Pretty cool teacher. Gives easy tests as long as you do all your homework your ok. Explains everything pretty well. He does have to go to the math lab alot.

This teacher is pretty good he isnt one of those types if you dont show up a certain amount of days you have to pass the exam you just got to listen and you will do good but dont skip class because if you do you will fall far behind because we cover to much work at one time

GOOD teacher! Uses the projector but works out the problems on the board. He semi rushes but if you have a question he will explain it. He works out of the math lab also and will THOROGHLY explain it there,but in class he has to teach for the population. need help GO TO THE LAB!!! gives extra credit and allows you to make up any thing u missed.

This man made me LOVE math. It was ALWAYS my weakest subject and I hadn't gotten an A on a math test since the 7th grade. I aced every single test and the final. He is very focused and dissects every problem as if we were in kindergarten for us to be able to grasp it all. He recommends the math lab a lot if you do need extra help, though.

He is a hard but fair. Wish he Taught all the math I needed. At times he seemed to care more for the students learning than they did. Don't email him because he NEVER replies. I hate math but with SI and the math lab along with his help I managed to get an A. You can do it, just have to put in A LOT of work and dedication.

Best math professor I've had thus far. Always had the time to answer any specific questions you had after class and was willing to stay there until you got it. He does tend to focus on the theory a bit, but it's necessary as you continue on through math courses. Would recommend to anyone.

Professor O. is loves to teach and expects his students to listen and learn. I went from an F in math to an A in a matter of months thanks to the Professor's unique sense of teaching. Participate, do all homework, power point visuals, go to the math lab and show the professor you are willing to learn and trust me, you will pass the course.

I was nervous about taking this class but it ended up being awesome! He provides lots of help- if you want it. I wouldn't say my whole life revolved around this class but you definitely shouldneed to go to class (it affects your grade), should do the practice tests (very similar to the tests), and should do at least some of the homework.

It's a math class so it all depends on your ability, but he will always go out of his way to help you. If you show up and understand the material and do all the homework you will be fine. There is also extra credit available.

I think he's overrated. He grades homework. Most homework problems were hard and you will definitely need the textbook's help. There was a lot of group work which was very annoying and took up too much time. Though the tests and final were easy. What he does explain though he explains very good.

Love Love!! Made me enjoy math! Took other math classes with him and got A's. Explains step by step until everyone gets it. Expect to stay until the end of class and do all of the homework. Will answer questions before the tests and if you do the practice test, you will do great. You really don't need the textbook, but need the code for lab.

Tests are Easy, Must show work. Has a website created for students that gives step-by-step tutorials for chapters through powerpoint and also gives practice tests on faculty page. Very nice guy. You will get stared at 195% of the time this man loves staring into your soul, eye contact is an everyday thing with him. This isnt a good thing but I skipped many classes and still ended up passing with a B because it was really easy for me. Prof O's class is a "skip class, wont pass" class though. A real life Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory would be a great way to describe him. He does care about how well you do and is always available to help you out however he can. Super cool dude but take him seriously. Has pop quizzes, drops the lowest test grade, is willing to help outside of class. Gives extra credit for attending Math Club and gives back quizzes/tests so you can re-do them. He doesn't collect homework BUT he takes some problems from the HW and puts them on the quiz, so you better know how to do it.

One of the best math professors i have ever had. The way he teaches math makes it lot easier for me to understand. I failed this class before because I just could not understand it. Before giving up I tried again and Im glad I did. YOU MUST PAY ATTENTION! BTW he uses different colored markers when practicing which makes a WORLD of a difference!

Opritsa is a very organized teacher (and loves his colored markers) and the structure of his lectures are very organized. He's also a very patient teacher; there'd been times where he'd wait about 20 minutes until just everyone gets what he's teaching before he even decides to move on. I wish I would have taken him for trigonometry too.

Mr O is caring and will stay 30 minutes + afterclass to explain material 1 0n 1. wont give up on you if you try and want to learn. Thepractice test is basically the test different numbers, do that and your straight. Online work + extra credit you can do multiple times. The only way to fail is to not apply yourself, he wont move on till you get it

GREAT teacher. He is passionate about math, which leads him to get lost in problems and steer away from topic . However, he bounces back and will take the time to go over the material if needed. If you are struggling, SEE HIM AFTER CLASS AND GO TO THE MATH CLUB HE HOLDS. He will give you one on one time.

Homework should be done on MYLAB MATH. I guarantee you an A if you studied each lesson and did homework on time. He cares for all students, helps them solving math problems in class

Hes an amazing teacher tbh, he will make sure you understand the subject he is teaching and makes the environment comfortable to joke around and ask questions. i definitely would take him again if i could. Hes cool, funny and repetitive. he reviews the practice test which is the same as the test, on the test day. MathLab is must but hes lenient.

I hadnt taken a math class in 10 years, the thought of math gives me anxiety. I was prepared to fail it the first time around. He is an AMAZING professor, he makes sure you understand everything. He is available after class if you need additional instruction. He is willing to work with you if you are willing to learn. I earned an A in his class!

Very passionate about math and a very nice guy. You have 3 test and the final. The final replaces your lowest grade. Course evaluation also for points. The only thing is the HW online, its a lot if you dont do some per week. I went to the math lab after class and did as much as I could till I finished. I made sure my average was an A at least.

Opritsa gives 3 tests and a final. Lowest test grade is dropped. Honestly the lectures arent very clear and most times I had to teach myself. Good thing the study guides are similar to the test. You have to work for your A but its doable. Funny dude too.

If you're completely awful in math like I am, take him !!! he's super nice, funny and explains every single math problem to the end, & he's willing to stay behind if need. He gives a practice test before each test which is identical to the real thing just diff numbers. Deff will be takin him again!

Prof. Opritsa was by far the best teacher-I love it. He's very caring, helpful, and understanding. If you work hard, you will get "A." He gives you a practice test to prepare you. I would have not pass the class if I would have taking another prof. I am so glad I took him. I highly recommend him if you want to pass. He's Amazing teaching style!

I always had a horrible experience with math. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed math now. Prof. O' is extremely clear and inspirational, he is also in charge of the Math Club. It is not your average math club, it's more of a support group where you can learn strategies and better yourself. They also do community activities.

Professor Opritsa is such a caring professor. He is very organized and color coded. I never liked math and it had be over 10 yrs since I last looked at Algebra. However after taking this course with him my perspective on math changed. Due to covid the class was switched to online and boy did he make that class fun. LOVE him.

He's honesty really great and open-minded. If you have somewhere to be or are behind he's so chill about it, very easy to chat with. He reminds me of a middle school teacher with his methods, in-class he gives simple problems and doesn't move on until someone volunteers and answer, regardless of if it's correct or not -- this isn't a bad thing.

Professor Opritsa seems to really care about you understanding the subject. He will teach one way and if you don't get it he will try many other ways until you understand. If you miss class, then you will miss the breakdown of what you are studying, which he simplifies for the student. He is not there to hold your hand, but to patiently teach math.

One of my favorite professors, I wish I could take his class again. Trust me when I say he is so caring and easygoing, he explains everything clearly and will never seize to help someone. He funny too, although he may seem a little awkward at times. He seems to care about his students and doesn't mind striking a conversation. He's very focused.

I'm terrible at math and yet still got an A. He explains everything and doesn't rush making sure everyone understands what's going on during the class. There's a practice test before each test that's identical which you can take repeatedly before the real test to ensure an A. He's really nice and answers every question you have. 10/10 recommend .

Alex Opritsa is the best math professor you could ever have. He is so encouraging, he walks you step by step in every problem. He helps you and make sure you understand what your doing. Hell stay after class with you if you need extra help. You cant fail this class hes amazing. If your not too good in math &need help take him, you will succeed.

I can't say enough good things about this Professor. He is so helpful and kind. We had an abundance of annoying students in the class who wouldn't shut tf up while he was lecturing, but he was really patient. He gives really good feedback and tries his best to help you solve the homework and understand the material better.

Despite previously struggling with math in general, I had great success in this class. I would 100% recommend Professor Opritsa. Aside from being a really nice and caring guy, his lectures are very detailed and efficient. If you are having any problems with whatever topic you are learning in class, he is always available after class to help you.

Wish I wouldve taken some of my past math classes w/ him! He truly is an excellent professor. Really nice, but not a pushover. He makes the concepts easy to understand, and makes sure everyone is on the same page before moving on. His flexibility w/ due dates made the class much less stressful. Only HW and Test grades + XC. Professor Opritsa was a good professor. For those who are mathematically illiterate he is patient and takes his time to explain each concept. Participation in his class is a must but it makes the class more interesting.

Prof. Opritsa is a great math professor! He explained Calc 3 to the point where I found it easier to keep up with than I did with Calc 2 (w/ a different professor). He engages with the class and doesn't just lecture at you. He also thoroughly answers any questions in the discussion board, which really helps. Put in some effort, & you'll do well.

Compassionate, patient, and knowledgeable. Professor ensured no one felt embarrassed if they said an incorrect answer. There were short hw assignments on MyMathLab, and a test for every chapter. The practice tests were similar to the exam and were reviewed during class. There were opportunities to answer practice questions on the whiteboard.

Prof. Opritsa is an excellent prof. He really made me love Calc 3. HWs for every chapter, and 3 tests. During online classes, he did a great job dealing with rude students and those who would constantly ask stupid questions. Since Calc 3 is hard, it's no surprise unmotivated students found the amount of work challenging for a shortened semester.

Very understanding, always willing to go over problems and do examples from the homework as long as there's someone who asks. Participation is a must! Lots of homework with no concrete deadline; ours was due at the end of the semester. The only thing is that tests are pretty difficult and he likes to do complicated questions for fun. Great Prof

Hes my first math professor in college and he made me more comfortable into doing math in college.I really loved his style of teaching especially on how he break down and solve equations. He made math easy. Just do the mathlab assignments and study for the test if you want to pass. I DEFINITELY recommend him and dont be scared to ask questions.

he teaches like his students are stupid LOL but it's understandable. he breaks down everything he's explaining. just make sure you take good notes and you'll be set. tests are super easy and make sure you don't fall behind with homework. also, I appreciate the use of different colored markers on the board to show what he's talking about!

Fantastic math professor, fully derives all formulas from scratch making them intuitive, answers questions fully and always checks to see everyone understands what he is teaching. Tests have the same content as practice tests so nothing comes out of nowhere.

One of my favorite professors at Palm Beach State. His teaching style is fantastic and he is very engaging with students. Do what you need to do and you will ace this class.

Probably the best math professor I have ever had. Math was never my strong suit but Professor Opritsa was very patient with me and the other students. He has a knack for explaining math concepts in a simple and understandable way. If you were like me and hated math your whole life then take his class! He will make you love it!

He has too much fun sometimes teaching that you have to sneak out. Only thing, dude is a genius, a lot of times it's really hard to follow him on the board on what he is explaining. Math has always been a challenging subject for me but Professor Opritsa made it simple to understand. There is a quite bit of homework but it's quick and easy if you keep up with it.He encouraged participation and was kind enough to do reviews before tests. My only complaint would be the short time limit on tests sometimes.

He is super nice & knowledgeable of his stuff.Class is pretty straightfoward & enjoable.Homework every week/unlimited attempts & 4 tests but he gives you a practice test. Same material of class is on the tests. He is always available for questions at the end of class.

Professor Opritsa is one of the best professors on campus to take intermediate algebra. He's clear, straightforward, and knowledgeable about his stuff. Homework is on mylab and it's every week/unlimited attempts. Five tests plus a final. Some of the stuff on the test is slightly harder than on the practice test.

Professor Opritsa is truly the best MAT1033-C professor out there, he will show all of his work on the board and go through example problems to make sure we understand everything. He will not continue until the entire class understands the lectures. Overall, just work on your MyMathLab and get good grades on his tests, go to his math club as well!

Professor O is a great professor, he is kind and caring and goes above and beyond to help any student that needs help. He explains everything in great detail and gives multiple examples and he enjoys it when the class participates. He does reviews before the test. Once you do your work you will pass his class easily.

His class was like a roller coaster. Very good classes but for my taste, it was a lot of theory and little practice. This class is not difficult, but you have to study math courses together, precalculus and trigonometry, practice test was very similar to those of the test 2 tests in school ,online . Prepare to sit for more than 5 to finish

I took Professor Oprista during the summer of last year. He is a lovely man who enjoys and loves math. He's also a chatty Kathy after class, but he's so nice! He finds ways to make math more straightforward, but the thing is, there is a math homeowner after every class, and the book is needed to complete the homework.

He is the best math professor, he teaches really well and grades fairly. I would recommend him to anyone who struggles with math.

Homework is accessed through online and it's not specifically due on a date. He just wants you to complete it all before the final. The website he uses really helps to guide you and learn. Tests are multiple choice. He reviews them beforehand. He is funny in his own way, but can come off as very aloof. Participation is mandatory. Overall chill man.

Amazing math professor. I had virtual live lessons, but I honestly felt connected listening to his soothing voice and lecture. He is extremely lenient with giving extra time, but please don't take advantage of that. Consistently open to answer questions and help you if you have any issues. There is a decent amount of homework from MyMathLab.

he is a great teacher, if you pay attention in the class you will notice how he alway do the practice tests with you to pass the test, he is nice, and respectful. he will follow up with you, if you need him just email him through canvas.

This class has a lot of material but he kept it entertaining and cares about his students. I took this class in the summer (so each class was long), and he would spin this wheel that would select someone to solve a problem on the board, and it would keep us wired but so anxious lol. He made the class manageable despite our large course load.

Professor Oprista really cares about the students and does everything he can to help, if you want a caring professor take him, and his way of grading and teaching is great as well

Grades mainly depend on tests, so study hard! The professor is exceptional, often extending deadlines upon student requests till the end of the semester, the end of the semester. He's outstanding despite late responses around 3 am on Canvas or Outlook. We're awaiting grades; it's just been a day, so patience is key. Exams are webcam-monitored.

Super genuine professor that really cares about math, and our understanding of it. Takes the time to go over whatever we need, whenever. Tough class, but if you attend the lectures, participate, and do the homework/practice tests you should be fine.

Professor Opritsa goes out of his way to stay after class to help students with questions, especially before tests and the final exam.

One of the greatest math teachers Ive ever had with a genuine passion for math. He does his best to make sure you understand the content and pass the class and he's always willing to answer your questions. HW is a big part of your grade, so do it; it'll help you understand the tests + he drops your lowest test at the end of the semester. Great prof

Professor Opritsa is an excellent math teacher. He makes sure everyone understands by working through examples in class. For extra prep, I found Unstuck study and ChatGPT really helpful. Definitely take this class if you need a good math credit.

Great professor, test are decently tough especially for the final but over all great course and a good part of your grade comes from homework so if you try he will help you out, he curved our grade near the end of course. Very funny and nice but be sure to show up to class!

Literally the BEST math professor I have ever had in my life! You can tell he truly does enjoy teaching math. If you fail it's because you absolutely didn't try! Professor Opritsa is a great teacher! Participation is essential for math; learning it in person is probably the best option. You should have no issues passing if you put in the effort. I took this professor in person and he's amazing! He truly cares about his students. He moves fast and jumps from board to board, so it can be hard to keep up, but if you do your homework and study, it's an easy A. He also gives practice tests before the real ones, which really helps. Highly recommend!

This professor was GREAT. I had to retake intermediate because I failed it last semester. The teacher I had at the time was hard to understand and always rushed, but Oprista was the opposite!! I'm not that good at math, but he made the hard stuff seem so easy! All the homework was on Pearson. 10/10 would take his class again.

As someone who's not good at math, Professor Oprista does a fantastic job explaining during lectures .He also has a math club that students can join, which helped out a lot when it came down to things that I needed more help with. I would 100% recommend taking his class if you need help on certain problems he has no issues going over them again.

i think he's awesome! clearly loves math a lot and cares about teaching his students. he did have a tendency to run class a bit longer than the dismissal time, but he wasn't a jerk about it at all. just talks a lot haha. he has no problem if you just get up and leave when you need to unless there's a test.
