot of the problems he gives you in class have similar versions of them on the tests. Overall it was really helpful.
Would love to give this guy a better rating because he's really chill and funny, but not great at teaching. He got easily lost, didn't know the material, forgot formulas, made a ton of mistakes, hard to have confidence he knows what he's doing. If you need these concepts for upper level math, and need to learn this material, I'd stay away.
A cool and chill professor makes fun of students which made class fun. I learned a lot during his class. He is very kind and cares about his students. I got a C but was entirely my fault for not working hard. I slacked a lot in class which obviously impacted my grade. But overall an interesting teacher that has a very mellow character.
Excellent instructor. Explains the material very well in details. Very clear. He goes step by step. I highly recommend Mr. Nabulsi for this class. Do ur Hk pay attention and do the reviwe sheet will be fine.
Nabulsi is a awesome professor, he makes things so easy by using shortcuts and tricks to make math so much easier. He loves to make jokes about others and he tries to make the class as fun as possible by making the whole class laugh. I defiantly recommend taking this class with him.
honestly i was terrible at math prior to taking his class. i had taken this course previously with professor vargas(who is god awful). anyways to do well in this class do all the homework and review sheets. come to class on time and take good notes. attendance is key, if you miss more than three classes he drops you. Take this class :)
It was odd. I Aced my pre alg. I love math. But having experienced his style traumatized me. HE DOES NOT APPRECIATE BEING ASKED QUESTIONS ON MATERIAL PREV. COVERED. and this to me is negating the nature of the student. He is rude.
He is Perfect, best Math teacher I ever had in my life. you need to just read the notes, do HW and review sheet for exams, he is so funny and i enjoyed being in his class,BTW he is not a dance Prof as somebody told in the comments.he likes active students, 100% recommend him, take him if you are not good at math, he is so helpful.
He's a good teacher, but his tests are hard! Nabulsi picks the most difficult problems that we went over in class. None of the problems on tests are gimmes. Also it is true that he doesn't like being asked questions from problems that were already covered in class.
100% recommend him, He is Perfect and very nice, best Math teacher I ever had in my life. you need to just read the notes, do HW and review sheet for exams, i enjoyed being in his class,.he likes active students, 100% recommend him,
He's probably one of the best professors I've ever had. He messes with his students, but all in good fun. I struggled a lot through the semester with work and the class. But he cares about his students. He can tell who is taking the class seriously and who isn't. Stay on top of your homework, work on the reviews, don't miss class, youll be fine.
I am terrible at math, this is my third time taking this class. Prof. Nabulsi is a great teacher. I not only passed the class this time, but I actually learned and retained a lot of information. He teaches you great short cuts, and will help you with anything as long as you put in effort. Do all practice tests, and homework! Attendance is a must!
If you need to take Math 253, I strongly recommend taking his class. He is extremely helpful with all the material. He wants his students to succeed and will help you succeed in his class if you show interest, by attending every class and doing all the homework, which includes his study guides. You do all that and you passed the class. That simple.
Awesome teacher. I hate math with a passion and he really helped me scrape by with a passing grade. If you do the homework, show up to class, and study for tests then you'll pass. He's willing to work with you if you're struggling, but trying your best. Gonna miss this class!
Nabulsi is a good professor except that his exams are really difficult. None of the problems on his exams are gimmes. Expect to study a lot for this class because this is not like high school algebra.
He's an excellent teacher of a difficult subject. He explains the problem types clearly and makes certain ppl understand before he moves onto the next type. If you do ur hw, attend every class, and stay focused you'll pass and do well. He is blunt always w a dry sense of humor once the class gets going and he's relaxed more. Don't be late 2 class
He get's really annoyed if you ask him a question that he already answered. Hard class
Great professor, very helpful. Attendance is the must. If you do homework, pay attention to class lectures you'll be fine.
I'd highly recommend Alex Nabulsi. He has a bit of an accent, and is a little gruff, but he is a great teacher! He doesn't like going over previous material so be sure to take notes! Apply yourself and you will get a lot out of his class.
Took math 253 at IVC over summer with this professor. I am naturally not very good with math. He gives "notes" which are just example problems which he uses for homework and on the exams. His teaching style went too fast for my learning pace. If you attend class, do hw, and study notes you will be fine. Was difficult for me but a good professor.
Prof. Nabulsi has an extremely dry sense of humor, might seem offensive to most people but to me it was hilarious. 4 exams total, multiple sections covered with homework per section each class from the textbook. Review sheets before exams. The problems on the exams are from lectures, and homework, so if you do the hw and take notes, you'll do fine.
He is definitely one of those professors that just wants to get in and get out. No consideration for those students that can't grasp the concept.. He does 1-3 problem for each formula and goes extremely fast. It's pretty difficult to take notes and understand the concept at the same time.. Tests are from hw,notes and study guide. Don't ask Q's!
He's an okay professor... he's not quite good at explaining the material. We do lots of problems in class together and it gets really boring... He makes A LOT of mistakes but he would just brush it off. A lot of test problems are from the review sheets so please if you want a good grade in his class, DO THE REVIEW SHEETS!
Professor Nabulsi is a great teacher! I know some students find him to be intimidating but I think he is strict because he genuinely wants the students to learn and do well! I am not the best at math but the key to passing is simply to take the time to study and understand the helpful notes. Its that SIMPLE if you study then you will do well! :D
The grade was based on 3 exams and the final (about 20 problems on each exam). There is homework, but it's a small portion of the grade. Make sure you show up to class, take good notes, and study for exams and you should do fine. I'm not great at math, but I didn't dread going to this class. Professor is pretty funny and nice.
I took math 253 (college algebra) and it was a fairly easy class. His class is very self driven; if you dont study on your own time or do the home work you wont pass, as in any other course. He's harshly funny at times and he surprizingly resembles gru from dispicable me (accent). Hes pretty clear on his lectures and overall is a great professor.

He's a good professor but he's fairly strict. However, that's only because he wants the best out of everyone. He has no time for slackers, he's only there for those who are serious about passing. If you're serious about passing, then you should pass this class no problem. He has an accent, so he might be a tiny bit hard to understand.
You can't understand a word from his mouth during his lectures and he messes up every other problem
Best math teacher I've ever had. Funny. Great lectures. If you get math then its an easy A. Gives study guide before each tests. test are from lectures and homework. Big on attendance, so don't skip class.
He's very strict about certain things like phone use and attendance, but he's pretty nice overall. He takes attendance at every class meeting so make sure you go! He's really helpful and he's honestly one of the best math teachers I've had. If you have questions, just ask. Tests are based off of in class notes and homework.
He is a very confusing professor. you have to go to all the classes because quizzes and test are from the homework and notes from the class, sometimes he even repeats exactly the same problems for the final etc. he makes a lot of mistakes during class (embarrassing), if you participate a lot he will like you and help you more.
Good teacher. I would've liked more homework to fully grasp the concepts and more time in class.
Only class I've ever gotten a withdrawal :(. Told us to email him day before the last day to drop and told the class if we weren't getting at least a C there is no way we would pass the class and we needed to drop. If you don't understand math you'll get lost. Lectures are quick and barely any homework. Good for ppl who already get it.
I took this class with my brother and made friends in the class always comparing test scores mine were always higher yet he gave me a lower grade in the class than my brother who failed several tests, My final grade did not add up with my actual work and when I emailed him for clarification of course no response. Very disappointed.
really funny and helpful professor
Great teacher, if you attend all his classes and you pay attention you can easily get good grades
Professor nabulsi really knows how to teach math in an easy. He has 4 exams and homeworks are not mandatory. He also gives good study guides and helps students out based on their effor. I encourage you to take him.
Pretty cool guy! He seems scary and mean but he isn't, he wants the best out of you. Fair grader. No tricks, no extra hard questions. Straight forward. Do the HW!! I REPEAT!! Do the HW and your life will be ez!! Do not wait till last minute!! This is Math! It won't work and especially not in his class! The tests are exactly from HW and notes.
Prof. Nabulsi has a strong accent and an even stronger personality. Math does not come easy to me and the idea of passing this class was daunting. He made the class enjoyable. Doesn't collect homework but DO IT! The exams are based off of it. Thought I wasn't going to pass and walked out with a C. Amazing math professor. Take him when you can!
Whole grade is composed of three tests(100pts each) and a final(about 120pts). Nothing is multiple choice. HW is not collected. Tests are pretty short. Every single test question is from lecture or the suggested HW. During lecture, he skips a lot of steps and assumes we're following what he's doing, but it gets confusing. Class often ends early.
good professor
Excellent Professor. Makes material so easy to understand. Exams are from HWK and class notes. Solve problems step by step. I highly recommend this professor.
An excellent professor with a good sense of humor, makes it easier for students to get good grades.
One of the best math teachers at IVC. Math doesn't come easy for me. However, I got an A in the class. He teaches step by step. Do the homework and you will do well. Great sense of humor and offers study guides for exams.
Professor Nabulsi is terrible. His lectures are fast paced and he doesn't really like answering questions. He makes lots of mistakes and chooses favorites. He assumes no one tries and thinks only a handful of people do the homework. He wants you to live sleep and eat math. "Isn't it?"
Professor Nabulsi is a great teacher and he teaches math easily so everyone can understand him. I recommend him to a friend and he had the same results.
Nabulsi is a good professor because he explains all the steps and does it multiple times to make sure you get it. He seems scary but he has a good sense of humor. Go to class, pay attention, participate, do the HW, and you'll be fine. 3 tests, 25 Q's, mult. choice. He offers E.C. and sends review sheets. You can pass if you try! 10/10.
He is very unclear with lessons and seems annoyed when you ask a question. He randomly takes attendance and it counts toward your grade. Also, homework is collected the day of each test and counts toward your grade.
he's the funniest professor every. he gives you a study guide and the test is exactly from the homework, class problems, and study guide. He is really good at algebra and explains it well but when it came to the calculus material he got a bit bad. he didn't teach the last couple chapters very well but other all he's good
I've taken Professor Nabulsi twice and I am glad to say that he was one of the best math teachers and overall professors that I've had. He may seem stern at first but is a light hearted and caring person. If you are respectful and try your best in his class he will give you a deserving grade as he grades also on personal performance.
he moves through lessons fast without concern for class .
My experience at IVC has been great so far, but this professor disappointed me. Hard to follow during his lectures, he refused to give us study guides, and he refused to go over the answers on the third exam after he graded them. He blamed the class for not doing well on the exams and he seemed annoyed sometimes when you ask him questions. Rude.
Alex an excellent instructor, he is very fair. If you are not serious don't take him. Some of his exams multiple choice. Do your homework will be pass easily. Exams questions are from the homework and class notes. If you miss a class you get lost the next class. I highly recommended him.
Mr. Alex an Excellent Professor. I really enjoy his class, Very clear and to the point. A lot of material to cover for Math2 but he made it so simple. Don't miss a class and don't try to use your cell phone in the class, he will pick on you right away. He likes students who participate and active. I highly recommend to take Alex for any math @IVC
Prof Nabulsi is the best! His lectures are very clear. Show you step by step and his teaching methods are excellent. Alex very funny and friendly. He made the class actually enjoyable. Alex really cares about his students. I highly recommend him..
Grades are based out of 3 exams, HW and attendance. literally all his test problems come from the class lectures, study guides, and homework. Fair teacher w a great sense of humor. PRO TIP: sit towards the front of class.
He does everything step by step, All of his tests are based off of hw/lecture problems. He can go a little fast at times you just have to tell him to slow down. Overall hes really great, make sure you go to class and do the hw or you will be totally lost. I didnt well just becuase I have a hard time with math but nothing of him.
Excellent Professor. I had Math2 with him Fall 17. I really enjoyed his class. He goes step by step when he solve problems. His lecture clear to the point. Funny sometimes. I highly recommend him for any math classes
This is the second time taking Alex. For math 2 and now math 3B. I really enjoy his lecture. Very clear, step by step. Funny at times. Do the Hwk , Review sheet and class notes you well do fine. Easy going , but wants you to work for his classes.
Great math professor- best I have had. Super clear, explains everything and answers all questions . Show up to class (he will remember if you don't), do the work/participate, and do not use your phone (zero tolerance). Gives lots of review for tests.
Took his class about two years ago, he's a great professor. If you pay attention, do your homework, you will easily get a good grade.
Professor Nabulsi is the best math 3B professor at IVC. Ok he is the BESTTTTT. Take him and you're not going to regret it. There are 3 tests and a final. Homework are not alot. If you come to class and take notes you get an A. He gives study guid, which covers the test. TAKE HIM.
Great Professor. I am taking 3B with him. Easy to understand, goes over problems step by step. 3 Exams and Final. Very patient. Zero tolerance for using cell phone in class. Participation matter. I highly recommend him for any Math classes. One of the BEST professor at IVC
Can take difficult concepts and make them easy to understand. He expects you to know the material come exam time but he is a very fair teacher. He doesn't put anything on the exam that wasn't taught in class. Participation is important. Don't use your cell phone during class. Very highly recommended.
definitely the best math instructor I ever had. really fair in exams. no unexpected question would be in the exam that u never saw in the hw or notes before. class is not boring at all. just don't use the phone and participate and he would realize u even if u screw up in one of the tests.
Fair professor with clear expectations. Approachable for questions and will work through problems slowly. Do not use your phone in class. Exams are based off of the homework and examples from lectures. He doesn't teach you the concepts behind the math, just how to do problems (but nonetheless, I learned the most in this class than any other)
The best professor ever!!
Great Professor I wish I had him for all my math classes at IVC! As long as you do the work you will pass the class. He is very helpful and gives extra credit . Zero tolerance for cell phone and side talk. I highly recommend him
Simply the best math professor ever, he makes learning algebra much easier by teaching shortcuts. Hes also a fair person, he never gives problems on exams that we never learned before. God bless this man.
Professor Nabulsi teaches with passion. He is so calm and cool instructor and is never annoyed with any student. The best thing I liked about him is he never made us feel stupid even if we asked simple questions. Professor Nabulsi should teach Math 4A. I will be the first one to register for it .
Professor Nabulsi is THE best math teacher i have ever had. He is great at explaining things, has an amazing sense of humor, and is really easy to talk to. I've always hated math, he made it simple any easy. Wish he can teach Calc 3
Great professor, made algebra super easy and shows plenty of shortcuts to understand equations better. Also a really funny and charismatic guy!
Great professor for Calculus (math 3b). Sometimes switches his negative signs and misspells the title of the chapter. He is really funny and easy to talk to and keeps the class engaged. Exams are straightforward from homework or notes so study those. He won't give a question that you have not seen before. I highly recommend him.
Breaks things down into manageable understandable steps. Informs you what will trip you up on questions during lecture. I'm not a math major but I actually like math after Alex. Wish he taught other professors how to teach! Study guide & homework are crucial to success! No surprises on exams as long as you do homework. Wish he taught chem!
Professor Nabulsi is the best math teacher I have ever had, His lecture is easy to understand for struggling students in math. Prof. Nabulsi easy to approach to ask questions. His study guides are exactly like the Exams. Prof. Nabulsi has a nice sens of humor. Do the review sheet and homework don't miss a class you will do good .
He's a funny guy. Make sure you're actually doing your work if you bring your laptop or any device to class because he gets really mad if you're not working on what you're supposed to. Class almost always ends a little earlier than it's supposed to but you can stay back and ask him anything. He also gives like 10 minute breaks which is pretty nice.
Hates phones; book is required for classwork and homework. Only allows scientific calculators on tests. Homework is just book probs; study guides are probs that were done for homework or classwork(he will choose 2-10 probs from each section). The tests will contain probs from the study guide. Final is just problems from previous tests.
He makes many inappropriate jokes. His style of teaching in class is to just work on problems without teaching anything. Whenever I asked for help, he just made fun of me. If you study, pay attention and do the study guide you'll get an A but its all self though and he is unbearable in class.
Professor Nabulsi is a very respectful and fun instructor. Lectures are very clear and easy to understand. Attend the class! He is also always willing to answer any questions and is easy to approach. Your grade is basically 4 exams. Exams are consistent of the hw questions so as long as you practice those you should have a high grade in class.
I don't think it's appropriate for people to make bad reviews during quarantine but I think he did a great job. He was accomodating and actually worked very hard. Sometimes we would have tech issues, but instead of giving up and switching to notes he valued our learning and struggled for us. I would not do well with just notes, so ty prof. -Ian
Professor Nabulsi is pretty chill. He makes jokes to keep the class entertained at times. While I'd say 95% of the learning gets done in class, there are sometimes you have to refer to the Calculus textbook or watch some youtube videos for explaining certain topics. He's a very reasonable professor. I would recommend. Put in the work, you'll be ok.
I dont think he was a good teacher. His notes were very simple and then the tests were insane. The final was almost impossible to finish in the time he gave us. He told us to study certain things and then the test ended up being nothing like what he told us to study. Would not recommend as a teacher
Pay attention in class and actually do the hw (about 12 problems per section) and do the practice exams, youll do well on exams. If you pay attention and participate in class and show that your working for your grade he will do everything he can to help you out and do well in the class. Hilarious guy. Got me through calc 2 during quarantine.
Listen, Prof. Nabulsi is a fair teacher. He does not baby you through the semester, you are expected to actually use the textbook and study YOURSELF, and it is possible to get a good grade. He does occasionally make mistakes in lecture but thats it. He was under pressure during the online transition and did his best to help students.
I didnt like him as a teacher at all. Really rude & unopen to questions. Instead of recognizing the current global situation, he decided to make the class way harder than it was before. During one test, he left his mic on and started talking on the phone. Would not recommend at all.
Professor Nabulsi has been one of my favorite professors. His lectures are efficient, he explains things very well, and his grading very fair. Yes, the COVID-19 transition was tough, because it made the class little harder, but he did the best on Live Zoom to accommodate everyone especially the breakout rooms. I highly recommend Professor Nabulsi.
Prof Nabulsi isn't very technologically proficient. (His homework assignments are assigned at the end of the lesson and you have to either be there at the lesson to know unless you have someone who's there for you. He's not very responsive if you email/inbox on canvas). If you put in the work you're ok but I wouldn't take him again tbh
Wouldnt recommend as online prof, is not considerate of these unusual times. Does not record lectures, assigns quite a bit of homework, and he stopped giving us study guides and switched to using proctorio bc in the first exam, he posted one of the questions online with a wrong answer and caught people cheating with that. No answers to study guide.
Excellent professor. Always avilable outside the class. Easy to follow. Exams are similar to the class notes and homework. I highly recommend this professor.
I do not get it why people complain about the switch of the testing method. It is for the fairness of the hardworking students who actually studied for the exam. It is lucky for the people who are trying to search for answers online because he did not punish you guys or reported to the deans office. Better to prepare and study for exams.
Prof. Nablusi is by far the best Math Professor I've had in many years of schooling. To all those who say otherwise, they're just wrong. This class could be FAR harder than he makes it, and although we cover difficult topics he makes them incredibly easy to understand. Some people don't want to put in effort, but he only wants to see you succeed.
Personally, Prof. Nabulsi isnt ideal for my specific type of learning but WOW he is such a caring professor and will absolutely do everything in his power to make sure his students understand the topic. Also you have to remember its calc 2 and u absolutely have to do some studying on ur own. overall 10/10
Just finished the final he gave to us. He claimed it would be straightforward, but it wasnt. The final has 20 questions and if you are not talented enough you wont able to finish the exam.
He is by far one of the best Professors I have ever had in any subject. He cares about his students, his exams are SUPER fair, hes hilarious, and he is so willing to answer all your questions (no matter how dumb). You can really tell that professor Nabulsi truly enjoys teaching and thats evident in the way he teaches. You wont regret taking him.
Whoever said the math 3B final wasnt straightforward probably did bad on the first 3 exams... exams are exactly like the homework and examples in class. study your homework and your notes and you should at least get an easy B (you have to work for the A). overall nabulsi is a solid 9/10, not a lot of hw and exams are extremely fair :)
This is my first time using Rate My Professor & its because P. Nabulsi is truly an amazing Professor. If you are a student who works hard and shows your dedication to the class, P. Nabulsi recognizes it and awards students for their hard work. As any Calc 2 class, this was a very difficult course to take online, but worth it with P. Nabulsi.
If You love your GPA please do not take him. He doesn't care about his student at all. He just loves to take points off for no reason and when you tell him he gets mad. I had him during COVID and he doesn't know how to work with the computer and when you email him he doesn't respond.
Would not recommend this professor. His lectures are just him reading off of the book and he does not explain any concepts. Get ready to self study for the entire class. Very hard to get help and a lot of my peers had their complaints as well.
All his lectures are him copying down exactly what the textbook says. He never explains anything, just copies answers word for word. Very unstructured class and students are pretty much left to learn the material on their own. Would not recommend.
Audited class pre-Covid. We need more professors like him. Explains and breaks down concepts step by step. Tells you things to look for. If you do homework and study guides, you will do well. I wish he taught chem & O Chem !!! So sad he's not teaching in Fall 2021. He was by far one of the best professors I have ever had. (Graduated from 4 yr).
This professor is great but you have to finish the review sheets if you want to succeed in this class. They are very helpful and cover exactly what you need in order to pass each exam.
I took Prof.Nabulsi Intro to Stats (Math 10) over the summer and it was honestly easier than I thought. Although he does give a lot of homework, they were helpful for the exams. There were 3 exams and all were straightforward if you did the homework or watch the lectures. Overall, not bad for a summer classes!
straightforward teacher. 3 exams,3 homework assignment per unit, 1 final. if you can do the study guide through 2 times without notes and get the answers right, you will breeze through the tests. Gives review guides before tests and homework is not due until the test day. interesting teacher, very generous when it comes to the tests.
Professor Nabulsi is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. All you need to do to pass this class with an A is to pay attention and do the review sheets. Almost every single question from the exams came straight out of the review sheet. If you struggle with math, I really recommend professor Nabulsi because his teaching is clear and simple.
The goat
Amazing professor which truly deserves all the respect and praise. He really cared for the entire class as he helped every single person, explained processes step by step, and was overall such a nice and relaxed person to have teaching the class and talk to. I will miss his vibe. Do the homework and attend his lectures and you will be fine.
The Professor is a GigaChad truly.
I have taken math 3A twice before and no professor had what Nablusi has. He breaks everything down step by step during lectures so you always know why. He also provides lots of practice problems in class and not that much homework. He is the best.
Professor Nabulsi is one of the best professor that I ever had. He is very caring and he is willing to help. I came up to him for many questions and I was always welcome. I see people who said his lectures are just reading off the books which is not true. They think so because they did not pay attention to lectures. I was lucky to have him.
Fairly easy. As long as you do all your work the tests will be simple. He gives review guides and just about every question on the test is taken directly from these guides. Homework can be done in as little as 25 minutes per school night. Tip: complete every review guide after corrections twice to almost memorize hard problems that will be in exams
Professor was an amazing teacher and only taught us what he thought was important and wouldn't waste our time. One thing is that he goes through problems really quickly in class and they are easier than the homework problems. It's not too bad but it made some topics a little hard to master. Overall I really recommend taking his class and DO THE HW!
Prrof Nabulsi rekindled my love for math. he's incredibly funny and entertains even the silliest of questions. he genuinely wants to see you succeed and is ready to help whenever you ask. he's and amazing lecturer and likes to make mistakes to "keep you on your toes". so long as you work hard and study diligently, your efforts will be rewarded!
The goat. He cares about his students and makes sure to do everything in his power to help out. Best calculus professor available by far.
Extremely humble guy considering how knowledgable he is. Tests are extremely fair as he chooses difficult problems but they come straight from the homework, notes, or his review sheets. Lectures start with basic problems to really help you understand the theorems, then he works his way up to teaching you honestly some beautiful math.
Professor Nabulsi teaches well and gives us final grades not only based on overall grades but participation in class.
Nabulsi is amazing! Always in the math center to help. Willing to delve into "simpler" concepts or ones you may have forgotten. There were few times where I felt a little defeated, but it'll click later on so don't stress! His tests are nearly identical to what he goes over in class. Review past tests + note examples for the final and you'll succeed
I really liked Prof Nabulsi. He is chill and funny. Go to class, pay attention, do the homework and review sheets he provides you with, and you should get an A. Exams are super fair. (I certainly won't tell you that the first exam we had had the exact same questions as the review sheet lol)
THE BEST PROFESSOR IN IVC He gave us extra credit and a clear exam. If you study well on the review sheet and homework, then A is 100% guaranteed.
The professor is good at teaching, he is chill and funny, also professional soccer player
Genuinely, my favorite professor. He sets you up for success as long as you show up to class, participate, and ask questions. His lectures are easy to follow, and for exam review if there is a question on both the class notes and the review sheet, there will be something similar on the exam. If you learn by doing, I highly recommended him!
Alex rocks! He is caring, and really wants all of his students to get an A or B in the class. He gives you study guides and basically everything to succeed. I have taken him for both Calc 3A and Calc 3B - wish he taught Calc 3C/4A! He's funny, and super fair; all his exams are something we have seen before, so no surprises. Take him! -EFC
He is God Tier. I'm telling you that this a an easy pass. Exams are straightforward and if you do the homework and review sheets you will get an A in the class. Yes, his class is very test-heavy but the questions you have seen before in hw/revi. Formulas included on exams, I HIGHLY recommend that you ask him for help if you get stuck on the exam.
This professor is literally a hidden gem. He is very funny and if you care about your grade, he will definitely help you work your hardest. He may look intimidating at first, but he just wants to know that you are putting in the effort. Definitely DO NOT fall behind on homework and you will do great! Make sure to ALWAYS do/ go over the review. GOAT
goat. test ?s just like from hw and in-class notes. gives you a review sheet for the three exams leading up to the final. got a 90, 65, 99 on the tests and 92 percent on the final. ended with 88%. prof actually cares and will respect you if you work hard. lectures step by step with problems!! first time ive fully understood or enjoyed math in 4 yrs
YES, it is the easy A class if you just work on the review sheets that he would give you and do the lec problem, but, is this class help you for your educational path? HELL NO! would you understand any thing from this class which would help you for Calc 3? NO! IF YOU DON'T NEED TO TAKE OTHER CALC SO TAKE HIM OTHERWISE I WON'T RECOMMEND HIM!
Professor Nabulsi is a hidden gem - funny, caring and wants his students to succeed. Attend class, do the homework and review sheets, and you'll ace the exams. unstuck study is a great supplementary study tool to prep for tests.
good lectures and a good amount of hw. only criticism is that he doesn't grade on a clear scale. some questions I lost full points for missing a negative and others didnt lose any points. basically grades on a whim
The professor is extremely test-heavy, with an unclear grading scale. They deduct significant points for minor mistakes yet sometimes give full credit inconsistently. very short temperd person, grading often feels influenced by their emotions, and class rules are not enforced consistently, leading to lots of confusion amoung the class.
The professor's mood changes showing care but often getting frustrated with simple questions. Grading is subjective, and he dislike being confronted about grading errors. He threatened to fail me and others for comparing test errors. He also jump to conclusions about non-participating students, claiming they don't care about their grade.
He teaches a fantastic and engaging class! There are 4 tests, including the final, and he provides review sheets that are super helpful. Homework is due the night of each test. He's also really funny, which makes the class enjoyable. Excited to take him for Calc 2!
He's a nice guy and explains something if you don't understand it. His lectures are clear and teach the material well. The tests are like the study guides and the homework.
Professor Nabulsi has aamzing lectures and you won't even notice how the time passes as he tries to enagge students as much as possible. He has clear expectations and is kind and understanding when it comes to students.I def recommend his class!!
Nabulsi is a great professor. He wants you to transfer to a great school. He does not want a difficult class like Calc 2 to be a dead stop in the way of your career. With that being said, it's still Calculus. Show up to class, participate (!!!), and you'll do well. Also, do the practice exams. They're great prep for the real thing.
Professor Nabulsi is very caring, but the class is pretty hard. Make sure to not skip classes because he teaches about 2 to 3 sections in a class. I did some calculating and found out that with the Final and Exams, the tests make up about 93% of the class. The exams have problems from the study review sheet but make sure to do the homework as well.
Professor Nablusi is a marvelous professor. He explains well and gets students to work on in-class problems collectively. The exams are fair, as you have study sheets for practice. On occasion he's known to give EC if the class has needed to make up some points. He has a dry sense of humor, which may not resonate with everyone, but he is funny.
Do the homework and study the review sheets and you'll be fine. His class is easy but sometimes it feels like he doesn't know what he's teaching and in those cases you might need to watch some YouTube videos. But still, the class is manageable and it's super easy to get an A.
I'm not the best in math, and I was still able to get an A. There are 5 exams, two being 50, two 100, and the final being 130 points. Pay attention to questions he marks in lecture as "I've brought a similar one on the exam before," because it's VERY likely the same question that will be on the exam. Final exam is all previous 4 exam(s) questions.
He's wonderful. Such a kind person and genuinely just wants you to succeed. His lectures are engaging and he's really funny. Just participate and pay attention and study a bit and you'll be fine.
Very kind and funny teacher. As long as you do all the homework and reviews, you'll be able to pass. Tests were composed of questions from the homework and reviews.
Probably the best professor at IVC. I took him for Calc 1 and now calc 2 over summer. He makes it very straightforward and is clear about expectations. Super helpful if you have a question and a funny guy all around. Class was not bad as long as you pay attention, do reviews and homework. He doesn't give much homework. Maybe 5-10 questions a class.
Probably the best math professor I've ever gotten. The tests are easy as long as you study the notes/homework, and he makes everything as clear as possible. He's dry in his humor and willing to explain anything when asked. TAKE HIM IF YOU NEED A SUMMER CALC CLASS, HE IS THE BEST YOU CAN GET.
I took Professor Nabulsi for Calculus. He takes time to teach concepts in depth unlike most professors at IVC, and is always willing to provide extra help if asked. His exams are fair, so if you do the reviews he gives and look at class questions, you'll be fine. Also he offers extra credit for those who go up in class. I highly recommend him!
hes super funny and you'll always know what to expect for exams. he enjoys teaching calc 2 specifically so it's never a dull day. there are times i had to review content by myself to fully understand it. regardless, do the hw and the review seriously, ask for help when needed and u'll be set for an a. participate when u can for ec
Great professor, can tell he genuinely cares that everyone passes his class. Hes very clear about what's on tests. Our first test was the exact same as our study guide. Besides that if you memorize what he tells you to, the A isn't hard. he does have pretty dry humor so sometimes it seems like he hates everyone but he's chill
Knows the material well and keeps the class as much as you can given its calculus especially with his jokes. Explains things well and willing to help when you don't understand. Cares about his students. Its a tough class so do the homework and attend class to do well.
